Spacefleet

The bulk of our armed forces, since we started out in space.

Black jumpsuit, with a black dickie. (What is a dickie you ask? According to dictionary.com it is "a man's detachable shirt front", although we use them for both male and female.)

The shoulders of the black jumpsuit are color-coded:

Yellow=Command
Does exactly what it says. Officers part of the command structure of the fleet (Admirals, Captains, and XO's) wear this.

Navy Blue=Science
Does exactly what is says. Scientific research officers wear this.

White=Operations
Handles the organizational details of running a starship, as well as overseeing the computer systems, and operating remotely controlled equipment.

Red=Medical
The doctors and nurses aboard the ship.

Green=Tactical

Serves as police aboard the ship, operate the ship's weaponry, and serve as ground forces when needed.

Grey=Engineering

Builds, maintains, and pilots the ship.

Purple=Crew Services

Teaches family members aboard the ship, serves as counselors, and organizes recreational events.

Orange=Food Preperation & Sanitation

Cleans and Cooks aboard the ship.

OOC: Credit for base image (the image I edited to get my uniforms) for Spacefleet goes to Globalsecurity.org (Yes, that is an edited pic of their BDU diagram!) and the credit for the base image for the Defensia comes from the image of Star Trek: The Motion Picture jumpsuit style uniforms, from st-spike.de. Both have been very signifigantly edited.

All uniforms in Porst are a dull grey, very reminscent of World War II era uniforms. Ranks are determined by badges, medals, and other items, such as stars. If another minor area of the uniform has a need for color, red is used.

All Chitzenian soldiers must provide their own uniforms; this cuts down on state costs considerably. Generally, combat uniforms consist of black trousers, black boots, and a black sleeveless shirt. Elite Forces are provided with combat uniforms, usually black urban camoflauge. The government of Chitzenia has no military parades, and thus there are no dress uniforms.

Wazzu

Flag Officers (Admiral/General types) wear black

Career Officers wear dark grey with gold trim

Career Enlisted wear dark grey with black trim

Reserve (part-time) Officers wear grey with silver trim

Reserve (part-time) Enlisted wear grey with red trim

Draftees/Milita Non-Coms wear light grey with bronze trim

Draftees/Milita Enlisted wear light grey with yellow trim

Otherwise, all uniforms are identical, including buttons (which are on the right for both male and female uniforms).

Because everyone in Wazzu must spend two and a half years as drafted (rich, poor, human, elf, gay, straight, even handycapped), everyone who is not career or reserve has 2 issued uniforms which they must keep in good order for 2 weeks of training per year.

This is what I have so far. It's not complete, final, or very well written.

Arm Insignias:
Infantry: A bayonet on a red shield.
Artillery: A cannon barrel (bore at the top), with a bomb placed above the bore, on a red shield.
Engineer: A castle tower and lightning bolt on a brown shield.
Armor: A charging knight on a red shield.
Signals: Two crossed signals flags on a black shield.

Rank Insignias:
Recruit: no insignia
Private: one horizontal silver bar
Distinguished Private: two horizontal silver bars
Subcorporal: three horizontal silver bars
Corporal: four horizontal silver bars
Sergeant: 1 silver chevron (pointing up)
Platoon Sergeant/Superior Sergeant]: 2 silver chevrons (pointing up)
Warrant Officer: one gold square
Superior Warrant Officer: two gold squares
Lieutenant: one gold star over one bar
Superior Lieutenant: two vertically stacked gold stars over two bars
Captain: three vertically stacked gold stars over three bars
Major: one gold star
Lieutenant Colonel: two vertically stacked gold stars
Colonel: three vertically stacked gold stars
Brigadier General: one gold laurel wreath
Parade/Formal/Walking Out Uniform:
This is to be worn by officers, honor guards, bandsmen, etc.. It's similar to the US Navy Dress Whites, is light enough to be comfortable worn over a tee-shirt has collar of a generous enough cut not to be restrictive and various insignia & features unique to the unit (armor branch has chain-mail epaulettes, some units have an appropriately colored version of the peak cap, others such as the special forces wear the beret, etc., and the trousers have a stripe down the seam of the color of the shield on the insignia of the soldier’s branch of service), and available in a wide variety of color combinations to promote esprit-de-corps. The tunic may be worn with or without a belt. The trousers are dark blue.
Parade/Mess/Guard/Barracks/Service/Walking Out/etc. Uniform:
This uniform is khaki drab and has:
short- or long-sleeved shirt with name tapes, epaulettes, unit badges, and near-shirt-color buttons so awards don’t compete with them for the eye’s focus, designed to be worn with the collar open; a primary item
waist-length Ike jacket with Panteen collar with black & gold Army, full color patches, & white name tape, or “long” jacket like the USA’s Class A jacket worn with or without a belt
unit-specific headgear for esprit de corps in barracks
long waxed cotton coat in foul weather, with a removable fleece liner for cold weather
black tie for very formal occasions, with a tie clip bearing the unit badge

