(Yeah, go for it. I was just waiting to see where this was going)
More show-tricks are done. Marche walks out on to the field. "Ahem. If the Larkinian, Iansislean, and Agrigentian ambassadors would follow me after the unveiling ceremony... thanks."
The archers and targets quickly clear away. A truck rolls in, and a large item is unloaded and bolted into the concrete. "Ahem.
"The Marche Islands. Our beautiful, green home. The place we took from barest rock to paradise. The home of the best-trained infantry force in the world. Yes, others have their weapons, but we have sheer human power.
"Years ago, my father came to these islands. He built the machines that took us from nothing to riches.
"And so, tonight, we unveil the statue that will stand eternally here on Life's Peak, where the first Plant was." He snaps the cover off the life-sized statue of Edwin Marche the First, a giant of a man with a sword strapped to his back. "Thus concludes tonight's ceremony. All members of the military stationed here are granted night passes. May I recommend the Dragon's Arse?"
Marche steps down from the podium to cheers from the crowd and walks over to the diplomats. "Yes... I'd like to speak to you."

Jason clapped when appropriate, keeping a close eye on Marche to try and get a gauge of him. He was a little surprised when the man asked to meet with him, Christian, and that Agrigentian. Some sort of play aimed at the New Highlands countries? He wasn't sure, but after the ceremony, he glanced over at his Larkinian counterpart. "Shall we?"
"Right. As I'm sure you're all aware, my father was from the Iansislean Commonwealth, particularly the Gadsan region. My father's best friend, the Commander of our police and military force, Ivan Black, is a Larkinian of Daezemani descent. Also, my wife, Maria, was born in Agrigento. We are, of course, interested especially in allying with your respective countries."

"I see, from what I have seen thus far, your nation appears to be an honorable country with great integrity and a spotless reputation. I see a lot of promise here, and predict a bright future between our two nations.", he paused, "Oh..and what part of Agrigento is your wife from?"
(ooc: North, South, or Saldenia Island. We still have some leftover regionalism.)
"The north reaches. She came here with the first of us, when I was ten and she nine. We met on the ship. Love at first sight, for the last forty years."

Jason listened impassively. "I can understand that," he nodded. "Naturally, however, Iansisle can't just go giving alliances to every new nation. I'm sure, however, if you were to propose it to our Combined Parliament, we could at least see into opening trade relations. You would, of course, have my personal reccomendation."

"Ah, North...thats where my family is from. Luckily Il Presidente is against regionalism -unlike the last president- otherwise I would have real trouble with our current government.", he laughed, remembering President Costanzo's term in office. "Now, back to the matters at hand, I would just like you to know that I am eager to start trade negiotations with you, I mean its my reason for being here and all"
"I thank you. Oh. Will you be staying the night?" Marche turns to the Agrigentian. "Ah, you'll want to speak to Lord Kelvin about trade, most likely. He's the steam-baron who designed the Plants."

"Ah I see, well I am quite exhausted from my trip here and the festivities, I think I shall head to bed"
ooc: And to RL bed I go, goodnight.

Christian nodded, "yeah, let's go. Any idea what this is about?"

OOC: aka the kiss of death ;)
Marche yawns. "It's about time for night's tea and then bed. Anyone care to join me for a spot of Earl Grey, possibly?"

OOC: aka the kiss of death ;)
(hehe...shhhh ;) Maybe Jason could just say he hated them. That'd make the MoFA put M.I. on our short-list for future allies!)
"I'll set the Ministry of Finance onto the Lord Kelvin as soon as I can," nodded Whittimere, glancing about as others began to retire. "Yes, I think I would care for some tea, if it pleases you. Christian, I hope you'll be joining us as well?

"Absolutely," Christian said walking with the men. "A cuppa tea would hit the spot."
"Good, good." Marche enters the Kelvin limousine parked by the grounds. "Hop in, fellows, this will take us to my home."

Jason eyed the vehicle carefully, before climbing in. "Nice buggy," he nodded, looking about.

Christian slid into the limo. "Very nice," he said eying the interior.
Not too bad.
"So where are we headed?"
"Well, either we have a little trip off to Tribute, where I usually stay, or we go to the busy house in Marche City. I prefer Tribute House, myself."
