Several Prominent members of the Fasta Benj branch of the roman catholic church today announced their support for pope Indolence I. The church is planning to send a delegation to give oaths of fealty to the pope, to be led by cardinal Antonius.

In response to International criticism, Pope Indolence has announced the Pope is Rome to be possessed by Satan, following this proclamation he proceeded to excommunicate the entire population of Syskeyia.

In National Klatchian News the creation of a new Dyellian pontif maximus Has created an diplomatic and domestic problems for the Alconian government.

The Archbisop of Neubayern has called for the excommunication of the Dyellian Preist.

At the same time, a group of catholic laymen and several priests have written a letter to the new Pope asking for the
reestablishment of indulgences to bring the truly faithful to return to the flock...

One man has even called himself the Cardinal of Alcona, interveiwing his wife we have found that the man supports the abolishment of wives divorcing men, the laws against polgamy, and dropping the statutory rape age to twelve. It has been noted that the man is not Alconian, but a refugee from some small speck in the Atlantic.

At present the government has recognized the new relgious leader as the
Pontif Maximus Minimus. And asked that all Catholic churches hold both tradtional services at 9:00 and "new" services at 12:30.

Pope Indolence's immediate response to the response in Alcona and Hubris was to declare an excommunication of the Archbisop of Neubayern as well as to assure people that indulgences would shortly be on the market once again.

He also announced the reestablishment of an Inquisition and spoke out against polygamy and divorce, although he did hint that indulgences for these sins would be among the first on the market.

Matthew Cardinal Walsh finished reading the article and tossed it on the table. He stood and walked to the window of his sitting room in the residence of the Excalbian Ambassador to the Vatican. Another week another anti-pope. Well, no time to waste worrying about it. Need to get ready for Cardinal Richelieu. Walsh smiled. We rescinded that excommunication, respecting the requests of Cardinal Duras' will. The Pantocratorian Council of the Church apologises for its divisive bull of excommunication before. Although we don't approve of messing with the sacrament of marriage, it wasn't our place to excommunicate you, nor was it worth further fragmenting the Church over.

(OOC: obviously you didn't read the death of Cardinal Duras thread, that's cool, but we did rescind the excommunication, honest!)

Furthermore, the Church in Pantocratoria recognised one Holy See, the Holy See of Rome. That bishopric is currently held by John Paul II, wherefore John Paul II is the one and only Pope. We are tired of schismatic antipopes, so why don't you excommunicate us like the antipope Pious XIV of the "True Holy See" did?

The delegation from Fasta Benj has finally set out for Dyelli Beybi by Antonov aircraft, heading for Cyro airport. The delegation is lead by Cardinal Antonius, and is mainly clergymen. However, Two of them are not: Count Rofocale of Swampton, and an unnamed young man. The count is there as the princes representative to any discussions open to the public, while the young mans purpose has not been stated. The delegation has expressed a desire to meet with the tzar, and to discuss with His Holiness the appointment of a cardinal for the Nac Mac Feegle, for which role Father Hobbe has been put foward.

Reporting on scene Debby Carmen, here in Caira located in the northern Jiggady Islands. A scene of peace has turned into a scene of violence as various religious groups have taken to the street against one another.

The scene started around Ten oclock local time when roughtly Three thousand took to the streets proclaiming their faith to Pope Indolence I, who a few days ago proclaimed his right to the title of Pope. The reactions to this have been scene and heard all over the world from nations in support or opposition to this "Radical."

The fact that this has touched Jiggady comes as a surprise to many, due to the nations distinct athiest views. However, Caira has largely been accepted as a city of religious freedom within the Jiggady borders.

The ceremonies of faith had started peacefully and lasted nearly three hours until thousands others flooded to the streets who maintained that the pope in Rome was the only true pope and that any false leaders would be struck down. Both groups maintained peace for another hour, until extreme elements from both groups began small pockets of fighting which eventually spred throughout most of the streets in Caira.

Jiggady National Defense Force, troops were detached almost immediatly to quell the turmoil. Currently troops have dispensed much of the crowd, and have put the city under curfiew for the night. Several streets are still controlled by the various radical elements of the religious groups who have taken to fighting the Military forces along with each other. More reports as details unfold. The associates weren`t exactly worried. Except Althena/ Soldats, they were, like most DA citizens, quite atheistic.

However, some of them were pretty sure that this was yet one more step to the end of religion.

And that couldn´t be so bad.

However, Althena, as always, had a somewhat different opinion.

Neither the government nor the Church in Finara recognizes Indolence I as the legitimate Pope. Preaching his heresies is banned in public schools and his adherents are officially prohibited from delivering sermons in Finaran churchers. All ordained priests in Finara who adhere to him have been held to be heretics by a tribunal of the Church.