With the addition of boots, helmet, & webbing, it can be worn by sentries and soldiers in urban or field situations when a smarter appearance is wanted and/or or there is a low likelihood of combat. Shorts or BDU trousers may be worn instead of the “Chino” type trousers in barracks. All items made of easily laundered cotton.
Battle uniform:
This takes up 3 pages...I don't feel like picking out the important stuff right now.

Bajon
17-09-2003, 04:31
Bajoni MI's are extremely well trained, but we don't require them to wear a uniform, just any black clothes they want. We find that a comfortable soldier will fight better. In friendly atmospheres, our soldiers wear all black, pants, shirts, and a jacket/overcoat/cloak.

However, to fight in the Martian atmosphere of Bajon, our men wear fitted armour suits, though Mars is peaceful, and if wars occur, we rely on our MBM's (Mechs).
Kotterdam
17-09-2003, 04:31
The Dominion of Kotterdam Army dress uniform is black with silver piping and silver stitched epaulettes. General officers uniforms are stitched with gold piping and gold rank epaulettes instead of silver. Head-dress is a beret, the colour of which varies depending on the branch of the army: Black for combat arm, red for support, and gray for special operations.

The Air Force, or DKAF wears a dark blue uniform, again stitched with silver piping and rank epaulettes, with gold for General officers. Instead of a beret, a wedge cap is worn.

The Navy, or DKN dress uniform is white with white drill boots for officers, and Navy blue for NCOs. All ranks, including Flag ranks are stitched in silver on their epaulettes. Officers wear caps, while NCOs wear the standard flat-top sailor's cap.
Mushroomius
17-09-2003, 04:31
From: The Incorporated States of Mushroomius
Department: Tactical Forces

The capabilities and functions of the uniforms you are about to see are absent from the naked eye. These parts are classified.

Mushroom Garrisons:
http://www.nintendoland.com/graphics/tecknat/toad_1.gif
-These soldiers are well known as one of the most defensive types in military history. Their agility and quick nimble physical attributes allow for maximum dispensation of enemies, virtually running rings around the common human soldier. This compensates for their minimal strength, which, while negligible, can be a downfall. This is the reason why most Fungian soldiers are used as urban combat and defense units.

Human Soldier:
http://www.gameroom64.com/games/other_pics/luigi.gif
These soldiers are the primary offensive line of the Mushroomiun states. While lacking the nimble, agile characteristics of the Mushroom Garrisons, these soldiers also possess the strength that the aforementioned lack. These would be comparable to any normal human soldier frontliner. Keep in mind, this IS standard combat uniform for a war that wuld touch Mushroomiun soil. Other uniforms are available and can be used as the terrain dictates. These soldiers are often used as the most capable to drive scout recon karts.

http://images.google.com/images?q=tbn:eUIjHkX0dO0C:www.ciudadfutura.com/gamesworld/mariokart.jpg

Yoshian Servicemen:
http://www.marioguide.com/images/renders/gcn/sbm/yoshi-50.jpg
Of the third primary race inhabiting the Incorporated States, the Yoshis were long allies to the Mushrooms. Later in history, they voluntarily merged with Mushroomius to form a unified, single nation. They are not as adept to the above two races at land combat, the climates that would constantly change would adversely affect their cold-blooded reptilian nature. Instead, these brave servicemen and servicewomen volunteer for the more "controlled" environments. Spacecraft, naval ships, and aircraft are their especiality. They too, are fast and nimble and are adept in the microgravity of space. Their lack of truly useful forearms can be a hindrance when dealing with an assault rifle. (for those of the curious, riding a Yoshi is now banned unless consented upon by the Yoshi in question).

