Vampire Conference (Invite, RP)
Outside the Bolivar Auditurium, limozines begin to arrive as people from aroud the world enter Iuthia's first Vampire Conference, a discussion on vampires; what they are and what they do.
The building is tall and modern, made of concrete mainly with fortified edges and a statue of the current leader, James deGritz at the front, in the middle of a large fountain.
The reception inside the building is impressively large with uniformed men and women behind the counters. On the way in, you are led to the hall where the Conference is going to take place and allowed a half an hour to organise your notes and get freshened up.
Around you, is more desks with expensive leather seats. Ultimatly they make almost a full circle, three rows deep with seats and desks. At the top a large desk is situated for the Chairperson to sit and mediate the discussion. Behind that desk is a small door with a unknown peice of insignia.
To your east and west is are large doors, designed so that three people can come in at once. It is ten foot high and has room on either side for a gaurd to stand, fully equipped with Iuthian Gauss Rifles and black uniforms.
The walls are decorated with a old red oak effect, while the floor looks marble, with the Iuthian Flag painted on the dais in the middle. A coulpe flags are hanging in the room, both of them Iuthian.
Each person has a small desk to acommodate their notes, laptops, breifcases and other assorted bits. Eleven of the numberous seats have name plates on the desk, each with the nation they represent and their name.
People may notice that the extra name plate is a Iuthian Representative, by the name of James deGritz...
Once everyone arrives, everyone is introduced* and the mediator, Major Jan Kerostan, begins with a opening statement:
"Welcome everyone who has made it to this conference today, I'm glad you could make it.
"As you all know, we are here today to talk about the very existance of vampires and how they may affect our nations, but also we are here to learn more about them, where they came from and how they live.
"During this conference, I expect everyone to treat each other with respect, do your fighting another time, for we are here for enlightenment.
"Now, first on the agenda is 'The Beginning – How did vampires come to be?'
"Please, feel free to make an opening statement and clerify your position in your nation or company. And quote the statement you are refering to when asking questions.
"Now, how did Vampires come to exist? This is something which from our own records we are unsure about, some people beleive it is through gods punishment to Cain, son of Adam and Eve. Others beleive vampires are a mutation, a disease even. Some even feel that they're bloodline began from a race of ghosts... please, express your views"
Agenda and Attendance List (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=72481&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0)
OOC: People involved - please will you quote a the previous statement when asking about it or replying to it so we don't get confused.
People not involved - please will you not flame this thread, if you don't like vampire and your not here, do it in the other thread.
If you wish to join, you may RP your acceptance to the invitation and jouney in this thread, or ask in the other thread.
Any secret actions should be TMed to me, otherwise it's a free roleplay and things can happen in the hall. If it's not in this hall, do it in the other thread.
OOC: Feel free to RP your enterance. I just need to start it like that cause I may be going out in a bit.
The Sakkran Female (notable for a dewlap, as opposed to a crest) rises from her chair, standing at a height of 6'10".
"Greetings. I am Lieutenant Pashaa, aide to General Gaarm. We have been looking through hu-man lore, text books and the like. Thus far, it seems vampires, wampyr and any other regional pronunciations are inclined to iron-rich blood. There are other blood types, however, that we have no data on in terms of how vampires favor them. Sakkran blood, for instance, is copper based and has independent nuclei in the blood cells. We are hoping for some enlightenment on this."
She sits back in her seat, and awaits introductions from other conference members.
Kain stood, humble and depressed. He still stood tall however not proud of himself but he needed to say what he had to say. He began with a low a deep voice, with confidance but with hints of saddness.
"I am....Kain Irenicus." He began...the new name he had given himself sounded strange. The word Irenicus meant Exiled One, some people knew it's meaning.
"I am a vampire, and have been for a short time. I am still a fledgling, which means newly-born. I am a hybrid....although those who gave me this blessing and....curse I can no longer call family. I know some things of vampires, and have my own views upon the moral issues, having faced them myself."
"I am a vampire, and have been for a short time.
On the est side of the hall, 2nd row, the man siting behind his desk stood up. On his name plate was the name "James deGritz" the name of the man who ruled Iuthia.
"Welcome all to our conference, I am Lord General deGritz, leader of the Iuthian people. Today I come to talk about my own expiences with the vampiric race from the time I spoke with a few in Rave Shentavo.
"However, I will get to that when we are ready, firstly may I ask you, Kain Irenicus, how you came to being a vampire and what was it like?"
James returned to his seat and awaited a reply.
OOC: Don't worry about getting in the way of this question, others can continue to introduce themselves and start on the first item on the agenda, how they came to being.
OOC: Kain Irenicus, are you a new enterant in this conference (e.g. not on the attending list) if so, don't worry. But I'll need to know how your fledgling vampire will feed during the time you are here.
Mikael Kreoss came through the doors, his robes swirling about him, and walked down the aisle toward his seat. he arrived and made his opening statement "I, most unfortunetly(sp), have almost no information or expeirence with vampires. However the Holy Empire of Menoth and I believe in the fundemental equality of all sentient beings unless they take action to prove they are unworthy of this equality, because of this we currently veiw vampires with respect and think they are as worthy of life as any human, elf, or other being!" His voice was not harsh but still carried an authoritve tone. With that he took his seat.
Sorry somehow I managed to triple post without my browser saying I posted once! :x
Dr. Hans comes through the door reeking of monkeys and looks around a bit. Some of the people already there look at him as he takes his seat and. Dr. Hans has just come here to listen, but may say something if he so desires.

*Malice Tarashibo enters the conferance room. Briefly he stops in the doorway. His eye scanning the room slowly with an almost uninterested look. He carries with him a laptop in a case, and his coat and hat in his arms. After a moment a small, barely noticable smile creeps over his thin lips, and he heads to his desk. Once he reaches it, he sets his things down. Clearing his throat he addresses the others*
I am Malice Tarashibo, Clan Brujah, elder Kindred of Eris Kallisti, and Head of Undead Relations.
*His voice is even and calm, with an air of authority*
My people are decendants of the first human cursed by God for the sin of murder. Cain son of Adam and Eve. Cain spread his curse to others, his "Childer", and each of them in turn made more... this has been going on and on over the ages. I, myself, am an elder, and 7 steps from Cain himself.
*He clears his throat again, and slowly sits down*
We have heard there are other types of "Vampires" in the world, and were curious as to how they function.
*He pulls his laptop out of its case and adjusts his comlink in his ear with great care*
"My people are decendants of the first human cursed by God for the sin of murder. Cain son of Adam and Eve. Cain spread his curse to others, his "Childer", and each of them in turn made more... this has been going on and on over the ages. I, myself, am an elder, and 7 steps from Cain himself."
"Malice Tarashibo" Starts James, standing up to speak, "Ah, Cain... yes... the Christians beleive he killed his own brother. The why would god curse Cain, yet allow him to spread his curse to others... then again, I've always suspected that should a god exist they wouldn't think like we do.
"So, what is the difference between the generations of a vampire, do you feel closer to god then your own childer, if you have childer of course.
"And finally, how did you, personally, become a vampire? and were you given a choice?"

OOC: Kain Irenicus, are you a new enterant in this conference (e.g. not on the attending list) if so, don't worry. But I'll need to know how your fledgling vampire will feed during the time you are here.
(OOC No he is the same person. he was Kain Shentavo, but he was exiled. he would prefer not to talk why he was exiled. It is the same person, I just had to change his name due to it. He can sustain himself.)
However, I will get to that when we are ready, firstly may I ask you, Kain Irenicus, how you came to being a vampire and what was it like?"
Kain waitied a short while beofre he gave his responce, recollecting his memories, and thinking what he should tell and what he should not. he did not want to reveal where he had come from.
"I became a vampire out of choice, I would have changed in a horrific way if I had not become a vampire. It was either to die or to beocme a vampire. I chose this existance. I was..sired by Ravelyn Shentavo. I through my own crimes have been exiled from the Shentavo's and cursed. It was my own fault that this occoured, I bear them no malice for what they have done." Kain spoke, recollecting the events of little more than a week ago when he was banished.
"To what it is to be like a vampire.....firstly. I am different from other vampires. The conditions which I was changed there where outside forces still working upon me. Hence my appearance." Kain said.
"It felt wonderful for a time. Think of it. You would no longer have to worry about the passage of time, nor worring about any mortal wound, they would heal almost instantanously. Your strength increases, your endurance is almost limitless and your mind works with extreme clarity and speed." Kain sighed.
"But as there are blessings there are curses. To see all your freinds die slowly and there is not a thing you can so about it. Searching for a reason to go on sometimes, eternity is a vast amount of time to exist....you can become bored with the world. There is the commonly known curse, which now fortunatly there are alternatives to....to kill to survive. I have never done so nor could I now ever kill a human. The thirst for blood is a animalistic experiance....it gnaws the mind and makes you angry, rash and cruel. But as you grow older you need to feed less."
"But now we can drink from blood doners etc...it is better now. And lastly....prejudice. We have to endure this more than most races. Even now I am watched by Inquisitors....I am a subject for thier observations. To be constantly judged as an animal which might strike out at any minute. It can be hard sometimes....and often it results in violance against us."
"I bear these curses thrice fold for my crimes. I say again, I am not the typical vampire, my experiances are different form many, and I would not wish them upon anyone else. But vampirism is a blessing and a curse. For some, the curses are worse." Kain finished, his voice through the speech was sorrowful, and remorseful.

((Catch up time for me))
The farseer entered the conferance hall in Robes of Black, the only show of colour his single Spirit Stone that hung around his neck, he left at the hotel his Bodygaurd, the Dragon Droid would likely have been considered, he thought, a weapon.
His opening statement was short and simple 'I am Farseer Galdern, we at Tor Yvresse have a unique view on vampires I suppose undeath is not you see unnatural to us. The horror and revulsion vampires are often met at, we feel may stem from the simple fact that to humans the dead are dead, this is not so to us.
Now we understand that Vampires also present a risk, the fallen, debased Vampire has much potential to cause harm, but we would hold that in the modern world you now live in, this problem is increasingly growing smaller. Instead they present to the world a unique oppertunity, the things they have seen, they present another source of factual primary sources on worlds events.
So what does this leave us with as an opening position from Tor Yvresse, we hold that a Vampire that is willing to live in the world as a part of it, or simply obey the rules of society, not to kill snetients unless in self defence, is a person that should be allowed to do so, with equal rights to others. Those that fall into more barbaric ways will have to be dealt with. Unfortunatly we know of no other way except death, so we come to this conferance hoping in part to be shown a third way.'
"You must understand that a vampire is not dead, nor are we alive. We are on the borderline, etranlly caught between the two existances. Vampires as you say are indivduals who can vary on thier attidues and actions. Some of which are violant and strike out. I suggest that you find the cause of why each vmapire in question has lashed out, wheter it be prejudice against the person, bloodlust, or other reasons. For each case there is a different answer, no vampire is the same due to thier prelonged life and wealth of experiances, good and bad." Kain spoke to the Farseer.

I cannot speak for God General deGritz. I can only speakof what I know. I know very little of God. What I can say is that because I am closer to Cain then my Childer, I am more powerful then they are. If God truely exists, my personal belife is that he has no dealings with the realm of mortals anymore. But of course, that is my personal belife. Some of my people belive otherwise. Some also belive that we are allowed to exist because the human race, and other races as well, need a natural preditor to slow the over population problem.
*He shrugs slowly*
I was not given a choice when I was embraced. My childer was given the choice though, actualy she came to me asking for it. I do not belive in forcing such things on people. Kindred in Eris Kallisti are bloodhunted for forcing the embrace on others. In bringing an unwilling Childer into existance, their life is forfit in the eyes of the kindred council. If the newly embraced wishes to end their unlife they are wellcome to and sometimes we will even help them, if not though, we help train and educate them in our ways. We have followed this rule since we settled in Eris Kallisti.

"I agree to this idea that a person should not be forced into this new existance...that indeed is a great crime. What limitations do you place upon those who wish to sir another? How old should you be to sir another, as your fledgling is your responcibility to teach and guide, yes?"

Sandman watched the Iuthian coast rush forward at about mach 8 as the TransCorp buisness jet slowed towards landing. The flight had been quick, but only the flight.
"Damnit, why did those medicos have to hold me back?" he asked himself aloud.
Dana answered anyway, "Because the past week has been traumatic for your heart. They just want to be sure you'll be OK."
"I'll be OK if I don't miss this conference entirely!" Sandman snapped...then softened, "I'm sorry. It is just that this is important to me. A world event in my specialty, somewhat rare you know?"
Dana nodded. "As long as we get back to Wazzu before Liz."
"Don't worry about it," Sandman replied, "I left a message with El Bumpo, she'll be able to find us no problem."
The jet was already streaking in to land at the airport....

James was slightly taken aback, though he didn't change his inquisitive look he did seem to be more interested.
"May I ask, what crime did you commit to become cursed more then the others? What could warrent such a curse?" James sat back down and stared with his full attention toward Kain.
OOC: Is Ravelyn Shentavo the same as Rave Shentavo, or is the name popular? I only ask so not to get confused. I may go back to one of my old threads to look at James own expience.
Plus, this RP can take as long as we like, we can always come back to it. But I do agree that it should keep moving. I'll try to keep up.

Ravelyn enters the room with a smile on her face. "I beleive you all need some answers...and I beleive I can answer a lot of your questions...if not all of them. I am a hyrbid...an angelic vampire for those of you who haven't heard of me already. I am mother to the oldest family of vampires in existance..." Her skin was pale, and her fangs rested on her lower lip. Her crimson eyes engulfed them all. She wore a black satin dreww that complimented her figure immensly..she obviously wasn't planning on fighting...nor had fear that she would be attacked...she wasn't average..

James stood up, looking pleased at Ravelyn's enterance, like seeing a old freind.
"Ah, I'm glad you could make it Rave, it's been a while and I suppose it's about time you came to my country... but yes, you are right of course we do need a few answers about vampires. Thats why I am holding this confernce. Hell, I invited the hunters as well, for complete understanding you have to understand, not because we have any problems.
"We are currently getting as many different views on the vampire existance as possible, I'm sure you would also be interested in other vampires views and experiences, as well as the scientific and relgious view...
"I would gladly here about how you came into existance, that being the first item on the agenda. Anyways... I'll let the conference continue."
OOC: Glad you could make it... being the first Vampire nation I RPed with. Oh... and there is a slight danger being here I have to add. Not from me, but other nations who might secretly do something (or not secretly like the protesters)
May I ask again how all vampires here are feeding, with exception to those who explained in the other invitation thread. It's OOC information and you can TM me if you don't want others to know... or you want to TM me.
Kain, you arn't allowed to bring your sword into the conference, the hunters wouldn't be allowed so neither are you (and you have supernatural strenght, which worried us enough as it is... but we couldn't tell you to leave that outside). You could always RP arguing about it to the point where I let you bring it in, but otherwise how are you feeding, if at all?
Rave Shentavo
21-09-2003, 23:08
"Ah myself..." She said with a smile. "There are different needs for vampires of different age. First you have a blood doll...not a full fledged vampire, but a person who gives their blood willingly in hopes that that vampire will give them the gift of the embrace. They do not feed. Then you have fledglings, often referred to as "childr" as they are newly formed vampires. They must feed often and normally from their sire. My fledglings only feed off of me, as I won't allow them to take a human life. Then there are neonates...just an older version of fleglings if you want to be simple. Then we get to elders, whom have left the aid of their sire. Mine feed off of other immortals, if you will, or they aquire their own blood dolls. Again they give consent to the host. Then their are ancients...who need not feed for long periods of time..myself being one of them. Most ancients of high ranks in the order possess a stone called a blood stone...it writhes with life...I feed off of that...they feed off of me. Shentavos do not feed from humans rather than blood dolls, though most of my kin have none. The older you get, the less often you need to feed." She draws nearer. Now they could see she wasn't normal as wings were closed on her back. She had been an angel.
Major Jan Kerostan was slightly surpised at Ravelyn's apperance, he wasn't a religios man, Iuthia was made up of mainly agnostics with open minds about these things, however James deGritz was not in the least bit surpised at her apperance, he had seen it all before.
Jan waited for the conversations to end and asked:
"Well, we certainly learned alot about individual vampires here today, however I can't help but wander about the overall creation of vampires. This is often subject to opinion because I don't think that any of the being here today have been around long enough to know this. But we humans have an idea of how we were created, all of them diverse and to the point that people war over the different ideas.
"However, most of use don't know where vampires came from, almost as much of us don't know they even exist. So what are our opinions as to the creation of vampirs as a whole?"
Rave Shentavo
22-09-2003, 00:00
"My sire...was one of the first created." She began. "It has been a mystery to many...but my sire has formulated and has evidence to support his hypothesis of the beginning. In the beginning, before humans...maybe even before..angels were created, there were beings...let's just say enhanced humans for now. They could drain the energy of another just as they caught sight of them...without physical contact. Everyone now can do it in a different sense...others feelings affect the others around them...even if slightly. So, anyway. Later, they found that by draining blood from the individual as well would greaten the energy they obtained from the life force. When the first drop of blood touched the first's lips...a change occured something not planned...Their minds altered...everything...their cells different...so spawned what we now know as the vampiric race. Now...Humans.. Humans were created with a sense of complexity. Their minds are complex...and everything has an order. Someone had to create this order...and this denotes inteligence...so someone must have created humans...as well as vampires....I'm not asking you to beleive in a God...just accept the possibility of it. And if this is so, then someone would have to have created or altered some being to become a vampire...again, not insisting that you beleive in God or anything...just saying...our existance can't be explained...and neither can yours..." She said raising and eyebrow. She looked at the others...with different reactions of her appearance. she was the only angelic vampire in existance...and one of the only two Seraphim left alive...but her rank as seraphim was unknown...and for good reason. She glanced at Jan for a moment, then smiled at James when she caught his eye.
"In the beginning, before humans...maybe even before..angels were created, there were beings...let's just say enhanced humans for now."
"Now...Humans.. Humans were created with a sense of complexity. Their minds are complex...and everything has an order. Someone had to create this order...and this denotes inteligence...so someone must have created humans...as well as vampires...
James, slightly blushing, went on to ask:
"Hm... interesting, the idea of humans coming from "super" humans sits a little odd in my mind, I've always been into the idea of evolution, where a being advances through natural selection, however this seems to suggest overwise. Then again, where higher beings are invovled who knows what may come of a creature. We humans have purposefully bred other creatures for our own uses, in the case of dogs we have been known to make things worse in favor of a more attractive god.
"Another point of interest is that your sire believes that humans and vampires both came from the same creature... which I must admit, makes sense when you look at some of the facts, but still such a idea is controvercial to those who fear god and beleive humanity was made in gods image. Which bring me to my next point.
"I'm not asking you to beleive in a God...just accept the possibility of it. And if this is so, then someone would have to have created or altered some being to become a vampire...again, not insisting that you beleive in God or anything...just saying...our existance can't be explained...and neither can yours..."
"Most of the people here in Iuthia, including myself, do not beleive in "God", not in a religion sense anyways. We are generally very open minded on the subject because we would rather learn about our spiritual side for ourselves without reading about it in a book writen by some guy in a desert. Overall, we all have differing ideas, but we change them to suit facts... or at least what we concieve as facts.
"Your sire makes a interesting point, though I'm not sure I would change my view on the world becuase of it, it's a theory, like everything else. None the less, it provides a insight into the vampire mental."
Finally, James sat down and had a drink. Occasionally flicking his eyes across the room, trying to think about Tiara and then stopped after realising his current company.

IC:"Something on your mind?" Rave said with a smile, at which James promtely spurted out a small amount of water from the drink he was having. Quickly cleaning himself up with his hankerchief* and swiftly regained his posture, almost salvaging what bit of dignity he had left.
"No, not really" He said with the same calm voice he always used, his mind was back to vague military drills and all sign of emotion was removed to such an extent that empathic people would think of him as a robot. "I simply like to be thourgh, it's part of being a general."
"No, I suppose you are right, we're not here to talk about god, I merely side-tracked because of the link. Any other ideas anyone?"
Slight relaxation from James can be noticed, though only to the trained eye/mind. He turned back to his notes, with the occasional flicker of a womans face in his mind, to vague to make out. **

** While it isn't Rave... it could be interpreted otherwise. The only reason it's flickering like so is becuase he is trying to not think of anything, while trying to keep his girl friend in mind as not to forget his obligations.

'What I would like to know is first where do they come from, and how are they sustained, and secondly are they an everlasting source or does it need to be refreshed in some way, oh and I suppose I'd like to see one, just out of curiosity's sake.' A Small Chuckle left his lips as he spoke.

"A bloodstone is received from myself...it thrives on my sire's blood...and a combination of my magic and some from my apprentices...therefore sustaining a certain amount of blood for an eternity...I am different...as you can probably tell by now..."*she said with a smile. She reached behind her back and a gleaming crimson stone appeared in her hand. The edges were rough, and it looked like a scarlet quartz. Ripples and swirls thrived within it. She only showed it for a moment, then concealed it again* "Pardon the shortness of the show...but it is very valuable..and people have often tried to take it from me...and I do not like losing my temper" *she laughed and smiled again* "It is everlasting...as am I"
"What about you Jan?"
Jan simply smiled, being a simpler man then James*. His mind was currently in a serious mood, changing to amusement when James spurted his drink. Otherwise his mind (not giving information as such, but surface idea) was on the conference and the things being said.
"Well, personally I have had little experience with god or vampires. I only know of the films that we show here. Which from what I am hearing are very incorrect to the point that they may be propergander.
"However, from what I can tell so far, vampires are like us, in that they can turn out as valuable members of a society, or become a danger. Then again, vampires are humans with something extra, or missing... not sure which to be honest. Eitherway, they seem directly linked with humans and I know humans can be good or bad as much as anything else"
"Hm... though I must admit, now that Farseer Galdern mentions it, I would like to see one of these "blood stones".
OOC: I don't think we have any hunters yet, or at least non you are aware of**. Wazzu could be the only nation here that is basically against vampires, given his vaccine, but I doubt they count.
* Remember, being simple isn't the same as being stupid... though I must admit, most of Iuthia's people are simple, lifes easier that way.
** Yes, there is someone doing something in Iuthia right now, but it's all heavily RPed somewhere else by someone whose nation is good at this kind of thing. But won't come into effect unless something happens.

Nodding at her words he smiled 'I can certainly understand why you would wish to protect such a Stone, and fully understand, indeed we both carry the priceless here. I thank you for explaining this matter to me...
Hmm I wonder it is not only the Vampires we are here to listen to, but the Hunters, so I would suggest that an explanation of Vampiric Origin from their point of view is also needed. After all these are the people that have dedicated their existences to fighting them. I would wish to know if they know what they fight.'
'Before that through let me lay forth some of Tor Yvresse's initial findings from our studies into the matter.
First let me say I believe we have essentially several types of Vampires, From the descendents of Raves Super Race, to the story of Caine, to Kain's story over there. As the differing vampires have differing capabilties in many ways it might well be that we actually have difffering species, that share a common heritage. Or we might find that a Vampires powers are somewhat linked to what they expect to be able to display.'

Rave smiles, and after much thought, she reveals the blood stone again, and tosses it to James, the only one she fully trusted in the confrence. "Don't break it...it's really valuable...study it...spend nights thinking about it...but you will not be able to grasp the importance it has for vampires...I have created others, and have others in my possession...though they are rare..I trust you will it.."
She then looks at Galdern and smiles once again. "Vampires were all human once...with the exception of myself of course."
Despite the distractions in the room, James military training kicks in and he securly captures the Blood Stone in his left hand. [Different image flickers in his mind, again to vague to make out, followed by original image]. James then holds the stone in between his fore finger and thumb, holding it so all can see it.
"For something which is so important to your race, it looks quite simple... I guess that sayes alot about life, heh... it's the small things in life eh?" James smiles to himself [comforted and calm feelings] he tests the weight of the stone, a little heavy like a stone should be, after playing with it for a bit he is content and he walks towards the Farseer to give him a better view, though politely making a point not to give him the stone.
"So... er... what does it do then, sustain a vampire who has it?" Looking at both the Farseer and Rave, though never taking his eye completely off the stone, which he didn't want to loose.
He then went over the Rave [the shortest glimer of embarresment, though only someone with the observation skills of a old vampire can read this from his mind] and gave the stone back to her, carefully so not to fumble it.
OOC: When I [do this] I am giving mental information for Raves sake, who can read minds, James is well trained as well as naterally able to resist telepathy, however small bits of information slip past at times. If others can read minds, they can re-act to this. James only knows that Rave can read his mind, but suspects that other vampires can.

