Verghastinsel Begins Subjugation of Smaller Neighbours

"...at this time we've no idea of the scale of this operation. An attempt to gain an interview with a representative of the Verghastan Ministry of Defence has been forcibly denied, though the Defence Minister, Oberst Erich Krause, is expected to make a public address later today..."
-----
"...decision was taken in after careful discussion by the Senate regarding a number of issues. Firstly, it has been known for some time that a number of the offending nations' representatives had been meeting in secret, in an effort to form an...a 'Defence Initiative' regarding Verghastinsel. They saw us as a threat and, the Senate believes, would have initiated military action within a few years. It was decided that to avoid an otherwise inevitable attack, a pre-emptive strike would be required..."

THE BLAZING WRECK which had once been a T-80 sat in a five-foot ditch at the side of the road, a gaping hole ripped from it's side. The shattered remains of it's crew decorated the inside of the tank, and molten metal lay across the tarmac.
A Verghastan Panzer roared past, shunting aside the carcass of a civilian vehicle and sending it spinning onto it's side. Sparks flew from it's chassis as it grated against the motorway before it cannoned into the saftey barrier in the middle of the road. Part of the driver's corpse was dislodged, and lay crumpled on the inside of the bullet-ridden windscreen.
In the distance, the chatter of machine-guns could be heard, punctuated by the background thump of artillery shells.

Leafanistan knows that countries can tire easily during battle and forces have to be replenished at some point, we are glad to offer our services to you in helping build an occupation force, or to increase your army, navy, or air force numbers in case of a counter-attack by allied nations.

The military aid offered by Leafanistan is much appreciated. A situation survey performed prior to the attacks calculated a high probablility that outside intervention would be provided for our enemies, and any assistance against this is welcome.

The gesture is commendable, however, our crews are not trained in the use of these machines, and they would thus be of little use. It would be preferable if Leafanistani crews could accompany the tanks, but I would understand if you are unwilling to risk the lives of your soldiers.

The Empire looks with favor upon your expansion and home defense campaign, and has decided to offer Imperial support in the form of two battalions of Imperial Black Guardsmen to implement and supervise the training of your own special forces units. We realize at the moment that this may not seem much, but we are certain that in time you shall find the benefit should you accept. If any material or financial assistance is required, do not hesitate to ask.

It gladdens me that Generian approval has been bestowed upon this campaign. Verghastinsel wholeheartedly accepts the Empire's aid, as our own Special Forces are near non-existent. A training area shall be set aside, and resources diverted. I am sure that, in time, a unit can be assembled with tactics and equipment to at least resemble the universally-feared Black Guardsmen.

On the airstrip illuminated only in patches by high powered floodlights, two enormous G-98 supertransports were readying for takeoff. In the red lit bellies of the aircraft, fierce men in dark fatigues with painted faces lined each side of the fuselage, cradling assault rifles, checking clips, and cleaning the glinting blades of long combat knives. It was a four hour flight to Verghastinsel.

several thousands of meters in the air sattelites were rotating, if there was any medium for it tranfer through the sound of clicking and other more exotic noises would be heard coming from these sattelites, as it were there was no indication except movement of their activity. At the end of the cycle the sattelites transmitted the information to secure Mondothian facilities. the information was quickly moved to a nondescript office building owned by the Mondoth Aerial Survey And Mapping Co. inside the building the information was turned into pictures and other images and was pored over by well paid analysts and machines. every once i a while an analyst would look up, blink a couple of times, look back at the image and slowly type a set of numbers onto his PDA. the computers did the equivalent but much faster. Well into the next day all the numbers were logged and realtime tracking began. In various farmhouse structures work began, warheads were mated to missile busses which were further more attached to Boosters. at the end of the day Mondoths strategic arsenal was ready.

Courant Air Base, Geisenfried, 2315 hrs

Awoken by the sudden declaration of Operation Aurora, Courant scrambled hurriedly to prepare. 25 C-67s, the commonly used transport in Geisenfried, were being loaded with paratroopers for the planned invasion of Urelia. Other bases, such as Destin and Blanc, were preparing fighters and bombers as well. In total, some 155 craft were to launch for the operation in the early morning hours.

Soon, they began their taxiing. The darkness was pierced by the runway lights and taxi lights as the planes took off into the pitch black. In two hours, they would be over the planned drop area in Northern Urelia.

--------------------------Classified------------------------
Operation Aurora

Objective: Seize ground for planned invasion of Urelia, in support of the Verghastinel government.

Orders:
The first attack wing, which will consist of 40 F-22 Raptors and 30 F-117 Nighthawks are to clear the path by bombing any ground forces that are currently placed in our landing area. Stealth penetration and a surprise attack will be key.
The 25 C-67 transports, escorted by another wing of 40 F-22 Raptors, will then proceed to our landing area, and secure it by dropping our paratroopers. Most of the ground forces should be downed by initial bomber attack, so securing the area should be easy, but be cautious.
Estimated landing time: 0125 hours
Forces:
80 F-22 Raptors
30 F-117 Nighthawks
25 C-67
6125 Paratroopers

OOC: You don't know anything about my ABM system...

I use high-orbit recon satellites that continually stream information about missiles to anti-missiles. These anti-missiles use this information to track down and destroy the missiles by impacting them before they can reach my land. You'd have to simultaneously teleport your missiles, or have something go completely wrong. I payed a healthy chunk to develop this system, damned better be good.

