War vs Iesus Christ(new thread)

07-01-2003, 09:03
OOC- #*$&%$!... New thread for the war..cant find the other..NS decided to play Houdinni and made it disappear...
IC
Iesus Christi had made its statement..and Colonel Tyler tried his best not to laugh at it.Having made the jump in with his troops a small Command Complex had gone up inside of the defensive zone. It was beginning to look like the openning stages of a base of operations for an entire theater but that was still uncertain and several days away from completion..inside of the main camo tent..

"I want Captain Winters to take Easy Company to the airport and secure it. Easy company will be allocated 4 tanks..we cant spare anymore at the moment..even with all the armor and troops coming in from the coalition nations we still got gaps in the line and HQ is reporting bad weather in Queens. The troops are being rushed over to Newark but its delaying any reenforcements from home for the time being.Any sign of IC troops?"

"No sir, their leader is rambling about 26 million matyrs or so..frankly Intel doesnt think they have THAT many fanatics on their hands. With such a repressive government its more like 1-2 million fanatics and the rest are just waiting for this to all die down before making any judgement calls."

"Well I hope Intel is right.."

The orders went down the chain of command and it soon reached Captain Winters a captain in the 506th regiment leading a Company of troops called Easy Company. Assembled around a table the Captain went over the plan with his Lieutenants who passed the info down to their Platoon Sergeants and then to the men themselves. When the orders were handed out the trek outside of the DZ(defensive zone) began..

Traveling through woods the company of 108 soldiers and 4 tanks tredded slowly, the night sky giving minimal light at best but the lights of the airport in the distance helped to guide them forward. As they reached the end of the forest a loud cracking sound was heard followed by the view of phosphorous shots reaching across open expanse of the runway toward the forest where they were at.

"GET DOWN!"

The company dropped down to the dirt ground and began to crawl forward toward the fence which was cut in several areas in order to allow the troops to move forward. This fence was of course no consiquence to the M550 Sheridans that moved forward and crushed the gate under their treads. The small turret holding the thick barrel of a 152mm gun on one of the tanks began to turn toward where most of the fire was coming from..unfortunately that was the control tower..

"Damnit! Lipton take your Platoon and flank right there are probably more around here somewhere."

Tracer firing cutting through the air while the troops remained pinned to the ground scattered shots from the M1 Garands shooting back were starting to be heard. The fighting only having gone on for a minute or so seemed much longer as a group of 27 stood and rushed toward the extreme right..several soldiers getting cut down by various positions from within the airport terminal building caused the entire platoon to drop to the tarmac again.

No one ever said however not to hit the terminal building and 2 M550 Sheridans moved forward their 152mm guns trained on the long rectangular building they fired in a joint action kicking up dust and debries in the darkness.

"All platoons...GO FORWARD!"
The men of Easy Company began to rise from the ground and rushed ahead the tanks holding back near the edge of the forest however as the troops ran across the empty runway and the grass toward the control tower and terminal building of which they could now see more people inside of them..some armmed and some not so far it was a far cry from the 26 million matyrs that their leader had boasted about...yet the fight was just starting and resistance was already stiff and entrenched.

The official policy of the Free Republic of Kapingamirangi towards war in Iesus Christi was summarized by President John Nicholases in a recent speech.

OOC: You can find the full text of the speech in the "Foes of Christ" thread, page four.

IC: The following excerpt is, essentially, our policy on the war.

"I would now like to announce the the Free Republic of Kapingamirangi has put economic sanctions in place on Iesus Christi at once. We implore the rest of the world's free and tolerant nations to do the same. At the same time, our government has been in touch with the International Red Cross and they, in tandem with our nation's Peace Corps, will be distributing rations of meet and cheese, free of charge, directly to the people of Iesus Christi. We will also distribute medicine, and send doctors into the countryside should there be a war, as seems immenent. We will not become directly involved in a military conflict, however, we pledge this as humanitarian aid. We will also begin broadcasting Radio Free Kapingamirangi into Iesus Christi, and programming shall show how a benevolent God would never condone the hatred of the Iesus Christian government, and explain the benefits of religious diversity and beliefs of other faiths. This brewing conflict ought not to victimize the Iesus Christian people, who have suffered at the hands of their hate-and-fear-mongering government for too long!"

ISDN SPECIAL REPORT

*Camera fades in a view a rectangular, crowded room. In the Center of the room, between two high rows of ornate wooden seats there is a platform, upon which a lone man clad in black, mandarin clothing stands*

"It is the offical decision of the 3rd Congress of Land holders, and myself, Boyar Kushluk Ba'a'tur that the Fifedom of Chaldea will support The Sates of New York and Jersey , and all nations allied thereto , in the form of Humanitarian aid and Millitary Finance loans ,if they so desire our support. The Chaldean levy has been summoned by myself and all landholders, and is ready for defencive action. Chaldea does not choose to become a belligerent ; only if Chaldea is attacked by Iesus Christi or any of her attendant allies will our levies enter combat.

Our reason for this important and perilous decision is clear : The people and noblity of Chaldea love freedom and democracy. We can and will take what recourse we can against the war-mongering and opression that we see spreading under the rule of Iesus Christi. We also, as a nation , look forward to the liberation of the people of Iesus Christi from the corrupt and dicatorial government that has enslaved them.

The Congress of Landholders expects a responce from the NewYork-Jersey Alliance within a short period of time. "

and later on that night. . .

Kushluk: "Specific amounts of loans and intrest rates will be deturmined on a need baisis and focused toward allied nations who have suffered greatest in this current crisis."

The Undead Empire of Zanarthast does not recognize any religion other than the one we have already established, Zanarism. As such, we pledge our forces to no one in this petty war and will defend ourselves against any intrustion of the dictatorship of Iesus Christi should they decide to invade because of such.

**The viewscreens all go entirely dark, from thence the image of the galaxy appears, then swirls, opening finally in the centre as the image comes closer to show a tall blonde man in the Black of Imperial Military splendour. Emperor Corsarius begins to speak**

My people,

Too long do we watch as intolerance and hate tear apart the fabric of our brotherhood of nations. Too long do we see injustice and anger rise in the form of hate and terror. Well, I for one wish to see it end.

Citizens! We shall tear the black heart of hatred from this world and cast it into the abyss! As of this day, I pledge to the war effort a division of the Kzinti Highlander Royal Guard, along with full support of two warships, a supply company, and air support! We shall not stand for intolerance! We shall not stand for injustice! We shall stand to fight, and to curb this terror forever so we will have our place, undisturbed, in the sun!