Dana's mind was full of junk, of nothings-in-particular, though she seemed alert. Sandman's (having finished reading the transcripts) was all to easy to read, stuff about "hogwash" and "religious dogma" and such...as mental answers to statements given. Those nearby might have heard him snort once or twice, he really was getting tired of it all.

Rave looks at it, then to James. "It sustains any vampire who feeds off of it, though only ancients, and elders maybe, would ever be able to figure out how to use it." *she says with a smile* "One of my more clever constructions..." She looks at the rest in the room. "I know there are many questions on your mind...so...let me hear them." she said with a smile...she already knew the questions most were to ask.

((Note on Galdern. Galdern is a Farseer and Eldar, his mind is Closed off, and nothing gets past his defenses unless he wills it, mostly this is a Subconcious thing, when a Dark God Constantly seeks to possess you from Birth, you tend to build up pretty strong mental defences, he was taught them from Birth, and since becoming a Farseer they have only grown stronger.))
Galdern looked across towards Sandman and gave a small smile of recognition, Sandman was well known to the council, and Galdern. His rejection of some of the more Religious explanations where a welcome new angle in such matters even if Galdern personally rejected them.
'Sir, I wonder if perhaps, knowing your views on such matters from discusions on the origin of Elves if perhaps you might have a hypotheisis to examine the origin of Vampires, from a more scintific position? I personally would be very interested in such a theory.'

"I agree to this idea that a person should not be forced into this new existance...that indeed is a great crime. What limitations do you place upon those who wish to sir another? How old should you be to sir another, as your fledgling is your responcibility to teach and guide, yes?"((OOC: sorry I'm catching up right now. Had a bunch of stuff come up))
*Malice nods slowly. It seems that he's not going to be asking many questions himself*
Yes, when one sire's another, they are responsible for them for the first year in order to teach them what they need to know. After that they are on their own. If the sire dies, then the councel appoints a new teacher for the fledgling. There is no age limit of how old one must be before they make a new Childer, except they must be out of the "training" stage of their first year.

((Just for referance, cuz I've noticed something about reading minds))
*Malice's eyes shift about the room, going from person to person as they spoke, his mental walls were on high alert. No one could get into his mind without incredibly high (even for a vampire) mental abilities. If anyone -could- manage to get into his head, the most they'd find would be base emotions. A tinge of wearyness(sp?), slight discomfort, maybe a little offset worry, and a deeper hidden slight paranoia, and aggitation. His fingers steepled infront of him, with his elbows on the armrests of his chair.*
OOC: Don’t worry about the telepathy. I am only adding my thoughts into the mix because of an old RP I had with Rave and it makes for a interesting guess work for anyone who can read minds (I will never completely clear about what James thinks, you can’t trust things from the mind entirely because it is easy to make someone see only what you want them to see).
However, if you do not wish to role-play telepathy that is more then fine, it is a bit of extra work that can add to the atmosphere. Also, for the science types involved, you can use these excuses:
Vaccine also covers telepathy, or better yet, a new drug soon to be released by Wazzu.
Hypnotherapy given to keep the mind protected by multiple layers of thought. The top being a placed thought on a bit of useless science or working out the decimal places of Pi. The layers below are where you do your actual thinking, safe from prying minds.
Sear willpower. Seeing as some of us are based on the WoD system, I will cover the idea that your characters, being important, will have an above normal willpower, making it harder to break through natural defences.
You just don’t care. The best explanation yet in my mind, while they can read your mind, it only says exactly the same are you are saying and displaying by body language, so the effect is negated because everyone knows what you are thinking.
Of course, you don’t need an excuse at all; you can choose not to RP it at all and ignore the ability, because it’s one that is hard to RP anyways.
IC: Jan nodded at the Farseers suggestion, and said:
“Yes, I agree. It may make more sense to me if we covered the scientific viewpoint on the creation of vampire kind, I’m sure the scientific community have a simpler way of putting it without me having to extend my faith.”

Rave turns toward Malice. "That's where you are mistaken. Sires are responsible for their fledglings AND neonates for a good century. A century year old vampire is considered just a neonate...half a millenia mark an elder...and over a millenia mark an ancient as myself. There is no way we'd be able to teach them everything they need to know in just a year....that is impossible...and for me, not many things are. There is an age limit where one is ALLOWED to sire another...one must be either an elder or an anceint, where as neonates and fleglings are still under a sire's protection, not ready for their own. The CAN sire another, however it comes with dire consequences...an untrained unknowledgable vampire have their own will only produce the same but ten times worse." She looks at malice...wanting to hand him a book.
OOC: I don’t know if you know this, but Malice is a vampire as well, an elder one at that. Then again… maybe you do know and you are just preaching to him, either way…
IC: James was highly amused at Ravelyn’s correction, even going as far as to smirk at the idea.
“ So you are all governed by the same rules, or are you suggesting good practice to Malice? It’s just that in human society we know that in different areas things run differently, often because of the environment as well as other factors. I find it hard to imagine that other vampire follow the same code of conduct. ” His smirk changed back to a inquisitive look, a look of interest.
“ So what do you do if a hot head neonate decides to create his own childer, without permission? ” His look changed from inquisitive to serious and his mind was offering no help.
Kain simply looked down in shame as the Shentavos walked in. he was not even worthy of looking at them. He knew is punishment, he accepted it. But it made it no less painful for him.
Dr. Hans waits for an opportunity to ask a question. He stands up and addresses the crowd.
Dr. Hans: I have been in my own research for quite some time now and I have just recently finished that research when I heard of this conference. So now Vampirism has peeked my interest. I am interested in knowing if anyone here has done any research on the genetic level of Vampirism. Being in the genetics field myself I am deeply interested into what has been done on the study of vampire genetics.

We have many differant types of Kindred in our nation. One of the groups, or clans as we call them, are called the Gangrel. The reason that this ruleis in place is because of them. Sire's have one year to teach their childer what they need to know on an offical level. The Gangrel finaly agreed to this after years of arguing, because they normaly don't teach they're childer -anything-... under the law now, they are forced to at least be responceble(sp?) for a year.... the reason we made allotments for them is that the Gangerl of Eris Kallisti are the one clan that outnumber the rest of us greatly. Almost half of the vampiric population is Gangrel.... we had to agree on something or start a war. I was -not- willing to have a clan war and blood on my hands.
*Malice frowns deeply, not liking being questioned at all. By Rave's deffinition he'd be considered an ancient, be he didn't use Rave's deffinitions. Clearing his throat he suddenly seems like a -really- "cool" guy to most people, and more then likely people would be extreamly friendly towards him.* ((OOC: yeah. he just popped up the Majesty power if any WoD people wanna know.))
Most kindred keep close relations with their childer after that first year anyway, but they are not bound by the law to do so. I sired my own childer almost 100 years ago, and I still keep close track of her.
*He eyes Rave, looking her over*
What you have set for rules in your nation is differant then how we do things. We allow our people more freedoms, because that is what Eris Kallisti is about... freedom. Don't tell me what I can and cannot do, because I know -excatly- what I can do... laws or not.
*was that a threat? It was hard to tell as the elder held his gaze for a moment longer then typed something on his computer with another frown. From his tone of voice he was mearly stateing facts, but his eyes were cold and deep inside him something stirred. His mind screamed at him for not getting up and throttling Rave. He was Brujah, and that anger welled in him, and boiled... though unlike most of his clan, he had much better control over his inner beast. Calming himself he sighed softly, looking kind of tired suddenly*

Our head of bio engeneering on Eris Kallisti has done some work with a few of our people. Most of the time we hard hard to study on that level without tearing apart a "living" vampire *he makes the little quote marks with his fingers* We've found that when body tissue, blood, or even hair and fingernail samples are removed from older ones, the sample will fall apart extreamly quickly, even on a genetic level.... This has our Bio Engieneering head limited on what she can do to study us. Most of the fledgeling vampires are not willing to be studied anymore then the elders are...
*He shrugs*
The ones that have been studied in Eris Kallisti have been difficult. It seems each of our clans are very differant even genetic level. That does tend to explain why some of the clans are the way they are... each has their strength, and also a dire weakness.

She smiles softly. And if that last comment was a threat, I would advise you to think twice. *she said, not particularly liking the last comment herself...she was fine on being critizised as many did...but she took threats seriously, and to heart.* I never said anything about your nation, nor wished to.
*she turned to the doctor, observing him intently as she spoke*
"I have not done any genetic testing...whereas...you might have heard my...past with labs...if not..let me tell you. I was created in a lab. Torched...beaten...maimed...violated all within several days... Imagine having someone tear at your flesh every second of the day so hard that you feel like you're on fire..." she stopped there...she did not want to go into the story of her psyical creation. "You get the point..." *smiles weakly*

"It would be a shame for you to leave so early Ravelyn, we have only really just covered the first subject on the agenda... I suppose we spent a little long waiting for the scientists to formulate an idea.
"Anyways, if you feel that we are taking up too much of your time, or that the security isn't adequate then by all means, leave.

With more age, you gain greater abilities. The basics are increased speed, strength and endurance. Most are able to defy gravity to some degree. For example levitation. Anceints and elders sometimes and mostly have an increased psychic potential. Able to read some other's thoughts. Their intelligence level determines how deep an individual can delve into another's mind. Also telepathic communication is a plus. Your security is fine...just that some of the covens aren't too happy with my family befriending others...more or less their out for blood...literally. Though I don't have much to fear from them yet...but the threat grows. It is no matter for now though..." she smiled, only able to stay another ten minutes.
OOC: Sorry for the late post...was a long day.
Also, for the record, Lifeworks' (a company of Wazzu) vaccine does NOT prevent telepathy. Its full effects are listed under the vaccine thread. Lifeworks is also not developing any new vampire vaccine, nor anything to prevent telepathy.
IC: Sandman finally felt it the right time to make a stand...and so he stood up out of his wheelchair (somewhat "shakilly"). "Now that we have most of the religious and cultural baggage out of the way, I think I can make a few points" he says, while pulling a large stack of papers from a side-pocket of the chair.
"What I have here is a summary of parts of Lifeworks' research into their vaccine. As you can see, it is rather thick for a summary. There is a good reason for this.
"When Lifeworks first attempted to develop a vaccine, testing, by willing vampiric prisoners, showed that no particular try was effective against all vampires. Traditional approaches to making a vaccine simply did not work. So a large research effort was set up. Lifeworks mapped DNA, traced family relations, searched through ancient texts, and talked to many 'experts' around the world. And what they found perfectly explained the problem. There isn't just one kind of vampire.
"Now when I say this, I am not talking about different clans, families, or what-have-you. I mean different kinds of vampires, different kinds of vampirism, all with similar though often differing traits.
"Several forms of vampirism were found to be caused by viral or even bacterial infection. One was found to be a result of prion infection. Others were found that were magical in nature, some of which involved either demonic posession, as scientifically proven in lab experiments, or other magical attachment.
"Despite often truely varied differences, there were two similarities. All needed blood to survive, and all were negatively affected by sunlight.
"But there were differences even in those. Not all required human or sentient blood to survive. Not all were killed by sunlight, a very few were just weakened or made very sick. And lastly, while some were vulnerable to man-made UV but could walk in sunlight wearing heavy clothing, sunblock, and sunglasses, others were uneffected by manmade UV, but would burn and die even in UV filtered natural light.
"There were other properties that were common to most, but not found in all vampires. These included allergic reaction to garlic and silver, yes, silver, telepathy, stronger mental control over other vampires, the ability to transform into a bat or a mist, suseptability to ordinary water and especially holy water, weakness durring day even when not in daylight, obsessive compulsive behavior, paranoia, sex addiction, uncontrolled bloodlust, and many others. But again, they were all inconsistant.
"What this tells us is that there wasn't just one start to vampires, but one start for each different kind. And within each different kind, there will of couse be sociatal differences."
Sandman stat back down in his wheelchair, his legs needed the rest.
James looked impressed, at first he felt annoyed at Sandman’s reaction to the various un-scientific points of view, though he made a point not to show this irritation. Now James saw another side to the man, that he was a scientist. Suddenly his rudeness was excusable; after all, he is a scientist and scientists don’t go for magic, they go for facts. What Sandman said made sense and James liked it. With a smile on his face, James spoke:
“Yes, I think that much is defiantly the case. I have heard about different sorts of vampires since the time we became interested in them. In our own studies we have heard differences between clans of vampires, only small ones mind.
“But it makes sense that vampires from different locals will have different strengths and weaknesses. The clans we learned of, exist with nations that are close to one another, which is why they haven’t got larger differences. I suppose the best way of looking at it would be to go back to species and the theory of evolution, The vampires that don’t adapt to garlic in a area like France would find it harder to feed, making them weaker, knowing what the less… disciplined vampires are like it is easy to assume that they would be taken out by the stronger opposition who has adapted. Different areas and environments will produce different vampires with differing abilities because of natural selection, that’s why like everything else, they have many different species.” James reached for his drink after exorcising his brain a little.
“Perhaps I’m oversimplifying it all… but I can see where you are coming from Sandman. But tell me, does your vaccine work on all vampires if they are all a little different?”

Just don't ask how the Brujah is in charge when the nation is swimming in Gangrel *shifty eyes*))
*Malice clears his throat a little after listening to Sandman intently, and nodding silently. He has full intentions of answering the question asked by the Iuthain though*
My people get their powers in mostly all the same way. We develop them over time and improve on them when we can. Most of us teach things to eachother for favors and the like.... age doesn't always mean power though. There are elders who sleep for many many years and when they awaken they might as well be at fledgeling level because they have not developed themselves. Another way to gain power, that is not looked well on, is to drink from another vampire untill it dies. This proccess allows the drinker to learn from what that vampire knew. It also makes the drinkers blood more potent, thus taking a step up the ladder closer to Cain. Of course, this only works if the one being drained is more powerful then the drinker.... This practice has been outlawed on Eris Kallisti for a very long time, though a Sire has full permission to do this to his or her childer if that childer has broken the laws of the people.
This time, Sandman didn't bother to stand up...though the wheelchair and his shaking partly excused that. "Yes, the vaccine works on with respect to all types of vampires that have tested it, no, the vaccine isn't mine. I was able to get these research papers from Lifeworks, and while I have subcontracted to the company, I never worked with them on that project. It is facinating though.
"As for evolution, and I believe you are actually talking about natural selection, I am not so sure. Natural selection requires a hostile and steady environment. We humans for example are breeding and advancing so quickly, that natural selection no longer affects us. Even those with defects, poor vision, heart disease, diabetes, and many others problems survive to breed. Our bad genes continue unculled, just as our good ones do.
"As vampires are necessarially made of humans or similarly advancing sentient beings, they are not subject to natural selection either. Their genes are ours, modified through infection or so called curse or posession. I would say that resistance to garlic is therefore not a result of natural selection but of type of...modification.
"Due to the dangerous lifestyle of vampires, it is quite possible that only the strongest survive. But even then, the studies I have brought show that they rarely reproduce and that those who do survive live for very long periods. The fewer generations between offspring, the less adaptation we see.
"About this whole 'getting stronger' buisness or differences between clans of the same type of vampire, I can not speak. I have not read nor done any studies. It seems logical that someone who lives a long time would pick up and refine more skills, but to grow more powerful? It sounds like a front in order to gain more control."
Sandman sat back again and took a drink of water. He wondered if any other scientists would show up. Maybe then my lecture could become a usefull discussion he thought.
OOC: Oddly enough we should have a few attending. In addition to the scientists who are here there should be another one coming in from a nearby nation (on one of Iuthia's boarders to be precise).
I think it can be hard for some people to break into the discussion, and I can understand. If you want to say something, just say it and I'll reply the best I can, even if others are talking at the same time, I would like to see more participation so we have a broad specrum.
Oh, and James obvicously isn't a scientist... he's a national leader. Though I'm surpised your guy hasn't questioned the vampires more. *ahem* anyways... I'll reply when I think of something.
Mikael Kreoss stood up "I have had some personal experience with vampires and I have found that what has already been said is true. However I some more things to add. In my experience, remember this experience is limited so I could very well be wrong, I have found that vampires have the ability to transport themselves large distances, also I have found that they also can heal incredibly quickly, so quickly in fact that nothing but either completley destroying them or breaking multiple bones will stop them for long. Again these abilitys all improve with age."
OCC: anyone who has read Amelia Atwater-Rhodes knows what I'm talking about, and if you haven't read her work it's great (of course I'm 13 so our tastes may differ)

*Malice nods to Mikael*
some of my kind are like that, though I know of none in my nation who can move in great distances as you speak of. I've heard of it though. There are, of course, some things that will hurt a vampire more then other things. As someone else said, silver... this isn't true with my people, at least not normaly. The whole stake through the heart thing? This will not kill my people either. It mearly leaves them immoble. Each vampire is differant though, and differant things will effect each one in differant ways
An Armored Protectorate KD Bishop slowly pulls up to the rotunda outside the Bolivar Auditorium. Inside, Dr. Killyan DeStrahl straightens the cuffs of his traditional Ministry of Science garb. The two plain-clothes Iron Covenant Templars that had accompanied him since his departure from Valtorhas Air Station gave the passenger compartment an rather cabalistic atmosphere. Even he had eventually admitted to himself that their presence was probably in his best interests, even though he knew he would be more comfortable in a taxi on his own. The fact that the Protectorate held him, or at least his work, in such high regard gave him a fair amount of comfort. It seemed that the High Command would likely continue funding his research, and that The Jhucrave Academy for Advanced Studies would not have to worry about financial backing for the foreseeable future.
Dr. DeStrahl: The Bolivar Auditorium...So good to finally be here.
The Templars said nothing. Only their ice-cold stares burned straight ahead as they exited the passenger compartment. As they took their positions to the right and left of the good doctor, he slowly stepped out of the vehicle. As he stood, he glanced around at his ever-stoic companions and the modified elegance of the Justice Ministry-issued transport. From this view, he began to see why The Protectorate had insisted on such regalia. It did look impressive.
Dr. DeStrahl: We are already late gentlemen. Shall we?
One of the I.C. Templars removed a standard-issue Omincast SatCom unit from his breast pocket. He then spoke the only words the Doctor had heard either of them say in 14 hours...
I.C. Templar 1: Package has arrived. Deactivating voice-comm. Switching to GPS beacon only. Gauntlet 1 out.
Dr. DeStrahl: Do try not to frighten my assistant when he gets here. The boy is under enough pressure as it is.
I.C. Templar 2: This way, sir.
As they made their way to the grand doors, the Doctor straightened his cuffs one last time and entered the menacingly large hall. He hoped that the information he learned here tonight would shed a significant amount of insight on what had long been and independent pursuit, and what had recently become a high priority for the Ministry of Science.

The Territory
24-09-2003, 17:29
The two Territorial persons have been sitting quietly. One muscular Territory androgyne with cropped white hair lolls in her (his?) seat with exaggerated grace. Black eyes look on attentively, particularly as the Sandman speaks. Deliberate nods. Nametape on TAF khakis say "(A) SENKEI". Some background research will reveal this person as an avatar for one AI or another, allowing it to interact with humans.
The other tries hard to be attentive but she has a problem, especially when the Sandman speaks. She's about 23, looks human enough. Short, blonde, cute. Khakis cut for someone slimmer than the Territory norm, definitely odd since she wears a Guards patch on her shoulder. Shoulder rig empty of arms. Dead, empty, clear blue eyes. Nametape: "J MONROE".
Background checks come up empty.
[OOC: Sorry about delay - mainly tagging for now.]
[OOC: Sorry about delay - mainly tagging for now.]
OOC: Fair enough, things are going to get messy in a bit anyways, not becuase of anything I have planned mind. It's just that I like all forms of RP, even the secret ones, and this thread has one or two nations plotting in the background.
The Wisp had appeared, seemingly, out of nowhere. It had not, of course; gravimetric engines had borne it across the rolling green lands of Iuthia as the waters bear the white horse of an angry sea. Sleek and angled for stealth, its black absorbant paint had allowed it to dodge between the Iuthian radar scans. It was silent, and graceful, and incredibly fast ... a rebuke from the Lord.
The Lord Inquisitor finished the sacrament, and daubed the temples of his chosen group of God's children with the transubstantiated blood of Our Lord. "In nomine Patris, et Filii et Spiritus Sancti. Amen." He then garbed himself for war, his helmet clicking into place with the soft caress of gel sealants.
It streaked across the sky as fast as fury, and hovered low in the street by the Bolivar Auditorium; checking and decelerating by blasting waves of gravity into the wall. The pressure blew out the windows, glass falling into a thousand jagged shards. Its surface shimmered from black to mirrored silver and a circular hole opened in its front underbelly; a fibre lashing in. Figures in black armour slid along the fibre, pushed by the same gravity that was still slowing the Wisp down ... barely enough for it to not crash into the wall of the Auditorium. They were followed by a figure in golden armour surrounded by an incandescent glow. The Wisp's entry portal slid shut as it retracted the fibrous rappelling rope, a malevolent maw protecting its tongue.
Optronic targetting systems flickered around the room, analysing and assessing targets, singling out the humans from the non-humans. Were this a mission of mercy, demands for surrender would be given out; as it was a mission of extraction, they were not.
Those humans present - save, perhaps tellingly, the Sandman - and the Yvressian Farseer - had two of the seven black-armored men target them with darts, dosed with tranquiliser agents powerful enough to drop the strongest of men; indeed, too strong for the weak ones, such as the aged Sandman. The other five had a seperate task: collect vampires. Mere bullets could not be relied upon, not for such a foe as they were expecting. Hollowtips they used, hollowtips filled with a narcotic extreme enough to interfere with the pulsing vampiric heart and clog its arteries, things cleverly designed to incapacitate the targetted abomination until such time as its waking became convenient.
Lord Inquisitor Edwards chanted softly, his luxurious voice instilling fervor and righteousness into the soldiers of God, and the promise of retribution to those enemies there gathered: "Retribuet mihi Dominus secundum iustitiam meam et secundum munditiam manuum mearum reddet mihi! quia custodivi vias Domini et non egi impie a Deo meo. omnia enim iudicia eius in conspectu meo et praecepta eius non amovi a me. et ero perfectus cum eo et custodiam me ab iniquitate mea! et restituet Dominus mihi secundum iustitiam meam et secundum munditiam manuum mearum in conspectu oculorum suorum!"
**********************************
OOC:
I have permission from Iuthia to do this, the attack was checked on OOCly. Erm ... not much to note except they were very, very fast in executing it; the above save for the chant right at the end happened in scant seconds.
Information that may be of interest should people have a way of picking it up:
1) The body armour is full-fitted and looks very strong. Should anyone (guessing the Territory people for a start) have scanner arrays, looks like the armour is active on sending and receiving in all wavelengths.
2) The guns have sleek, long barrels but slim stocks. Read into that what you can.
3) The troops do carry melee weapons. The one in golden armour carries a sword that crackles with electricity - it could be God's wrath incarnate, but sharp eyed people may notice a tiny golden cord linking to his armour.
4) Anyone doing weird psionic scans/magic scans can find simply this: they get no reading whatsoever from the troops or the craft. Indeed, such a scan is blocked wholly in a small radius around the golden-armoured inquisitor reciting the Biblical passage, and weak for a fair distance (think opposite end of the room to be outside the radius).
5) Please don't call casualties on me ... in exchange I won't on you.
... Let the kidnapping attempt commence!
Translation of the passages:
2 Samuel 22:
Part 1:
5 "The waves of death swirled about me;
the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me.
6 The cords of the grave coiled around me;
the snares of death confronted me.
7 In my distress I called to the LORD ;
I called out to my God.
From his temple he heard my voice;
my cry came to his ears.
8 "The earth trembled and quaked,
the foundations of the heavens shook;
they trembled because he was angry.
9 Smoke rose from his nostrils;
consuming fire came from his mouth,
burning coals blazed out of it.
10 He parted the heavens and came down;
dark clouds were under his feet.
11 He mounted the cherubim and flew;
he soared on the wings of the wind.
12 He made darkness his canopy around him-
the dark rain clouds of the sky.
13 Out of the brightness of his presence
bolts of lightning blazed forth.
14 The LORD thundered from heaven;
the voice of the Most High resounded.
15 He shot arrows and scattered the enemies ,
bolts of lightning and routed them.
16 The valleys of the sea were exposed
and the foundations of the earth laid bare
at the rebuke of the LORD ,
at the blast of breath from his nostrils.
The second:
21 "The LORD has dealt with me according to my righteousness;
according to the cleanness of my hands he has rewarded me.
22 For I have kept the ways of the LORD ;
I have not done evil by turning from my God.
23 All his laws are before me;
I have not turned away from his decrees.
24 I have been blameless before him
and have kept myself from sin.
25 The LORD has rewarded me according to my righteousness,
according to my cleanness in his sight.

