New Players Report

Jimmy O'Clancy
Skeptics have raised concern over the Irish O'Clancy and his placement as defender on the World Cup team; the Football Association put him under a 5 game suspension last season for earning 3 red cards in 4 games. Association President Ben Wright doesn't agree stating "he knows not to foul up his World Cup play."

Wally Kasavin
Kasavin comes from Oglethorpia's Garland FC and has earned acclaim as a talented midfielder. Coach Ray Krusen (also brought on board to lead the WC7 squad) has also jokingly said that Wally has a "hard head" with the number of headers the cheifly-British midfielder takes. We'll be watching this modest-midfielder.

Danny Bolton
Hailing from Tripoli in tropical Southern Oglethorpia, Danny Bolton, star striker of Seabrough United has been called the "next Alfonzo Clay," recently-retired 3-time World Cup-er. We'll see if Bolton lives up to the hype this World Cup.

Spaam World Cup VII Roster

Head Coach: Dan Yatan
Former coach of Artanis United, which is currently the best team in the Spaam National Football League and has made it through to the Champions League. He played for a number of clubs in the Football League (including Artanis United) as a midfielder over a quarter of a century ago.

Assitant Coach: Lehua Hoopai
Former midfielder come striker and veteran of 3 World Cups, including captaining Spaam's Third Place team in World Cup VI, she came onto the coaching staff after retirement. At 30 she is also an incredible beauty, but is not to be underrestimated.

Goal Keeper: Fin Súrion (2)
At 25 this is his second World Cup, and is vice captain of the side. He suffered a knee injury before the end of World Cup VI, and so could not see his team reach 3rd place, and was effectively out for 2 years. He has been making his way back however, playing for Ithran F.C., and was selected partially for his experience in a young side.

Striker: Méla Sëhelin (7)
Her first World Cup, this 19 yr old is proving to be a wild one, with her customary magenta streaks in her short blonde hair. She was picked from Artanis United, and so is used to Yatan's coaching style. Though she is young, she was the Spaam Football League's second top scorer.

Striker: Rohir Dorth (8)
Another 19 yr old newcomer, Rohir was the League's top scorer at Artanis' rival team, Anwarün United. With a darker countenance it is to be seen whether his rival Méla and him can combine to be a dominant force in this World Cup.

Striker: Fin Teinwë (6)
This is 27 yr old Fin's second World Cup and combined well with Hoopai. He will be the steady attacking force in apposition to the two feisty teenagers and also hails from Artanis United.

Forward: Inwë Lossë (3)
24yr old Newcomer Inwë comes from Epiphania and was drafted in a 2 years ago. A utility attacker from Shaw City, she is blossoming in a higher quality Football environment.

Mid/Forward: Darát Ar-Fein (12)
From Ithran F.C., Darát is a 23 yr old newcome to the World Cup.

Midfielder: Amras Tinúviel (1)
Amras is captain of this young side and is a natural born leader after working with Hoopai last World Cup. At 24 yrs, he has a charming personality, and hails from Artanis City.

Midfielder: Decán Elanessë (10)
Also from Shaw City, this is also 26 yr old Decán's second World Cup. He is noted for his long curling black hair, looks to combine well with the rest of the Midfield.

Midfielder: Súri El Sar (14)
Súri comes from Artanis United and is his first World Cup at 25.

Defender: Nessa Ringer (4)
Nessa played a reserve for most of the last World Cup but at 27 is now the national teams lead defender. She usually plays for Anwarün United and is a in-your-face player.

Defender: Tathar Telemnar (5)
Tathar also hails from Anwarün United but is his first World Cup at 23 years. He plays a similar style of defense to Nessa, so their combination could be one to watch.

Defender: Sára Londë (9)
21 year old Sára comes from Camthal F.C. and is her first World Cup.

Defender: Amras Celebri (11)
22 year old Amras comes from Drakken City and is also her first World Cup.

Other players (reserves):
Goalkeeper: J Nuel (19)
Striker: T Fan (18)
Mid/Forward: S Choi (15)
Mid: L Pasier (20)
Defender: L Fania (17)
Defender: V Ringer (16)

Injuries:
Midfielder: Eáma Narmolanya (13)
Eáma comes from Camthal F.C. and is her first World Cup at 22. Needs hip surgery

ARIDDIA

The team.

**** = a player who has been in the team since WC3
*** = a player who has been in the team since WC4
** = a player who has been in the team since WC5
* = a player who has been in the team since WC6

Ariddia's colours:
Home: red top with a black slash going from the left shoulder to the right hip, and the same on the back.
Shorts are entirely black. Socks are red. We have declined to have sponsors mucking up our suits.

Away: the exact reverse. Black top, red slash, red shorts, black socks.

Goalkeeper: Dark green top, with the same black slash. Pale, apple-green shorts. Black socks.

The team has changed very little since the last Cup. The team finally seems to have found its best lineup

in its bid to reach the semi-finals at long last. Quentin Grey considered resigning, claiming he felt
“useless” after not having played at all in World Cup 6, but has opted to stay for now. Under al-Jibai’s
guidance, young forward prodigy Kim Kim has startled the team by beginning training to be a
replacement goalkeeper. And famous forward pair Raphael Ford and Myrtille Dubois were married five
months ago!

Boris Stairs has retired, as has Deter Reeds. Replacing them are Wn Wahd, a tall Wygman man (Native
Ariddian) who so far has kept mostly to himself and mingled very little with his fellow players, and Zach
Pavels, a talented thirty-year-old midfield player who, at just 1m38 in height, is the shortest international
football player ever. The others consider him already well “part of the team”.

