Where are we going? Should we be checking out the nearest town?

"We will move north, to the nearest town, and warn them of the danger." Whiptail states, beginning to move in that direction.

Omnus follows Whiptail walking on the balls of his feet.

We would make better time, if someone could just teleport us there...

Kain followed on, his blue cloak billowing behind him, making him appear greater than he actually was. Kain remained hard faced as the small snowflakes landed upon his green leathery skin, freezing upon contact.

"I can do no such thing, not at this time....Not with this many people. It would drain me too much...." Kain said as he crunched through the snow, his taloned feet leaving strange footprints in the snow.

kain was telling a partial truth. He might have been able to teleport them....but he wanted to see how these vampires acted.....

OOC: He won't be back, he just spammed to spam.

IC: Whiptail continues north with his odd stride, picking up the pace slightly. He didn't want to miss the chance to engage in combat with a vampire, should there be one waiting at the town.

As the others started off Sarah's group held silent council:
Damn! It's been too long since we fed to head to a different town and this appears to be the hunting group we heard of. Sarah delivered the thought to the others minds.
If it comes to a fight I don't think we can win, at least not without serious sacrifices. Nikolas responded.
It just figures that the last hunters managed to bind our teleportaion abilitys, at least for awhile. Kristopher* commented.
What do you propose we do? asked Risika.
Act normally for now, perhaps ask Kain for that demon blood we should resort to hunting as a last resort. Nikolas replyed.
Fine they all agreed.

OCC: Ezrith and company has been dissolved correct?

*Note: this is not a new character just Christopher, I decided to change the name.

Whiptail was wary of the vampires communication. He couldn't hear them, the thought-message was a murmur in the back of his mind. This group will have to be watched closely... he thought, wishing that his connection to the earth-magicks was stronger.

Winter trailed behind both groups, untroubled by the cold, and no longer caring to remain concealed -- though, come to that, her pigmentless skin and hair blended into the fallen snow so well that only her dark garment truly stood out.

The group traveled not speaking much until they reached the village border. It was reaching night time, the flames of the weary guard atop of the pallisade walked along in thier chainmail. They looked accasionally, thier breath going up into the air in great puff of condensation.

They shivered a little, but they still ahd their bows ready for any would be invader. They had been receieving reports of disturbances.

Kain did not know what exactly he would do now....he said to Whiptail, "I will keep a watch out, I am afraid my appearance is not....suited for this. And either way, I can keep better watch...." Kain whispered, so that no other person could hear.

fading frmo view, becomeing a low mist, Kain dissapeared as he walked...he became the mist.

OOC: Thanks for keeping the thread alive while I'm gone, KI.

IC: Whiptail nodded in agreement. He made his way over to the gate, rapping on the wood and iron surface with scaly knuckles. A small door opened in the gate, and a man, blue eyes red from lack of sleep, peered out. "What?" He asked impatiently. Whiptail's eyes narrowed. "There is danger among you. Allow myself and my companions to enter and we will share our wisdom with you." Whiptail answers, fixing the man with his golden gaze.
24-10-2003, 21:50
Kain seeped through the narrow spaces between each wooden stake....he relised that he could us them as an advantage....yet he shivered almost as he stoked by the one thing which could kill him. He pressed on. He heard the conversaton between Whiptail and the man.

He looked on, his presance was only a low mist on the snow covered floor. Kain whipered a subliminal, a spell which helped to convince somone.

"He speaks the truth....I know the man." Kain whispered, as though the wind was speaking to his companion.

"he speaks the truth, I know this man from a long time ago. He is a freind Klaus...let him in. It is freezing outside...." Garrick said, putting down his body from the top of the palisade.

The gate opens, and Whiptail and the others step through. Whiptail headed towards the nearest fire. Being a reptile, he was unaccustomed to the cold, despite the insulation that his cloak offered. He had enchanted it himself long ago, to resist the elements such as frost and fire, and it had held, until his duel with Zektal, who had gashed it, weakening the enchantment. Whiptail made a mental note to repair it and to infuse a new soul into it, to strengthen its power. He sat down near the blaze, feeling the chill melt away from his body.