OOC: Like I said, My missiles are NOT ballistic missiles they have an entirely different flight pattern and radar profile, If your system even Identifies them as misiles then something is wrong with my weapons. There's probably nothing wrong with your system but you don't use an anti artillery rocket to kill an MLRS and you don't use an ABS to kill an ICTAM even though an ICTAM and an ICBM serve the same general function they do it in comepletely different ways. there is a way to prevent an ICTAM from being effective but it isn't an ABS system, espescially not a space based one.

"This is Ghost fligh leader calling in, we have landfall, swithcing to terrain following mode." the B-5 stealth Strategic bomber flew silently through the night, sliding over the ground like water over smooth glass the plane was almost invisble, using the latest in LCD technology the plane's skin mimicked the light level and color of the sky while its configuration and the materials used to build it alternately absorbed and scatterred any radar waves that might have found it. The plane slid effortlessly between radar sites and military positions, it had 5 targets tonight, just as every one of the many B-5 bombers performing similar actions for the same reason. The plan was simple, using the intelligence from sattelites each aircraft would fly over five siites of strategic importance; missile silos, weapons stockpiles, and many other things of military importance. they would drop a single bomb on each, not a nuclear bomb but one of either a bunker buster (for underground positions) or cluster munition (for above ground targets like troop concentrations, air strips, ammo dumps and weapon stockpiles). some might be detected but it was unlikely any would be detected until it was known thew were there (I.E. after they dropped their bombs) and even then it was likely that they would all escape alive (though not certain by any means).

High above the surface several dozen ICBM simulators were flying, expensive decoys meant to take the enemies eyes off the possibility of an attack from lower to the ground, they weren't even capably of carrying nuclear munitions but it would take a detailed examination of one in a stable situation to figure that out.
Astryna
18-05-2005, 08:09
President Endac smiled as he watched events unfolding through live satfeed. Make the announcement, he said, still smiling.

Across the newsnets, a recording begain to play. But it was hailed as a live brodcast from the palace, and for all the reporters knew, it was.

"The Protectorate of astryna wishes to declare war on the opressors of the Sovereign state of Urelia. Any who oppsoe this nation and/or attempt to invade it will be at war with us. We would like to immediatly begin coordination with the Government of Mondoth on our wartime activities."

And on cue, the regiment of the Astrynan Guard (Special Forces) that had been so carefully infiltrated over the past few months into Verghastinsel begain to strike. One thousand of the best Astrynan soldiers, snuck in on stealth craft during the previous week, includling stealth aircraft, commercial airliners, submarine transports, etc... Were now spread through the country. Within the first 3 hours, over 75 strategic sites had been hit by the Guard, with more operations underway deep within the heart of the country. Te guerillas targeted government buildings, police stations, infastructure, and military outpost. They wore civilian clothing, with body armor and weapons hidden under clothes and in acquired jeeps, pickups, etc, struck their targets.

Some of the targets struch in the first wave included several armories, railroad and highway bridges and tunnels, supply convoys, radio and TV stations, sewage treatment and water purification faciliries, dams, power plants and resivoars, power substations and high-voltage power lines, pipelines, as well as police and government buildings.

Another of the three regiments of the Guard was positioned inside Urelia, training the resistance and supplying massive amounts of armaments to the civilian population in that country. That force's operatives were also disguised as civilians.

An Astrynan Guard soldier on a tractor (in farmers clothing), plowing a field on a hilltop spotted the explosions from the attacks of the initial phaze of operation aurora. The tractor stopped plowing and drove into a barn. There, the soldier made an encrypted telephone call.

"They are clearing secor 55-772 for a landing. Get Defender over here."

Then the soldier plugged a three inch box into the electrical outlet. The power shorted out.

A repair truck came in to fix the power. This was less than a mile away from the aurora landing zone as the people came out of the repair truck and begain to fix the power. They placed dummy infared and bio-signature creators inside the hosue that would maintain the electronic appearence of the same people being there, while the residents of the farmhouse and the soldier departed in the van with stealth coverings.

As the second wave was nearly directly overhead, and just a few minutes away from the drop zone, a land-line command and control signal went through to the house. "Detonate"

An air cannon fired a shell into the air through the roof of the farmhouse. That shell exploded into a nuclear air-burst warhead, designed to destroy anything and everything in the air for a mile radius.

Unfortunatly, it would also cause large amounts of fallout.

3rd Astrynan Guard Regiment (Special Forces)
1 Tactical Nuclear Warhead (Remote Detonation, Manual Placement)

I advice you to give up messing with Verhastinsellian business or otherwise The Kaiserreich with it's protectorate plus the major allies of the Silberunion will make sure that your people never see the sunlight again. Urelia must be unified to them, like we unified the Netherlands, Switzerland, and others, for unity is strength, and we will not allow you to have our allies be weaker for your own purposes.

Alan, FT and MT are very different, and it's sometimes nice to put a little organisation into your armies. Try posting the details of your Section, Company and Battalion-level formations (Numbers, armaments, equipment and so on). It just makes wars more tidy, and saying 'Three Infantry Battalions' is much more professional-sounding that saying 'Fifteen thousand Blokes-With-MP5s'. Best of luck to you.

Foreign Minister Kari Alhoun chuckled as the report printed out. He glanced over it briefly before handing it to the other man in the room, Secretary-General Jan Delatoire.

"It's the latest report on the Verghastinel vs. Urelia situation," explained Alhoun.

Delatoire glanced over it, and his eyes widened. "What an unusual situation," he said. "What can we do about it?"

"Well, what can we do?" responded Alhoun. "We were an expansionist nation until our defeat in battle two hundred years ago. Since then, we've kept to an isolationist foreign policy. Our military consists of about a hundred thousand active duty personnel, whose only duties are to escort important people and guard our few remaining overseas possessions."

