Vampires appeal to human help... (open rp)

GURAYR, SUBURB OF REVANE
PEOPLE'S DEMOCRATIC SOCIAL REPUBLIC OF ARIDDIA
04:09 AM

Michel Sachet resisted the impulse to turn on his flashlight as he stepped through the opening that had once contained a door, into the tall, deserted stone building. People had lived here once, but the government planned to demolish the unhealthy old housings and build new, taller skyscrapers instead. In the meantime, a whole area of the town resembled a ghost town.

There was no light, of course, although some streetlights still cast a pale glow outside. He looked round coolly, then walked over to a flight of stairs, and down.

The basement was damp, cold, and contained little save a splintered, empty bookcase and a torn armchair pushed back against a wall. Unlike the rest of the building, however, it was not deserted. Two figures stood waiting, outwardly just as calm... but he could see the wariness in their eyes.

"You're alone?"

Sachet looked the speaker up and down. The man was of medium height, his skin a pale brown, his hair red and a little untidy. He nodded wordlessly.

"Do all you agents come in such dull dark grey suits?" the man asked again. There was no hint of a smile on his face.

Sachet shrugged.
"No. That's just me. You have something to say?"

This time, the redhead hesitated. It was his companion who spoke, her voice so soft as to be almost inaudible.

"We need your help."

He looked at her in turn. She was smaller than the man, pale of skin, dark of hair, delicate-looking... almost fragile. Younger, too, maybe in her late twenties, while her companion looked close to forty-five. She wasn't looking towards him, and within a momont it clicked. She's blind...

"Come again?"

The man spoke once more.
"You really know very little about us, don't you. I bet we're the first you actually meet."

"True. We're only a small subpart of the government's secret defence and intelligence service. The Prime Secretary knows, but he's sworn to secrecy. You're right, we know very little about you. About vampires in general."

He nodded.
"That's the way we prefer it. If the public came to know... Well, you hate what you fear and do not understand. That's a constant in human behaviour."

Sachet smiled thinly.
"I see you don't think much of us. You two were humans yourselves once, weren't you? Now, why do you need our help?"

"We have reason to believe a member of your organisation is using his knowledge to hunt us down. And kill us."

"That's imp-"

"And he's not alone," the male vampire continued sharply. "We have our own ways of investigating, and we think he's part of an international group, one that hunts down our kind throughout the world. They're trying to slaughter us, and it's growing."

Sachet frowned.
"What do you expect from me? My government has no quarrel with you, bu we don't officially recognise you. We can't-"

"Please." The blind one again, her voice soft and pleading. "You can contact the secret services of other nations, alert them, have them protect the vampires on their territory, find out if there's a vampire-killer in their midst..."

Sachet took a few long moments before replying. Then,
"What nations are we talking about?"

A look of relief crossed both their faces. The redhead male tossed him an envelope. Sachet caught it.

"I'll make some calls..."

OOC: This seems a little unlikely, at best... What exactly have the Vampires offered in return? Would this guy really help vampires (who, as far as he knows, may suck him and all his family dry next time they meet) out of the goodness of his heart? Surely there'd be at least some money in it for him - maybe even an agreement with the Vamps to only take animals from now on, or a deal to sell them fresh blood from blood-banks...
06-10-2003, 16:49
OOC: This seems a little wierd, but it's a slow week and I'm willing to run with it. Besides, given that 18% of our population are Lycanthropes, IC we'd most likely offer some help.

OK, a little background info... Sachet is part of a secret service branch which is aware of the vampires and attempts to monitor them. Vampires (at least in Ariddia) do not kill anyone; they suck blood from people then lick the wound to heal it, and the victim forgets the encounter. I'm basing them on the vampires from the "Vampire: the Mascarade" rpg.

So, the vampires contacted this branch of the secret service for help. They've had very little contact, and mostly tolerate each other warily... up to now.

OK. If you want, just consider your government or secret service is contacted, unofficially, by an Ariddian goverment official, who alerts them as to the situation.

Mitchell Ikioi was awakened from a short nap in the RSF headquarters. "Lieutenant Ikioi, we need you immediately."

"5 more minutes..."

"I'm afraid it can't wait sir."

"Ahhhhhhh," he moaned as he attempted to get off the couch. Swinging his legs around he stood up. "What does the commander want this time? I just got back from that mission you know and-"

"As I said, it's important sir."

"Very well..."
He walked down the hallways, watching the vid screens for the news and any missions currently going underway. Before he knew it he had reached a large door reading "RSF Commander Jeffrey Higgs". It slid aside and Ikioi walked in, staring at the large window in front of him and the man sitting in a puffy chair before him. "Glad you could make it Ikioi," came a gruff voice from behind the chair. "Just when you thought you'd have a break eh?"

"Yeah, I guess."