They were all reaching the breaking point and would not be able to resist the hunger much longer. Instead of entering the building they turned away and started to enter the forest to find some animals to feed on, though animals would not completely sate them it would keep the bloodlust at bay. Kain Sarah sent the thought to him My group has to feed, we're almost at the breaking point. We are going into the forest to hunt some animals, though this on't completely sate us it's better than the alternative.

IC:

The hunter's holy whip-flail crashed down on Arcauld repeatedly, each strike paralysing him with holy power. Cold snow sunk melted through his coat...And so, this will be my end? No, no, NO!

Anger boiled inside Arcauld. Slowly, his muscles moved against the whip, one pale hand reaching up and grabbing it like lightning. The whip wrapped around the vampire's hand, holy pain forcing its way through Arcauld's arm, but his mind was numbed by the angry bloodlust within. Swiftly he leapt at Samuel, uppercutting him. As Samuel fell backwards, Arcauld felt the tension in the whip lessen, and rolled away, poised to strike at the mortal.

"You put up a good fight, for an old man."

Samuel looked up, hatred burning in his eyes, and felt around for one of the bottles strapped to his back.

"But I'm afraid this shall be your final resting place. Your time on this world has come to an end, Samuel." Arcauld said as he unsheathed Mormegil, the Dark Blade.

Samuel smiled, throwing the bottle at Arcauld in one swift motion, his arm a blur. Arcauld dived out of the way, as the holy water erupted into flames on the tree behind Arcauld. Oddly, the fire did not seem to spread, and was extinguished within a few seconds. By that time, both combatants were on their feet, weapons in hand.

Samuel struck first, and Arcauld moved to parry the attack. The whip wrapped around Mormegil, and the two began struggling against each other. Arcauld won, pulling Samuel towards him, but the hunter had anticapated the move. As Arcauld moved in to elbow Samuel, he brought his other arm up to block it and kicked the vampire in the stomach.

Even his boots were lined with holy studs, and a flash of divine power lit up the clearing momentarily as the kick connected. Both of the fighters were thrown back, their weapons disappearing into the dark forests. There was no time to retreive them.

"Now, Samuel. Die." Arcauld drew his other weapon, and Vorpal sword, it's blade shifting in the moonlight. He brought the weapon in a downwards arc towards Samuel, but the hunter dodged it and kicked the vampire in the face.

Arcauld stumbled into a tree, momentarily dazed by the attack, and Samuel went in to finish the job.

"Fists of fury!" Samuel flew towards Arcauld, his fists a yellow blur of heavenly wrath. Arcauld saw the hunter coming, and brought his blade up to meet Samuel. He couldn't dodge it in time.

As Samuel fell backwards, he clutched at his chest, a massive gash going from his hip to his shoulder. No, not like this...not like this...

"This is truly your end, Samuel Belmont. You fought well. A true warriors death. And now I shall feast on your flesh, pitiful mortal." Dark malice consumed Arcauld's eyes, turning them black and red.

"Any fool can" He coughed slightly before continuing," throw some holy water around. But I wouldn't be a Belmont if I couldn't do this..."

Samuel reached for another bottle of holy water, watching the bemused look on Arcauld's face. He held the vial up to the night, and closed his eyes, whispering a few syllables. Many wouldn't have heard it, but Arcauld realised too late..."Hydro Storm"

Celestial power poured out of the tube, carrying the holy water up into the sky. As bright clouds appeared above the forest, Samuel's body slumped backwards, limp, lifeless. Holy water showered down on the vampire, blinding his senses, forcing him downwards, deeper, deeper...

