Securing a Slice of the Strait (Irathria)

HMS Swift

Our position, Ensign?

Outside Transylvanian waters, sir hovering at a depth of six-zero meters.

Very good, Mr. Henderson.

Captain Trevor Houghton ran his stubby fingers across his white mustache. Irathria had begun to writhe under a new era of colonial expansion and at the very least he knew that as the commander of a the nuclear submarine Sandtiger he could very well upset the fragile peace that clung tenuously over the continent.

Upon orders from Breningrad, his sub had embarked two teams of special force Epsilon units and made way for the King John Islands group, where they had quietly embarked an officer of the Royal Navy who had become well-qualified in Irathrian sounding and seabed geography. From Cape St. George they moved under cover of night and calm seas along the unclaimed coast of the eastern southern peninsula until they reached the western edge of the strait.

The past forty-five minutes had seen a slow, but quiet movement until the submarine lay off the rocky coast of a small peninsula, an outcropping connected by a narrow isthmus to the remainder of the point, yet unnamed. However, as no foreign forces had yet occupied the shores he glanced around at the small compartment and nodded to a stubble-faced man whose eyes were hardened brown and whose cheeks held scars of battle. You have a go, Captain, Houghton said quickly but sternly. Diving officer, make your depth two-zero meters and ready the ship for submersible disembarkation.

Any day now, forces from No Endorse were expected to lay physical claim to the whole of the cape from which they would be in a position to cut off trade routes from Kingsland to the new colony in the King John Islands. Although Port Marlton offered a viable route, it meant traveling along the northern and eastern coasts in a wide detour – and the Admiralty wanted a shorter route. Houghton had laughed when they called it for reasons of “fuel efficiency” for the Royal Navy’s deployed fossil-fuel powered ships.

Yet, when the No Endorse forces arrived, they would find this tiny peninsula and its modest rocky harbour occupied by a small band of some of the UK’s most battle-tested troops and the flag of the United Kingdom. They could lay claim to the rest of the land, but not this tiny peninsula. The United Kingdom would not be brushed off by any power at any cost.

Captain, we are at two-zero meters and Captain Reynolds request permission to disembark.

Permission granted.

From a large compartment aft of the sail, several small submersibles rose into the dark waters, their small azipod thrusters guiding them upwards where the seas heaved as the inland sea and the ocean fought over the exchange of currents. Reynolds watched his XO pilot the comparatively fragile vessel upward until it broke the sea just meters from the rocky and otherwise inhospitable coast. Without words the small fleet beached itself and deposited twenty-four members of Epsilon Force and one member of the Royal Navy who would act as liason and launch hydrographic survey probes to accurately measure the modest harbour. It wasn’t the largest, that had been consciensly left for No Endorse to claim. But it would be large enough to berth a dreadnought and a few escorting surface ships. Large enough to make sure no nation in Irathria dared to close the strait to the United Kingdom.

With a quick flip of his wrist, Reynolds signaled his team to quickly unload their crates of ammunition and rations and to carve out secure firing posts in the rocky crevices of the hill. Taking a small cylindrical tube from his own submersible unit, he made his way to the top of the rocky outcropping and quickly dug a hole with the small entrenchment tool that was standard issue. When dawn fell upon the peninsula from the east, whoever happened to be within sight from the mainland of the cape would see the flag of the United Kingdom flying.

IC:

Damn, we're late! The No Endorse first Fast Response fleet drifted in the seas off the penninsula quite a ways. As a fast response fleet, they had gotten there quite ahead of the occupying forces. They were there to stake a claim. Unfortionatly, it would be difficult with the Azazians there.

There was a flurry of communication between the fleet and the No Endorse naval base at Caranda, on the river. Finally, after intense arguing and several threatened demotions, an accord was made, and a radio signal sent to the Azazian troops on site.

Hallo there, this is Captain Fredrick Stevenson of No Endorse Fast Response Fleet Number One. We've detected your presence on a small penninsula here. We are coming to claim this area for No Endorse. However, possession of the entire area is deemed subordinate to good relations with your nation, especially due to proximity.

In the short non-beaurocratic version, we want to get to know you better, and want to get some sort of relations going. As such, we won't bother your claim, and you can claim some more if you'd like. However, as of now, No Endorse caims the remainder of the highlands and coastline near this chokepoint. Additional troops will arrive soon. In the event of attack, I an authorized to use my forces to protect your assets here, and I hope you would do the same.

