The human sat with a defiant look on his face. Across the table from him, Strategist buzzed its vestigial wings angrily.

"For the last time, I don't have enough up-to-date information to plan a perfect attack. If you wanted me for my analytical and planning skills, that's what I'll give you, but if you wanted me for specific strategic information, I'm afraid you wasted your time."

A series of hisses issued forth from the alien's spiracles, with an artificial translator respeaking the words in the human's language with a slight lag.

"If that is the case, Hasimir, then what's to keep me from tossing you into the recyclers? Or, better yet, venting your worthless corpse out of an airlock."

"Precisely as I said, my analytical and planning skills. But you won't get anything out of me until you put something in."

Strategist was not satisfied. But it would have to do. The final decision was not its, in any case.

Soon, the Overlord issued a final decision.

The message was sent out to all available to begin the move Sunward, and, around Quaoar, a Supercarrier broke orbit.

The Supercarrier proceeded at subluminal, keeping to a speed of .52c to avoid excessive inertial mass gain and time dilation.

coming from behind the sun, in a wide arc and at such high speeds, Neptune never even saw it coming until it was too late. Decelerating to a more manageable .01c at approximately 1 AU from Neptune, two heavy cruisers were released to forge on towards Jupiter.

NEPTUNE:: Maximum alert. Massive unidentified object approching from anti-spin sunward. Presumed hostile. Silhouette matches Gurlanai Supercarrier. Deploying preliminary forces to protect alien colonies on Triton. Estimate arrival within 13 hours. Unknown firing window. Please advise.

An Aide rushed into the office of the admiral of the space fleet.
"Sir! A gurlania supercarrier has just enter the solar system and is heading sunwards. It might be a retalitory attack for our invasion."
"Do we have enough ships to intercept it?"
"If we pull the Blïcråt out of Terre's orbit and get the base defnse frigaets we could...."
"But that would leave us open to anybody else. See who if anybody else is attacked or tries to intercept it. then contact them with a message of peace. Get base defenses ready"

The two heavy cruisers blinked into warp bubbles and disappeared as the Supercarrier approached Neptune. Entering an extremely elliptical orbit roughly opposite Triton, it opened row upon row of gunports on its planetward face, waiting to come in view of the moon.

The Node began sinking the sections beneath the Gurlanai ship deeper into the atmosphere. On the other side, 20 Replicators were scrambled to intercept and protect Triton.
