The Gun Brothers development/production thread

18-09-2003, 03:13
OOC: This thread is to keep track of all developments and production of equipment used in my nation. This is not a sales thread, but a quick and easy way for people to see why my nation can produce this equipment. It will be updated when new items are developed/reverse engineered, or when I buy the production plans/rights to something. Please note that this is not a complete list of everything in my military, just what I have the capability to produce on my own.

With the delivery of a Nimitz class carrier to Tsunami Boat Works (from Freedom Country), The Gun Brothers has started its largest reverse engineering project to date. Once we R/E the carrier, we will begin the process of modernizing the design, and we will produce our own carriers (we are also planning on producing the standard Nimitz class carrier for the purpose of export).

Work on reverse engineering the Nimitz is progressing nicely, and we should be done in the next 2 NS years (2 RL days).

In other news, production of M1A2 Abrams tanks has begun. We estimate that production should be light (no more than 2,500 units per NS year, unless export demand requires higher production). Other items being produced in our military factories are F-35 Joint Strike fighters, F-18 Super Hornet fighters, AV/8 Harriers, and F-14 Super Tomcats (probably no more than 1,000 fighters each per NS year, unless export demand requires higher production).

Production of M1A2 Abrams tanks, F-35 Joint Strike fighters, F-18 Super Hornet fighters, AV/8 Harriers, and F-14 Super Tomcats has ceased (we currently have more than enough of each), and we will instead begin production of the F-117 Nighthawk, B-1B Lancer, B-52 Stratofortress and the B-2 Spirit. Due to the labor intensive steps needed to produce these units, we estimate we will only be able to produce 250 per NS year (1 NS year = 1 RL day, in this case).

The Gun Brothers will be halting its production of the B-1, B-2, B-52, and F-117 aircraft. Instead, we will begin to expand our WMD program, with the addition of precision nuclear bombs of a few different sizes (which will complement our nuclear Tomahawk inventory). Due to the complexity and necessary safeguards of these weapons, we will need to take extra time in developing these (it should take approximately 5 more NS years, or 5 RL days). Production will also be slow, for the same reasons listed above (estimated at about 10 units per NS year, or per RL day).
