The Imperial Intelligence Agency released a statement early this afternoon, confirming the disappearance of Emperor Irasur Seawind.

The Emperor was aboard a government plane returning from a visit to the Colony of Thenrya three days ago. The pilot reported minor navigational intrument failures while flying over Miller Island, an uninhabited sandbar in the Pelagic Ocean. Several hours later, the pilot contacted hte Imperial Oceanic Aviatory Radio Office to report a major systems failure, but stated that the problem had resolved itself shortly thereafter. No further signals were sent from the plane.

The Imperial Meteorology Office, Secriat of Science, reported that the plane had caught spinoff from a tropical storm at about the time the last signal was sent.

Search teams from the Imperial Military and the IIA failed to return any evidence of the Emperor or his plane, and further investigations led to theverdict passed by the IIA today:

"We have, after much searching and analysis, come to the conclusion that Emperor Seawind's plane was downed by severe weather. We have classified the Emperor as missing and presumed dead."

Also aboard the plane were the Emperor's wife, Víoleta Seawind, a flight team of three, and an Imperatorial Guardsman.

The Emperor's two children, Imiara (16) and Arkan (12), have been escorted to Krovenirene Castra by the Imperatorial Guard, where they are being housed until they return to their home in the Xirya Colony. Chancellor Särden Evergreen has assumed the Emperor's position until further notice, and the Clan Council is preparing to convene in order to elect a replacement.

I, David Aposon, as President of Uiri, offer my sincerest and deepest condolonces to a nation who has clearly proven to be one of Uiri's closest, most trustworthy ally and overseas neighbour, particularly in Africa and Arabia. We hope that Kiravians and those close to the late Emperor and his Empress may hold their heads up high knowing they died in one of the roles most important to the proper functioning of the Glorious Kiravian Empire with its many overseas possessions.

I was shocked to hear that one of my dear friends was presumed dead after a horrible tragedy struck. This came to me not long after you and your husband both visited the Ixanian Empire to my delight. The entire Ixanian Empire sends its sincerest condolences to you and your family along to the entire Kiravian Empire for the loss of your beloved husband who was one of Ixania's many friends and whom we could easily trust and take a liking to. Please remember that you are in our thoughts and that the Ixanian people hope for the best for you and your children. We can only hope that you will be able to move on from these days of sorrow and find peace. Remember that Irasur may be gone in the flesh but that his memory lives on through all the memories you have of him. Please know that the entire Ixanian Empire is saddened by this unexpected event and hopes that Irasur's replacement shall reign with good thoughts, good deeds, and a good heart and that he or she brings the Empire of Kirav to greater heights.

The Kiravian people have always been forthcoming to us as friends and have given us much respect recently. As one of the sovereign rulers of the Monavian Empire, I must express my regrets, both those of myself, my dearest Queen, the Chancellor, Parliament, and all of the people who have come to know about His Imperial Majesty's possible death, and the death of those who accompanied him on his final journey.

Should the Emperor and and the others be confirmed dead, know that my condolences, and those of all Monavians, are sent out to the people of Kirav. Due to my presence at an international summit, I shall be unable to attend any funeral that may be held for the deceased, but I offer both the hope that the memories of the dead not be forgotten, and that the friendship between us shall not be dissolved.

Having also heard of the losses suffered by many royals across the world, especially our closest neighbors, I will also extend my protection and welcome to you and the children of the Emperor.

If you or the Kiravian people have any requests on behalf of the bereaved, please send a reply directly to me, so that it may be fulfilled.