Citizens! We go to WAR!

"First minister there have been some developments with the Iesus Christi situation"
"Quickly Broderick I'm late for the council meeting"
"Its war first minister, New York and New Jersey have attacked"
The first minister looked briefly stunned.
"Its come to war already Broderick?"
"Very much so first minister, the radio traffic we've intercepted shows heavy fighting around some of Iesus Christi's strategic installations"
"And the rest of the nations have they pledged support?"
"Hard to tell at this early stage first minister, a few have pledged support and resources for this war"
The first minister briefly sighed.
"Well we knew this was a possibility"
"Yes first minister"
"And we demanded to be on the list of nations that opposed the hatred and bigotry being exported by Iesus Christi"
Broderick slowly nodded in agreement.
"Then prepare what forces we can spare and send them to the region Broderick"
"Yes first minister"
"And Broderick, I want this very clear, our forces are to be used only as part of a coalition against this menace"
"Very good first minister"
"Thats all Broderick, I'll draft the announcement myself"

-------

The Kingdom of Lokieana in response to the many acts of war mongering and the export of terrorism from the nation of Iesus Christi has today chosen to commit its armed forces to the international coalition that has been formed to counter these activities. This is not a war on religion, it is a just war on those rogue nations and individuals who would use religion or race to raise the spectre of hatred amongst the civilised nations of the world.

We urge all nations to strongly support this coalition and bring about peace and stability within our world.

The Empire of Known Space has no need for second-hand Coalition States, Triax, NG, or Wilks weaponry. Should we require this, we would send a delegation to the land of Palladium.

But we thank you for offering.

The F-16 touched down at "Christ memorial Airdrome", it would be the first of the Air units sent by the Peoples Republic of Taranaki to defend her Ally Iesus Christi. The Older Migs would arrive soon and then ground forces. It seemed to the young female Pilot stepping out of her craft that this situation was going to get alot worse before it got better. would this be a bloodbath or could reason triumph seen?

To The Invaders! Withdraw from the soil of our brother country or know we are blood enemies forever! VIVA Comrade Matthew!

Long range Transport helicopters from the Principality of Getta arrived at the combat zone, led by a single wing of Nagare-class helicopters with Long Range Anti-Tank Superheated Missile Launchers (LATSM) jury rigged to their fuselages.

The helicopters dropped their loads; paradroops from the 7th Getta Airborne Infantry

Two of the twelve Transports were taken down by Anti-Aircraft fire before the Nagares could attack them. Another was lost after all but 4 of it's passengers had been deployed, Both Nagares were taken out.

But the Getta forces were now in the war...

The Principality had loaded troops on every plane they could spare and immediately began shuttling them to the airfield New York managed to secure.

Everything else to be sent was loded on ships, escorted by subs and all three of Getta's carriers.

The people of New Jerusalem are wise:they can see that this invasion of Iesus Christi, far from being in the name of tolerance, is in fact a machiavellian attempt to spread the insiduous tentacles of ATHEISM, MATERIALISM and SECULARISM into another nation! This New Jerusalem will not stand for, and, although we are a small and isolationist nation, place our (tiny) armed forces and cheese Exports on standby, for Iesus Christis use if they are needed.

RADAR's across Christi pick up unidentified craft entering Christi airspace. Within moments they are streaking across the landscape, the roar of scramjets filling the air behind them. They pass withing thirty miles of the capital. SAM launchers and AA guns burst into life. As the three craft fly past, hardly deviating from the flight path, the rear craft is struch by a SAM. A ball of flame eurpts as the craft explodes in mid air, showing the ground below with shards of metal.

The two remainig craft execute a long 45 degree turn South taking over 20 miles to complete. Their new flightplath takes them over one of the "Processing Centers". After fullfilling their mission, the two craft pull up and head out of the atmosphere.

From: Cordovan Defence Minister

This morning a squadron of 3 MkI Tactical Shuttle (Recon Upgrade Version) was ordered on an intelligence gathering mission over Iesus Christi. Sadly one shuttle was lost to air defences and the pilot, Lieutenet Daniels is believed dead.

The intelligence gathered by the other two shuttles has been passed onto New York and Jersey.

***OFFICIAL COMMUNIQUE***
From: Lady Sirithil nos Fëanor, Elentari of Menelmacar
To: General Matthew, some leader-type-person of Iesus Christi

We have examined our records and have discovered that three of our citizens, including two Elves, were within your borders at the time of their closure, and could very well now be at one of your despicable 'processing centers'.

I am sure you know of our policy regarding the sacrosanct nature of our nationals abroad. You have twenty-four hours to locate, release, and repatriate them. If they are not on Menelmacari soil by that time, or if they have come to any (and I do mean ANY) harm, we will consider it an act of war and an attack upon all Menelmacari, and the Second and Eighth Fleets will be ordered to attack immediately and with extreme prejudice, regardless of the progress of the other war. Fair warning, dearie.

* 4 am in New Rome, thene scene opens up within a lavish office, the flag and the great seal are along the back wall. Smoke comes from a cigarette, slowly dying, lies in a ashtray.

A man clad in Purple and black robes, and grey hair spills forth. hands rub his brow as a hpone rings..*

"Yes?"

"Eligius, it's the Pope..."

"Send him through..."

* Translated from Latin*

"Eligius, my son, I have heard things..."

"I know your Grace, but these things, Iesus Christi..."

"Say no more..Make a Statement.. The Papalcy is behind you..."

"Bless you, your emenince....This means.."

"Say no more, Fight the good fight. God is behind you."

[i]* Soon the door knocks and in comes a priest, clad in usual black. Eligius, High Priest, First Citizen, and ruler of the Confederacy of Mourn looks up.*

"Yes, Father Bastian?"

*The priest fumbles slightly before opening up a scroll.*

"The Senate of Mourn, as well as the body of Cardinarls, have agreed, to commit the Second Legion as well as the First Airbourne Legion and the rest of the First fleet. The rest of the Armed forces will be be on high alert and Mourn is Locking down. All those of enemy countires are being watched by the MIA and The Embassies of our allies have more guards stationed about them. Also one cell of the CLA has been broken...This is all the recent news..."

"What about Pious?"

"Eligius, they have just touched down..."

