Referendum on Legalising Homosexuality.

Torontia

From: The New Order Republic of Torontia

To: The International Community

At dawn today, Torontia annouces that it has begun to release ALL homosexual prisoners that NONE of them incured any harm during their detention.

Given the huge international pressure that has occured due to Torontia's anti-homosexuality laws, we have now made plans for a drastic change.

As we stated before, our own government run census has shown that 39 million homosexual males reside in Torontia.

It is impossible to exile all of them for reason of logistics and demographics.

Given that Torontian law makes homosexuality a crime punishable by death, given that if the law were to applied in full force that would result in the deaths of 39 million people, given that such killings would cause war on our nation;

Torontia will now put forward an open referendum on whether homosexuality should be leagalised.

If the referendum comes in favour of legalising homosexuality, then all homosexual males will be given immediate equal status with Torontian citizens.

--Transmition--

King Thomas I frowns upon this act, Please do not go forward with this.
Homosexuality is a sin, it is a sin and therefore it is law.
Do not conform to the new ways, the old ways is the path to a better future.

To: Torontia

Greetings from the Concordance of Czardas! We are glad to see that you have chosen the right path. While you may consider homosexuality a sin—and we are not challenging your right to believe so—it would be wrong and a violation of human rights to kill them. We urge you to legalize homosexuality to ensure the equality of all humans. While it may not go with your beliefs on the morality of homosexuality, genocide is a worse crime than homosexuality can ever be, so we urge you once more to select what should be in your mind the lesser of two evils: homosexuality and peace, over genocide and possible war.

~Kari Alhoun, Czardaian Foreign Minister

The Holy Empire of Saint Fedski applauds the decision to put this issue to a vote. It provides proof of great political rights and proof of improving civil rights. Even if this vote fails to legalize homosexuallity, you can still say you tried but the majority of your citizens didn't support it, which serves your reputation just as well.

"Legalize it. Whatever your stance on homosexuality is homosexuals ARE human beings and no less equal than anyone else."

Consider:
Are there not certain tasks required to maintain your population's standard of living the execution of which could make reproduction unwise?
why not then have those already choosing not to contribute genetically to future generations execute said tasks?
This solution has worked adequately for our people for some time.
