Ministry of Economics Passes Economic Sustainability Aid Package, Earmarks 25% of SBC Holdings for Foreign Aid.

The Ministry of Economics has approved the MoP's proposed 10 year plan, which designates a quarter of the total SBC holdings to go to foreign governments and investments. This is the first significant move by the new administration, whose actions so far have escaped wide spread notice.

The ESA package is, according to the MoP, designed to allow nations to make sustainable economic decisions by eliminating scarcity in the investment market. Compaines within DNC memberstates can now be subsidized, allowing them to remain profitbale while planning for future growth and economies of scale. The aid package sets aside 300BWD over 10 years to go to the DNAC, with another 200BWD over five years to be dispersed directly to governments and companines in need of capital investment. The DNAC will be in full control of their funds effective immediately, while the MoP will release criteria to qualify for the direct aid available from SeOCC. The MoP has sworn that these are donations, not loans, and there are no string attached at all. 'The 300 billion is out of our hands,' said spokesperson Fiona Pearl, 'the DNAC didn't ask for this money and we're not asking anything in return. The remaining money will go to nations fulfilling requirements to be revealed in the future, but I can say that it will involve guaranteeing certain necessities to workers, such as a living wage, and that the money will remain in DNC nations.'

DNC governments were unavailable for comment.

Volunteer Army Spokesperson Appears on Heliotis Television, Calls for Attacks Against Svea Riga.

An unidentified man, claiming to speak for the Volunteer Army, appeared on Heliotis television today via streaming video sent through the Data Havens. The man wore the uniform used by the Volunteers and did not obscure his face, leaving MSA authorities scrambling to piece together his identity.

Long ago our nation declared itself not against capitalism but for humanity, we put ourselves in the path of those who would do harm to other human beings. How far we have fallen. We sit idly by as our ally, Svea Riga, crushes their people under an iron fist, enforcing a police state, and for what? The oligarchy of monarchy and plutocracy. Svea Riga is as anti-capitalist as the Elven Fascists, and now they hunt us openly because we seek to become the fist of justice against their tyranny. Now is not the time to back down, we must redouble our efforts and never forget those people and beleifs we fight for. This despot and his executioners will be put down and these people will be freed.

Concerns rose today regarding the possible implications if the VA undertakes an over offensive against the Rigan government, especially surrounding the MSA's continued refusal to arrest VA members at home. Despite the International Criminal Conspiracy statute actual arrests have remained almost non-existent, and the presence of the VA in Heliotis seems to have confirmed fears that drugs are also being smuggled out of the quite libertarian municipalities there.

Retraction: Our reporters erred when stating the body the 300BWD donation would go to; the MoP has informed us the money will go to the DNCIMF, not the DNAC. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Tanah Burung welcomes new economic sustainability package

UKUN RASIKAN (PTBI) -- Confidence soared among economic planners with the news that SeOCC would be making a massive gift to the Developing Nations International Monetary Fund. 300-billion World Dollars are valued at the equivalent of $600-billion (US). An additional grants fund brings the total to 500-billion World Dollars ($1-trillion US).

"This large infusion of capital will make all the difference in the world," said Simon Latuhary of the Tanah Burung Agriculture Cooperatives Central Fund. "No longer will be be forced to scrimp for investment. Now, developing countries will be able to draw on this fund and cut the strings of dependence on foreign investors. At last, self-reliance and growth will both be possible."

The Developing Nations IMF was established at a conference of developing countries held at Golden Agate. It is controlled by a board of seven countries that attended that summit. (ooc: more info at http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=56073)

"The generosity of SeOCC is staggering, especially since we know that their assistance comes with no strings of any kind," said Dr. Rosa Almeida, people's representative for economics & cooperatives. "We congratulate the new administration for beginning their time in office by blazing a path for global justice and equality."