* The scene then goes to the Defensive Perimeter where the First Legion has just now touched down, men armed in standard Legionaire armor pour out, their vibra gladiasus strapped to their sides, armed with Mournian Pulse rifles, command units with the LaS shotguns and blaster rifles... Meanwhile the Balista core has already been set up..

Walking between them all is one, in Centurian garb. Men salute as he comes by...*

"Pious.."

* There stands general Atticus smiling, watching as the men deply and start ssetting up home base*

"Atticus, It appears we're right on time. Dracus has set up in the seas...I have just recieved news.."

"That Mourn is going to war? Aye, I recieved the call moments ago..The Second is coming in as well as the Air Legion..."

"Grand..It appears I have control here?"

"Yes Centurion.."

"Excellent.. get a call out to Dracus to have the Longswords fly over..and harass the enemy some.."

"Yes sir."

* And as the scene fades a small flying v of the F-16 Longsword barrel over head...*

A platoon of Asimov troops in combat armor, accompanied by a 'Mech, heading inland. A shot rings out, a soldier's head jerks back and the soldier falls.

"Sniper! Sniper!"

"I got it!" Corporal Minsky's tactical HUD displayed concentric rings on the hill where the sniper shot from, each one expanding to represent the area where the sniper could be. She makes out three heat sources heading up the hill, fast. Her automatic grenade launcher rings out and the area is peppered with a half-dozen monofilament fragmentation grenades. Trees fall, silence. The heat sources are still.

"Jenson, you okay?"

Jenson gets up off the ground, ears ringing from the 30-06 bullet that his his helmet. "I think so, but my head hurts like you wouldn't believe."

"Have the medic check you out. It could be whiplash or a concussion. Rodriguez, Nomura, check the area. Make sure there's no other guerillas."

Rodriguez and Nomura went on patrol as the medic checked Minsky's head injury. Three minutes later they radioed back.

"Sarge? We got about fifteen of 'em holed up in a church. They're not shooting but they're not coming out, either. I think they got an RPG."

"Damn. Okay, take position and keep them covered. We're on our way."

--------------------------------------

The Platoon took position around the church, surrounding them completely. Thirty troopers with infra-red and motion sensors feeding them a constant stream of information picked out the fifteen guerillas sitting inside the building. The 'Mech, positioned 100 meters away, trained its massive automatic railgun on the church.

Sarge put down his plasma rifle and walked up to the door of the church. He knocked twice.

A small door opened. A man's face peered out. "We will not let you in, demon, so begone."

Sarge lifted his sun visor to reveal a scarred visage. "Look, sir, I'll lay it out for you country simple. Our orders are to clear out any guerilla nests we see, but we're supposed to avoid damaging local places of religious significance if we can help it. Now, if you guys surrender, come out one by one, and lay down your arms, we'll take you to a prisoner camp where you'll be fed and sheltered and looked after until this mess ends. Or, we can open fire, kill you all, and level this place. It's up to you. I'll give you a minute to think about it."

"We've thought about it and here's our answer," the man replied, and he stuck out a revolver. He shot Sarge in the chest at point blank range. And again. And again. And again, until the revolver was empty.

Sarge staggered back. He got his footing and looked down at the six dents in his chest.

"Sir, I really think you and your friends should think about this some more."

"Eat lead, sinner!" cried another guerilla, and he fired a shotgun at Sarge. A solid slug hit Sarge square in the stomach, and he doubled over, the wind knocked out of him.

Sarge got his wind back and stood back up, panting hard. "I'm going to give you folks one last chance. After that, we're going to fire at will." The rest of the platoon raised their guns on fire at will, ready to level the place.

Another shot rang out from the church, just wide of Sarge's feet. At that instant ten Gauss Rifles peppered the church full of holes while grenades from two automatic grenade launchers blew the building apart. Four plasma rifles incinerated whatever was left.

Sarge looked at the destruction and sighed. Fifteen people, needlessly dead. They never even stood a chance.

Sarge walked back his rifle, snatched it up, charged it, and muttered softly to himself, "This is stupid."

Rolling up onto the Iesus Christi beach-head created by the NYnJA(New York and Jersey Army), the Cadians establish training center for Iesus Christi nationals whom oppose the Oppressive regime. Troops of the 2nd and 3rd Airbone Divisions had been brought in by C-140 Starlifter from the area of New Jersey, the C-140,by comparrison to the C-47 was a freight train with a compact car next to it. With the 2nd and 3rd Divisions now being deployed , the Republic Military now had around 10,368 troops 150 M550 Sheridan Light Tanks 100 M2A2 Bradleys 10 M1 Abrams Main Battle Tanks. The fighting had been pretty lopsided against Iesus Christi however with their adaptation of a purely defensive posture, fighting was more static and this prompted a response...

"To allied nations, hold your advance where you are. If they are willing to talk then lets give them a chance. Repeat, no futher advances are to take place. Dig your troops in where they are at now. Reenforce your positions, replace battlewry units take this ceasefire to our advantage.

Now it was the time for the diplomats to play their game...

Admiral Garcia reads the communique from the republic of New York and New Jersey and crumples it in disgust.

"HOLD?!? Those idiots want us to HOLD?!? We've got the enemy on the run! We should be rushing into them and blowing their asses back to the middle ages where they belong! We should..."

His tirade is interrupted by loud footsteps outside his door. Two, maybe three marines, and .. high heels? It must be Executor Tanaka-Branson. She sounds mad. Time to put on the charm.

The door opens. Two marines stop at the door as Chief Executive Michiyo Tanaka-Branson, the Capitalist Party leader, charges into Garcia's office.

"Michiyo! What a surprise! Would..."

Executor Tanaka-Branson grabs Garcia by the nuts and digs her nails in. Garcia lets out a cry of pain as she pushes him back against the cold marble walls of his office. Her eyes are pure venom.

"You cocky ham-handed son of a bitch! Did you really think nobody would notice?!? Did you really think I wouldn't find out!?!"

Garcia gulps. "Executor?"

Tanaka-Branson let go of Garcia's family jewels and took two steps back, pointing an accusing finger at him. "THE THOR'S HAMMER! You gave her orders to orbit above Iesus Christi and bombard them from orbit as soon as the fighting started! Population centers?!? What in the WORLD were you THINKING Roberto!?!?"

"Only of victory, my dear Executor."

"BULLSHIT Roberto. Not that it matters. You'll notice that only two cities were bombed before the bombing stopped. I gave the crew direct orders to cease fire."

