When submitting your application to the games, please submit the following information:
Country Name
Predominant Geography (choose from below)
Jungle
Desert
Plains
Forest
Mountains
Hills
Population(at the time of your application submission- this will be researched so no cheating)
Training Emphasis of your people from the following list(we understand that all of these are important but what does your nation specifically key on?)
Strength
Speed
Technique
Dominant athletes in your nation Whether the men or the women are better athletes or if they are about equal
Allocation of Sports Points For every 50 million people in your country, you will receive 1 sports point each in the men’s and women’s categories. You may allocate them in any manner you wish to any event you wish. Thus a nation with 250 million people gets 5 sports points each in Men’s and Women’s events. They can then put them all in women’s decathlon or put some in one event and then some in another.
Events in which your nation will NOT be competing

NOTE You may choose to not participate in some events, no event is mandatory. Also, there is an RP bonus. The events are not run through RP as all RPs are pre-/post-event, however strong role-playing will give you a slight leg up in the computation of results.

Tyrael, Agnosticium (AP) - The massive Agos Park Stadium roared as the full capacity crowd screamed and cheered wildly with the procession of track teams from each of the particpant countries. Even though participation was less than expected, crowd support showed no signs of diminishing. Fourteen national flags and the teams behind them paraded around the track, the naitonal anthems of each nation blasting through the sound system as the Agnostican Army Parade Band played each with absolute accuracy.

Among some of the standouts in the field were the single participant from the country of Lord Saruman the White and Recently founded Rejistania. Although lesser in number, both nation's athletes (or athlete as it were) showed immense pride and nationalism.

Shortly after the opening segments of the ceremony, the president of Agnsoticium gave a short induction speech.

"Welcome nations from around the world. On behalf of the people of Agnosticium, I would like to thank you all for participating in this qualifier for the Olympics and wish you all the best of luck. To those of you who have come to watch your champions compete on the world stage, we also extend the warmest of welcomes and hope that you enjoy your stay within our borders. To all of you who watch at home, here are your champions. Cheer them on and hopefully everyone shall return home to the cheers and love of those whom they represent here in Agnosticium.

May the best athletes win!"

AJ: Hi, I'm Alan Jorgenson and this is my partner Yuri Oloruv, and we're live from the brand new Agos Park facility here in the beautiful capital of Agnosticium. Today... the Olympic Qualifying Tournament. And we hav ea lot of great stories here, don't we Yuri?

YO: Absolutely, Alan. One of which happens to be the tiny nation of Rejistania. In amongst nations boasting hundreds of millions in population, they have sent their team here to compete with the best of them.

AJ: I couldn't agree more. And how about the nation of Lord Saruman the White? How about that for a team?

YO: Talk about surprising. Here we have the lone entrant, Movakh... an immense brute of a guy who likes to run distance events. We're more accustomed to seeing guys like him in the field events where strength is key, but this guy has a motor that just won't quit. Quite an amazing specimen.

AJ: I totally agree, but now we turn to our first event... a race that has been run for thousands of years and certainly defines what it is to be a distance runner. The awe-inspiring marathon. Twenty-six miles of flat out running and our competitors actually run faster times over the entire distance than I can in just one mile!

YO: These distance runners are simply incredible to watch train and perform. Their standing heartbeats are so slow that you would almost think they were dead and they are in just such great shape. And I tell you, this should be one hell of a meet.

AJ: That's absolutely right. We have the heavily favored teams out of Leichsmark and Pavesia. The four runners from these two countries have been fighting each other for years to claim dominance of the long run but the less-favored Kekkosmaa actually has the current victor of both the Toyko Twenty-Six and the Sarajevo Shin-splint. He's simply a speed demon and I'd expect nothing less than the very best out of these competitors.

YO: Just remember, Alan, when Carelicium or someone from the Belmore Family or Apostasia win, that everyone has a chance!

AJ: That's so true, my friend and we're about to see what happens. The race has just begun!

NEW TRACK AND FIELD WORLD RECORD SET AT OLYMPIC QUALIFYING MEET

Tyrael, Agnosticium (AP) - A new Track and Field record was set today as multiple marathon runners ran past the previous record set in 1984 by Carlos Lopes of Portugal. His time of 2:09:21 was shattered by a runner from the nation of Apostasia who ran the twenty-six mile course in 2:05:57. The second place runner from Kekkosmaa also broke the record by nearly a minute with a time of 2:08:33 and third place went to the second runner from Apostasia who was only nineteen seconds off the former world record time, clocking in at 2:09:40.

