The Ruschic air force big-wigs wish to send a few of their top-ranked fighter pilots to the air show as a governmental prize, mostly in hopes of getting a little more work ethic out of the rest of the air force. The pilots include Mr. Glenn Gordon, Tuxedo Ral, and Fel Banon.

We would like to send a diplomat to the show; however, please do not be surprised if he does not turn up. We have had some.....problems....in our nation recently, and it is a possibility they may not attend.

Elizabeth looked over the piece of paper inviting her to go to the airshow, and decided to accept. Her father had been a pilot, and she like aircraft.

I would like to announce that I plan to be in attendance at this event. Comming from a military flight family, I'm sure it will be fairly entertaining and enjoyable, and give me the ability to establish better relations with other countries. I will arrive the day before the show starts if that is acceptable to your government. I look forward to attending

Foreign Minister Davis will get in touch with your clerical staff to confirm transportation procedures shortly.

Also, we have still have several vintage planes that can be showcased at the air show, provided adequate transportation can be arranged to bring them over for the period of the show.
Our acrobatics team flies several of these crafts nearly daily, and are avialable for the show if required.

As for the foreign minister, we will allow him in this case.

Just to clarify, By showcased I meant on the ground or in a musuem- these planes are too old and valuable to be flown anymore (2 of them are WWI Models), therefore transportation would be needed for them.

We thank you for allowing Foriegn minister Davis to attend, and hope that this improves relations.

OOC: Man, it feels like it's been forever since I saw this topic. Nice to see the airshow's actually gonna commence without us having to "pretend" it does.

IC:

Glenn Gordon tugged at his Ruschic aviator's uniform uncomfortably in the midst of the thousands of people around him. He didn't care a great deal for crowds this large, but that was what he got if he wanted to attend the Omzian airshow. And besides, he was here with two of his comrades, at the expense of Ruschi's government, since they felt he was one of their greatest aerial weapons. A little free leave was never looked upon harshly, but at the same time, just the sight of some of these aircraft left Glenn itching to get back in the cockpit of his own Su-37.

It could be dealt with, though, as could the enormous crowds of rubberneckers and know-it-alls. It took Glenn and his fellow fighter pilots a good while, but they eventually found themselves examining an Omzian F/A-22 Raptor.

"I'll be dogged," Tuxedo Ral's big mouth was blurting, "why don't we fly anything like that? Our air force thinks we're the best pilots in Ruschi, so why not?"

Glenn rolled his eyes. "Because the military is too worried about us breathing on them too hard."

The Ruschic air force did indeed have Raptors, but a very small number of them. The nation had actually purchased them from the Omzian military, used, so Glenn had wanted to check out the Raptors first when the doors to the airshow finally opened. While the aircraft impressed him, though, he still liked the Su-37 "Super Flanker" just fine. So did the Ruschic air force, thankfully.

Without warning, Tux reached out and knocked on the hull of the Raptor, nearly causing Glenn to have a siezure.

"For the love of gators, Tux," the Ruschic pilot grumbled, swapping the darned fool's arm away from the plane, "are you tryin' to get us thrown out?"

"I just wanted to make sure it had the same material as the ones they sold us!" was the less-than-amused retort, however at fault Tux may have been.

"Oh, so knocking on it will tell you if it is. You couldn't tell titanium from a block of cheese anyway, so just watch what you do around here." Glenn sighed. The very last thing he honestly needed was to get thrown out of the airshow or arrested or something because of Tux's ignorant nosey-ness. At least he had the actual airshow itself to look forward to soon...

OOC: Just felt like doing that for some reason, hope you don't mind none. These two have been fiction characters of mine for a while...

"Something wrong, Admiral Brosgarth?" Doctor Marianne Brooks adjusted her glasses as she sipped at her glass of champagne. Although she usually fitted the typical "lab geek" in terms of appearance. Today, she was stunning. A flowing red dress showed off her figure while her long hair flowed down her back. Most of the men in the VIP area had tried to make a quick score by trying to boast their knowledge of aircraft, not knowing Brooks was, in fact, head of Adejaani Aerospace Inc, which was her nation's leading aircraft design and manufacturing firm. She was also the brainchild of the aircraft which Brosgarth was snorting and pointing to.

"We should be FLYING one, not sitting around while the crowds 'ooh!' and 'ah!'! Hardly anybody even remembers we DESIGNED it!" Rear Admiral Zac "Nightshade" Brosgarth practically spat the words out, hardly bothering to keep his voice down as he turned away from the window. Although his Naval Aviator's wings which sat just above the rows of awards ribbons on his best dress uniform, topped off with two Admiral's stars on his shoulder boards, once a pilot, always a pilot. Despite his rank, he had been Chief Test Pilot and had been involved in every step of the way, from specification, to design, to flying tests.