As Nikolas slunk through the forest tracking a deer it started raining. Good, he thought, it will make this easier. Then the first drops hit him. "Ahh," the hiss of pain escaped his mouth before he could silence it. It wasn't so much the pain that got him, it was the holiness of it. His kind of vampires were not much affected by holy water, as this seemed to be, however this was imbued by magic. Eventually the rain would wear him down, possibly kill him, if he didn't regain his power.
He saw the deer up a head and as he leapt towards it he dealt it a blow with his mind, weak, just enough to put it to sleep. He landed and began to feed.

My girls didn’t go with the group heading to the town thy just went the other way! :? Sorry for the unconveniant...good luck with the RP. :) ))))

Arcauld lay there, motionless, the power of the Belmonts drilling holes into his back. As the rain subsided, he felt his body fall back under his own control, though barely, and dragged himself through the snow, towards the fallen hunter.

Piercing Samuel's warm neck with his fangs, Arcauld began drinking, and instantly felt the power from Samuel flow through his body. Already he felt some of his former power returning...
28-10-2003, 20:30
Kain explored the area...he came accross this vampire feeding. He was still in mist form, but no doubt did this person notice Kain. Kain had many items which radiated magic.

"What is the meaning of this?" Kain asked, his form flowing around Arcauld's legs, the cold fog swirling unaturally. His voice was deep and strong, and came fom all directions it seemed.
28-10-2003, 20:38
Arcauld felt the mist curl around his leg...unnatural mist. He must have missed the approaching creature while he fed. His natural instincts made him leap up and shapeshift, but into a wolf!? He needed more blood from the hunter. He had to get his mist power back.

Arcauld landed on his paws, growling. Foam dripped from his gaping maw, as he turned left and right, failing to see exactly where the creature was in all the fog.
28-10-2003, 20:43
Kain began to form slowly from the mist, his presance crystalising from the mist in fron of the mist.

"One must wonder the true intention of this feed. Why did this man need to die? I am neither ally nor enemy yet, I am simply watcher. Answer my questions truthfully, I know if you would lie. Why did this mortal deserve to die?" Kain asked, his own features hard faced and with icy calmness.
28-10-2003, 20:47
As Kain shifted into his vampiric form, Arcauld saw instantly that he was not a normal vampire. He was an elder, one of the greatest, most powerful vampires ever to have existed. Much like...

The wolf shook it's head, shifting back into it's vampire form.

"This hunter attacked me for no reason. He almost killed me. I must feed to regain my strength." This much, at least, was true. The hunter had come looking for him.
28-10-2003, 20:51
"I see, so this killing was not made out of the basic need to quence the never ending thirst, the forfil your appitite?" Kain wanted to make certain, he was the interigator, he had perfect control over the situation. Kain looked at the lifeless body...and stared back into his eyes.

Kain's eyes where a deep segmented brown, behind those eyes was great pain yet much wisdom.
28-10-2003, 20:55
"No, the kill was made in self-defense. I was feeding to regain the strength that his holy powers stripped me of. "

Arcauld was angry. Angry at himself, at his weakness. He was too weak to stand up to this old vampire, and that was what he was. He may be older and wiser, but he was older and slower. And here he was, telling half-truths with a silver tongue, out of fear. One day...someday...
28-10-2003, 21:00
"I can tell that you are telling me half truths, yet...you are not lying completely. I am content...for the time being. Feed then, I still have much to ask you still." Kain said to Arcauld, as he walked away still staring at him until the end when he could not be seen as he walked into the shadows.

Kain dissapeared, for the time being. He still kept a watch however, Arcauld knew that he still was. There where still questions to be asked.
28-10-2003, 21:11
That...was it? No inquisition? Hmph. Arcauld had expected more of an elder.

He had no time to wonder about this vampire though, and quickly returned to feeding. Arcauld drained the hunter's blood, save for a few drops. That was all he needed. He stood up, closed his eyes, and began chanting ancient words. Dark words, words of power.

"-Thandras Dru Naxil Karas...Soul Steal!"

The soul of the fallen hunter was ripped from his final resting place, destined to forever empower Arcauld unless he was killed.