The ranks increase as such:
Army-Marine Corps/Navy-Airforce, Space Corps

A mix of two pins denotes a rank in between,
Ex: Mushroom + Flower = Corporal | Lieutenant-Commander

Mushroom
Sargeant | Lieutenant
Flower
Colonel | Commander
Leaf
Major | Captain
Star
General | Admiral

All are pretty good... Mushroomius lol

But... my question is... Langham... are those suits made of modern day materials or just leather and iron/steel?The pilot and tank crew suit is made of modern-day material. The metal armor used by our Elite Guard has leather pants while the outer bits of armor is pure steel. As for the basic infantry armor, it's nothing but steel. But the inside of the metal guard armor and the infantry armor is padded inside to make it more comfortable on the battlefield.

Standard Infantry
These soldiers are equipped with light versatile armor and officers have a blue shoulderpad on their left shoulder, although our rather hasty choice of color for their armor could give them a slight disadvantage...but their numbers and training alone should make up for that.

Our shocktroopers uniforms are gray, these soldiers and police officers resemble something from the 21st century USMC except with completely gray uniforms.

Kajal Mars
18-09-2003, 04:04
Kajal Mars uses the following uniforms for it's navy and military personnel. Flag uniforms include gold trim - others do not.

http://theros.ig3.net/theros/uniforms/mars-flag.gifhttp://theros.ig3.net/theros/uniforms/mars-command.gifhttp://theros.ig3.net/theros/uniforms/mars-science.gifhttp://theros.ig3.net/theros/uniforms/mars-security.gifhttp://theros.ig3.net/theros/uniforms/mars-military.gif

Brown/Red is Command, Blue/Purple is Science, and the Grey/Green is Security. These are the naval uniforms. Green is the uniform used exclusively by the military.

Our parent nation, Kajal, uses the same system for departments, but differing uniforms.

http://theros.ig3.net/theros/uniforms/kajal-flag.gifhttp://theros.ig3.net/theros/uniforms/kajal-command.gifhttp://theros.ig3.net/theros/uniforms/kajal-science.gifhttp://theros.ig3.net/theros/uniforms/kajal-security.gifhttp://theros.ig3.net/theros/uniforms/kajal-military.gif

In this case, Burgandy is Command, Blue is Science, Gold is Security, and Green is once again exclusive to the Military.

http://theros.ig3.net/theros/uniforms/navy-dress.gifhttp://theros.ig3.net/theros/uniforms/military-dress.gif

Our military forces don't have uniforms, nor do they wear clothes since nudism is compulsory. We also don't have a foot-infantry. Our battles are fought entirely from the armor and security of vehicles.

So, the enlisted soldier's battle uniform consists of an armored Chevy S10 with a 302 cu. in. 8 cyl. engine with 4 forward-firing .50 cal. guns, 2 rear firing .50 cal. guns, and choice of twin grenade launchers (mounted at 45 degree angle to each other), rocket launcher (4 tubes, auto reload), or flame thrower, each heavy weapon mounted in the bed with no swivel capability. Choice of heavy weapon depends on rank.

Officers are more heavily armed. Low ranking officers (Colonel and below) get a heavier-armored Chevy Silverado with a Duramax Diesel with 8 forward-friring .50 cal guns, 4,6,or 8 rear-firing .50 cal. guns (depending on rank), and same choice of heavy weapons in the bed, plus minelayer/-chucker capability.

When not in battle, rank is displayed as an inconspicuous tattoo near the collarbone, since service in the military is for life.

For Morchant Tirith the uniform is black, for Shadow Strike units black, but remove a lot of the armor.

OOC: the armor is made of Kevlar dipped in a Titanium coupound. For Morchant Tirith and Shadow Strike personel, the armor is a Kevlar dipped in a Titanium/Diamond compound. (remember, we have large asteroid mining centers, and with our tech level, we can manufacture synthetic Diamods

The official unifor for the New Russian Space Navy is quite simple. It is a dark blue fabric suit that all military personell must wear.

I'm actually still working out the actual design, so I'll have an image up in a bit.

All dataSERV operatives wear the same black suit, black shirt, and black tie. Ranks are signified as so:

White circle pin, 'of the Young': Lowest rank.
Red halfcircle pin, 'of Machinery': Gunsman.
Blue triangle pin, 'of Intelligence': Spy.
Silver bar, 'of Nobles': High, commanding rank. As there are no actual nobles per se in Alchemica/Daezeman, the high ranks are seen as one step below royalty. One bar is Count, two Duke.

That is a picture of Aumans Heavy Assualt teams uniform, the most readily available and highly publisized unit in the Army. The rest of the Army wears all black BDU. Big Pockets...bigger buttons! Black Armour and Black everything really. Cause its the coolest shade around.