GK: David al-Jibai (11)**
DEF: Jean Cerf (4)***, John Ness (13)***, Jon Quinez (16)**, Abel ‘Bloc’ Lenoir (21)*
MID: Ranjit Khan (7, capt)****, Raph Khaled (22)****, Michel Leschamps (14)****, Andrei Karel (15)**
ATT: Raphael Ford (2)***, Myrtille Ford (6)****

Substitutes:
GK: Ludo Kent (1)*, Quentin Grey (23)*
DEF: Samuel Wood (17)**, Zach Treadwell (5)*, Yves Sylvain (9)*, Wn Wahd (20)
MID: Mikael Nyevich (19)**, Samuel Pasteur (8 )*, Luc N’tula (12)*, Zach Pavels (18 )
ATT: Myn Terrell (3)**, Kim Kim (10)*

Raphael Ford
Number: 2
Position: Forward
First joined: World Cup 4

Raphael and his wife Myrtille are now considered by many to be the backbone of the team.

Ford is in his early thirties, his hair colour somewhere between blond and brown. His eyes are green.

Myrtille Ford
Number: 6
Position: Forward
First joined: World Cup 3

Myrtille will again be playing forward with Raphael Ford and leading Ariddia’s attacks.

She is in her early thirties; her skin is a fairly dark brown, and her short-cut hair a deep black.

Ranjit Khan
Number: 7
Position: Mid, Captain
First joined: World Cup 3

Khan, the team’s captain, has proved his proficiency in a variety of abilities, able to press forward attacks
or defend. He’s grown to be a favourite with supporters through his solid good playing, seeming to be
omnipresent in the pitch.

Khan's skin is brown, a slightly paler hue than Dubois'. He's in his mid thirties. He wears startling bright
green eye lenses, and supporters in the stadium can often be seen wearing similar ones.

Kim Kim
Number: 10 Position: Substitute forward
First joined: World Cup 6

Introduced as a new player in the last Cup, Kim proved to be a highly efficient, not to mention
enthusiastic forward player.

At 22 years of age, this small, dark-haired, dark-eyed Oriental girl is the youngest player in the team.

David al-Jibai
Number: 11
Position: Goalkeeper
First joined: World Cup 5

Not yet recognised as close to goalkeeper-legend Boulanger’s level, al-Jibai played well enough in
World Cup 6, and now aims at improving himself through this year’s competition.

al-Jibai is in his late twenties, and is a rather tall, skinny man of Arab origins. He keeps his dark hair
quite long, reaching down to his shoulders. His eyes are brown.

Abel ‘Bloc’ Lenoir
Number: 21
Position: Defender
First joined: World Cup 6

‘Bloc’ Lenoir’s nickname comes from the myth that he lets no attacker past. Though that is an
exageration, he is determined to live up to it.

Lenoir is massively built, 1m98 tall, broad-shouldered, his hair a pale brown, his eyes blue. Some say
he would look more at home on a rugby field than playing football. He’s in his late twenties.

Ralph Khaled
Number: 22
Position: Mid
First joined: World Cup 3

Khaled has proved to be a determined and able attacker, adapting to a variety of situations, and his
general skills are undisputed.

Khaled is in his late thirties, and is mostly of Arab descent. His eyes are so dark as to be almost black,
and his hair is likewise black, cut extremely short. He is the eldest player in the team. He has indicated
this would be his last participation in the Cup.

WEST ARIDDIA

The team colours are still being decided upon, but will no doubt include grey and sky blue, the colours
figuring on the national flag.

GK: Lily Mayantar (1)
DEF: Dave Brown (6); Wes Quale (19); Luc Ruisseau (15); Robert Tall (3)
MID: Kev Schwartzland (13, capt.); Jeremie Vasquez (20); Jean-Yves Martin (7); Ji Vhutaneyon (4)

Bullonien
29-08-2003, 10:57
Gregor Jonsson, coach of the Bullonien WC7 team earlier this morning disclosed the Bullonien WC7 team roster. Critics in Bullonien are already saying the team is too weak on the defens especially with the aggressive lineup that Gregor has envisioned.

Bulloniens starting lineup will be a 3-5-2 configuration and the players are.

Starting lineup
Goalie
Stefan Sjoberg

Defenders
Daniel Folsson
Tor Stalskalle
Roger Fontanell

Midfielders
Per Olsson
David White
Johan Hedemark
Carl Monten
Kristian Madsen

Forwards

Defenders
Jan Magnusson
Magnus Olsson
Rickard Lundgren
Lars Gadda

Midfielders
Karl Karlsson
Anders Steffen
Åke Liljegren
Johan Persson

Forwards

Ulf Hasselberg

--
While the forwards all have been showing great form especially Carl-Henrik, the defenders and midfield look much weaker and many people here in Bullonien had expecterd a 5-4-1 lineup to compensate for the lacking form of the defense the Bulloninan people now only can hope for either a super fast recovery of the defenders or that our beloved goalie Stefan Sjoberg continues his great streak of twelve cup matches without missing one save. Of course those matches were in the National cup of Bullonien, and we can expect competition to be much fiercer here in the World Cup.

This is Fredrik Torsson reporting from the seventh NationStates World Cup, over to the studio.

Tanah Burung
29-08-2003, 15:56
The new and improved Crocodiles are keen to erase the stain on the national honour created by their first-ever failure to qualify for the second round of the World Cup. Only five players remain from WC5, and the average player age is 20. The team will be captained by defender Rosa Bibere. Scoring punch is expected to be delivered by David Cavaco, the top scorer for Tanah Burung in the last two Cups.

