The Liberation of GWO [ATTN GWO]

The Northern Baltic

Official Communique to GWO
We, The United Worker's Republic, refuse to tolerate your trampling of human rights, raping of national sovereignty, and imperialist doctrine. No longer will we stand idle as you destroy the foundations of liberty and democracy. No longer will we stand idle as the cities of innocent nations lay in ruin, their women violated and their dreams shattered. No longer will we allow you to keep the iron shackles on not only other nations, but your own people. We will liberate those you have enslaved from your iron rule and we will do it at any cost.

Bay of Nations, The Northern Baltic
A massive armada, the biggest the people of the UWR have ever seen was now leaving port. The mutli-national armada that was made up of the navies of several UWR members, now left The Bay of Nations, accompanied by thousands of support ships. Two million UWR ground troops were also brought along in the armada, along with armored vehicles, heavy weapons, and tons of ammunition. 1,500 automated merchant ships traveled near the center of the armada. They all carried a special cargo that the nation of GWO would bear witness. This was an attack on the population center of GWO. They would be victorious or they would die in the process.

Glorious Republican Navy WESTCOM

There was no fanfare, there was no real notice. Letters were just sent out to recall Marines and Naval servicemen to their stations. They left at night, aiming to arrive at night off the coast of Uranium, one of GWO's colonies. The stories that come out of Uranium, of the wastelands of what was New York, now a sick training ground for the psychotic special forces of GWO's insane leader. How nearly 90% of recruits die while GRIFFITH-II, watching on satellite, furiously masturbates to the infrared blooms appearing on his screens as a bullet finds its mark into hot flesh.

Then there was the other rumors, no solid intelligence the higher ups were willing to share. Of a zombified populace, mindlessly serving out the deranged orders of their leader. As they sailed toward their target the men on board exchanged stories of children running toward liberators crying their eyes out, with a grenade in their hand, of women who were chained to beds and ruthlessly raped by soldiers to breed 'supermen'. These stories would only become more brutal and detailed as time went on, and the stories mixed.

Algeristani Strip, Glorious Republican Sky Force Base, classified location in the mountains

It was very sudden, PROJECT DAISY was suddenly active, and all the theory and work were now being tested. The rocket was fueled up and it launched into the sky, to place a Soyuz-TMA module, in the next few hours and 5 more Soyuz-TMA modules would be launched. Each one was autonomous, loaded with random metal bits to weigh it down. They began forming a little chain as they linked up. A silent space station forming on its own.
The Grand World Order

The Spire, Magna Polis

The Grand Commander had fallen asleep at his desk. His computer screens were still on, providing a seemingly endless ticker of world events. "UWR DECLARES WAR ON GRAND WORLD ORDER" flashed across the screen, going unnoticed by him. Of course, he would find out mere seconds later when all three of his "Second In Command" men marched in.

Heinrich Slaag, the infamous leader of the Special Tactics Force, approached the man's desk. Fleet Admiral Erane J. Buwan and Marshal T. "Tootall" Briggs stood a few feet away. Oddly, while Marshal Briggs was standing at a full 7'4" (Hence the name "Tootall"), Admiral Buwan stood at a mere 5'10".

Heinrich placed the communique on GRIFFITH-II's desk before calmly starting to speak.

"My Leige, it seems we have a problem. We've got a bunch of happy meals trying to stop the Order's endeavors."

The two other men rolled their eyes when Heinrich said "My Leige." The use of that term was restricted to S.T.F. Agents.

The Grand Commander woke up, fully understanding the situation. He didn't show any expressions of shock or fear, instead simply saying; "Wake the populace, pull all national security systems to Maximum Wartime Readiness. Admiral, start activating the Magna Polis Watermine Program. Initiate full-scale Naval Patrols for all coastal provinces. Try to find their fleets with our satellites. Marshal, start finding some babies and start stitching C4 into their stomachs. We'll have fun with our little tot-bombs, now won't we? Unless of course they turn tail before they can face us on the ground."

All across the GWO, the propaganda telescreens began giving the Grand Commander's "Urgent Message". He appeared behind his desk, much like any typical political announcement.

"My loyal citizens. This is your Grand Commander speaking to you.

As you may or may not know, our nation has been targeted for a brutal, imperialist left-wing invasion. We do not know where they will strike, but we do know that they will be civilian-murdering animals. They will try to hurt you. You are encouraged to purchase any weapon your Citizen Level permits you to. We will need you, citizens, to help push the forces of evil from our great lands. Our courageous military will be there to help you. You will need to help them, too. Our enemy may be vicious, but they will stand no chance against the might of our Order. They will try as hard as they can, and many will die. With your help, it will be them who die, and not us.

Please report to your nearest Civilian Control Station or Military Installation for further instructions."

Kika Mana, Leocardia

Just as the bulletins were posted, a load of Leocardian marines and sailors lined up to their post. Little did they know they were in for a military deployment overseas, and is possibly the invasion force, they chattered about what they did during their 6-month break from the military. As they entered their posts, mostly in Longboat classed ships, the bulletins of deployment were removed. Some noticed the bulletins, but the bulk of the men were still unaware, it was time to test them how prepared they are when they are going to be placed into the battlefield.

Kika Mana Naval Base

Upon receiving the 10,000 order of the Longboat classed ships from its fellow allies, Naval Commanders were notified their deployment of 4,500 of the fine ships of exclusive Leocardian variants. Little did they know this was the invasion force that carried unprepared men, they confirmed to the orders and immediately sailed toward allied ships to the enemy's shores. The soldiers and sailors in the ships knew nothing about what was going on, but thought they were heading to Makoki Isles, in peacekeeping missions.

Kika Mana Presidential Palace

With no media broadcasting the planned strike in further notice, Leocardian citizens were unaware of what was going on in the President's Office at the start. This day suddenly flickered all media broadcasts to the President's Words of War, and the information that 4,500 Longboats and a total of 200,000 soldiers from the Elite 67th Northern Corps.

The command ship, Kapusta, began watching the coastal buildup and the full naval patrols coming off of Uranium. They were in the Atlantic, over a thousand kilometers away from the nearest shore. But the Admiral, Admiral Essex, a veteran of the American campaign who is credited with the destruction of 3 enemy navies, targeted the larger naval patrols. Satellite data was routed through to the Red Square class Arsenal Ships, and he had picked the 5 closest naval patrols near their target on Long Island.