"True," said Delatoire. "And expansionism is not exactly what the people are in support of now. Seeing how it ruined such neighbors as Baryxia, Scintarraine, and Upper Lextopia for goodness's sake, of course." (OOC: Apologies to any nations that happen to have these names.)

"The only thing we can do is trade with them, conduct a vote among the Council, and build up our army," said Alhoun. "Remember, we're swimming in oil and military equipment from the failed 1988 crisis. Not the most modern tech, but..." The "1988 crisis" was still famous in Czardas. The execution of a Czardaian diplomat along with a public insult to Czardas led to the people's calling for war. Arms equipment was produced en masse. However, war had been averted at the last possible moment due to the clever diplomacy of the former President.

"Who cares, upgrade it and send it off. It can't hurt," said Delatoire. "Not us anyway."

Against the grey-black sky, the moon and stars obscured by a heavy vail of clouds, the silhouettes of the massive Imperial transport aircraft descended upon the dark airfield. The engines drifted to silence, and the cargo bay doors opened with a heavy mechanical groan. amidst muffled orders, dark men in equally dark uniforms poured out onto the tarmac.

Brigadier General Cestmir Andriev watched the dim faces of his officers as the platoons assembled in the open space.

Fine Generian warriors. Fresh for the kill.

His expression remained static as he oversaw the deployment, detached.

--------------------

Imperial Military Command, Bunker 17, Generia City

General Lew Nri'ev sat back in his chair in the dark briefing room, eyes focused intently on the projection in front of him, the most recent satellite feed from over the nation of Verghastinsel.

"So boys, let's have it. What do we got."

A Generian Imperial officer rose out of his seat. He was of average height, and looked about in his mid-thirties, young for a high ranking officer. A pair of wire rimmed glasses rested upon his aristocrat's nose.

"General, as you know the nation of Verghastinsel recently came under fire, literally, for their recent aggression against the neighbor state of Urelia. A few hours ago, the nation of Mondoth, who had been saber rattling for some time over Verghastinsel's actions, initiated a missile strike on several targets spread throughout the nation. We have not yet recieved the official damage report, though we suspect at least moderate damage to facilities despite interceptions by Geisenfried countermeasure systems."

"Fine, fine. Cut with the bullshit, and let's here about the Verghastan capabilities."

The officer looked a bit put off by the General's bluntness, though he shook it off and continued.

"Of course, sir. The Verghastinsel army, though a relatively small force, is a highly trained and efficient fighting unit. Most of her soldiers have been serving togethor for years, and though this is the nation's first true combat action to anyone's knowledge, these men have handled themselves exceptionally well, remaining cohesive and professional throughout the campaign. The armored corps is a particular note of pride for the Verghastan military command, and like her infantry legions, it has proved to be highly effective and precise in operations. I have no doubt in the abilities of these men to function perfectly against a foreign invasion, however, with the enemy's superior numbers, I fear that the Verghastan's may find themselves in a quandary without external support."

"Elaborate."

"Well, as you can see, the enemy was able to strike with relative impunity against the nation utilizing her advanced missile systems, and due to the nature of modern warfare, I doubt that any large number of enemy troops will ever have to face the Verghastan army in battle, that is unless their advantage can be removed."

"And how do you suggest we do this, Colonel?"

"Sir, the Verghastan air force is fairly small, and their equipment consists largely of Harrier look-alikes, certainly nothing with a place in a modern air war. Therefore, I propose that the Empire intervene on the behalf of Verghastinsel through lending units of our own large air corps to deal with enemy air support and fleets. As you know, the F-78 Sokol and GIR-1 Stiletto are two of the most advanced air superiority fighters in the world, free and oppressed. The speed and systems of these aircraft are unmatched, and it is my opinion that putting these over Verghastinsel could gain us air superiority in a matter of days, thus securing a position for the Verghastan army to carry out their operations in Urelia uninhibited."

"You realize this would mean a declaration of war."

"Sir, you of all people know that the Empire is never one to shy away from conflict, and the operation will give us a chance to demonstrate the capabilities of the Imperial air-force, which has just recently come into its own in the Buchianan and Inkanan theaters."

"Alright Colonel. You make a good case. I'm going to give it to you. Get word to the admiralty. We're deploying to Verghastinsel."

"Very good, sir."

Official Imperial Communique

To: Oberst Erich Krause, Defence Minister
From: Lord Varus Tiberius Alexei

The Empire, witnessing the recent attacks on your nation by Mondoth and allies, has decided to augment your national aerial capabilities by deploying the 12th Imperial air force to your nation, under the command of General Mikhail Leiniski. We will ask that you transmit available air bases to Imperial strategic command. In addition, the 32nd Imperial battle fleet under Rear Admiral Stanislaus Krtiska, will begin immediate transit to Verghastinsel territorial waters to preserve an Imperial presence in the region, and support the air corps should it become necessary.

Across the runways of the Imperial air base on the warm south Generian sea island of Ntac, Imperial pilots scrambled out of their barracks, rushing for the cockpits of the waiting aircraft. The smooth black curves of the F-78s stood beside the contrasting jackknife look of the GIF-1s. The scream of jet engines lit up the afternoon as the fighters rocketed down the runways, into the clear blue of the southern Generian skies, bound for Verghastinsel to fight a war.

Further north, the cold, harsh waves of the Inkanan Channel slapped against the hulls of Imperial vessels as they knifed through the water towards their deployment destinations. Stalwart sailors scurried about belowdecks, as the stone faced officers watched the fast approaching mouth of the channel. They were eager to be out of the confines of these home waters, and all longed for that familiar thrill of combat once again.

With this, Generia was in it now for the long haul.