"We have a situation upon us, and before you ask any questions you need to let me finish. The nation of Arridia is in need of help. Their services have called us in need of protecting, or helping to protect, a sort of...branch...of their defense system. This branch of people are well...they're vampires Ikioi."

Ikioi eyed him skeptically. "Aren't they just myth?"

"Apparently not, we have photos and such from the governemnt of Arridia as proof of their existance. We have examined them and done some research ourselves and find them to be real. The point is a group of people are trying to hunt them down and kill them. We are going to help shut down this group of humans or whoever is hunting them down."
"Why are we helping them when they, according to legend I guess, kill humans for blood?"
"Because this is not the case. These vampires don't kill for blood, they suck it out and then heal the victims. So are you and your team up for the job?"

"As long as they're not sucking on us, I suppose. But if they make one wrong move..."

"We have been assured that they won't. And if they do, you have our permission to deal with it how you see fit."

"Mission accepted sir."

"Very well, prep your team and be ready to go by tomorrow. That will give us some time to get more information on these people."

Sachet put down the receiver, and turned to the man standing outside the booth. They were just outside the abandoned part of Gurayr, but there were very few people out at this late hour. Four day had passed since their previous enconter, and he smiled faintly.

"You move silently."

The redhead Wymgan shrugged.
"How else would I survive. You have news?"

Sachet stepped out of the booth, the cool night wind brushing against his face. Dimly, he wondered whether vampires still felt the cold. How exactly did their physiology work?

"I've been in contact with a few people. The nations of Grimdale, Whispering Voices, Crimmond, Rioci and Telcordia are willing to help. We've accepted their offer of operatives, and have offered to send some to their nation in return, to make contact with their vampire populations and determine whether they're in danger. The Grimdale Dogs of War are on their way, amongst others, and Whispering Voices offers sanctuary if we prove... unable to protect you. Oh, and AmandaTheGreat have asked to speak to someone in person, so we've sent an agent."

The vampire smiled faintly in return; Sachet found himself surprised the man could do it.
"An international cooperation to counter the network of the hunters."

"Right. If these nations accept, we'll be sending one LDMB agent to each of them, and we'd like one of your people to accompany each, too."

"I will have to consult with the authorities. But I like the idea."

"Good. I hope we can sort this out. You get protection, and we unearth a fanatic in our midst."

"One or more, Mr. Sachet," the vampire said gravely.

Sachet met his gaze.
"Maybe, Mr..."

"Just call me Ywu. Now, let's begin that cooperation..."

"I'm going to meet the operative from Telcordia. Feel free to come with me..."

NATION OF AMANDATHEGREAT

Len Kyleson tore his gaze reluctantly away from the Lady Amanda's mesmerisingly bright eyes, and bowed his head in return.

"You received word of the situation, I believe? I have been sent be a very secret branch of Ariddian security. We have reason to believe the... vampiric poulation in your nation and ours may be at risk." There weren't many times he struggled to find words, but this was one. "We were hoping our two nations might cooperate in uncovering any threat that might have spread to both our lands..."

ABANDONED UNDERGROUND STATION
REVANE
ARIDDIA

Sachet had never truly realised the extent of the underground cris-crossing of disused rail tracks and stations beneath the capita city - although he had already been told they were home to vampires. There was a lone figure standing on the dusty platform, as though waiting for a train that would never come. Sachet exchanged a glance with Ywu, then walked up to the Telcordian agent.

It was Ywu who spoke up first, before Sachet could put a word in. He smiled, revealing just a hint of exposed fangs. A deliberate gesture, Sachet knew; vampires usually only extended their fangs if they were scared, angry, hungry or lost control for some reason. He tensed slightly, but Ywu was not about to assault their guest.

"So... how much do you know about vampires?"

OOC: It's not just Ariddian vampires that need help. They're concerned that there's a network of hunters in many countries with sensitive information on them, targetting and killing vampires everywhere.
(Wygmans, by the way, are Native Ariddians. The LDMB is the Living-Dead Monitoring branch of Ariddian secret service).

OOC: There is a network of hunters. The Holy Roanian Inquisition. Since its inception it has wiped out 3000 vampires. And they know of, and have information on, almost every vampire on the planet.
07-10-2003, 02:35
OOC: Grimdale does not contain vampires only werewolves, just a heads up. And just as a note, the commander of the team is a Captain Baker.

IC: A cold drizzle came down as the twin engined jet plane landed. Although the people who stepped out were seemingly unarmed, they gave off an aura that discouraged closer inspection. Carrying heavy packs and cases the twenty men and women loaded them into cars which departed as soon as the last one had gotten in. With nary a sound they drove off as the plane taxied onto the runway and took off. Ten minutes after their arrival, it was as if the detachment of 'The Dogs of War' had never arrived.