10 Khan antisuperdreadnought missiles lifted off from the Red Squares. They would accelerate to the upper atmosphere, descend at supersonic speed as they reached their target, and then break off into seaskimming mode where the cruise missile would now cover nearly 100 kilometers in seconds at hypersonic speeds. To prevent interception in this terminal phase it was loaded with decoys, but it wasn't as if there was much warning for Khans.

The warheads upon impact would use a shaped charge to punch a hole through the armor, and mere microseconds later when the warhead detects itself surely embedded inside the ship, 1.3 metric tonnes of white phosphorous designed to burn a ship down and release toxic fumes at the same time.

Another Khan lifted off, one with a modified warhead designed for time delay not impact delayed, not exactly kosher with the original creators but this one was used to assaulting moderately hardened population concentrations. It was targeted to what looked like a large gathering on thermals. Intelligence said it was a Civilian Armament Center, or Civilian Center, or something where Civilians gathered to group together, only seen when war was declared against GWO. That one would come down at a high angle, and would be nearly flat upon impact.

When they were used against heavily armored coastal artillery units in the American Privateer, they started a fire that burned for more than a day and fused the gun to the concrete and the men running the guns.

At the secret mountain base, modified Progress modules, fully loaded, were launched. In the next day 20 of these would be launched from 5 launch pads, each one to hook up with the unmanned Soyuz modules.

About a few months ago, the TPFians invaded GWO and Greal secretly sent seven divisions disguised as GWO troops (Two hundred and ten thousand men) to help their ally in need. They never saw any fighting and now, they were getting ready to head back to Greal. New orders arrived and the Greal divisions would have to disguise themselves once more and fight with the GWO army. Besides the two hundred F-22 Raptors that arrived as a present to the GWO air force, the Greal army would rely on GWO equipment. General Haddock then requested orders from the GWO military.
Wanderjar
30-08-2008, 03:54
The whir of aircraft engines subsided slowly as Colonel Bryan Warden descended the loading ramp of his C-17 cargo-freighter. Having landed aboard a United Workers Republic Assault Carrier, he was the last to leave his base behind, ensuring that all men and material’s left their Wanderjarian base as they should. His Executive Officer (XO), Lieutenant Colonel Adam Rand, had been the first man onto the ship which their allies had graciously allowed them to use as a command craft. Regimental Combat Team 2 of the 1st Marine Assault Division (MAD), was to be the first ashore during the invasion of the Grand World Order.

He was wearing the typical uniform of a Wanderjarian Officer of Marines, scarlet red blouse with black pants, having two scarlet red stripes running parallel to each other up the legs to the thigh. He also wore his maroon colored beret with eagle, globe, and anchor bronze pin on the crest. A stern man, he was known for his spartan, austere habits of self-denial of the creature comforts some officers granted themselves, as well as the demand that all men in his charge be training for war constantly. He was not, however, mean by any respects. He deeply cared for his troops, and would die for each and every one of them. He allowed them the time they needed for mental, spiritual, and physical rest between training sessions, and was known to allow his junior officers to host activities on deployments which all would find enjoyable. Yes, many said he was a top notch officer for unit building.

He was also a war fighter. The Regimental Combat Team, the chief tactical unit of a Marine Expeditionary Unit, was a combination of four infantry battalions (1000 men each), two Armor battalions (250 tanks each), Light Armored Recon Battalion (200 LAV-25s, 1000 Marines + crewmen), a Supply and Maintenance battalion (S&M), Command Company, and a Helicopter Company. The total troop numbers equaled some ten thousand men. This force was one to be reckoned with. RCT-2, however, was not alone. There were three other Regimental Combat Teams participating in this campaign, the whole of the 1st MAD (40,000 men). The 23rd Marine Combat Wing was also participating in this operation, referred to as “Operation Serpent Spear”. The resulting occupation and installation of a Libertarian Democratic Republic would be designated “Operation Serpent Shield”, but planning for this had only been done in brief outline, and the Marines would not be involved after the first month.

Colonel Warden made his way to the Tactical Operations Center his XO had established upon arrival. This war room, again graciously furnished with the latest in satellite imagery (provided by both UWR and Wanderjarian sources), as well as maps, battle plans, target listings (for strategic and tactical bombing), as well as small comforts for the troops such as coffee machines, and various drink dispensers. He made a mental note to thank the ship’s Captain for going through the trouble. He was being led by a Petty Officer of the UWR, who introduced himself as “PO-2 Suvorov”, through the gray-blue bulkheads and down several flights of stairs to the quarters his men had been allowed. Finally, they arrived, and two Sergeants stood guard with their G-174 rifles. They snapped a quick salute, which he returned with a curt nod, and carried on past.

As he entered the command room, his S-1,2,3 on up the staffer level, were hurriedly running around collaborating with their battalion level counter parts to stamp out last minute preparations for the “Prep for Combat” phase. They all ceased momentarily when an unseen enlisted man yelled “Officer on Deck!” They turned, faced him, and saluted sharply.

“At ease men,” he rasped, his deep baritone booming. “Give me the skinny.” His Exec hustled over.

“Well sir, we’ve got everything settled in. All battalions are ready and waiting. Final preparations being made, though as we all know they never cease until boarding the LAV* (Light Armored Vehicle, APC used to transport troops ashore)!” Both Colonels chuckled. “At any rate, combat readiness is as high as it can get, the men are below decks hollerin’ with rage and demanding fascist blood.”

“Exactly what I want to hear,” He snarled gladly. “Our boys are fighters and killers. Mean sons-of-bitches.” Lt. Col. Rand nodded agreement. “I’m going to address all officers in exactly thirty minutes, have them assembled in the briefing hall. Meanwhile, give me the Operations Officer, he and I need to go over the plan.”

“Aye aye, Colonel,” Rand nodded, and with a salute, he hurried off to carry out the orders. Seconds later his S-3, Operations Officer Major Christopher Hemming approached.

“Major, give me the lowdown on everything.”