SECOND WORLD RECORD BROKEN IN ONE DAY

Tyrael, Agnosticium (AP) - In what has turned out to be an eventful day at the Agnostican Olympic Track and Field Qualifier, a second world record was broken. Earlier in the day the marathon record established in 1984 was broken. Now the javelin record, set in 2000 by the Czech Jan Zelezny was broken on a tremedous throw by a Kekkosmaa athelete. The former record of 90.17m was beaten by over half a meter as the Kekkosmaasian (sp?) established a new distance to beat of 90.77m. Kaze Progressa and the Belmore Family took the silver and bronze, respectively.

This is Radio RejiCAST transmitting directly from Tyrael, Agnosticium. I dare say we have a great result to report in hammer throwing. Tasman Ija reached an unbelieveable second place. The decision was somewhat close, just 20 cm difference were finally between the Belford Family athlete (name currently not available) and the best athlete in whole Rejistanija. But the Belford Family finished third and secured by this a bronze medal. A Kekkosmaan athlete won gold.
Tasman himself did not believe the results, as he heared them. He realized his placemant not before the coach Ilin Syku grabbed him and shouted meaningless sounds of luck. The Rejistanijan Fans in the stadion, who by the way outnumber any other nation if you think in percent of the population, were overjoyed. No matter how the T&F-qualifier continue, we have no reason to be ashamed. Idine Sala, Radio RejiCAST.

Javelin results below expectations - Sports minister still missing

The Carelian men's javelin team met with a disappointment earlier today. Our two javelineers, Marko Räty and Seppo Tamminen, were ranked embarrassingly the fourth and the fifth in a surpriseful finale. Räty, injured in his fourth throw, was at that time still at the second place with his great opening 87.28.

"The most embarrassing thing here is that we lost to Kekkosmaa again", commented a spectator. First the Winter Games, and now this. "How does that West Finnish dictatorship always get the medals? I really hope that Kati and Heli (female javelineers) will give us some compensation for this."

The Carelian team is still missing their national hero, the Sports minister Kimi Karjalainen, and one of their most important female coaches, the ex-javelineer Tiina Rantanen. Both are still blockaded in the Carelian Embassy in Daistallia because of a local civil disorder.

The javelineer Heli Ingberg, practicing, promised: "We will try even harder today because of Tiina. May she be proud of us."

Interview the the captain of BMV's Track and Field team:

-Welcome into the studio, Mr Vanheden! So, now from what we've seen the first day, which should have been the great day for our contenders, what are your feelings?
-A bit mixed, Sigge Slagga in the mens' Hammer and Lena Spjut in the womens' javelin did exceptionally good I think. Lena, with her new NB result which almost rendered her a medal, is of course the biggest surprise to many of you, but she's talented and I'm pleased that she finally got her breakthrough in a huge competition. Sigge's result is also very good. That competition was very tough concidering the final results. In the last championship he would have been second with 78.4 m.
-Yes, those are definately the possitive results, but we also have some not so good?
-Too bad, yes. Ove Stenkula was really disappointed after the mens' Shot put. 19m is far below his standards. He is normally solid around 21-21.5m, but he had problems with his rotation technique and as such, I guess he'll be happy with the 6th place in a year or two, which really isn't bad at all. A lot worse did our men in the Javelin. That was a complete fiasko. I have no idea what went wrong there. The Lack of moving targets perhaps? We'll have to sit down and analyse what went wrong there.
-Ok, thank you very much and good luck in the upcoming events!
-Thank you!

AJ: Well Yuri, we come to the close of an exciting first day in this Olympic Qualifier... what a day with two new world records set!

YO: I couldn't agree with you more, Alan. We had such a treat as we saw some unlikely upsets and some expected wins, as well as some tremendous shockers. Let's start off with the men's marathon. Apostasia! Who'da thunk?

AJ: Thunk?!?!?! Hahahaha... Once again, you're right on... Where did these Apostasians come from? This was certainly unexpected. The two heavy favorites in this event were Pavesia and Leichsmark, but the highest any of those nations finished was 5th... in fact they had 5th, 6th, 7th and 10th which isn't bad but still well below expectations.