Crocodiles starting line-up (club team in brackets, asterik indicates umber of Cups played):
Goal Simon da Gama* (Ukun Rasikan)
Defence Fatmawati Agus Putri* (Coop Ag)
Defence Alex Manupatti (Tiga Burung)
Defence Rosa Bibere** (Lovefest) - captain
Defence Doris Rumbiak (Loro Sae)
Midfield Wim van Esterik* (Black-and-Red Army)
Midfield Cassie da Cruz (Matebian)
Midfield Canabe Livit (Ellery Camp exchange programme)
Midfield Zachary Santos (Matebian)
Striker David Cavaco** (Rubber Tappers)
Striker Yosepha Syahrir (Black-and-Red Army)

The team will be coached by Guntur Ruak, son of the Crocodiles coach in WC2, Matan Ruak.

Tanah Burung will also return to the old kit that saw us to such highs in our WC2 debut: The Crocodiles will wear home strip in our national colours. Red for the blood of the patriots who died to free us from foreign rule. Yellow for the sun that rises in the east, where our land lies kissed by the dawn in which the birds sing so sweetly. Black for the courage and resolve that maintained us in the dark colonial years and that carries us forward still. All descending from a scoop neck in a triangular pattern, if you please, with black shorts to match. Away kit: green tops and black shorts.

Finally, we remind certain teams of the ancient curse: the team that elimates Tanah Burung will face misfortune, eventually. The evidence is as follows:

WC2: Al Quds defeats TB for championship. Ceased to exist.
WC3: Communism & Vodka elimates TB. Ceased to exist.
WC4: Brazillico eliminates TB. Retired from World Cup.
WC5: Europa Britannia eliminates TB. Still alive. For now.
WC6: Lunatic Goofballs defeats TB in final round one match. Come-uppance to follow. Host Lemmitania is punished by being forced to host Cup again.

The Errinundrian team uniform is white with green and brown trim. The alternative uniform is green and yellow.

http://www.nationstates.net/images/flags/uploads/errinundera.jpg

Although the players voted to call themselves the Gorillas for WC6, everything to do with Errinundera always turns out contrary to expectations. They are just as likely to be called the Longfoots or the Bigfoots. No matter, any will do.

WC6 players not in the squad for WC7:
fionar (retired as player; continuing as non-playing coach)
sandrab (retired)
handesydek (retired)
oreadest (dismissed; transferred to Lovefest University, Tanah Burung)
bourkel (retired)
nitense (not selected)
fastigatae (injured)

Coach
fionar (gender: female; club: nil - full-time national coach; age: f*** off) Led the team to the semi-finals of WC6 where she proved herself one of the all time great goalkeepers and coaches. Her charges call her "toe-cutter" following her ruthless dumping of star players after they disgraced themselves at an all night rave. One vey smart cooky who has an innate understanding of how to motivate peope. WC7 comments: With only one loss so far (excluding the forfeit), fionar has proven again that she is a world class coach.

Captain
moschatuma (m, Kanooka Creek, 32, midfielder) Followed up a superb WC5 with a magnificent WC6, winning the leighm medal (for best Errinundrian player in qualifying and cup matches) in WC6 at a canter. The most elegant, skillful and courageous player in the side. The perfect player, in other words. He is a little slower now but still a masterful exponent of the game.

Vice-captain
horstrac (f, Mount Ellery, 30, midfielder / defender) A dinkum Errinundrian contrarian. When she's on song she is a joy to watch. A scientist who studies the potato. True. Proved herself to be a consistent and intelligent defender in both WC5 and WC6. Having yet another strong world cup

Deputy vice-captain
antarcticad (m, Ellery Camp, 27, striker) The most exciting player in the side who can tear open a game with one explosive burst. Loves it when the stakes are high. Said he was born to play in World Cup finals and proved it with some great goals in WC6. Equally noted for his ourtageous hairstyles. Needs more consistent support from the other forwards. Started off like a rocket with 10 goals in the qualifying but has been overshadowed by the other forwards in the Cup matches.

delegatensise (m, Monkeytop, 28, defender) Giant 200 cm defender who has proven to be surprisingly skillful and mobile for his size. Had a consistent WC6 without starring. With horstrac will bring some needed experience to the back half. Has been surprisingly disappointing in WC7.

regnanse (m, Rodger River, 28, goalkeeper) Must be the tallest goalkeeper ever in existence. At 214 cm he even towers over delegatensise. With the retirement of fionar he finally gets his chance to reign in the goalmouth. Frankly, he's not up to her standard. This is a dicey position for Errinundera in WC7. A total revelation. He has proved to be a matchwinner in the goals.

longipesp (f, Rodger River, 27, striker) The much-loved "Potoroo" is wonderfully acrobatic on the field. In WC6 she was second highest goal scorer behind antarcticad. She kicked 8 in the qualifiers but had a disappointing cup, only managing 1 more in the 7 cup matches. Needs to be much more consistent. Her passes to others in scoring positions are uncanny. Having a superlative Cup with 5 goals so far.

adealbata (m, Goonmirk Rocks, 26, midfielder / forward) Consistently skillful forward who managed several sterling performances in WC6, culminating in a memorable game against Quohog in the semi-final. Needs to develop more of a hunger for scoring goals. Is sharing the lead with snapier in the race for the leighm medal - the award for the Errinundrian who has the best World Cup campaign. Is now taking on a midfield leadership role.

melanoxylona (m, McKillops Bridge, 26, midfielder / defender) Another skillful player. He used to be accused of fiddling too much with the ball but in recent years has tightened his game so well that he has become part of the furniture in the national side. Disappointing in WC7. Can do better.

