Tough first round matches for the WNA represenitives but I'm sure they will shine and do our nation proud

Gilbert is a darkhorse in this tournament. He went through our qualifying school without dropping a set and also won the Morgantech Tennis masters by beating Brett Meyers in the final

Meyers is the showstopper of our team, he'll pull out the flashy shots and will always be there with a chance at the end. He went through qualifying after beating Dan "BootyDaddy" Disaster in an epic five setter.

On the Women's side we have the #15 seed Tatiana Ice. She breezed through qualifying but actually lost the Morgantech Masters final to Kerrie Bombshell. An ice cold competitor with nerves of steel. Tatiana's power game will be a handful for the woman to handle

Kerrie Bombshell is WNA's #1 ranked woman after winning the Morgantech Masters. Combining a great tennis game with stunningly good looks this 20 year old is always in high demand. She got through qualifying beating Melissa Lucha in two tie break sets in our final qualifying match. Whist her first round is tough with Darlow her opponent we have confidence that she will provide all the fans some quality entertainment

We wish all competitors good luck and hope that one of our respresentitives will return home to WNA the champion

Day 1 of the North Pacific tennis tournament was held today and our WNA Representatives did our nation proud

First on court was Brett Meyers with a tough first round match against mens #15 seed Andy Rodalick from Backspace. Meyers came out firing in the first set breezing through it 6-2. Rodalick is a top player however and he came firing back as both men fought an epic second set eventually won by the #15 seed 9-7. If Rodalick thought that would cause Meyers to drop off thought he was sadly mistaken as Meyers gained an early break in the third and held it all the way through to win it 6-3. Rodalick was desperate now pulling out all the stops to try and get back into the match but Meyers stood tall, breaking Rodalick in the 9th game of the 4th set and serving it out to cause a huge upset and advance to round 2

Also on court on day 1 was Women's number 15 seed Tatiana Ice as she took on Sophia Roberts of Trevorland. In the first set it seemed the WNA representative was in over her head as nerves lead to a number of unforced errors allowing Roberts to breeze through the first set 6-1. The next set was the complete opposite as Ice settled into her power game blasting Roberts away and winning the set 6-2 to tie things up at a set apiece. Ice was on a roll now and would not be denied, Roberts having no answer whatsoever to Ice's powerful groundstrokes. Ice going on to claim the 4rd set and the match 6-1 and move into Round 2.

Day 2 of the North Pacific Tennis Masters saw WNA's #1 ranked Woman on court as Kerrie Bombshell took on #12 seed Penny Darlow from BB3. The opening set was a tight one as both players felt each other out and got rid of their nerves. Bombshell settled first though and took the first set 6-4 as Darlow gave away the set on a double fault.
The second set was all Bombshells as Darlow stopped the fan favorite winning it in a canter 6-1 to advance to round 2

The Quarter Finals of the Noth Pacific Tennis Tournament have arrived and two of our WNA Representitves have made it through

First Brett Meyers who will play #7 Damon Greer in a tough match but Meyers is a fighter, he showed that in the 2nd round again Damon Fitzpatrick winning that match in 4 sets. Graf is very accomplished but Meyers will go into this match full of confidence

The other quarter finalist for WNA is #1 ranked woman Kerrie Bombshell after a classic match against #4 seed Kristine Tomatson. She'll take on Tina Pederson in the Quarters in a very winnable match.

A great day for the young Republic of WNA here on Quarter Finals day at the North Pacific Tennis Matsters with Both respresentaives getting through

First up was Brett Meyers who went up against #7 seed Damon Greer but if Meyers was nervous he didn't show it, breaking Greer twice to take the first set 6-2. The second set was the complete opposite as Greer knuckled down to the task, breezing through it 6-2 to level things up at a set apiece. Momentum shifted again in the 3rd set as Meyers dominated, wiping Greer off the court 6-1 to take the all important set. Greer wasn't finished though and the two combatants waged war in a epic final set, Meyers going home the better to take it 8-6 and book his spot in the semi finals against #11 Michael Morrisey

In the Women's. Kerrie Bombshell advanced to the semis with a hard fought win over Tina Pedersen. The first set was close but a late break for the WNA girl got her the first set 6-3 and she looked on the road to victory. Perdersen fought back though in the second breaking early and holding on to win it 6-4 to level things up. A epic final set was fought as both girls looked for the all important break, in the end it would fall the way of Bombshell and she took out the set 6-4 to book a place in the semis against #16 seed Rosemary Kelley

Semi Final day. The sun was shining but unfortunately for Brett Meyers it was not shining on him. He went down in a game four set showing to #11 seed Michael Morrisey

But the big news for WNA is that their #1 ranked women and the fans favorite Kerrie Bombshell booked a place in the women's final in her first major tournament. She fought back from a set down to over come #16 seed Rosemary Kelley 1-6 6-3 6-3 to advance to the final

The news has rocked the North Pacific. The young nation of WNA has made its mark on the sporting stage with two representatives making the semis and one overcoming all odds to make the final.