YO: Well one team that did meet their expectations in the marathon was Kekkosmaa... even though they came in second and only grabbed silver, their runner still broke the former world record which had ben broken only minutes before. A sour victory, but still a great run, which brings me back to Apostasia who not only broke the world record with a spectacular run, but their second runner who took bronze ended only nineteen seconds off of that former world record... I must say that this was some excellent distance running. Good job Apostasia.

AJ: On to other events, we got ourselves yet another surprise in the Men's Hammer as the Belmore Family, not expected to win anything in that event took bronze!

YO: Wait a minute.. wait just a minute! How can you mention surprises and NOT mention the excellent showing by the smallest nation in the meet, Rejistania? They came out of nowhere and took silver as well as 4th place while the favored Big Mad Vikings simply stayed mad and had to settle for 6th, 7th and 14th! I mean where did these upstarts come from? Congratulations Rejistania!

AJ: We also can't forget the showing by Kekkosmaa in the Javelin. One of the favored nations in this event, they proved that they were the real deal, their star athlete hurling for a new world record, set back in 1984 by the Czech, Jan Zelezny. Amazing.

YO: Where did he get that arm? Can I buy one? Hahaha! That was a spectacular demonstration. But what about Kaze Progressa and the Belmore Family? Once again, neither favored to win anything and yet they take the silver and bronze, respectively while the heavy favorite Carelicum settles for 4th and 5th, Halfassedstates for 7th. Yet another one of the upsets.

AJ: I don't know what Kekkosmaa is putting in their water, but they are putting up one hell of a showing here in Agnosticium, early! We move on to the Men's shot put and once again, Kekkosmaa has medalled, taking the silver while Carelicum finally has some success with the gold and Apostasia taking their third medal with the bronze. The only surprise here was the success of the Apostasian while Carelicum and Kekkosmaa were two the favoreds, once again.

YO: And though it wasn't a medal, don't forget that Carelicum and Kekkosmaa also took 4th and 5th, showing their dominance with the cannon ball. Well, we're going to take a quick break right now with a word from our sponsors and then we'll be back for the 1st Annual Agnostican Olympic Track and Field Qualifier!

This is Radio RejiCAST, reporting from the track and field qualifiers form Tyrael, Agnosticium. Here with me in the studio is Ilin Syku, chief coach of the rejistanian T&F-team. Hejida Syku'he!
Syku: Hejida Sala'he!
Sala: What is your opinion on this first day?
Syku: It was really... unbelievable. I mean, not just because of our placements. Agnosticium did a very excellent job in organising this event.
Sala: Are you satisfied with the placements of your athletes?
Syku: Of course I am. I mean, before the events no one expected anything, and now every athlete managed to finish on a single-digit-spot.
Sala: What are your expectations for tomorrow?
Syku: I expect nothing and I hope the fans agree. Despite the great results we are far away from international standarts.
Sala: Thanks for the interview. Back to our main studio in Sike

-Day two in this competition is coming up and what can we hope for?
-The only event today with atlethes from BMV is women's discus, but there's no reason not to hope for another triumpf! At the warm up, both Britt-Erik Bamsestark and Ingagill Hardrade looked really on the edge. Or borderline, I don't know. There's something in the air...
-But they don't really like each other do they?
-What ever gave you that idea?
-Well, one tried to kill the other day with a mad bull as a weapon? And the other, barley surviving the bull attack, threw the one through a 7th floor window in response? Luckily, there was a pool outside and thus, no injuries?
-Oh that, that's just common BMV adrenalin enhancing prior to big competitions, man you've been abroad too long...
-Oh I see... ok, lets hope for the best! Thank you again, Vanheden, the captain of the BMV team, for coming here!
-Thank you!
-And we will of course report live from the arena when the competitions start, so stick with us, Radio BMV 106.6 MHz...

AJ: Welcome back everybody and now it's time to go over the women's results from the first day and what a great competition there as well. The women's marathon was almost what we expected it to be with the Belmore Family flat out running away with the gold, a full mile ahead of the closest competition. Although they took silver, you can tell that the ladies from Leichsmark aren't overly happy as they were expected to dominate the field. They did end up taking second and fourth, but were hoping for at least two medals.