Garcia is genuinely surprised to hear this. "I thought they were retargeting."

"No, they ceased fire on my orders. And they will remain in cease-fire until the diplomats have had time to do their work. Their orders are to attack only if our forces are attacked, and not one second before then."

"My dear Executor...."

Her voice turns cold as ice. "And if you call me 'dear' once more, Admiral, I will personally see to it that you are busted to Seaman Second Class."

Garcia stands up straight, fully aware that his charm offensive had just terminally backfired. "Yes ma'am."

"I know you're a hot headed man, Garcia, so I will make this simple for you. Your orders .. and remember, this is coming from your commander in chief .. your orders are to stand down, dig in, and let the dlplomats do their work."

"Yes ma'am."

"I know you don't like the Christi. Neither do I. But we do not have the right or the responsibility to cleanse them from the planet."

Garcia sighs. He wants desperately not to have this insipid politician explain the intricacies of war to him. "No ma'am."

Tanaka-Branson straightens up, bristling, looking insulted. She could tell what he thought of her. "Do not presume to patronize me, Admiral. I am not all prettiness and politics, and I am neither a fool nor a flake. I have my reasons for giving you these orders. I expect them to be obeyed."

"Yes ma'am."

Tanaka-Branson stares at Admiral Garcia for a while longer, trying to surmise him. He's a slippery character, she thought. Slippery and slimy. Need to keep him under control.

She turns to leave, and feels the admiral's eyes on her.

"Admiral?"

"Yes ma'am?"

"Kindaly stop staring at my rear-end. I am not your Geisha."

And she then walks out, leaving the admiral sneering.

That bitch, he thinks to himself. "Let the diplomats handle it." Phooey. Let the diplomats earn their keep. I've still got a war to run.

He picks up the phone ....

Hracht-Major lowered the telescopic viewer from his eyes, a heavy beamer slung over his shoulder and the jet black armour of the Kzinti Highlander Royal Guard stained and muddy with the earth of Iesus Christi. The division had stormed across the hilly terrain, so different to that of Known Space, two days ago. The wind swirled, chill over the bald hilltop where the Royal Guard had set up base.

A movement in the corner of his eye caused him to whirl around, enhanced reflexes moving him lightning-fast and psionic senses reaching. However, it was only Chuft-Communicator, the comms sergeant, with his absurd little knit green hat on his head, and round spectacles. "Hracht-Major! Sir!", he waved a lime green FLASH text flimsy, "We are to hold the line here!".

Hracht major looked about the camp. A Cloudweaver transport took off, flanked by Ripping-fang class helicopter gunships in a cloud of dust. Mechanics swarmed over his three locust mecha, as well as his personal Marauder. Kzin troops polished weapons, fitted armour, or tweaked personal power suits for the due push into the interior of Iesus Christi. Jump-off was to be in two hours, with heavy loss of life predicted for the Christi folk. They resisted with futility, but resisted nonetheless. They were to be honoured by their courage, condemned by their foolishness.

Would we do the same in their position?, he mused.

He took a deep breath and hissed through his teeth. "Send the word. We are to stand down and dig in. Repel the barbarian's assaults, but we are not to go forward. Disperse the camp and consolidate this area. We may be here some time", and in a faint voice that only those near him heard, "And may the Emperor and those with him have mercy on these people"

The sun set in the City of Nekhen, home of the Imperial government. As it moved below the horizon, painting almost terrifyingly beautiful shades of orange and crimson across the western horizon.

How appropriate for a world at war that the sky itself should gleam red with the stains of human ignorance. The cynical thought flashed through the mind of Horemheb, Herep reh new Neb-Nekhen, Director of Kings Advisors to the Lord of Nekhen. His Imperial Majesty was late, as usual, for the weekly briefing; occupied once again by seemingly endless affairs of state.

Horemheb was almost ready to leave the lords’ chambers when his majesty, Darius IV SetepEnRe burst through the main chamber doors accompanies by a flock of advisors and palace guards. The noise was almost unbearable as the administrators all in unison were attempting to speak. “Enough!” His Majesty exclaimed in frustration, but in moments regained control of his temper, “I truly apologize, but please, let me get some rest.”

The room filled with silence as everyone stopped in their tracks, bowing respectfully they existed, the doors shutting behinds them leaving his majesty alone in darkness.

Horemheb stood in the shadows, patiently waiting for his majesty to notice him. “Lights.” Darius said in a voice reeking of exhaustion. The room was instantly fully illuminated. Without a moments thought, Darius moved towards the canopy bed in the back of the room, his eyes closed as he walked forward with total confidence of where he was going. “Horemheb, we’ve played this game far too long, and tonight I’m not in the mood for it.” Darius stated in perfect calm, sighing after the last word, as he collapsed onto the mattress.

“I do apolagize,” Horemheb said, “but matters of importance have arisen.”

“The war?” Darius inquired, though in his mind he was certain of the response.

“I’m afraid so.” Horemheb began as he seated himself near the bed and brought up a world map with a few swift motions on his hand over his wristpad. The map appeared near the center of the room, encompassing most of what was the wall, showing the current political situation of the world. “As you can see, your majesty, more and more nations are joining the war, and there are fears that it will escalate to our part of the world. The conflict being in part driven by religious and ideological differences has great potential of starting a total global war.”

“So,” his majesty hardly paying attention to the map, his eyes closed as he lay face up on the bed, “what concern is it of ours? Are we not fully prepared to defend ourselves if hostilities do come? Besides we are isolated on an island, it would be difficult to invade, and our allies the Kingdoms of Konan and Kutou would come to our aid. Why should we be concerned?”

“The points is taken your majesty, our concern should come from the fact that a potential war could be devastating economically. To put it simply, we are simply not willing to commit ourselves to a full scale war. You have already decided to focus on internal affairs.” Horemheb patiently responded to the lord, fully aware of the burned which he was faced with.

“Well then,” Darius lifted himself off of the bed, and almost as though he was completely rejuvenated, “We will not fight a full scale war…” A smile grew on his face.

“What did you have in mind, your majesty?”

“Let us show everyone the true horrors of war.” Darius said with enthusiasm, “Let us teach humanity a lesson is shall soon not forget… how many neutron warheads do we have?” He inquired.

Horemheb was shocked by the words coming out of his majesties mouth. “Neutron warheads?!? Are you seriously considering using them?”