But now on Finals day Bombshell faces her toughest challenge in #1 seed Elizabeth Cole who wiped Linda Kneutsen off the court 6-1 6-2 and looks so much like the winner here. That means Bombshell has nothing to lose and we hope that she can show the North Pacific region a great Women's final

"This is indeed a sad day for Gradenk's sport ", said Director for National Sports Center

His comment came after the humiliating defeat of gradenk's players who were national champions.

There is bound to be repercussions back home. The director is looking into stripping the players pension plan by more than 1/2 if they do not buck up.

On another note. GRadenk's Sports Corp is looking forward for the close match between WNA and Kimmi's players. They would award USD 500k to the winner and USD 250k for the First Runner UP.

bwahahaha..
You can put me into stitches Nastic..

but seriously..when you used the random generator to tabulate the results, I was out in the first round itself in the previous encounter. So if I'm lucky I should progress further than that ....but I don't think it would be past final round..but if I do...well....I'll increase the price money for every round except the final. If the final winner is someone else then I'll increase the price to twice its original value.

hm...That should set thing out right.

We are quite happy about the success of Niels and Sergei, they have been training very hard for this tournament.
It seems that Serena Vanessa-Martina-Bohr suffered a bad knee, pulled abdomen and just got tired. We are happy that she put in such a good effort under the adverse circumstances.
Sue is quite distraught, but we were able to cheer her/him up with adequate desserts of pizza and blueberry pie, kindly donated by the master chefs of Ozworld.

A new Champion is served: Jean Paul Dupree wins The Mens NORTH PACIFIC Open.

By Antony Beevor

Three points away from his first NORTH PACIFIC title, Jean Paul Dupree stepped to the baseline, crouched, sprang up like a jack-in-the-box and smacked the ball.

The result: Ace. Next point: Ace. Again: Ace.

It was a fitting end to an awesome serving display. And there couldn't have been a more fitting successor to Kenji Oyamada as The NORTH PACIFIC Open champion.

With 23 aces, strong baseline play and a veteran's composure, Dupree beat Hiroto Majima 6-3,6-4,3-6,4-6,6-3 on Tuesday, a breakthrough victory that very well could be followed by a series of major triumphs.

"I can't imagine my name and 'NORTH PACIFIC Open champion' together. It's more than I could ever dream of,'' Dupree said. "I came to this tournament so many times as a little kid and watched from way up there.''

After Dupree's final too-fast-to-see serve his 128th ace of the tournament, he curled into a ball, covering his eyes as they welled with tears. Then he waded through the courtside photographers' pit and climbed into the stands for a frenzied series of hugs with his girlfriend, his parents, his brothers and a couple of friends who drove hours to cheer on their buddy.

Dupree rises to a career-best No.1 in the rankings,"I'm baffled by how calm I felt out there and how easy it was,'' Dupree said. "I almost didn't feel anything out there.''

Perhaps most impressive was his ability to hang in there on long rallies with Majima a consummate baseliner who beat Greer relatively easily in the semifinals. In contrast, Dupree's biggest test came in Monday's semis, where he trailed 2-0 in sets and faced a match point before beating Dan Beale in the semi-final.

Majima was out on a practice court in the shadow of the stadium 2 hours before the final's start, getting some last-chance work on returning serves. To replicate the power winner produces, Dupree's coach told his hitting partner to move up about 3 feet inside the baseline to serve.

During his warmup, meanwhile, Dupree loosened up by using his racket as though it were a baseball bat, taking cuts with a two-handed backhand and trying to hit balls over the fence. A bemused Hiroto Majima looked on, sipping an energy drink.

Once the action began for real, Majima was often reduced to bystander.

It wasn't just that Dupree smacked serves that would be fined for speeding on a European highway. He also has mastered the art of placement.

"Today I didn't play my best tennis,'' Majima said, "but Dupree played so good, and he served unbelievable, and I couldn't do much.''

Majima did look out of sorts at times, including when he forgot he had to switch sides of the court after the opening game of the second set. He wasn't moving his feet well, and that's one of the keys to his game,He earned his nickname "The Wasp'' for the way he zips around the court.

On the opening point of the tiebreaker, Majima used a flat-out dive to his left for a stinging backhand volley. But as he was rising and gathering himself, Dupree spun a forehand passing winner.

Majima then hit a brilliant winner, running so far he ended up against the stands, and a Dupree error made it 2-1 for Majima. But Dupree reeled off six straight points to take the set, ending it with a crosscourt forehand winner that Majima simply gave up on.

Dupree never was broken, though he actually faced a break point in the third game of the afternoon. He saved it with a 135 mph serve that drew a long return. Dupree then picked up the only break of the first two sets in the very next game.

He got to break point when his backhand return clipped the net and landed deep, forcing an awkward forehand by Majima that landed wide. And Dupree took a 3-1 lead with a crosscourt forehand winner to the corner.

Dupree lost the second point of the ensuing game, then began a run of 23 straight points on his serve. That included the final game of the first set, which Dupree won this way: forehand winner down the line, 139 mph service winner, 141 mph ace, and 131 mph ace.

He didn't celebrate, though. He just calmly walked to his seat while the partisan crowd gave him a standing ovation.

