Transmission to the world--RP
The corridors glowed with a soft light. The light came from nowhere seen, it just was. Nobody was to be seen in this tunnel, but there was noise coming from begind a door. People were talking.
In the newly created Diplomat's Room, all of the Delegates were talking. On the table before them was a radio. It wasn't a modern radio, but a fairly simple one.
"I still don't see why we didn't just send the signals by Conversion", said a Delegate.
"We've been through this. We must greet the Surface on their own terms", responded another.
"And they must not know of Conversion, not yet."
"Nor shall they know of us. Al of our power shall be shown in another."
It sounded as though the argument had been repeated again and again.
"Then we shall activate this silly device?"
All of the delegates responded in unison, "We shall."
Another person entered, and the radio hummed to life. "This is the President and sole representative of The Beneath. We wish to open relations with you of the Surface. Please respond", Said the newly entered person.
The Delegates left.
OOC: I wanted my first post to be a good RP post. You know nothing of that meeting, nor anything except that that transmission came from an uninhabited part of Antarctica. At least uninhabited on the surface...
OOC: Do you mind if a future tech nation gets involved? :) too lazy to log in as my modern tech nation
I transmitted to all nations, did I not?
I transmitted to all nations, did I not?ooc: some people are picky about who they rp with...
*The CCSS Trust, a Tachyon-Class Corvette in orbit of earth, picks up the signal and tries to trace it*
OOC: You can't ignore that large of a block of nations, can you?
OOC: You can't ignore that large of a block of nations, can you?OOC: you can ignore whoever you want... you can't very well have a medieval nation invaded by aliens, or a realistic nation invaded by elves.
OOC: I personally think that it would add flavor. "As the creatures came out of the craft, they were met by a volley of arrows." Hehe.

Antonus Swane stood before the Magistrates of the Eurydian Republic. His hands trembled and sweat crawled slowly down his face. He had called an emergency meeting of the most powerful people in the Republic... and for that he needed a good reason. Emperor Valeth stood but twenty feet from Antonus, and his voice called out to him. "So... why have you called us here Commander? What is so important to drag me from my bedchamber?" Antonus tried to speak, but his tongue faulterd, "w,w,well sir... I have recieved a message... from Earth." The Hall erupted into murmurs and shouts, while the Emperor spoke, "How is this possible commander. We are over 45 lightyears away from earth. Choose your words carefully... or a room in the psychiatric ward awaits you." Antonus swallowed, and put the small, clear data crystal into the projection device. The message played, and again the Directorate was filled with talk.
"Silence, silence I say!" Valeth huffed, then stood. He walked to the center of the hall, his large, deep blue cape flowing behind him. He adjusted his spectacles, and looked over the commander. "If what you say is true... then we picked up a microwave transmission in an almost instantaneous fashion." He turned to the Magistrates and spread his arms wide, "I say this deserves a look. I say we put this to vote." One Magistrate stood up and scoffed at the Emperor, "Why should we waste resources on a fruitless effort? I say we throw this man into the asylum and move on to the next order of business." The Emperor smoldered, "Watch your tongue Magistrate. Sit down and be quiet. I have no time for petty bickering. Pick up your ballots and vote now." Within moments the votes were cast and tallied.
The Emperor took his seat on the thrown and nodded with gratification, "74-26 in favor of an investigation. Now all that is left is to decide who shall look into this matter. Any volunteers." After a few moments a short, middle aged man stood and addressed the Hall, "I, Yole Trenus volunteer my house for the investigation." "Good then," the emperor said, "It is settled. You may leave at once to check out this matter. Now... commander... Antonus was it? You may go. If this pans out... you could be looking at a promotion." "Thank you sir," Antonus said, and he slowly, shakily walked out of the chamber.
You didn't hear that! How did you hear that? Seriously, how? That radio was as it seemed!

Please... don't get excited... I RP so rarely... I saw an opportunity and decided to throw my two cents worth in. I could say it was enhanced while the commanders ship was exiting hyperspace. If you don't want me then I'll leave. I was just trying to have some fun. I would've explained it later.

righto... I probably won't say much till later. After you post more stuff.
I don't IC'ly know if any of you exist yet. The message is just repeating. No action will be taken until a response is heard or a long time passes.

Yole Trenus's brother, Beltor Trenus was ultimetly charged with seeking the cause of this transmission out. He had served in his House's military for over 10 years as head General, but in that time he had never left the Chromstar Solar System.
His Primus Battlecruiser was powered up and ready to jump to hyperspace. His cruiser went alone, for he did not want to cause the inhabitants of Earth any alarm.
It is expected to take 3+ days to get to Earth.

Alarm is unlikely. We're used to space fleets. Well, we aren't but you get the idea.