ROAD LEADING TO QUETAY MILITARY AIRPORT
ARIDDIA

It was raining again, but, Don Dovez noticed, the rain didn't seem to bother the vampire standing beside him. She blinked as drops trickled into the eyelashes of her blind eyes, but otherwise did not react.

He knew her only as "Angela", and had met her just a few minutes earlier. From what he had gathered, other such duos were going to be formed, one vampire and one LDMB agent - and most of them shipped off to other parts of the world. Here and now, though, they were about to welcome a team from Grimdale. Quetay airport's military personnel had been evacuated so no one would see them arrive. It was only a small runway, lost out in the middle of nowhere on one of Ariddia's less populated islands. The whole matter would be kept secret.

Dovez wiped his eyes with his sleeve; when his sight cleared, several cars were driving towards them. They were coming from Quetay. This was the only road to and from it, and went nowhere else. The cars drove past, but the last one pulled up, and the back door opened. Dovez would have helped Angela get inside, but she apparently didn't need his assistance, so he merely slipped in after her. The car drove on.

"Welcome to Ariddia," he said simply. "It's good of you to come."

"Hunt the hunters, sir." Walton's Minister of Defense Helena Meyer explained. "It seems the vampires feel endangered now."

"In Wazzu?"

"They don't know, thats why they are asking us."

"How are they asking us?"

"One of our agents was spotted."

"Repremand him...her?"

"Already done sir. She is taking a vacation."

Walton nodded. It was an oddity indeed that anyone could spot Wazzu's best...best to keep it that way he thought. "Alright. Lets not compromise ourselves further. She was spotted, we'll use her. Get her back on duty and have her ask them what they want to do about it."

"Yessir."

"And let me know before you do anything."

"Yessir."

"Dismissed."

"Yessir."

Dr. Meyer left Brian Walton to brood on the situation.

We are willing to provide safe passage, or long-term sanctuary for all Vampires and other non-human beings. We have just had our first confirmed elf born in the Sultanate a few days ago, and we wish to provide a safe place for all species to live and work together. These beings all have the same rights, priviledges, and protections as their human counterparts. We currently have a Cat-person who immigrated from another land serving as the minority leader in our Congress.

We appreciate your offer, and will bear it in mind. However, we aim to make it possible for the populations in question to reside in the nation of their choosing without fear of persecution.

We understand, they must be allowed to live as and where they choose. We thought however we should establish that if they choose temporary or permenent residence inside the Sultanate that they will be treated fairly and without persecution as we are now allowing all species to live freely among us, and they are even allowed to represent their intrests within our government.

OOC: mind if I bring my operative in now?

Jonathan Chassuer sat bored and cramped after the 10 hour flight from L4 Airforce Base in Telcordia (with 2 hour stopovers in Sanctuary and Weston City) he had been sent to replace the operative in the area after had failed to report in. His usually immaculately groomed Raven Black hair was dishoveled and reflected how he was feeling after the long flight, his ashen skin almost amplified the look of feeling ill and the stewardesses on the government owned Leer Jet asked him about it repeatedly, he had shrugged it off with a smile and a shake of his head and shed smile back and go back to serving the other dignitaries. he had often lamented quietly to himself as he stared out into the clouds God I hate leech assignments... why do they allways give me the leech asignments? he knew the answer though... the resemblence was rather... well... eiriee his ashen skin the raven black hair and the wicked smile almost made him look stereotypical of a vampire. He disliked vampires with a burning hatred that was only equalled by his loyalty to his job and idealization of haveing honor, not to mention Vampires or "leeches" as he called them usually felt more comfortable around him.

when the plane touched down and taxied towards the terminal he was more than a little relieved and bolted upright heading for the door and the stairs off the plane that he almost knocked over the Minister of finance as he returned his overnight bag to the overhead bin, he excused himself and briskly walked off the plane stopping as he felt the rain fall down on his shoulders.

bloody great.... well atleast it cant get any worse... well I HOPE it cant get any worse he walked into the Terminal and scanned the area for a represenitive of Ariddia in order to get what information they have and determine what the best course of action they should take. he combed his hair quickly as he scanned setting the attache case next to him. Slightly upgradeing his appearance to a more respectable vision of himself, he quickly picked up the case and walked towards the center terminal.

IRIS (The International Reconosence and Intelligence Service) was divided into 10 sections covering various areas of Telcordia's security and Intelligence needs section 3 covered DPD's "Dominant Paradigm Deviants" or things that go bump in the night though more correctly its usually the ons that go chompthe night that get Section 3's attention. Vampires had lived relatively peacefully in telcordia for nearly a century and besides being covertly acknowledged by the government they were never offically acknowledged making both IRIS and the Camerilla happy.

REVANE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
ARIDDIA

On the arrivals board, the plane from Telcordia flicked up. Damien Laroche glanced up at it, then headed for the indicated terminal. He fished into his pocket, withdrew a crumpled note, and clenched it tight. The LDMB hadn't been too happy in letting the vampires greet their guest, but Laroche was, after all, just a signpost to the meeting place.