firset (m, Rooty Break, 24, striker) Stunned the football world four years ago by scoring a goal with his first kick in World Cup football. Disappeared totally until he scored the nation's only ever hat trick in the absence of antarcticad in the second first round match. Clearly having a lot to offer, he simply needs to turn his tremendous enthusiasm into goals on a regular basis. Has gone backwardsl from WC6

joyhilla (f, Goongerah, 24, forward) Didn't impress four years ago. Seems to be lost in the shadows of the more exciting strikers. In the domestic competition she is proving herself to be a damaging striker. Let's hope she can step up to the international level this time around. Finally found form and the goals in the latter part of qualifying. It was a stroke of genius by fionar to select her for the Cup matches where she has 5 goals.

rhusband (m, Goongerah, 23, forward / midfielder) Another Goongerah player who is struggling to make the transition from national to international level. Seems to be lost at this level.

scaroline (f, Big Tree Camp, 23, defender) Her selection is something of a gamble. Has all the skills to be a great defender but has never quite put it all together. See comment for rhusband

snapier (f, McKillops Bridge, 22, defender) The unexpected sensation in the back line for Errinundera in WC6 while still only a teenager. Proved herself to have what it takes to perform in the great matches. She has a huge future ahead of her. Living up to her promise with a great cup - sharing the lead with adealbata for the leighm medal.

sedinburgh (m, First Creek Falls, 22, goalkeeper) Errinundera suddenly seems light on for quality goalies since the retirement of fionar. Selected with the future in mind, he has the raw ability but hasn't yet convinced his critics that he deserves his place. Only 2 opportunities so far. Showed promise on the second outing.

brunswickr (m, First Creek Falls, 21, defender) One of three up and coming defenders from the Falls Folk. Like the others, he seems to have been selected for his potential. Still learning

codith (f, Ellery Camp, 20, midfielder / defender) The first player from the Ellery Camp / Findabaya (Tanah Burung) exchange program. Says that visiting Tanah Burung taught her a whole new approach to the game. Must have worked as she has proved to be star player for her domestic team. Showing considerable promise. The word "star" is beginning to be bandied about.

sbrunswick (f, First Creek Falls, 20, defender) The third of the young defenders from First Creek Falls and a cousin of brunswickr. It's been a big risk for the Falls Folk to select them. And an even bigger risk for the national side. Still learning.

pomaderrisa (f, Fanny Moo, 19, defender) Nick-named "Hazel" by her team-mates because she has brown eyes. ??? Football ability? Who knows? Has all the right moves off the field. Beginning to show some real class and has earned regular selection.

sorais (f, McKillops Bridge, 18, forward) One of the gifted young twins that have transferred from the 2nd division team Milosis to McKillops Bridge in controversial circumstances. She's the dark-haired one. That half the 1st division clubs were scrambling for these 2 young women is an indication of the regard they are held in. A couple of sensational games in the qualifiers but is being overlooked for the pressure games.

nyleptha (f, McKillops Bridge, 18, forward) She's the fair twin. They are said to the most exciting combination since antarcticad and oreadest. Don't think for a moment that these twins have special affinity for each other. They just ooze rivalry. See comment about her sister.

It's true, the Lemmitanian broadcasters unabashedly referred to the Errinundrian team as the Longfoots. They thought they remembered reading somewhere that the team had changed names, but they weren't sure, and were too lazy to go reading through all of the Errinundrian press releases to find out.

The Dominion of Nikea National Football Roster
* = denotes starter unless otherwise indicated, % denotes captain

Manager: Resterin Terestel, SF Miserias
Terestel has international experience, having played in the glory days of SF Miserias when the club had broad international success. While the team now is not quite what it used to be, Terestel has the team finishing consistently in the top 5 in his 3-year stint as manager there. Nikea now looks to him to lead the international team to the same glory that he led SF Miserias to when he played.

Team Colours: Standard: Navy Blue shirt, fading into a crimson red which is just visible at the bottom of the shirt, usually barely seen due to the shirt being tucked in. Navy blue shorts and Navy blue socks complete the standard uniform.

If there is a kit conflict, Nikea's alternate jersey's are white with navy blue trim, with white shorts and white socks, with a single navy blue stripe circling the sock near the top.

(Excerpt courtesy of Queldas Hikari (Queldas Star, reporter Markenin Markenel)

The Dominion of Nikea enters its first international football event with a strong squad.

Jeresin Renteritel was the obvious choice for the goalkeeper position. Leading SF Queldas to its 2nd straight league title, he allowed a mere 20 goals in the 40 game season, which is a full 10 goals less than the second placed goalkeeper in that category, Jerin Ostertel of SF Azuras. At 6'5", he is tall, surprisingly quick, therefore being able to cover long distances in a short amount of time.

On defense, the trio of Sereiuene, Entel, and Jentel are three of the top defenders in the Nikean domestic league. All three can frustrate attackers, and are able to clear the backfield of danger with relative ease. Jentel, however, on the right side, is slightly slower than the other two, so Yaskalaitel and possibly Lorstel will have to be in the back more often than usual in order to support him.

Midfield is where this team really shines. With 5 midfielders, all pretty quick, they are able to cover the middle of the field exceptionally well. This forces teams to lob the ball over them, where the backs can quickly control it for a counter-attack or simple clearance. Kerinin Keresiuene is lethal on free kicks from close range.