Darius laughed, “Don’t worry it’s not what you think. I would never use it against a civilian target, it would be suicide. Rather a simple demonstration that we have the capability. We will take Iesus Christs’ largest military instillation. Simply use the neutron bomb on the military facility, effectively killing the soldiers, then send in a squad of paratroopers to occupy the facility, and since we are dealing with a neutron warhead and not a thermonuclear one the facility will be perfectly intact. The cost granted is a bit high, nevertheless it is cheaper than to commit to a full war, besides we would be using their own equipment against them. Plus, we should put the uranium being mined to good use, as well as what is the point of having a military if we’re not going to use it.”

“Are you certain of this action?” Horemheb, not calm, questioned Darius one last time.

He paused considering the implications, “Yes, as certain as I’ll ever be. Now go and call an emergency meeting of the generals and supreme commanders. I want this operation carried out by morning.”

OOC: I’m justifying this action in terms of logistics given the fact that Nekhen has been militarizing, and therefore possess the capability to launch ICBM’s; as well as the fact that recent uranium mining operations in the south of the territories of Nekhen has provided Nekhen with the capability to create nuclear, thermonuclear, and neutron warheads.

I often wonder how nations of 5 million have arsenals like the former USSR's? hehe

OOC-Neutron warheads and ICBMs...well I cant complain I've opennly stated my country has 12 Air Launched Cruise Missiles, each with nuclear tips. An a free fall nuke isnt hard to construct with the proper equipment and such.Oh well.
IC-
"Jesus Christ..."

The mushroom cloud from the Nekken ICBM reached up skyward and could be viewed from the Northern Command Post where the 1st Airbone Division had begun its assault just days ago..the soldies at the line could see the ripple of the shockwave passing over their heads while their respective Battalion Command posts were a flurry with activity..

"Where the hell did that come from?!", a question asked by many and not a single answer given but plenty of speculation as to who could have done it..
"Maybe it was Iesus Christi..a show of force perhaps? Or one of their allies..." The theories ranged from the sane to the absurd and one question ran through General Douglas's head..

"Get the other Command HQ's on the line, see if anyone lost any troops. If it was Iesus Christi then they would have probably hit one of the HQs or even one of the sections of the line.If one of them can confirm it was IC, then give them the go ahead to renew the offensive. Then I want you to contact all Division HQs and order them to have their troops prepare for NBC warfare."

"What the hell was that?!" screamed a Tanith Scout.

"Someone went nuclear! Or did something worse." replied a Tanith Commander.

"This was a conventional war...and on hold. Who did this?!"

"I don't know, but we are going to have to radio this back to headquarters. Tanith! We move out, and go south back to the front lines."

The Tanith slipped back into treelines and melted into the darkness.

* The People of Cadia condem the use of Neutron Warhead on the people of Iesus Christi. Not only was this action not approved by the Joint Command, but is an illogical and irration action of the despreate. This is not a war of desperation. I call for an immediate cease-fire with the Nations of Iesus Christi and New York and Jersey. ---> Evander Lyman Guant, Confederacy of Cadia. *

STAFF SGT: I think they are waiting to see if there attacker has turned his god mode off yet...

OOC: BAR HUMBUG.I NEVER complain about RPG(hell dont even write alot)BUT Nuking people is bad. Look at "our" region. in game i'm a ally of this wacko.Nukings would lead to a "BIG BAD" were everyone dies..unless the old "i'm invincible" thing comes up. SIGH. I mean really deploying nuclear weopons etc HAS to lead to a response of the same. I mean WE"D have to fire our Nukes(if we have any??!) Its not the nuking thats silly..(well it is..see "god mode" concept) but its where it leads things. I mean rationally the game would end here because it becomes a nuke party. so ends this world(oh no my "magic missle " stops radiation" blah blah I'm a Sputnik of the Order of CLEANMO i am immune to death! I shot the darkness! got any moutain dew!)
I congratulate New York etc on the No God mode idea...this kinda of thing(from a country smaller than me even!) is abit Zzzzzzz.
Ianyhow..back to the war...wheres my Plasma rifle and Powersuit..oh hang on...I mean AK47...

OOC: LOL! Taranaki your killing me. The part I like the most is the use of Neutron Weaponry as a more feasible solution to all-out, full scale war. The most cost effective solution to full scale war is Diplomacy. Well, we now have an even bigger 'International Incident' to role play.

The Moon, Commonwealth Command Bunker:

General Maxim sits at his desk reading the latest combat reports just sent from down "The Well". It was looking good, the fanatics were on the run. A hold had been called to allow negotiations to take place. "Good," he thought. "The last thing anyone wanted was a slaughter and an occupied country."

While he was reading, a private ran to his desk handing him a piece of paper.

"Whay's the meaning of this private?" General Maxim demanded.
"Sir, sensors have just registered an ICBM launch at IC. Neutron warhead!" The private gasped.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, sir its been confirmed on CNN."
"Godammit. Does ALL our Intel come from the media these days. Get me Commander Harding on Earth."

Forward Air Command, Hanger 7:
"I want those rad filters locked down. We don't know if IC will retaliate or not," yelled a man in a pilot's G-Suit.
"Yes sir, do we know yet who launched?" the engineer asked.
"Joint command reports it was the Nekken."
"Who the hell are they?"
"Got me."

The pilot continued yelling orders to the ground crew who are busy installing NBC protection to several Mk1 Tactical Shuttles.

A young individual in civilian clothing runs in.
"Commander Harding? There's a call for you at the control centre."
"Is it urgent?" the pilot asks.
"Yes, a General Maxim says its top priority."
"Shit! I'll be right there."

Forward Air Command, Control Centre:

Harding sat at a console and opened a communications channel.
"General Maxim. You called sir?"
"Yes, how are things down there."
"Oh you know, Immeninent thermonuclear death, ICBM launches. The usual."
"The High Council has issued General Order 72."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, implement it immediately."
08-01-2003, 12:58
From: Commonwealth Defence Minister

The High Council has decided to implement General Order 72. This calls for the interception and destruction of all ICBMs launched by either side. We will not allow this war to involve further nuclear exchange.

We regret that it had to come to this but we feel that it is a necessary step to prevent a much wider nuclear exchange.

The Mk1 Tactical Shuttles have been ordered to sentry orbits above the battle zone and will intercept and destroy any and all ICBM's that they can.

May God help us all.

