In their new role as trade ambassadors for the Imperial Alliance, the corporation has started construction on a new base one year ago. Today we celebrate it's completion and opening.

The base is a center of trade. All IA are planning to set up such a facility. As many already know, the Freeport 1 spacestation has been activated. The IA spaceports on the planet surface will serve as a connection between trading nations and Freeport. All nations who wish to can open offices and hire storage space at the newly constructed Hermes Facility.

The benefits are obvious. The corporation ensures the satefy of your goods and personnel. Also, the IA can offer cheap transport from and to Freeport. It is a great opportunity for your nation to make contact with the spacefaring and alien nations.

Also, the Corporation will set up a fast transport system with shuttles and dropships to and from other similar facilities in the Alliance. This creates an excellent way for nations to establish trade with the entire Alliance.

The facility includes office space, a congress center, conference rooms, warehouses, a shopping / retail center, independent power plants and communication center, an entertainment center and a large area for stockrelated trade, linked up with the worlds' stock market. To make transport easier, the Hermes facility also has:
1. Airstrips
2. Sea harbor
3. Space docks

Delegates and traders in the facility will also have acces to a database composed by the Corporation, listing all available prices, products and product descriptions.

We hope to receive the first requests for offices as soon as possible.

Please note that Hermes is neutral ground. If two Hermes occupants have an international conflict, their weapons shall be confiscated until that conflict ends

The Hermes Facility is located inside SFN and WTE territory. In other words: that scout would have been shot, desintegrated, obliterated and once again shot before she could even reach our border. (oooh! war talk!)

So for the sake of realism I ask you to edit that post and use normal diplomatic channels and communications.

Excellent.

The Hermes Space Port Facility has its own powerplants and communication stations. There are luxuous office buildings, where nations and corporations can hire one or more floors. There is a cogress center inside the facility, where delegates and businessmen can hold their meetings and negotiate trade deals. The storage area for goods is heavily secured. There is constant security in the form of hoverdynes and armed personnel.

Naturally, the facility hosts a wide range of other services also. There are several bars and restaurants, and all the other forms of decent entertainment people may wish. The only thing that restrains the freedom of the people in Hermes is an ID system. Everybody must wear an ID pass, so we can prevent unwanted visitors from getting into the facility.

The Hermes facility is a facility on corporate ground, on earth. However, it stand in direct connection with other similar earth-based facilities inside the alliance, plus the spacestation Freeport 1.

We understand Diablo's concern. This project was developed as part of the Imperial Alliance. The facility is located in the most eastern region of Sisgardia. Also, any vessels will be approaching only from the east. This way we can ensure no foreign vessels will cross SFN territory. Just to make things clear:

This whole enterprise is based on a system, a network, of facilities. Most Imperial Alliance members have these facilities. They provide safe storage, cheap transport, a concentrated center of business and trade etc. Basicly, all the advantages the WTE had. Also, we ensure cheap transport to other facilities.

Of the existing facilities, only one is in space, and that is the one owned by the Imperial Navy. The Hermes facility is located on earth. From Hermes, there is a shuttle / dropship fast transport route to the Freeport space station.

Basicly, joining either facility gets you secured, low tax trade, plus cheap transport and possible contact with spacefaring nations. The spacefarers can come to Hermes to trade with earth, for instance.

If you still wish to join, then you are most welcome.

Assuming you are staying Neutral in the potential Conflict between The Pro-Elven and Anti-Elven factions we would be very interested in hiring two Warehouses and a small Office area in this Spaceport. We would request two things, one of the Ware-houses is to be large enough to build a Structure inside. The other to be nearby. A Day later a Civilian Transport will arrive in Orbit from Tor Yvresse, a Team asks for permission to land, and moves into the Larger Warehouse. For the next Five days RT Singing can be heard from inside the Warehouse, before stopping.

The delegation of high ranked VerTech officials, along with representatives from the Department of Commerce are arriving by air at the Hermes Facilities and will be taking office shortly.

Once they have conducted the preliminary "scouting" of the area, we will be fixed on what merchandize and in what quantities to deliver.

The delegation is fully civilian, there are no armed personel.
We have had good contacts with Vortex security and special forces in the past, so we fully trust them to defend our delegates if need be.
Of course, since most of the delegates are former members of Mountain Sharpshooter regiments(OOC: Taraskovyan elite ground forces), they will be more than able to fend for themselves if need arises.

The Webway Portal was almost Complete and the teams where moving onto other projects here at the first Warehouse. All that remained was the intricate details and the opening/linkup ceremonies, the Work Crews had finished the ground work. However this first warehouse would be transformed inside.