Arcauld bent down, and finished off the rest of the hunter's blood. He felt refreshed. Now he was ready. Not for an elder, perhaps, but now he could sense another presence in the forest. A mere fledgling, perhaps. He may not even need to kill him, if he could persuade him...
28-10-2003, 21:21
Kain felt the vampire cast that spell....he let it go for now.

"Follow me." Kain ordered, as he walked away into the woods, he was far from done. His deep purple Cloak flew behind him.
28-10-2003, 21:28
Grrr. He was feeling more and more hatred for this vampire with every passing second. Not only was he too strong for Arcauld to fight, he was telling him what to do as well. Arcauld summoned his sword from the trees it had fallen in to, and suddenly noticed the whip that was there. He turned his head, and went to examine it, though not too closely.
28-10-2003, 21:35
"will only take a short while. My apolgies but I must ask these questions." Kain said, noting the disgruntled look on his face.

Throughout Kain had an air of authority and calmness, as though he could kill you within a blink of an eye and have his heart beat no faster than it had at this moment.
28-10-2003, 21:39
"I, I suppose you must. It must seem odd, finding one of us alone, feeding on a hunter in the forest."

Arcauld hated himself even more for this, but followed Kain grudgingly.
28-10-2003, 21:41
Kain walked a little while into the woods before finding a suitable place to sit. Sitting down slowly onto a log, he gestured to a tree stump for him to sit down.

Kain smiled politely, as though nothing was wrong.
28-10-2003, 21:44
The vampire declined Kain's offer, saying that he preffered to stand.

"Now tell me what it is I am here for. I have more important matters to attend to than some stupid-" Arcauld calmed himself. He must stay focused.

"I am sorry for that. Now, may I ask why you have brought me here?"
28-10-2003, 21:49
"All in due time." Kain said and reached for something in his pocket. He produced a long crimson cigar.

"Want a cigar? One of my own products, desgined for vampires needs. Try it." Kain said, giving him the cigar. It had Kain's emblem upon it, the same which was upon his Cloak. He had his lighter ready, to light it.

Lighting his own cigar, he took a tantilising taste of the paper and breathed in. The blod vapour traveled down his throat and condensed, as did the parts on his toungue. The feeling was highly enjoyable.

"Now. My questions, please bear with me. Your name." Kain said, a small whisp of red vapor escaping his lips.
28-10-2003, 21:53
A blood cigar! Such things were unnatural, and reminded him of his father.

"I don't smoke"

He listened to Kain's question, and pondered for a second. He had the air of someone that was easy to talk to. Someone that could suck you in, make you say anything...much like Arcauld's family.

"My name is Arcauld"

He was trying not to talk much - that was how they manipulated you.
Wandering Argonians
28-10-2003, 22:05
Whiptail finished the mending of his cloak, replacing it on his shoulders. "This is much better..." He felt the enchantment begin to warm his scaly body, renewing his strength.
28-10-2003, 22:07
"A fine name...." Kain said as he blew a crimson smoke ring, and then breathed it back in, as it turned to liquid on his tounge.

"My name is Kain Irenicus." Kain said, and looked back into his eyes. The word Irenicus meant "Exiled One, Broken One." It was not a clan name obviously, more of a name for a traitor.

"Age." Kain asked. He would soon get to the more important questions in a seocnd.
28-10-2003, 22:13
"Hahaha." The laugh was cold, emotionless.

"Who am I to know my own age? I have no idea. Many, many hundreds of years. I would guess I've been reborn, near enough fifteen times. That would make me around 1500 years old. And I don't look a day over twenty, do I?"
28-10-2003, 22:16
Kain smiled.

"I am thirty." Kain said, with a slight smile upon his lips his fangs showing as he bit into the the cigar. Which he knew would shock him. Kain was still a fledging! But he radiated such power....or did he? It was not Kain directly...something he wore.

"Now. Tell me of the full story behind this event." Kain asked calmly.
28-10-2003, 22:26
A fledgling? Arcauld felt his blood boil. He was fuming. This vampire had seemed so strong, radiated so much power...