Martens smiled and huggled her. "Allright then. Well, I'll be heading out to contribute with my beautiful planes. I'll be in the hangar until we're good to go." He nodded and walked off and into an elevator, which close and started moving downwards.

Eventually he arrived to another hallway getting in a small electric vehicle designed for intra-base movement, and after a few security checks he reached one of the hangars where the ships would take off from. Soldiers saluted as he passed, he nodded for them to rest when he kept moving.

An officer came up to him and saluted, then informed. "Your ship is almost ready Mein Kaiser. It will be 30 minutes more until the rest of the ships, 450, are good to go, if everything is working in order as it does."

"Sehr gut. Do it without hurry but without pause."

"Jawohl." The officer nodded and went direct the preparatives as Kaiser moved to his custom plane which was based on a Lenneth type Fighter Aircraft. He inspected it personally to make sure everything was clear, and after a while he hopped up onto the cockpit and waited for the others to be ready. Eventually they were, and so he closed it and turned on the engine and the machines. "Okay then...all ready?" "We're ready, Kaiser. We'll follow you." "Takeoff..." He pressed a few buttons and his ship started to move....the base was onto a mountain, and they now could see in the distance the door opening to allow exit. The ships began to do alike and follow him, and so in many other hangars the same happened, and within minutes all the 451 planes took off and were in the sky in order formed in three Echelon formations.

"Report."

"Group one, ready."
"Group two, standing by"
"Group three, good to go."

"Set new course towards the forces of Verghastinsel. Activate all weapon systems. Voran!"

"Ja!" And so all the ships began to head forth.

Martens opened a Channel to the Verhastinsel Forces and the different active allies of his there. "This is Martens and the Luftdivision Einherjar coming to your asistance. Just tell us where the enemies are" Everything was working perfectly and the aircraft flew pretty close to each other as they waited until they'd arrive. "We'll let them taste their guts....over and out." Martens sighed nostalgic. This reminded him of...long ago. Before he was himself. He stared of through the window but kept an eye out as his four bodyguard Komet III prototype aircraft flew by him. The ships, excepting the bombers, were equipped with the latest technology and were hooked to the Silberunion's Odinsauge detection offense and defense system, so they would be able to detect almost anything, unless there was some futuristic new stealth technology. At the same time most of the ships' signals were those of stones, the bombers being the exception, those could be detected easily. The Reichs' Engineers are still working on that...but with their firepower, they're worth it anyways.

Martens finally flicked on a switch as some Megaherz began to sound, "Showdown", as he got ready for battle.

OOC: There's one thing you're not realizing here. The satellites I use are not only designed to feed in info about targets, but to fully scan over a large area and give large amounts of info on any targets in the area, by using systems like the ones used in geographic mapping satellites. They could be flying tanks for all I care, it'll detect them none the less. With the scan, altitude, latitude and longitude are instantly known, giving me coordinates to shoot down just about anything. If I wanted it so, I could track planes, helicopters, tanks, and other vehicles with my anti-missiles, but that's not practical, considering what my anti-missiles are composed of.

Also, Astryna, the entirety of your actions are IGNORED by me. You see, at the top of my statement concerning Operation Aurora, you'll see a Confidential, meaning that all of my movements, including my planned landing zone, is top secret. You shouldn't know where the hell my planes plan to paratroop, so I find it extremely hard to believe that you just happen to have a tactical nuke in the area. It would take hours for transport into the area, and that's time you don't have considering how fast the operation is supposed to move. Not to mention I haven't RPed the attack yet.

By the way, how did you instantaneously get into Urelia and Verghastinel? You're assuming you've known for this planned invasion for years, yet it's only been a short time since Verghastinel has announced it. According to the numbers you've put up, it would take less time for me to complete Aurora than to put all your men in and conduct the nuke anyway.

I'll IC post in a bit, I have to do something now.

I forgot to mention the AVT-90M class tanks we plan to send us DNI systems, you only need 2 people to operate this "think-tank", we will send trainers to help them learn how to use it. We have an external DNI system available, it inserts nano-wires into the subjects brain and can be left inside, they will not interfere with actions though it is a good idea to have the system retract them.

If you feel that DNI isn't necessary we will send more trainers to help you learn how to operate this tank, we also want to send you 2 AC-130 gunships, are your troops trained in those?

I have spoken with some of my troops, and they are rather against the concept of being plugged into the tanks. It would be preferable for instructors to accompany the machines.
For the most part, Verghastinsel produces it's own vehicles and armaments, so unfortunately we have no pilots trained in the use of an AC-130.

As a service to all purchasing nations and nations evaluating our products usually instructors are provided, the shipment of tanks are on their way with instructors for them, AC-130s are being flown over with them with trainers to make sure that your pilots can operate all these equipment. If you want we can also provide guns, and smaller armaments such as ammuntion, and we shall allow your aircraft to land on our soil if it is in need such as serious distress or fuel concerns. Of course for refuelings we will charge, but it is a small price to pay for a plane to be back up in the air.

IC: The Free Nation of Free And United states wishes to begin negotiations for shipping oil to Verghastinsel. Message to all allies of Verghastinsel:

The Northern Nation States will be dispatching forces to aid our allies and Neighbors in Mondoth, Any action taken against Mondoth will be treated as an Action Against us and will be responded to with all due ferocity. currently our Seventh, Ninth , Third and And first Fleets are being mobilised to the combat area and we feel it our duty to warn all agressors that the Seventh NNS Fleet is a designated bombardment fleet, the fleet has five Dracken class Arsenal Ships, Five Hydra class Arsenal Ships and will e supporting the first combat appearence of the new Leviathan class Arsenal Ship, all told the missile launch capability of just these ships surpasses the population of many small cities. OOC: Your nation is vast, the size of roughly china or india. Its not that tricky to get a thousabnd people in in the course of a week. You stated that the country you are invating is small. I took this to mean that is was the sise of some of the midsised eurtopean nations. First of all, we can narrow down potential landing zones, and secondly near those zones we have spread out the available nuclear weapons. Assuming about the sise of the country, I project that a tactical nuke could be in position in under 20 minutes. A two wave airstrike would take at least that much time to clear a path to the targhet, giving a specific heading where the bomb could be moved into immediatly. The movement of materials into the smaller country was aided by that government, certainly that would be enough to get 1000 people in.