A small Garage was added enough for a Jet-Bike, without of course Weapons, and a Grav Car, an unusual variation on the Grav Tank that had gone into construction recently. Bassically it was an executive Car, with a differance. The Insides designed originally to carry entire Squads had been replaced with a view to comfort. The design was made by the Larkinian advertising agency, after Corporate officials had asked them to construct a logo and flag that would fit the spirit of this noble facility. It is interesting to note the name of this spaceport considering the name of the company I represent, Hermes Spacelines.

Hermes Spacelines has long [[OOC: about 20 rl days, so about 2 decades game time]] held trade contracts with certain Titan and Earth nations. It has been accomplished with ships able to make the interplanetary journey in under two weeks while remaining considerably cheaper then more commonly used grav ships and faster then low-tech ion drive ships [[OOC: http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=39717&highlight= ]] This has been great for our young company, but our maturing company needs room for growth.

You see, our 20 large cargo ships and 52 fast clippers are all incapible of Earth landing (though the clippers and several smaller ships are capible of landing on the moon), making us a strictly interplanetary trade company. The atmosphere and gravity are simply too high. In the past, we have contracted Wazzu TransCorp shuttles to solve this problem (a trade deal limits use of our own).

This is where the Hermes Spaceport comes into play. Through Hermes Spaceport, we can get a larger customer base for our inexpensive interplanetary trade services. Through us, the participants in Hermes Spaceport can gain access to the lucrative Titan market.

Hermes Spacelines [[OOC: Not Wazzu...maybe put "Wazzu" in parantheses after "Hermes Spacelines"? ]] would love to join this international trade project. We would be very interested in taking leases in orbital cargo transfer areas and taking up any cargo companies or governments might have.

A very happy voice comes in over the com" Yes sir, patrol vessels will stay above atmospheric levels. The crew departing will not be issued weapons and the shuttle is also unarmed. Shuttle will be departing shortly will approx 100 crew members, we will be swapping crews out every 2 days to allow everyone a break. Thank you for letting us use your port, sir". You can hear celebration in the background before the transmition ends.

30 minutes later several smaller ships launch out of the battle cruiser, all fighters and one shuttle.

The Empire responds by wiring a fair sum of money to TVC for commercial space. Some of the Militarized Space Fleet disarms and switches to being commerce vessels. The first shadow ship docks at the TVC spaceport carrying a load of reasonably cutting information technology equipment for sale in retail outlets. (After all, you don't sell cutting edge Info Tech to foreign powers! :-) )

We'll have a very important convoy (8 freighters) coming through the area. It already has heavy escort (2 Victory Star Destroyers, 1 Imperial Star Star Destroyer, 2 Nebulon B Frigates, 132 total fighters) and we request to stop and refuel at this starport along the way. We expect to have a convoy of this size moving through the area once per week, and it will require refueling every time.

Empire of Gradenk would like to secure a berth for our fighter crafts( to refuel and for some R&R for our pilots.

We have over 15 crafts patroling our region of space. We hope that our request would be entertained.

We're still building our own transport ships and a fleet of our own space crafts. It would be some time before we formally request a large part of your space port to house our logistics & space crews.

OOC: Haven't been replying since my first post...sorry about that. I've been following other things in the forums. Right now I am waiting for the right "in." It should come tomorrow, we'll see how other threads end up.

Who are Hermes Spacelines? Hermes Spacelines is a Wazzu based corporation operating exclusively on TransCorp ships. We have 1 generation ship (made after the famous and ill-fated SS Darkskye), 27 freighters, and 66 fast clippers.

What do we offer? We offer some of the lowest cost transportation of goods at still increadible speeds. All Hermes Spacelines ships are capible of a sustained 1g or better, making the trip from Earth to Titan in less then 2 weeks even when the planets are futhest apart. Yet because we use comparitively simple if advanced fusion backed ion drives, we don't incure the expensive costs of complex gravitic drives.

What does this mean for you? This means that we can take either people or cargo safely and comfortably from here to SLAG-Titan or anyplace inbetween for less then most of our compeditors, and faster then the rest.

You have clearance to occupy the 65 open docking sites. Please be aware that the Hermes facility is a tax-free trading zone. This also means that no freighting or landing costs are charged. Of course, you will have to pay for fuel and R&R. Fuel costs are always kept at the exact average price on the world market, so that we are never more expensive (or cheap :D) than your average country.

Naturally, occupying 65 docks cannot be done without a charge. Each dock will cost you a base price of 1.000.000 credits each year, plus we demand a compensation of 0,05% of your profits made each year