In an almost comical move, the avatar and the woman yank each other into cover. They're almost hit as Monroe locks dead killer eyes onto the nearest vampire and tenses to leap. There is quite obvious screaming from her headset.
Then they start leopard-crawling, the machine protecting the human.
Far above, perhaps four seconds after the troops enter, weapon-grade masers activate, flooding the Wisp and a certain communications relay in Whispering Voices with what is actually a fairly courteous warning.
The assault was quicker then anything Marco has ever seen, perfectly timed and out of no where, and it scared the hell out of him. But it was no time to be scared as he let the years of training kick in. It's funny how they train you day in and day out how to do the same god damn manouvers... he was glad he trained that much, it was like breathing to him.
Marco and a couple of the others pulled their rifles up to fire at the decending troops from the unseen hover tank*, only to for most of them to go down before either of them had pulled the trigger. Marco was lucky however, the dart hit is breastplate.
The un-mistakable sound of the magnetic coils, followed by a crack of the air was made as he fired his rifle off into one of the black armour clad men... just before he fell uncontious into a dreamy sleep.
*This is what we think it is.
-----------------------------
OOC: I'm going to need to cover a few things here becuase of the recent events.
Firstly to confirm, I did allow Wispering Voices to do this, like I said, I'm not going to stop secret role play, well before all of this Wispering Voices cleared alot of details from his plans, originally he wasn't to infect most of my nation if a vampire's version of cancer, it won't kill humans but... well you can guess.
In the end we reckoned that such a attack would be possible, only it would be pointless becuase all the vampires here don't need to feed at the conference... which is pretty much the way vampires get it.
So he concidered invasion. Invasion was ruled out becuase of the numbers involved, so now he is going for hit and run. All of these plans were made up by him to such detail that I'm ok with running it. He's managed to capture big name characters in many other threads (all heavy RPs) and this another one of his nations covert actions.
If you don't want to RP it, then much to his dismay, you could say that you left a couple minutes before... though this would be a cop out, I'm not going to get too upitty about it. I would prefer that didn't happen but some of you were under the impression that you were safe... which I didn't really help with... in my mind we are... or should of been.
Final note, I've RPed my guards from the outside of the conference hall, plus one Gauss Rifle going off at one of the guys... it should make quite a noise. But hey... I feel that a little warning might even the odds up a little.
WV read you telegrams, I don't want both sides claiming god like powers, ok.

Rave stood up immediately. She knew this was coming, and should have left. She knew something was coming for her...and she knew it wasn't the covens, for the attempt by them had already been made, and they had been left dead in her wake. She threw back her chair and spread her angelic wings as she levitated before her. Her eyes burned with a crimson red. "Don't you dare take one step closer..." she said. "Or it will be your death day." *her threat was extremely real, and she was extremely serious. Expect Rave Shentavo not to fight? Don't think so. Ancient words passed through her lips. Now James was about to see what she was capable of...and she was going to test her limits to the max. Didn't you say this was safe James? *she said with her infamous smile* ...I don't kill humans...but this might be an exception. She took in the surroundings. No dart would hit her...she would not be taken..and she would defend the others, even Malice..."You're not touching any of them...and if you want them...get by a very pissed off ancient first."

As the attack started the Telgorthrind looked up and smiled grimly, he had not expected this but... He reached into the pockets of his robes anyway, and smiled towards the assulter's, the small signal was sent, small but powerful, it reached the hotel room and his bodygaurd.
The Droid looked up and snarled, if anyone had seen it, they would have been quite shocked as it crashed through the window, activating the Jet Boosters and sped towards the Conferance hall, the Wings beating where only really for show. In One Claw it carried the Sidearm of it's Model, the Deluxe version, in the other through it carried the Witchblade of a Farseer.
Designed to be able to operate in both Space and ground the droid was rather quick, and had been installed with a Copy of Galdern's Genetic Code, it would fight to destruction for him.
Meanwhile Galdern looked around himself and and snarled, perhaps these people could not be directly affected by his powers, but he had other means around that, the less direct approach...
As around him Runestones began to float, the symbols constantly changing. 'I am Farseer Galdern, Ambassador to Earth, Member of the Council.' His tone was low and threatening and as he spoke careful observers could swear that the skin around his eyes changed, became harder, a growth seemingly spreading across his skin.
((Shall we say a minute gametime or so before the Droid Shows up. I'll finnally be able to test out this Bodygaurd.))

Sandman was multitasking when the itself proverbial "proverbial all hell broke proverbially all loose." On the one had, he was listening to what some people might call "arguements", more like dogma he thought. On the other, he was trying to formulate some way of sparking more intelligent conversation. So when the shadow like troops entered very physically unshadow-like, he was concentrating a bit too hard to look up and see what was going on.
It was probably for the better, at least for his eyes under the shower of glass.
One moment he was thinking, Aww hell, not this again, and the next he was thinking Aww hell, who invited these guys?
He heard something woosh by his head...or maybe it was two somethings. But he didn't hear the soft "thud" of Dana going down behind him, there was simply too much else in the room.
But old as Sandman was, and even weak from recent events, he was mentally sharp. There was nothing to be gained by staying up in a crossfire. He slid out of his wheelchair and cowered under the table, feeling better if not safer for doing so.

Unlike Sandman, Dana wasn't too preoccupied with the conference. She was here mostly as his help, he was pretty weak after all. Though she had to admit it was pretty nice to get out and see another country again...after being stuck up in Wazzu for so long.
Now, Vampires and society did hold some professional interest for her, but not all the one-upmanship that was being touted in the conference. So when the ceiling shattered into a dazzeling amount of light, she was caught off gaurd for a second. Her thoughts went something like this.
Damnit, my butt is getting tired.
*shatter*
Whaaaa?
*shapes drop in*
Damnit, I'm supposed to be OFF work.
*soldiers take firing positions*
First rule, don't get caught. Can't haul the charge.
*soldiers start firing...only two targeting the humans...Dana rolls off her seat and makes a low run for the room's door.*
I know I can I know I can
*a single dart narrowly misses Sandman's head. Angled down, it strikes Dana in the rear as she dives for the door.*
Couldn't, caught, what a pain in the ass.
*Dana crawls out the door and around a corner as a feeling of numbness spreads over her body*
I'll never live this down
*Dana's arms collapse as blackness overcomes her*
The last thing she hears over the battle going behind her is the steady drum of her heart as it slows down.
The Territory's maser-communications slick right off the Wisp, dissipating - totally unread. However, a response rapidly flies back from the earth-based communications relay in Excrucior: "All undead will be extracted for judgement. All others are intended no harm."
Indeed, the Territorian envoy and her guardian are left alone. Not undead, they have no place in the plans of the insertion team.
Marco's shot impacts into the body armour of the targetted troop, one of the ones with the tranquiliser rounds. The magnetically-propelled bullet sped ripped through the air before impacting into the trooper's armoured plate. As the projectile approached, a reactive armour panel shot out to greet it ... but it wasn't enough. The electromagnetic projectile hammered through the plate, and punched into the man's shoulder, through it, and into the concrete behind it. It came to rest there as the debris of the shot - metal, circuitry, blood and fragments of collarbone - spattered up and down the wall. The injured man slumped down and out of sight behind a desk, waiting for his painkillers and stimulants to kick in.
The Inquisitor's androgynous golden form moved forwards as his troops did, the shield of faith around him crushing magic and psionics in ever-increasing circles. His mask projected his soft, calm, and loving voice as they come further into the room:
"Why Ravelyn Shentavo, what an unexpected surprise. Long have the Ordo Sancti Mundi wished to speak to you. But you must know your scripture, false angel: "And whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among them, that eateth any manner of blood, I will set My face against that soul that eateth blood, and will cut him off from among his people. For the life of the flesh is in the blood; and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that maketh atonement by reason of the life. Therefore I said unto the children of Israel: No soul of you shall eat blood, neither shall any stranger that sojourneth among you eat blood. And whatsoever man there be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among them, that taketh in hunting any beast or fowl that may be eaten, he shall pour out the blood thereof, and cover it with dust. For as to the life of all flesh, the blood thereof is all one with the life thereof; therefore I said unto the children of Israel: Ye shall eat the blood of no manner of flesh; for the life of all flesh is the blood thereof; whosoever eateth it shall be cut off." Of course, I am sure I do not need to lecture one such as yourself upon the words of Leviticus. I say now: those undead gathered herepresent are abominations, and shall be taken to the Courts of the Order to receive judgement. With your help or with your death, this will be so."
His sword crackles in his hand. The soldiers with him, now certain that their bullets cannot be affected by any mystical deflection powers and would have to be dodged by normal physical skill - somewhat hard, given the smartlink targetting systems, but the room wasn't lacking cover - continued to shoot incapacitant rounds at the other vampires.
The Farseer is neither responded to nor threatened. From outside the building, the Wisp initiates its toroidal shielding. Ferrous objects in the room - loose ones - begin sliding towards the shattered window and wall. Little white glows cover the armor of the soldiers, and they seem unaffected; however vampires that had fed recently felt the iron molecules in their blood - denser than in human blood, due to the reprocessing - tug, painfully, at their arteries, their capillaries and blood vessels.
OOC:
The only god-like power I'm claiming is the Shield of Faith, which stops other people's god-like powers from working and forces them to rely on ingenuity or simple fast-talking to avoid capture. It rapidly gets tiresome when people say "I'm too hard to be affected by bullets! Because I said so!" And I am roleplaying it (hence the Biblical recitations). I'd be grateful if people could at least ... well ... make the effort to dodge or something, instead of ignoring the bullets. They're blessed holy bullets if that helps. ;)
I.C. Templar 1: Sir, we move. NOW.
The noise was deafening, even from the main hallway. Dr. DeStrahl had paused at the sudden and abrupt declaration in a form of Latin he had not heard since his upbringing in the Santara Liland Academy. He could barely understand it, and the parts that he did understand were troubling at best.
The templars needed no such time to ponder the situation. They had activated their beacons before the end of the first sentence was heard. The portion of their frontal cortex that they had long since devoted to the High Command in the pursuit of becoming a more efficient soldier had become a buzz of neuro-electircal activity. Wavelength amplifiers made masked transmissions seem plain as day. Adrenal stimulators surged a chemical cocktail throughout their bodies, amplifying their strength and effectively negating any portion of their brains capable of detecting pain. They had pulled the Doctor out of the hallway and back to the rotunda before he had even thought to flee from the commotion.
Dr. DeStrahl: What is happening!? What is the meaning of this?!
I.C. Templar 2: This area is no longer secure.
Dr. DeStrahl: Speak to me, you mindless automaton! What is going on here!?
They said nothing. Their only response was the muted whirr and click of their Kronin HH-5's, humming with the Covenant's modifications for high-speed projectiles. The armored Bishop screeched to a halt and the door immediately flung open.
Dr. DeStrahl: Let go of me! I am not leaving here! Far too much research is at stake!
I.C. Templar 1: This area is no longer secure.
Dr. DeStrahl: You can tell the High Command that I don't give a damn about the risk! I will not run because of someone else's vendetta!
The Doctor struggled as the two templars manhandled him into the passenger compartment. Just briefly, he was able to see another Bishop screech to a halt behind him. Just then, he thought to himself, "Oh, no...Lengor!"
Dr. DeStrahl: My Assistant! You must protect my assistant!
I.C. Templar 2: We are leaving.
Dr. DeStrahl: Do something, damn you!
Again they said nothing, the only shoved him into the open door. He was able to get one last look, however. It was one last look that the Doctor was likely to never forget. As he was expecting to see his Apprentice exit the limo behind him, he saw something entirely unexpected. He watched as two figures, covered in long cloaks that seemed to appear and re-appear as they tumbled in the evening wind, stepped from the vehicle. For a moment, they looked back at him with a cold blank stare hidden behind their cowls. Then, as suddenly as they had appeared, the good doctor watched the two figures disappear in plain sight. It was as though they had walked right out of the darkness, only to walk right back in. Momentarily, he was reminded of parables and ghost stories his grandfather would tell him about the desert nomads who could disappear at will, and survived the desert peril by consuming the dead. For that brief moment, he remembered the terror that had kept him up at nights during his boyhood.
As the door slammed shut and the car screeched away, one of the Templars briefly seemed to break his concentration long enough to look out the window and mutter what the doctor could only make out as..."Desert scum."

((OOC WV, I have no problems with the Shield of Faith but I do want some use of the magic I have at my command. If it makes it fairer I will use NS versions of Second ed Farseer Powers, such as the Duel. Basically you fight a brief Hand to hand Fight if I hit you take the damage of such a blow, if not nothing happens the magic is I don't take damage as I'm at the other side of the room. Or I might use a Fate altering spell that makes it easier for the people to hit you, but nothing more is this acceptable to you? At the moment he does very little but stand there as he has no weapon anyway.))
OOC: The shot was from outside (the area you came in from). It is why you only dealt with three black vipers, I didn’t use so many to cover every inch of the city. However the hall itself has six black vipers, similarly equipped.
IC: Everything happened so quickly; James barely registered what was going on. Heavily armoured men entered the hall, past the guards from the outside. Six men in what James recognised to be powered armour* and equipped with no weapon James had every seen in his life.
His first reaction was to dive to the ground in the fastest way possible, straight down. His most of his men went down without even taking a shot, their training was good but these men moved with un-natural speed… almost as though they themselves were vampires. The two that didn’t go down we taking cover behind the desks, noting that the dart were not very good at penetration.
One of them got started on sending a transmission to a near by garrison** while the other one made a point of being careful while shooting at the near by shadow men, so not to hit any of the guests.
Taking as much cover as he could, the Black Viper begun to fire as many rounds as he could, taking advantage of his rifles sustained fire capability. It was a joke to be honest… these weapons could rapid fire at full strength, but the recoil made you stop after the 4th round. Anything more and he would be shooting clouds. After the second short burst, one of the men got him in the shoulder and the world went dark…
While all of this went on, James stuck to the ground letting the two groups fight it out; he knew that he wasn’t a priority because his men were firing at them (from what little he could hear). I thought this conference was supposed to be safe. The voice echoed in his mind, obviously his mental defences were having trouble in the din surrounding him. It was the voice of Rave, though she sounded different when she spoke in you mind like that. I thought we were safe too; I’m loosing my best men here! James thought, assuming Rave would here him. Then James saw an opportunity… a Gauss Rifle just at the end of the row he was hiding behind. Slowly he made his way towards the weapon, making a point of not being noticed.
Outside, a minute later, the local “Peace Keepers” were getting a call every couple of seconds, every citizen above the age of 18 knew the sound of a Gauss Rifle, and it wasn’t a subtle sound either, each of them asking that they investigate.
Only they couldn’t because the Black Vipers had overruled this and were mobilising in a near by garrison, their forces only a minute away from the scene.
In the distance, the sound of magnetic plates humming could be heard as a small squad of hover tanks closed in on position, E.T.A: two minutes thirty.
OOC:
*We have completed power armour for men in drop pods
** This is Iuthia; there are a lot of garrisons. I’m also sure I pointed out that all my building are fortified, as in they are hard to destroy and make good defendable position… though I guess that only applies if you know they are going to attack.
I reckon the Black Vipers are going to get there on time as you begin to leave, and the tanks will only arrive on time if the people at the conference slow you down seriously. The peace keepers are a little further out then the Vipers, only they aren’t getting involved.
Oh yeah... *ahem* You not fully immune... just very resistant to their powers, so they have very minor effects.

"Oh I have heard those words...and I am NOT a false angel. I've hidden it all my life...but if you want to get serious here...I beleive it's time that the seraphim awakened..." she smiled. A seraphim!? Yes...a seraphim. "There where only four in the world if you look in the bible...and if you know any angels...they'll tell you of a seraphim named Azrael...whom hasn't been seen for centuries." she smiled, her prominant fangs showing in a threatening manor as she spoke. Her wings were out in full. "Could it be, that she looks different? Because of some event? Because she was embraced? Because a vampiric blood line mixed with that of an angel? Well...yes." She said with an even bigger smile. "And I think it's time that you see my true form...all of you." *she glanced at James then back to her oppressors*
"I've been tortured...I've been stabbed through the heart, shot, strangled, burned, cut, shocked...and yet...i'm still here. Now forgive me to deprive you of this priviledge, but today won't be my death day...I'd perfer a friday, if you don't mind." She laughed slightly...she still had her sense of humor. "Now...I think you should see something...." *she turned her back from them. With a burst of pain, four other wings emerged from her back, tearing through the skin, which healed around them quickly. She stetched them out fully. Rave turned aroun to face them. Her eyes deepening with crimson, and her six wings spred out in full. She was a seraphim...she was Azrael! "So I'm a false angel huh?" she said mockingly. "Just because I have a different set of teeth than you, doesn't mean my purpose and soul has changed in this world. When they created me...I was not to have a soul... They should have been more careful...don't you think?" *she said with a wry smile.* "Com'mon...let's see how well your finite mind can grasp the divine aspect of who's presence you're in today." *The angel took on an offensive position rather than a defensive...her body was quick, and her mind quicker...maybe she could take control of one of them...*
And God saw what he created...and it was good...
OCC: catch up time
At the first sound of breaking glass Mikael Kreoss's training took over and he dove under the table. He wrapped his black robes almost completly around him, this hopefully combined with the shadow of the desk would make him hard to see.
One of the guards had gone down near him, he quickly snatched the gun and started aiming for a suitable target.
-- One of the guards had gone down near him; he quickly snatched the gun and started aiming for a suitable target. --
OOC: The gauss rifle is well built due to amount of recoil it has to go through, these are the forth in the series, that’s why they are much bigger and powerful (like described when a round hit one of these supermen). As such you will be unaccustomed to its weight and even less accustomed to its recoil, which is comparable to a shotgun. They are so heavy because of all the systems reducing the recoil, plus it takes more energy to move a heavy object (but it hurts more when it moves). Most of the forces are given the mk1 or mk2 due because they are lighter, though they cause less damage and fire at lower speeds. Thankfully, I didn’t decide to give each gun a user identification system, otherwise it wouldn’t work.
OOC: No, Whispering Voices means that no, NO magic (and I think he includes psychic abilities) works on his people, good or bad. It is a long time RPing element. No effect, positive or negative. None at all.
Also, Rave, I think your charicter is just a bit godmody. Just a bit. How is it any fun to play such a charicter?
Tor Yvresse

OOC I've decided that for this Thread, and this Thread only I will go along with whatever WV wishes his people to act like, however after this Thread I want to discuss the matter with WV further. So will not hold to any set Roleplay conventions from this in the future.
On Rave Please we have people playing God's who cannot be defeated permanetly a serephim is very much in keeping with the nation leader power stakes we have here, you attack a person who has said repeatadly they are an Angel Vampire crossbreed you don't get to complain if they are actually what they claim to be.
OOC (for the last time I hope):
While I must admit, some of Rave’s creations are über death powerful, we have to remember that this is an open role-play and like Tor Yvresse says, she has been RPing it for a long time now. However, to balance it out, it works both ways. The men she is fighting are genetically engineered to hell (another reason for rave to hate them…) not to mention for of the hardest people to replace, I bet they costs millions each, not including the upkeep.
The chants have been discussed OOC in telegrams with me and I can confirm that they only stop vampiric abilities. Not angelic, or Eldar, only vampiric. That means domination is out of the question, in my mind that is something more vampiric. However, I’m sure there is another way to get to them, Rave doesn’t need to use dominate like powers, but instead simply powers of awe, you know “so beautifully that men will do anything for her” kind of thing. These men can resist with shear will, but otherwise they are not protected.
However, it is not my job to tell Rave what she can and can’t do, it’s her character. Just as much as the inquisitor is Whispering Voices character.
So to summarize for the rest of the battle:
Rave can do what the hell she likes, but she can’t tell WV that her powers work, only that she is doing them and they are god like, it is up to him to RP the effects, if any.
WV can use his technology and his inquisition the way he has been, but again he cannot tell us how many causalities we have taken, just like we can’t say we killed his men. Our powers can work on us (so Eldar Farseer can cast “fortune” on Rave or other characters, as well as protective spells).
I know for a fact that both sides will role-play this to quite an extent, WV said he will (plus his reputation as a good role-player comes into it) and I know Rave is a good role-player. So either way this will make a nice story.
This is the last OOC post I will make regarding other peoples powers. Though I may “clarify” one or two things as and when they happen like the above weapon description for the guy who took my Gauss Rifle.
Sorry about the OOC posts, let us continue with this mess :)
Kain saw the commotion all around him, he was barely keeping up. The Brightbalde guided his sword, blocking, parrying, thrusting. He managed to keep the bullets from going into him, those that where hit in the blade recoiled off with a loud bang.
Recoiling form a barrage of blows, Kain attempted to cast a spell..he chanted but...ntohing happened. For the first time in his life Kain felt true panic. His one ability which he truelly enjoyed was disabled. Kain adapted quickly and defended himself, his main concerns on keeping himself alive.
Cloak guarded his back, the bullets being absorbed into the matieral willingly, to protect Kain.
Then Kain saw something beautiful. Ravelyn had taken true form...so this was her true power. He relized who he had betrayed, what gift he had been given and thrown away. He was angry at himself, his punishment was not enough. His anger for his own actions where poured into the combat.
What have I done! I bretrayed her, the one most pwoerful being in this world, chosen by God! How could have I done this!Kain thought in angiush as he brought his sword down upon an ememy. He parried and punched Kain in the face, sending his recoiling.
Roaring with new zeal, Kain thrust his sword and other taloned fist into his breastplate. His fist made a dent, the sowrd burnt it;s way through, the demon fighting for it's freedom. If at any point the demon thought it would be more profitible to allow Kain due, it would have done so. But it did not. It continued to protect him.
A gurgled cry from the man as he slunped to the ground. That small victory was by no means easy, Kain knew he would not survive without his magic.
Charging through the combat, he began to go towards Ravelyn, to help her as best he could. It was only a small thing he could to redeem himself, and he did it without question. He lifted his sword as it burned with flames of hell as he held his warcry and charged in, fighting like he had never fought before, smashing his way through. He was fighting to redeem himself. Kain was growing tierd, but his sheer will alone kept him fighting. He was becoming usually tierd.