Up front, the team has a little difficulty. Both Istertel and Irisiuene are lightning quick, like the rest of the team, yet they are young and inexperienced. Finishing is a problem for them. While Istertel was the star forward for league champion SF Queldas, he was seen more of a playmaker rather than a goalscorer. Irisiuene was one of two forwards on SF Miserias, who finished 3rd this season, although his partner up front, Maximilien Montpelier, was the obvious star of that team. Irisiuene has been touted by Miserias and national team manager Resterin Terestel as one of the country's future superstars, so this World Cup experience will prove vital to his development. Both forwards are extremely exciting to watch, however, and certainly give fans their money's worth.

In reserve, the team is also solid. Akimoto Sakai, a Japanese import who has played in Nikea for a good five years, can be brought in midway through the second half to add an offensive punch if needed. Both Mersentel and Kerestitel are good defensive midfielders. Up front, Ichirou Kitase, another Japanese import, can be brought in for more of a defensive forward role. Finally, in the backfield, Istel, Norstel, and Strekiov, a second-generation Nikean whose parents are from Russia, are all quality choices to be brought in.

All in all, Nikea hopes for some success in their first World Cup qualifying appearance. They are a promising squad, and should enjoy a few wins, however, all are in agreement that actually winning the World Cup is a long shot at best.

Overview

It is a pure coincidence that all four backup defenders from WC6 (Fermin, Lee, Justice, Williams) retired at the end of the Cup. As such, the backup defenders are all young and fresh. Starting midfielders Tim King and John Burks also retired, so Lisa Young has been permanently brought back up from the bench, along with Leigh Black, who successfully scored in her only WC6 match. The duo of Lewis and Whitehurst remain at forward, and Olivia Bream is in the goal once more.

WC5 - eliminated in first round (total record: 5-5-3)
WC6 - eliminated in first round (total record: 8-6-5)

Giant Zucchini National Flag on left chest

Starting 11:
Goalkeeper:
1-Oog (Prehistoric F.C.)
One of our most dependable players in the squad. Has incredible reach, has the ability to cover any inch of the goal in one dive. Rarely lets in any goals. Suffers from the occasional lapse of concentration.

Defenders:
2-Aargh (Prehistoric F.C.)
A solid right back who tackles with no fear. Has a danger of getting fouled.

3-Humm (Prehistoric F.C.)
A very solid centre back who will not let anybody past him without a good challenge. Another player who has a danger of getting fouled.

4-Quk (Rentruk Rovers)
A good clearer of the ball who makes runs up the field occasionally. His tackles are not as hard as Humm's or Aargh's, but he has the ability to clear the ball very quickly to the forwards.

5-Thunk (Earl United)
A solid left back with a fierce tackle. Plays the passing game well with Krak and Gung.

Midfielders:
7-Kerrnigit (Marauding F.C.)
A quality right winger who can cross with accuracy, dribble with tight control over the ball, and shoot with a deadly curl. Our default free kick taker.

6-Poom (Marauding F.C.)
A centre midfielder with a good eye for passes. His ball control, although not as good as Kerrnigit, can still thread him past defenders. He also has an accurate shot, but it occasionally lacks power.

8-Krak (Earl United)
A centre midfielder with a good pass. Has great interplay with Gung and Thunk.

9-Gung (Earl United)
A left midfielder who makes the occasional run forward. Exhibits great passing with Krak and Thunk. His shots occasionally lack power.

Forwards:
10-Urk (Marauding F.C.) - Captain
Without doubt our best striker in the team. Has brilliant ball control and a devastating shot. However, his best weapon is his versatility. Can beat the keeper from way out, produce a breathtaking curler around the keeper, or simply dribble into the box and lob the ball over the keeper. Occasionally plagued with injury problems.

11-Phoot (Prehistoric F.C.)
A striker with good ball control and no fear of defenders. Has the ability to dribble the length of the field without losing the ball. Can also finish headers well. However, his shots occasionally lack accuracy and power.

Subs:
12-Zonk (Marauding F.C.) - Forward
A striker who has yet to prove himself. Has passion for the sport, but slightly lacking in ability. Has decent ball control, but his shots lack accuracy and power.

13-Narf (Bill United) - Midfielder
A stable midfielder. Has good passing abilities. However, slightly lacking in fitness.

14-Throck (Prehistoric F.C.) - Defender
A stable defender. Usually subbed on when a more defensive style of play is called for. Has a good tackle and a good clearance.

15-Ppakkaddumm (Wurtherington Wanderers) - Midfielder/Forward
An attack minded midfielder who can also play upfront. Has a decent shot. However, slightly lacking in ball control.

16-Machterstrassefurtermorgannachttunggutsprechenbuchlungweighetvolkshvargenshtickshnoff (Dankeschoen F.C.) - Midfielder
A midfielder with a long name. Known to be able to inject flair into a game. Fairly comfortable over the ball. However, his passes lack accuracy and his shots are weak and inaccurate. Also lacking in fitness.

Reserves:
17-Furtermachtermorgstrasluwecragnavonchelsenntungkshvaghugtihetesprishtengckshnoff (Dankeschoen F.C.) - Forward
Machterstrassefurtermorgannachttunggutsprechenbuchlungweighetvolkshvargenshtickshnoff's compatriate in Dankeschoen F.C.. Has blistering pace and an accurate shot. However, he is low on fitness and ball control, his shots lack power, and he has a dreadful first touch of the ball.

18-Faard (Westinghouse-Armature F.C.) - Defender
Has good fitness, quick pace, strong in the air, and tackles hard. However, has poor control over the ball and a horrible shot. Most importantly, his passes are usually errant, which may provide chances for the opponents.

19-Shtaan (Simoleons United) - Forward
A striker with a wicked shot. Despite its speed and power, his shots are very inaccurate, and he usually ends his season with only about 10% of his shots on target. Has good ball control and passing, but lacks stamina and pace.

