*The Grand Arbiter looked just as nervous as any, and again, he wished that Lee Jackson Davis was still here to deliver this speech, and not locked up in British Londinium, but he had been Arbiter for years, and he was ready to do this, this was only a fraction of the many speeches and declaration LJD had delivered in his reign. It was the typical delivery platform, the ‘Ice Box’ and he was ready, there were no doubts about this one, everybody liked to see troops come home, but people hated funerals and foreign troops in our territory.*

“Today I have come to address the state of this Confederacy, after much examination, I find the State of the Confederacy to be good.

Citizens of this great Confederacy, I stand before you today, with split emotions, I suppose it would do well to give you the ‘good news’ first.

Today, I announce our troops strategic withdraw from the Haven theatre, in London, Questers. They will be home in about 5 months, after which they will be put on reserve duty only for the next year. Our state of police action against Allena is officially over. This is not our war; we only got involved to help those poor souls in London who were so deprived of the basic needs for life after the brutal Allean air raid. This is great news for us all.”

*A cheer went over the crowd, but it wasn’t especially enthusiastic, this ‘police action’ had been mostly the Arch Military Advisor’s idea, and it had little citizen support.*

“On a darker note,” Grand Arbiter Norse paused for emphasis, “There will be a funeral for many today, a funeral to remember those who died in the oil spill off the coast of Colombia City. We deeply regret the happenings off the coast of Colombia City and reforms have already been enacted to ban movement of more oil tankers through our waters. We are looking into all claims and reports in this accident, and weather or not it was a terrorist attack, we also are looking to sue the oil company, and make sure this doesn’t happen in other countries.

I conclude this address with this last bit of information, the Krapickstani troops that you may see in the cities are here for peaceful purposes to pursue a terrorist leader who has fled their country. This nation has long been intolerable for terrorists, and this does not change for the Krapickstanis.

Thank you for hearing me today, and God Bless.” Grant Norse finished with his usual religious closing.