Heck, several thousand tourists move through Houston Intercontinental every day. Would you really notice, with literally tens of thousands of tourists moving in by air per day, 1,000 soldiers with perfect government arranged cover stories?

Estemed members of the military,

It has come to our attention that your conflict has become quite bitter and without end. To that we the republic of overbear offer our help...to the highest bidder.

What do we offer, well of course the ultimate weapon, the winner of the bidding war would be the proud recipient of one of our premade, chemo/biological weapons platforms(CBWP). This includes the weapon of choice (ebola, anthrax-d, anthrax-u, VX-4 Nerve toxins, and a host of custom made chemical and biological pathagens), 4 delivery systems custom designed for said weapon, and training in use, and deployment of said weapon.

We look forward to a potential contract with whomever wishes.

Martens and the aircraft continued to approach the area of conflict, now being pretty close.

"Please Hans send a message I want the Kriegsmarine and the SS Leibstandarten Kriegsmarine Division ready to work for tomorrow. We cannot sink their fleet just with our bombs. Also inform the Isnatten Islands, we're gonna need their assistance on this one."

In the Silberunion we beleive in Comparative Response. We DO have those weapons already as we have nukes and much more. It would be foolish to bring chemical weapons into this, it would cause large scale death and no winners at all. For the good of everyone I think noone should bid for it, or 100 times the men would die, in all sides.

Sir,

I can asure you we offer only the higest quality, in chemical, and biological weapons. Our systems are designed for ease of use, quick action, and little to no leftover fallout. Our biological systems can be timed to within hours with a halflife from 24-72 hours and a total zero spread of 120-400 hours. The Mondothian fleet was in position, the fleet had arrived in Urelian waters and arrayed itself for combat, but had not yet moved, no unnecesary movement was seen above decks, the entire fleet seemed to be hibernating, waiting for a signal to attack, meanwhile it did nothing.

Deep under water a nother fleet was moving, Mondoth's considerable submarine forces were slowly moving, incredibly quiet, a stiffling silence, nothing moved but the water being propelled through the magneto hydro dynamic thrusters, and that moved almost sluggishly, aching to make as little noise as possible, to ensure total surprise.

On the flagship of the combined Mondothian fleets The admiral was contemplating the plan, as much a psycholigical one as as a military operation, as he contemplated he thought up a clever almost aphoristic summary, writing it down he went on contemplating, thinking of the battle ahead anticipating reactions to actions not yet taken. he waited. in his hands was a slip of paper he had written on mere seconds before bearing a single line of text "Act the mighty dragon, be the agile Mongoose'

Sir,

As you note we only sell to the highest bidder, what they do with the weapons platform is not our consern. HOWEVER, if you feel it nessessary to place threats of atacks on our country, for simply selling a product that is in demand. Perhaps its time we look hard at Mondoth as a posible threat to our soverinty and take a more defencive posture with them. Keitel smirked at everyones fuss over a chemical warefare merchant, walking into his personal combat jeep he drove up to Overbear and spoke with him a bit." Tell me sir, how much would it cost to buy a launchable chemical antrax missile from a jet and then a bomb itself? I would actually like to purchase a couple so I don't have to make them, not to say I'll use them now but just for a safekeeping."

While Keitel spoke to Overbear safely, his forces then seized out of the lines of Silberunion and charged to the openland where they would intercept Mondoth if there were to be a land attack not to mention that there were those forces settin up the artillery, instantly firing at will to the forces of Mondoth ontop of water, his naval fleet that were in range and in sight. With the artillery firing there long ranged mega tanks started firing out there as much as possible too, the rest spreading back out of the navals ships range and setting up a small base with fortified underground bunkers, the infantry preparing for the oncoming fight.

"Well Overbear hold on", Keitel then spoke into his neck mic and gave orders to the air forces and naval forces as well, tawning he continued their conversation. The destroyers came behind the Mondoth naval forces that were to be seen above water, 7.500 of them all firing at will to the unsuspecting ships as my ships came behind them in a sneak attack. Then along with them my mega sub went off a hid somewhere unknown then totally shut down underwater, untraceable with any way possible. The rest of my normal subs went down and played hide and seek with Mondoth's subs, finding them finally with numberous search units they fired spontaneously at will to them as well then, the first attack made.

The air forces of Keitel then flew overhead as booms were heard from their patrol flight for any possible air threats, no attacks from them made at the moment of time. "I just can't wait to win this war, I'm sick of it now, the waiting kills you not the war itself." Keitel yet still continued to speak with Overbear for purchasing come chemical missiles and bombs.

*arangeing to meet Mr keitel in neutral ground, international waters aboard one of the republics odd looking subear class crusers.*

Mr Keitel, we do not just sell a few missiles, or a bomb or two. What we offer is a total package deal

For the mear sum of 900 million USD, we can provide you with 5 long range "trout" class missles, along with the support vehical for tracking, and 5 mobil launch platforms. Included with this is 5 warheads. Now you inquired about our biological platform, anthrax-d series. Please understand this is a unstable platform, it must be tempature controled and kept in cryo systems untell use. Any deviation from our recomendations can normaly kill the spore and render it useless. Along with the platform, we will include 100,000 doses of anti-toxin made for use with the D series, and of course you can purchace another 100,000 units for one(1) million each.