He walked up to the pale man, and for a moment was impressed. Amongst vampires, the Telcordian would appear fairly old, and thus deserving of respect.

"They await you," he said simply, took the man's hand and pressed the paper into it. A bit theatrical perhaps, but Laroche had always wanted to play spy. He walked away and vanished into the bustling crowd...

Had Ellen been prone to drink, she would be getting drunk just about now. She'd heard about those operatives who were identified. Only half managed to escape, and those were all forcably retired. There was always a silent stigma attached to those so called "lucky" few. Even being describe as lucky was a stigma.

And here, at a young looking 67 years of age and with more then 40 years in service, she had gotten sloppy. She had been discovered.

What mattered worse was that she had been pulled out of her retirement before it became official. She was going to be held on, as a diplomat. Shamefull.

And so now she waited on a barstool, sipping a non-alcoholic beer, and waiting for the one who spotted her. The Ariddian who so embarissingly recognized her as a forign agent, and approached her for help.

Ellen sighed. At least I may be able to increase my pension off this she thought, and took another sip off the bitter drink.

A BAR, SOMEWHERE
THE EMPIRE OF CRIMMOND

"Stay here. Don't show yourself until I say."

His travelling companion leaned back and crossed his arms, an amused look on his face. André Legrand still didn't feel entirely happy being teamed up with a vampire, especially this one, but orders were orders. It was just that Takiguchi - the man had declined to give his first name - was so... unnerving. He rarely spoke. From what Legrand had gathered, he was something of a pariah amongst his kind, a member of a rather unpopular clan, an expert killer who had sworn to protect his fellow vampires, however much they might dislike him. He was tall, skinny, and fast.

"I am not of your organisation," Takiguchi said in a low voice.

"Now that would be ironic. A vampire in the vampire monitoring branch." Legrand stood. Takiguchi grinned. "Just stay here."

The agent walked up to the woman at the bar, and leaned against it beside her.

"I suppose I should speak some weird code phrase. But I'd rather just apologise for messing your life up."

"I quite understand sir, this is hardly the first time my unit has gone into a situation like this. I think I should start off by giving you some background on my unit, which I and my government would appriciate if it was spread no further than necessary. We're the most highly trained and specialized unit in the Grimdale armed forces, and also the one whose existence is continually denied. Our main diffrence from other units is where's they have the usual 18% proportion of Were's in there compliment, the 'Dogs of War's' complement are not just all Were's, but full Were's (ie: They are not restricted to changing just at night or the full moon.). As it is only a few of our region's leaders even know Were's exist within Grimdale at all. We have been authorized to do whatever is necessary to complete this mission. "The LDMB was set up to watch over our nation's vampires and make sure they posed no threat. They never have. There is no justification for initiating the spark of violence against them. That is where the LDMB, and the Prime Secretary, stand."

He leaned back again, and went on.
"We need to uncover these vampire-hunters wherever they operate in the world, and to do that I'd like us to capture our own traitor. We're sending some of our best agents around the world to assist other nations, and if our traitor is smart, he will make sure he's on one of those teams." He paused to let it sink in. "If you could watch those teams, maybe you could uncover him, and capture him for interrogation. Now," he went on without further pause, "we are also concerned about the safety of vampires here. We do not know where they live and hide, where their leaders are, and they will not tell us, even for protection. But we know one of the locations where they often gather. It's a nightclub in Revane, our capital city, and if our enemy wishes to attack, it is a perfect target. We will have people protecting it, but any additional help..."

He looked up at Baker.
"We are truly grateful, Captain. And I am sure the vampiric authorities, too, will be eager to repay their debt of gratitude any time you might need."

OOC Tag: I’ve not got the time to write anything in detail but I know enough about the world of darkness to be able to pull out some very interesting hunters, vampires and other assorted creatures.

Free Iuthia is a “puppet” nation I created along time ago to represent a faction of Iuthians that wanted to be able to vote, now they have become compulsory consumerists and in secret a large corporation has managed to gain power and corrupt enough officials to make laws to suit their company. Basically it’s based on Pentex, the WoD embodiment of the evil corporation.

Iuthia on the other hand has other problems, some of the religions within their nation aren’t completely happy with Iuthia’s five star treatment of vampires… not to mention the oddity of your everyday person…

“The Awakening” – One of the latest WoD creations is “Hunter” where your everyday normal Joe is all of a sudden “awakened” to the fact that supernatural creatures exist. I’ll be using this one a fair bit in my nation, because it is one of the more fun systems designed for character that aren’t incredibly powerful… but they can always see supernatural beings no matter how much magic they use…

ABANDONED UNDERGROUND STATION
REVANE

Sachet had never truly realised the extent of the underground cris-crossing of disused rail tracks and
stations beneath the capita city - although he had already been told they were home to vampires.
There was a lone figure standing on the dusty platform, as though waiting for a train that would never
come. Sachet exchanged a glance with Ywu, then walked up to the Telcordian agent.

