Griffincrest RP idea/OOC thread

Blackhelm Confederacy

I just thought of this idea after watching Alien vs. Predator. A group of Griffincrest mercenaries are sent to Antartica or someplace like that, to find oil. What they actually find is some kind of old alien civilization, and the aliens or zombies or whatever are trying to kill them. You can be a Griffincrest merc, your own little guy (why they would be there I dont know), or an alien/zombie monster thing. Any takers?

...I don't know, I think that there is a certain barrier between Alien (great movie, BTW) and survival horror games. Maybe it's just the FTness, whereas I associate survival horror with modern-day cities or houses... You know, like Silent Hill and Resident Evil.

Yeah, I heard that it's great!
Have you heard of the survival horror classic, "The Resident of Evil Creek"?

(If you don't know the story behind that joke, here it is: back in the 90's, some douchebag sherriff or judge or something decided to crack down on violent video games. He made a report on how evil they were and cited several sources. Among them were "Mortal Combat" and "The Resident of Evil Creek". Needless to say, that guy became the laughingstock of the gaming community.)

Those are good, but you can't really consider those horror movies.
Predator is more of an action movie. Same with Aliens (Alien and Alien 3, however...)
And The Shining is just plain hilarious (The book is great, though).
Halloween is a slasher flick, which is more spatter than horror (although, Myers was the best out of the Kruger/Voorhees/Myers trinity)

Scariest horror movies I ever saw were The Ring and The Thing. The Ring still keeps me up at night, that little girl is so scary...
So, what's the scariest movie you ever saw?

I think the Shining is the Best horror movie. The Ring bored me, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre was scary, but not that much. If you want to see a hilarious movie, watch Wrong Turn. It tries to be Deliverance, and fails miserably.

Speaking of which, theres another Texas Chainsaw Massacre coming out.

It actually is a true story. Unfortunatley I've found out what it was, and I truly wish I hadn't. It was really done by this guy named Edward Garwin or something to that effect. He terrorized some kids not unlike what happened in the movie, and did horrible things to the bodies. I'm not going to describe it, since I dont want this thread to be locked. You get the message anyway.

They made a movie about it in some European country, but I believe it was banned in the US. It was called Saw, but not the one that came out just recently. This one was made back in the 80s.

Really, The Shining? I don't know, I just never liked Jack Nicholson as Jack Torrance. I just think Stanley could have done much better. I mean, he made Full Metal Jacket, for chrissakes.

As for the Ring, the movie was kind of boring, but Samara had some deep psychological effect on me, and I seriously have had trouble sleeping since I first saw the preview for it.

IS Silent Hill, the movie, any good?

I was thinking something along the lines of them being in stasis pods for interstellar travel, sent out to explore worlds for possible conquest. Eight hundred years ago, they got nicked by an asteroid, and crash landed in Antartica, and the stasis pods didn't wake them up...

Shadowmen always carry armour piercing rounds. Just in case. After all, they were here to observe Blackhelm mercenaries, and it's entirely possible that they wear Kevlar.

Plus, if you shoot an armour piercing round at someone without armour, you still get the desired effect. If you shoot a non AP round at someone with armour...

But they probably won't have it in their guns to begin with.

Race: Kioalniah (closest human equivilant to true pronuncation. Commonly called a Kio for short)
Name: Laksi (closest human equivilant)
Height: Six'two" (template form)
Weight: Two hundred pounds (template form)
Skin color: Dark blue. (template form)
Hair: Dark red. (template form)
Gender: The template form has no gender, although Laksi can assume the form of either gender while shapeshifting.
Weaponry: Laksi carries two laser pistols keyed to 'his' DNA signature, which will explode, should anyone else try to use them. 'He' is also skilled in the use of the various forms of alien weaponry to be found on the ship. In addition, Laksi has the ability to morph 'his' limbs into blades equivilant to the strength and sharpness of a katana forged by a master swordsman.
Skills/abilities: Laksi is a capable pilot and hacker. The main skill, however, is that he can change into any form within a reasonable distance of his own size.

I am willing to rp that the base was controlled by the Dark Eternals (name explains itself) and they used the base to create superior soldiers out of the gene polls on Earth. Basically, the Dark Eternals would have taken a number of specimens from the most evolved species on the planet in order to create soldiers those possessed a level of intellect that would allow them to handle simple weapons and be obedient to their Dark Eternal masters. What they would generally do the captured specimens was that they would alter their genetics and/or rapidly evolve them in closed spaces.

These experimentally specimens were later put into contained in storage tanks and use their genes to create clones that be put thru further genetic theory and evolution until they reached the perfect states and when they did the Eternals stored the perfect specimens in storage containers and took a large amount of their genetic material in order to create clone armies of them. With their experiments done at the base they left it and wiped out all files on the technologies used and where they had taken the genetic material, but they left all their creations in their storage tanks. Yet, they did release a number of their specimens back onto Earth where they became the sources of many of the monsters legends including the Yeti, Vampires, Centaur, Cremira, and a many different legends across the world.

Generally, the monsters will still vary hugely in appearance due to the sheer number of different experiments the Dark Eternals performed on them. Also, the Dark Eternals did leave the base operational and nearly all of their creations are either still in their storage tanks or have been released into the base. Yet, before the Dark Eternals did leave the information about how to operate the base and on the evolution of the monster in the form of information on their external and internal changes after each experiment, sadly they did not leave any of their weapons behind and information of the different specimens individual weaknesses.

That could be a problem. It's mostly compatible with mine, except that my alien/creature thing has weapons.

That could be a problem. It's mostly compatible with mine, except that my alien/creature thing has weapons.Alright, then here is a good correction to the problem the Eternals left the weapons that they had trained the creatures to use with them, but they did not leave any of their more advanced and powerful weapons at the base. Also, feel free to make your own types of weapons because the Dark Eternals often customized weapons to suite their creations.