20-Plaat (Marauding F.C.) - Goalkeeper
Widely seen as the successor to Oog. Is very alert and anticipates rather well. However, he is rather small and his reach is limited. Prone to committing the occassional slip-up.

21-Xcavabar (Atlantis F.C.) - Forward
Plying his trade in Europa Brittania, this forward is strong testament to the strength of Giant Zucchini. An all out charging type striker, has brilliant speed as well as a great position and finishing sense. However, may be slightly lacking in experience and fitness. His long range shots also lack power.

Head Coach: Mr Hurr
Kaze Progressa
30-08-2003, 09:27
Kaze Progressa final roster:

Goalies: Palera (1), Malrei (17), Tua (22)
Defenders: Jarezza (2), MacKazie (3), Garaz Zarli (4), Uwalan (6), Jaff (7), Eiau (8 ), Wajir (14), Elia (19)
Midfielders: Faurwallara (5), Cebear Zarli (9), Leona (10), Nuqazi (12), Awa (18 ), Furtan (20), Seqazen (21).
Strikers: Sera (11), Irafma (13), Rukazan (15), Pawu (16), Ekazen (23).

The national side is primarily based upon the two main sides in the Progressair League Premier Division, Kaza XTeem and Quorua Lakeside. Quorua's stunning attacking force (led by Irafma, Pawu and attacking midfielder Cebear Zarli) and Kaza XTeem's almost impregnable defense of Jarezza, Jaff and Eiau (and Palera in goal to mop up what gets through) are combined, along with other talented players such as creative, experimental 'super sub' Awa to create a national side that can compete with much more experienced sides on their day. They're not Brazilico, but then Brazilico aren't at WC7.

Manager Evla Tiawal, who quit his post as Quorua Lakeside manager two years ago to manage the national side, says 'this side will be competitive in the future, if not now... Kaze Progressa will definitely be able to qualify for one of the next three World Cups, though this one may come too soon for us... we have a young side, the average age being 24, and I don't see a reason why we can't be internationally competitive in the future with the talent coming through.'

WC7 Line Up

The new World Cup has brought many changes to the team. A few have retired bringing out more of the rising talents in the team. The team also welcomes the new additions from King Mark’s FC in the reserve team, including their coach, Christopher Yorkshin.

Head Coach: Alvin Ker, Head Coach of Chisai’nihon “Samurais” FC
Assistant Coach: David Joel, Head Coach of Natodrid “Royales” FC
Head Advisor: Christopher Yorkshin, Head Coach of King Mark’s FC

Goalkeepers:

#01 Okawa KEINAKA
Chisai'nihon FC

Having been with the National Team since WC4 as a substitute, KEINAKA has worked with his predecessors and has evolved his skills into one with high capability. His presence has made him the rock of the team and where the defenders have failed, you can be sure that most probably he would not.

#12 Stanley MATTHEWS (S)
Natodrid FC

Being only 5-feet tall, it is surprising that MATTHEWS is one of the very best goalkeepers in One Red Dot. His quick reflexes and skills have many times earned him the Golden Hand – a coveted award for the best goalkeeper in One Red Dot.

Defenders:

#07 George ENZER (R)
Natodrid FC

Despite his young age, ENZER is able to perform under many pressurized circumstances. Despite being the only Natodrid defender in the rock hard defence line of Chisai’nihon FC, it has not shielded has ability but in fact spurred him on to be a better player.

#10 Jin KOIZUMI (L)
Chisai’nihon FC

Playing as a substitute since WC6, KOIZUMI has synchronized well with his fellow defenders, and is always there to assist TOKUMOTO in defence.

#14 Nishiban TOKUMOTO (C)
Chisai'nihon FC

TOKUMOTO has been the National Team’s most dependable defender, starting his international career since WC6. His ability to defend and lead the defence line has made him one of the best. However, his over-aggressiveness has made him somewhat prone to fouling.

#24 Dazaki MIGIRAI (S)
Chisai'nihon FC

MIGIRAI has supported the defence line well, off and on the field. On the field, he can be seen zipping around the opponent’s strikers, preventing any forms of further attack by the opponent. Though an excellent player, his stamina and a recent serious ligament injury has forced Head Coach Alvin Ker to keep him on the bench unless necessary.

Midfielders:

#05 Parry RADFORD (C A)
Natodrid FC

Although a striker with his brother Harry RADFORD in NATODRID FC, he works equally well in midfield, and has presented his offense skills well in many matches, assisting many of the strikers and shooting a few goals for the National team as well.

#08 Haru KOYAWA (R D) (Captain)
Chisai’nihon FC

Re-entering the team in WC6 after a minor car accident during the duration of WC5, KOYAWA is back into the team, reinstating his Captain position and continues to bring the team to glory. Although he was supposed to be a striker, the accident has made him somewhat less flexible in his form and has been advised to keep back a little. However, his defensive skills are just as good as any other defender and being in midfield allows him to show some of his former offensive capabilities.

#13 Warren BERING (L D)
Natodrid FC

A strong midfielder on the field, the 7-foot BERING has towered over many of his opponents, striking fear into many of them. His heading capabilities are naturally superb and so far, nobody has stolen his headers (also due to the fact he is really tall). His skills are, of course, on par with KOYAWA and has in fact given KOYAWA much trouble in the Red Dot Royal League and earning him much respect in the team and in the country. Most of his passionate fans also shave of their hair to emulate BERING’s baldhead.

