Goodwill Tour Arrives in Darkskye

The massive Guided Missile Battleship Republic along with her token escorts Albany and Buffalo both Guided Missile Cruisers approached the waters of Darkskye. The 1,025 foot long Battleship dropped anchor just outside of port waiting for the harbor clearance before sailing in once more. While there they would set up some information booths even hold a gala event on the fore deck of the Republic which was big enough to hold several hundred people. The crew in dress whites were scrubbing every last inch of the warship a symbol of New York and New Jersey they wanted it to shine. Several people were picked out to be tour guides for the warship preparing for any civilians that were curious enough to want a tour.
Below deck was another story with tensions around the world growing ever further the Republic had met up with a transport several dozen miles from Darkskye's soverign waters and took on a full load of missiles(anti air, surface to surface, a few dozen ASROC torpedos). Several areas of the vessel all of them critical systems were underguard protecting against any would be spy or sabotour.
Darkskye citizens and military personell gazed in AWE at the wonders that pulled into the shores of Darkskye today. People were in awe at the site of such wonderful ships (OOC: Everybody in Darkskye loves military hardware LOL)
"I cant believe it!" Shouted several people
"Darkskye needs some of these!" shouted several others
The information booths were helpfull as the curious citizens ventured to find out more of about the massive ships.
The Darkskye Military posed armed guards near the ships, which included members of Red Cell. But, all was peacefull and happy.
"I must say," quoted Athena, Sub Leader of Darkskye, "It is a marvelous ship and a wonderful site to see. Congratulations on its construction!"
(OOC: For those of you paying attention to the Wedding thread, this supposedly happens before Athena went to the party and got shot. Good post man =) Im impressed)
(OOC:I would keep up with the wedding but nationstates has been a real bitch to me the past two days and I could hardly get to thhe forums. Thanks I could still use some work. I'm used to RPing on forum..hell I even RPed in emails but for some reason Nationstates is different..)
The day was chalk full of activities for the citizens of Darkskye even being able to crew one of the 16 inch gun turrets,of course all the shells were actually starbursts and not live rounds but it provided entertainment none the less for the people. The highlight of the day was of course the visit by Sub Leader Athena who was given a tour front to back of the vessel down to the massive steam boilers which looked as if they could house a small family.
"I must say, its a marvelous ship and a wonderful site to see. Congradulations on its construction," the Sub Leader of Darkskye durning the middle of the tour..
"Thank you madame emissary, she has a fine crew, but sad to say a massive price tag,for the moment she is one of a kind, now if you'll please follow me to the bridge the Albany and Buffalo our escorts are about to begin the weapons drill before you go."
The Albany and Buffalo partook in the festivities firing off their smaller 14 inch guns toward dummy targets out at sea in a brief live fire exercise put on for the public and the military around. As night approached starburst shells would be used once more in an combination of lights and timing giving off a small fireworks type display before calling it a night.