Another message was sent out. With significant backup forces a mere day away, they were confident that they could hold for at least a short time. It was relayed through Caranda, and from there to the world.

This is No Endorse Fleet One. We hereby claim the area of Valoria in the name of No Endorse. This area constitutes the highlands at the chokepoint entrance to the Inner Sea. There is no need for alarm, we shall not hinder trade. We only wish for a southern colony and a place to relax in warmer waters.

Data flickered on a number of screens as intelligence reports flashed within the Casa Militar Security Command.

"Praetor, I have some unfortunate news" A 40 some uniformed officer said while giving a quick Dian hand salute

"Well out with it" The thick balded noble flexed concerted.

"No Endorse has gone against the International plan and the stealth forces we dispatched may actually encounter direct opposition. Not only this but according to our intelligence a second fleet most like from Azazia has entered the area. We do not have confirmed sightings at this point but the Northern Task Force in Group three and four appears to be at greatest risk. We are not sure on full fleet composition nor the troop strengths. We estimate that full on confrontation amongst various states may flare into an intercontinental war if any parties are serious about staking sole claim to the area, even though it's overall stategic importance is minimal, it does still exist."

"Dispatch the Second task for as planned in contigency to secure a supply route, and to reinforce our two southern positions. I'll send word to the Casa select Trimutave and call an emergency session of House, with the Emperor receiving direct word. Send phased radiowave transmission from longrange stealth overflight, stating for forces to go into highly covert and inform the Taskforce commander that intelligence gather of forces should be a priority, and not to engae unless we come under attack. In case of attack they are to act independantly with priority to hinder and destroy all resources available to the forces in the area." Said in a firm and commanding voice with a mix of disgust and calm.

"Lord Praetor as you command." The hardened soilder then turns and starts an accent up machu pichu mini stoneworked stairs as a host of voices start to overtake the silence from the near feild of the discusion.

The Praetor then goes back to reading the report he was looking at previously, in the top right hand corner of his screen flashed the red captial letters, imminent threat, surely he hopes the command computer intelligence neural nets are wrong.

ooc: couldja link me to the post where you dispatched these guys? I'd like to know about what I'm up against OOC. (I'm not going to use SIC/OOC info, don't worry)

IC:
The reinforcements had arrived several hours behind schedule, bypassing a squall added quite a bit to the distance. However, they arrived in respectable numbers. A lockdown area was established, anything entering within fifty nautical miles of the territory would be hailed and questioned. Troops and supplies began to land in some of the wider beaches, and the construction of prefabricated docks began in earnest.

Submarines lurked under the water, drifting in search of any hostiles in the area. Surface ships established defensive positions aroud landing zones and began patrol routes. It had been planned to a T. A small fleet of supply ships departed from the No Endorse city of Caranda, a city on the river, bound for the landing zones. They would work as fast as they could to get the area secured.

ooc: right in the "come to irathia" thread, two posts link to it, one being speicifc asking if anyone was protesting the move, the final one stated that the area had already been secured. i.e. forces were positioned. I'm not going to rp ICS actions unless there is protest to the idea i.e. someone would like to counter the action etc.. even though they don't know about it I thought it was fair to atleast let people know it was happening. These were posted two or three days ago. Note my forces are using a number of available stealth technologolies such as camo (including EM freq band absorbant paints, anti thermal, organic signature, density masking and visual recognition etc..) Just wondering how large the force was that was dispatched as to get an idea of how large the patrol for the area would be and if you can draw on a map where your forces are exactly so I can adequettely respond. My forces have been operating in the five zones drawn on the one map posted with group 1,2,3,4,5 as proposed for areas of International Irathian Control
On the 28th I 'ended' the move' with this line

"The White area is the area I said I waas going to secure yesterday or the day before. No one raised protest. " [sic] Azazia Uk did state they were also going into the area, but I supported Azazia's plan.

ooc: Can you link? Also, that's not much in the way of RPing a move. It's a LOT better to RP it out, mostly cause it's almost impossible to miss that way. A single line in a huge OOC post doesn't really work. Let's take it to the Irathria thread and sort this out.