YO: Yes, these ladies are a bit dejected with the results, but they still did one heck of a job, Alan. But how about those decathletes? This is the first time that women have ever done the decathlon in a major venue and they scored very very well.

AJ: Oh, absolutely comrade, and Pavesia showed why they have some of the toughest ladies on the planet with the gold, followed by another medalling by Kekksmaa and Leichsmark who simply went off on the rest of the competition. Leichsmark came into this event and proceeded to take 3rd, 4th AND 5th. That's totally unprecedented and absolutely amazing.

YO: Very true, Alan, but what is also somewhat surprising is the result of the Belmore team. Expected to do great things, they took 6th and then the two final qualifying spots. Better luck next time. What a tough break.

AJ: Tough break, yes, but these are mentally tough women and they will bounce back from this, I'm sure and do just fine to represent the Belmore Family in the Olympics.

YO: I tell you what though, Alan... those Kekkosmaasians are something else so far in this competition. With only eight events today, they managed to bring home three gold medals and three silvers. Absolutely dominant! And I bring this up because their third gold today came from the Women's Javelin, falling just shy of the world record. A pity too. Halfassedstates and Kaze Progressa both pulled out impressive throws in a competition that was, overall, very evenly matched. The top nine were all within 1 meter of each other with number 10 being 1 cm away from that. In fact, the shortest throw was still only 1.63 meters off of the gold.

AJ: Once again, that was a fine competition in the Javelin and we are certainly impressed. Lastly we have the Women's Shot Put. Although they use a smaller weight, it s still impressive to see how far they can hurl these small cannon balls. In this case, it was the Big Mad Vikings, the Belmore Family and Halfassedstates who wer the dominant ones, taking the top six spots. Those Big Mad Vikings went to town and won the gold, while the Belmore Family quietly but impressively took 2nd and 3rd to end the day on a high note.

Well folks, that's all for tonight in a great first showing from these fourteen nations with a great mix of expected wins and suprising upsets. We hope you all have a great night and we'll see you tomorrow for Day 2 of the Agnostican Olympic Qualifying Track & Field Meet.

For my partner, Yuri, and all the rest of us, I'm Alan Jackson wishing you a great and safe night.

The Number 1 sports reporter of Kekkosmaa appeared on millions of TV screens in Kekkosmaa.

"This is Matti Meikäläinen from Kekkoathletes, the Number 1 Sports Channel in Kekkosmaa! Right now I am in Agnosticium, where the World Track and Field Championships are held.

I am sure that many of you have already heard that Kekkish athletes have done very well indeed. Harri Parviainen was completely outstanding in Javelin, breaking the old world record by over half a meter! Now let's hear what Harri has to say about this."

The face of Harri Parviainen appears on screens.

"Well, it was certainly a very good competition", Harri said. "90.77 meters, now that's pretty good, I must say! Now I was a bit afraid of that guy from Kaze Progressa when I saw his first throw, but looks like I really had nothing to worry about. Actually, I'm amazed that I was so good. The best of all is that it was completely fair game. I'm sure nobody cheated."

Then Harri is surrounded by fans wanting autographs, and the interview must be stopped.

"Well, I am sure we can get interviews from the other athletes as well. Especially the winner of Women's javelin is pretty hot stuff around here right now.. This is Matti Meikäläinen from Kekkoathletes, stay on the channel!"

OOC: I believe the world record is actually more like 98m. And the marathon record is something like 2hrs 6mins...

OOC @ Big mad vikings - Yes, but not as recently as 2000. They changed it about 1990 because we were getting 100m-ish throws. It wouldn't have hit the audience, but we were getting to the stage where if we got any bigger, a javelin could've caught the inside lanes of the track. Hence the javelin being made heavier.

There was a second modification of the javelin? I haven't heard about that one. :? Or are you saying they're back at the same lengths with the first modified javelin?
Agnosticium
25-09-2003, 17:25
OOC: Regardless of what the old record for the old javelin is/was, we're using the new Olympic records which list Zelezny in 2000 as the record holder. All I'm saying is that I'm using the most recent Olympic records. If you would rather that I say they broke the Olympic records, then I can do that. And the Olympic Marathon time is what is being used. You can't really use world record marathon times because they will be different depending upon the city that they are run in. Boston and NY marathons are easier to run than the smog-filled LA marathon, and all three are easier than the Marine Corps marathon in humid Virginia or the USAF Marathon in Denver, being 1 mile up. Same goes for marathons in other countries. So the Olympic record is the standard.