((OOC: time for me to play catch up now... woohoo hehe ok, if anyone has any problems with what I'm doing let me know. I'm playing a WoD type vampire, and the powers he's useing don't effect anyone but himself so hopefully this will be alright. Damn servant fo God... true faith is such a bitch hehe))
*Malice stood as soon as the glass shatter, and he bore fangs in anger. This was supposed to be a safe place. With supernatural speed ((Celerity 3)) he moved to a more defensive position, keeping his back to the nearest wall. As the chanting started he got wide eyed ... no... the sounds hurt his ears. His hands went up covering them, and he fell to his knees at the pain in his mind. block it out... block it out.... don't listen.. he couldn't fight these things. The power of faith backed them, true faith. His body shuddered, and he tried to get to his feet. Luckly he alway had a backup plan. Through his Gangrel connections on Eris Kallisti he'd learnt a few things. The power to shift forms was one of those things. With barely a second thought he shifted, his body changing shape, and becomeing, at first, see-through. It didn't take long before he had turned into a cloud of mist and started to float upwards, searching desperately for a way out. His mind focused and he drown out the sounds of the room. They could still hurt him, but no longer with the chanting unless they were standing in the middle of his mistform self*
((OOC: basicaly he's taken mist form. He can't move fast like this though, and the only thing that will hurt him is fire, sunlight, and true faith. He's already taken the equivilant of 2 health levels of damage just from the chanting, but has now made a point to pretty much "shut off" his hearing))

( What is WoD? I am do not know what it means...... )((I don't know if your serious or not, but for everyone's information WoD stands for: World of Darkness maybe I should just say Vampire: the Masquerade... a White Wolf game. It's an insanely popular RP game))
( What is WoD? I am do not know what it means...... )
OOC: Like what he said, only thing is that it pretty much covers all supernatural creatures and the humans that fight them too. The "world of darkness" part describes how the setting is basically like today, only the companies are more evil, vampire hunt in the night, pretending to be human so they don't get killed and werewolfs are eco-terrorists fighting against all the evil of the world, though mainly a evil corperation called Pentex. TM me for more information if you need it.
I think everyone has covered their actions... any more actions should not be assuming results of your previous actions. I would post a IC action, but IC time has to pass before I can.
The Iuthian guns spat their deadly vomit towards the soldiers, glinting crackling electromagnetically propelled rounds leaving the coiled wombs of the stocks ... and were sucked, dragged not towards the men, but to the Wisp outside. Its pulsating toroidal shield, a massively powerful net of electromagnets, ripping them from their paths and into a blurred orbit around it. Other small ferrous objects - here a pen lid, there a table plaque dislodged by a stray bullet - rapidly joined the bullets. The guns themselves were starting to strain at the hands of their holders, although not yet with enough power to do more than make aiming hard.
As Ravelyn transformed into her darker, more alien self, the Voices special operatives fanned out a little. This pushed them - perforce - a little further from the protective electromagnetic shield of the Wisp. One man, on the far left, was unlucky; a shot from Menoth avoided the curving invisible magnetic lines and caught him in the leg. With a shriek silenced by his mask, he collapsed out of sight behind a desk; tendon and ligament trailing fibrously from the exit wound. On the far right, two shots by James were bent just enough to prevent them breaching the armour of the targetted man, but were sufficient to knock him to the ground.
Ravelyn's wings spread, their shadow covering the floor like night itself. The man knocked over by James sprang back to his feet, and ducked away from a sword blow by Kain. The inquisitor did not bother to respond to Rave's egomaniacal claims to be a seraphim, simply bracing himself for the obvious attack, preparing to parry. The remaining one soldier detailed to deal with the humans pumped the underslung gaping barrel on his rifle; two huge pellets shot out at the doors - one to the door on the left, one to the door on the right. Viscous, glistening material sprayed and splayed out, forming an unpleasant looking web over the exits - and entrances.
"Time to see how much God truly loves you, fallen one," the Inquisitor whispers audibly.
OOC: I'm fine with Rave being a half-vampire half-seraphim, and powerful because of it. However, the funds of one of the richest and most military nations in the word are fully behind this specops team. They're not going to be walkovers. I'd be annoyed if she turned out to be utterly invincible, however.
Following applies:
Psychic powers don't work, period, ever, on WV people. There's a specific reason for this, it's related to the country name (a subtle hint to those who have read my RPs before). Magic is a little different - it doesn't work on the Inquisitor, or on those close round him, and then the radius decreases as you move away. He's a really pious person, so the radius is reasonably big (ten feet or so).
Just the way it is. Tor - what you *can* do is use psychic powers indirectly. Help Rave, for example. Help the guards that come in the door, if any do. Twist fate to make other people better, rather than trying to make mine worse. Likewise, the duel wouldn't work but it's perfectly viable to pick up a plank of shrapnel wood and try to just beat my people around the head :p
I would however like to take the opportunity to point out that several things have been known to work on Voices people in the past. These are:
a) guns
b) reasoning with them
c) running away
Don't despair just because you can't explode their heads at a distance!
/smack Kain for calling casualties.
Eris, you can float out of the ceiling just fine I'm guessing. Although consider the Inquisitor's faith to be "true faith" for sure ;) Severe Rotschreck!
If you're curious about the Wisps, there's more detail on them in the Knootoss war thread.
OOC: OK, my last words OOCly.
Rave said she was playing a vampire angel, not a god.
Remember, Vampirism comes with strengths and weaknesses. If you become a vampire, you get both...not just the strengths. It doesn't matter if your an angel or not. Thats the curse. Never to see a sunrise or a fair spring day...and many other associated problems.
Also keep in mind that angels have their own weaknesses. Consider all beings holy. Gods (from Ares to Zeus), angels, demons, and even saints have strong personalities...human personalities brought to devine lengths. And it is from these personalities that they gain their strengths, powers, and weaknesses.
Hephestus for example wasn't exactly the best lightning bolt tosser, that is what Zeus was good at. But Hephestus made some kick butt armor for Achilles looooong before Jesus was a welp.
A Catholic wouldn't want to pray to Saint Francis for safety on the seas, that isn't his personality, it isn't his specialty.
Azrael too has a very holy (if not devine) personality, and strengths and weaknesses to match. Becomming a vampire would only change and enhace those beyond what any human would have.
It is OK to play something or someone that is super powerful. It is not OK to say it has no weaknesses.
As for Whispering Voices and magic, I'll let WV argue his own case.
*shutting mouth now*
IC:
Sandman, still cowering beneath the table, felt a tug in his mouth. It grew stronger...eventually strong enough to whip his head around.
Upper and lower dentures flew out of his mouth, made very uneven holes in the wooden table, and began to orbit the wisp.
God damnit, they're using the same sort of technology as we are James thought as he manouvered himself around the room, keeping low and to the areas where people were already preoccupied. While moving to a specific spot James saw the slumped body of Dana, at first he thought she was dead, only after a quick check he updated her condition to "asleep".
The din of battle was getting louder and louder as they all shouted their battle cries and the sound of another Gauss rifle going off on the other side of the room. One of them must still be alive, I hope he was informed the others*.
He quickly peeped over the nearby desk to see what was happening and was met with scenes of Kain fighting some of the dark soldiers, James couldn't help think that these men were pretty effective at their job. But he didn't have time to worry about that.
Finally, he made it to the side of the room behind a heavier desk used for storing items for the conference. He was conveiniently placed at a good angle, making the magnetic feild work for him... at the correct point of the field to increase the power to his Gauss Rifle... of course, he couldn't shoot the men with the Hover Tank pulling his rounds like that, but he wasn't aiming for the men anymore, Rave would handle that.
James smiled, feeling like the hero of a movie or something as he fired his Gauss Rifle as much as the thing could possibly take, holding on to it for dear life as the rounds gained speed from the powerful net of electromagnets towards the Hover Tank... He knew at least a couple of them would hit the tank with a speed these weapons have never achieved before....
*This is the guy who picked up one of my weapons.
OOC: *sigh* OK, so I said the last one would be my last OOC note...but this isn't related to Rave or any such thing. It is an attempt to make sure a few things are clear.
1: Dana is unconsious, but also out the door and around the corner. You may be able to see her feet, but thats probably about it.
2: The magnetic field around the Wisp is pulling things into orbit...that means it is constantly changing direction. A conducting/metalic projectile could go ANYWHERE, no matter where your standing...but should quickly go up towards the Wisp.
3: Pretty much all gauss rifles, swords, and anything else made of metals or containing electronics is probably being pulled out of hands, holsters, and scabberds. This would include pocket knives, keys, belt buckles, zippers, steal plates covering old war wounds, and yes, metal fillings (potentially making holes in cheeks). Have cybernetic implants? Goodbye. All those laptops, pocket pals, and wrist watches are probably not only in orbit now, but electronically fried (EMP-like). And hey, lets not forget pins, microphones, the wires out of the walls (an impressive sight), and the tables themselves if they contain any metal.
For those who want to keep their metal weapons, I suggest they let go anyway...or they might find themselves flying in orbit of the Wisp.
The Territory
25-09-2003, 19:39
While some people of the vampiric persuasion indulge in sermoninizing in professional soldiers' field of fire, the two Territorials move from cover to cover for the door.
At least the minds behind the avatar are getting har contact information on a variety of things. Including but not limited to vampre response to trauma and the structure of the Wisp's defenses. Quite a few hours have gone into analyzing indirectly gathered data on those.
The thing behind Monroe focuses more on its target.
(OOC Sorry about the casulty part...reverse that. Just thought of something)
Kain contiued to fight, his fighting rapid and spontanous to the situation. Damn they are good! Kain thought as he brought down the Brightblade upon on, expecting for the person the die. But it did not, it simply managed to esacpe death for the fifth time. The battle was getting harder and harder, without his magic Kain was panicing a little.
He continued to make his way to Ravelyn, her form stood out from everyone else. But the closer he got to her, the closer he got to him. But Kain would not give up, not now.
He continued to dodge and parry through the combaticants, attempting to bring the Brightblade upon his enemys.
I will not fail her, not now, not ever again. I can still help her, it will not attone for my crimes, but I shall do all I can!Kain thought to himself, as he contiued to fight on, barging through. And all the while, the strength was slowly seeping from him. Vampires where not effected so much by fatigue, and Kain had not been casting any spells. What is effecting me? Kain asked inwardly as he continued on.
(Edited due to new infomation and misreading)
Other small ferrous objects - here a pen lid, there a table plaque dislodged by a stray bullet - rapidly joined the bullets. The guns themselves were starting to strain at the hands of their holders, although not yet with enough power to do more than make aiming hard.
It's not strong enough yet to pull everything into it, only things without resistance. Thats why I'm doing this thing of mine, the science may not be perfect but I wanted to do something dramatic.
May we pay particulat attention to the "although not yet with enough force to do more then make aiming hard" part, seeing as this is his describtion of his technology, this is how I'm playing it.
Science is nice Wazzu, but we have all had to by pass parts of it to get where we are. For example, how is a ship that uses magnetic fields to fly pulling our weapons in? Then again, it's probably some kind of secondary flight system, but you get my point.
Edit: Argg... just realised that if the rounds are being pulling out of the air (the rounds that are going very fast with alot of force) then the magnetic force invovled is stupidly high like Wazzu pointed out... the guns would be in the air by now along with anything magnetic... hell, with this kind of force the building could collaspe... maybe...
Either way... we have to either work it out or ignore it's effect.
OOC:
Apologies for the OOC note with no IC response, but I'm waiting for Rave and the others to post again, it seems only fair.
Alright. The Wisps. The toroidal shield (slight misnomer, it's toruses bunched into a sphere, really) isn't strong enough to pull big things out, yet. However, things fired towards the Wisp do just enter orbit. A good example would be this: a refrigerator (say, for a moment, there is one in the room).
The door would be pulled open by the field, and the metal shelves inside would be pulled out. The circuits would fry, turning off the power to the fridge. But, because the fridge itself is heavy, it would not itself fly out to towards the Wisp. Now, when the metal shelves get close to the Wisp, their path is altered and they're pulled by the electromagnetic field off their trajectory and around to match the field, starting to orbit the Wisp. The field's pretty static, really, not getting any more powerful - if the Wisp flew into the room, then things would change. The fridge would be ripped off the ground, and head towards it. Iron would literally be tugged out of the blood of those present (think the scene in X-Men 2 where Magneto escapes. Similar to that, except in invisible filaments rather than gathered into balls). Capillaries, arteries, and vital organs would be perforated enough to cause immense internal bleeding.
At the moment, however, it's not that close. The field is immensely strong up close. It's powered by a fusion reactor after all, whereas coilguns are powered by batteries (I would guess). Mass comes into it too - projectiles fired at it aren't likely to be heavier than it.
Kain: the sword being ripped out of his hand is cool, but you're right - the field isn't quite that strong. If the Wisp gets closer, then that's entirely possible.
Ok, and I've done my IC action before the OOC stuff.
How powerful is it's field, becuase I'm now beginning in understand what you mean but I am still hoping that with the strenght of my weapons will hit parts of it becuase I am now firing directly at it.
(OOC previous post edited)
As the Bishop roared into a small, indiscriminate airfield, Dr. DeStrahl couldn't help but look behind them. Again, he was half thankful for The Protectorate's insistence on such powerful vehicles. As always, they had planned for the worse. It seemed strange that a PMC armored helifoil would land in a small commercial airfield, but it was indeed the last place anyone would look for a scientist accompanied by a cadre of Iron Covenant shock troops. This escape route had been considered long in advance. The car screeched to a halt beside the waiting military transport. A Templar opened the door, then reactivated his Omnicast SatCom unit.
I.C. Templar 1: Package secure. Awaiting orders for dust-off.
i]Dr. DeStrahl: We can't just leave! People are getting torn to pieces back there!
I.C. Templar 1: This way, sir.
As the two Templars seized the doctor and brought him onto the helifoil's boarding platform, they began to remove their rank insignias. They removed the lapels of their uniforms, and the tight-fitting vingis collars around their necks. By the time the boarding platform had ascended back into the helifoil, they had stripped down to the unstable short-chain molecule body suit worn all Covenant soldiers. With their uniforms folded almost perfectly underneath their arms, they stepped off the platform towards the back of the carrier bay. Dr. DeStrahl looked around the compartment. Indeed, it seemed as though the High Command had planned for such an event. The compartment was housing an entire Sacred Circle of Covenant Shock Troops. The full count was there- six Knights, two Crusaders, and he assumed that his two escorts were part of the four Templars assigned to all Sacred Circles. They were dressed in full battle regalia. Their high-impact body armor was scarred with the marks of countless battles. Covenant Troops never made any attempts to remove battle scars from their armor. Each burnt patch from incendiary explosives, each scratch from close-quarters combat, each divot from direct gunfire was displayed like a badge of honor. They stood lining the compartment walls, no doubt wearing the same cold expressions behind their Rangefinder faceplates. All remnants of humanity was lost behind centuries of rigid military tradition. It was enough to make the good doctor feel quite uneasy.
I.C. Crusader 1: The Bolivar Auditorium is a war zone, doctor. We are transporting you back to Protectorate airspace immediately.
i]Dr. DeStrahl: What is happening back there, Colonel? What did I see come out of the other Bishop?
I.C. Crusader 1: That....Is none of your concern.
The Crusader was visibly annoyed by the thought. For a moment, he almost seemed enraged.
i]Dr. DeStrahl: Colonel, did the High Command send Scorpion Raiders into a godamn conference?
The Crusader said nothing. He only made a visible attempt at regaining his rigid composure, and turned towards the pilot's compartment.
I.C. Crusader 1: Prepare for dust-off.
The doctor felt the weight of the aircraft shift as the helifoils turbines engaged, slowly spinning into a loud hum.
i]Dr. DeStrahl: Colonel! People are dying back there!
The Crusader spun around and quickly walked to within inches of the doctor. He was an intimidating man. Dr. DeStrahl almost had to strain his neck to look him in the eye.
I.C. Crusader 1: We are aware of that. Those two desert rats inside the building are watching the entire thing. People are not just dying, doctor, many of them are being cut to shreds by gunfire. Our mission is to keep you out of harms way, and we will follow those orders. Do I make myself clear?
i]Dr. DeStrahl: Those are Iuthian soldiers in that auditorium, Colonel! And if I'm not mistaken, that constitutes an attack on a sovereign Urbanite nation! Regional Defense Force Protocols dictate that we must offer assistance!
The Crusader paused...
I.C. Crusader 1: You are wrong, doctor. The decision to offer assistance is entirely up to the resident commanding officer.
Dr. DeStrahl: I see no other higher ranking officers here, Colonel! Please...Help them.
The Crusader looked around him. Slowly, each trooper had raised his faceplate. The doctor was able to see that indeed there was a human being inside that inhuman armor. By then, the doctor's two Templar escorts had suited up in full battle dress, they stood at attention towards the rear of the passenger compartment. The Colonel, looked around him, then took a deep breath and said...
I.C. Crusader 1: Warriors of the Sacred Circle, I am about to ask you to defy a direct order from the High Command, but I am only asking you to do the job you have been trained to do since birth. As Soldiers of the Iron Covenant, you swore an oath to The Protectorate to carry out justice. For centuries, your descendants swore the same oath to many Lords and Regents. Now, we serve the Protectorate. We lay down our lives to protect her....and her allies. Who among you are prepared to do so?
All at once, the entire Sacred Circle snapped to attention, their voices rang out- "We are children of the Protectorate! She will have our sword! She will have our lives!
The doctor breathed a sigh of relief, then looked up at the Colonel, who by then was already climbing into his mobile suit. The hum of the suit's silent turbines came to life as two Knights snapped it's modular parts together. The suit made the Colonel, already a man of imposing stature, close to eight feet tall. A loud series of clicks told the doctor that his forearm-mounted rotary guns had been linked to the ammo drum mounted on the armor's back. All systems in the suit had come online.
I.C. Crusader 1: I suppose we didn't get dressed up for nothing.
The doctor felt the helifoil lift off of the tarmac, then thrusters kicked in to propel them back towards the direction of the conference they had so quickly fled. Just then, the doctor began to wonder just what he had gotten himself into.
Rave Shentavo
25-09-2003, 22:55
ooc: Gah! She's an angelic vampire not a Godmod...first of all I haven't posted any attacks. I have accepted that none of her magic will work on them..maybe for some weird genetic reason...and that's why I didn't attack and won't attack with magic either. IT's her true form...not being ulta powerful..just who she is. If she was a god mod, you would just hear a loud bang and everything blasted down to the ground...and that will not be the case. I am not a godmodder, and Rave would have died on several occasions had it not been for other characters to help her...such as Coro...or Vaughn, or Marie...ect.
IC:
Rave lowered her self to the ground. In her hand she grasped the thing she needed most...and the thing she couldn't let them take. There was a reason that she held a bloodstone...and why each was assigned especially for each vampire. White swirls glowed deeply within it...an ever life giving presense. She gripped it tightly. She would have to fight with it in her hand. Her magic had been drained from her fledglings feeding off of her only hours before the meeting. She should not have come. With none of her sourcery at it's full potential, she couldn't waste the effort...she needed to fight hand to hand. She fell to the ground on her knee, and felt the stone pulsing in her hand. She looked up, her scarlet eyes noting everyone in the room. She looked to the roof...if it was needed...it would be done. "God will always love me, as he loves all."
The soldier fighting Kain stumbled back, being forced to parry at such short range with a diamond knife is hard work. Indeed, the vampire backs him into a wall, and although he doesn't quite draw blood, he shreds several armour plates. The bullets don't seem to be hitting Kain, or at least - not hurting him. The pressed soldier's distress is quickly relayed to other members of the team, however. One of his companions easily vaults one of the desks, landing on both his feet behind Kain Irenicus, the knife stabbing in, towards the vampire's spine. A severing of the spinal cord would not mean permanent paralysis for such a being, but would mean temporary incapacitation at least.
The others keep firing their guns, now, at any sign of movement. Guided by sensors, optronic and terahertz arrays, any sign of a weapon poking out of cover results in the weapon - and the cover - being sprayed with depleted uranium bullets: the advantage of the tried-and-trusted ARES smartlink acquisition system. The special operative first injured, by the Iuthian gauss rifle, gasps as adrenaline floods his system and overcomes the pain. He reaches down to his appointments belt, and his hand grasps something smooth and round.
Inquisitor Edwards moves to close with Rave, his golden glowing armour throwing the dark shadows of her wings into stark relief; his crackling sword of energy contrasting with the bloodstone, white-blue facing red-white. His first blow is shockingly fast; his speed beyond that possible for a human, and delivered with a strength that seems like it could shear through the buttress of a castle. It's a simple, direct attack; a tester.
The Wisp moves in closer, gravimetrics keeping it aloft, its pulsing electromagnetic field lensing the soft whine of the engines into a drawn-out shriek. Plates begin to rip from walls and plaques from desks. Unheld weapons skitter towards it, mad dogs searching for a prophet. The sparks along the surfaces of the Voices' armour grow brighter as the EM field threatens them, barely keeping the Faraday matrix of the armour operational. In turn, the rest of the troops move further out - those that aren't wounded or engaged with Kain, at least, into the part of the room where they will be almost guaranteed safety without being wholly controlled.
OOC:
Thaedron, cool ^_^ But they've been gone for several minutes, I think the fight's been going on for scant seconds. Not going to be the shortest.
OOC: Am I firing at nothing then? James spent his last action firing directly into the field of the Wisp in a attempt to use the forces of both the field and the weapon to damage the ship. Concidering the range I am firing at, it should be pretty tough to steer the course of a bullet with that much kenetic energy. It may be pointless, but he thinks it's smart.
Failing that, James will go back to shooting men closest to him, despite the field as it will have less chance to deviate from it's path.
However... after a couple shots*, the gun will be destroyed by the automatic targeting systems and his cover turned into swiss chease, James is will be slightly injured, after diving to the ground, loosing function in his left leg.
More Black Vipers are closing onto the scene, a small force at first becuase it is the closest thing they could get there. Followed (30 seconds after) by a larger forces arriving via Hippogrith Support Craft, a heavy hover vehicle with troop carrying capacity.
A whole minute after that a squadron of four Light Hover Tanks will arrive on the street, each sporting slightly more powerful Gauss Weapons.
* Not including the ones from before, see earlier post.
OCC:
WV- Hey now, going as fast as I can here. I wasn't about to run in there with two unarmored Templars and a lab geek. The helifoil should be able to pick up the pace and make it just before the action is over (I hope). This seems to be far from over, and I'm sure there will be some mopping up to do.

Rave looked at the inquizitor. This was not to be a joy ride. She focused on the inquizator...and closed her eyes as the punch was thrown at her. She caught it in her hands directly before her body. But to her suprise, she was pushed back by the blow about ten inches, yet still gripped the punch in her hand. He was stronger than she had expected...this was definately not going to be a joy ride...the roof was there...if she needed to...she would. "Faster," she said as if she was teaching him rather than fighting him. She fought on as if the two were in some exagerated dance. She was instructing him...but why? The blood stone was still gripped in her hand and she was protecting it with her life. She kicked at his head, using her wings to support and force the attack at him. At the last moment she switched legs, driving the force towards him.
:: Advanced post, will take place after other post actions have been replied to - This is becuase it is late and I need sleep for work tomorrow::
James lay on the ground, his leg was in a pretty bad shape from the DU bullet that had shatted his leg bones, the blood could barely be seen with his black uniform though the warmth of the blood trickling down his leg to the ground could be felt, along with the agony of the injury.
He decided to stay down, no weapons and no agility he would of been useless anyways. Pain and anger were the only emotions that could be heard from him those vital seconds that he gathered his thoughts in.
Unsure wether he did any damage, James looked at the situation: Men faster, stronger and tougher then he had ever seen had burst into his conference with armour advanced beyond that of Iuthian power armour, couple these men with the magnetic field and it made the situation worst.
But something came to him, something he had overlooked when fighting. He had but one hope, Rave. Rave! He thought out loud, shouting in his own mind. Throw him into the field! Notice how his men adjust their formation to suit the feild, possible because of the EM effect it would cause. After this, James felt completely spent... falling in and out of conciousness he lay there bleeding...
James begun to dream...
Sandman lay in a heap on the floor, under the table that was once in front of him. Something came to his attention.
Over the roar of the battle, the whisper of flying objects without wind, and the pounding of his heart, there was a strange scratching sound. He looked "up" to see a pistol scraping its way across the floor. He started to reach for it, but thought better of it.
Three loud bangs announced that stray projectiles had made holes in his cover. I'm not safe here he thought, as he tracked the gun into a corner where it rattled. Something caught his eye.
A foot...I know that foot...does she know what's safe?
Sandman started to crawl out from his cover, shaking and weak but about as inconspicious as he could make himself feel. He headed for the door.