"I'll not sit and be interrogated by some stupid fledgling!"

Arcauld stormed out of the clearing, his cloak flowing behind him. This Kain Irenicus...he would die. Hatred flowed through Arcauld's body. He'd been tricked into thinking this vampire was strong. He was becoming weak.
28-10-2003, 22:41
Kain was unalarmed. He slowed his voice down and grew a tiny bit more sever, his voice followed him as he left. Watching, his calm and wise voice traveled to his ears.

"I might still be a fledgling, but no matter how old you are, there will always be someone who knows infomation you do not. And I would be one of those people. Now, for your own safety, not just from myself but from those within this area listen to what I have to say, and answer my questions, Arcauld." Kain said with perfect calmness, flexing his cloven talon.
28-10-2003, 22:46
Arcauld sent a telepathic message back to Kain.

You're just like him you know. One day, you'll be great. One of the greatest. Just like him. And that's why I hate you, and all of your kind. I can look after myself. I'm sorry. I just hate your kind.

He seemed to be battling the urge to flee. He wouldn't go back, not to him. Not him who reminded him so much... He stopped moving, and sat down on a log in the middle of the forest.
28-10-2003, 23:20
Kain smiled to himself a little in interest and faded. He reappeared slowly, so silently and unoticable it was as though he was always there, a statue.

"I shall cease this line of questioning. Go if you will, others will judge you for quicker than I. But...one more question I ask, not as a freind, nor enemy. I ask it as a watcher of the presant, a observer of this game of like we all participate in. Who do you refer me to? It is rare I would be compared with someone, to know whom you speak of would grant me better reflection of self." Kain said softly, he did not block his escape, he simply stood there, smiling slightly.

It was a strange smile, not one of happyness nor of synical intentions. It was simple fascination and curiousity. Kain leaned against a tree, his purple Cloak wrapped around him.
28-10-2003, 23:29
Arcauld sat, motionless, staring at the snow-covered ground.

"You wouldn't understand. You...you remind me of my father."

Arcauld looked up at Kain, a slightly weak smile on his face.

"You shouldn't take it as a compliment. I hate my father more than you could possibly imagine. It's the same with you, if I'm honest. I respect you, you're wise for a fledgling, but I hate you, because you're like him. But I suppose none of this means anything to you, unless you've realised who my father is..."
28-10-2003, 23:35
"I might know of him. Tell me, what was his name. Why would you hate me so? What characteristics have I shown that makes you despise me so much?" Kain asked.

"If I am not mistaken, you said, you hate "my kind". Would I be incorrect in saying that you yourself are a vampire?" Kain pushed further.
28-10-2003, 23:44
"By 'your kind', I do not mean vampires. There are different kinds of vampires. You act differently, you talk differently, you have a different air about you. Of course, you're not really like my father. You just have the same air about you... you're more like two siblings. Opposite, and yet so alike." Arcauld smiled weakly.

"But I am not entirely vampiric. My mother was a mortal, a human. My father was who gave me my vampiric powers. I don't even know why I'm telling you this. I've never told anybody this before..."

Yet still Arcauld was faintly surprised that Kain hadn't worked out the identity of his father. If he didn't know now, he knew that he would soon. If he'd just thought for a moment, it would slot into place.

"Who is this man? I do not know who he is..." Kain said, stoking his chin.
28-10-2003, 23:56
"Really? Then perhaps I gave you more credit than you deserve." Arcauld stood up, and turned to face Kain. He closed his eyes...

The word 'Arcauld' swam into view in front of Kain's eyes. Slowly, the letters began rearranging themselves, to form a new word...

A silent shadow watched all this from beneath the snow. Many questions have been answered, many more have been left to ask. But the shadow was getting hungry and its impatience was starting to effect it's judgment. But much, much more to hear and see possebly knowlege to gain.

