Password Distribution

If a region isn't under invasion, but the founder or delegate changes the password, does he/she still have to distribute it to the natives?

I can't seem to find something on this... if there's something, a link would be helpful, thanks!

Well, easy part first.

The Founder doesn't have to if s/he doesn't want to, owning the region and all...

As for a native Delegates... well... I'm a little fuzzy, as we usually deal with invader griefing. I believe they don't have to, but I'm not going to call this an official ruling until another Mod backs me up.

I thought so.

Understood. Thanks, Hack.

Course that begs the question, how to stop dedicated griefers infiltrating regions, becoming "native" and then killing the region by passwording it.

Under the current rules as I know them, anyone 'infiltrating' a region over time is regarded as a resident and not as an invader (there is no actual invasion). When the other residents support that nation to become delegate, then that nation is a regular resident delegate. My personal suggestion is to be careful in whom to endorse. Endorsements are IMHO generally given out way too easily. Way way way too easily.

No offense intended, but that makes no sense. Inherent in the verb "infiltrate" is non-residency. If one goes into a region with the intent - however far in the future- to be part of some future invasion, then you are an invader, as I see it. To say that's there's no actual invasion is a little disingenuous; the invasion begins the minute the infiltrator moves there. I recall one of the mods once saying regarding self-identity, in what I was thought was a pretty zenlike manner, "Invaders know who they are, Residents know who they are". That's a paraphrase, but it's close.

I'd like to see the moderator's response to this... does it make them an invade? What about natives that move to a region with no intent to invade, then, decide to stage a coup? That doesn't make them an invader, does it? At least not in the real world.
