Havvy to get Military [MT;Open]

Havvy

Article by Freelancer Terry Franz

Havvy hasn't had a military for 71 years.
Havvy was taken over in a coup 2 weeks ago.
The leader, Jerry Sophrone, has writen a military bill.

Today, on H.71, Sept 29, (H.71 is 2002) it is planned for a bill from the nation of Havvy to obtain an army. This army is suspected to be the same forces which helped take over the country from its past rule.

A military coup happened two weeks ago, but was small and didn't make international news. It lasted for two weeks, and started with the assassination of the President that was in office.

Jerry Sophrone, the current leader and dictator of Havvy, has issued only one law, and repealed many other old laws.

Because of the nation's peaceful past, and isolationistic view, nobody has thought to build a military yet in case of an attack.

The bill will be announced later today.

Follow Up - H.71 Sept. 30th

The bill was shown to the public today, and can be found at http://www.deaticom.71.bills.gov.hv/index.html. (Fake website)

The bill states that the 8,000+ men that helped stopped the two week civil war from lasting years, who served under Jerry Sophrone shall be allowed to become a person in the Deaticom Ground Assault Force.

The Deaticom Ground Assault Force seems to me, the writer, as a fancy way of saying Army.

If necessary, they will be sent into battle, to stop their enemies from attacking them.

Currently though, since weaponry is sparse, and bullets are even more, it is unknown where the nation will get it's weapons from.

Expect another follow-up within the week.

Follow Up, Oct. 3rd (5 days after the above follow up)

It's been a week since the Deaticom Ground Assault Force (OOC: That takes awhile to write) came into existence. Since then, not much has happened.

The 8,000 or so soldiers are not trained, and even worse, they are bickering.

There is rarely any ammo for guns, and the number of guns is sparse. There's a 2 to 1 ration for soldiers to guns.

The army hasn't really had a meeting yet, and there is no clue how the army will work. Everything is in chaos, as smart people are sending in their ideas for the military. Well, some dumb ideas also get in (like to demilitarize).

Also, a press announcement was made two days ago by our leader for the past 3 and a half weeks has sent his looking for aid at the beginning of his dictatorship.

This could mean a bad time in Havvy is coming, but it is not sure.

Now, here is a copy of part of his speech:

"As you all know, I have signed a bill into law, which started the army. This army though, has almost no equipment. We are currently using police-grade defensive units. That is why I shall be looking for some old weapons that other nations are trying to sell.

Also, you noticed that for September, your monthly tax statement was down 80%. Well, I am going to bring it up from the average $400 that it currently is, and bump it up to $500. This is for the protection of the country, and hey, remember, it's still better than $2000 a month, and that's what you payed for in the past.

Also, please don't worry about the army. We don't plan to go to war anytime soon with anybody. It is here in the case that we have to defend ourselves from invaders. That is not very likely, so don't worry."

This story will not be updated anymore.

OOC: The story will still continue, if I can get some people to join it. The freelancer won't continue though.

Greetings Jerry Sophrone,

I, Commandant Zapata of Gauthic's military, am looking to expand our nation's current military reach.

You seem to be in need of a real military.

We can establish a Gauthic base within your nation. It can defend your nation, and we can begin a training program for your troops.

Also, our arms manufacturers can begin selling weapons to your troops, at a reduced price thanks to the convenience of the military base in your nation.

I hope you consider the offer.

ICCD would be willing to sell you materials, and send military advisors, or accept up to 1000 exchange soilders to Dian Military Acadamies. This is at free tuition costs and free barraks style housing and food.

We can also sell you some of our weapons stocks, including more conventional arms and equipment such as m16's, abrams, f16c's etc.. At an affordable resale cost. Feel open to look at our export store as well for mostly unorganized array of just some of what ICCD has to offer.

Thank you for the offer of a military base, but we currently have one coming up in our country under the name of Groznyj and to mainly protect trade interests.

I will be sending a representative to your country to check out what exactly you have for arms manufacturing.

Thank you for your offer, but we will have to turn it down. We currently have a base being built to protect trade interests by another nation.

We will be sending a delegate to your nation though, to talk about things that are for sale.

To: Jerry Sophrone
From: PROHT Arms Ltd.

Greetings,

we hear that you are in a terrible jam, and that you need modern, simple, and reliable, and by all means deadly equipment, training, and organization for your fledgling defense force.

We have a somewhat wide selection of weapons systems mostly suited for fighting overland on harsh terrain under less than healthy conditions for both your men and equipment.

A number of rechambered CM-26 Automatic weapons should be able to serve adaquately as your squad automatic weapon, or eve as your standard assault rifle.

It is apparent your military won't have the funds for dedicated small unit artillery (mortars at company, let alone platoon, level) or massive fleets of counter artillery batteries to deal effectively against enemy long range cannons, to these problems, we suggest you use the HM-320 and MMP-1, the HM-320 is essentally a form of pocket artillery that bolts on under the barrel of your rifle, and can fire a 155 mm HEAT shell at an approaching MBT, while the reletively diminuative MMP-1 or UL-2000 'Minion' are designed to search for enemy rear units such as devestating siege artillry units preparing to ruin your counter attack, or to simply ruin the day of a MG nest camping out in an open field that would have turned the place into an open air slaughterhouse otherwise.

