Short Description
Kolto was one of the first members of the Argonian National Navy's STAB teams. The Seabourne Tactial Assault Boarding teams were designed to retake captured vessels stolen by the Insurgent forces during the long and bloody Modernization War. Kolto, a retired CW4, was the leader of STAB Team 2 until an unfortunate stroke of bad luck left his team slaughtered and his career blacklisted. It didn't help that the following operation, which was to retake a captured cruise liner, was severely botched by the Army's Special Forces team sent to aide the STAB team already deployed to the vessel. Kolto retired shortly afterwards, deciding to use his talents elsewhere. Like all Argonians, Kolto is natural swimmer, capable of respectable speeds beneath the surface, where he can remain indefinitely should he so choose. His new position with CMS seemed a natural choice, since he'd be doing much the same work as he was doing with STAB, and getting paid a whole lot more.

Kolto, like all STAB operators, is an expert at knife-work, and prefers to kill at close range but that's a disturbing trait of all Argonians. The close quarters of a vessel at sea make for prime opportunites to cut someone up without much threat of being spotted before its too late. Kolto's equipment is also direct STAB standard issue, at least in the items he carries. The Kriss Super V is a new SMG design capable of throwing deadly .45 ACP rounds at an incredible rate of fire while maintaining light recoil, making accurate automatic fire with a man-stopping round a bloody reality. To enhance things, the weapon accepts Glock 21 magazines in either 13 or 25 round capacities. The Glock 21SF, or 'slim frame' allows for much more accurate follow-up shots and enhanced recoil control over the original Glock 21. Kolto's favorite tool, the Mercworx Proeliator is almost large enough to be classified as a short sword, but is well-balanced and easy to wield, especially in the hands of a master like Kolto. While normally fitted with surpressors, Kolto's firearms remain unsilenced from now on. He's no longer the invader, but the defender. This expeirence and training will make him a valuable asset to any vessel protection team, and Kolto is more than a little eager to use his skills again.

OOC:
The setup: A CMS squad of 5 has been deployed on the international shipping vessel "Wind of Good Hope." The squad was airlifted to the Good Hope while it was still 3 days out from the Strait of Malacca. Guy Boothby has been deployed as the operational manager for this mission.
In accordance with the CMS's standard protocol for navigation in the Strait of Malacca, Guy has instructed the pilot to set a course 15 miles off the coast of Malaysia. While most attacks come from the Indonesian side of the strait it is not unheard of that pirates will come up from Indonesia and hide in the Malaysian jungle.
The "Good Hope" has been traveling in the Strait for 13 hours now and is preparing to enter one of the narrowest sections. The local time is 0200 hours and the ship is traveling under overcast skies but the onboard stormcast equipment shows nothing of interest.

IC:
Guy is standing with the pilot and captain on the bridge. His men are working under standard operational protocol for the Strait of Malacca (constant surveillance).
"What is our exact position captain?" Guy inquires.

The captain lowers his head over a monitor considers it and replies "currently about 14.5 miles south south west of the Malaysian coast. We are approximately 400 kilometers from Singapore. We will have to reduce our speed as we enter the squeeze point ahead but we are on schedule."

To Guy the words "squeeze point" seem eerily fitting. He wishes that they were past Singapore and that his men could go back to standard protocol, at least then they could sleep on shifts. But that will have to wait for the next 10 hours or so as they inch their way up that strait.

"Captain..." the pilot cuts in, his voice uncertain.

The captain turns to the pilot and he continues "Captain, it looks like there is a vessel paralleling our course..."

This of course is not uncommon in the strait, given that there are only two directions of travel... but Guy knows that in this part of the world anything the least bit suspicious deserves attention.

Guy unclips his radio and holds down the call button, "Hey Kolto, I want you to get over on the starboard... there is a vessel running with us about 200 meters out, I want you to try and get it on night vision before i put the spotlight on it..."

ooc: so make a new thread with title like "Anti-piracy operations (IC Closed)"?

Also what does MT or PMT stand for in the title of a post?

Also... I assume "open" in the title means people can join in at any time.

thanks.

OOC: It can also mean 'Post-Modern Tech', as in stuff we'd have in the next fifty years or so.

Are you sure you don't want more people for this? There's just two of us.

Let me know (via telegram) if you need and/or want another cargo ship to come in later. I would've volunteered for the main one, but you've already started. I have an oil tanker, container ship, or bulk carrier, all the biggest of their types...