"Look, Nightshade, at least we can be assured that the bird's probably one of the best interceptors and medium strike aircraft in the world. It's not our show. But at least we build it, we use it and we LOVE it. And we also profit from it."

"But I still think we should be the ones piloting it. It's OUR plane, after all."

"I agree with you." Brosgarth rewarded Brooks with a surprised look, but she was looking out the window and Brosgarth's gaze returned too. The mighty F-14F Tomcat II. The finest Adejaani aircraft ever produced and marketed and they hardly got any credit for it. Only profits.....

The Vice Secretary-General tended to sit quietly at his table and talk about matters of state with his own staff. The quiet man did the expected walk around of the air show and a couple of photo-ops, but he really didn't like to travel often and was generally much better at dealing with domestic affairs. It was widely believed that Sec-Gen Annalise Brown specifically sent her second-in-command on this trip to try to broaden his international horizons a bit.

The Aerospace Forces Chief of Staff and the CEO of the Transdynamics Consortium, on the other hand, were almost constantly out in the crowd. The two men were eager to shake people's hands, direct civilians and other foreign visitors to go look at the XF-15 ACTIVE fighters on display, and talk about the 'Ultraliner' they flew in on. The Transdynamics CEO, unsurprisingly, had his staffers ready with brochures and business cards for anyone that was interested in their wares.

The XF-15 pilots were content to stay with their planes and talk about them, within unclassified limits, to the people visiting the air show. The two men and two women seemed especially pleased to show off their "babies" to the children that came by.

Can I send a B-4B to be put on display(and possibly make a fast fly-by)

The Omzian People's Liberation Air Force's Marshall Garea Plunton is there, staying at a luxury hotel. Although he is on this special trip to see is very own Air Force's performance, he is also very concerned about the Navy and Army aircraft.

"Damnit, the F-14F is late? What's the people at the PLN saying?", he asked his advisor, sitting beside him and drinking coffee and tea.

"Well, it sounds that they still hasn't prepared. Until then, we would have to delay the foreign aircraft entry to make way for the PLN aircraft.", the advisor answered, concerned.

"Get me the NMAB and those hosts of the airshow. Tell them, the navy needs to speed up."

"Very well sir."

Abysord Air Force Base, near Osaria
9:02AM

Finally, the airshow kicked off.

A crowd of peopel can be seen: schoolchildren, young mens, old war veterans, military officals. Cars and other automobiles piled up at the roads near: limos, luxury sport cars, school buses, Greyhound buses, and small civilian cars --- SUVs, trucks, and sport cars. The people were already lining up at the ticket booths, with the other citizens and schoolchildrens going through the wide variety of aircraft on display. The military and foreign officals however, are sitting and walking in a special VIP area --- with some other officals joining the citizens and browsing through the static displays of the helicopters, fighter jets, and even missiles and UAVs.

The airshow phase has begin.

A squad of 6 F-14F Tomcat II fighter kicked off the air. The beautiful bodies of these birds straked across, in close formation. Immediately, they dived town, and up --- lefting 3 stripes behind: red, blue, and green --- the colors of the Omzian flag. The aircraft continued its show, spinning in the vast, blue sky.

Magnificant sight.

"Look at her go!" Rear Admiral Brosgarth crowed as the Tomcat IIs streaked past the VIP box. In addition to the deafening roar of the engines, there was an extremely subtle vibration as the air was pushed aside by the fantastic output of energy. Down in the crowd, hats and programmes went flying away from people. "Oh, you're not serious, are you?"

Marianne Brooks was sitting cross legged in one of the comfortable armchairs, a glass of champagne nearby, already flat. Despite the flowing red dress which was showing her curves, she had a calculator out, a pen clenched in her teeth and another scribbling over the folder in her lap.

Brosgarth caught a glimpse of a large space station as he lifted the folder out of her lap. Though tempted to, he didn't throw it out the window. "You. Are here. To relax and to represent Adejaani. There will be no more work while this is going on!" Brosgarth shoved a folder towards one of the Adejaani Secret Service Agents, who locked it into a briefcase.

"Are we having fun yet?" Brooks sipped at her flat champagne as she watched the aerobatics over their heads, wishing she was back at work. If only she had that folder again......

24-10-2003, 05:14
Incidentally, live fire exercises are also commercing with the air show.

Suddenly, the 6 Tomcat IIs broke up --- as they went down. Then, the jets opened their afterburners, and flew in a magnificant "Arrow" formation, flying towards the VIP seats. Suddenly, one fires an ATM-54 Phoenix training missile. The ATM-54 --- clearly visible --- fled as another "pilotless" plane, and fell onto the ground --- a grassplain, to be exact.

then, all broke up again. 3 flew to the east, 3 flew to the west, diving in and then climbing out, still having their afterburners on. The waves of the supersonic speed can be heard.