I'm fine with the rp, technically you probably wouldn't know that my force composition or location if it went smoothly, it wasn't this mass unloading deployment of 10's of thousands of troops it was advanced recon concentration is largest in the south East, I was geussing that Azazia would secure the North area pretty much. I was hoping for three other major states.. Absena was game so maybe they would take one Zone, and there may have been more interest from various other parties for an international. I think you know and are itching for a little conflict though...

Reynolds glanced at his wristwatch, its face tinted so as not to cast back the tell-tale glint of reflected light – though in the early dawn it mattered not as the contrast between the dark mass of ground and brightness of the sky provided too great a contrast for much visual acuity. Not long before, the passing naval taskforce, on course for the King John Islands, had dispatched several URAVs, which had taken images and stills of the No Endorse fleet from a long distance. It was those very photos that he now held in his hand after receiving them from his Royal Navy officer on loan.

Bloody marvelous, mate. How close were you?

Several dozen kilometers.

That’s an astoundingly high-resolution photograph.

Indeed it is, but that’s not all. Last night the Swift picked up this on her EM mast, the sailing officer said while handing over a single piece of paper, this time with printed type and not glossy photos. Their Fast Response Fleet sent the signal, and that is the fleet in those pictures – confirmation done by triangulation of their radio signals.

And what are your superiors saying?

Lacking the proper communications equipment on the ground, the Atlantic should be sending out a response within the hour, to be timed with the arrival with the first one-five-five batteries.

What of the Marines and engineers?

They’ll be landing with the guns as the taskforce passes through the strait.

And the submarine?

Gone deep for the moment, so far as I know under orders to remain in the channel of the strait to monitor and follow all shipping traffic. And since she’s gone, with your permission, I’d like to deploy the first of the sounding equipment to start mapping the harbour here.

Go right ahead, Lieutenant. The Port Royal is on her way, correct?

Indeed she is, sir. Storms moved back in and shut down port operations for several hours, but she departed only seven hours behind schedule.

Blasted inland sea. She’s a bitch.

Bloody right, sir. The lieutenant stepped away a half-step, with your permission, sir?

Go ahead.

With the rising of the sun in the east, Reynolds looked out over the harbour and then south towards the highlands of Cape Ashleigh. The airborne URAVs would soon record the landings of No Endorse troops on the coast while choppers began to prepare themselves for heavy cargo operations to transfer weapons, material, and personnel from the taskforce to the new garrison at Kinaylesdon. In a few hours, Reynolds would feel a great deal more secure – although at the moment it seemed as if his new neighbours were receptive to him and his men. That was, of course, the way Reynolds and the Admiralty wanted it – but they were prepared for all eventualities.

To: Cptn Stevenson, NE FRFtNo1
From: R Adm Jefferson, CO TF-19

On behalf of His Majesty’s Government, welcome to Cape Ashleigh. The seas are a bit rough as you’re undoubtedly finding out – but I’m convinced that our two parties shall be able to work together to tame these elements.

At the moment, our forces in Kinaylesdon are insufficient to directly aid in the defence of your territory; however, should push come to shove the United Kingdom will be stationing in the coming days and hours both on the land and at sea that will provide significant level of firepower to protect both our new territory and yours.

For the moment, the territory lacks the communication equipment for such long-range transmissions although that situation shall be rectified in the coming hours and our two forces will then be able to communicate directly. In the coming hours a flight of air-defence fighters will also be landing on a gravel strip that will serve as a preliminary airfield. Until such time as your own forces can provide land-based air coverage our twelve fighters can provide such coverage for both our territories. However, it should be pointed out that these fighters are not air-supremacy aircraft but rough-field interceptors designed for just such immediate air defence roles. In the coming days we will be deploying better air assets, but they require prepared runways and such.

You should also be aware that at the moment we are operating one submarine within the channel to the east of the entrance at the undersea formation we term the Devil’s Horns, where the channel abruptly narrows and therein constricting the traffic of larger vessels. We will also be deploying a cruiser to the territory, which will provide air defence roles and counter-battery fire should the need arise. Although with only our forces on the ground thus far I doubt that will be necessary.

