Tech question

I am wanting to build my military and I figured I had to buy from a storefront the production rights to the US guns and vechiles I want. But I read in a thread that it is open tech and you can produce real-life things without any production rights. Clarification please. Thanks in advance.

The Technical forum is for discussion of technical issues within the game and forums, but not roleplay. Moved to II.

You heard right. Anything that exists in the real world right now (Or in the near future) can be manufactured by you from the word go, as so many people just do that anyway.

Anything designed/shamelessly copied by NS nations requires production rights directly from the original designer.

(Re)Confirmed.

RL stuff is open to anybody, though many people who have NS Storefronts (such as myself) sell RL stuff anybody. Some people like to buy RL stuff from Storefronts because then their own industries are free to produce other goods.

However, I will warn you that RL stuff is pretty overmatched in the NS world. Most (if not all) NS technology is better than RL technology.