<ooc: does anyone mind if i join in rather late?>
29-10-2003, 14:24
Kain smiled. He hummed in acknowledgement. He moved his cloven hand from side to side, trying to think how to react.

"Funny that I would remind you so of him....Interesting. Very interesting indeed....What brings you here on the snowy plains? That man you just drained is the reason?" Kain asked, he remained calm and retained that hard autority about him, yet he was not arrogant. He knew that he was powerful.
29-10-2003, 20:11
"No, not at all. The man...he was a Belmont. The legendary vampire hunters, the Belmonts, have hunted my father all of his life. When they learned that he had a secret son... How he found me so quickly after my resurrection is a mystery to me though. This must seem confusing to you...I'll begin from the start..."

(OOC: Arcauld was accidently resurrected early by a lost traveller, and had been living off of animals until he found the town, where he fought Samuel, basically. Assume I've told you his story, I don't want to type it all out.)
29-10-2003, 20:20
So that is what happened, thought the shadow. He must have woken up to early. That’s why I was at last able to find him. After 300 years my quest will finally be complete, if only the wizard was not there... then I would have a chance, but while we wait Arcauld keeps gaining power, soon I wont be able to stop him. But I can’t act to early, I cant die… not yet…
29-10-2003, 20:28
Arcauld looked into Kain's deep eyes, and did not make a sound.

Kain, there is somebody watching us. I hear his thoughts clatter around his head like elephants. I don't think he knows I've realised, what should we do?

The woman was still outside town. She was walking slowly around the edge, waiting.

OOC: I prersonally haven't seen that much use for my character here...
30-10-2003, 12:34
You are asking me? I am suprised. Remain calm and act as though nothing happened. Remain ready.

Kain thought of something. He drew the Brightblade, it chilling ring filling the air, making those near feel slightly colder, even though vampires did not feel the chill. Perhaps it was mental...?

The Brightblade was curved and eminated great evil, Arcauld knew what this thing was, what the nature of the weapon was.

"You know what this is?" Kain asked, his mind still speaking to Arcauld.

(OOC He would know that it was a demonic blade certainly, the demon inside is extremely old and powerful. An extremely powerful group of mages must have created this, it is extremely difficult just to trap a lesser demon.)
30-10-2003, 13:17
Oh oh, they stoped talking, and why are they looking at each other in that strange way? I dont like this, not a bit. Perhaps i should run, or should i fight? ... Hmm.... I cant run yet they are practicly standing ontop of me, i guess I must wait untill they look the other way, or are distracted.
30-10-2003, 21:15
Arcauld closed his eyes, allowed his mind to stretch forth and enter the blade...

"A demon blade. A powerful demon blade... how do you come to possess such a weapon!? You a mere fledgling - much too weak to overcome such a powerful demon."

Arcauld began to suspect what Kain was thinking, and slowly unsheathed Mormegil. "This is Mormegil. The blade is forged from pure darkness, and the essence of an ancient shadow warrior is trapped inside."

Inside, Arcauld began to feel slightly disorientated. Something inside him was restless, and it was not him. Could it be...the Belmont?
01-11-2003, 11:53
"Aye I trapped this demon." Kain lied perfectly to make the watcher think they where both immensly powerful.

"I went into those hells and I killed many, taking a prize and hostage. To think, some mortals try to attack me?" Kain laughed, his acting skills where brilliant.

"That sword you hold there, that indeed is powerful. I wonder what it would do against someones fragile soul?" Kain looked around smiling, as though he knew where the person was.

Nikolas had just got up from feeding when he heard the explosion. Did you hear that? he asked of the others. Yes they all replied. Let's check it out Nikolas sent the though out to the others.