It was Ywu who spoke up first, before Sachet could put a word in. He smiled, revealing just a hint of
exposed fangs. A deliberate gesture, Sachet knew; vampires usually only extended their fangs if they
were scared, angry, hungry or lost control for some reason. He tensed slightly, but Ywu was not about
to assault their guest.

"So... how much do you know about vampires?" Jonathan smirked at Ywu gesture, he knew Telcordia had spent the last 30 years investigating their species and the the way they organized, and he was extremely familiar with with all 13 major clans and the major groups, though the Camerilla had allways been more than willing to assist the governement in return to assist them against their fight against the Sabbat and thankfully after 10 years of fighting the last 5 years almost all of Telcordia was free of the "shovel heads" which made for a rather quiet if not oddly disturbing peace. He didnt look Ywu in the eyes he knew better than that, he simply stared at the creatures chest and and responded non-chalantly

Enough to be dangerous... but Im not here to find out about vampires Im here to gain what information you have on the orginization responsible for these acts. If I wanted to learn about Vampires I'd be more than willing to interview an archon on my own time... if you didnt know they owe us a few boons and we are more than willing to use that to our advantage, Vampires are Kageshin in our country... "shadow spirits" you dont officially exist to the general populace but as you do have several requirements my section is tasked with acting as the Center for Disease Control, Immigration and Naturalization services, and Investigative Services we clean up more messes than most people realize and both sides seem to like it that way, and in return they help keep the country stable and orginized crime complacent and "relatively" harmless... not to mention being some of the best informants and assassins we have... we have turned your "Parasitic" he said those words almost with sound of a blade being drawn a cutting word one intended to try and get a rise out of the Ventrue infront of him. lifestyle into a mutually beneficial society... and I intend to keep it that way... if there is a group causeing trouble we will end it"

he shifted his weight to his left foot almost as if he were waiting for Ywu to attack him but only smirked and reached into his back pocket pulling out a cell phone, and flipped it open answering a text message then closed it and looked back up to Ywu with a smirk.

The agent walked up to the woman at the bar, and leaned against it beside her.

"I suppose I should speak some weird code phrase. But I'd rather just apologise for messing your life up."

Ellen looked at the agent, down at her bottle, and back up. "For messing up my life? There isn't any alcohol in it." She turned the label so Legrand could so. "As for codewords, we never introduced ourselves. I'm Ellen," she held out her hand, "and you are???" The 'are' was drawn out.

Ikioi boarded the Crossbow Transport with the rest of his crew. They were all just as skeptical as he was about this mission. Vampires? He thought. What next, leprichans? The Crossbow lifted out of the base as rocketed towards their destination, Ariddia. They did not know what to expect once they got there, or even where they were going to land. Ikioi just hoped they would be able to gain clearence at a military base or airport. He really didn't feel like walking through forest right now. Deciding that he was not going to go through that again, he walked to the cockpit and radioed Ariddia. "This is the RSF requesting permission to enter airspace, come in. MARAUD has heard about these groups of vampires and their hunters. We do not like the idea of either such groups existing in our borders without our knowlege and manipulating our policies. We wish for an embassador for the vampire people to meet with us and prove to us why they aren't a threat. However we are more unsettled by this group that may put our people in danger by starting a war, if we feel safe enough with the vampires we may give aid in helping them to live, as long as they promise to be more open of their existence in our borders.

Claude Blau slipped into the seat beside the woman in the small, unmarked plane that would ferry them to MARAUD. The engines were just beginning to thrum. He turned to look at her - and almost flinched back.

Her skin was pale, which would seem to indicate she had been undead for a fairly long time. Perhaps that was why she had been chosen, to look "real" enough a vampire in the eyes of MARAUD's authorities. Her hair was blond, frizzy, and streaming down all over the place, unkept. Her eyes were a disconcertingly pale blue, just the shade that makes a person look a little mad...

"Ready to fly?" she asked, then giggled. Blau blinked. Vampires... He would never get used to them.

ENTERING MARAUD AIRSPACE

The vampire woman was looking out of the viewport, her face scrunched up against it. After a moment, Blau noticed she was licking the pane with the tip of her tongue...

In the cockpit, the pilot flicked open communications.
"MARAUD control, this is 469-8223-31." The identification was in fact the code that should provide them with a secure landing spot. "Please confirm authorisation to enter your airspace and touch down. Over."

"Roger that air control, we're on our way," said Ikioi through the comm, a sigh of relief flowing through him. For some reason he had expected something bad to happen. Too many days in the field. "We're all clear people," he said. He could tell they had been expecting something too, they all slouched down into their seats.