*Malice pushes himself as fast as he can (though its not fast at all, at best its a light jog pace). damnit! this is going to take forever! I have to get out of here! NOW! The celing was rather high and he was having troubles. Too much more of this and he'd frenzy.... that wouldn't look good if Empress Eris found out about it. As he floated up he watched what was happening below him... so much death. His inner beast loved it, but it was also angry and scared as well. Getting away was far more important to him at the moment. His animalistic instincts had taken over and he could do nothing to help or hinder anything. faster faster faster... Even his Celerity couldn't help him in this situation because he had no physical body. Soon, very soon, he'd at least be outside... then maybe he could get himself under control and do... something... he had no idea what*

Let the fates open, let all our fates be Guided, be one. Life is but one journey, let that journey run smoothly, take us past the dark roads and into the light, show us the true road, Asuryan guide us. Khailia-Mensha guide us
As the Farseer speaks the Runes shift again, any watching closely might see the form of Rave take shape, her True form, on one Rune, on another would be Kain, and still another Sandman, soon every person in the room who was ment to be there had a rune of their own, and those runes danced around the Farseer. This was the Physical manifestation of what he had done, What could not be seen was how he had reached into fate with his will, how while he was there he had Seen the fates most beneficial to them, and Snagged them dragged them forwards into view, and layed them out as the most obvious future.
As he continued to do this more Runes took shape, all hovered around the Rune that repersented himself, and he smiled, and still the Crystal spread across his body, and he was pleased.
Getting closer now he could feel it, was his Blade and his Droid, it's first priority would be to bring the Witch Blade to him, it's Wraithbone make up would shield it from this battle and he would be ready to join the chaos after that.. it would do what it was programmed to do.
((OOC My next post I think. The Vampire side now have Fortune cast on them, they have the better luck, luck being more what path Fate takes, and Galdern has shoved into Fates view the Roads that benefit the Vampire group most. The other chances still exist but they are hidden now, harder to get to))
James' shots, with the Wisp now so close, were pulled from the air ... until the Eldar Farseer's fatecast finished. At that point, the man he was firing at happened to duck ... into the curved field, crackling light. The ERA plate of his armour exploded out, but by then the bullet was being wrenched by forces outside the ability of the plate to stop, heading toward the Wisp. It slagged through, and caught him in the stomach. Blood and intestines streamed backwards with the force of the shot as he collapsed to the ground. The Faraday matrix of his suit was breached; iron particles unravelled from his body, now so close to the Wisp that they seemed like tendrils of black stretching out to clutch at the shining craft. He shuddered, once, and lay still. Vampiric senses, able to take him in now that his armour was gone, could tell that he was alive: being sustained by subcutaneous patches kicking in, maintaining him in a comatose state, oxygenating his brain. Alive, but without iron in his blood stream; not alive for long.
Inquisitor Edwards gasped into his suit as his foe not only dodged his sword blow, but grasped the hand that wield the weapon. Her strength was immense, and if his lovingly-designed armour had not provided strength to his frame, he would have risked being crushed.
As it was, she then released his hand, and kicked out at him, borne aloft by her wings, seeming almost to feint with one leg and then snap-kick at his head. He dodged, but not fast enough. The kick impacted, denting his golden skin, sending him flying backwards into a wall with an impact that sent dust and paint flaking in all directions. He stood, then, shaky but not bowed, and his voice projected:
"'We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty,
the One who is and who was,
because you have taken your great power
and have begun to reign.
The nations were angry; and your wrath has come.
The time has come for judging the dead,
and for rewarding your servants the prophets
and your saints and those who reverence your name,
both small and great--
and for destroying those who destroy the earth.' The time has come for judging the dead, Ravelyn. Do not fight against Divine justice ... and you will be subject. " He lowered his sword, keeping it pointed at her.
And then, the trap was closed. The soldiers who had appeared to edge out into the room, to flee the magnetic field from which they were protected - well, protected until their armour was breached - fired. Rapidfire, protein computers calculating possible vectors and speeds of dodge that Ravelyn could undertake, firing the spheres of viscous webbing at her and around her. White, immensely resilient strands of silken glue - a million times thicker than spider webs, and as many times as tough - enveloped the air above, around, and at her; seeking to bind her wings, and leave her in a more manageable form.
Outside, the first bolt of dry lightning struck up from the ground, illuminating the Wisp as its immensely powerful electromagnetic field began to shift the localised weather pattern.

Yea the Wisps look like Max from the Flight of the Navigator ^_^((OOC: Thought I recognized those pics hehe. Malice is technicaly still inside... though not for long))
OOC: Rave and Kain, I don’t think Menoth is a vampire, just one of the unlucky representatives who wanted to know whether vampires are a threat.
IC: A small group of armoured men advanced along the street parallel to the main road that the ambush had occurred. Clad in black carapace armour and yielding the same heavy rifles that the inside guards were, the Black Viper specialists entered a through the back of a near by deli.
Stalking through the kitchen, passing pre-made ingredients they moved upstairs. The residents had long ago evacuated the scene, following the guidelines they are taught throughout their compulsory military training. The building itself wasn’t the strongest bit of cover they could hope for, but the strengthened materials used would be more then adequate*.
They didn’t try to get to the conference hall, not with that… thing floating there. It resembled an Iuthian Hover Tank in its sleekness, but it had no turret, no visible hatches or even magnetic plates like the Hover Tanks… Overall, the leader reasoned that such a thing could probably make short work of his men… even if James, the beloved leader** was in there it would serve him no assistance to die without purpose.
Others entered two other buildings, making the group of nine now make three groups of three. They steadied their weapons and begun to fire at the Wisp… not really aiming at anything because they had trouble working out what they could aim at.
This went on for a whole ten seconds, rounds ripping through the air as the friction made a terrible cracking sound. Each round sped at the vehicle, gathering speed from the intense forces, only to veer of course and enter a insanely fast orbit around the Wisp and finally hitting parts of the orbit in habited by bits of building and rubble.
“What the… Everyone, cease-fire, cease-fire! The rounds are having no effect.” The leader shouted across the comms, a couple seconds later all Gauss Rifles had stopped firing. “We are going to have to warn the others, this thing has some kind of impenetrable field”
“Sir, I think know that it is” The voice was a younger member of the squad, an orphan named Justice ^. He had a minor specialisation in Gauss Weapon Repair and subsequently sent a lot of time keeping their weapons in good condition. “It looks to be some kind EM field, designed to stop bullets from hitting it’s hulls… depending on the strength, it may even stop the heavier Gauss Weapons of the Hover Tanks and the Hippogriff. We’ll have to find another way of stopping it”
“What if we just threw a couple of grenades on timers? If it stops the grenade, it will still go off”
“Yes Sir, but the field will stop the shrapnel as well, if not throw it in a random direction. The force of the explosion will not be enough alone and it could do damage to us, or even those in the building.”
“Got you… I better tell the others to equip themselves with C4, that’s not magnetic is it?”
* Pretty much most of the city is built to last. The main points taken into consideration by Iuthian architects when designing a build goes: practical, defendable, efficient and then comfortable. Tourists may not like it, but they come for the freedoms, not the few sights Iuthia has to offer.
** James approval rating is around 98% due to the civil freedoms he has given the people in his time as Lord General. The people of Iuthia are the 450th happiest people in the world. No top of this happiness, the media is owned by the Iuthian government, as well as the schools run by the military. The overall effect is pretty weird to outsiders, as it seems that all of the population like him.
A small boost was also added when James met Kiara (not Tiara like I said before) thanks to his PR minister setting him up without his knowledge… she is an Aerion Princess chosen by the PR minister to suit James… while their relationship is good, it has been wavering because James doesn’t want to marry.
The Black Vipers are especially conditioned to like him often because some of them are orphans trained by the military (it runs the orphanages too) and have had extending periods in training. Should James be killed (and it can still happen… it almost happened with the DU rounds WV started spraying everywhere) the military be confused for a short period, followed by the retaliation that doesn’t bare thinking about… we still have some of our “dark times” weaponry around.
^ The military aren’t very imaginative when it comes to names.

Rave looked at the thread coming toward her as it wrapped around her hands and wings. The first she was apble to cut with ease, and laughed slightly. She continued cutting them with what seemed to be the bloodstone She struggled to break free, but stopped and smiled. The casing wrapped totally aroud her, forming a cacoon. Silence.
Then a soft tapping was heard. Then it got louder. Ancelic words flowed through the building heard by all and recognized as Rave's voice. This was no sourcery...this was her celestial heritage....and her vampiric. A powerful burst was seen from the webbing that had tried so hard to bind her completely. It fell to the floor and Rave was left standing there, glaring at Edwards. Her wings were out in full, and her eyes were fully red. Blood trailed from the bottom of her lips and the bloodstone in her hand. She looked at Edwards, and never took her eyesight off her. Her senses were acute...and now the ancient had fed...now she would be no pushover. She smiled and flew up to the ceiling into the total darkness. She clung to the ceiling and shifted silently over his position.Suddenly, she was in a dead drop right over him, two guns in her hand. Her body straightend out and her arms extended as she silently soared down. She fired at him rapidly. She did not care if she was shot...she needed to focus on Edwards now.

OOC: Here is a thread I've started on the side, it came from this thread so feel free to join in if you wish, it's completely open.
Kreoss seeing that the enemy was focusing on Rave figured thids would be a good time to get some shots off. He takes careful aim attempting ot accomadate for the innacuracy the magnetic field creates.
A severing of the spinal cord would not mean permanent paralysis for such a being, but would mean temporary incapacitation at least
Kain roared as he attacked the soldier, backing him into a wall. He couldn't draw blood, and would nto want to if he could. He knew the dire consequences if he did draw blood. He attempted to incapistitate his foes with the flat of the Birghtblade, the steel burning with fire.
Cloak tried it's best to prevent the dagger going on, the cloak flashed a bright light at Kain's assalant, but it was hardly effective for blinding him. Cloak was being effected by the chant.
The dagger ripped into the Cloak, ripples of electric blue coursing through the Cloak as it wailed a high pitched whine, like a whale. The dagger went into Kain's back causing him great pain. But the cloak had done something to the force of the blade, reducing the letality of it.
The dagger pierced his leathery skin, drawing blood. The wound was trying to heal, but the dagger was still in him. Kain roared in pain and anger and tried to dislodge himself by spinning around, at the same time using the flat of his sword to try and smack the other man around the face, attempting to knock him out while turning to fight the new assailant.
Kain could not kill, but the Brightblade alone could kill without Kain being harmed.
(OOC Kain cannot kill by the way, he is under a curse. If he does kill, or even wound someone he will feel a great deal of pain, and if he does kill...Kain will die. Also, Kain's cloak is a magical creature in a sense. Will it be majorly effected by the chant, if it is, I will say it is fighting it until now and it is overpowered.)

no more running... no more running...
*he mumbled under his breath... but it might be in vain. There wasn't much he could do really. He'd been a buisness man for far too long, and his fighting skills weren't upto pare as they should be. Slowly he opened his eyes and peered down into the conferance room from the hole in the roof*

Bright, blinding, piercing light invades the room. All people at the conference stop and look around. A slight form takes place. A form of a women with chocolate hair and pale skin and a silver dress. Smiles. Winks. Then disappears. Only the wind carries her laughter. A melodous giggle.
The sleek Wisp looses some of the rounds fired at from the toroidal orbit, cutting - for a fraction of a second - the field; enough time to send rounds whistling at the Black Vipers who had fired at it from the streets. It's not trying to hit them, just keep them pinned down. Of course, it's targetters are built for engaging ships, not troops: the fire may or may not hit them or even go anywhere near them. Menoth's bullets were fair pulled into orbit around the Wisp: his gun tugged at his hand ...
Edwards spiralled to the side, dodging most of Rave's shots which then got caught in the whirlwind of magnetic forces. A few hit, golden sparks showered from his transcendent armour.
Bullets ripped towards Rave, hollowpoint tips releasing capsules of oxidisation inhibitors designed to put her into a state of catatonia. And then, she landed on her target. The Inquisitor crumpled underneath her weight, her wings arresting her flight. The armour stood up admirably: the man inside, modified as he was, shivered at the might of her blows. But he had presided at the destruction of the entire Roanian vampire hoard, he had pacified the Corpselands, he had survived attempt and attempt on his life. His body shook, but his mind and spirit were strong: as she plummeted down force sufficient to shake even him, he set his crackling sword of lightning hilt against the ground, angled to stab Rave through the stomach when she fully impacted upon him.
Unfortunately for Kain, the soldier's bodyarmour seemed strong: the titanium links absorbing much of the impacts of his blow. However, again the Farseer's luck worked to Kain's advantage - as the soldier took a step back onto crackling glass, one part of which slid out from under his boot. He fell over, sprawled on his back.
However, the diamond dagger in Kain's back stuck there even as he span around, his attacker dodging under his blow.
OOC:
Rave, you didn't specify what bullets. So I assumed ferrous ... please specify for future reference :)
Kain could not believe his luck. But he did not dwell upon it. The battle was not over. The dagger was still lodged in his back, the pain terrible, but the damage was uperfous. The heal closed around the dagger and it dislodged.
Kain had enough of this. He let go of his sword and ushered a command to it. The Brightbalde responded and flying at it's own occourd flew straight towards his oppenant, trying to impale him. THe demon sowrd if it hit, would burn him from the inside, the sword now showing some of what it was, the demon sword excreted acid from it's blade.
Kain was left alone using only his claws to parry. He did not even attempt to kill, he let the Brightblade do that for him. But the dagger had hurt him. But something new was coming into play. His skin was begining to abosrb some of the magic against him, very slight, but it helped. Kain had grasp of very minor spells available to him. He took adavntage of this, for it mihgt not last as he raised a weak shield around himself while the Brightblade was fighting the other man,
OOC:
Brightblade would get trapped in the magnetic field ... right?

The bullets grazed her feathers, but hit not her skin. Her speed was immense as she landed right on target. She had hit him hard, and well. She was distracted by the sight of Kain. She had not seen him, nor had heard what had happened. None knew she was back yet...all thought she was dead. The blade of the inquizitor pierced through the side of her stomach. She looked up and fell silent. She pressed forward, driving the blade deeper within her until she was up to the hilt. She gripped the inquizitor by the neck, trying to tear just the head armor off. With a strong and forceful jolt of the wrist, she turned his head, hoping that it would snap. She looked at the sword within her, the blood on her hands from herself as her blood seeped from the wounds. Small trails of blood seeped down from the corners of the walls. It was not a substantial enough, only enough to be noticed. THe seraphim's eyes went completely red. Kain...tell Vaughn...I...I love him... Tears formed in her eyes, and as she blinked, the tears fell in a steam on her cheek. They were tears of blood. She fell to the ground, and grasped the bloodstone in her hand. It was bleeding to. This bloodstone was the original...it was hers...it coincided with her. She fell to the floor, the sword still in her body. She gripped the hilt, and pulled it out. She placed her hands on the ground, trying to get up, but failing miserably. If only she had her magic...if only her celestial powers were at a full....they would have been dead by now. She stammered to her feet. There was blood everywhere...the blood tears falling to the ground, the bloodstone, her lips, her stomach...She bit into the stone, which was seemingly hard to others, and drew from it. It glowed a deep read and exploded into whitness. She looked at him, but to her suprise, the wound on her stomach was healing. Her vampiric powers were still with her. She held the sword firmly and rushed toward the inquizitor. "Let me return the favor..." she said, driving the sword toward his chest in all her rage.
The Lord Inquisitor's armour held up, the composite organic materials dealing admirably with the torsion of Rave's attempt to rip his head off. Rave pushed forward into him, the hilt of his own sword grinding into his own chest. Not only his own thickened ribcage, but the gilded plates creaked from the pressure. Then she kicked herself off him, his sword glinting in her guts. It didn't have a hilt, as such ... it was the power of the contact with his armour that gave it form, gave it its deadly purpose and power. She rushed onto him with the sword, but as it touched his glowing armour it glowed once more, lightning crackling back - towards the vampire. God's wrath, natural or artificial, was not so easily diverted. But she was killing herself, driving herself onto him and his blade wildly: animalistically. Her face, strained and pale, hovered by his, her ominous beauty filling his sight.
And then he reached out to the bloodstone, and grasped at it with augmented hands that could rip open tank armour. And squeezed ...
(ooc Correct, it would go into it, but it is part demon, so it would offer resistance. It has a will of it's own. It would be pulled, but only at a close distance would it be pulled away)
Kain turned his head as he heard the message from Ravelyn....Kain couldn't believe it. How could she die? It was not possible, Kain would not allow it.
I am sorry Ravelyn for failing you! I will not fail you again! Kain sent back as his eyes filled with burning tears. He ran towards her his eyes aflame with rage, he no longer cared. He was attacked but he felt none of the pain. A dagger went trough his leg as he went past as he pushed him aside. He continued to run, as he saw the sword go through her back.
"No!" Kain screamed as he sprinted across the hall, the chant getting louder. The Brightblade returned to his hands, the demon sword fully alight now, faces coming in burning torment. The Cloak, a symboiotic creature sharing Kain's emotions ripped itself from Kain's back, it's colour reflecting Kain's mood. It was the deepest black, and although it's magic was being supressed, it swooped around as though it was in the sea, it's edges a razor edge, electricity passing through it.
But Kain was far worse, his fury was uncontrolable, he punched, kicked and barged his way through. He sent his own magicks which he had managed to summon up in his rage, uncontrolled walls of force. Kain's skin, abosrbing the opposite effects of the chant glowed a light blue, an ability Kain knew of. Kain's flesh absorbed magic to a certain degree, and it appeared in this raged state, it was more potant.
Kain roared as he lifted his sword, getting closer to Ravelyn, he could not fail her again.
OOC:
Again apologies for OOC notes, I'm watching a film and have no time to reply IC.
Rave is next to the Inquisitor - close to the Wisp (which draws iron literally from blood) and where magic just doesn't work. Innate enhancements yes, magic no. And by close to the Wisp I mean any ferrous object is being pulled.
Mikael Kreoss continues to fire, he's also slowly circling around to where he saw the other gauss fire coming from.

OOC Hmm it's almost time, Just a few notes on the droid and requests for info. To the best of my knowledge it isn't Wraithbone constructed, I apologise if that confused people. I bought the Droid from Aeolsi however the Witch Blade is, and the droid has very specfic goals the first to get the Blade to Galdern, by any means possible, that includes going through Walls
So first question how much of the Center is covered, IE could the Droid access the Center by bursting through Walls etc.
Also on the same idea, how strong are these Walls?
Finnally What would happen WV if the Droid flew directly for a Wisp aiming to hit it, and then rip into it. That is if rather than fight the pull he flew with it? I'm going to do this anyway, but I'd love to have an idea of what effect it might have....

Rave blocked the sword as she grasped the blade with one hand...deterring it from her path. The inquizitor reached for her bloodstone. His hand closed around hers. The walls bled more as the blood flowed from her hand. She cried out, but Rave Shentavo would not give up that easily. She ripped it away from her and drew the last drop from it quickly. She pressed it to her chest where her shirt had been sliced open. It dissolved into her heart, and remained there...safe. He would not get it. Her black shirt was slashed violently in several places. A large gash ran across the top of her chest. Her pants were torn and blood stained. A few of her feathers had fallen to the ground, but still the seraphim stood strong. Her great wings spread out as she reached into the air, as if for something. Then, something came to her. It was a Scythe. Kain knew it well..it was her scythe, it was Azrael's scythe, it was the angel of Death scythes. "It is your judgement day...not mine. Leave...or death awaits you." *she said, her voice unwavering as blood spilt from her lower lip. She held her scythe tightly, and slashed out at the inquizitor. A blade that cut metal, sacred and powerful.

*Malice raised a brow at the scene below. His Brujah side wanted to join the fight, to share in the bloodshed, but his more humane half told him to let it go. It seemed the other vampires were doing alright, a little damaged but they'd survive... the humans? it was hard to tell. From where he crouched, and looked down from on his spot on the roof, he could -see- anyone who was desperately hurt. Then again, he couldn't see James anywhere... The elder closed his eyes for a moment then reopened them. Maybe... just maybe... he could try and get back in there. Quitely he switched forms again and changed into a bat. He was able to squeeze past the webbing and crawl along the celing and down the wall again. Staying alert he looked for mortals who might need some assistance*

Rave: You forget my other heritage...*her eyes were compeletely red now. She was in a blood rage....an ancient in a blood rage was not a thing to be taken lightly. Rave brings her Scythe around again, slashing the glue like thread in two. The metal of the blade glimmered. Her hand bled still, and healed again from the slashes. The bloodstone was now within her and safe from other's grasps. Her Scythe hit the wall hard and it tore through the brick with her force. She whirled around to face him* Death doesn't await everyone...and I have complete faith in the creator whom sent me here to bring balance...and that is what I have done. *she said defiantly* Forgive them Lord, they know not of what they do. *she says softly in prayer. Unlike herself, the inquizitor did not heal. She rushed at him with the scythe again and slashed at him in different dirrections with awesome speed. She was in the entirety of rage and her stuborness would not let her run.
At the door now, Sandman drooled from his dentureless mouth as he tried to squeeze under the webbing to Dana. Even human, and further from the Wisp then the vampires (if not by terribly much), he was starting to feel light headed as the magnetic field pulled on iron and ion. He knew he had to get out.
As if to agree, induced lightning struck the table behind him, the table he had left not too long ago with the same feeling. [[OOC: And no, he is not psychic or any such thing...just a gut feeling]]. If there was lightning outside, then certainly more of it would occur under the shattered glass ceiling much nearer the Wisp.
Sandman struggled through the bonds, pushing Dana's feet out of the way.
((OOC: who's mortal that's still in here anyway? Or even any immortals who are in desperate need of help. I think Kain and Rave are doing ok. How's everyone else? I'm getting a little lost.))
OOC: James is still lying on the floor, anyone who paid attention would of seen him fire a couple shots (effectivly killing on of the hunters) then his cover was peppered with Depleted Uranium rounds thanks to a careless automated targetting system trying to stop the gun fire.
James consquently hasn't got up. For arguements sake and to give him a better chance of not being dead by the end of this (cuase I don't want my nation entering what would be like the holy Jyhad described on Dune) James is furthest way from the field, near the small door at the back which was designed for Jan to use (he is unconsious, as are six Black Vipers). All rifles have flown into the magnetic field except for the one that Menoth is holding... I'm surprised he didn't get shot, but that is no matter, it is hard to keep track of the implications of our actions.
Anyone who can see James's body will see a unconious man with alot of blood pooling around his leg... but I doubt anyone knows that he is not bleeding anymore (see James's Dream thread) but has in return entered a coma. He is still in pretty bad shape and if WV moves that Wisp too close all the iron in his blood will escape, subsquently killing him.
More black vipers are closing on the position (though not there yet) and they are in a Hippogrith Support Craft, which is like the cross between a Harrier and a Hover Tank... it's pretty well armed, but not well enough. The craft is more of a personnel carrier, but it's role is to support.
Problem is that when it gets too close, the EM effect will kick in, much to the delight of WV...
Note: For those Vampires who are high enough tension as it is, the smell of blood in this room is becoming overwhelming, alot of death plus violent wounds should be pretty bad for you WoD vampires...
Kain further forward and felt pain through him, his eyes closed in the pain, his blood was ripping apart from him. The feeling was horrifying and infuriating. Concentrating with all his fibre of his being he ordered his body to keep as one, at the concequence of not being able to absorb the magic in the area. His already weak shield went down. The result was one which Kain had not relized before doing.
The Brightblade was attacking Kain! The result of the Chant upon the Brightblade...that it would be once again under the influance of the Seer. Locked together, the sword handle and Kain hand, the two spirits intwined fought for supremicy. Kain was losing control, it was too much. The world around him seemed to spin and become blackened. Kain fell onto his knees, his breathing harsh and his body was shaking, the inner combat ravaging him.
But...the Iniquitors weapon saved Kain's life, and perhaps his soul this day. The Brightblade was being pulled out of his grip! Kain relised that the one weapon which would destroy him, and keep him alive was being ripped from his hand. The sense of hopelessness came over Kain, he had no options. He would die regardless, either to the Brightblade's consumation of his soul, the bloodthirst, or his numerous enemys in both events.
Had Kain been alone in this, he would not have known what to do. But Kain had more than himself to think about. He had his old and idiotic people to worry about, the Psi. He had the Seer to deal with. He had his fledgling which had caused him so much pain to Kain inadvertantly. He had to redeem himself to Ravelyn.
Demon, you will never be free if you slay me, you know this![/] Kain called to the Brightblade. Stop this maddness!. Kain threw the Brightblade away, and it hurtled into the air, drawn by the magnetic field, it was still trying to cause death whenever it could.
Kain lied on the floor recovering. But slowly, he got up, the thirst taking him once more. He needed sustiance, but that only fueled his rage. His body was under control barely, the field was drawing the iiron from his blood, but he did not allow it to move, it took a feat of will to do it. Kain standing up, his body still shaking.
He began to run again, each step becoming harder as his body become more painful, but he did not allow the magnetic field to destroy him. He had too much to lose. Seeing Ravelyn with the Death Sythe, new hope flickered within Kain, and it drove him on. He was so close...but his movements where becoming harder to perform. He was determined to help, as he continued to fight like a madman with everything to lose.

