OOC: Had I taken the time to look at the population more, this would have appeared on the forum earlier than today; Lamoni, I hope, will take the time to look at this thread. I don't have much time so here is a post that, I hope, is adequate.

The Newcastle Herald reports that Her Majesty's Government has awarded a middle class family in the city of Newcastle with a substantial monetary grant and an award after they brought into the world the billionth Anglian person last night amidst much jubilation. According to reports from the Herald, Charles and Anne Lawson, two middle class parents of two daughters, have recieved a new bundle of joy in the form of William Lawson, not only their third child but the billionth Anglian to be born. The parents have repeatedly stated that they are just happy that William was born healthy and without defects but they have been swarmed over the past several days by well wishers and gift givers including Her Majesty the Queen who has donated clothes, toys and a lavish crib of "royal quality" to the family while Prime Minister Percival Beaumarchais opened a session of Parliament with his hopes for success and prosperity in the life of "Little Willie" as he has been affectionally called by his parents and relatives. The monetary grant was substantial, about 1500 or so Anglian Pounds, and the plaque that the Lawson family has recieved has enshrined William's birth in the annals of Anglian history forevermore. In an interview, Charles Lawson says he proudly hangs the plaque in his house as a token of his thankfulness for recieving "yet another blessing" in his life.

The Lawson family has announced that they are amazed at the size of the donation from the Free Republic of Lamoni which was accepted and distributed around the community and beyond. "....At first, I assumed it was a joke but when I actually saw the trucks of diapers on the television....I was just....amazed!" Mrs. Lawson said in an interview with reporters.

The Lawson family graciously accepts the Imperial gift albeit they already had baby moniters for them to use; the nation of Anglia, as well, gives thanks for the generous gift of the Iowa class battleship which is now on show for people to see.

OOC: Yes, people can still send gifts and best wishes.

To: HRH Queen Charlette VI of Anglia

The Empire of Mephras would like to congratulate both you and the people of Anglia on the birth of your billionth citizen. We, having recently passed the four billionth mark, know both the joys and challenges of a fast growing and fertile population. May your nation continue to grow in both size and prosperity. As a token of our kindness, we would like to send a sum of 3000 phrans (approximately 6000 NSD) to the family to ensure that their child gets a healthy start in the world.

May our nations always meet in peace,

The Lawson family is thankful for the gifts provided by the Mephrasians and the Tanurians and desires to report that little William is doing fine in the care of his parents and that he has become quite the celebrity all across the nation. The family is very thankful for all the support they have recieved according to reporters and, as well, the Lawsons recently met the Queen of Anglia who showered her affections upon the little infant at the palace where she lived.
