Vice President Luigi Contegliono announced his resignation today on National Television. His resignation is attributed to his rapidly failing health. The Vice President has had three heart attacks this year. Most of the populace thought that he would resign shortly after the upcoming elections to help insure his parties victory. It is unknown as of yet who will replace the Vice President on the ballot this election, which is to be held next week. It is however rumored that current president Mario Corleone, who is the favored candidate, will choose Maria Sosetto has his running mate. If she wins she will be the first female Vice President in the history of Agrigento. Maria Sosetto is the current head of the Foreign Affairs Ministry. She is has multiple PhDs and speak Italian, English, French, German, Russian, and Japanese fluently.