Crack Outside one could see the arrival of the Droid uncaringly striking at the Wall, with all it's might and it began to shake, Plaster and concrete cracking and straining under the first blow.
Crack Another blow the same place with the accuracy only a Droid could repeat, more Cracks more straining of the walls, more force applied. now small Holes began to form in the wall, and around it, light could be seen coming from the holes.
CRACK The walls shake and fall and a hole large enough for the droid to use forms, and it strides into the Chamber, in one hand a Blade in the other a rifle, it strides purposefully over to the Farseer, shots raining around it, and some impacting but for now the Droid was ignoring the damage it was sustaining.
Galdern Smiled as he took the Witch Blade in hand, the Runes glowed more forcefully and he strode forward towards the soldiers that would dare attack a Farseer Behind him the Droid also advanced now opening fire with it's Rifle, and seeking the perfect oppertunity to complete the next stage of it's plan, a plan formed from tactical anayalsis.
"Your delusions won't help you against me, Ravelyn," the armoured suit whispers. His words are belied somewhat, by the fact he is forced constantly to defend. Her attacks are too fast, too furious, too angry to allow him a chance to attack her without risking a fatal injury in return. "And your arrogance will be your downfall ... it always is ... " He parries, then: but not quite fast enough, it seems. His sword parries awkwardly, and he takes the full force of the blow of the scythe. He collapses to the floor, as Ravelyn stands over him, by the window.
"Keep me, O LORD , from the hands of the wicked; protect me from men of violence who plan to trip my feet. Proud men have hidden a snare for me; they have spread out the cords of their net
and have set traps for me along my path. Selah!
And then, with the man safely on the ground ... the Wisp releases its gathered projectiles, the iron particles, the gaussgun rounds, gaussguns themselves. Brightblade, wires superheated and lashing from the electromagnetic field, capable of cutting through steel. Pipes and heat and bits of blood hurtle the few feet into the fallen angel with enough speed to vapourise metal. Immediately, almost, the field is reapplied: the objects are wrenched, curved, and brought back ... back through her position again, as the Wisp shifts, an arcing figure-of-eight of superheated pain.
OOC:
Oki ...
1) the viscous glue would need to be scraped from the wings, not just cut off.
2) Brightblade is amongst the things being hurled into Rave. Have to ask Kain what that would do.
3) They're not just going to bounce off - the force applied to them is way beyond that. If they're not going to do lasting damage, it'd be from healing and that sort of thing as they pass through the person. Just not bounce off :P
4) Imagine it like a figure of 8. The Wisp is the top part of the eight. Ravelyn is the intersection. It fires the materials at her, they shoot down, it curves them back round and through her again as they complete the lower loop and then come back into orbit around it.
5) Kain would be in their path, too. Not sure what that would achieve. Also, the iron particles from Ravelyn's bleeding - are they being sucked away or not? :)

*Still in bat form, and crawling along the walls it seemed Malice went unnoticed... good.. everyone else could keep those damn maniacs busy. Using Celerity he moved with unnatural speed as he spotted James and headed in his direction. The smell of the lood in the air was starting to get to him, he'd been using his powers a lot but he still have over half of his blood pool left. He'd be ok for a while longer... blocking the scent from his nose, and making a point not to look at too much of the gore, he reached James. With a quick scan of his aura he frowned. Damnit... the guy wasn't doing too well*
now what...
*Glancing around he moved behind another desk and shifted to his normal human form. Once again with the supernatural speed he lifted james carefully and got behind another desk. He knew how much blood a human could loose without being harmed, but James was deffinately beyond that. He felt for the man's heartbeat and other vitals he could tell without equipment*
shit shit shit...
*he had two options... one was compleatly out of the question... the other, well it would help James live and snap him out of the coma, but he might not like it later*
((OOC: Alright... James is in a coma, and without machines to keep him stable he'll die. Malice has two options... turn him, or ghoul him. He won't turn him without permission. Ummm... hopefully James won't be too mad about all this hehe also remeber that ghouling doesn't have to be perminent, but that can be played out later *shifty eyes* hehe *waits for next turn*))
During the few moments that the magnetic field is shut off Mikael pours shot after shot into the Wisp and any other target he can find. As soon as the field comes back on he starts sneaking back around to where james is.
OCC: I dont know how long the field is off if it's only off long enough for one target I shoot at the wisp.
Kain continued to run and saw the tiems flying towards Rave....he saw the Brightblade. He could not allow that to hurt her! That would cause too much damage! Kain ordered the Brightblade towards his hand. The sword did not respond.
The Birghtblade was just about to go into her...Kain was horrified. But at the last second, the Brightblade responded. It curved around her, the sword bending unnaturaly. Kain rejoiced inside, but there was still many things going towards her.
The Brightblade flew in the figure of eight until it came to Kain. It flew to Kain's hand, as it was in it's path. Feeling it's touch once more near him, Kain felt at ease from the thirst and he regained clarity of mind.
Kain looked forwards as he saw the pipes and superheated wire coming towards him. He did not have time to react and was thrown backwards in pain as it collided with him. He flew backwards on the ground, Kain was cut open in the midsection by the wire, the wound was burning. Kain groaned in pain, as it slowly healed, the floor covered with a smear of his own blood where he was thrown backwards.
He looked up at it spinning, and tried to recover. He offered a silent prayer to whatever God might be listening to help Ravelyn, and grant him the ability to help her.

Bwaahaha. You sly old dog. Bloodbond!((OOC: I'm so glad people appreciate my diet coke evil LOL))
You have to do it three times to blood bond him. The first time just makes him feel a little closer to you, but I don't become loyal. The second time I will feel alot closer (you will always be able to find me) and I will have to use willpower to work against you. Third time and I become completely bound to your character, making it almost impossible to do a small thing against you, secretly I may hate you, but openly I will love you.
The coma doesn't represent James's organs stop working, only his mind going in on it's self due to outside influence used to stop the bleeding. I may need medical attention, but it can wait ten minutes (the action will be done by then). The immediate danger is the wisp and it's field of flangy science.

ooc:
1. The glue was cut before it hit her wings and dettered...it never hit her wings.
2.Can she use celestial powers? Born with it withing her...mostly healing speed and defense..only one type of attack she can use with them. It's ok if this EM thingy doens't allow it...it's just that it's hard to beleive that one thing could block everything...
3. Blood rage is exerting entire force.
4. Did the Inquizitor die?...*walks around inquizitor poking him with a stick*
5. We're taking bets on how long it will be before Rave exhausts from blood loss...fifteen minutes! do I here twenty? Twenty to the pissed off angel in the red. Can we get twenty five?
IC:
Ravelyn lets out a scream of pain as they tear through her. She falls to her knees, coughing up blood. They soar through her as her flesh is torn. None had hit her heart! How could that be? How could non have it her heart? The answer lay within her...the bloodstone had protected her, but it couldn't protect the rest of her body. She watched as more of her blood was spilt to the ground. She staggered up...the wounds closing, but the pain return as she was hit again...but this time she was ready. She deflected what she could with the sky and shot up into the air. She hit the ceiling and flipped. She pushed off of it with her feet, and landed swiftly on the ground with her Scythe. She needed to hold on...she needed to take everything out now before her blood rage was over and she was to exhausted to continue. She was pressing her limits.
(if the inquizitor is dead...please read on...if he isn't...disregard. :D )
Ravelyn turned around to face the wisp. Her red eyes glaring. She smiled deeply with fangs that would make the devil run in fear. Two piercing sharp white fangs rested on her lower lip as she rushed toward the wisp. She flipped into the air, bringing her reign down upon the wisp in viocious stroke of the Scythe that would slice the hardest metal...and the hardest of souls.
Kain sheaved the sword, keeping it from going anywhere again. the sheave closed itself around the Brightblade tightly. He looked onto Ravelyn, how she fought superbly. But she was failing....she was getting weaker...Kain tried to get up, but he failed.
He tried to get up again, slowly. He did so, his legs supporting him again. If only I had wings....kain thought to himself, he could not make a spell to make himself levitatate due to the chant... He pressed on, trying to get closer to the Inquistor.
(OOC Where is the chant coming from? Or is it from tons of people?)
"And so will pride be the downfall of men and angels both, until the End of Days," whispered the Inquisitor as he pushed himself to his feet, raising his sword to once again parry the raging blows from Rave. He was not tired, yet - indeed, he could keep this up for days. No, the danger was the fact that even defending against the Shentavo fiend was pressing his honed skills to their limits. He wasn't finding the time between blows to attack her, at all - he was being forced to rely on distractions, and outside influences. And the persistent Kain was still staggering towards him, despite it all. He could not afford such a thing.
"O LORD, I say to you, "You are my God." Hear, O LORD , my cry for mercy. O Sovereign LORD, my strong deliverer, who shields my head in the day of battle- do not grant the wicked their desires, O LORD; do not let their plans succeed, or they will become proud. Selah!" he sang, as he gestured towards the staggering but unbroken Kain Irenicus.
The three special operatives currently standing understood: the other one capable of action began picking himself off the floor, shattered glass skittering underfoot. One went onto overwatch, reaffirming his notion of shooting anyone who popped into view that still posed a threat. The other two swivelled, turned, faced Kain. Muscles linked to the guns twitched, and they clicked as the viscous grenades were withdrawn into their ammunition compartments and replaced with something entirely different ...
Triggers pulled, target acquired by smartlink muscle stimulation, and jets of white phospherous - reactive with the air itself - gouted towards Kain.
OOC:
Oki. OOC point time again /grin
Kain: the chant is coming from the Inquisitor. He's right close to the window area now, very close to the Wisp - and surrounded by an aura of holiness, if such affects Kain.
Rave:
1. the glue is viscous - scything through it would simply make it pass around the scythe blade, not really stop it or affect it. It's not string so much as ... as ... well, imagine trying to cut through Ghostbuster's style ectoplasm consistency stuff. Although it's not magic, it really is just very strong organic glue.
2. The thing about the celestial powers is that to my country, God is on their side ... you yours, he's on your side. I'd rather just say they essentially "cancelled each other out" than end up with cities turned to salt and things.
3. The EM field of the Wisp doesn't affect powers or such - only ferrous objects and conductive objects. Admittedly, most of the weapons used are made of those things due to those very properties, but it's not like a "universal field" or whatever. The Wisp has layered defences, it's just the toroidal shield is best against electromagnetic reliant countries ... as, unfortunately, Iuthia appears to be
4. I'm taking into account the blood rage. As a guide, the inquisitor is very very very powerful, well trained, massive investment by a huge military country that specialises in bio-organics (we actually stole/bought all the technology used in the Wisps :p). I only sent in one Inquisitor and five templars to pacify the entire Roanian Commerce Intelligence Agency of vampires ... I'm representing the fact she's on full offence by making him go full defence with no chance to attack just to stay alive. Hence he's using misdirection to let other people attack her.
5. The Inquisitor didn't die. He faked the fall so he wouldn't get hit with the Wisp's stuff whilst not giving away blatantly it would attack her.
In the unlikely event I win (since I've got two incapacitations and none of the vampires are down) my intention is to take people for trial, so if anyone doesn't like the idea of roleplaying a trial of their character and it looks like I'm about to win, feel free to Mist-form away.

*Malice frowns at everything going on around him. Damnit, he needed James to be back on his feet and functional if he was to get away..... he'd deal with the after effects later. Biting into his own wrist he stuck it too James mouth, forcing his blood into the human's mouth. This should awaken him, heal his leg compleatly, and make him stronger and quicker... of course it'd ghoul him in the process too. Looking around him Galdern Smiled it seemed the engament was shifting their way, now he would add his skills, for now it appeared the Inquistor was busy with Rave, and not familar with her Combat style he would not join that fight, for they would likely harm each other as much as the Inquistor, so he rather charged one of the other operatives.
Ahead of him charged the Droid it would stay with Galdern until it reached the edges of the Wisp Field then, it would join the pull of that field. The Droid had a Plan.
Galderns Blade flashed in the light, as he entered the Field the blade was unaffected by the pull of the Field, the alien materials it was constructed from was different to those of Earth make, although the Droid was not Wraithbone and went with the pull, in fact it even hastened towards the Wisp pushing itself further into the field and towards the innermost ring, towards the edge of the Field CLosest ot the wisp...
Kain heard the prayer against him. And he responded to his own, the spirits which he no longer worked with, but still understood thier power. he doubted that it would work, but he had to try. He began to try and channel, thus was the ability of the Psi. But was Kain to far gone to be even be called a Psi, the peaceful and nature loving people of Velmora, the people who Kain had lead? Kain did not know but he called upon the spirits of nature to aid him.
"Spirits, aid me, the exiled child, to whose purpose is selfless in it's intent. Aid me now, for this works against ye! Grant me strength, as you did before I left your side! I am here once again, to aid you and your creations!" Kain chanted, his own verse counteracting the Inquitors chant. But he was not trying to aid himself, he sent what powers to counteract the prayer to Ravelyn.
Kain fell to his knees, but he continued to chant for Ravelyns sake. The Spirits of the earth responded. It aided Ravelyn, negating the effect of the chant.
Continuing to chant, offering his thanks, Kain prayed. Kain's skin glowed blue he was channeling. The soldiers aimed thier guns and fired.
"I thank you, continue to aid her, as you gave me power to do so---urgh!" Kain said, the gas filling his lungs burning. The effect of the chant ended, the short ten seconds that he had given Ravelyn, Kain praid would be enough as he slumped to the floor in pain.
(OOC Kain's chant could counter act the inquistors against Ravelyn, allowing her to use some of her celestrial powers. It will only last for about 10-12 seconds. What is the effect the gas upon Kain? I hope this is ok by you Whispering Voices)
OOC:
The Inquisitor's chant just nullified magic and non-divine powers. Rave can use her divine powers (although for reasons I said above I'd rather she didn't - simply cos we'd have to fight over who God favoured more then). But yea - chanting to aid Rave is fine, even though she's so close. The Inquisitor's under a lot of stress after all.
Um ... it's not gas. White phospherous ignites on contact with air - it's willy-pete.
Read this (http://www.weblakes.com/toxic/WHITE_PHOSPHORUS.HTML)
Please note the: burns on contact with air (setting things on fire), the ultraviolet radiation (similar to sunlight, if that would have an effect - I'm guessing not), and, amusingly, the garlic-like odour :p
Tor - the circuits of the droid would be fried from the EMP, if that matters? Also what properties does the sword have?

Rave turns to deflect the attack of the inquizitor. Because of the distraction, she is nailed in the arm. It was no matter. She wasn't out for blood...she was out to stay alive. She backed as far away as she could from him. She needed to replenish her energy. She would have to make the biggest gamble of her life. Use the last bit of energy she possessed to heal. If it was successful, she would be able to regain her momentum and go to full power...but if she was unsuccessful, she would have no strength to continue. "Meaniliste cresten semi deku relahardi," her voice was absorbed by everyone. The walls ceased to bleed. She continued. "Ronsine beala hastre tpersa!" The angelic language was a beautiful one, but all more in invokations. A white light surrounded her as the wounds healed faster, and her wings were restored. It would be her first and last restoration of this fight...for the remaining hidden energy was gone. She was left out of her blood rage, but building up to another.
Her eyes turned white for a moment, and she looked at Kain...Kain knew something about those eyes...there was a voice calling to him...the spirit of Ravelyn's sire...Daja...whom the angel herself had killed was with her. Her eyes resumed and she turned back toward the inquizitor.
She raised her scythe and took her stance. She was away from him now and put her hand out to beckon him forward. She would not stop...she would not fall unless did. And she as sure as hell not going to be put on trial from another nation when she had nothing to do with him. She was not leaving this room. She would destroy herself and leave no trace and relish in her death than rather be taken and defeated.
the phosperheous, te feeling of burning coming over him. He coughed as it filled his lungs. He looked up and saw Ravelyn healing, and her voice was wonderous. It granted hope. Ravelyn would win this....Kain was sure of that. The last he saw of her was her eyes loking at her, before a cloud of white fumes and greenish light consumed him burning more so.
Kain was healing after the burning, but it was slower than the healing process. Agonsing pain fell over Kain, his screams as he writhed around on the floor. But Cloak came over kain, and wrapped itself around Kain, protecting him from the damage. It appeared as though Kain was a cacoon, covered by a deep blue rock skin.
Kain was almost paralised by the pain, his healing was slow and painful. Recovering slowly, Kain waited in the darkness of the Cloak, waiting to be fully healed.
At first, James resistes the blood with the remains of this will... but it was useless. The warm blood filling his throat tasted metalic and sickly, he would of choked if it wasn't for Malices attention to detail, making the path easier.
His mind, shut off in darkness saw light beaming though... but it wasn't white as such, more of a combination of every other colour making it take the appearance of white. His eyes opened anew, the few lights in the room blinding him. He was still in agony, his leg was still shattered, a mess of blood, bone and sharpnel from the cabinate he was hiding behind.
His mind was blank... the pain distracting him from any cohearant thought. [Pain...angery...regret...sharp pain...pain...pain]. On the threshold of consciousness, James didn't react to any outside sensory input... he only stared forward, not even noticing his saviour.
His mind entered autopilot... he was reacting to something, but it wasn't in this room... or even on this planet. In a barely audiable voice he spoke solfly, no ergancy... more of a realisation
"Rave....... don't die......not here......." His eyes had not changed position, he didn't move at all with exceptance of his lips.
He continued to stay still, not moving... just staring at nothing.
OOC:
Just waiting for a response from Tor.

((The Droid itself is designed for Space Travel as well as ground travel so I'm assuming it can take the EMP, added to that the fact that Aeolsi offered to make it them for me the same as a Wraithlord I am assuming it can survive the EMP. This was a very expensive purchuse after all, I am assuming back ups, protection for the Circuits and something akin to the robotics of a Wraithlord which run more on Spirit energy and Nerve Endings than standard electronics, but remember I didn't invent or design the Droid I could be wrong. I mostly bought them because I liked the look, the idea of a Dragon Droid acting as a bodygaurd for the Farseers was too nice an image to pass up
As for the Witch Blade, made from Wraithbone core, in these circumstances I would class it as basically a Powersword, it's Magic Enhancing propeties being useless outside of internal powers. (The extra Cutting abilty) So able to penertrate most armours as through it where paper.))

James, you can heal yourself now *he wispered in the man's ear* Have no fear, I have not made you one of my childer, but I have given you a part of my power... You can heal fully if you try. You'll also be stronger and move faster now. We need to get out of here quickly... come on.. get up.

A closer look at James's leg, and you'll notice it is not bleeding, it is covered in blood, but there is no more blood coming out.
Otherwise, James is not re-acting to any outside influence... everything is happening on the inside. But his eyes are fully open, though they don't react to movement. He is breathing normally and his heartbeat is regular, if not paced up a little because of the new vitae.
The only two problems you can see with him are the lack of reaction and the wound which is not getting any worse... more examination of the wound (very close to the smell and sight of blood which is overwhelming) and it will look like it is very slowly closing up.
James is completely limp, and he looks like he is safe to carry... but otherwise his is not going to do anything.
Highly OOC - yet... I guess it is all down to other factors.

(eh...can you please hurt my arm then? lol. j/k lol...and the bloodstone is within her now, no longer visable to the eye...it's been that way for a while  )
For a little bit of OOC understanding, see this thread (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=75115&highlight=).
It is all OOC to peolpe here, except maybe Kain.. I'm assuming that Rave is really preoccupied that she doesn't know what shape James is in mentally and physically.
It's a interesting RP idea I am testing... a few hiccups, but some of my best describtions ever... it's really woo-some. Well... it is to me.
Note to Rave... James said something quietly before on the other page... just in case you missed it... however, I understand that he did say it very quietly... it may be too hard to hear in the din of battle.

She spotted James, badly wounded and seemingly unconscious.Something struck at her heart. She looked up to the inquizitor. "Leave...leave this battle be, do not continue...get out of here and never return to my sight again. Can't you see you've wounded innocents...you harmed the very souls of the people here, all because your a racest son of a bitch. End this now...or I will." *she said. The seraphim was dead serious. She could not take this child's play anymore. She needed to help James, and Kain, and the rest of the wounded. If the cost of doing so was the inquizitor's life...it was a reasonable price to pay to save the others. She drew her scythe up to his neck. He knew that in less that a second she could drive the blade through the weak areas in the armor and leave him to bleed to death. She was merciful. "Leave. Now. Or rest in pieces." *a glare returned to her eye. She was beginning to gain back her energy again*
The Inquisitor laughed as he dodged away from her scythe, serpent-like, his movements fluid enough as to be sickening. He moved his sword up, to block her follow-through attacks, watching for feints.
"If you were truly innocent in the eyes of God, Ravelyn, you would not fear the Judgement of the Ordo Sancti Mundi. If we fail, more will be sent. And more. You shall, you will, you must be brought to trial: the only question is how many people must die to see it so."
It was all a distraction, though. His suit's protein strand processors were reconfiguring, processing data and matching movement and optical signs. Rave's movements, from the rise and fall of her chest, the tension and torsion of her facial muscles and the play of air on her wings - all were analysed. The computer built models, ran scenarios, with almost infinite speed thanks to the parallel processing power of molecular DNA.
The Inquisitor smiled. He would not need to rely on his own reflexes - good although they were - to parry for much longer. The computer would do it for him, and he could think about going on the offensive.
"Let the heads of those who surround me be covered with the trouble their lips have caused," he sang out, stepping to the right and then the left, forcing Rave to move to follow him. "Let burning coals fall upon them; may they be thrown into the fire, into miry pits, never to rise. Let slanderers not be established in the land; may disaster hunt down men of violence." He made a flicking gesture with his arm, and strands and fibrous tendrils wavered out like insect legs, trailing loosely. "I am not a man of violence, Ravelyn, but as the Ordo decrees so shall you be brought in. All hurt done here was done upon those who resisted our rightful presence. Concede. Surrender. Face Judgement. For those who flee Judgement, are always found wanting."
Noticing Galdern move, the man on overwatch sprayed tranquiliser darts at the Eldar, his smartlinked gun moving to target weak chinks in the Farseer's armour. The floor, slick with burning white phospherous, was treacherous and he did not move towards the Eldar, but waited for the Farseer to slide as he moved towards him.
One of the other two gestured with his hand, and a small lasso of white webbing lashed into and covered Kain's cocoon. He drew it towards him, wrapping strand after strand around, layering the currently-incapacitated vampire with more and more of the strands. The second took the opportunity to hurl a tiny spike, dosed with vampiric incapacitant, into the recumbent form. Hopefully, putting Kain down for the count. He then returned to pressing numbers into the electronic device he had been tinkering with earlier, and he slid it along the floor. It 'beeped' once.
The special operative who had just stood up saw Malice, or part of him, behind the desk - and sent more vampiric-incapacitant hollowpoints into the direction of the vampire. The device 'beeped' twice.
The Wisp, the droid caught in its toroidal field, hurled the thing at point blank into part of the wall high up, seeking to open up its access to where one of the injured soldiers lies: it was hurled with enough force to cause both it, and the wall, to simply melt - well over ten thousand joules per centimetre squared.
The device 'beeped' thrice ... and a wave, a roiling black tide, swept out of it, spreading in all directions - towards Rave, over Kain. Towards Malice, and the Farseer, and the door which the Sandman had just exited from.
"And the Lord said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand over Egypt so that locusts will swarm over the land and devour everything growing in the fields, everything left by the hail." the Inquisitor chanted.
OOC:
Yea, I know the Bloodstone's been gone a while. I was saying that was the last time he attacked her, not attacking it again ... but alright. He gets a lucky cut on her arm ^_^
How exactly is Rave gaining her energy back - she's already had her "first and last restoration of this fight...for the remaining hidden energy was gone" ? Just curious, in case it's some form of beamed energy (ya, I know, not going to be the case but I do like to check these things) that I can record. I mean, ultimately, all the uber-elite-ninja Inquisitor is managing to do is parry - just - and all the attacks on her have come from other sources. But she doesn't seem to have slowed down, even.
Not sure why being outfitted for space travel makes something immune to EMP, Tor. But ok :p However it was a nice handy-sized wall-melter at least ^_^ As the droid got close to the Wisp it felt a gravimetric shield keeping it at bay, by the way - something useful that it could transmit to Galdern if it has some psychic communication facilities.
Edit1+3: grammar :( I will keep all my posts in the same tense! I will!
Edit2: vampire incapacitants knocking out Kain's life signs at all?
Kain felt thuds into the Cloak, then a slight constricting. Kain could not move if he wanted to, his body was too damaged, too burnt. It was healing far too slowly. He couldn't hear anything, it was all silent.
"Cloak, what is going on!" Kain forced out of his lips.
I do not quite know, but they seem to want to take us away. I am afraid I can do nothing, the chant prevents me.
"Damn!" Kain cursed, his body slowly restoring the charred flesh. The Brightblade did not like this situation at all. But it had to sit tight for the moment because Kain was his only way of getting free of the sword.