These nations ARE prepared to strike against all nations involved in this sick war crime with ALL weapons of mass destruction launched from land, space and sea based platforms. We now DEMAND rewithdraw from iesus Christi and the warmonger who used this weapon to be brought to JUSTICE!

"Come again, Peter? I can't hear you." Said the President.

"Mr. President, I'll have to call you back. I think something very bad just happened."

Commander Jensen hung up the phone and ran outside the command tent. Everywhere people was running around in panic. He looked around and came to a halt. To the north a giant mushroom cloud was rising...
Commander Jensen ran inside again, picked up the phone and dialed a number.

"Mr. President. Someone just attacked Iesus Christi with nuclear weapons. I need you to send me all the radiation suits we got! And we need more supplies too. It seems like this war has just begun again!" ...

Orbital Coordinates 8876-76-8765:

"Alpha Leader, take your squadron to IC geosynchronus. Bravo, you go to Nekken geosynchronus. Charlie and Delta squardons, maintain sentry orbits." Harding spoke over the comm channel fully aware that anyone could listen in.

He looked down at his display, currently showing the Commonwealth News Network feed piped up from the Command Bunker back home. The situation was worsening by the minute. Now IC was threating total NBC retaliation if those responsible for the strike were'nt punished.

He was about to reeach over to the coffee machine when his copilot informed him of an incoming message.

"Commander Harding, Maxim here. Switch to Delta band."

[OOC: Encrypted frequency impossible to break unless you know how the code was developed]

"Go ahead general."
"I take it you've been watching the news reports." He did'nt weait for a response. "We've taken the precaution of evacuating all nonessential personel from the Waystation. You are ordered to not attempt atmospheric rentry under any circumstances. The Ground Crew are being moved to a secure shelter and will be evacued as soon as we can get an Interorbit there."
"Understood sir."
"Also, with the threat of bioweapons, you not to return to the Commonwealth under any circumstances. Proceed to Waystation for decontamination after your mission and for any resupply."
"yes sir."
"Don't worry, we have another 4 squadrons heading your way, that's an extra 20 craft. Your orders still stand. Intercept those missiles at any cost. Especially if they are targeted at civilian targets. Command Out."

Harding clicked of Delta band and informed the troops. At the back of his mind was a single though. There were no Interorbits prepped for departure. None of them were equipped for military service, they'd be cut to ribbons. Commander Harding, sitting in his Paradrob Upgrade Version of the Mk1 Tac Shuttle realised he may soon face a stark choice.

As Marshall Constantius Zhukov was looking over the latest war update and over a holographic map showing the progress of armies on both sides, the door of the command bunker was flung aside and Justinian II entered in a hurry.

"Zhukov, I've been getting conflicting reports all morning. What in God's name is going on?"

With a quick gesture, Zhukov saluted the Basileus.

"Sir... they've gone nuclear. Someone just hit Iesus Christi with a neutron warhead. These glowing red patches on the map represent areas of radioactive fallout."

"Dear Lord! They are mad!" The Basileus paused for a few seconds, meditating on the situation at hand. "Do we know who it was?"

"Yes, sir. Our spies report that the attack has been carried out by Nekhen..."

"The people of Iesus Christi have suffered enough at the hands of these aggressors. The time has come."

He took out a small key from his pocket and showed it to Zhukov. The Marshall understood and took out his own key. Together, they approched a console in one of the darker corners of the room. The keys clicked... and the console was activated. The sign above it read "Ion Cannon control".

Marshall Zhukov punched in a few commands, then set the co-ordinates. It was done.

It was a beautiful morning in the City of Nekhen, with clear blue skies and a slow, warm breeze. However, the atmosphere slowly began to feel... heavy, in a way. No one could tell exactly what was bothering them, because no one could see the movement of charged particles through the air.

Without warning, a burning pillar of blue fire came down from the heavens, incinerating all in its path. As the stream of accelerated hydrogen ions hit the ground, it unleashed its full destrustive potential, obliterating everything at the point of impact and sending out a massive shockwave that burned the city down to a smoking, blackened ruin.

Minutes later, the ruling body of Nekhen got his short message from Constantinopolis:

"We have replied in kind to your cowardly attack on our allies, Iesus Christi. Consider this our declaration of war."

Constantinopolis and all her armed forces, conventional or otherwise, are now at war with the warmongers who relentlessly attack our brothers and sisters in Iesus Christi. Gen. Matthew has full access to our Ion Cannon array for the duration of the conflict.

OOC: If you're wondering about the ion cannons - they're just my answer to nukes. I utterly despise any nuclear weapon and I consider them pure evil. Therefore Constantinopolis doesn't use nukes, it uses ion cannons. The destructive potential is exactly the same, but ion cannons have the advantage of being space-based weapons (you can't shoot them down with anti-air defences like you would ICBM's and atomic bombers) and the distinct disadvantage of not leaving any fallout or radiation.

Admiral Garcia read over the demands of the Christi general, again and again, each time giggling to himself more. He wouldn't have dared dream about this happening. Nuclear threats? Ho ho! A perfect time for him to show up that bitch of an Executor.

"Admiral? A call from Asimov Hall. Executors Tanaka-Bransen and Zhou want to speak with you. They'll be calling in five minutes."

The admiral acknowledged the message. He stood up to put on his dress uniform .. the jacket only, his bare feet wouldn't be seen over the vidlink .. and sat back down in his chair. The phone rang twice.

"Sir? It's Executors...."

"Thank you Kraig, put them on the screen."

The screen came on. Executors Tanaka-Bransen and Zhou sat side by side.

"Good morning Executors. I trust you have seen today's headlines?"

"We have Admiral, and we want to discuss this with you," said Zhou.

"Indeed."

Tanaka-Bransen piped in "We expect that you'll want to start preping the Thor's Hammer for a retaliatory strike, just in case the Christi and her alies use nuclear weapons on one of our allies."

"Absolutely. In fact I was about to propose...."

"There will be no pre-emptive strike, Admiral."

Admiral Garcia looked crestfallen. "Of course."

"In fact, the results of this afternoon's election may have us withdrawing from the Christi war."

Admiral Garcia looked furious. "WHAT?!?"

Zhou now took over the conversation. "Our internal polling shows that the Asimov public doesn't have the stomach for a nuclear war. They're already reeling from the recession, and they think that the Christi are nuts enough to actually push the button."

"Yes! Yes they are! All the more reason to strike...."

"The public won't stand for it, Admiral."