#16 Yutaro MORIKITSU (S)
Chisai’nihon FC

Although being a substitute since WC5, he is still better than most midfielders in the Starting-11. However, his weak stamina has prevented him from lasting the whole 90-minute game and usually enters in the last 30 minutes to finish up what the rest has started.

Strikers:

#03 Terrance STONE (L)
Natodrid FC

If STONE were to be summarized in two words, it would be “Daring” and “Powerful”. His natural ability to shoot well and his aggressiveness has made many shots for the team and also responsible for the many hat tricks in his short career. His amazing stamina also shows in his constant performance throughout the game.

#06 Francis DURSLEY (R)
Natodrid FC

DURSLEY has been one the National team’s most stable player. Although his skills are not as good as most players, he is able to assist many goals and has an excellent kicking accuracy. However, his nervousness sometimes gets the better of him and he fumbles.

#09 Harry RADFORD (R)
Natodrid FC

Playing striker, H. RADFORD has sent many shudders down the opponent’s spine in the Royal League with his brother, P. RADFORD. In the National team, he plays just as well, storming down the front with excellent ball control and accurate shots.

#15 Nagasen HASHIEI (L)
Chisai’nihon FC

The first time in the Starting-11, HASHIEI’s skills have made him one of the very few Chisai’nihon strikers to become national representatives. His skills have been shaky initially but has been doing quite well in WC6 where he was a substitute.

#04 Gary WHITEMAN (S)
Natodrid FC

A substitute since WC6, WHITEMAN skills match those of many players but his accuracy is not much to speak about. He substitutes DURSLEY most of the time when DURSLEY starts to show his flaws.

#20 Komoko GOHARU (S)
Chisai’nihon FC

A new substitute from the reserves’ bench, GOHARU promises much and his talent is much to be said.

Reserves

#02 Darren MAXWELL (King Mark’s FC)

Quohog
02-09-2003, 09:11
Quohog's uniform is a black and forest green horizontally stripped shirt, with black socks, shorts, and shoes. If there is a conflict with the home team's colors, Quohog goes with either all forest green, or all black. Quohog plays with four defenders, four mids, and two strikers. The midfield normally has a cen-forward and a cen-back, but if the team is ahead, they’ll switch to a mid-back R and mid-back L.

After the surprising success in World Cup 6, veterans Sita Singh and Claire Brannick retired. The rest of the team is still here, which means that although the team is still somewhat young, they have experience. After the success of the team in the last Cup, great things are expected of them. Quohog wants to be one of the nations who can claim to be a World Cup Champion. Although the team is largely the same, it remains to be seen how they will do without their two best players. Head Coach Lauren Silko is betting that this team can, and recent matches have shown that she might be right. We’ll do this by the players ages:

1) Gorgidas Nemea (34 years, Captain, mid-L, male) After his success in World Cup VI, the rest of the world has finally taken notice of Nemea. Since the last Cup, he has become Captain of the team, and has taken control of Quohog’s offense. While his game will never be described as flashy, he is utterly dependable. Not the player that anyone would expect heroics of, but one who will put constant pressure on the other team. The team’s play will probably shift to the left of the field with Singh’s retirement and with Nemea taking over the offense. His greatest skill is his ability to make the players around him reach their potential. He knows how to get the best out everyone else, and is perhaps Quohog’s greatest Captain in those regards.

2) Kurt Adenauer (27 years, Captain’s assistant, sweeper, male) Lauren Silko knew that World Cup V would be her last, so she searched out Adenauer as a worthy replacement and had him added to the team as a sub. Her decision has paid off. He’s probably the most athletically gifted member of the team, and he has also become one of the most skilled. I think that it is fair to say that he is the best player in his generation, and might go down as the best of all time in Quohog football history. The defense has become much stronger thanks to his direction, and is perhaps our greatest strength … at least for this Cup.

3) Martine Masseret (25 years, striker-R, female) While her partner in the front got the attention for his name, this young woman got the attention for her skill. While most of the players had great Cups, she was one of the few who rivaled the play of the veterans. Her greatest strength is an ability to read defenses. Although she has fancy footwork for when it is necessary, her speed and complete control over the ball are more often used than anything flashy.

4) Cri Sawyes (24 years, mid-cen-back, male) With the experience of the last four years, Sawyes has developed the style of play which he will probably use for the rest of his playing days. Makes a great pair with Gamble.

5) Andrew Gamble (24 years, mid-cen-forward, male) A great friend of Sawyes, Gamble has a playing style which is almost the same, with the only difference being that he is slightly more offensive minded. When the team is up, he goes back and plays mid-R-back with Sawyes at mid-L-back. Gamble, Sawyes, and Nemea are the returning members of a mid-field which was responsible for much of Quohog’s success in the last Cup. It will be interesting to see how they interact now that Gamble and Sawyes are experienced players.

6) Juan Mysh (23 years, def-L, male) Yet another member of this team selected by Silko who is more than he seems to be. While he would probably be classified as a solid core player, Mysh has proven to be amazingly versatile. Oftentimes, Nemea will allow this youngster to take it up the field and play a support role. It has been debated bringing him up to play a role in the mid-field, but it was decided that Quohog couldn’t afford to lose his skills on defense.

7) Tok Timbu (22 years, def-R, male) Timbu has the height on the team, so he’s often brought up for corners. Coupled with a solid game on defense, Tok is going to be around Quohog’s football world for a long time.

8) Nallab Armant (21 years, striker-L, male) The son of legendary Quohog player Nadir Armant, Nallab is struggling to find his place on the team. While he has shown some glimmers of brilliance, most of his playing has been merely solid. Since his father is who he is, that has created a bit of pressure on the young player to be more than he is right now. However, after having said that, Nallab is a good player, and makes a great partner for Martine on the front line.