The FMA-6B Turkey Vulture is the most stealthy, reliable and strongest plane for its cost, has excellent low speed handling, and can take massive amounts of physical and electronic damage without any ill effects to flight characteristic. An experianced pilot or two have been known to make a lightened model of this plane 'hover' over an open field on a windy day and load up with a full section of troops in this position via the bomb bay doors. Effectively making it the poor man's stealth helicopter for covert operations.

Speaking of Covert ops, we also have firearms for such cases as well, and can direct you towards some rather good instructors in another company nearby our headquarters, Hurtful Outcomes Incorporated... These are the same people who sacked two of Griffencrest's largest airbases during the hieght of his riegn of terror upon 'lesser nations', and are currently being acredited for the assasination of Claudius Griffencrest himself by some circles, HO inc has yet to confirm nor deny these allegations. It is known however, that they did help train the Special forces of The World Soviet Party in extremely special operations, the likes of which nobody ever hears about.

Yours in dealings:

TOPIC: Surplus War Materials

Greetings. It has come to our attention that your nation is preparing to create a military. Obviously, a military needs weapons of warfare, such as assault rifles, LMGs, anti-tank rocket launchers and the like.

As luck would have it, the Dentara Imperial Military recently embarked upon a massive refit of weapons in use by Imperial Army units. The end result of this is that we have a large number of surplus weapons, and not much to do with them.

We would be happy to offer the following weapons systems for purchase by your military.

M4A1 Carbine - $450 per unit - 22,587 available
M60 LMGs - $720 per unit - 8,924 available
M72 LAWs - $1,150 per unit - 11,852 available
M40A1 Sniper Rifles - $820 per unit - 3,992 available

Please note that, due to the fact that several Imperial Army units are on-duty outside of Dentara, further surplus weapons may become available.

If you are interested in our offer, please send a document listing your interest, a list of type and quantity of weapons requested for sale, and payment details.

Sincerely,
Colonel Arelus Korhan, Supply & Logistics Commander, Surplus Materials Chief Supervisor.

2000 is 1,000,000.

$75000 is the price of one magazine for every gun I'm going to buy.

How many magazines would be good. I know, 100 would be good for now. How many is that?

$7,500,000

Alright, so 7.5 Million plus 1 Million is 8.5 million.

I'll be wiring the money to you.

Jerry Sophrone

Alright, both weapons look nice, but we'll only be buying two thousand L85A2 assault riflea. We'll also be buying one-hundred catridges. The total price according to my calculator is eight point five million dollars.

I'll have somebody wire the money to you. Please drop off the weapons by airlift to a disclosed address found in a private email that'll be sent to you in two days.

If possible, bring them by boat or plane within the next week. Thanks for doing business with you, Federation of Aunesia.

Also, I believe I'll be buying what is called the Chinese Package at another storefront. It has so many guns, I don't think my country will need anymore.

Also, so that we don't exhaust anymore of our already low money from taxes, we will not be buying any more weapons unless specified.

(Check my wiki factbook towards the bottom to see how much we have. Stats are updated for each month that happens to go by. Using fluid time, that will possibly be awhile. Maybe not, I could skip a few months.)

Also, so that we don't exhaust anymore of our already low money from taxes, we will not be buying any more weapons unless specified.

Jerry Sophrone

Right, after looking at what I said, I meant to say "...unless we specify". We will not be buying any more arms at this time.

*Thinks to Self* (Which means nobody else knows what he's thinking)
You know what, even though the forces were trained for assassinations and some basic weaponry with guns, they don't really know how to fight. That delegate I sent to another country to see what they are willing to sell did find a cheap deal on enough guns to keep Deaticom supplied for some time. I could tell him to accept it, and than ask for the training thing. Better yet, I'll just go ask if anybody wants to do a training program for Deaticom.
*End Thought*

Jerry Sophrone, the next day;

I had gotten word of a great package of arms from another country. We shall be buying that, and is something we looked into three days ago.

Also, with that, we have been offered training programs, but have turned them down after some consideration. Well, with some more consideration, maybe a training program will be good. For the next four months, starting next month, we can pay you one million per soldier to a country to get them trained.

Because of our small population, and our low taxes, that will be a great number of federal funds, but that doesn't matter. It's usually the cities that have the most taxes, and usually it's the cities that form pacts for grouping their taxes together to perform a project. The taxes for the country usually go to countrywide things like the administration and our out-of-city projects.

They would probably be happier to know that we are getting a military, as since the country by popular vote (A mandatory voting set up by Havian Press says about 87% (+/- 3%) would like to get onto the world stage.

This is the first step for us to enter the world stage.

We are glad for all the arms offers, but again, as I stated yesterday, we will not be accepting any more unless we specifically look into them.

We will be looking for a big military that can train our troops, and maybe form a good alliance. If we are attacked, we don't want to be 1,000,000:8,000.