“Aye, aye Colonel,” He replied with a nod. “First of all, we don’t precisely know the enemies strength. We can safely assume, however, that it numbers in the millions since the civilian populace has been bombarded with propaganda since the nation was founded. They’re citizen soldier’ll fight, albeit not very well unless they’ve had some kind of rudimentary training. What I can tell you is that our landing sites will likely not be defended very well assuming we pick decent spots and move in a hurry. I’m sure Marine Air and the PAF (Peoples Air Force) will bomb the shit out of anything that does try to resist us though, not to mention the Navy’s gonna pound them until their a fine powder.” The Colonel nodded, the Major continued. “As of now everything is ready to go. Our entire force is ready for deployment. We’ll fuck ‘em hard sir.”

“Right, thanks Major,” Replied Colonel Warden with a nod. The Major too nodded curly, saluted, did an about face, and went off to continue his work. Warden went from station to station, checking anything of interest which could possibly impact his assault on the beaches and establishment of a beach head. Finally, after twenty minutes of waiting, he departed to the Briefing Room accompanied again by Petty Officer-2 Suvorov, who he now found out to be the UWR Liaison to the Marines.

His men were assembled; all officers from platoon to battalion level were arrayed before him sitting comfortably in the plush seats arrayed in the room. It looked almost like a theater, with the seats rising before the stage so the sound could carry through the auditorium. He nodded and began to speak. “Men, within the near future, we will again be going to war. I have served many campaigns with the Wanderjarian Marine Corps, and proudly fought alongside each and every one of you. All of you and your men have made me proud to wear this Eagle, Globe, and Anchor. Now, across this stretch of ocean and ashore are millions of evil, twisted, and deranged fascists, who seek to deny people all across the globe of their God given rights to freedom and equality. Now, Wanderjar don’t stand for that! We are going to move in there, shit kick every one of them fascist rat bastards, and bring them a republic!” The men cheered. “We’re gonna slaughter ‘em! Every one of those fucking fascists who foolishly stand before you is going to die and you are going to smile about it. Years from now your grandchildren will look at you in awe of your tales of this day, and the killing you do on behalf of a grateful nation and world. These assholes have picked the wrong fight. No nation has ever fucked with the Wanderjarian Marine Corps and survived to tell the tale, and this campaign shall differ in no way. Good evening gentlemen, good evening Marines. Tonight you prepare yourself. Tomorrow, we go to War!”

***

Back at the Presidential Office, State President Christopher Blair paced his own war room, while his Chief’s of Staff stood about, patiently. He was somewhat nervous. Recently elected, this was his first war and excitement did not even begin to describe the emotions he felt. Wanderjar had a long history of bloody conflict, though typically the vast majority of this blood was spilt by those who foolishly opposed them. He hoped, desperately, that he would continue this tradition and lead his people to an important victory.

“Mr. President,” Chief of the Navy, Grand Admiral Richardson said calmly with a smile, “You are doing fine. We have this campaign planned out completely and entirely. We are going to win. You yourself approved the war plans for all aspects. Even now our own battle-fleet is heading at full speed to join our allies in blockade of the GWO and her allies.”

“Thank Admiral,” President Blair said with a grin. “But those damnable butterflies won’t leave anyhow.” The entire room laughed. They were all on edge. Each of them had fought, commanded, and seen innumerable conflicts themselves, but every new war brought about the same reactions. Adrenaline rush, border-line fear, and the rush of relief with each success. They were all confident in the Marines, some of the best maritime based infantrymen in the world. The President opened his mouth again, and slowly began, “Well…I guess all there is to do is wait.” And with that, wait they did.

***

Several hours later at Division Command, aboard another UWR Assault Carrier, Major General Daniel Moore sat easily in an office chair at the head of a large cedar wood table. He was smoking a chewed cigar, cuban, and surrounded by his own General Staffers. The Regimental as well as Battalion Commanders had also been ferried over to the ship for this meeting by helicopter.

"Well boys," he said grinning, "Looks like we've got ourselves another little war to fight eh?" The staffers nodded. "Yes sir," he began again, "This is gonna be a good one, I can feel it. We need this war. Those Fascists have been allowed for too damn long to ruin the lives of the people of the world. Their stain needs to be erased. I do believe that the first Marine Division is the one to do it too." The Staffers chuckled heartily.

"Sir," Brigadier General Thomas, of the Marine Air Wing said, "I believe we should start with a thorough bombing of the enemies beach heads before we land our men, I did see that notation in your dossier but it was not expounded upon."

"Right, I figured you would work out the details. I'm an infantry commander, a grunt. I don't know nothin' about air fighting. I'm going to leave that to you, since thats your expertise. I'll tell you what I need done, and you hammer out the details, savvy?"

"Works for me. Thank you for the clarification."

"No problem. Any other questions before we adjourn to quarters?" One man raised his hand.

"Yeah Steve, whats up?" Brigadier General Steven Hutchinson was the Intelligence Center Commander for the Division.

"I wanted to point out that the Fascists have been opening military outposts to the civillian population, giving them weapons to form rag-tag militias. They'll get slaughtered in droves but the fact of the matter is that they're still armed men and will certainly cause no shortage of trouble after we win."

"I figured they would," the General responded. "Thanks for the heads up. We aren't going to be involved in occupation, initially we'll do some patrolling but most of that is going to be left to the Army once they get here and our UWR friends. However, make sure everyone in the Division knows to not get caught with his hands around his crotch. We need perfect alertness to keep everyone safe. Understood?"

The group echoed "Yes sir! Understood!"

"Good. Meeting's over boys. Get a good nights rest and report back everything to your junior officers. We're gonna need the rest, God knows the next time y'all're gonna get it."

Official Response on the Declaration Against the GWO

It has come to my attention that there has been a call to arms against The Grand World Order for violation of human rights amongst its populace. While this could be possible, the world does not yet have solid evidence of said violations except that they're rumors. And with that ind mind, it is not only not logical but goes against all international codes to threaten the sovereignty of a nation under false pretenses.

I, Prince Martin Leichstur II hereby announce that me and my nation are fully against this choice of action against The Grand World Order. I am truly disappointed in the international community for making action its first choice and ignoring diplomacy. completely. If there can be a diplomatic solution to this problem Leichstur will gladly host the talks of terms and treaties regarding the treatment of the GWO's citizens.

