The glare of the sun made the ships gleam, all of them. They were all black, all clad in at least 20 meters of armor, all heavily armed with the latest MAC, MAD, and shield-piercing technology.

Today, they would face two of Sephiroth's ships, in a Competition of Supremacy. To see whose super-ships were more powerful. Sephiroth's Armageddon and Doombringer. Or the Vuhifellian Federation's 3rd Space Fleet. Including the super-battleships of the Nortoga and the Hammer of Thor.

A single message went out to Sephiroth before the fleet readied itself for battle. The message was from Sigma Tau II, a small moon where the 3rd fleet was based.

"Sephiroth fleet, this is Epsilon Erdani local control. You are cleared to enter the system, report to the training grounds once you get inside. Combat will be restricted to a 1 Million kilometer radius around Sigma Tau II. That is all."

"This is Fleet Admiral Karl Lichen Schubaltz to all 3rd Fleet ships! Activate MAD mirrors now!"

"Roger that sir!"

A large, bluish-white light could be seen from all the ships, as their Magnetic Alteration Devices were activated. The MAD Mirrors not only repelled all objects made of metal (at least all objects below 70 percent the speed of light), but they also weakened the shields of all ships around them, not equiped with MAD chips.

"MAD mirrors are activated Admiral, sir!"

"Alright then. The Hammer of Thor will take the point. The Kriushu and Gikongai will provide support on our six. This is only an excerise people. Only load up dummy shells. This includes practice thermonuclear warheads, so you are cleared to use those too. Engage at will."

"Roger that. This is the captain of the Black Dawn. I'll take first shot. Firing gause cannons now."

As the captain finished his sentence, the destroyer Black Dawn turned hard to port, revealing it's massive amount of vulcan machine guns and gause cannons, and began firing shield piercing rounds at the Doombringer. The projectiles' speed was 10 percent the speed of light.

"This is the Black Dawn, I'm getting strange energy readings, they're off the charts! We're pulling away from front line position."

"Roger. This is the Captain of the Nortoga, I'm going in, load the dummy thermonuclear warheads, and fire all weapons on them once their shields are down. All ships keep clear."

The test-electronic wave told the Nortoga's AI system that there was a massive breach in the hull, and that if all systems weren't shut down immediately, the ship would break apart.

All lights went dim, and the radiation shield blast doors in between compartments began to close.

The first of the two mighty beasts of the 3rd Fleet was down for the count, but as the Nortoga pulled away, the Hammer of Thor unveiled its secret...

"Fire all, dummy thermonuclear warheads, breach their shields and send those ships home!"

"Aye aye, sir!"

Facing the two Sephiroth ships broadside, the Hammer of Thor unleashed all of its guns in a massive flurry of blank vulcan bullets, dumy thermonuclear shells, and fake gauss rounds.

As the orbital frames approuched, the gleam of the MAD mirrors became apparent. They were now shining white, but no, mysterious glow surrounded anything, just an invisible magnetic shield.

It was supposed to keep out anything with even the slightest trace of metal in it, unless it had a MAD chip, of course.

Large, blue ion bursts game out of the Hammer of Thor's engines, the dummy energy blasts had shut down the engines, secondary fusion power supplies were already up.

"This is Captain Byakuya Kuchiki of the Infinite Portal, requesting permission to deploy escort fighters."

"This is the Hammer of Thor, you have full permission, deploy all fighters now."

The Infinite Portal was one of only two supercarriers in the entire Space Navy, it's fighter capacity was over 10,000. But, currently, it was only loaded with 2,000 fighters.

Several Longsword Space Fighters began pouring out of the Infinite Portal, their weapons were 9 SSM, 2 QAAMs, 1 anti-capital ship super-torpedo, and one vulcan machine gun.

The MAGI V supercomputers aboard the Hammer of Thor registered the Ravager Shot, and simulated the effects on the Thor. The armor buckled, but did not crack. One, massive improvement in the Hammer of Thor over the Nortoga was it had 10 meters of pure crystal armor, compared to the Nortoga's 2 meters. Higher energy bursts could be absorbed, but the ravager shot severely damaged the outer crystal layer.

"Prepare port side nuclear salvo!"

"Yes sir!"

The Hammer of Thor began to list heavily to its port side, directing its guns towards the Doombringer only this time. 10 practice thermonuclear warheads were fired. The dumy nuke arsenel on the ship was already 80 percent depleted...

"Can the MAD mirrors effect cloaking devices, ensign!?"

"Only if their shields are down sir!"

"Alright, fire the last nuclear salvo! Get the MAC Cannons ready!"

Not only was the Hammer of Thor about to fire it's last nuclear salvo, but it was done charging the MAC guns on the ship, which launched Tungsten-Cobalt shells tipped with Depleted Uranium at 40 percent of the speed of light.

"FIRE"

"How are the crystaline defenses doing?"

"Bad, sir. Even though this is only a test, some of the crystals are starting to crack."

"We can't send out repair nano-robots?"

"No sir..."

The MAGI V supercomputer simulated a giant explosion onboard the ship, courtesy of the Orbital Frames outside.

"Activate defense networks! Get all vulcans and gauss cannons online, now!"

"YES SIR!"

Several hundred vulcan machine guns began firing blank rounds at the OrbitFrame's surrounding the ship, all the while the gauss cannon defense system was blasting dummy DU shells all over the place, in a random attempt to hit something.

As the simulated ravager shot made its way into the Hammer of Thor's MAGI V supercomputer system, an emergency was declared. The two of the three MAGI V supercomputers onboard had crashed, the third and final computer had simulated a real energy attack, completely shattering the outer armor shell of the HoT.