"Screw the public!"

Zhou raised his voice for the first time in years. "Admiral, may I remind you that this is still, despite what the international community may think, a democracy? If we go against the wishes of the public, then we will get voted out. Pure and simple. And if you go against the wishes of the public, and against our wishes, then we will be forced to charge you with disobeying orders."

"But..."

"Furthermore, Admiral, if you do anything to cause the Christi to drop an atomic bomb on Asimov, you will be charged with the negligent homicide of every person who dies as a result."

Garcia looked away from Zhou, to Tanaka-Bransen. She was smiling. She did'nt like him, and now she had him over a barrel. Damn.

She spoke softly, almost sweetly. "Your orders are to move the Thor's Hammer in position for a retatiatory strike. If the Christi or one of thier allies bomb us or one of our allies with a nuclear, biological, or chemical weapon, then you're to reduce the entire nation to a moonscape. You will take no other offensive actions until you are told otherwise. You will order our forces to prepare to evacuate the war zone, pending election results. And Admiral, you will obey your orders, in word and in spirit, to the last detail. Otherwise you will be held responsible for the deaths that result."

Garcia started to speak, but Zhou interrupted him. "That's all then. Good morning, Admiral." The line went dead.

The Admiral smiled. Perfect. They gave him exactly what he wanted, and he didn't even have to suggest it or ask for it. If the Christi used a weapon of mass destruction, their nation would end forever.

With his next phone call, Admiral Garcia ordered the Thor's Hammer to prepare for a massive retaliatory strike.

Hracht-Major sealed the cockpit on his Marauder as his Locusts and a platoon of power suits were due to move out of the ridge encampment on a patrol sortie. The Christi folk had been quiet in their sector since the ceasefire, but it was never a bad idea to retain vigilance.

As the ponderous mecha began to stomp their way mechanically through the base gates, Hracht-Major crested the hilltop, looking far out onto the plains of Iesus Christi. The view was breathtaking, even bespoiled by the smoke of war, and Hracht-Major had already written much on it's beauty.

Overhead, a vapour trail appeared. There was not scheduled air assault in the area that day. "Sensor operators! What is that aircraft? Why was I not informed?", he shouted into the commlink.

The sensor operator on duty reported back, "It appears to be a missile, Hracht-Major, sir! Very well stealthed, too. It does not seem to belong to any Alliance country, though our information is limited. Even our best psi-sensor is having difficulty tracking it", the sensor operator gestured to a corner of the prefab shelter, where a thin young man wiped sweat from his forehead and traced his finger across the map. "He is not even using his projection to display the missile, it takes so much of his concentration, we must...", the operators words trailed off as the young man cried out and collapsed.

Hracht-Major opened his mouth to speak, but at that second, upon a junction in the rivers that flowed all the way to the sea, there was a sudden bright speck at the join, which swelled to a blinding sphere. All the transparent panels and viewers on the mech instantly turned a frightening black, save the one facing forwards on the darkest polarizing setting, showing a rising fireball. The screens slowly went back to normalcy and showed a mushroom cloud raising it's ugly head to the sky. "By the fanged god", he breathed, letting air out he did not realise he was holding, "But what could this mean? There was a ceasefire!"

Hracht-Major gave barely a second's thought, "Prepare the hospital unit for incoming casualties, high radiation, burns, and general injuries from blast. We'll be getting a lot of civilians, just in case some terrorists slip through, be careful. However, I want all available med units set up here, with all the cloudweaver choppers we can spare to airlift the criticals to the Pure Evil hospital ship! Move!"

Growling under hs breath, Hracht-Major snarled, "By the Emperor, whoever you are who did this, you will pay by your lands and your blood and your children's children's children!"

Emperor Corsarius has yet to give an official word on the nuclear tragedy of IC, however, We note that the Nekken have stepped the borders on power play in this war. We strongly advise them to arrive promptly with cleanup crews and recompense, else alliances may find cause to shift. From Our perspective, even IC has not done so much as this. Once again, we laud your reasons, but not your execution. Your assistance to the alliance can be bought so many other ways.

Cordovan High Council Chambers:

President Delaney paced back and forth. The threat of NBC warfare etching worry lines deep into his head.

"So, how are our defences should the bastard push the button?" He asked his defence minister.
"Well Mike," he responded, "our location makes it pretty unlikely they'll catch us by surpise. What with Waystation and the extreme distance between us and them, we'll see any attack coming from several thousand miles off at the very least. We've also got pretty good protection from Harding and the Tac Shuttles in sentry position over IC. If on the off chance they weapons get through, well we're immune to biowarfare and chemwarfare agents here. The only danger is to New Cordova from nuclear attack."
"Go on," Delaney urged.
"As you know, New Cordova has little in the way of active air defences. Part of the agreement we signed with the Lunar community when it was first built. We've been trying to retrofit some of the Phalanx guns from the old Type 42 destroyers but they're unreliable at best. We're looking into mounting some PDL's but thats going to take time."
"What can we do in the meantime?" asked the Finance minister.
"I reccomend we begin formulating an evacuation plan for New Cordova."
The President sat down at the table. "Ok, will pass that on to the Civil Defence authorities." Delaney took a deep breath and turned to the Science and Technology Minister. "What's the latest report on the Mass Driver?"
"Well, sir, we've ran into a few problems but..."
"I don't want to hear it. Get that thing working."

New Cordova Transit Center:

"Ladies and Gentlemen, due to the ongoing hostilities with IC and concern for your safety, all flights to The Well have been suspended. The Cordovan Transit Authority regrets any incovienence this may cause. Accomodation is available in the Capital for those who wish to wait out the disruption. However, passengers wishing to continue to their destination are asked to contact their travel operator. Alternate flights may be available from our neighbours. Once again, we apologise for the dirsuption."

Cordoan High Council Chambers:

The phone rings. An aide picks it listens for a few seconds.

"Sir, I think we should listen to this. Is a feed from the Command Bunker."
"Go ahead."

The aide activates the speaker phone and a voice begins.

"...the city. The whole godamn city! We need orders dammit."