To the betterment of relations between our two nations,

Sincerely

Gregory Jefferson

The Dian Chancellory was busier than usual in the past weeks attempting to keep general peace and cooperation in one of the worst storm seasons in the past decade. The Casa Militar had a handful of situations in deep debate, many debates of which were divided with non involvement tending outweight proactive or even dangerous initiatives in and out of the Irathian Continent.

In the time passing in the last month, a second task force or group 3 was sent to the East Irathian Area. The two southern base points were being set up for a secret underground base operation. Density masking fabric and other surface disguises were provided and a number of reconisance scoutings had also occured of the three other basepoints only 1 of the known points, that being the actual straight tip seemed to be nationally contested.

~~~ Cut away to the Imperial Casa Militar~~~
In a large hall 500 meters underground. Many individuals some dressed in the sandy tan military dress uniform and others not take turns speaking into the sound system.
"Of course we need to insure that the straight stays internationally viable, with the Transylvanians strickly enforcing their coast against any foreign ships we only have two options for extrairathrian trade."
"Yes, I understand that, however, can we really afford to attempt to expel any parties that try to close the straight"
"Lord Legatus, if we cannot afford a global war right now, any engagement would be short and swift. We already pledged to support the United Kingdom of Azazia if they will keep the straight international."
"And what if the UK attempts to close the straight"
"Intelligence seems to point out that the forces are mostly Naval Task force at this point"
"Our intelligence working group has stated that we should build a naval platform outside of transylvania's waters, and a subsurface base at the continental shelf. as well if need be make an 'undewater' canal"
"Underwater Canal you got to be joking, do you have any idea how complicated an underwater canal would be?"
"The Senate has already approved an undergrond canal from west to east Farland (the southern land). To insure a second trade"
"What?"
"Yes it is a joint rail sea ground tunnel. The new undergrond highways are being extended to include undersea flooded tunnels."
"This session is focused on the Chokehold"
"Point of Order, reinforce the southern bases, and see if we can get Absena or another party or group to take the second northern point. We will discus the offshore naval base with"
"Interection, the offshore naval platform is not the ideal situation, we may as well just pour the funds into another aircraft carrier. Heck for the price of operating a mobile naval base out there we could afford another fleet."
"I still like the idea of the undersea base, my geuss is we could burry it enough to protect the main body but we'd prolly just be burried or nuked in a real situation? Is there some way we can build the base?"
"We will circulate the reports on a need to know basis. The select council will make the final determination after votes have been cast for available options. The ballot will be handed out at 5pm."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Meanwhile at the chokehold

Densun Iaato dressed in an odd form of scattered mesh camo's including a ventated face mask enteres intoa a hole in the ground which was dug out earlier in the week, and closes it back up after entering.
"Praefectus Castrorum third and fourth group have reported back no engagements have occured, we managed to deploy the remote sensors and other point defences."

A slightly older man with long black hair in a rolled and braided pony tail turn around with a dian hand salute much like an indian 'how'.
"We recieved communication from stateside, we are to not engage unless fired upon. Also the northern posts are not to be engaged in an offensive against any based in the area. We have reinforcements comming as well, including heavy engineers for the two southern groups. The international plan seems to be tilting towards stronger individual interests in the area. We expect the point to form into some gibralter of Irathria. I'm geussing the houses will move to insure peaceful movement through the area. Lets get down to the technical."

~~~~~Meanwhile in the Irathrian Offshore area
Leige Lord we have word from comsat that there is an uncertain buildup in the Irathrian Cooridor. We may need to return via the west ports, there is a vauge chance of engagement but it doesn't sound economically viable, the casa militar house comitee would like to speak with you privately.
A lone robotic controlled preguided commercial transport winds its way along the coast, transmitting data via satalite to ICCD command.
~~~~Within ICCD intelligence command.

"Hmm there have been no attacks on the drone yet?"

"If they do attack the drone consider the area a hostile combat area."

