We can reserve your league, but not your club. You may post your league table or qualified clubs after WC6, or when many people start posting league tables or who qualified (which is after WC6). In addition, every club hosts their home games - the Champions League works in a home-away system. Anyway, more information added:

Countries who have participated in the previous Champions League can reserve 1-3 places. Newcomers can reserve 1-2 places.

"Major Praetorian Rome Soccer League(MPRS)"

We want to reserve two spots, Since the Praetorian Rome Spartans and Praetari Gladiators are the only two teams dominant in the League right now. However, After WC6 We will post who made it.

Quotes from spouth's regular column in the McKillops Bridge Herald Sun

SPOUTH'S MOUTH

Has Errinundera qualified for WC6 or not? This is pathetic. Here we are on the eve of WC6 and we still don't know which are the last six teams to qualify. What sort of organization makes up the rules as they go along?...

... Well done to Ellery Camp for retaining the title they won last year. This time it was done in a canter. They ended with a ten point margin over their nearest rivals, McKillops Bridge, who seem forever destined to be the bridesmaids of the competition. Mount Ellery has finished third and will replace First Creek Falls in the NationStates Championship trophy...

... Wulgulmerang, Bola Mine and Coast Range have deservedly copped it in the neck. They will be replaced for next season with the resurrected Goolengook and Sassafras Gully along with newbies Cobb Hill. Not that it makes any difference to the top teams in division one...

... The biggest transfer news is that joyhilla has got fed up after just one year at Mount Ellery and is returning to her former teammates at Goongerah. Come on. Just grow up and make up your mind...

... My predictions for the coming season. The Ellery Camp Dictatorship is about to end. With a couple of exceptions such as antarcticad this team is beginning to show its age. I predict a slump next season. McKillops bridge has been doing some astute recruiting the last couple of years. The signing of youngsters sorais and nyleptha is already proving to be coup, being voted this week recruit of the year and runner-up respectively. McKillops Bridge to take the title finally with First Creek Falls making a comeback after the mass retirement of ageing players at the start of last season and Rooty Break to be the long shot...

See ya next week.

Despite the dismal performance of last year's League champion, the Liga Sepak Bola (football league) would like to request two spots in the next Champions' League.

Under a new policy, national team players will no longer be reserved for play with the naitonals only, but will be released bertween international competitions for domestic league play. (Some of the top players are hoping for more lucrative offers in other countries, however.) Hopefully this will improve the quality of play and make domestic club teams competitive internationally.
07-08-2003, 02:44
Timway will send it's top three teams from it's A league to participate in this year's Champions League. Athletics East, a quarterfinalist in last year's champion's cup, looks like a favorite to qualify again as they are currently leading the league with six games to play. Current tables:

Team G W D L F A GD PTS
Athletics East 24 17 4 3 73 31 +42 55
Bayou Breakers 24 12 6 6 61 37 +24 42
Timopolis F.C. 24 11 7 6 63 45 +18 40
Castleburg Royals 24 11 6 7 59 44 +15 39
Machesney Park 24 10 7 7 50 46 +4 37

All other teams would need a miracle to move into the top three, while the final two qualifiers are very much up in the air at the moment. Updates to come closer to the start of the league.

You actually reserve your league and post your league table or your qualified teams after you league is "over". Usually, that's after I submit my league table. However, if you would not be around, you can always post you teams in advance. I will reserve one spot for your league for now. (To everyone: Please note that the competition will not start until after WC6 is over, just like real life, where domestic leagues stop when the World Cup is on.)

Athletics East ran away with the league again to the tune of 21-5-4, for a total of 67 points and a 12 point victory over second place Timopolis F.C., who finished with 55 points. Bayou Breakers snuck in for third, beating out Machesney Park on a tiebreaker broken by goal differential. Bayou Breakers finished with 53 points.

"Our main story tonight on Europa-Sport is one of transfer speculation. The Domestic season is progressing, and the Transfer window still firmly shut for the present. However rumours are quelling that the board of directors at FC Atlantis as well as the Manager are growing impatient with the team's current strikeforce.

Known as one of the mightest financial powers in World Football, Atlantis have often been reffered to as a buisness that happens to play football on the sides, their tremendous profits through shirt sales, merchandise and sponsorships raking in millions of Euros a year. However their performance on the pitch as been less than stellar.

In recent years, the terrible football sin of stagnation has crept into New Providence Park, with the team left unimproved for nearly two seasons. This was never more painfully obvious than the loss of the Primera A Division Title to bitter rivals Khandrias two seasons ago. Though they managed to regain that honour last season and manage a respectful fourth place finishing for the NSCL their lack of new blood is proving crippling.

The sale of youth rank produced Brittanian Internationl Sensation Andrew Zurich perhaps enraged Atlantis Fans more than anything else. Not even a treble league sweep of the League title, the Brittanian Cup & the Londrias Shield could compare-

They had lost one of the greatest players the club had ever seen to a bitter Champions league rival.

sold for nearly four million Euros, the fee seemed tiny in relation to his worth, it was soon revealed that the team manager had seriously underestimated the ability of the Young man, and soon came to regret the sale

It is now that rumours abound. The Giant Zuchinni centre forward Urk is on the front page of every football magazine weekly. He has formed a prolific partnership with Andrew Zurich, it now seems that Atlantis have turned their incredible financial eye on him.

Already rumours are abounding that Atlantis will offer Marauding FC a massive sum of money. Figures in excess of Forty Million Euros have been quoted, in addition to bonuses and additional payments.