Sorry. TWSP. The Shadowmen use the following.

The ISS system...

Integrated Super Soldier (ISS)

Description:

Command and Control

This area starts in the soldier’s helmet. Each ISS system is equipped with and integrated combat radio system that allows communication within the company and higher. Additionally, each system has an encrypted radio unit that operates on LOS for use between team members. The system will sense a break in the link and reroutes automatically until contact is regained. Voice and data communications can be relayed to the soldier directly or via drone relay links from headquarters, which have downloaded battlefield commands, information and images from forward observers, unmanned air vehicles, remote sensors and other airborne or satellite surveillance assets.

The soldier will also have a GPS System, a dead reckoner, and map displays from the above information to help him keep and up to date visual of what lies ahead. All of this information will be routes through a see through helmet mounted display that can be controlled by a small command pad on his weapon.

Lethality

The ISS lethality capability is made mainly through improved sighting and weapons. The use of non-cooled observation and sighting systems saves weight and logistic requirements.

The ISS can be equipped with the AMA63, 77, 43, and 15 which will be fitted with an enhanced sighting system on the weapon and linked to the soldier's helmet mounted sight. A linked sighting system allows the soldier to fire around corners at the target while remaining in a protected position.

To engage targets hidden in trenches or behind shelters, the soldier can measure the range of the target with a laser rangefinder. The range data is downloaded to the weapon's round and the overflying weapon round detonates at the designated range to strike the hidden target.

Mobility

The ISS system will weigh in at just over 40 lbs of equipment with the regular compliment. The machine gun will up the weight a little bit but still well within manageable specifications. As stated in the C&C section, the ISS is equipped with a GPS System, a dead reckoner, and map displays that give the soldier the knowledge and mobility he needs to get the job done.

Survivability
The clothing reduces the soldier's visual, radar and infrared signatures as well as providing personal temperature control and environmental protection. The clothing has wireless technology to interconnect the ISS components.
The grades of body armor protection will be selected for different operational requirements.
The integrated helmet provides ballistic protection and an interface to other elements of the battlefield network. The helmet-mounted display can show the battlefield situation, with wearer's position, positions of friendly and hostile troops and equipment and prioritized targets, as well as the downloaded imagery from his weapon sight.

Sustainability
The ISS system is made to be one of the most durable advanced infantry systems available. AMA guarantees that just one ISS will have a combat life of 15 years barring any type of combat damage to the unit. The unit is easily maintained but prospective buyers should realize that if any part of the armor section of the system is damaged, it is best to retire the system that to fix the armor as it will have reduced effectiveness for that point forward.

And as an assault rifle the AMA 63.

AMA63 Assault Rifle

Caliber: 5.56x45mm
Frame: Polymer
Action: Rotary Locking Bolt System
Rate of Fire: 800 RPM
Modes of Fire: Semi-Automatic, Full Automatic
Capacity: 30
Barrel Length: 10.5"
Total Length: 27.0"
Weight: 7.3 lbs
Sight: Free Floating 4 Quadrant Rail
Grip: Black Polymer
Extra: Includes 3 Magazines
Options: AMA III-B Tactical Suppressor, AMA800, AMA500 SSS

Description: Continuing with the high standard expected from both the Aurigean Military and also prospective buyers, AMA. has churned out one of the most durable state-of-the-art assault rifles to date. Using a shorter barrel than one usually sees, the AMA63 is much more manageable than the weapons of other nations. Equipped with completely ambidextrous controls, the lefty of your military will never feel left out again. In terms of accuracy, you needn't be worried as the AMA63 is guaranteed to be dead on for well over 25,000 rounds with minimal degradation of muzzle velocity. The easy to use rail system allows any number of sights from infrared to just plain old optical to be mounted and unmounted without the use of tools. Also, for just the regular foot soldier the free floating sights can be adjusted easily and quickly to fit their overall needs. The AMA63 is completely compatible with the ISS system and in fact is the most common weapon used in tandem with it to turn your army into an unparalleled killing machine.

The Scandinvans

Well, their main purpose is to serve the will of the Dark Eternals which was what they were designed to do, but without any Dark Eternal to command them or any command save to kill all intruders you can basically kill anything you want, but feel free to have your own self will because despite extensive changes in the brains design due to the experiments they still kept many of their initial reasoning and logic centers on because it helped to make them more effective soldiers yet they did eliminate many of their emotions which are regret, sadness, and happiness and the rest of their emotions due still exist in the creatures.

Well, if I did that I will be getting out of my peoples usual persona as the Eternals do not intervene with planets not capable of inter-system travel and the Dark Eternals do not really care about anyone save themselves, but I could always send a number of Eternals to retrieve the aliens from Earth and then leave Earth to its own ends.

Toops, what would the reason for an Akra troop to be here?

:o

Did... did you just imply that Akre Toops is many people?

Akre Toops is a fictional character created by me, he started life in May 2005 as Acco/The Gun Ninja, wielding 2 Uzi's and being the most badass Superhero in all England, then he came back in October 2005 as Akre Sharashka a genetic freak from the Soviet Gulags who performed missions for the GRU, think Soviet Captain America, and lastly came Akre Toops in April 2006, with the original Black Fedora/Trench coat combo plus a few more weapons and a better back-story of being the best agent in the Toopoxican Organisation.

His name comes from the equal opposite created prior to his creation and my alias, Acco Spoot, Acco or Akko is the name of an Israeli port town which is also known as Akre, Spoot spelt backwards is Toops which originally was supposed to be a much short lived fantasy tech NPC race who attacked the Spoot Halflings, but evolved into Toopoxia, so Akre Toops.