~~~~~On the southern beaches under cover of a quarter moon, the construction sub that expanded a local undersea gorroto unloaded ferried supplies and equipment from the main command sub positioned somewhere in the Inner sea. This operations has been ogoing for the last couple weeks to unload supplies and troops covertly to assist in setting up command points. Already the gorrotto had been hollowed out and links to the surface were melted with a a thermal drill. The position was 'perfect' for a command base as it offered a thermal vent in addition to a natural gorroto now expanded to act as a small and medium sized sub port. Density/Matter linings were already set up and the expansion of the area into a network of caves was underway. Formerly used lavatubes had become inactive centuries ago lay beneath the surface and one major had vein had been accessed receiving a now open tunnel system that could be used as a command base for the area. Word reached the command staff that the area was being strengthened as word came from Imperial Command that No Endorse was intent on claiming the entire area as a No Endorse colony, and intended on controlling sea born access through the straight area. War seemed to be deadlocking, one which may pin a No Endores, the Merged Ramissle/Florintine entity and perhaps even Azazia all at war with ICCD. It was uncertain where ICCD may garner allies, it's alliances were few but had yet to be tested. For a peaceful state it now seemed that the Imperialistic agression of No Endorse may proove to be deathly to the Dian forces. Rest assured though the Chokehold was to be a freezone without controls limiting movement in the area for the benfit of only one party or for that matter a small group in the interests of just themselves.
"Lord, this cargo contained some items we need you to personally inspect. I have also been ordered to give this sealed sachet to you on the proper verbal confirmation. I have been instructed that my keyphrase is Silver Moon on Highly prooved mind.
The balded man in a black scuba type suit replied, "Pegasus on horizon, wings float to the heavens"
"The sachet the officer was holding was not handed over, instead a second officer opened up their jacket and a small wallet was given to the commander."
"Thankyou Sir."
The canisters being unloaded were a very volatile mix of chemicles, mostly acids. After the sub finished unloading it was as if part of the sub itself detached, the cargo area was also cargo, a large sealant tank. This was the third such tank delivered this way, used for storing gas and other supplies.
It would be some time before the base was fully active, however the supplies were being ferried somewhat continuously in the south. With ever boatload a few units of officers were transfered to the front. in areas all over operational teams were ariving via stealth transport boats under cover of darkness. After the group 3 had been mobilized the notion of very developed engineering being necisary was underway. The recon teams had provided good intelligence where defences and operational based should be active.
Luckily tanks would not be likely to be active in the rocky mountains, aircraft or helicopeters on the otherhand may show up. Portable infrastructure such s water and food culture chambers were of primary importance. There was no desire for war but the Dians weren't set to let the entire area fall into a one or two self inclined states. it needed insurances of truely internatinal open movement and freetrade, not policing of economic venture.
Dozens of submarines were actively pinging the coastline, searching the contour for good harbours. Of course, if they found anything else, it would be very interesting indeed.
In fact, one stumbled apon the robotic transport, skimming the coast. Within minutes, a transmission was sent to a destroyer group nearby. Half an hour later, a pair of destroyers pulled near to the boat, sending standard hailings, audio, visual, and radio, ordering the ship to stop and state its alignment and purpose in these waters. They knew of the transmissions to the orbiting sattelite, even if they could not know what was being sent, and they knew who launched the orbiter. The hailings were merely a formality to ensure this was done the right way.
Unknown vessel. You have entered No Endorse territorial waters. Please stop and state your alignment, destination, home port, and reason for being in these waters. You have ten minutes to comply. Any longer, and your host country and company, along with your crew and captain and any other involved parties will be confronted for violating soverign No Endorse waters and ignoring the laws that govern those waters.
Elsewhere in the south, several submarines began to ping along the coast for potential underwater hazards and other submerged formations. Powerful sonar could see the bottum perfectly, mapping precise charts for use by the No Endorse fleet later on. Sattelites and surface ships aided in this effort across the entire area. If there was anything down there, it would not be hidden for long.
==============================================
Hundreds of troops left transports for prefabricated structures being built in strategic areas. Tanks, IFVs, and numerous air and land vehicles were offloaded. And the ships kept coming. Indeed, a supply train from Caranda had been formed, more ships arriving and departing every hour. They were serious about holding this land.
The troops continued to advance steadily, proceeding to the very limits of a secondary claim. They woud not proceed to the full extent until given a go-ahead, something still long off.