In response to your offer of talks and request for proof, I don't see what more proof is needed. Not only has the GWO shown total dissregard towards a fellow nation in terms of soverignty, he has openly offered a training program for other nations to participate in of the kind that no normal human would endure but forces his own troops to go through. If that isn't against human rights, I don't know what is.

Response to International Objections

While this may be true that The Grand World Order does not respect national sovereignty of a nation this does not warrant an invasion of this caliber. Also, speaking of military, The Republic of Mt. Id states that the GWO has a training program of difficulty that endangers human lives. If this is true, which may or may not be due to the pure lack of evidence again, this does once again not warrant an invasion of this scale. If the GWO's military is designed to weed out individuals in a deadly manner that is his preference and should not be influenced by the international community.

While we do not promote Fascism nor directly support it, it is a nation's decision to choose its government and the nation's choice alone. So far from what i'm looking at is a collection of Communist countries invading a fascist state. This does not look like a war in the name of human rights but a collective communist effort to erase fascism. If it is in the people's interest to replace the fascist government of the GWO with a more liberal government then it is their decision and in their hands to do so.

Off of GWO
The over 5,000 alliance ships arrived at their destination: 200 miles offshore of GWO. The alliance ships began a blockade of GWO. No ships could come or go. If any ship attempted to run the blockade, repeated warnings were issued. If those warnings were not heeded, a warning shot was fired across the ship's bow. If the ship did not stop then, boarding teams were sent to stop the ship by force. The noose had been placed around GWO's neck. Now it was time to tighten it.

When the commanders received their orders from the alliance, they were ready. Their new, clean Longboats were ready to be tested for the many years Leocardia will be using them, and they should be ready with a crew ready to kill. Sirens inside the ship was rung and all sailors and marines headed to their battle posts, not knowing where they were and why, until their captains posted the real-situation bulletin, War in GWO, Longboat Command deployed, the bulletin read.

Each of the marines boarded the stationed helicopter, each stationing behind every Longboat, ready to board defiant ships with force. Every one of them were equipped with the standard naval rifle, MP5, in the naval helicopter... ready for action.

This was taken directly from a message the GWO sent out to all nations inviting them to participate in their training program. It proves that the GWO has no problems with possibly causing the injury or death of a soldier as long as they get the job done, not to mention turning them into mindless killing machines. If this is the kind of concern the GWO has for foreign soldiers, imagine how much less they have for their own.

Semi-official stance on the Invasion of the Grand World Order

First, most citizens of the Confederacy of Third Spanish States are skeptical on whether the intentions of this operation are to truly liberate the Grand World Order from Nazism, rather than to replace the totalitarianism of the same with the totalitarianism of Stalinism, considering some of the involved powers, and even if democratic nations are involved, such event could still have the creation of a new Stalinist police State as a consequence. In our belief that the only lasting freedom is that the people of a nation have personally fought for, we believe that this operation will be highly inefficient compared to a revolution successful enough to draw the majority and will threaten to annihilate the sovereignty and cultural identity of billions, and we have heavy suspicions that there are goals of annexing territories behind all this rhetoric of fighting for freedom that many others have ushered.

Second, the deployment conventional military force will only strengthen fascism. With an external enemy threatening the sovereignty of the Grand World Order, even those who secretly hid their dissent will ignore their thoughts about the government and fight for their own national sovereignty, and even consider the establishment a necessity, for like a certain writer has said, War is Peace.

Third, forcing a people to be free is an utter contradiction, and as military action presumes curfews and other authoritarian measures to maintain order over occupied territory, totally abhorrent. The only way to truly achieve freedom is through a revolution spawned from the will of one's own people. Sometimes such requires a certain incentive, but sending in foreign troopers to your backyard isn't a good motivation for you to oppose your current government.

Fourth, the Grand World Order presents no real threat when political behemoths of more than half-dozen of billions of inhabitants with long experiences in military technology and tactics dating from centuries do exist that are not actively participating of this conflict. There could be much more efficient manners with much less bloodshed, although more long-termed, to achieve the same goal. From our point of view this is likely to be another imperialistic land grab.

Therefore, in accordance to our reasonable and cautious foreign policy, we pledge full neutrality to this conflict, and shall watch over its developments, in the hope that our suspicions about what could be the real intentions behind it are proved wrong. We hope that you might reconsider your operations, and that no matter what happens, freedom prevails.

Sun Tzu said: In the practical art of war, the best
thing of all is to take the enemy's country whole and intact; to
shatter and destroy it is not so good. So, too, it is better to
recapture an army entire than to destroy it, to capture a
regiment, a detachment or a company entire than to destroy them.

If I am not mistaken, our invasion will give the oppressed population the neccesary means to be able to revolt against the government and free themselves. Until now, the people have lived in terror and been unable to extract themselves from underneath their cruel dictator. With us on the way in, the people should be able to fight with us or atleast escape from the utter control of their current dictator.

To support this case, I would like to make it publicly known, to supporter nations and the people of the GWO, that Mt. Idian troops will do everything in their power to prevent civilian casualties. As long as no weapon is fired or threatend to be fired at my troops by civilians, we will not target them.

Coastal Patrol Grouping #6, off the shore of Uranium Province

Grouping #6 was one of the larger Patrol groups, no doubt. It contained ten Frigates, five Cutters, and 15 Marine Attack Boats (MABs).

Obviously, the Khan missiles had no problem taking out the Frigates, and the shrapnel put four MABs out of commission and caused a major water leak in two of the Cutters.

As the Frigates were blown apart, shouts of "Oi! Oi! What just happened?", "Mein gott!", and the obvious "What the fuck?" came from the Marines aboard the small MABs. The remaining MABs fired off their dumb torpedoes in the direction they believed the enemy fleet was before scurrying off towards the shore, while announcing via radiowaves that the group had come under attack.

Uranium Province

The Khan had been detected by Uranium's Missile Shield System, which had been designed to detect missiles ranging from Tomahawks to ICBMs. When it came hurtling down at the city, several MTHEL laser systems targeted it and its decoys before firing their high-energy beams at the missile. Of course, the shrapnel of the missile killed a few civilians at the designated area.