IC:
AJ: Well, Yuri! We're back for day two of what looks to be another exciting set of events here at the Agnostican Olympic Track and Field Qualifier.

YO: You better believe it Alan. I can't wait to see what happens today. We have both of the 10K races, the 800, Discus, Pole Vault and High Jump.

AJ: Absolutely! and I just can't wait to see who takes home the medals here. We have some particular favorites here. How about the athletes from Kekkosmaa and Leichsmark in the 10,000m. They look like they're prepared to just run away with this.

YO: True, Alan, but let's not forget Kovakh, the lone ethlete from Lord Saruman the White! He's one of those guys you can never count out of anything. It's too bad he's not competing in the Pole Vault for instance... I mean he's so powerful, but with him out of the event, it looks like Halfassedstates and Apostasia have those events locked down. But you never know, we could have another sleeper.

AJ: Once again, you've hit the nail on the head and it really looks like a good day in the Vault for those two nations. In the High Jump, I like Kekkosmaa once again.

YO: No way, Alan, you're wrong on this one. I'm putting my money on either the Belmore Family or Apostasia... and let's not forget that Rejistania has competitors in this event as well.

AJ: Fair enough, but what about the Discus? Who do you think is going to take the gold?

YO: Well I've been looking at the Big Mad Vikings and I say that their technique is exceptional and they have some really good entrants in both the men's and women's sides of this event. Look for them to take the gold here.

AJ: I definitely think that they have the advantage in the men's side, but the women's?

YO: Well Kaze Progressa and Rejistania both have higher caliber discus throwers, but I just don't think that they are on the same level as the Vikings. The rest of the field looks pretty even to me, personally.

AJ: Well that leaves us with the 800m, considered to be the longest sprinting event. I'd say we're looking at a solid showing from Olympus Coliseum in both the men's and women's. There's really no competition on the men's side at their level. But the women... well leichsmark certainly looks like they are going to give those ladies a run for their money.

YO: It's certainly going to be interesting to see, isn't it Alan?

AJ: Oh yes... and here come the runners for the 10,000m!...

Close to the same lengths with the first modification, with that throw anyway. But I consider the 98m throw to be one serious one-off.

IC: press release from the leader of Track and Field (Sport Progressa), Maihre Mannal...

'We are obviously very pleased with our performances so far. We hope to continue this in the rest of the competition. We are obviously especially pleased with our medallists in each of the javelin contests, Mauran Mauwrelan and Releaie Qauraen. We hope to win more medals in this competition and prove our nation is a significant sporting force.'

Kaze Progressa celebrated last night as pole vaulter Tuhi Elvaet secured bronze in the pole vault. It is the country's fourth medal of the games, further proof that the sport-mad nation is outperforming many larger nations in the athletic world.

On interview Tuhi, somewhat out of breath, merely said 'I love it... I love it... thank you everyone...'

ANOTHER RECORD FALLS IN AGNOSTICIUM

Tyrael, Agnosticium (AP) - Today, yet another wrold record fell as the women took the field in the pole vaulting event. In this Olympic qualifier, seven nations had a total of 21 women competing for the coveted 16 spots. Favored nations were Halfassedstates and Rejistania, both known for having women with strong upper bodies. Throughout the first round, it seemed as if fate was to smile upon the women from Halfassedstates, taking 1st and 2nd with Rejistania taking the third place. Unfortunately for them, Kaze Progressa and the Belmore Family had other plans, first Kaze Progressa beating out the women's world record with a vault of 15 ft 1 1/2 inches, a half of an inch over the record set by Stacy Dragila at the 2000 summer games in Sydney. No sooner had she cleared the pads when the Belmore family athlete upped the ante by a full three inches and soared into the record books at 15 ft 4 3/4 inches, shattering the old and newly set records.

