OOC: Problems with Invision boards

Apologies for posting this notice here, and if it needs to be moved, I would have no problems with that, but Server 13 on Invision Free boards is currently down. That server powers boards such as the Union of World Powers, Lineart Inc, the NS Draftroom, and the Council of Air Powers, among others.

We are aware server 13 is down right now and are investigating why this problem has been recurring. Thank you for your patience.

We have been waiting on our datacenter to perform some work on server 13. They have not given us a timeframe for the work.

I will post any updates when they become available and we will have server 13 back as soon as possible.

Edit: 2AM Eastern Time. We still have no timeframe from the datacenter.

Other servers are not affected.

I was beginning to think I was the only one having problems with the Draftroom.
Thanks for pointint it out.
Hopefully I'll have my new HFJ-1 and AIM-130A2 ready for when it comes back online.

Hopefully I'll have my new HFJ-1 and AIM-130A2 ready for when it comes back online.I was thinking the server at work was on the fritz until Praetonia asked me on MSN if I could get on the Draftroom. That's when I realised the problem was pretty widespread.

Here's the latest from Invision Free:

The datacenter has determined that there is no failure in the drives or the RAID controller. More tests will be done today.

For those who wonder why they don't just swap out servers, obviously the data on the server is what we are interested in. A new server would not solve that problem.

[... snip ...]

For those of you that are patiently waiting, we apologize for the length of time this has taken. s13 is in a different datacenter than many of our first servers. We will not be using this datacenter again.

[... snip ...]

It is not our intention to hide what's going on, but the datacenter is notoriously closemouthed.

Will I lose data?
We have backups, and the initial report from the datacenter was good. But nothing is certain.

Can I switch servers?
No, we can't move you to another server.

Is the server down, or is the datacenter down?
Just this server is down.

Will they keep working over Christmas?
We expect analysis to be completed today, so hopefully they won't have to work over Christmas.

It's back - slow for obvious reasons but back.
Well, that's Earth 13 and IX back up at last...

Nevermind. It goes to the log-in screen but doesn't work afterwards. :(

Everything seems to be running smoothly for me. Took it a bit to fully get active but seems all is well now.

Unlucky 13. ;)
That's what I used to think. Now I hardly believe in good/bad luck. Glad to see that the boards are back up again.