Meanwhile, the city quickly issued an Air-Missile Raid Warning. CCU forces quickly began trying to get all of the civilians into bunkers, though the populace would still be vulnerable for about half an hour.

The city's shore defense weaponry began searching for the enemy fleet, and when it found it, almost all of the long-range weapons systems were to be utilized. Cruise missiles and shells of various sizes filled with Cesium (A very small amount creates a massive explosion when it reacts with water) were hurled at the enemy fleet. Occasionally, a missile or shell would be tipped with Depleted Uranium so that it could easily penetrate the ship, release the Cesium, and create a massive interior explosion once water was added...and water wouldn't be hard to get on a ship. Then, the initial explosion would either blow the innards out on smaller ships, or cause a chain reaction on larger ships.

((OOC: Sorry if the MTHELs hitting the missile seemed a bit godmoddy, I haven't been in an actual war for a long time. I'm rusty.))

Magna Polis

A collection of Civilian Militia (And a few Civilian Control Officers) had gathered in a park, watching as a Marine Corps Captain stood on a "Domestic" bunker. He had a brand new MI-8A2 in his hands, contrasting with the hordes of Kalashnikovs, Saigas, M-16A2s, M100s, and other weapons of almost every brand. A Divine Tiger rolled down a nearby street, coupled with a pair of uparmored M113 clones. He raised his MI-8A2 in his right hand before shouting, "Citizens!"

The crowd fell silent and diverted their attention to him.

"The bigwigs say they don't know where the enemy is going to attack. Time and time again, it has been shown that any enemy goes for the capital! Magna Polis is no exception. To prove we're better than they are, we're going to go into battle, we're gonna fight, and we're gonna win! We're going to fucking dash these commy bastards' glam jam ((GWO slang for brain matter)) out over our storm drains, and then we're going to impale their corpses on pikes!"

The crowd cheered and screamed, raising their rifles, machine guns, and SMGs in the air. Several USSR flags and flags of the invading nations were being torched in the park.

"Give those red twits no quarter, citizens! Kill every last whore you see! Give them the old chop-chop!"

Chants of "Sieg Heil fur das Foderation!", "Kill the bastards, kill!", and "Raise high the flag!" echoed throughout the city streets.

The city looked like a military coup de'tat (Which would make no sense; The military already is the government) was going on. CCU Cobras flew between skyscrapers, Divine Tigers and other armored vehicles rumbled about. The actual forces of the military had been called out to assist the MPCCU in keeping order.

Outside of the city, miles of underwater minefields sat waiting to explode. MABs and CCU boats were able to skip across unscathed, but if a full-sized ship even dared to come through without a smaller vessel to guide them, it would become pollution in seconds. Submarines wouldn't be able to get through without extremely tricky navigation, which would essentially leave them as sitting ducks to the GWO's T-212 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Type_212_submarine) submarines used for domestic protection and stealth operations.

((OOC: BTW, Mt. Id, that was put in there so that a nation wouldn't try to sue/attack the GWO because of an accident. GWO training is only a bit more dangerous than USMC training was before they had the regulations they do today. For the Special Tactics Force, of course, it's a whole different story.))

Off of GWO
The old merchant ships were now activated. Four gigantic cylinders were raised into a vertical position on each ship. A message was sent to GWO: We will now release an extraordinary weapon on you. It is designed to minimize civilian casualties. No citizens will be directly killed by this weapon.

Our of each cylinder came a Topol-M missile. With the ability to avoid enemy air defences, due to the fact it carried decoys and countermeasures, the Topol-M was the perfect candidate to carry this weapon. In all, 6,000 Topol-Ms were launched, all carrying the same weapon.

As the Topol-M reentered the atmosphere, the missile separated and the six launch vehicles for each missile found their targets: densely populated areas as well as several military bases all across GWO. The secret weapon was then released: hundreds of Explosively pumped flux compression generators were activated when the missile when the missile smashed into the ground. The EPFCGs were EMPs, designed to disrupt any and all electronics. This was only the beginning for GWO. The noose had only been tightened slightly.

The city's defenses had been designed to fight off hordes of ICBMs, so four Topol-Ms probably wouldn't be much of a problem. Hordes of CIWS sites were turned towards the incoming ICBMs, along with a wave of ABM missiles, MTHELs, and stronger non-mobile versions of the MTHEL. Each laser had the ability to target three things at once. Even if the Topol-Ms could survive a laser hit, multiple ones would certainly damage them.

One of the Topol-Ms slipped through due to human error. It slammed through the artificial island's ground and into the water. What it would do from there, nobody knew.

((OOC: Repost and fixing of the EMP attack against Magna Polis. Original Post: Here. (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13968410&postcount=17)))

Magna Polis

As the 6,000 Topol-Ms plummeted to the ground, the city's defense systems did all they could to stop them. In the end, 1,500 of them made it through.

Had the attack been from Northern Baltic's homeland, the number of missiles making it through would be incredibly lower. But the ICBMs were being fired from essentially point blank range, not giving the GWO Missile Defense System's Airborne and Space compliments a chance to act, other than a small amount of satellites and ABLs from other provinces.

Most of the civilian electronics had been completely disabled. The city's Civil Control system had been severely damaged, but was still technically intact, as the vital parts (Sector Control Mechanisms) had proper shielding.

Even with the EMP, the invasion of Magna Polis would be a difficult task. The EMP didn't destroy the blockhouses, bunkers, Flak Towers (Though they were stronger and used modern technology), or Sector Gates. It didn't kill any of the defenders; instead, it only made the civilians even more pissed off. Some of the laser systems couldn't stand the EMP, especially MTHELs, but more than half were still functional.

A force of 80 T-212 submarines split up and began heading towards various parts of the enemy fleet while utilizing their AIP system, which would produce no exhaust heat and produce unnoticeable vibrations. Once in range, they had orders to utilize their Cesium munitions on the ships. Each sub had a payload of defense missiles that could easily be launched from underwater and target ASW helicopters and other aircraft.