((To be honest nor do I, at the time I was thinking radiation and Solar events might be taken into account but now... hmm still I am going to asume some sort of Shielding or that these where Wraith Droid types, because that gives me some ground of knowledge in the matter. As for the man in over watch... hmm interesting. The first few shots are blocked by the Droid of course intil it reaches the Grav Field event.))
The tranquiliser darts flew towards Galdern and yet many seemed to imposssibly miss, those that did get through however found a different problem altogther. A Farseer's Biology, Already 15-20% Crystal maybe more, (I'll have to decide how much has spread due to this Fight. I keep a mental eye on such things as at a certain point too much Crystal finishes them as Character's) and having a very different Biology anyway to humans it was having trouble slowing him down, and putting him to sleep. His body was not the same as a Humans, or even an Elf's for that matter.
((Note the protection of the Farseers Armour is not really in itself, in itself it's little more than a fancy Flak Jacket. It's in how it alter fate subtly around it, making attacks fail simply because it finds the strand of fate where it did fail. Of course this dosn't always happen, sometimes there is no such strand, or it simply can't pull it forth. In this case through the Tranqs then have a very alien Biology to work with, one which isn't even fully biological.))

ooc: That is her restoration...gaining back her energy for another blood rage.
IC:
Ravelyn was gaining back her energy. She needed a final blow delivered to him, and quickly. She needed to get out of there or at least receive back up. Help me...come to me... Her mind reached out to someone. Would they come? Where they to far away? Not for her mind to reach. The seraphim stood strong. She would not be faltered. "I do not fear judgement from God...but from people, judgement is corrupt. Let he who has not sinned cast the first stone." she said with a smile. "And I will NEVER surrender...you may ask Kain, Genesis, anyone...and they know...I am the most stubborn being in the world. Surrendering is out of the question. Rave crossed her arms in front of her, as a sheild was form the black tide. A white light was produced around her...not by magic, but by her soul. Her soul which was strong and untainted by His love for her. "This is the last time I will tell you...stop this instantly...or I will kill you. Send men after this...I don't care...I will kill them as well...but I am not going to be taken anywhere...You have nerve angering me, and you are much darkened in your malice." *she said, her amber eyes gaining their luster. Please...help me...
***sometime earlier***
Having finally gotten through the web at the doorway, Sandman crawled up alongside Dana. He pulled a thin metallic item out of her backside, made to throw it away, stopped at the last moment, smiled, and stuck it in his shirt pocket instead. Then het got in front of her, grabbed her outstreached arms, and pulled.
***currently***
It had been a long trek, timewise, getting to the nearby broom closet [[OOC: Or suitable other non-descript location]]. Like most of her generation, Dana was short and light, but Sandman was still weak. He felt his heart pounding in his chest as he closed the door behind them.
Sitting and resting, Sandman took a look at his surroundings.
A mop...great...if they come in here I'll clean them to death.
Dustpan...for the vampires after the sun comes out.
A bag of...pot? Well, I won't get bored!
AHAH! A first aid kit!
Sandman stood up slowly, his still shaking, exerted body using the wall for support. He reached out, grabbed the bright orange plastic box, started to pull it off its shelf, and dropped it. It fell to the floor and broke open with a loud clatter. Damn!
But Sandman wasn't worried about the noise...the noise of the battle and of thunder cracking nearby would certainly drown it out. So he made his way back down the wall and searched through the mess.
There you are he thought as he picked up a small brown cylinder. Moving slowly now, he snapped it open and waved it in front of Dana's nose.

Something burned, it hurt, and Dana awoke in groggy pain.
*Falling to the floor slumped next to James, he passed out cold. At least he felt he'd done the right thing*
OOC: Yay... James to the rescue. Just before I post this I will explain some new abilities he has gained during his ghouling:
James now has Celerity 1 and Potence 2 and is subject to the "short fuse", though blood doesn't make him frenzy becuase he is not a vampire.
James normally has a human strength of 2, dexerity of 4 and stamina 3. Other stats are not important. The reason he has potence at 2 is becuase Malice is a brujah elder, which makes potence a big important ability.
IC: James's eyes started to move, looking around to see where he had ended up. It turned out on top of Malice the vampire, who looked dead... but then again, all vampires looked dead and he hoped that a bit of blood may revive his... his friend... James felt a odd contection to this man... like he was his father or something.
Either way, he wasn't about to leave him here for the hunters to burn. Carefully, using all his stealth training, James got up. His leg didn't ache anymore, but the wound still wasn't fully healed.
Slowly, James put his arms under Malice to pick him up... he started to lift him and the body shot up a couple inches. Whoa... I guess I don't know my own strengh. James went crouched, now slinging the body over his sholder so most of it covered the back... he may want to save this vampires body, but he reckoned it would take more then a couple bullets to kill him, so he used Malice as a shield. With a unnatural speed, James ran to the small door, keeping low... ducking the best he could when bullets shot out. He figured the men wouldn't keep an eye out of this area becuase everyone was down but Rave and the Farseer.
He reached the door, a small one person job designed to look like the wall. However, they still managed to cover it with their webbing. He could feel his blood pumping, faster and faster... then attempted to pull the webbing off with his hands... pulling harder and harder (strength 4 now with potence in effect).
He pulled and pulled, hoping to rip enough off the bottom to escape to the tradesmen enterance.
OOC: I don't know if this works, so tell me if it does, I should be able to bend steel at this strength... oh, and James has woken up due to the James's Dream thread along with Malices blood (which affected him profoundly in the dream).
Damn "invalid session"
The swarm of miniscule insects engulfed the comatose Kain, first; tiny mandibles grinding through webbing, burrowing into and under the cocoon. They were simple organisms, yet useful; capable of using the smallest of orifices to penetrate deep into a body, or of making their own way in. Hardy extremophiles, there was nowhere they could not reach. Tiny little pulses of neurons firing relayed information, body maps, and genetic data back along their lines to the outside men - wonderful spies. But most of all, they were disablers. They bonded with blood cells, riding the sanguine flow to the organs that it sustained - be it vampire, human, angel, or anything else mortal. And into the body of the fallen vampire they went ...
And onto the body of the Farseer. Innumerable, nipping, worrying at flesh and crystal alike, armour and skin and perforations in the body. Relaying, and burrowing. Burrowing and relaying, mindless yet with the directed malevolence of any parasitic swarm.
James managed to drag Malice away just as the swarm trickled over the desk they had been behind, the limp vampire's body over his back. However, the webs couldn't be simply ripped - they were rubbery, gluey. Flexible and viscous and adhesive enough to rip skin, ripping wasn't really an option. Crawling under could be done - but that would necessitate the loss of Malice. Besides which, the soldier who had been covering Malice had flicked the switch on his own gun, sending several more globs of webbing at Malice - he fired far faster than James crawled with the vampire, after all. The minion from Eris Kallisti began to be bound to the floor with more of the strands.
The Yvresse seer, standing comfortably after the hail of tranquiliser darts, was then targetted with several things that did not rely on individual, precise hits. Firstly, one agent fired a glob of the white web at him, and then switched to depleted uranium rounds. The second simply flamed him, using the sticky burning white phospherous that had been so effective on Kain. Even if his armour was flame-retardent, the noxious fumes and eventual melting of said armour should prove at least a minor inconvenience.
Rave, however, was still not down. Her shield of faith didn't really bother or disturb the swarm: they simply ignored it - and her inside it - swarming around, covering the rest of the room, save their masters.
"Your stubbornness is an unfortunate facet of pride, Ravelyn. Humility is holy: do not forget this. Your powers cannot go on forever, Ravelyn Shentavo. Your threats have proved thus far ineffective at hurting me. God's will may not be gainsaid." He span his crackling sword around, attacking twice, lightning quick ... the face, to make her flinch; the leg, before the clumsy scythe could move to intercept; and a jab to the arm, as the scythe would still be moving to protect the leg. Although impressive, scythes were ultimately inefficient for defence.
He laughed, and sang some more: "I have pursued mine enemies, and destroyed them; and turned not again until I had consumed them. And I have consumed them, and wounded them, that they could not arise: yea, they are fallen under my feet. For thou hast girded me with strength to battle: them that rose up against me hast thou subdued under me. Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies, that I might destroy them that hate me. They looked, but there was none to save them; even unto the LORD, but he answered them not."
The power of the Divine likewise flowed through him, the power of the God of justice and vengeance, mercy and destruction, battering at Rave's shields even as he lashed at her with his own sword. But he did not call on intermediaries, or make threats, or speak of his own prowess. He simply trusted in the Lord his God to aid him, as he quoted His Holy Book.
Crackling bolts of lightning resultant from the electromagnetic field of the Wisp crackled up from the ground, whorling and racing across its field. And the man of God raised his weapon unto the Heavens, and the wrath of the Lord did enter it, blue light infusing the blade with Divine might as he held it aloft and conducted the power of storms both physical and spiritual. And yea, was the air turned to ash as he smote the vampiric taint, his sword infusing the room with a Divine fire as he sought to cast her down.
OOC:
Since Malice and Kain are both "down" and unable to dodge as such, I just called the hits on them (although still not the effects). Apologies and I'll edit if they display immunity to glue and microbes respectively.
Oh, the glue is just ... glue. Sticky, very sticky, and hard to rip apart. It'd be like trying to break a bungee rope by pulling on one end.
Still no takers on the "people with knowledge about guns who aren't fighting" question?
As for the celestial power - since you used it, I used it back more or less to try and break Rave's shield. Note particularly the line "They looked, but there was none to save them; even unto the LORD, but he answered them not." I feel that is a particularly apt quotation for the situation.
OOC: Aw crap... I should of tried punching though the wall beside it, but I don't think I'm in a good enough condition to get away with that, I'd end up with a pretty nasty wound.
IC
With Malice glued to the floor, James had to leave him. After testing the webbing out, James decised to simply kick the door open in a small uncovered area, then make his way underneigth the webbing.
The cries of battle still behind him, James ran towards the exit at the back of the conference hall. Covered in blood and sweat, he simply kicked his way through locked doors until he found the last one... the escape route.
*CRUNCH* James kicked through his last door, only to meet a load of wide-eyed men in black carapace armour (think Dues Ex commandoes^). They were staring at him... his clothes were covered, hands and part of his face were covered with blood, mostly his own. His leg still with a big hole in it.
"Medic! Get over here, the Lord General is injured" The closest one shouted. A smaller man behind him looked up. There were twelve of them, though only eight of them wore the full carapace armour, the rest wore lighter version becuase they specialised in less combat orinetated skills. Behind them all was a Hippogrith support craft, which was parked in the carpark area.
"That will be quite unnessicary Sergeant, I am ok for now. What is the current situation with re-enforcements?" James answered.
"Sir, the front of the building still has that odd hovercraft, as of yet we have not been able to find a way to damage it, it keeps firing our rounds back and is pinning a squad in the buildings"
"What is their status? Anyone injured?"
"No sir, they are just a little edgy about it sir. A young Viper called Justice pointed out to us that it is using some kind of powerfull magnetic field, well advance to our own devices"
"Yes, I know that much. We've been fighting it ourselves. Get that young lad to formulate a plan, or get his Sergeant to use his knowledge. Meanwhile I want you lot to make some enterances to the conference room, all the doors are blocked with some kind of super strong webbing. I take it you have breaching equipment?"
"Yes sir, we have the normal Pulse Gun, plus some none electronic explodives... if we had gotten any closer to that Hover Craft our system would of fried on the Hippogrith, Justice told us to get some C4, but we realised that C4 needs electronics. So now we just have small amounts of ignitable explodives instead, and just incase, magnesium strips."
"Good, how long until reinforcements arrive?"
"They say another four minutes sir, we pulled the Light Hover Tanks out becuase of the Gauss Weaponary... we are sending a small force to surround the area, anything which seems suitable really. We also have a satallite entering orbit in two minutes, we'll use it to track their movements."
"Send a spy plane as well, but make sure it is a good distance away from their Hover Craft, tell them to look for magnetic fields so that when they try to escape we can keep an eye on them"
"Very well sir"
"No, your orders are to collect all injured personnel in there, maybe even force them to pull back. Nothing too brave mind, they took down six of our men in there."
"Yes sir! You heard that men... move out!"
All twelve of them looked lively, double checking their munitions and then they moved into the building, advancing slowly, securing rooms as they went along.
OOC: About time I brought some more men in.
^ Maybe I'll find a pic later
OOC: Securing rooms? Eventually they will probably step in on Sandman, leaning over a groggy Dana in a janitor's room and trying to get her brain moving again...probably by having her sip a glass of water.

(It's the angel of death's scythe...not clumsy at all....)
Ravelyn suprisingly did not defend as the slices were made. She didn't flinch. She watched as the wounds healed over. Her sycthe vanished within her hands as she flipped backwards. She reached to the sky, and a white light formed small orbs which formed a sword. It was the Shentavo sword of light. If she could not fight light with darkness, she would fight light with a brighter one. Given to her as a gift from Him as she was sent to restore balance to the world, it would not let another harm His seraphim. The angelic language was carved into the blade of the sword, which was as bright and as hard as diamonds. The hilt fit perfectly in her hand as the blade glowed white. Her presence was uplifted as she sent out a jolt of aknowledgement and encouragement.
Rise...will you give up all you have? You are a Shentavo...regardless of name you are mine own kin...rise...hear my voice and rise. Take heed to my words of warning passed on so long ago. It is both a gift and a curse. I had no time to train you...I do not know where the paths have taken you...feel it building up inside of you...you have the strength. Here my voice and follow my light set before to guide you. Rise in a blood rage. But I do not want you to fight. I want you to run. As big as your ego and sense of purpose might be...I want you to run. Get out of here...make sure James is alright...I don't want to see anything happen to him. Run...like there is no tommorow. And know that no matter what you do, you always have an angel watching over you. I give you this, my words to summon what energy you have left to summon a blood rage. Run...go...now...you can't fight, you won't have the strength to...you must leave me...and leave me for dead. And tell Vaughn.. she repeated. I love him...so much...and that, when I said I would be with him for an eternity, I meant it....I love him...and it is love that will keep me safe...try...please...try... *her words of encouragement and commands soared through his consciouness.
She glared at the inquizitor...her eyes completely red now and entering a final stage. "You will not bring me down...I will fight...and I will not surrender. You're so called "goodness" is not that at all, but that of tainted thoughts. Go to hell where you belong!" *she said as she raise the sword of light. IT was glowing in purity. In a rage she slashed at the inquizitor with movements faster than the speed of light. She drove the sword to his stomach, brought it upwards to the face then to the chest, with enough force to drive through the armor. The power of God was with her as it had always been. She was there for a reason...and needed to be alive for a soul purpose....to save mankind's existance.
OOC: Securing rooms? Eventually they will probably step in on Sandman, leaning over a groggy Dana in a janitor's room and trying to get her brain moving again...probably by having her sip a glass of water.
OOC: Eventually, but it will take a while, I'm going to let a few things happen first. The epic battle has only been going on for two minutes (I have decided to say two minutes becuase it fits my RP... and it's my thread :P )
Depends on what I feel like doing... I have a couple of ideas my guys were going to try out but I decided against it. One of which was:
Drive a car towards the Wisp and jump out.
Save the Humans and Eldar then blow up the building.
These are ideas I have people shouting at me to do, but I won't do them.
Whispering Voices and Rave: You two might want to TM each other to work this fight out, becuase I can see that neither of you are going to give in. I don't mind this going on for another hundred posts, but we are seeing a pattern.
I'm not having a go at anyone in specific, just want to point it out. Now I'm going to make exits so I can clear some of this up, but it is going to take a while.

Kain could not let her die...not again...but he knew that she soke sense. He had betrayed her once...betrayed the family name once...he would not do so again.
I shall do so, but I need one last favor. I need to kill mortals this day, there is a curse upon me. Can you remove it for a short time so that I may escape? I thank you for your eternal kindness, your truely are blessed by God. Just...don't die. You are not going to die here Rave! Kain said to ravelyn, desperate.
It is time we got out of here Cloak.
Very well Kain. I shall return when I have enough strength to.
You have my thanks Cloak
Both knew what the plan was. The Cloak began to rumble and vibrate, blue elctricity flowing through it. Then, with a flash of blue light the Cloak exploded outwards, a small explosion which drove the little things away, allowing Kain to escape. The explosion was a small one, and forced the Cloak to abandon it's phyisical form and retreat to the other realms to recover.
Kain burst forward into the air, Brightblade in hand, his eyes red, glowing, the Birghtblade pointed up in the air, the sword aflame with demonic fire, the skull hilt was alive, it roared with Kain. kai gave one last look towards Ravelyn and gave a slient prayer. Kain fell to the ground and charged into the enemy, hoping that Ravelyn could do something to make the curse stop for this one day.

(OOC You cannot join this now....to late)
"Oh, for the love of ... " one of the specops said as he saw yet another opponent arise from yet another devastating attack, again, the supposedly slow healing process over in seconds. The two dealing with Kain reorientated, fell back slightly towards the Inquisitor, luring him closer ... and, charging in, he came. His sword entered the divine field that blocked all magics save that of God, maintained constantly by the Inquisitor.
Seconds later, the two troops opened up on full autofire, using underslung blasts from their assault rifles, alternating fire and webbing, to make the point. The cloak was gone, now; Kain was in a field where nothing unkissed by the Heavens could survive, where all paranormal things belonged to God. The bullets filled with vampiric incapacitant, the horrifically viscous webbing, and the burning phospherous, however, being of the mortal plane and all - weren't.
The body of Malice - the organisms having consumed the webbing holding it to the floor - continued to be dragged towards the Wisp.
The other two were getting equally annoyed by the complete inability of people to stay dead reacted slightly differently. One of them pulled out a slim, long device with a bulbous end, and pointed it square at Ravelyn's back - and a shriek of subsonics screamed out, at a frequency low enough to be unhearable to human ears - although agonising and deafening to supernatural ones; the frequency at which internal organs ruptured.
The second merely began altering switches on his gun. Whatever he was doing, it seemed rather clumsy compared to the other simple setting-toggles that the guns had displayed.
The Lord Inquisitor was pressed back as he sought to parry the next weapon in the seemingly-inexhaustible Shentavo mystical armoury, guidance from his armour - mercifully for him, that had now analysed his foe's attack patterns, since he'd been defending almost constantly against the same woman - his blue-wreathed blade shot sparks as he turned aside the blade from his stomach, ducking underneath it as it went to his face, and then gliding aside as she thrust forward ... thrust forward, leaving herself overextended. His hitherto-ignored hand, with its fibrous lashes, whipped out, grasping at her arm, seeking to immobilise it with blessed filigrees, golden wire strands of a sanctified tapestry.
He did not have the time to banter though, or match threat with contempt. He continued his litany, showing once more that he acted as the will of God. "But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood. Whoever sheds man's blood, By man his blood shall be shed; For in the image of God He made man. No-one is above the laws of God, fallen one. Only do not rebel against the LORD. Their protection is gone, but the LORD is with us. And do not be afraid of the people of the land, because we will swallow them up. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. The avenger of blood himself shall put the murderer to death. You drink of the blood of man created in God's image, vampire. And I will avenge the blood you have supped upon."
OOC:
Biblical passages in order:
Genesis 9:4
Genesis 9:6
Numbers 14:9
Romans 6:23
OK. Going through things one at a time ...
Kain: I've been generous so far, and assumed Kain stayed outside the previously-defined no-magic-that-isn't-divine area of the Inquisitor, but that last attack seemed pretty intent on getting him into the thick of things. Since that sword is powered by evil demonic spirits, well - heh. He's being shot with hundreds of bullets (with his cloak gone), set on fire, etc. Not to mention the fact it's well within the radius of the toroidal shield. Again.
Tor Yvresse: waiting on results of the insects.
Malice: yay! someone who was willing to keel over ^_^
Rave: trying to bring down the infinite healing/protection stuff. Again, by using actual quotes from the actual Bible.
(OOC Apologies! Alright...I was being unfair then. But Kain should be able to get out....I see your point. I will modify it then. Kain has gotten out, but he is still weak. He is falling back, but still being defensive fighting backwards. I would have stayed in if it was not for Rave. Kain will be retreating and essentally leaving the battle. You have gotten some of his infomation right? So you could track him etc. Possibly I do not know. But in regards to the demon sword, your right. Sorry again. It will be less and less powerful as it gets closer. So can we disregard that attack you made on Kain, as he is falling back, it is just regular fighting. Try and not do that kind of thing again...lol)

OCC: Sorry that this is late, by this time he has snuck almost to one of the doors, it's your discretion (whispering voices) wether or not he warants getting shot at
Mikael had just been trying to keep his head down since his gun had been ripped from his fingers. Then, crawling over the top of the desk, he saw a swarm of little black critters. He started to run to the nearest exit, staying low. he gets to one of the doors and starts crawling under the webing. As he stands up he notices some of the "bugs" on his robe and sheds the outer layer. He runs until he thinks he is safely away from the main confrence hall.