Moments later, or so it seemed, the Crossbow was landing at the small airport complex. Scanner sweeps before landing had shown no evidence of any life forms, so they landed with less caution than usual. Upon landing the team jumped out and quickly removed their gear, the Crossbow lifted off almost as fast and left. Once they gave the Crossbow room to lifet off, they moved towards a red door, as directed, and went inside. There, they found and approached a car, Ikioi in the lead, and found it unlocked with a small note confirming it was for their use. Upon entering the driver's seat, Ikioi found yet another note giving very specific directions on where to go.

Once they arrived, Ikioi gave orders to his team to stay in the vehicle. If something went wrong he didn't want the rest of his team dead too. "Give me a half hour," he said ,"If I'm not back in that time, you may come looking for me." He headed into the building with a copy of the note, leaving the original with his team in the car. He found the meeting place with little difficulty, where he met a strange looking man. It didn't bother him much though, he had seen stranger than this in his time. Instead, he brought out his hand and addressed himself,"Lieutenant Ikioi, Riokian Special Forces, pleased to meet you mister..."

OOC: This happens after the meeting with the Telcordian agent.

"Sachet. Michel Sachet." He shook the man's hand. "And this is Ywu... something. Thank you for coming."

"So why are you interested in helping us?" Ywu asked, somewhat undiplomatically perhaps.

Ikioi shifted uneasily, he really wasn't sure if he was comfortable in such a being's presence. The man Ywu seemed to be giving off an aura of some sort. It made him uncomfortable but he was asked to go on this mission and accepted. He fully intended to finish it. "To tell you the truth sir, I am not one-hundred percent sure. I am here because I respect authority, for the most part, and I am following orders. As far as I know my team and I were sent here to help because our military and government felt that an intelligent race, more intelligent than ourselves, was in need of help. Although I am still not really sure what is going on here, I assure you that you have our utmost cooperation." Feeling what he had said surely was adaquate, he gave a small smile and a slight bow. He checked his watch. Ten minutes had passed since he left the vehicle. Twenty minutes was surely enough time to be able to check in. Things seemed to be going well for the moment, he didn't want the vampires to believe him untrustworthy, as he was sure they would if his team came running in after him...

Legrand smiled. "An interesting choice of words, given the circumstances." He paused to order himself a drink, then went on, "I think I know someone who might be able to help you open communication with your vampire population." He looked over towards the table where he had been sitting, and nodded.

Takiguchi stood casually and strolled over.
"Meet a genuine undead, m'lady," he said, sounding only mildly bored. "You may stare."

Ellen gave Takiguchi a look up and down, then held out her hand. "I'm not sure how much of our conversation you were privy to. I am Ellen. Legrand says you may be of help putting me in contact with your...kindrid of my nation."

Over."

"Roger 469-8223-31 we have your beacon. Landing strip is at heading 224, it's that small bunch of hangars. Nothing fancy but it's the best we have right now." As the plane draws closer a small group of vehicles emerge from the hangar. They seem to be a small security force there to greet the new arrivals. As they get lower to the ground they begin to notice something wrong with the base, a complete lack of activity from the ground. Just as the pilot realizes what's going on a small trail of smoke is seen headed his way as a stinger is launched for the aircraft.

OOC: Ok, I’ve started this thread (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1765169&highlight=#1765169) to run along side your thread, I will be posting in your thread once I’ve got to the bit where my vampires and nation get the transmission. I’m running at least five different factions in Iuthia and each of them will react in their own ways… I won’t post them because some are WoD based. But TM me for details of what I’m going to do and what I’m using.

I understand that this thread isn’t about helping your vampires as such, more about our vampires and governments being warned. This is why it is all going to kick off in Iuthia… the warning will be made part of it.

Ywu sighed.
"Just like that, huh? Ah well, we asked you here, after all... The only Assamite I know of is out of the... No, wait," - he snapped his fingers - "I might be able to put you in touch with another. She's fairly new in town, though, and keeps pretty much to herself." His lips curled into a hint of a smile. "I'm sure I can take you to a Nosfe, anyhow. Just don't ask too many questions. Would I be in the accompaniment with you?" She blinks her eyse and smiles. "I have been alone for quite some time andI would like to be given more information on this subject if at all possible."
SHe places her hands together and awaits for his answer. Her eyes now are hazel green.

He scrambled to his feet as she stood.

Ikioi sighed with relief. "Thank you very much, I am interested in this meeting you are speaking of. Hopefully many new alliances may be formed and friendships strengthened," he said now quite happily. He returned to his anxiously awaiting team, who gave a cry of happiness at the news. The tension broke, they were in. The mission was about to begin.