Leocardian Naval Command
From the bulk of the 4,500 Longboat Class with special ASW technology, sirens were still on, and the warning red light in the ships still flashed. All bunks and rooms for the sailors were empty, and all units were using their ASW equipment on full alert, they knew submarine warfare would be quite popular for the enemy, since they've mined their coast heavily. ASW naval multi-utility helicopters prepared themselves as action may be leading with force.

To disrupt the mines in the coast, Leocardian ships fired multiple 'dummies' through their torpedo pods, hoping to detonate them and make an open path to the coast.

Under the waters of Magna Polis

The T-212s slipped through the maze-like gaps in the underwater minefields with ease. They had received the directions for safely passing through the hordes of magnetic mines, which weren't attracted to them.

They were just in range of the enemy fleet now. Each submarine pack prepared to release their torpedoes, filled with the ship-devastating Cesium. Each torpedo could probably split a smaller Dreadnought in half if aimed right. Their missiles were prepared to shoot upwards and hit any ASW aircraft that dared to come near.

"Colonel," Regimental Executive Officer Lieutenant Colonel Adam Rand said, requesting Warden's attention, "Apparantly we're going to strike a Drug Deal." The Colonel sighed.

"Ah hell. Inbed reporters?" Colonel Warden replied. A Drug Deal was Marine slang for allowing reporters to inbed with a unit to report what occurs in a conflict. Sometimes it was beneficial, though all too frequently they were simply annoying and got in the way.

"Yeah, from New Britonnia Broadcasting Corporation. I'll stick them with Battle Company. That Captain has his shit together. He'll keep them safe, secure, and reporting as they should be."

"Alright Adam, thanks. As soon as they land, have the crew come down here and meet with me. I want to personally introduce them to Battle CO and make sure they know my rules."

"You got it, sir." With that, Lieutenant Colonel Rand saluted, did an about face, and exited the War Room. Time would tell how the NBBCC reporters were treated by the Marines of Battle Company.

Under the waters of Magna Polis

U-75 was the first to notice the incoming munitions. Quickly, the 533mm torpedoes essentially flew out of their tubes. The other submarines quickly discharged their tubes before trying to retreat. The torpedoes were fire-and-forget.

The T-212s turned around and began trying to retreat. 35 of them had been destroyed, and 20 more had been severely damaged.

Another Submarine force was being prepared; This one numbering 50 T-212s. The unharmed submarines from the initial force would be added, increasing the force to 75. Each submarine had been fitted with powerful sonar jammers, normally unnecessary for their main duty of monitoring the waters around Magna Polis.

Individually, the submarines might go unnoticed, with the jamming signals and such. However, with the arrival of the Wanderjarian fleet, and in such large numbers, this force would be relatively easy to spot. Air Superiority flights by Marine Air Wing-2 would be seeking out these positions, albeit high above the air and escorted by EA-6 flights to jam the sensors of enemy missile systems. Once enemy SSNs were sighted however, their coordinates would be reported for engagement by the Wanderjarian Anti-Submarine Warfare ships. The fleet planned on making an immediate encroachment on the submarines position and chased them actively with helicopters. Should missiles be fired, the EA-6s would hamper their missile's tracking systems and Mogami Air Defense Cruisers would fire anti-missile ordinance in their defense. Furthermore, these missiles would give away the precise location of the GWO submarine fleet, and thus present itself for destruction by air assets from Wanderjarian Marine Air, USSNB Air units, and ASW DDs. The Fascists were dealing with an exceptionally experianced and well drilled military, one which was not easily defeated.

The submarines would be utilizing their AIP systems alongside their jammers. Detecting them would be almost impossible with the most common ASW techniques.

The submarines separated into packs again and began slowly making their way through the minefield...

When the enemy ships were just barely in range of the 533mm torpedoes, the submarines quickly launched their munitions and began to retreat. If an ASW helicopter were to follow them, the packs would simply lead them towards Magna Polis's anti-air systems.

This is Assault Carrier AS-147. You have permission to land here. We have good accommodations for your journalists.

The S-76 began to lower its elevation as it was given clearance to land. Carefully, the helicopter landed and its engine was turned off. The door opened and people came out, five of them to be precise. Importantly, were the broadcaster, Igor Thompson, an African-Brittonian in his early forties with a shaved head to conceal his baldness. There was also a camera man and a boom operator. Also, was a sound engineer and an intern lighting technician, who was commonly just used as a gopher. The people were wearing light, casual clothes, all wore Kevlar vests and helmets, for protection.

The five of them walked out onto the runway, all lugging their equipment and items which were secured in aluminum cases. The cameraman, Rodney Bareilles, has a it of the load taken off of him. He was holding a small Sony digital camcorder in is hand, trying to get all the images that he could,. In fact, the camera was continuously rolling from three in the morning, when the man woke up, until now, where he was smiling and waving while taking images of the many sailors and ships. The news crew began to walk towards their military liaison.

OOC: You're aware that AIP is not as silent as Nuclear power, correct? And you firing torpedoes gives your position away anyhow. Also FLIR makes ANY heat signature or carbon emission plainly visible, so in such numbers you're generating a MASSIVE carbon well and heat signature from your crew's bodies.

"Fish in the water," An officer said calmly aboard the command deck of one of the Destroyers. "Will engage."

"Engage at will," The ship's Captain replied. The ships continued their pursuit, while deploying noise makers and flash weapons to generate competing sound vibrations and heat signatures for the enemy torpedoes to try to lock onto. The EA-6s would also scramble the torpedo's tracking systems, thus rendering them all but useless.

Meanwhile, Supermarine F-2 fighters strafed the surface of the water with Air-to-Sub-Surface muntions, designed specifically to sink below the water in search for submarines. Anti-Submarine Warfare helicopters cycled throughout the area, peppering the sea with torpedoes, missile fire, and mines. The Destroyers were moving faster than the submarines would possibly be able to, thus catching up to them would be relatively easy. Firing main guns and torpedoes of their own, the sheer volume of fire would eradicate any enemy presence in the region. If any enemy submarines did manage to survive to return to port, they would be few and far between.

Within hours, Wanderjar most certainly would have naval and air superiority.

With allied ships shooting and performing their stunts against the enemy, Leocardian naval commanders had no idea where to start in their assistance with their allies. The radioman flickered his button, frustrated on what is going on, and channeled into their allied encryption channel.

