My policy about godmodding/godmoding/ignoring.

Very short and sweet, but I'm saying it now so nobody debates the point later. All players that RP with me should be familiar with and acknowledge my right to use at my discretion the measures detailed in this policy.

My policy in my own and other peoples' technology is that if you provide adequate backstory and have RPed the creation of a weapon, using it is not a godmod, no matter how destructive it is. This is based on my simple philosophy that THINGS ARE NOT A GODMOD JUST BECAUSE THEY HAPPEN TO BE KILLING YOU!

So, there you have it. That is my policy on godmods. And regarding godmodes? Nothing doing. If you godmode around me, the godmoding part of your RP will be ignored. To review, a godmode is when you RP damage or death to me, my country, or one of my NPCs. Only I can determine damage to my stuff. Conversely, I pay the same respect to everybody else. I will not RP damage, only attacks. DAMAGE MUST BE RPED BY THE NATION WHOSE TERRITORY OR PEOPLE ARE BEING DAMAGED.

Ignoring: If at any time a player considers a weapon or other type of technology/magic/whatever to be unfair, they have the right to ignore that part of my post. If they do this I, if I desire, must be granted the right in turn to either
a: scratch the post that has had all or part of it ignored and repost a different action, or
b: choose to terminate the battle and ignore all or part of the proceedings thereof.
I will not ignore any player for any reason ever. However, I reserve the right to ignore any and/or all of a player's actions if I so wish.
Collateral damage: I reserve the right to deny that I have been damaged either intentionally or unintentionally by players engaged in a battle which I was not aware of or involved in. This right is void if the player who has claimed damage to me approves their action with me beforehand OR gives me the chance to block/retaliate.

That is all. Questions? Comments? Put 'em here.

well what would you call a huge shippment being protected by 3 battle cuisers and 2 space carriers suddenly gets attacked at the enemy wins when there is a slim chance of the enemy winning since it is so heavily protected

If I had any clue what you just said, I would answer that question.

well if there is a shipment of goods getting transfered through space and it is protected by 4 space battlecruisers and 250 fighters and it gets blown up right away

If I understand you correctly, he's already answered this. The attacker can only post the attack itself- not the results. The attacker can [i]claim that he has launched missiles at your transports, but you get to decide how many of 'em make it through the defensive fire.

TEO's interpretation is correct. This policy has drawbacks, namely that if you get too selfish regarding hits and misses your opponent will ignore you in disgust, but it is necessary to ensure that
a: your opponent doesn't give him/herself an unfair hit/miss ratio, and
b: you have a chance to make clear your defenses for this type of attack and post damages accordingly (nobody knows your defenses better than you).
Of course, some people will abuse this and never admit that they've been hit for no good reason, but that's why it's important to recognize either side's right to ignore the conflict. Speaking of... I should add my ignoring policy too. I will do that now. Stand by for that addition to the first post.