They arrived at the hotel, not at all what they had expected. They had just simply wanted a comfortable place while they stayed, a shack would have done. But this, this was far beyond a shack. They walked through the entrance and checked in with the clerk, who got another man to come to the desk. "Right this way please," he said, looking much more aware of what was going on than the clerk. They came to a metal detector. "Don't worry sir, I am fully aware of what you are carrying. You may bypass it. Turn of the detector Jennings," he said to a man sitting in a chair next to it." Ikioi was amazed at this man, he was certainly not just an average hotel manager. After being escorted to a room, he opened the door and revieled a large room, plenty of space for the 5 person team.
"Wow, these Ariddians treat their guests nicely," Ikioi said in amazement with murmers from the rest of his team. "I'lll have pride in Rioki if we give our visitors half this much." And so they headed to bed after a stressful day and awaited contact from the Ariddian government.

Blau clenched his teeth as the plane slammed upwards and he was compressed against the back of his seat. Somehow, the vampire - whose name he had gathered was Virginie - managed to keep looking out of the viewport. Suddenly, she laughed.

"Here it comes! Fireworks!"

Blau pushed her back into her seat, and gasped as he saw something rushing through the sky towards them. The plane dived... and shuddered horribly.

Moments later, the two pilots appeared in the doorway to the cockpit.
"We're under attack! I've turned us back out towards the sea so we won't crash onto anyone... We need to get out; grab your parachutes!"

Blau and Virginie both struggled with theirs, but with the pilots' help they were soon in the air. The second pilot followed them out at what seemed like the last moment, and Blau wondered whether he would have time to open his chute; they were too low...

He did, however, and Blau turned his attention to the expanse of water looming beneath him...

"Big bath!" Virginie shouted over to him, and he braced himself...

Revane was a vast city, home to tens of millions, and over the past few decades it had expanded upwards at a dizzying rate. Given the laws protecting the surrounding forests and other untouched aspects of nature, up was the only way to go, if Ariddia's booming population was to receive decent housing. What few people realised was that there was life under the city, too.

There was the underground, of course. Then under that, sewerage, a relic from the city's early times, when the post-colonial government had begun industralisation. That was where life resided far beneath prying eyes.

Ywu sighed as he lowered himself from the rungs of a disused ladder, and his feet splashed into water that looked far too stagnent.

He led his guest deeper into the criss-crossing, dark tunnels, then after a while stopped. He stood still for a few long moments. Then,

"There are those who would be insulted by your request," he whispered, then let silence hang in the air just long enough for it to become mildly uncomfortable. "Those who would hunt vampires did not come to a sudden and utter awareness of us. Often, in the early days of their understanding, they attempt to tell others of their fears, they begin to act in ways that seem strange to most mortals. Not all paranoid or eccentric people are would-be vampire killers, but amongst them or those who apparently 'recovered' from their madness, you will find the threats you seek."

MINOR ARIDDIAN GOVERNMENT BUILDING
REVANE

The Prime Secretary stood and gave a slight, respectful bow as Lady Amanda was shown into his office. It wasn't a big room, but then the building itself was fairly inconspicuous, lost amongst residential ones; the only difference were the two soldiers posted in the entranceway, out of view of passerbys.

The seats in the room were comfortable, however, and drinks had been made available.

"Lady Amanda. Please, make yourself comfortable. I must apologise for the. . . somewhat unglossy aspect of this place, but I did not want to draw public attention to our meeting. At least not unless you wish it otherwise." He smiled. :How much have you been told so far?"

Have you set up a meeting place, secure and safe, for these groups to come together and talk things out? Or are they too agressive? I do not know the measures you have taken. Therefore, I would really like to know what you have done and what you plan to do. Also, if it is okay for me to put input into what you say, or will I be crossing lines?"
Lady Amanda rested her hands on her knees and cocked her head at the Prime Secretary. She couldn't figure him out, why would the meeting place matter, there are more important things at stake, literally. Oh well, he probably was trying to be nice and accommadate to her needs. "Back a few decades, there was a scare following a rash of attacks. A fair few were found, fewer released. It lead to a local corporation developing a vaccine. Since then, there have been very few attacks. Bitting someone who's taken the vaccine is supposed to be rather painful.

"Anyway, no one I know holds any particular grudge against them. Few people are racist, sexist, or any other 'ist'...everyone is pretty much equally cruel and spiteful to everyone else.

"So there has been contact between individuals, there almost certainly still is. But as far as I know, there has never been contact between groups. There has never been a reason for it.

"As for me going back? I have freedom of movement to accomplish my task. If going back is the way to do it, I will."

"Interesting..." Legrand mused. "Your perspective could be very useful to us." He exchanged a look with the now once-more silent Takiguchi, then asked, "Would you like to come back to Ariddia with us for an international meeting? Or we could go to Wazzu and begin coordinating defence with vampires there..."

"I'm not a diplomat," Ellen pointed out, "I can't negotiate for my nation if that is the kind of meeting it is. But even then, that doesn't stop me from attending.