The T-212 crews knew that they had been spotted. They figured that they should simply do as much damage as they could while trying to retreat.

Hordes of Sub-to-Air missiles shot out of the water's surface, while a few more torpedoes had been loaded up to be fired upon the hostile destroyers during the retreat to either the city or a Defense Platform.

The City's Artificial Defense Platforms turned on their own electronic warfare equipment while simultaneously preparing their anti-aircraft batteries for any Wanderjar aircraft that came near them.

Several packs had been completely destroyed, and others were being damaged by the minute.

The city began scrambling elements of the Magna Polis Air Defense Unit, sending a total of 150 F-22s and 30 F-23s into the air, along with a few AWACs and EA-18 Growlers. The fighters would target the ASW aircraft from beyond the range of most ship-based AA munitions. The Growlers would deal with the Wanderjarian destroyer-based SAMs.

In addition, most of the City's defense fleet had begun forming up from behind the minefield.

OOC: You're absolutely right, but in SMALL NUMBERS. Thats why submarines are effective, they're supposed to operate in groups no larger than three to four, usually singular. They're functionally the sniper's of the sea. Operating at eighty units however will generate ENOUGH of an abnormality as to be spotted. So yes, you are absolutely correct and I never doubted that, I meant that in large numbers that they generate noise, heat signatures, and noticeable vibration. Its unavoidable. ;)

An example I suppose you could use is having a person whisper in an empty room. He'll make little noise. But if a shit load of people start whispering in an empty room, it'll be quite audiable. Maybe not what precisely they're saying, but enough decibals would be generated as to give off the signal. *shrug*

The Wanderjarian Pilots knew not to pursue the enemy into range of Anti-Air Defense systems, and pulled back before getting too close. The few wolfpacks which did survive to regroup would be eliminated soon enough. They immediately were replaced by a second wave of aircraft, who targetted the AWACS and Growler aircraft from Beyond Visual Range to attempt to pick them off to prevent their usefulness. Meanwhile, other aircraft would begin firing on the incoming fighter craft, hopefully thinning their numbers out significantly before they could get into gun range of the Wanderjarian pilots. Should they achieve this proximity, the Wanderjarians would be able to fend for themselves, hopefully eradicating the last of these pests, but casualties would be unavoidable, something every commander wished to minimize the possibility of.

The force being scrambled was being led by Rear Admiral Shady Nyblade (F23 Pilot), by far the most respected fighter pilot of the GWO, and possibly one of the most well-known worldwide. He also was one of the very few high-ranking officers that weren't white.

His wingman, Captain Simon Charles (F-22/F-35 Pilot), was the first to notice the incoming aircraft.

"Ah, the blutteh reds thunkin' aboot an air battuhl now!" he shouted. His Scottish-Cockney accent was thick enough to make those who weren't familiar with it laugh.

"Pulverize them, now, men!" replied Admiral Nyblade.

Captain Charles echoed this order with a heavy Scottish "FIYAAAAAAAAHR!"

From the force of 180 fighters came a mixed gargantuan wave of MBDA meteors and AIM-120 beyond-visual-range Air-to-air missiles. The MBDAs would zero in on the hostile planes at a speed of over Mach 4, while the AMRAAMs were the cheaper missiles that were slightly more abundant than their German-made counterparts.

Of course, the fighters had other missiles ready to be launched, but the planes weren't close enough to the enemy to use them.

The missiles heading for the GWO aircraft quickly came under attack by the electronic warfare equipment on the Growlers, doing upon them what the Prowlers had done to the submarine force's torpedoes and anti-aircraft missiles.

Meanwhile, the Growlers got to work on the incoming missiles, prioritizing the ones targeting them. The fighters would have to use their own electronic countermeasures. More MBDAs and AIM-120s were fired, this time targeting the MiGs.

When the volley of missiles hit, 50 fighters and three Growlers went down.

The 325 additional fighters let loose a volley of 840 assorted missiles when they were in range, mainly AIM-120s and MBDAs. Slowly, the entire force began edging towards the city. After firing off another volley of 400 Vympel R-77s at the retreating planes, the 400 Mig-1.44s returned to their assigned carriers.

10,000 more Explosively Pumped Compression Generator filled missiles were launched at the enemy, however this time, the Scud-D, not the SS-27, was chosen to carry the EMP. Only coastal targets were picked: factories, shipyards, and military and air bases. Shortly following the Scuds came thousands of cruise missiles aimed at coastal positions, militia arming and grouping centers, as well as airbases, military bases, and government centers.

The SCUDs launched at the city would be viewed by historians later as cannon fodder; Why else would a nation launch so many at an advanced anti-missile system when SCUDs could barely escape Patriot systems?

Of course, it wasn't a dumb move; It caught the system off guard when the cruise missiles came. The missiles slammed into parks, gun stores, CCU stations, civic centers, churches; seemingly anywhere there was a bunch of people. The massacre against the civilians would prove to be a bad move, most likely, as the government quickly began using the massacre as propaganda. The civilian populace was becoming even angrier, constructing home-made bomb vests and transportable torture-traps...

Then the order was given. The Air Force was to send a bunch of ABL systems up, along with hordes of fighters, to fly over the city. They would be out of range of hostile anti-air systems, unless the hostiles were to come into the city's own weapons systems. Attacks against the blockade would be stopped, hopefully giving them a false sense of security. Most people knew that land warfare was by far the GWO military's specialty, with its ground forces being perhaps one of the most feared in the world.

A storm was also coming in, a very decently sized one. Of course, rain wasn't something Magna Polis wasn't used to. Almost every day there was rain on the city, as the "waste" heat sent out by the exhaust system boils much of the seawater, which rises up only to condense again over the city.

Of course, the GWO had later plans to deal with the hostile fleet. For now though, they simply wished for the war to hit the ground. Hopefully it was becoming apparent that the only way the invading forces could disable Magna Polis' defense systems without destroying their own stores of missiles was by ground invasion...

Far off the coast of Uranium

The shells, torpedoes and short range attacks of a spasming coastline went really nowhere. At this range, only the cruise missiles got through. And then they went up against the outer air picket, which began picking off the long range attackers. Finally the CIWS systems and antiair missiles of the fleet took down the remainder. Only one got through and went down in flames, showering a frigate in debris and burning a sailor.

