This it the Sign-Up and OOC thread for an RP I want to create.
About the RP:
The RP will revolve around an attempted assassination of Prince Ali and its repercussions. The RP will start in the thick of it with the assassin making his first strike and either failing or being thwarted. This could be anything from a poisoning to a rifle shot, which we will need to decide before the RP starts. The first two or three posts (total) will be setting the scene, and then BAM, the attempted assassination post. The assassin will subsequently escape and the RP will begin in true. The main part of the RP that follows will be about trying to hunt down the assassin and bring him to justice as well as the assassin trying to complete his mission.
The assassin's employer/country will not be known yet (and possibly never).
What I'm Looking For:
A few experienced and dedicated RPers that are willing to RP for the story and not for themselves. Be realistic - this is completely MT and there won't be much technology involved. Also, your characters won't have these great connections that can give them anything they need including money and information.
As for characters, I will need at least one assassin and then there is a variety you can chose from. Some ideas:
-Royal Guard
-Another Assassin* (I will limit this to one only)
-Reporter
-Law Enforcement Agent (various kinds)
Or you can think of others
If you want information about certain types of characters like a Royal Guard or law enforcement agency (e.g. if you want to be the equivalent of an FBI agent), ask and I will give/create information.
*Note that if you wish to be the other assassin, you will be working with the first assassin. What the relationship between the two assassins is is up to the two of you. However, know that there will be only one source for the assassins.
About Eborall: Eborall is quite warm and pleasant with an average temperature in the mid seventies (Fahrenheit). The majority of the island is covered in rolling grasslands, save for one tall mountain in the north and the sandy beaches that surround it. It is quite a tourist attraction as the beaches and plains have been described as some of the most beautiful anywhere in the world. There are a plethora of resorts, casinos, hotels, and other entertainment venues that pull in countless millions every year, making tourism one of its two biggest (and virtually only) industries. The other major industry is exporting rare jewels and elements that are found in the deep mines of the island.
The capital of the island is Tia'dar Dieux, a metropolis that sits on the beautiful southern shore. Eborall has many little towns scattered about the island where people can be much more secluded if they want it so. Tia'Dar Dieux is the major port of Eborall, and is connected to its main naval base. The island has seven small military bases in total: three Army, Two Air Force, and Two Navy.
The ruler of Eborall is Prince Ali of the Royal Family, who was born on the island shortly after its colonization by DMG. The Royal Family is made up of four members: Prince Ali, Princess Elisa, their mother Princess Cordelia, and their father who remains a mystery to the public (and nowhere to be found). Prince Ali is twenty-four currently and has done a remarkable job of ruling the island for the last four years. He took over the 'throne' at the appointed age of twenty. The Supreme Ruler decided that it would be interesting to continue the tradition of making Eborall different from DMG and thus created a royal family (this family). When Prince Ali was born the Supreme Ruler decided that he would be the first of the Royal Family to rule at the age of twenty. The Royal Family was treated just like their title would imply, royally; they were built a massive and spectacular Palace and surrounding complex and given the best raising any child could hope for.

I tossed this together pretty quickly and it is kind of sloppy with a lot of missing pieces.
I will confirm/deny people and their characters. Also, I might ask you to make a few adjustments to make them fit better.
I will be controlling a lot of NPCs, but with a lot of them you can create/control them just as well. There are some character who I will ask you not to control such as the head of the royal guard or the princess... obvious ones like that.
That seems to be it.