Well the intent is just to knock him out with Vampiric incapacitants. Odd though this may sound, I don't OOCly want to destroy the character. Just ICly want to put him on trial.
But yes, running away is possible - though going to be a bitch with all the webbing on the door and the bullets and stuff :P
So can we disregard that attack you made on Kain, as he is falling back, it is just regular fighting. Try and not do that kind of thing again...lol)
There aren't that many exits to escape... most of the escape routes are next to the wisp. There are still three doors however, all covered with webbing that is pretty nasty stuff. Though maybe a slashing weapon will do something to it (unless more flangey science stops it).
All of the doors are covered, though a determined individual could get through by squeezing under the bottom (like me and Sandman).
I was willing to go down... I would of stayed down had I not been given some of Malice's blood... which is really messing me up. I resisted it the best I could... though my willpower was pretty low at that point.
The way I see it, both Rave and WV are getting closer to the illusive "god" title. I don't see the inquisitor taking any injuries and Rave can pretty much ignore most of hers from devine grace and so on.
WV, you may be better with real science theory then me (me being 19) but some of your tech is pretty hard to comprehend. You would destroy the building before you un-bond iron from blood. The rail rounds are acceptable, but the forces that wisp is ment to have should be destroying the building and killing everyone inside. I wasn't aware that humans were magnetic... I won't be standing under any electromagnets any more.
You suits are ok and you have great RP on your shield of faith, I think you are a great roleplayer, but you are powergaming here.
Rave, you are also a great roleplayer, but you are ignoring the fact that his nation also has the right to beleive that god is with them... I don't feel it is up to up to ignore their faith... which is what you are both fighting with. Like WV said, they probably cancel out becuase to say otherwise would be baised to the other roleplayer, unless one admits that the god isn't really on their side.
The first transformation was ok and made for great roleplay, most of the other stuff is ok and I thought you were finally going to fall when you were on the floor... but then you got up more powerful then ever.
Maybe if you both didn't try to out powergame each other the fight wouldn't be lethal to all other players (I'm looking at you WV, that field should be killing anyone who can't take a building on the head. But at least the you both would have more room to fight with and Kain could escape.
Kain... you said your guy went down after the white phospherous, which is like napalm but worst. I'm ok with you healing... over time, my wound still exists and my guy wouldn't have a leg without the help of malice.
Malice... you did good. Have a gold star.
Sandman... did great, like the closet, and you were right about our magnetics problem. Gold star and balloon.
Menoth... I would of prefered you got shot a little after WV declared that he was going to fire DU rounds at anyone firing a gun. Which is really careless but ok RP. No balloon.
Iuthia... well, I'll let you guys (and girls) rip me open for this, I should of done it TM but it wouldn't have the same effect.
Finally... how could a strong magnetic field make a non-magnetic object enter its orbit. I'm pretty sure that wraith bone isn't magnetic. Though it's insides may be... but I still need to know if you can do non-magnetic objects.
Sorry about the OOC gore fest... but I feel it needed to be said, sorry if I offend you... and even more sorry for the arguements I'm going to get off it.
(OOC No problem, I know where I have gone wrong in this thread, but Kain is still trying to get away. He does not really know about the exits. He is just going to stay around. Make no mistake, Kain is still hurt. Thanks for the imput, trying not to be indestructable now..... )

OOC:
Just to quickly address:
I checked that the building was made of concrete. The field isn't going to affect that - although note that I did mention ferrous parts of it (wiring, and so on). The point about the building being pulled apart would stand only if the building had hundreds of tiny, light ferrous girders throughout it.
Which isn't a particularly likely construction plan (feel free to say I'm wrong about that, however).
Horrifying though this is, I have actually discussed the theory behind the toroidal shield with some physics PhDs, and it's workable - as long as you have some insane source of power production that does not exist in real life (aka. fusion, in this case). Human's aren't electromagnetic (well, technically the brain is - but not in a meaningful way). Hence why during MRI scans of livers, the people are injected with ferrous material to highlight trouble spots more clearly (ferumoxides). And drawing the iron out of someone is an unintentional side effect of the magnet: it would bring the blood with it - or, to be more accurate, cause sever disruption in transferrins and other iron-reliant bodily functions. It only takes a minute amount of energy to bond iron into assorted things (e.g. haemoglobin, such as when you breathe). And standing in a big electromagnet would a) be immensely hot, and b) ya. It'd pull the iron out of configuration. And, ultimately, no-one apart from one of my injured men took any effect from that aspect of the shield at all, so all I've done by making that part real is cripply myself.
As for the wraithbone - Tor's sword was immune. He said the droid was affected by the field himself (presumably conductive circuitry inside, shielded so it wouldn't just melt from the EMP) hence why that was in it. I honestly don't know if wraithbone is ferrous or not, having no possible means of telling.
That being said, I admit the Inquisitor hasn't been hurt. Mainly because all I've done with him, really, is go on the defensive. I would perhaps have been more willing to let him get hit if there was any sign he'd actually achieved anything with what he'd done; as it was any attacks seemingly bear little effect and so I just made him concentrate on defense - especially given that pretty much one hit from anything and he dies, and then a grand 'nothing' has been achieved. Although, you should have noticed that the more 'detailed' the attack, the closer it is to hitting him. Nevertheless, the 'shield of faith' is exactly that. And I'm starting to run out of relevant passages of the Bible. Heh.

Rave was weak and faltering. Her last of energy was used in her restoration. SHe wouldn't be able to go on much longer, and she could not be taken. She rushed toward Kain, lifting him in her arms effortlessly, as if he was a feather. She looked at him for a moment. "I told you to run..and to leave me here...and I plan to have all my commands followed." *she smiled and leapt up into the air, bringing Kain from the ceiling. The ancient glared at the inquizitor. "This isn't over..." She tore away at the upper part of the wall, and with a final burst of energy, broke through, pushing Kain up to the top. "Go...tell my kin what happened. You must ask Qui to teach all twelve of you, as my diciples, the lessons I had in store for you...everything. And Kain...tell Vaughn that I love him." she smiled, choking back the tears. She looked Kain in the face, and fell from the sky. She landed on her back, wings spread out fully. She stirred slightly.
*she spoke to someone other than Kain....* Why haven't you come to me my son...Have you not heard my cries of help? Have you forsaken everything I have given you...then I leave my burden on your shoulders...the fate of the world lies in your hands...all the seraphim have failed...even Azrael. There are none to protect the heavens...and none to protect the earth. Soon, the warnings will begin...then chaos will erupt...and it can only lead to distruction...and that I cannot permit...I can't fight any longer. He seems invincible...they all do...with technology even I can't comprehend...Tell them I went down fighting...and you know what I am to say next.. *tears came to her eyes at the thought of her fiance* Qui...I've failed all of you. I've failed my Lord...I've failed my destiny. There is a first time for everything...right? It's not my time to go...and something seems amiss...It wasn't supposed to end here...and now...Why have you not heard the call of your sire? your mother?...
Who ever said I have not heard you...and who ever said I wasn't close...
Qui? *with that she passed out. She could not go on. She was worn and tired. Her mind throbbed, and she began to slip away. But someone was approaching...someone that Kain knew to well, and Joshua knew even better( Kain... u know  )

Last OOC post regarding this subject. But my point (which was lost half way by my ramble mode) was that you would sooner rip the building apart then you would pull iron out of blood. If the building is still standing, you will probably rip all of the streetlights out and pretty much every magnetic object in the street... hell... there is probably some steel girder being ripped out by the forces involved. I just felt that you had enough going for you (forgeting the epic one on one battle).
I just feel that there is only so much technology you should be claiming, pretty much in the same way that there is only so much power that Rave can draw upon.
Edit: Whoa Rave... maybe I shouldn't mention that this is a multi story building.

OOC:
Hehe I noticed the point. I just disagree. Concrete is non-ferrous and by definition unaffected, iron is ferrous and - in the body - requires very little energy to affect. Besides, anything with a mass greater than the Wisp (structural girders) would rather cause the Wisp to shoot along it's own toroidal arc. That effect currently being held in abeyance by the gravimetrics. I did actually put similar effects to the streetlights shorting, etc etc, in earlier. And, as I said, even if the concrete were somehow ferrous, given I'm the only one who acknowledged that effect anyway it scarcely seems to matter. My technology is both strictly defined in prior threads, and very finite - and the use of EM technology in the Wisp some ways (such as miniaturisation) far more possible than in handheld things like gauss guns - it's just a different way of using the concept.
Anyway, just waiting for Tor now, and I'll promise no more OOC posts too.

((OOC Sorry for the delay, moved back to Uni and now onl have the Net when I go into Town, so my posting will lessen for a bit, till we get the Net at my Flat anyway the Insect things, hmm he's definatly feeling sleepy, hmm let me think. Okay yeah the reports you get back first from it. The Farseer's Genetic Structure is a flux altering it seems. The End pattern can be determined to be related to the Crystaline growth. It appears to be linked in some manner to the use of his Power, the more he uses it, and th more he pushes himself, the more it appears to grow. Right now with the Witch Blade in hand it has slowed down, one would assume that the witch Blade is boosting his Powers and that previously without it at hand he was channeling based on his own Raw abilty and so it took a greater price from him.
Now that the Insects are Buzzing into him they might also sense that to deal with this threat he is channeling more energy, and that if this continues he will go over the safty barrier granted by the Blade and continue to expand the Crytsal Growth at the previosu rate. In theory this could be a way to kill him, but the fight would have to continue for several hours before it took him out of action, and while they where attempting this his body would in fact toughen up, as it became a harder substance.
The Two attacks you've launched, the sticky glue hits and slows him down, the Witch Blade is used to clear it off him but it slows him down while he does so. As for the Phosperus for that I am flicking a coin. The Beuty of Rune armour is that no matter what is thrown at it, the Farseer has a Fifty Fifty chance of saving. up into now I've made Judgement calls for the Phosperus I think it's a little more important.))
IC The Phosperus Burnt and Galdern Winced as it ripped into him, Cutting vast tracts across his Flesh, burning and ripping into him. He fell back into himself, into the teachings of his path, to over ride the pains messages to his mind. It was not important to him, that was all he thought, that and the fact that they had stolen the Genetic Code of Yvressians, of Eldar. This was something he would not allow.
The Droid flew closer to the Wisp pushing itself to the inner Boundry unable to reach the Wisp itself it's plan was different as it leveled the Rifle it carried at the Wisp and move further in, it's aim being simply to fire the Rifle at the outer edge of the Field, and therefore directly at the wisp, hopefully the round would exit the field.
((Basically It's trying to get the weapons round to exit the gun as it is positioned so the exit point is on the edge of the field meaning the round will come out of the gun outside the field and aimed directly at the wisp.))
"Clear!!"
The men were moving in groups of three, clearing the first fall of the building as quickly as possible, there were quite a few room near the conference hall itself, but they wanted to make sure that there was no more hostiles they didn't know about.
"Clear!!"
Jones, leader of the second three man squad double checked the office. so far it had been pretty quiet... aside from the conference hall which had a loud humming followed by sparadic fire. They moved on to the next room, a closet. Jones didn't expect the hostiles to be hiding in here, so he didn't think when he shouted...
"Clea-" Jones looked down to find a old man with a first aid kit and a ill looking young woman. Lucky bastard got to play doctor. One of the men thought to himself. Jones twisted his arm (covered with an extended carapace shell to protect again enemy fire when engaging) and pulled out a cigerette before calling the Sarge on the comms.
"Sir, we have some conference members here and we're taking back to the Hippogrith for evacuation. Over."
"Sure thing Jones, but get back quick, we need you to serach your area and we are half way through ours"
"Yes Sir." He turned to the doctor and the woman alike and offered them a cigerette. "Tough night huh? Don't worry, we'll get you out of here and back to your nation in no time. It's all over now."
With this he helped them up to escort them to the back of the building.
OOC:
Sorry, I didn't realise that magnetic fields don't actually keep close to the same strengh over a large range... It has just occured to me that most of the building will be ok, but I wasn't talking about the concrete in either case, I was talking about metal. The building, described as reinforced at the start (next time I'll also point out it's not got windows in the hall but now it has which is fine... makes it fun). Eitherway, I thought with all the metal that helps support the building should be ripped out.
But the strong part of the field is pretty small and once you get past a certain range (10 metres maybe) it becomes less epic and doesn't rip my walls open.
I'll TM from now on. But I had to be fair if I'm going to have a go at others. IMO it does feel like powergaming as a reaction to powergaming.
Kain was pushed out of this floors faster than he could know about it by Ravelyn. The feeling was extremely disorientating, the speed of it was immense. Kain was dropped off at the roof (OOC I assume this is the case, if not I will fix it), his flesh still burnt somewhat, great parts of his flesh black. But those where slowly healing.

Kain could not deal with the fact that she might die again, but he held it within him, he knew it had to be like this, the risks where for the ulitmate gain.
Kain nodded, and choked back his own tears, he looked at her one last time, her radiant face even now....as she went back down. Turning on the spot, Kain looked to the sky....and started to get off the roof and away.

Ravelyn's body lay motionless, but her mind was aware. She tried to conserve what energy she had. If only she could hold out for a small while longer. However, she could not get him. Hurry...
You think I'm not?...and thanks for the open enterance..
Anytime... *With that she lost communication with the other, and went unconscious. Some of her feathers had fallen to the ground, and her wounds were healing. Even if they did...she did not have enough strength to fight anylonger.*
Ravelyn? *he asked* Ravelyn? *he cursed silently and looked at the building. He looked at the opening that had been made for Kain only a short time ago. He broke into a run, concealing himself in the shadows. In an effortless levitation, he was brought up to the wall and peered in. He saw Rave on the ground, totally incapable of dragging on. He saw the inquizitor, he saw the others. My angel... he thought to himself. He couldn't take his eyes off of her. How could she have fallen? She had never lost, never faltered. He then sensed the EM field...her sourcery had been cancelled out...he did not use sourcery...but he was a manipulator and taught the advanced subject at the academy.
He leapt down from the high wall and straighted up strong. He resemblence to Rave was unmistakable. He had short black hair, and crimson eyes. His skin was pale, but his build was strong. Brass knuckeles were concealed under black cut off gloves. He was ready to fight. Rage soared with in him as he saw what they had done to his mother, his sire, his angel. He slowely walked to her, ignoring various shots that were fired. The bullets he took, and only staggered slightly when hit. His drive was the seraphim. He picked up her body, as it hung in his arms, motionless, and dying. He looked to the inquizitor. "How could you have done this?" He didn't seem like he was going to attack or defend. He just looked as if he wanted to talk.
(Kain...you know how Qui's "negotiations" work out... )
Kain gave a thin smile as he knew the inquistors fate...the Gods did have a cruel streak to them....good. Qui would win this....it was certain, it had to be so. Qui did not use magic to a great extent like Ravelyn.
(OOC Yep, I sure do. This should be interesting....)
Lord Inquisitor Edwards felt both shock and relief as the vampiric angel slumped to the ground. The team wasted no time, as the last foe standing - the Farseer of the Eldar - began to scrape the viscous goo from his armour as the flames licked around him; ignoring them for the moment.
Malice was grabbed by the closest special operative from where the insects had brought her - right next to the Wisp. The Inquisitor himself bet his proud knee to the ground, and picked up the unconscious and battered form of Ravelyn Shentavo. Her torn wings drooped over his arms as the Wisp moved closer, its entry-door opening to allow passage in.
To ensure that the Farseer did not interfere, as they backed up rapidly - dragging their fallen comrades - one took a couple of pot shots at his head with the gluey stuff, enough to hopedfully blind and distract the Farseer.
The special operatives moved into the ship, and the Inquisitor stood framed in the doorway, Rave's body in his arms, as it began to shut.
"For true and righteous are His judgments, because He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication; and He has avenged on her the blood of His servants shed by her."
And then, the Tor Yvressi drone pushed its way through the magnetic field ...
OOC:
Hey, hold on a second :p I've missed out because I was politely waiting for Tor Yvresse to have a chance to post.
Also, I want to ask how Qui got there - Iuthia told me his country couldn't be teleported into/out of: I'd like to clear up that for future reference now. I'm going to take the action between Qui's arrival (what happened after my last post, since I didn't do an action IC because of waiting for Tor) and then just have Qui turn up at the end of this action, if that's alright. Simply because the Inquisitor really would have done something during the time in which it took Qui to levitate up, look around, levitate down, and pick up Ravelyn. Also, the call on teleporting into/out of Iuthia is a very important one for both sides. I'm assuming Qui wasn't already in Iuthia, since it mentioned his approach as if he was very very far away.
By definition, me doing things before Qui got there made some of the stuff Qui did invalid ... er ... damn. But really, grr, my turn! *petulant look and a pout*
So - consider my IC post what will happen if we decide that I got a turn between Rave's last two turns. Discuss in telegrams or IRC or MSN or AIM or something maybe? Hmm.
Further OOC notes:
1) the gravimetric shield is still between the drone and the Wisp, but it's safely inside the magnetic one. I'm curious, what does it fire to not involve circuitry ?
2) if this doesn't have to be edited, the Inquisitor is still visible from inside the room (although more or less within the Wisp) but not outside the room (due to the entryway being ... facing into the room).
3) Iuthia, the Wisp is looking for a big pile 'o high mass ferrous material (anything like the Eiffel Tower or a communications post nearby?)
OOC: I can't post IC yet becuase of the time my soldiers are taking, while it is only 30 seconds, each load of posts is like 10 seconds or less. So I'll be there maybe after Raves next post.
While MT is impossible to use against Iuthia, magic doesn't always use the same method as science might use. So it is likely that it is possible providing the magic doesn't convert the person in the same method as a star gate would. I don't know the science so I can be specific, but for the thread where I started looking into anti-MT technology see; Underloz Gateway Screw Up (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=50006&highlight=). I treated them with contemp becuase we don't like the idea that a army can just teleport into our city... so now we scramble the tranmission part of Matter Transmission.
However, I will rule that Qui is too late to stop the inquisitor from getting away, objections to be taken up with me via TM. We know for a fact that he is capturing them, not killing them. You will have a much better chance to escape then when your powers are back to strength.
Also, I will be using everything at my disposal to stop the Wisp and more importantly, track the Wisp.
Again, objections can be taken up in TM or if you really must, work it out here. Personally, I would of prefer not to say I'm going to "rule" anything, but it's got to the point where I have to, didn't you two get anywhere in TM?
Finally, yes, you can probably find some kind of communication array to rip out...

 Our Dark Father is Caine. Kane is fictional. Vampire literature is a fast, a Masquerade if you will. Have you heard the phrase “plausible deniability”, we of the Clan of the Moon, practically invented the phrase.

(he didn't just show up out of no where...She's been calling him a long while back, i made sure that I could set it up correctly so that there would be a number of posts between the call and the arrival. WV check your tg's...i can't have Rave taken..I need her for a future rp...so, the chase begins)
Qui looked up angrily as he saw the inquizitor with Rave. No way in hell she would have given in...but she hadn't been at full energy to begin with. He should have stopped her from going. His fists clenched tightly. He roared at the title he claimed her. "HARLOT! FORNICATION! Ravelyn Shentavo is a great many of things, but is neither a Harlot, nor has ever commited an act of fornication. She is engaged to a man far more better than the likes of you!" His eyes flickered deeply. Qui rushed toward him, but the inquizitor was too fast. The doors began to shut. He motioned toward Rave's sword that had fallen and it flew into his hand. He had a powerful mind, for many knew him as the mind breaker, but most knew him for his physical aspect. He stabbed the sword between the doors as they closed, trying to pry the doors open. "You will not take her!" He yelled...and he was dead serious.
OOC:
Checked, and responded to telegrams. Is Qui's power of divine origin too?
What's the sword made out of?
Would also suggest - if possible - discussion is continued in telegrams or AIM (I'm PipHavisham1), MSN (darkeningskies_net@hotmail.com) or on the Nationstates IRC channel.
And er ... Qui may have been called several posts back, but each post has been a few seconds. Fights are pretty brief and bloody.
OOC: Which reminds me...
IC:
Decker came up to the small door designed for Jan's use in a conference, he and his two specialist team mates gave it a quick look and figured it would be easiest to breach if they closed the door (so it's back to back with the webbing) then planted explodsives so they blow up in one direction, straight through the webbing.
Drilling a small hole in the wall and then they placed the charge inside, a small charge with no shrapnel of it's own so it would minimise any damage as a result of the blast.
Another team of Vipers came to join them, this time they were fully armoured, no specialists.
"Everyone take cover, I'm going to breach this door" The specialist stated. Everyone moved back several feet, most of the more armoured men simply used their large arm plates as cover.
"Fire in the hole!" The specialist shouted, running for cover.
BANG
OOC: I think I'll delete all my irrelevant OOC arguments at the end of this thread, so it makes easier reading when I come back to it for reference. I've modified my posts again to remove the bits about letting Qui get there in time... WV is right, the amount of time taken so far is around 3 minutes in fighting terms... maybe less or maybe more but not much.
OOC:
temporary delay due to Rave and I waiting to match timezones to talk on AIM :)

OOC WV, it came officially with a Shadow Bolt Rifle, but as I have no idea what Ceremite fired from a Pressurised Vacum Chamber would do right now, it has had it's weapon changed to one I do understand. A Fire Dragon Plasma Weapon, using standard Eldar Tech the circutry is far more Wraithbone oriantated, and less suscetable to EMP. Still not immune, I am saying it's got one shot before the weapon gives in, the charging it up etc. As for the Glue Coin toss again, he's actually almost down the Phosperus having a huge effect on him, he's standing now by simple will power and channeling mass amounts of his energy.
(Hmm I'm really bad at calling the coins in this thread, hang on doh... Okay what he will do against this will cost him, by the end of this thread he shall be 35% Crystal I think.)
IC
The glue flew into his eyes, his face, and not for the first time he wished simply that he had his Helmet as the sticky substance covered him, blinding him. He was blinded, wounded and alone, against larger numbers of foes. Perhaps it was time to leave the fight, if it where just the Mon-Keigh at stake he likely would have if he was completly honest, but there was more.
The enemy had stolen the Eldar's Genetical Structure, they had what was not theirs to have, and he could not allow that to continue. So he struggled oin, finally he decided on the only course left, and channeled again.
The Burning flames erupted from his Flesh to cover a very small area, a normal Farseer could not have done this, but Galdern was a student of Xeno's Magic as well as his own, of all the Farseers he had the greatest number of options. Telgorthrind had more power, and more direction but Galdern was more balanced.
((Basically it's a version of D+D magic, I know the spell in my head but canna remember it's name. Galdern as I said studies all the various forms of magic we have come across, it's his main role on the Craftworld. To understand alien Magics so that we never make the same mistake we did in the EOTED war, where we did not understand Kals magic and made a situation worse.))

Fireshield?
Aye thats the one roughly, slightly modified but basically fireshield. In this case mostly just to remove the Glue.

Rave shifted slighlty, but was still in a deep sleep. Her enchanting beauty became apparent as she lay in his arms. Her pale skin glistened slightly from the light that was provided. Her eyes did not open, but the inquizitor saw her in a new light; calm, harmless, fragile. She took on a different air while sleeping, one of innocence and beauty. Still, she did not awaken.
With the dart removed, Dana was comming around. Her eyes started tracking better, she started to babble a bit.

On the floor, Senkei and Monroe observe.
[OOC: Bored now.]
Dana mumbled something...Sandman put his ear nearer.
"Home" she wispered, barely audiable, "home...."
Yes thought Sandman, time to get out of here. He looked up at the guard. "Get us a car, any expense will do, get us to the airport. We are leaving here, before you have an international incident with Wazzu." He was quite forcefull. "And get me a cane."
“We’ll get you cane once we have you out of here, this area is not secure.” Jones replied.
“We’ll take you outside with a couple of my men supporting you if need be, then once we are out we will take you to the Hippogriff we came in on and you and Lord General deGritz will be flown to safety. From there on we will get you everything you need and fly you back to Wazzu.”
The Wisp, replete with its stolen cargo, drifted away from the ruined room. Gleaming reflective surfaces were bright in the rays of the sun - the few that poked through the cloud of dust that hung over the street.
Quietly, and smoothly, it moved up. The toroidal magnetic field ripped nails from the walls, and parts of the metal grille built into the concrete walls forced themselves out of cracks and strained in the light of a sun they had not seen since the wall was first built.
Elegantly, not hurried or scared by the gauss weapons used by the Iuthians, it headed towards a huge metal communications mast that was covered in parabolic dishes. And ... for under a second, dropped the toroidal shield, sending bits of ferrous metal hurling in every direction ... and it flew straight into the mast.
The toroidal field activated, and the Wisp slingshotted around the far heavier ferrous object, cutting the field briefly to break its enforced orbit ... and shot away with a thunderclap that denoted it had accelerated its light form to hypersonic speeds the massively powerful magnetic field hurled it away from the mast, snapping aerials and crumpling the parabolic dishes.
The ruined conference room was spattered with slow-decaying depleted uranium particles from the guns of the aggressors and the Iuthian defenders, with a half-crystallised Eldar Seer, hundreds of small insects rapidly pouring out of the hole in the wall and spreading out over the outside of the building, disappearing into cracks and crannies. It was silent, too, other than for Qui and the inquisitive few insects that rolled towards him.
******************************************************
"Sir ... complete data analysis of the craft finished," said the tired-looking Iuthian, presenting a sheaf of papers. "In summary, sir, we learned the following ... it is reflective, mirrored - lasers wouldn't have hurt it, even if we had any - but it did allow us to get some wonderfully accurate readings of its surface. There are a couple of tiny flapped ... "airholes", I guess ... that with the shape and the otherwise airproofing suggests many things. My personal theory is that it can supercavitate - its propulsion drives are not just electromagnetic, and from the similarity of that shield to ones we've seen on footage of Menelmacari devices, it would be capable of underwater propulsion. There were tiny nodules all over it - we got the occasional reading during movement of what looked to be pretty much monomolecular strands: no idea whats in them, sir, no way of doing chemical analysis. The electromagnetic field effect was immensely powerful ... it must have a faraday cage on the inside to allow the occupants not to die. We're talking the equivalent power to contain helium plasma, or to set up a particle accelerator. Interestingly, no weapons at all that we could tell - except the field.
As for where its heading - not much in that direction, it was heading north-ish until it reached the sea ... whereupon it dived. From there ... no idea, sir."
OOC:
OK. As discussed with Rave and talked about with Iuthia. The trial of Ravelyn will occur when the player in question returns from her holiday.