Halfassedstates had to settle for third and the bronze while Rejistania took 4th and 5th. Medical reports from St. Daly's hospital list Halfassedstates second vaulter (the one who had been in second) in serious but stable condition after her second vault, an attempt over 15 ft 2 inches ended in disaster, her pole snapping mid-flex on the way up, sending the athlete plummetting to the ground, head-first where she came into contact with the rubberized runway leading to the pads. Agnosticium's number three vaulter is also listed in serious but stable condition after she straddled the bar and crashed down with it between her legs, landing awkwardly and shattering her hip. Leichsmark's second jumper is in critical but stable condition following a vault too close to the bar support and her neck sliding down the bar. She has been responsive to treatments, however, and is expected to make a full recovery.

This is Radio RejiCAST broadcasting directly from Tyrael, Agnosticium. In the Track & Field Olympic Qualifiers, our female Athlete Viki Lanja nearly archieved a second senstation: She managed to reach an unbelievable 4th place. Her Teammate Mesit Hakim missed her height only by a narrow margin and became fifth. I have to admit, that I never imagined our country to compete so good with nations wich are at least 30 times bigger.

What a shame!

ONCE AGAIN, A RECORD FALLS IN AGNOSTICIUM

Tyrael, Agnosticium (AP) - Once again, in what seems to be a habitual occurrence, a track and field record has fallen at the Agnostican Olympic Qualifier. Today, seven female athletes from five nations matched or tied the previous record held by Stefka Kostadinova of Bulgaria. At the top of the list was the astounding leap of 6' 10 1/2" of a young woman from Halfassedstates. Halfassedstates dominated the competition, taking three of the top four spots to include the gold and the bronze. Kekkosmaa ruined a straight run of the medals by taking second place and the silver.

Of note are the women from Rejistania, Leichsmark, and Kaze Progressa who took the 5th, 6th and 7th places, respectively. The entire field performed superbly and once again, this shows how women's athletics has progressed and will continue to do so into the new milennium.

LARS RIEDEL, MARTINA HELLMAN... GERMANY - EAT YOUR HEART OUT!!!

Tyrael, Agnosticium (AP) - Today, we saw an impressive display of athletic prowess from a team who was predicted to do wonderful things in the field events. the Big Mad Vikings put on a heck of a show in the last events of the day for both the men and women... the discus. Move over Germany, there's a new power in the discus-throwing world. Today's event saw both the men's and women's Olympic records fall to the might of the BMV.

On his very first throw, the BMV athlete hurled the discus 69.4 meters and tied the record held by Germany's Lars Riedel. He then proceeded to hurl the next discus the same distance and broke the record by a full half meter. Apostasia posted a decent response, at 69.8 m... .1 meters under the throw from the BMV whose teammate promptly matched the record with his own throw, securing the gold for the BMV.

Not to be outdone, the female BMV athletes simply dominated the competition, taking all three medals and breaking the women's Olympic record as well. Martina Hellman's mark of 72.3m fell to the BMV with a mighty 72.6m hurl.

AJ: Well Yuri, how about day two at this Olympic qualifier? I simply can't imagine a more exciting track meet!

YO: You are so right, Alan... I mean this has just been a hell of an exposition of athletic prowess and technique so far. With this second day wrapping up in the fashion that it did, I simply can't wait for day three of this meet.

AJ: I tell you what, I'm on my toes for every event and tomorrow I expect the same, but let's get a full recap of what went on today! We started off with the 10,000m.

YO: And what a start... Heavy favorites in both the men's and women's side Leichsmark and Kekkosmaa secured three of the six possible medals and took five of the top eight spots. Leichsmark showed that they are unequaled in the middle-distances, taking both golds as well as fourth on the women's side. Kekkosmaa took the men's bronze but also had the #4 men's runner. Almost a surprise, Pavesia took the silver for the men and bronze for the women while Kaze Progressa ended up with the silver for the women's runners.

AJ: Both races were great to watch and I can't wait to see these athletes next year in the Olympics.

YO: That's for sure, Alan.

AJ: Then we had the 800m. Oh boy... the world's longest sprint, it's no secret that the 800 is one of the most feared races by up-and-coming track athletes. The endurance required to run at those speeds is staggering.

YO: And once again, Alan, we have two dominant teams in this event..Leichsmark once again, and this time Olympus Coliseum.

AJ: Very true... It seems that Leichsmark had something to prove about its distance runners here and they, along with Olympus Coliseum, put on an 800m clinic. With all of their runners in the top five of both the men's and women's sides, these two nations virtually routed the opposition, only the Belmore Family sneaking in and stealing the women's gold prevented a run of the medals.