"At the same time, I am a contact person. Coordination will be through a...bureau of my government. Consequently, I suggest we do both.

"I can contact my government and set up a meeting in Wazzu to get things going on there, and then attend this meeting of yours myself as an observer and reference if nothing else. But we are not limited, so this is up to you."

OOC: Would both be too much for you to track?

"Yes, more information is always good. Why not get a respected vampire and sit down and talk with them. Most of what is said about them are myths. I still think that we need collaborative work. Things won't get solved if we don't work together. Maybe get a group to go in on their turf and speak with them. At least on thier land they might feel threatened. I would volunteer to go. I would need others though. What do you think? Is there others that would support this and go with me?"

Ikioi was getting bored. "I'm heading down to the bar guys," he said in a casual voice. There were murmers of consent. Ikioi shrugged and headed down the hallway and to the elevator. Once inside, he met an old lady who was smiling at him. He grinned back.

"So, what are you doing here son?" she asked.

"Not sure miss...not sure.." his voice trailed off. The elevator made a ping sound and the doors opened. Ikioi stepped out and sidled into the bar. Smoke seemed to be everywhere. "Sickening..." he muttered under his breath. All these corporate men smoking cigars. They were the ones that bothered him more than the cigars they had in their mouths. So ignorant. He thought. They have no idea what's going on around them, as long as they aren't affected. He chose a stool farther from the smoke and chatter.

"What can I get for you, vodka? Tequila? Gin and Tonic?" came a voice from behind the counter. Ikioi looked up.

"Wha....huh? Oh, sorry. No, I don't drink. Do you just have a root beer or something?" he said. The bartender eyed him suspicously. "Designated driver," he lied. The man laughed and slid Ikioi a water.

"Alright, whatever," said the man with a grin and walked away. Ikioi sat there in silence for awhile. "You okay Mitchell?" came a voice from behind. Ikioi looked up behind him to see Jade standing beside his bar stool.

"Yeah Jade, I'm fine. Thanks," he replied. "Just a little stressed you know?" Jade nodded. "What are the guys up to?"

"About their fiftieth game of poker for the evening, not much," she said with a laugh. "Hey bartender, I'll take a water to please." She took a seat next to Ikioi. "What do you think of this whole thing?"
"I don't know what to think," he said with a sigh. "It's kind of a shock, you know? All this time you believe something is only myth and then suddenly you in the middle of a fight trying to help them. It's just so sudden. Oh well," he finished off his glass. "How about you?"

"I don't know either-" she was cut off from a sudden disturbance that seemed to have arisen from the upper floors of the hotel, people were streaming down the stairwells screaming. "What the hell?!" she exclaimed. The both darted for the stairwells and waited for it to empty out to they could draw their pistols without causing more panic. They approached the first set of stairs with caution, they could guess what had happened. They headed up the first flight of stairs then up two more to their room's floor. Just as suspected, the room's door was thrown ajar. As they entered the entire room seemed to be ripped apart. They went to a small counter to find a note on it with a single phrase: "N-8". Understanding the message perfectly they left the hotel and rented a car. As soon as they had arrived at the hotel they had come up with a place to meet should something go wrong and the code for it. While driving to the hotel they had found an abandoned warehouse. The codename they had given this place was N-8. It was time to find out what had happened in the hotel room minutes before.

Jade and Ikioi got in the car and drove off. It wasn't hard to stay safely under the speed limit, panicked people were leaving the hotel by the dozens. They drove around in circles for about a half-hour to throw off anyone that might have been following them. Turning into an allyway, they stopped the car and moved into the warehouse. As predicted, his the rest of his team was waiting inside. Two of them were wounded.
"Thank God you're here Lieutenant! Todd and Nicholi have been hit," said one of the team. "We were just sitting in the hotel room when some armed guys came cashing through the window. They couldn't have caught us more off-gaurd. We tried running for our weapons, but they headed us off. I don't know how we managed to shake them off of us. Must've been the crowd, but still."

"Any idea who they were?"

"No sir, they kept going on and on about how we were 'betraying our kind' and how we were 'demon worshippers'. They all wore masks and tactical gear. This isn't some random terrorist group Lieutenant, they meant business. Seemed more like assasins to me."

Jade was busy tending to the downed members. The other man was fidgeting nervously.

"So you don't even have your weapons then?"

"No sir."

"Damn it. I'll need to contact Sachet..." Ikioi dialed the cell that had been given on the note in the car.

OOC: Can I suggest maybe that all the nations that are assisting you maybe meet somewhere and then we all can converse together. It might also be easier for you, instead of responding to each individual, but us as a whole group. And you still can respond to us individually, but we will all be there. Just a suggestion.

OOC: Yeah, at least "the meeting" can take place somewhere else. And if viewers really want to know what happened, we can copy paste the meeting's comments on here.