Sarah ran toward the sound and sent her power out ahead of her. She sensed Kain, one of the hunters, another vampire with Kain and something else that appeared to be at the center of the explosion. It started moving and she ran to intercept it. I found something, it may be the source of the explosion with the message she gives them the thing's location so they can converge on it.
02-11-2003, 00:59
Running through the hail of snow, away from the two vampires the shadow began chanting in a foreign language…
Menoth
02-11-2003, 02:10
"Stop," Sarah said in a commanding voice."Who are you and why are you running?" Accompanying the words was a rope of power that spiraled around the shadow holding him in place, it also made it hard for him to cast spells. How close are you guys? Sarah asked the others telepathically.
I should be there pretty soon. I'm not sure if the others are done feeding though. Nikolas said.
[i]I'm done, I'll be there in a minute or so.[i] Kristopher interjected.
02-11-2003, 02:33
Darn it my disguise is slipping, it thought. The enchantment holding the shadows to me is disintegrating, I must alter shape.
With the final words of the chant finished the man (no longer shadow) used the powers of his other enchantments to turn himself into a bat…
(Sadly forgetting that bats cannot see in the daytime.)
With his transformation into the bat he slipped passed the rope flying wildly out of control, hitting random branches, trees and anything else in the way. Trying madly to get away…
Menoth
02-11-2003, 14:12
It's the bat, Sarah sent the thought to Kristopher who was but a moment away. Sarah flailed the rope around trying to grasp the bat while she started another incantation.

As the incantation finished Kristopher lept from the trees atempting to snatch the bat out of the air. As he sailed toward the bat it suddenly slowed down, as if by magic, alowing him to catch it.
02-11-2003, 16:31
As the snow flew in all directions, Arcauld's head snapped around. His body flew into the air to correct itsself, but instead of landing on his face, four paws, each with four silver claws, hit the ground. He didn't even seem to need to gather speed - Arcauld was flying towards the thing like a bullet. His wolf form didn't even seem solid now - it gave off a pale light, and was almost ethreal. He saw the thing change, into a bat, and he leapt up at it, his black teeth snapping furiously.

His attempt at biting the bat failed, but he changed again, in mid air, so that he too was in his bat form. But he was no ordinary bat - he was a vampire bat, larger, and stronger than most. He was much slower though, but the fact that he could see gave him an advantage. He saw the bat slow down, and began to charge with all his strength...
02-11-2003, 17:07
Blinded and confused, held by some invisible force, he finally admitted defeat, folding his bat wings he one’s again began chanting to transform into a human form…
02-11-2003, 17:21
As the bat's wings folded, Arcauld swerved upwards, and he landed on his feet in his vampire form. In a flash, Mormegil was unsheathed and in his hand, pointing at the bat.

"Who the hell are you?"
02-11-2003, 17:41
"Crikee! It seems we have a bat and man here. What is this called? A vampire. Okay. can we get a close-up of what is happening here. Good, now i'm going to wrassle this sucker and... crikee, i've been bitten. I am feeling faint" *he falls to the ground, then turns to a bat, and flies a way.

And the crowd goes wild. YAY

As the daggers flew towards Arcauld, time itsself seemed to slow, and an observant person may have seen a slight smile on his face before his transformation. With the daggers inches from his chest, Arcauld changed into his mist form, the daggers passing through harmlessly. He reformed, standing there, swords in hands.

"Haha, you actually think you stand a chance, mortal?"

A strange yellow light came down upon Arcauld, and he...vanished?

Arcauld watched invisibly...the coward was running whilst he gathered his power! His anger only caused him to become more powerful.

A huge yellow beam shot down from the sky in front of the fleeing assassin, and five swirling fireballs spewed forth from it. As the beam dispersed, Arcauld was standing there, his cloak wide open, glowing yellow.

"Hellfire!"

Seeing Arcauld appear out of a giant column of yellow light in front if him, there was nothing to do but dive into the snow and pray that my left over enchantment would protect me from the blast.

As the Hellfire streaked toward me my only thought was… “I’m wont make it out alive”. The Hellfire burning through defensive enchantments, armor, hit a vile of holly water, Dispersing the flame while causing immense pain on the holder of the vile.