It is good to see that we can get along, all too often countries are at each others throats over simple matters like this. We have noted the location of your vessels, you should hear ours pinging away along the coast right now.
I have attatched a ship list and deployment specifications, along with some other files that might interest you. Our carriers in the area should be able to provide very extensive air support, and land based craft are beging shipped and flown in. We have recieved word that ICCD troops are in the area on some self-riteous mission for the whole of Irathria. Watch for them, and please don't start a war. Please send us any intel you get on their locations. We are going to attempt to create a defensive peremiter and clean zone, then a standard pickett line. Anything you can do to aid will be welcomed.
Maps, lists, forecasts, and other items were included with the message. The very last file attatched to this document contained several very grainy images of a UARV at long range. They were watermarked and had supposedly been taken from the tower of one of the fleet's destroyers. One of the images was tagged with the message "Those are neat, we've got to get some."
ooc: http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a161/anomaly149/Random/newNE.jpg I've troops in the areas that are yellow on the right, except for the islands. They're just guarded by the navy right now. Kinaylesdon
Fire in the hole!
With a muffled concussion the earth shook and a moment later the clear skies were filled with dust and rock particulates. In the harbour two new vessels were moored – the first a cargo ship with supplies and personnel while the second was a patrol boat sporting a 76mm rapid fire gun and two anti-ship missiles, the first ship of the UK’s Kinaylesdon Station.
For his part Reynolds was content with the progress, although in the last day some 500 members of the Royal Marines had disembarked and made the Rock their home. It was those very Marines that had brought the engineers who were now carving out fortifications into the interior of the rocky peninsula. Now, his team of special forces was tasked with performing their new duty: enforcing free transit of the strait.
The United Kingdom had been made aware of a conference to settle international boundaries and concerns along Irathria’s sea and air lanes – but until Kinaylesdon could successfully repel an assault and concurrently enforce the freedom of the strait, for both the continent and the UK, there would be no UK envoy. And so as the hours passed into days, cranes, trucks, bulldozers, and other heavy machinery molded the peninsula into an impenetrable fortress.
Into fortified positions in the rocks and cliffs were embedded long-range artillery pieces and both anti-ship and anti-air missiles. The first small pier had been established and alongside was Reynold’s new insertion craft, a small boat with a top speed of over 50 knots it could deliver his team of special forces anywhere in the straight within mere minutes.
For his part though, Reynolds now sat at the end of the pier casting line and hook into the harbour, drawing catch after catch – for the fish had no instincts to tell them to evade stationary bait, never having interacted with homo sapiens before. He had been fishing for but a half-hour when his sergeant’s boots made aware the presence of another person to Reynolds.
Captain, we’ve got our first set of orders, appears that an ICCD transport has been stopped by No Endorse destroyers and that a small PDS force is also en route.
Bloody hell, Charles. Before we know it some chap will want to prove his dick’s bigger than the rest and we’ll have our own little shooting war here in the strait.
Aye, sir. That’s why we’re headed out. The sergeant handed over a small piece of paper. Our orders, sir.
Very well then, Charles. Have those Navy boys ready our ship and get the men outfitted for a standard boarding operation: shotguns and SMG load out if you please.
And for you, sir?
I’ll take my rifle. I always take my rifle. I don’t see this ending peacefully, Charles, and when it explodes we’ll need every bit of firepower we have.
OOC: Hope none of you mind if I hop on this late...the chokepoint may have consequences...
Homeland Amazonian Beasts
The intel department was well aware of the chokehold dispute that had been ringing around open political discussion, though surviellance units had also been on active scan of the developments. Things looked sketchy, at best, but certainly it seemed that No Endorse and Azazia, at least, had been launching build-ups at the supposedly "International" chokehold that locked in the inner sea. Though the Dominion had access to both inner and outer seaports, the possible consequences for Irathrian diplomatic procedure and negotiation from such a hold, along with the pressures that could be set on from individual hold on the chokepoint, could potentially be disastorous down the line, if not to the Dominion, then potentially to the lesser-active nations of the Irathrian continent. Though no plan was formulated as of yet pending involvement of the Dominion in the chokehold affair, the intel department stayed on active alert.
Within the throne room, a cross between a lounge an office, auditorium, sat the current Emperor. Various aides and advisors were seated either at conference tables or in a concalve half circle around the throne, having a discussion, some standing like the honour gaurd of the Emperor's Personal House Praetorian Gaurd, walking around armed and in armour like a scene of storm troopers from a star wars film, only much grainier and black armour with flat face masks.