YO: Funny thing I noticed, Alan... in both races, an Olympus Coliseum runner beat both Leichsmark atheletes who then took the next two spots, trailed by an OC runner. It's almost as if it were planned but to see these athletes battle it out, you know that isn't the case.

AJ: How about that... good observation, Yuri... I had totally missed that. Anyways, on to the pole vault where, unfortunately, we had a few serious injuries. Luckily all parties are listed in stable condition and we hope for their swift recovery.

YO: How true and how tragic to be hurt doing something you love so much... I'm sure all of our hearts go out to those athletes hurt today.

AJ: On the lighter side, the Belmore Family broke another record today with their gold-medal winning women's pole vaulter. And what a feat... fully four inches over the previous record.

YO: It was an amazing vault, Alan. I was watching the whole thing and when she took off, she was like poetry in motion, shattering the old record. But let's not overlook Kaze Progressa and Halfassedstates who also tied or beat the old record. And then we have Apostasia, simply annihilating the competition in the men's vault, securing 1st, 2nd and 4th. It was scary how easily they put down the competition, beating the 5th place finisher by no less than 3 inches, the gold medallist by a whole foot!

AJ: All I can say, Yuri, is wow. And since I can't say anything more on pole vaulting, let's move on to the high jump where the men's field seemed to be pretty equal.

YO: You are so right, Alan. We had medallers from three different nations in what was a very even event. But on the women's side... well another record fell there. Halfassedstates took over, taking three of the top four spots to include gold and bronze. At onve point they looked to have a lock on all three medals before Kekkosmaa leapt past her opposition and stole the silver. Excellent effort.

AJ And then we had the discus... and talk about exciting or what! Both records fell today, held by Lars Riedel and Martina Hellman of Germany. The Big Mad Vikings made the discus their own personal show, locking down five of the six medals as Apostasia managed to get in a great hurl of the disc and end up with second in the men's side.

Well... it looks like we are about out of time so I'll take this quick moment to remind you that this meet is brought to you by Michedale Tires and Ares footwear... Just kill it! Good night everyone and so long from Tyrael. I'm Alan Jackson with Yuri Oloruv from Tyrael, Agnosticium and we'll see you tomorrow

Idine Sala: This is Radio RejiCAST, and we are broadcasting from Tyrael, Agnosticium. There are new results from the T&F qualifiers: Tasman reached the 13th place in Triple Jump, Viki Lanja reached the 5th place and Mesit Hakim the 8th. They two of course in the Women's triple jump! Congrats to Viki and to Mesit!
Here with me is Tasman Ija. Hejida Ija'he!

Tasman Ija: Hejida Sala'he!

IS: How would you describe your day?

TI: Yeah, I better don't tell, what I think. There could be children listening.

IS: What was the problem in Triple Jump?

TI: The others were better!

IS: *laughs* That is surely not the only reason.

TI: No it is not! The other reason is, that I am not good enough and Hakim isn't good enough, too. We do our best to compete and to participate, but *pauses* Here is everything just beginning. Our Track and Fields team was founded for the single reason to participate here

IS: Do not exaggerate, please!

TI: Exaggeration makes things clear! Our team existed before, but not very long. And to be honest: our participation was kind of crazy!

IS: Crazy?

TI: Yes, crazy! We did not see a chance to succeed anywhere, our nation is so small, that, I guess, most of the people here would not find it on the map. But we still came here and after this second place, we thought, that we could compete. Isn't this crazy?

IS: I guess, somehow it is. But even if it is crazy, many of our listeners really like this competition.

TI: Veka! That is most important!

IS: Yeah, now we have to say goodbye to Tasman Ija. Now follows a short commercial break.

Bump!
Kaze Progressa
23-10-2003, 21:35
Kaze Progressa continued their run of non-gold medals with a silver for Mauwinlai Mawavel in the men's 110m hurdles. A time of 13.18 in the final, just outside his personal best, was easily enough for second behind the dominant Halfassedstates athlete who would have broken 13 seconds but for easing off, hands aloft, at the finish, as if he didn't care about the time.

It is the fourth silver for the Progressans at these championships, and some fear that the athletes will never shake off their collective 'nearly men/women' image.