We require a down payment of half(1/2) the total amout ordered including anti toxin units, rest payable apon delievery.

Now Mr keitel, you also understand that D series anthrax is non lethal yes? It is a strain custom made by our labs to cause sickness for about 20-30 days in a wide spectrum of about 70% of the populus, 20% see only 1-5 days of sickness, 9% are unafected, and 1% result in death, normaly among the elderly. Sickness includes weakness, inablity to keep soilds down, breathing problems, cronic fatuige, and dehydration. Spread is thru contact or breathing, cleanup is a snap it breaks down in water, and can only last airborn for 30-50 minutes.

What do you think Mr Keitel?

"I just can't wait to win this war, I'm sick of it now, the waiting kills you not the war itself." Keitel yet still continued to speak with Overbear for purchasing come chemical missiles and bombs.

yes, that's right you're going to A) use landbased artillery against a naval fleet (just a hint, unless they're actually doing a ground attak (which I'm not) then military ships are usually far outside artillery range, you'd have to use missiles.
and B) Sneak up on a Carrier battle group, because of course I have never heard of reconaisance sattelites, AWACS, air cover, reconaisance drones or radar, I will react to those attacks as if they had been properly roleplayed (I.E. ignore the artillery and missile the destroyers)

"Sir, intel has enemy ships advancing on our position."

"Is the information targettable?"

"Yes sir, a realtime sattelite is tasked to our position, we can see just about anything on the surface on this hemisphere if we wanted to."

"Allright, Fire missiles, send in aircraft to pick of any survivors."

"Yes sir."

:Aboard the Hydra class Arsenal ship "DeathStryker":
"Fire mission, repeat we have fire mission, arm lots twenty five through seventy five, get input from Door Jam."

"Targetting information recieved, lots twenty five through seventy five are armed for firing we are go fire mission."

"Rodger that, Fire mission approved, fire all missiles."

"Missiles away."

On the deck of the ship were hundreds of squares, as soon as the fire order was input fifty of those squares erupted in flame as the boost phases of fifty Tern anti shipping missiles ignited proppeling the missiles into the air, accelerating the missiles towards mach three, the magic number, the ignition velocity for the Type thirty seven Shrak SCRAMjet. before the missiles were even ten miles from the fleet they were taveling at mach six towards they're intended targets, just before entering countermeasure range of the targets the missiles began screeming on just about every radar frequency, enveloping radars capable of targetting them with jamming. at terminal range small solid rocket fuel thrusters attached at pseudo random angles were ignited in series, pushing the missiles in random and unexpected directions making the jobs of any anti missile systems very very difficult. If and when the missiles reached their targets the would blow right through most armour and detonate with enough force to break the back of all but the most durable destroyers

ooc: totaly cool, just be aware if your not up on modern chemical warfare, nerve toxins like VX-4 and VS-X series have no known anti-toxin, and in the case of VS series, no known protection (ie, suits and masks wont protect aganst it, and yes some idiot in RL realy made crud THAT nasty  have to ask myself....why?)
you also realize that this feature as well as the utter lack of secondary infection coupled with the extreme persistance and lack of airborne spread (Nerve toxins are notorious for not affecting large areas except in the most ideal wind conditions) makes both of the agents mentioned utterly useless in any modern war scenerio, the agents are unpredicatable, volatile and have a low area of effect, sure its nasty but for weaponized deployment its almost useless.

Thank you for the kind offer however we keep to doing all transactions in international waters. Keeps things...above board so to speek.

Now, if you seek lethat responce over a wide area, I might suggest a more custom solution. Of course all custom virull systems require special care, and up to a year to deliever depending on complexity, and desired lethal half life. One does not just "whip" together a few amino acids, some protine and call it done sir. We of the Republic of Overbear have long prided ourselves on the quality of our labs, and the product they produce. I also note you wish to take as few of the civilian population as posible, while this is an admerable idea. Useing a custom bio weapons platform, might not be for the best. It is quite dificult to keep it from spreading across the intire populus once started. This is why unless one is planing on starting their own bio development labs and containment systems, I would suggest sticking with the less than lethal options, and the spot useable chemical ones.

Gimme the best you have to offer for a custom made lethal chemical package, I have to go serve in this war but if you desire to speak some more I'll have a channel open." With this Keitel took into a helicopter that would serve good enough for his vehicle for the present time and flew off.

Upon driving off from Overbear Keitel spoke out commands for attack of air raids, my destroyers started to pull back a bit. Just then a squadron of Falcon Strikers came into veiw, auto-locking any and/or all above water targets and firing at their will with missiles and machine guns then flying off as another squardon came to veiw. As soon as the missiles were launched though the jets raised their speeds from mach 2 to mach 3 in a matter of a minute and then to mach 4 and out of the range of the naval forces. Also as the air raid gave off good hopes my ships had pulled out of the range of Mondoth's navy.

OOC: Also Mondoth, I had my submarines track down yours and fire upon them as well so please post results and damages or losses of that too.

19-05-2005, 23:35
The moon lay hidden behind the clouds over the town, as the twilight hours dragged on. Midnight had not passed more than an hour ago, and most lay in their beds, asleep or falling asleep. Those who were more vigilant stayed up, constantly awaiting news of what was happening on the front near Verghastinel, or near the coast. However, both were far away from here, and the people who were up were few and far between. Little did they know, their vigilance would be met with vindication in only a few minutes.