The discussions this day had been various. The practices and direction of industry, plans for advancement of ports, major trade deals, various houses issues, and of course the Casa Militar Select commitee's agenda. Some messages were handed as notes, or transmited via electronic display, others were verbally discused in the conference, at times aides would move in and out of the room after speaking with gaurds posted at both sides of the entrance hallway.
What happened today was seen as fairly routine, a couple trade deals approved, instructors to be deployed in various areas, and what may be seen as important was the regular surface transit of supplies and Imperial engineers and assistance to the southern portion of the Chokehold area, firmly in the hands of the international group, the projects these officers were to engage in were establishing infrastructure and assit in development and resource management for the area. The major addition was a billion dollar commitment to improve defences in the north.
10,000 people per week were authorized transfered per week to be deployed for entreprenuring and free enterpirse development projects..
ooc: nevermind the destroyers shadowing those supply ships...
IC:
As soon as the helicopters entered radar range, they were queried. But being a recon unit going over No Endorse shipping is definatly not a good way to get on the navy's good side, especially when one begins to descend towards the deck of one of the supply ships. A nearby destroyer cut loose with its CIWS and several SAMs the instant that the descent began, and radar found the origin ship of the helicopters. An airstrike was immediatly ordered from a nearby carrier, and a pair of submarines sent out to strike.
Even if men made it onboard, they would find an unpleasant sight. The crews had several machine guns onboard, and would fight to the last to hold the ship. When the helicopters were eliminated, the destroyer would pull alongside the cargo ship in question and offload several marines. It was serious game time.
This is a joint scientific vesel doing catrographic research of the Straight area.
We are charted by Arnaath Oceanographic Mining Co.
We were not made aware of this territory being claimed. Could you please transmit the extend of territories stated as being under your jurisdiction.
Over.
The pertinant information was sent, along with a request to leave immediatly if not sooner. Several marines could be seen on the deck of one craft, gathering equipment together.
OOC: It involves everyone involved..... the only 'sorta military' conflict so far is a 'subnational' group attempting a takeover of a supply ship.
not in transylvanian waters, transylvania is just north the chokehold....
Note: the ship moves to the edge of your territorial boundry claim either like 12 km or whatever it was and continues to follow the coast.
ooc: It's been adjusted to whatever the treaty thing claimed. I think that was like 50nm, right? I hate using nautical miles >_<
ooc: you didn't agree to the treaty. take it up at the summit, only me and corpsac and transylvania have reached agreements on the limits of our waters. Meanwhile Ramissle and ICCD have agreed on some waterway usages between us. I havn't read any of your declarations yet, hence I assumed it was the earlier limit that a couple of you were agreeing on like 12 m. or km or nm or something Transylviania was around 25 km. But there are a number of ways on setting sea boundries. No agreement has been reached on the territorial boundry so far, as per the naval coast, just a line on the landboundry of where your troops won't enter. so it'd be good to draw it on a map if posible. I suggest taking it up at the conference to state your intenetions.. as per with the boat you could tell them the boundry was closed off completely and they'd most like respond as if having no clue, they prolly wouldn't argue with a big naval ship considering they are like a 20ft yatch type boat.
On a sunny afternoon just south of the ceasefireline something unexpected was seen by intelligence of No Endorse Patrols
It was a Nerotikan Standard making a day daylight patrol of the border area, in a road that was being cleared out by a Dian engineering team, the road systems were linked to underground tunnels that linked to the main surface settlements that were established in time passing.
Over the next few weeks around 1 hummvees were seen on patrol at times an abrams or TH-301's could be seen in manovers in this area. a number of stations 5 were in clear veiw, being dugout in the lowland east coast area appearing to be what seemed to be a company each of around 100 soilders and a 5 trucks and 3 humvees and 2 TH-301 the abrams seem to be rotated to different bases and travelled together when manovering, every so often the vehicles would go into the tunnels and not be seen for a couple days, especially the trucks which made trips on a daily basis coming back and being stored in an underground hangar. The hummvees were often parked outside the underground base structure.
The standard of Nerotikan flew along side the ICCD state common flag. ICCD personnel especially engineers could be seen at these bases quite frequently and hardening of these clear veiw bases seemed to be extending with obvious underground consturction visible by satalite geophysical imagry but it seemed that after around 10 ft the veiw of underground construction was lost.
