International Diplomatic Meeting held in CM! (Open)

Conserative Morality
08-06-2008, 05:31
President Gaius McDermott rubbed his eyes, nothing but the glow of his computer illuminating the room. His eyes bleary from the long hours he spent sitting here, staring at the computer monitor.

Message from the Senate:
President McDermott:
We request that you hold a diplomatic meeting for all nations who wish to to attend. Please do so by tomorrow.

Gaius let his head drop down onto the keyboard. "Why me God?" He slowly lifted his head once more, and slammed it against the keyboard. A loud gunshot, and several screams echoed from Pug Square. Sliding his hand over to a small button on his desk, he muttered into the speaker: "Mark? I need you to schedule me for a diplomatic meeting. No, not with THEM again, once is enough, just any nation we haven't cut off diplomatic ties with. The ones who we haven't any embassies in are fine too, didn't you hear me? Thank you." Slowly hitting the delete key on his computer, he started to type up a invitation...

Official Message from Conserative morality:
As a token of our goodwill to all nations, we would like to invite any national leader who wishes to come, to come for a meeting tomorrow.

"Shit, that's no good..." Gaius sighed again. Rubbing his eyes, and popping in a caffeine pill, he started to make another invitation...

Official message from Conserative morality:
We would like to invite all willing National leaders to a diplomatic meeting in CM's capital, Pug city. We will be meeting at the Presidential building from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Best wishes.
President Gaius McDermott

Gaius looked over the invitation scornfully. It was crap, but he wasn't awake enough to type anything else up. And he didn't want to hand the job over to his secretary, not after what happened last time. "Ah, it'll have to do." He said to himself as he prepared to hit send. Suddenly, his private Communications system blared up, loud and full of static. "Sir! You have another request from the senate. They want to-"

"Ah hang the Senate! They shouldn't be up this late, and if it weren't for them, I wouldn't be either! You can quote me on that one!" He snapped, holding the small button on his desk, and turning the outgoing volume to full blast. A small voice squeaked over the Comm system "Yes sir." President McDermott leaned over the keyboard, and hit 'send'. He was asleep within the minute.

OOC: This is not taking place in RL time, and it's as open as heck. Just waltz in, say hello to poor McDermott, and let the conversations begin. Exciting, I know.:p

Garret Linsares
Prime Minister of the Promethian Republic of Faxanavia and her Associated Territories

The official Ministerial limo slid silently up to the doors of the Presidential Building at just before 3:00 P.M. Garret Linsares stepped from the back of the car, his graying hair blown back by a light breeze. He approached the door, and passed through. Looking about, he realized himself to be the first one there. He stood, awaiting the arrival of somebody official looking.

United Socialist States of New Brittonia

On the Behalf of Prime Minister Crouch and HM Grand Marquess of the Blue Isle Victor Cecil XXVII, Foreign Minister of the United Socialist States of New Brittonia, Nabila Katchab, wishes to attend this conference.

Signed,

Deputy Foreign Minister of the United Socialist States of New Brittonia
Kimiho Saibara

-----

Two Saab 9-3 Sport Sedans rolled up to the front door. Out of car one, the Foreign Minister, Nabila Katchab, the Lebanese Brittonian hijabi Muslim woman that represented New Brittonia to the world, while the Prime Minister took care of domestic issues, came out. Out of car two, the two assigned bodyguards came out, one a Korean-Brittonian, the other one was White. They were both the typical Brittonian bodyguards, tattooed men, fat due to the fact that they weighed at least 300 pounds, but muscular, all wearing black pinstriped suits.

The bodyguards teamed out and each one took the Foreign Ministers side, although remained several steps behind, the Korean to the left, the white to the right. Together, they entered into the conference.

Garret smiled. "Most likely they are. But, with one thing or another, one cannot tell the difference between a serious meeting and a wild party these days, can you? I'm hoping to get to meet some new people, and hopefully some new nations. Things are going well with me. The new Senate has been very active recently, helping to undo some of the, how shall I say, blunders," He laughed quietly to himself, "of the Bochick administration."

OOC: It's been rebuilt... In another spot of course, radiation don't go away too fast :p It's just a meeting to begin relations with other nations and get to know national leaders.

President McDermott walked in, dressed in a smooth business suit, and visible circles under his eyes. With long, sure strides, dress shoes clicking aganst the smooth marble floor of the ballroom, he walked to the center of the room. Spinning around on his heel to face the current guests announced in a loud voice: " I'd like to welcome you all here today, and thank you for coming to this meeting." He rubbed his eyes quickly before continuing." I hope this will begin a long and healthy relationship, both on a personal and diplomatic level. The food is on the left table, and don't touch the roasted Pug!"

Walking calmly towards the Duke and Garett, he extended his hand. "The Duke I presume?" He smiled nervously at both of them, and made a mental note to take a social interactions class when this was over.

"I am hopeful." he answered simply, knowing she liked simple responses.
"Perhaps, if all goes well, Col Bianco shall reccomend your rise to my own position upon my retirement." she suggested.
"Perhaps." he said woodenly, and they entered the ballroom.

The ambassador and his family had just got settled in, shaking off the feeling of unfamiliarity with their new abode, and Ambassador Oxford finally felt comfortable as the Commonwealth delegate to the country. He was just reading his morning paper, the People's Reporter when his secretary came in.

"Comrade-Ambassador," he said, "We have an official communique from President McDermott to Premier Galindo. requesting a diplomatic meeting."

Oxford read the printout quickly, scanning it a few times before looking up. "Send it through and tell the Premier we expect a welcome response."

Presidential Residence, Meridian City, CFUS

Premier Galindo had been awake for hours, reviewing his opening remarks for the speech he was to give at the Ground Defense Academy graduation ceremonies. As he crossed out a whole paragraph, the door to his office opened as his Secretary of State approached.

"You're still working on that?" he asked as he walked up to the Premier.

"Here to help or criticize?" Galindo asked as he looked up from the offending paragraph.

"Neither, actually," the Secretary apologized. "You got a meeting with President McDermott. It was sent through our embassy there."

"I see," the Premier replied as he read the communique. "I guess I should leave soon." He looked down at the speech, "I could work on it on my way there...plus, it'd give me a chance to see the new embassy..."

"Now that's the spirit," the SOS answered. "Will you have Ms. Lexi accompanying you, or..."

"Well, you're the Secretary of State, Marko," the Premier answered, "Besides, I think Samantha is a bit tired of being dragged all over the world."