Like phantoms, the jets cruised through the black night sky. Stealthily and silently, they moved towards the border. 40 Raptors, and 30 Nighthawks moved like shadows, unnoticed by radar, infrared and visible sight, exactly how they had been designed. Inside the cockpit, a small little line was illuminated on their radar screen, an unseeable border that signified the beginning of Aurora. Without hesitation, or retaliation, they passed into Urelia.

Due to the distance between the town and the front or sea, ground forces were light, consisting of a few tanks, SAMs, and a couple barracks. Many were like the villagers, asleep, while the others did night patrol on radar. The radar did not see the incoming threat, and so, when it occured, they were taken completely off guard.

In a series of bright flashes, much of the ground forces were obliterated. Almost immediately, the people in the town and base were awoken with the sounds of war and conflict, but it was too late. Hidden by the night sky, and barely detectable on radar or other sensors, the small force was not able to bring their guns onto the invading force before being demolished.

Soon after, the large transports began moving into their positions. The Urelian forces could do nothing to prevent the drop, and now thousands of Geisenfried paratroopers had begun. Fires started from the attack were reflected in the shimmering parachutes, giving the illusion that the Northern Lights were coming down upon the town, making Operation Aurora true to its name.

The townspeople, now extremely frightened were helpless as they watched the steely-eyed Geisenfried soldiers march through their town. The battered Urelian forces surrendered, greatly outnumbered and outgunned. With the operation a success, and the battle won, one soldier planted down the Geisenfried flag down into the earth. The invasion had begun, and Geisenfried had its foothold.

In the gloomy pre-dawn dark, the roar of the jet engines split the usual calm of the middle atmosphere. Cruising in high and fast, the advance wings of the 12th Imperial Air Force broke in over the Verghastan coast near the Urelian border. Radar sweeping the skies, the Generian pilots were vigilant but calm as they proceeded towards the airbases the Verghastan government had designated for their use. They had received word that Geisenfreid had already begun establishing air superiority in the area, but there would be no chances taken.

Captain Leonid Gregov spoke into the radio in his helmet.

“This is Slingshot-1 of the GIAF to Verghastan air control, requesting permission to land.”

“Copy Slingshot-1. Slingshot units cleared for landing. Welcome to Urelia.”

Gregov adjusted himself somewhat in his seat, trying to ease the discomfort of a long flight, before easing the throttle and putting on the airbrakes, narrowing his path so that the GIF-1 would pull in for a smooth landing on the Verghastan runway. Once there he hoped for a quick orientation followed by a long shower and some rest. He doubted, however, that he would be that lucky.

"Absolutley, I have screw noises doing slow turns, looks like he's probably trying to acquire a firing solution."

"Allright" replied the watch officer and took the safety measure that his training demanded in this situation, he pushed a small red button on his console, whispered a few words to the captain through his intercom and stood very still, throughout the boat red lights began blinking, the engines stopped and the sub became a tomb, dead in the water. as soon as the engines had stopped how ever a decoy had be launched, playing a recording of the fourty eight hours of submarine noises produced by a submarine for thisspecific purpose, to even a highly trained observer on excellent equipment it would sound as if the sub had never stopped. all throughout the submarine fleet similiar scenerios were taking place, and as the hunters continued to track their 'quarry' they became the hunted, only the hunted had only to weight, the decoys had a preprogrammed course set that would lead the hunters a merry chase around the ocean, but would eventually lead them straight back to the now silent, unmoving subs, and then the trap would be sprung.

UNN Radio Station, Herdovga - Contested City, Urelia, 0122hrs

Pvt. Amsel, of the newly-formed 88th 'Legion' - currently rather under-strength, at only ninety-one men - levelled his SST at the Urelian sentry patrolling the radio station roof. He adjusted for distance. The scope was aimed at the man's head, but the round would probably hit him in the chest at this distance. 155mm artillery shells screamed overhead, requisitioned by their Black Guard Combat Advisor, Lieutenant Tibor Ilek. Amsel waited for an impact to cover the his shot, and squeezed the trigger.
The rifle bucked in his hands, it's sound masked by the overwhelming noise of the shell. He saw the man fall in his scope, his neck blown away by a 7.62mm slug. Amsel ejected the casing and switched to the second sentry, who had stopped to watch the bombardment. Another shell whistled through the air, and the shot was lost in the detonation. The man span on his heel, a six-inch hole is his back.

Amsel activated his microbead radio, "This is Amsel, roof is green and all's well. Repeat, roof..."
-----
"...is green and all's well" crackled the radio. Pvt. Fruehauf slung his StG05 over his shoulder and hauled himself onto the dumpster. He gingerly took hold of an old steel drainpipe, and used it to climb onto the first rung of the fire escape. He climbed past the four floors of the station's multi-storey car park, before finally reaching the roof.

He ran to the edge and activated his microbead, "Fruehauf in position, show me where you are"

Fruehauf scanned the nearby rooftops for a second, before a flash of light caught his eye. He pulled his rifle into his hands and detatched the grenade launcher, letting the gun hang slack on it's harness. The launcher was pre-loaded, and he fired it high into the air towards Amsel's flickering torch.
-----
The thin cable slammed into the gravel beside him, and Amsel quickly put his foot on it to stop it slipping over the edge of the roof. They were lucky it had worked first time, and he slipped the suction cap onto the end, tying it hard. Amsel leant over the edge of the building to attach the cap to the wall. At this end, he was two stories above Fruehauf, so the zip would be easy. Behind him stood their squad commander, Unterfeldwebel Ritter, and beside him the stony-faced Generian, Lieutenant Ilek. Amsel readied his clips, and attached himself to the zipline, before rolling over the edge.
After a sudden jerk on his harness, Amsel began the slide. The air flew at his face, making it more difficult to breathe, but he kept his eyes on the other end of the line, judging the distance. Barely a metre from the end, Amsel unhooked himself, and the momentum carried him through the window in front him. The glass shattered as he hit it, barely slowing him, and Amsel rolled as he landed. He hit the far wall with considerable force, and the thin chipboard splintered. Quickly he got to his feet and moved out of the way, as seconds later Ritter cannoned through the broken window. He too rolled, and a second hole was punched into the wall.
Amsel saluted with a smile.