(OOC: I mean... the people of earth detecting a semi-alien vessel coming out of hyperspace... Generals and Presidents will certainly wonder why its here.)
“Sir… we have arrived at the proper coordinates.” Beltor had been daydreaming for the last hour, and he was startled back into reality. “Good… prepare a message as soon as we jump to realspace. Repeat this message, 'We are from the Eurydian Republic, we are on a peaceful mission. We are investigating the source of a transmission. Do not harm us for we will not harm you.' There... thats it.” Beltor licked his lips and ordered his ship to exit hyperspace.
Within moments they were overlooking the second most beautiful sight Beltor had ever seen. In front of him were bustling space docks, gigantic stations all resting on the backdrop of a beautiful blue planet. “My goodness… it rivals the beauty of Eurydice itself.” The ensign nodded, and began to transmit their message of peace. “All right,” Beltor started, “search for the transmission. Hopefully it is repeating and we will be able to pinpoint its location.”

Sir... we have pinpointed the source of the transmission." Beltors face beamed, "Good... plot cooridnates and take us there... in orbit of course." The ensign obeyed and within moments they were over the cold, white wastes of Antarctica. "How could anything live down there? It is a dead place. Are you sure this is where it came from?" The ensign nodded, "Yes sir... it seems to be coming from beneath the surface." Beltor rubbed his chin, and squinted his eyes, "Open a channel... I'm assuming the modifications have been made to our communication equipment?" "Yes sir," the ensign said, "It will now project microwave frequencies." Beltor nodded, "Good... send them this message. 'Greetings... I am Beltor Trenus of the Eurydian Republic. We have detected your transmission and have come to... meet you. Um... Right... well... we await your response." The ensign smiled weakly at the Generals lack of diplomatic tact and sent the message. Everyone on the bridge listened intently for a response.

The "President" responds : "Greetings to you as well. Are you a representative of the Surface People?"

Beltor looked quizzically at the ensign, "Ummm... no... we may be surface people, but we do not represent one of your earth nations. We picked up your transmission and have come to investigate how it reached the depths of space in such a short time." Beltor bit his lip as he thought, "Well... I assume you know how this happened?"

Is there more than one group of Surface People? More than one world? Please explain. We know not how our message reached you. We were not aware that the technology we Conv-created was capable of reaching past the world.

Beltor stammered as he realized the people he was talking to barely recognized the existance of life above. "Um... I apolagize for the confusion I must be causing. We are indeed from another world... but I assure you our intentions are peaceful. Perhaps the transmission was somehow picked up through hyperspace. Ah well... leave the science to the scientists I have always said. I am sure you will want to contact the surface dwellers, so now that we have this whole mess cleared up, I shall be returning to Eurydice. Unless there is something you wish to discuss... or... you wish to meet face to face."

"I believe a true Eurydian Ambassador should do the formal introduction. Of course our Republic shall keep relations open. It is always nice to meet new and different people. I will depart for home and an ambassador shall come in my stead. Expect him to arrive in no more than two weeks. It was a pleasure meeting you... I never caught your name?"
It cramps my RP haveing no relation with others.
Please, I could contribute to this site if I could participate.
Well, no one lives in Antarctica. Also, everyone is watching to see what alliances you enter into. Let me help you...
A) What is your opinion on elves?
B) How does your government work?
C) You do know that you have to circulate to get your self up, don't you? Don't just keep bumping this thread, look for new ones.

Look at the region I'm in. Reconsider.
A)IC:What are elves? Are they one of the groups of surface people?
B)OOC:*Points at first post*
C)OOC:No contact with outside world=lack of rp opportunities until people reply.
You are limiting yourself, though... well, contact Arani. OOC, mind, and then tell him about your problem. Lots of people live underground, but he's the only one I can think of right now. I can't contact you. Not only does Roania not have a navy out of hydrophobia, but we hate the cold too.
Why not? However, my message did go out to all nations, and really shouldn't be ignored.
True. As for your question...
A) Roanians live on an island, but don't know how to swim.
B) They fear the water so much that big burly men scream like little girls at the sight of the sea.
C) Cold is bad. And my Inquisitors, who are the only people who know how to swim, don't have heating. I'll consider it, though. Still say you should tm Arani.
Right. Maybe you could have some people go through the dwarven tunnels and wind up in my capital, Roan City.
That would have to be a big tunnel network for 7 million people.
Some. Trust me. We just gave up on keeping them away. Pesky little buggers.
Some. Trust me. We just gave up on keeping them away. Pesky little buggers.
What are you talking about?
The dwarves. Trust me, you can fit 7 million people in their tunnels.
How are we gonna get to the dwarf tunnel without rev- with only our primitive tools?
Ask him when he gets on. I have to go now.