"I'm baffled by how calm I felt out there. How easy it was,'' Dupree said. "I almost didn't feel anything.''

Resilient Elizabeth Cole wins The NORTH PACIFIC Open tennis tournament.

By Antony Beevor

Trying to get some precious sleep in the hours before her 2ND NORTH PACIFIC Open final, Elizabeth Cole kept tossing and turning.
She couldn't stop thinking about her semi-final victory, a three-hour battle of wills that left her physically and mentally drained.

And she couldn't stop worrying about how she would feel back out on court.
Would she fail to recover in time?

Showing remarkable resiliency, Cole produced all the right shots and beat fellow Kimmi national Rosemary Kelley 3-6,7-5, 6-1 Tuesday night to win the NORTH PACIFIC Open for her second major title in two years.

"I didn't know if I was going to be able to compete and fight 100 percent. It's hard when you have to play a final when you have only 20 hours to recover from a really hard semi-final,'' Elizabeth Cole said.

"I've always had a lot of character. I always have been a big fighter.''

She fought off two set points in the third set against the No. 3-ranked Kelley, which must have felt like a minor nuisance compared to what Cole went through to beat Kitami Ishihama in three sets the night before. In that match, Cole was within two points of losing 10 times, trailed 5-3 in the second set and 5-2 in the third, and Ishihama twice served for the match.

"Elizabeth had an answer for a lot of my shots,'' said Kelley, now 0-3 Against Cole, including a loss to Cole in the Kimmi Qualifing Open in Kimmi. ``She was just too good, especially after playing that great match against Ishihama last night -- the best match I've seen all year.''

Against Kelley, Cole won nine of the last 10 games and broke serve six times, including in the last game, which ended with a clean volley winner. It helped that Kelley was tentative all night, with 30 unforced errors in the first set alone and a total of 40, twice as many as Cole.

Still, she isn't exactly a household name in Gradenk : A representative of the main tournament sponsor called her ``Ellen'' while presenting the champion's trophy and the cheque during the on-court postmatch ceremony.

For large stretches, the level of play Tuesday night was less than stellar, with a slew of break points (16), double-faults (six) and poorly played groundstrokes.

If Cole, who's 21, wasn't in peak form, she had a pretty good excuse.

She left the Span National Tennis Center at 2:40 a.m. Monday, two hours after finishing against Ishihama. Cole needed intravenous fluids for dehydration that made her left leg cramp late in that match.

Late Tuesday afternoon, she was on a practice court, trying to gauge whether she was fit enough to play.

"Last night, when I got off the court, I didn't know what to expect because I was feeling so bad. The doctors and trainers took care of me,'' Cole said.

"I was feeling tired, a lot of fatigue, and I didn't know if I was going to be able to compete and fight 100 percent. This morning, when I woke up, I knew I was going to play, but I needed more time to see how I felt.''

Normally, she would have had more time to prepare for the final, but the women's semi-finals were pushed back a day to Monday night because of the rain that disrupted the tournament schedule.

So she took her time between serves against Kelley, bouncing the ball a few extra times to buy some seconds to rest. But she had plenty of adrenaline.

Cole pretty much sealed the title by breaking to 3-0 in the second set with a full-sprint backhand lob that curled over Kelley . Cole kept jogging and raised a fist in the direction of the guest box, where her family, her coach and her personal trainer were sitting.

"I admit I was scared for her last night,'' Her mum said. "I didn't know whether she could come out and do it today.''

She and Kelley are building quite a rivalry, which is rather impressive given that they grew up 15 miles apart in a nation of 1.376 billion people. They have known each other since they were kids.

Kelley had questioned whether the medical help was really necessary, and Cole said after the Ishihama match that's why she didn't request a trainer even though she was cramping.

On Tuesday night, Kelley was more gracious.

"It's great that she can recover that quickly,'' she said. "That just shows how good of an athlete she is, and how much she's worked on her strength and endurance.''

Cole jumped out to a 3-0 lead by winning 12 of the first 15 points, thanks to Kelleys nine unforced errors in that span. But Kelley eventually went ahead 5-4, then had the two set points. But she couldn't convert either, stymied in part by Cole's first clean winner off her backhand

That began a run of seven consecutive games for Cole, who used a great return to set up a backhand down the line to break to 6-5, then held to win the first set when Kelley put a forehand in the net.

Kelley never recovered.

Jurai-helm would like to extend a cordial welcome to all the teams competing in the third official NORTH PACIFIC Open Tennis Tournament. We hope to see some exciting match-ups this time, as old rivals meet again, and every nation vies for the title.

The Celestial Dynasty of Jurai-helm is proud to unveil its brand new sports arena for this most auspicious event. The arena is complete with an Olympic-style track, a field for other track & field events as well as football and soccer games, and of course, several top-quality tennis courts especially designed for hosting this very tournament.

The fans of Jurai-helm are quite excited indeed, as all-time favorite Hiroto Majima will again be competing this year. Majima won the first men's tournament, and came in a close second place last time. The fans are eager to see his performance this year, as he has been practicing almost non-stop in the new stadium to reclaim the title.