Such an incredible amount would break every transfer record set so far easily, but many are asking wether it is worth the cost to the club

Atlantis seems to think so, and with an incredible 40,000,000 euro offer seemingly about to be tabled, is it resistable?

NEWSFLASH:

Transfer news now, and Marauding F.C.'s signature forward Urk has been offered a massive sum of money to join none other than bitter rivals Atlantis F.C.. Marauding Chairman Baart Aarnd commented, "He does not want to go. He's happy staying here winning trophys and playing good football. We are in talks with Atlantis however, and we may strike another deal that may be beneficial to both parties." Perhaps he may be talking about a lower priced deal involving the rising talent Zonk, or even Poom, who has officially transferred from Wurtherington Wanderers. Meanwhile, Marauding is still in the search for a good midfielder to partner Kerrnigit, so Mr Aarnd may be looking for the money, or even a swap of players from the two clubs. We can only wait and see.

Also in transfer news...

Quorua Lakeside are rumoured to have approached Opium City Rovers with multi-million-kak bids for as yet unknown players, believed to include a striker. The manager, Aearan Mabol, has not confirmed or denied the rumours, saying merely that he is looking for a new striker.
Europa Brittania
11-08-2003, 23:12
Mystery is now partnered by intrigue at New Providence Park this evening. Representitives of Marauding met with Atlantis officials this afternoon, though either side refused to comment. However insiders have speculated that they have tabled a sixty million Euro offer for urk, and the free transfer of Roberte Lhitomer, Brittanian left sided Midfielder who is known for his incredible ball skills. Though no one was avalible for comment, it is understood that the Sixty million fee would be a complete payment- incredibly none of it would be dependant on performances or installments. Though a player exchange or other sale may still be on the cards, a Sixty million Euro offer and the free transfer of a Brittanian International may be hard to refuse.

More news as we have it.

NEWSFLASH:

The Urk transfer saga gets bigger, with Atlantis showing the money to the already filthy rich Marauding. Atlantis seems set for Urk and nothing less, while Marauding seems to offering more and more alternatives. This time, in response to a blinding 60 million Euro offer for Urk, Marauding counters with a Zonk and/or Poom loan along with 30 million zucchinis (US$35 million) for a Lhitomer transfer. At this point, this deal may or may not be completed by the closing of the transfer window. Will this saga end in disappointment for both?

Transfer news more rampant as Marauding may have finally turned their backs on Atlantis with a bid for Pablo Sergio Ghofers' Gary Henderson for 30 million zucchinis (38 million pounds). In addition to keeping Zonk and Urk, this transfer may build up Marauding's attacking midfield style. Marauding Chairman Baart Aarnd, "We immediately placed a bid for him once he was placed on the transfer market. He has been consistant and we feel his style of play fits in very well with ours. We look forward to landing his signature."

If this does happen then LE, TB, Terranos and One Red Dot, myself, would be able to join. just adding 8 teams wouldn't hurt would it?

Transfer Shock At New Providence

Fans of FC Atlantis were today fuming at news of the official transfer listing of Veteran International Shot Stopper Rusel Cannon. An official press conference cited only "closed reasons" for the move, but already it had attracted scathing criticism from the legions of fans, as widespread as the Province is wide.

Cannon, now almost 33 and a veteran of Four World Cup Campaigns is widely regarded as the finest Defender to grace The International scene in quite some time.

Though age is now catching up on the quiet figure, he is still a formidable footballer, and despite a rather bad WC V campaign that tarnished his reputation, he had recovered well, and was instrumental in FC Atlantis's latest Title push.

Both Cannon and his agent were unavalible for comment, and more news is expected tomorrow.

True true.

And as for hosts... if we mean the number-crunchers, I'll help do that, and if we mean where the matches are held, then that's not applicable for the CL (in the real CL, the group stages are home and away, then there's the two-legged knockout up to the semis, and only the final is held on a neutral ground).

NEWSFLASH:

After a nail-biting final day decider, Marauding F.C. walk away champions again, just piping Prehistoric F.C. to regain the title. Maruading capped off their triumphant season with a 3:1 win over Sashweight F.C., with Urk scoring a brace and Kerrnigit curling a free kick into the far corner. Meanwhile Prehistoric thumped Wurtherington Wanderers 3:0 to finish second, Phoot scoring twice and McHilton with a brilliant free kick from far out. Marauding and Prehistoric book their places in the Champions League again, while Dankeschoen slips into the third qualifying spot. the Domestic Brittanian league ended last saturday after yet another close run affair. Both Khandrias United and FC Atlantis pushed it to the wire this season, however it proved once again just how crucial the "Derby" matches between the two are, with Khandrias soundly defeating Atlantis in all but one of the fiercely contested matches.

Once again Atlantis lose their grip on the championship to bitter rivals Khandrias, however they secure champions league football with a large lead over shadow contenders Dhurias Athletic.

Elsewhere suprise for Junon Rangers, who spiralled towards the spectre of relegation from a NSFA Cup place only a season ago. Athletico Viper finish strongly within midtable for the fourth season running, and Western United make a big improvement on last season's finish.

at the lower end of the table Londrias Riveria heads back down into the National Division B league after surviving for only one season, a real blow to the loyal fans who have stuck by in turbulent times.

Lhitomer Province, despite a shaky finish in the top flight for a third consecutive season. Brillitantly achieved on a shoe string budget by all at the club.

========================================

SafeHaven make the promotion from the B Division, hoping to attain Division A safety slightly better than the season they were relegated in.

So, to roundoff, both Khandrias United and FC Atlantis enter the Champions League, the former as league champions. With Dhurias Athletic & AberScotia entering the NSFA Cup, the latter through the winning of the Brittania Cup.