Admiral Essex recieved word that a news agency wanted to embed with their reporters in. He ordered his subordinate that they would only allow a single reporter, a print journalist, as dragging around 10 or so civilians in a war zone with equipment would be too difficult. A wire was sent containing the conditions, must purchase own vest, helmet, and can only bring a limited set of materials, including a laptop and a modem to send his data and whatever he could carry in his pocket. A little note on the bottom said a 4.6mm pistol would be issued along with a 12 gauge pump action shotgun if he so desired.

He should have been embedded with a rear echelon unit, but a filing error occurred. Instead he'd join up with the Saharistani Colonial Marines, in First Recon. A letter was passed onto Lt. Nathan Ahmed of First Recon Battalion, a reporter would be embedded with his scout group.

Finally, the order came out. The coastal bombardment was to begin. The UWR was about to learn even more about the city's power. Skyshield systems, MTHELs, Metal Storm systems, and numerous types of CIWS guns were almost as abundant as telescreens. And of course, many had the ability to take down artillery and mortar shells.

The bombardment would really go nowhere; CIWS systems aboard the ships surrounding the city (Though a noticeably large gap was present in front of a series of small docks and boat ramps) as well as the city's own systems would begin making quick work of the bombardment. Of course, now that the enemy ships were in shelling range, the city, along with its defense platforms, quickly retorted. Anti-ship shells ranging from 105mm mobile howitzer-based cannons to the massive Iraqi-style Superguns and 800mm cannons that were essentially modern Gustavs were being hurled at the ships like rice being thrown at a newlywed couple.

Even this wasn't an example of the GWO's power. They were waiting for a landing force to arrive, then they would plan to wipe out the hostile fleet, leaving the invaders stranded in a massive city ready to butcher them. The resulting massacre would hopefully be unbearable for the UWR's citizens, and ideally, would instill that the GWO, along with Fascism, was superior to them.

Of course, it was all a military theory being tested. If things took a turn for the worst, the GWO had other plans to deal with the force.

In the city, citizens were charging to their bunkers. Even with the expansive shield protecting them, an occasional shell or missile would get through. Obviously, most people would rather choose going into a bunker than taking their chance with a horde of missiles. This, however, meant that many of the military/paramilitary personnel were busy with crowd control and keeping order, especially CCU personnel (They are police, after all).

As the artillery shells began raining down on the UWR blockade, several dozen ships were hit, several fatally. However, this was done mostly by mere luck as it was challenging to predict the course of moving objects such as ships as well as due to the low radar signature of the ships as well as their active camouflage.

Within minutes, hoards of helicopters were launched. Armed with satellite and radar jamming buoys, they were designed to make the entire blockade invisible to the enemy: ships could move, gun emplacements cannot. The fire from the ships was now redirected on the small gun emplacements situated around Magna Polis. Utilizing both guns and cruise missiles the fleet poured fire on the gun emplacement islands.

Marines quickly planted C4, various explosives, and an occasional bio-chemical bomb filled with small amounts of either Hydrogen Cyanide, Sarin, or Anthrax.

MABs and small ships began heading towards Magna Polis. At each platform being attacked, a small patrol boat slightly larger than a golf cart would park itself barely within view. If any ground teams were to be sent to secure the weapons on board, the boats had orders to detonate the charges.

The missile defense systems, still damaged by the EMP, were shooting down as many missiles as they could. While the SCUD-D was a primitive missile that could be shot down by modified Patriots, it still was a volatile missile.

2,343 missiles made their way through to the city.

In the Spire, GRIFFITH-II sat his his head in his hands, his eyes peeking through his fingers.

"They're not taking it. They just aren't. They're too smart. No! They're too cowardly..."

He was the only one in the office.

"Send the fleet. Send the whole damn navy! Sink their damn ships!"

He called upon Fleet Admiral Erane J. Buwan. He ordered him to call forth the Magna Polis Defense Fleet (Every last ship in it) and nearly half of the entire GWO Navy from uncontested Provinces.

Thousands of warships would soon be on their way to Magna Polis, with satellite jammers and SBLs covering their advance. The Defense Fleet had been mobilized. Their CIWS systems, including their THELs, were fully operational. The two Super Capital ships of the Navy, the FWS Grand Justice and the FWS Grand Commander were present, though shielded by hordes of other ships. The Super Capitals were massive; both were essentially the result of a Super Dreadnought having a child with two Nuclear Supercarriers at once.

The Defense Fleet would only appear to be taking standard defensive positions. Unknown to the Northern Baltic fleet, the Grand Commander himself was commanding the FWS Grand Commander, and Admiral Buwan was commanding the other Super Capital.

Standard recon flights were still flown, though since the enemy had not yet made a move, an increase in patrol ship and patrol submarine patrols were also made. Then, suddenly, the satellite was being jammed in several GWO territories.

This was the cause for an alarm: another 2,000 Longboats were sent to reinforce the blockade and hundreds of Il-28T and Mig-19 drones made the passage to land on the several 10 mile floating runway stripes. There, they were fueled and fitted, by use of an automated refueling and arming system. Each Il-28 was armed with two shkval torpedoes, while each Mig-19 was armed with one Type-65 torpedo.

The Defense Fleet knew that the other GWO Multi-Fleet would be arriving within the next few hours. It made its move.

The ships, covered by jamming technology, made their way through the "holes" in the minefield. The moment the fleet was through, they headed full-speed at the enemy fleet. Since they knew the hostile fleet was under jamming, they knew missiles would be useless; just as their missiles would be useless against them. 3,500 F-22s and F-23s were flying above the Defense Fleet. Communications jammers were released against the enemy.

Once the enemy was in visual range, the cannons opened up. A few of the larger ships had extremely heavy cannons; 800mms weren't the largest weapons present. A few camera-guided missiles were launched, filled with deadly Flechettes. These were to target the enemy bridges with the intent to wipe out most of the command staff. The massive runways had been sighted, and their positions were relayed to missile sites in the city. The missiles would ignore all input after launch, protecting them from jammers.