"I am not sure, however the holy water may have reacted with the hellfire." Sarah replied.
"How do you know it's holy water?" Kristopher asked.
"What else would it be?" Sarah said.
The threat has been dealt with. Sarah sent the message to the others who hadn't arrived at the clearing yet.

06-11-2003, 20:45
The unnamed assassin giving up the fight for life, finally stopped twitching in the puddle of holly water, and was lying prone stared back at Arcauld with black lifeless eyes. Only hissing sounds could be heard in the air above the assassin. And a horribly mangled body lay in the small crater…

Could this be the end? Echoed through the mind of the assassin in his last moment of conciseness.

we need you over here, we have another potential problem, but stay just out of sensing range. Kristopher sent the message to the others, however he protected the thought well, Arcauld shouldn't be able to sense it, or if he can definetly not able to read it.
07-11-2003, 17:13
Arcauld's free hand summoned up his vorpal blade, and he pointed it towards Kristopher and Sarah, although with less ferocity than the sword pointed at the assassin. "All you need know, is that my name is Arcauld. What is your purpose here, little ones?"

All the time he could hear thoughts in Kristopher's head - not like the assassin's though. These were secretive thoughts, mice like, tiptoing so as not to be noticed. He felt them, trying to escape from him. They were plotting something.

Whiptail advances slowly, his long tail trailing behind him, yet not touching the snow.

"What is this? More companions?"

With each drawn breath he hisses slightly, and his golden eyes burn fiercely. He smells Arcauld, the scent of vampire hung heavily in the area. Whiptail waits, motionless. Kain obviously had seen something of value in this vampire, something Whiptail would have missed, so blinded by hatred was he. He would wait, and perhaps see this thing of value for himself.
12-11-2003, 23:07
There is no need to be cautious Kristopher, if you can embrace the darkness. Kain has mislead you. There is nothing to gain from aiding the humans. They will still hunt you, still fear you, still shun you. Join me.

Arcauld was beginning to feel nautious now, and his head was swimming. He turned as Whiptail spoke, and lost his balance. He began to heave violently on the floor. His stomach felt like it was going to come up through his mouth...

'Embrace the darkness' Ha! At least I still have some humanity left, it's not much, but it's something. Wouldn't you aggree that would make me strong? I would have to have the willpower to fight the hunger, apparently that is something you lack. Kristopher replied, liking Arcauld even less than he already did. "Will you answer your own question or not?" He said aloud.
13-11-2003, 21:20
Arcauld felt pain that he had never felt before. He felt his body, his life, being ripped away from him. He couldn't scream with agony...he was powerless. "Kain, do you have any idea what is going on?" Sarah asked.
17-11-2003, 22:56
Arcauld carried on relentlessly, though he was clearly slowed down by the mental assault. His head was a mess - if there was another that could hear thoughts such as Arcauld could, they probably deafened. Memories flashed through his mind, his memories, other people's memories...

A flash...

A small girl with pigtails, playing on a swing, children's laughter...

A flash...

A tall pale man, with a white goatee and long white hair, beating a woman on the floor...

A flash...

Himself...standing in a clearing, Mormegil at the ready. He watched himself dive out of the way of something...a bottle of holy water.

He screamed out mentally, an evil, torturing scream. His physical form kept walking, zombie-like, blindly...

Arcauld carried on walking relentlessly, dazed, powerlessly. He apparoached a clearing, a scorched tree on his right hand side. A few splatters of blood littered the perfect snow, but it was obvious that there was more beneath it. His pace lessened - he was barely even walking now, but his mind was in tatters. Whiptail assembled a small party of vampire hunters, to hunt evil vampires, but somewhere along the way we met up with a bunch of good ones who were supposed to be evil, but aren't, and then this assassin thing appears, and gets killed, then a vampire goes crazy, and I'm totally lost on my own thread!

I vote I start this thing over again from square one, or from some other starting place, making it invite only. Who's with me?

OOC: Sure starting over would not be bad. There is only 1 post here per week. And if you dont mind i would love to join and this time be evil. As i had no chance to do here.
