Backround:

Mid to Late 1802
Ottoman Empire puts down the Barbary Pirates in Tripoli and Tunis. The Bey of Algeria claims that he isn't independent of the Ottomans and promising to reign in the Piracy in the Mediterranian. Spain doesn't believe the promise to the Ottomans and acts in concert with Sardinia to invade Algeria, Tunis and Cyprus. After the Succesful invasion, Naples sees a chance to start unification of Italy and invades the unprotected island of Sardinia.

Britain is angered at the Bilateral moves from Spain and Sardinia, the Ottoman empire is a close trading partner and having nations friendly to Napolean in control of the Mediterranian sea, thereby threatening overland trade routes to India. Portugal is also threatened by the overly agressive moves by its much larger neighbor, while Prussia sees an Oppurtunity to put that Republican France in its place and a chance to grab even MORE colonies in the new world joins the Coalition.

Russia is also interested in crushing france, as is Sweden who has also been promised colonies in the new world. Austria is interested in new Allies to support herself in this fight and the Oppurtunistic Aaron Burr leads a moderetly sized force of Militia and Regulars in the United States first war of conquest.

Briatin issues an Ultimatum to Spain to withdraw from Algeria and Tunisia, and Spain agrees. But Britain and her allies are all geared and ready to go, and still feel they need to punish spain for joining with France.

Important!

As Interim Naval Mod, I need TGs and posts like mad about what navy you have where, why and under what orders. Your navy might not have orders, they might not even know about the war (i.e. Spainish and French forces in the New World, British ships in the Far East).

As Economic Mod, I need to know less, but if your country starts trying to raise larger, bigger armies than they have onhand, I need to know where you're getting the money from (a wide variety of ways exist, but almost all have lasting reprocussions).

Bavaria is willing to side with the Allies if they should invite the Electorate. Bavarian troops are mobilized and prepared for battle and could march out on command. The Prince believes that his troops could play a decisive factor and even be rewarded with several small Rhine territories.

SECRET IC TO HIS MAJESTY HRE FRANCIS I:

His Holiness Pope Pius VII strongly encourages Austria to ensure the safety of Catholics in France, as they are the loyal sons of God. If possible, we must secure the incorporation of the Frankish realm back into the HRE. If done, His Holiness will incur a sum of 15% of the dues collected in the HRE to be sent to your tresury, to help sponsor a strong HRE and a stronger union between His Holiness and His Majesty.

OOC: Reguarding the Holy Roman Empire...

Due to some treaties signed by the former Austrian Player, the HRE is now limited to the land actually held by the Austrians and their allied German puppet governments. As for "Let's make France into part of Austria": I think the Austrians would be intrigued by the Pope's proposal. The main goal IS to overthrow the current crazy regime in France, and a Hapsburg King of France, or a France that's once more part of the HRE would be a great thing for him. As for allienating his allies, I'm sure he could agree to it now and worry about implimenting it after the war is over.

[ooc: perhaps I wasn't clear or even misleading when I said it earlier...

During the reign of Louis XIV, many of the German principalities that were west of the Rhine were assimilated into his kingdom. Thus, the HRE and the Papal States lost authority over those states. While in genuine truth it would have been nice to see the return of Paris to the autonomy of the HRE, that was out of the league, since one of the major intents of the Austrian was to return the Bourbon monarchy to France. I was just suggesting a return of the Frankish realm [i.e. Franche-Comte, Artois, Alsace, Lorraine, Louxembourg, and the other Rhenish territories...perhaps Rhenish is the better word to say...]. Traditionally, France was never a part of the HRE, considering that the HRE was a legacy of one of the descendants of Charlemagne, so France in general would not even be considered the "Frankish" realm.

In the terms of the protection of the Catholics, that has no boundaries in terms of French or Frankish...sorry about the confusion in all...]

I'd like to make a suggestion about the Italian Campaign.

That we go back and have 1801 go the Historic route and then follow up with the Historic Treaty, and make it a new front in 1803 in the New Coalition against Napolean(which oddly enough 1803 was the year hostilities resumed against Napolean anway)

Thoughts anyone?