The president cleared his throat. "Soldier, this is the President. To whom am I speaking?"
"Commander Harding. Delta Squadron, Commonwealth Expeditionary Force."
"What is happening down there."
"Mr President. Constantinopolis has just fired an Ion Cannon at the Nechan capital city. From here it looks like they completly vapourised it!"
"Do you know where the shot originated?"
"Yes."
"Standby, we'll get back to you." The president made the cut motion with his hand in front of his neck. "General Maxim. Can out Tac's take this thing out?"
The General looked throughtful. "It's not impossible. If we hit it just right, we could disable its primary power systems. That would disable it. It won't be easy though."
"Do it, issue the orders. If thing makes any move to target our men on the ground, or if it looks like its ready to fire on us, take it out."

In Earth Orbit:

Harding looked down at the FAM and read his orders and clicked the com to the Delta Band.

"Charlie Squadon, remain on sentry orbit. Alpha, meet up at the orbital co-ords i'm sending you. Our orders are to disable the Ion Cannon if it fires on Cordova or our ground crew. Delta, we're moving. Its time to get dirty."

Harding activated his Tac's thrusters and began to head to the orbital position of the weapon platform.

We will defend Iesus Christi to the death if necessary and if called upon by Iesus Christi. Our full might will be used and my army will not be afraid to become martyrs for our fellow Christian state. I will also rally up support from my allies in the Middle East namely Elias, Egypt and Palastine.

On behalf of the Government of The Disputed Territories of Amorica y Bovrila I would like to state our state of neutrality in this unfortunate conflict. We feel that this is of great benefit to all the concerned parties. As Generalisimo Hugo III said before the counter-coup that ended his coup, "there can only be one winner in war". In a way he was right, yet he was wrong. We feel that whether victory or defeat graces your glorious nations, the aftermath is often as violent as the war before. Therefore we would like to take this opportunity to offer the services of our noble and extradition free nation. For an initially relatively small fee your excellencies may feel it is desirous to safeguard your future in our wonderful land in the unfortunate event that you lose this war. All deposits are non-refundable.

IC-
The Atheist fleet had finally arrived off the coast of Iesus Christi under the cover of darkness.

Using every resource that we could muster of our long-range air assets, we've been staging air raids over Christi cities for the past few days as we brought together our main assault force. We'd bombed almost every city in the area.

Except this one.

The fleet readied its weapons as more air forces approached from the FAMF staging point on Gatti Island.

At approximetly 2:30 AM, the order was passed down. A barrage of bombs, artillery fire, missiles and bullets slammed into the waterfront as landing ships and gunboats approached under the cover of the assault. Paratroopers, what little we could rally while our main airbourne force was still en route from Baku, came down withen the city and diverted forces.

The first wave of tanks landed after a phalanx of infantry had advanced into the harbour. More forces continued to land. By sunrise, we held most of the city.

The airport, instrumental to our efforts, was damaged in the offensive. Combat engineers are moving to repair so we can bring in our 2nd Airbourne and other re-inforcements, equipment, and humanitarian aid supplies for the people of Christi.

The city, now nicknamed "Carterton" (after the leeader of the assault, Admiral Jason Carter), will be a major beachead for coalition forces, and will be secured withen days. More Atheist forces are inbound, and navel vessels are patrolling the nearby coast of hostile units.

The 2nd front has opened...

(OOC- I've been trying to post since last night, but NS is being its usual self :P)

IC-
The Atheist fleet had finally arrived off the coast of Iesus Christi under the cover of darkness.

* Another sleepness night within the town of New Rome As cars and what not dive by the Captial bulding, the Ancient Cathedral of Saint Michael. All seems well on the outside as flags fly and what not, but along the inside, everything isn't, ok...

Within the High Priest's chambers things have been going awry, on the television panels, on the eastern wall the ISN, NRNN, and other News channels play back the goings on. The man behind the desk, is none other than the High Priest himself, an emptied bottle of bourbon lies in the waste basket to the side of the desk, while a half drained class is held in one hand.

The elderly man's face lays down pressing onto papers, and satelite images. Of course this man, is nothing but the High Priest, and first citizen of Mourn. Eligius Dante. Suddenly a slide pannel opens along the western wall and in slips another person, clad in the robes of the Clergy, a slight , sad smile rests on the young, compared to the other, man's face. Father Jesuit Bastain walks further in.*

Jesuit: It looks bad Eligius...

* The eldery man looks up, rubbing his face before taking a sip of bourbon, red puffy eyes look back to his Aide, and confiddant.*

Eligius: Aye, that it does old friend...Some damned country has fired nukes into Christi, which I fear ihas lead to the latest words out of the region. Christi is preparing to repsond, to all Hostile nations, by launching nukes back...Dear God, how did we let it get this far?

* The other man smiles again as he walks over, placing a hand onto the eldery chaps shoulder, and he drops another folder down*

Jesuit:I know sir...Pious has moved all legions and units in the area to the taken city of San Jaun, there they are stting up some sort of base, trying to get what they can enough under ground in case another one comes in close...Hell even the Christi Citizens, and those resitance fighters that have surrendered they're helping out. Dracius, i Moving te fleet out a little and preparing to defend that at all costs...MIA suspects if Christi fires, they'll aim for us..

Eligius: Who the hell fired?

Jesuit: They don't know sir...

Eligius: Has Gnaeus, planned anything?

Jesuit: Yes sir, he has given it out to the MIA and GPD, soon statements will be made within the country, for people to evacuate the Major cities and ports, head for the old hill bunkers from the Morgriath days.

Eligius:Thank God, Any news from Menelcamar? New York?

Jesuit: No sir, niether country has responded to what Dignitaries we have sent, or their missives...Also the UN branded us a Physcotic Dictatorship

Eligius: Well, shit...things do not look so good, even our new found friends, do not respond...

Jesuit: That's not all, the Magoriath parties are up and kicking, even their allies in the Senate are calling for your removal, and a change back to the old dark days...

Eligius: We're not yielding are we?

Jesuit: No sir, only a large insurrection could do that, what with how we all are...

Eligius: Give the call for New Rome to Evacuate then...I don't want the dark Eldar, to think we're stupid.. I will stay though, as well as those who wish. I want the Senate released so that they too can go hide, Set up the Shadow Government about the odl Saint Christopher region, underground hush hush...Already plan for my successor to be there, should they fire on New Rome..

Jesuit: Yes sir...

* With that the Father bows out heading off, the door clicking behind him. Eligius looks towards his desk drawer, and opens it, before pulling out the old Service revolver he had used once during his life time. Slowly he relaods it and sets it back calmly on his desk, followed by an old, bloodied Rosary. Tears form in his eyes.*

Eligius:May God have mercy on our souls...And forgive for what I have done...
