Tunnel Construction Project (CONSIDERING OFFERS)

Our country is about to embark upon an ambitious project to connect all of it's 4 major islands to the existing rail network. The centrepiece of this effort will be the construction of tunnels between the islands. The construction of the first of such tunnels will be put up for international tender. We are looking for bids for the construction of the section between the Strattel and Newport settlements (see map (http://photobucket.com/albums/y270/dumelow/lrmapjpg.jpg)). The successful bidder for the initial construction is also likely to be selected for subsequent tunneling projects.

There will need to be 3 tunnels for each connection, 1 rail tunnel in each direction and a central service tunnel to provide maintenance access and ventilation. The distance to be covered between the two ends will be approximately 50 miles and will need to traverse beneath the sea bed at a depth of 120m. Each rail tunnel should be 30ft in diameter and the service tunnel 20ft. Safety is a prime concern and should be included in any offers.

It should be said that the cheapest bid will not necessarily win if all the factors are not covered. An initial budget of $40 billion has been released by the chancellory but more money can be requisitioned if bids are over this amount.

We thankyou for any help or bids you may be able to place and look forward to hearing from you soon.