9) Victor Philibert (19 years, Goalkeep, male) After his success in the net during the last Cup, culminating in the semi-finals game against Errinundera in which he managed to survive three penalty-kick rounds, no-one doubts his skills despite his age. While more experience will benefit him, this appears to be a solid position for Quohog in the near future as long as he stays healthy.

10) Brianna Laverock (18 years, def-cen, female) Growing up in the same town that produced Claire Brannick had a strong influence on Brianna, and after Claire retired, Brainna was picked to replace her. A very skilled player who is expected to step into the gap left in the defense.

11) Maeve Laverock (16 years, mid-R, female) The younger sister of Brianna was chosen as a long-term investment. When her sister was being reviewed for the National Team, Maeve was noticed as well and Head Coach Silko decided that she had to be drawn in. Although skilled, questions are once again being asked about Silko’s willingness to use such young players. Until her plan backfires on her, she will be allowed to do what she will.

Head Coach Lauren Silko
Assistant Coach Claire Brannick
Goalie Victor Philibert
Def. Tok Timbu R
Def. Juan Mysh L
Def. Brianna Laverock C
Mid. Cri Sawyes C-back
Mid. Maeve Laverock R
Mid. Gorgidas Nemea L-Captain
Mid. Andrew Gamble C-forward
Striker Martine Masseret R
Striker Nallab Armant L

So, the team is very similar to the team in the last Cup. Expectations are high with the team being ranked number 1 in the world. This team probably has the talent to go all the way, but only time will tell.
Kingsford

The Kingsford National
New And Improved!

Coaches
H – Dan Halls (No Club) ****
Dan has been the coach of the world cup team since it's existance in World Cup 3. He looks to lead the team even farther than he did in World Cup 6.

A – Renson Davis (Byrana FC)
Renson has lead Byrana FC to 7 UNT titles, 5 Uppaermunn Orders, 1 Empire of Power championship, and 1 Marovich Cup. Now, he plans to add a World Cup to his trophy wall by bringing his positive, enthusiastic coaching style to the offense.

A – Tens Walker (Gaerumm FC) ***
Tens became assistant coach and defensive coach in World Cup 7, when two assistants were added to assist Dan Halls. Not much is known about Tens, he's as elusive at Gaerumm as he is for the Kingsford National, but what he does seems to work, given that Gaerumm has the best D in the country, and two of the four defenders play under Tens.

Starting Lineup
G – John Thompson (1) (Byrana FC) **
Thompson first was on the squad in World Cup 5, where he played backup for Ty Flyer. Unfortunately, that year Kingsford's rank dropped from 21 to 51, and Ty was fired, while John took his place. John works extremely well under pressure, having 3 of his 5 national championships be shutouts, and 6 of the 7 UNTs as well, along with the Marovich Cup against the Oglethorpia City Admirals. John doesn't carry much experience internationally, but providing he led Kingsford from 51 to 11 in WC6, it seems that he plays well on all levels.

D – Arwen Nova (99) (Kingsford City) ****
Arwen Nova has played football for Kingsford City since he was 21. Now, at the age of 39, Nova has played in all Kingsford World Cups, and has led Kingsford City to 2 NSCL championships and 1 national championship, as well as to the Marovich Cup semifinals, where they lost to Byrana FC. The best defender in Kingsford, and most likely the best Defender in FIFA.

D – Forte DeLago (9) (Gaerumm FC) *
DeLago first had a position playing World Cup soccer in WC6, when the cup came to Kingsford for a while. He was part of Balta's Project 44, on Gaerumm FC, and performed so well, he was asked to join the Worlc Cup team, where he made some significant plays in the group round of WC6.

D – John Raver (81) (Gaerumm FC) ***
Raver will spend his first year starting this year. He spent 2 years sitting on the bench, clocking a total of 22 minutes of play, all in qualifying. Assistant Coach walker promoted him for this season.

M – Tevir Yaeln (38 ) (Northern City) ****
Tevir is one of those guys who only makes public appearances when he's on a football field in a uniform facing an opposing team. Not much is known about him, but he gets the job done.

M – Winn Easton (12) (Byrana FC) ****
Easton was the first player picked for the Kingsford world cup team. He had a crystal clean injury record, up until the Marovich cup, where the Og City keeper kicked it, and it soared straight into his back and bounced high, landing in the goal. Quite the spectacle. To this day, that is his only goal.

M – Xavier Neveau (10) (Toryo Wolfpack) **
Xavier Neveau was captain of the Wave (now the Wolfpack, due to the flood that occured last year), and was invited onto the World Cup team in WC5, of which he was captain of, up until this cup. He stepped down from Captain, after asked, due to the complete redesign of the Team.

M – Wade Adrian (8 ) (Alotion FC) ****
This is Wade's first year as a starter. He spent the last 4 cups warming the bench, clocking a total of 4 games and 33 minutes in his international career.

F – Sam Young (14) (Arms United) *
Sam Young is the youngest player on the Kingsford National, at the age of only 17. he left highschool before his Sophomore year to play for Arms United, and has started there ever since.

F – Desypar (00) (Arms United)
Desypar is the major new addition for the Kingsford National. He previously spent his time being the video analyst for the World Cup team, as well as the current player/coach for Arms United. This year, he was invited on the team, and leads the Kingsford National in goal scoring. A true star.

F – Carl Strong (2) (God's Finger) ****
Another World Cup Veteran, Carl Strong was selected for the Kingsford National by Dan Halls. He's been traded to 5 different club teams during his World Cup Career.