The NCO scowled at him as he stood up, "Oh fuck off, Amsel. I see you hit it too"

A moment passed, and the dark form of Lieutenant Ilek followed the prescribed route, his shoulder making a deep imprint in the chipboard.
Ilek stood up, with a curse, before glancing at the two Verghastans.

"Don't just stand there, you stupid bastards!" he hissed, "We've got our orders, so let's damn well get on with them"

Ritter gave the officer a half-hearted salute, and unpacked a firebomb from Amsel's backpack. He quietly walked to the door, and opened it a fraction, before pulling out the pin and rolling the grenade through the gap. A muffled Whump marked the detonation, followed soon by the automated sprinklers and the deafening ring of fire alarms.
-----
"GET MOVING!" yelled Ilek, and Ritter shoulder-barged the door, StG05 in hand. The white-hot flames of his phosphorus grenade greeted him, burning ever stronger from the sprinklers, and he led the other two down the right corridor. Ritter dragged his GPS from a pocket, and brought up the building's map. He held it close to avoid it getting sprayed with water, and memorised the turnings.

Left, left, second right, left again, door at the end of the hall

Ritter slammed into the door at a run, smashing it from it's hinges. The room was lit only by the glare of the security monitors, illuminating a roomful of radio equipment, a pair of Urelian soldiers and a man in a Colonel's uniform. Lieutenant Ilek came in after him, yelling for the two soldiers - who had reached for their sidearms - to put their weapons away. Faced with the three heavily-armed men, they obeyed, and Ilek blew them both away, before turning his weapon on the electronics. His eyes burned as he rammed the butt of his rifle into the Colonel's stomach, before grabbing the man from behind and choking him into unconciousness.

He lifted the officer onto his shoulder, "Let's get out of here, Ritter"

Ritter consulted his GPS again, and led them towards the rooftop.

Back to the end of the hall, left, third right, left..."SHIT!"

Amsel had cried out as they turned the corner. Blocking their path was a giant of a man, seven feet tall at least, wearing the uniform of a Urelian Sergeant Major, and holding an evil-looking machinegun. Ritter didn't stop. He shouldered into him, a knee hammering into the man's groin, and a stinging left flew towards his face. There was a sickening crack as the man's nose broke sideways, and Ritter felt huge hands close around his neck and belt. He was lifted bodily, and thrown through the corridor wall like a ragdoll. The giant crouched over him, one huge hand holding his head to the floor. Ritter knew he was going to die. Here and now.
Amsel fired, his rifle sounding deafening in the confined space of the corridor, and the bullet tore into the man's stomach, exiting from his left side with a spray of blood and flayed meat. Ritter saw his chance for life, and scrabbled for his boot-knife. His hand closed around it's handle, and he ripped it from it's sheath. Blindly he thrust it upwards. The pressure on his face lessened, and he pushed the hand away, revealing his knife embedded in his would-be-killer's right eyesocket. Fluid from the ruined eye dribbled down the blade and over his hand. Ritter slid the corpse away from himself, and recovered his rifle.
Amsel dragged him to his feet, "We'd best get going, Herr Ritter"
-----
The microbead crackled, "Fruehauf, this is Ritter. We have the target and we're coming up, so don't damn well shoot us"

"Copy that" replied Fruehauf.

The door to the stairs was flung open, and Ritter, Ilek and Amsel ran through onto the roof and the freezing air. Ritter and Amsel took up firing positions, whilst Ilek dragged the twitching Urelian Colonel behind a ventilation unit.

"They're coming up" whispered Ritter, and Fruehauf took position beside the Generian officer.

The crash of footsteps could be heard as their Urelian pursuers climbed the staircase. Fruehauf dragged a grenade from his belt and peered out from his cover. He pulled the pin, and threw it through the still-open doorway. Frantic yells echoed up the stairs, and the explosion sounded hollow. Lieutenant Ilek had dumped the Colonel on the floor, and was yelling into his microbead for extraction when the Urelian infantry finally charged out onto the roof. Instantly they were fired upon from all sides, Ritter and Fruehauf with their StG05's, firing two-round bursts into the terrified men, Ilek with his own controlled automatic fire, and Amsel firing both his own and Ritter's pistols, one in each hand. The panicked soldiers fled back down the stairs, their wounded still on the roof, screaming for help.
Over their cries could be heard the rythmic noise of helicopter blades, and the squad hurried to the chopper. The Colonel was dragged aboard, and a few last pot shots fired for the benefit of the cowering Urelian infantrymen, before they dissapeared into the starless sky...

OOC: Christ, that took a long time. Basically, GE's been training a Company of Verghastan Fallschirmjäger (Paratroops), so that I can have some Spec Ops blokes (The 88th Legion. Or they will be.). Kaiser Martens
20-05-2005, 18:31
The Kriegsmarine had been gathering and moving to the area since Martens had first spoken, and now they were ready to act. Martens decided to postpone the aerial attack and landed their ships in a couple of Thuringen class Carriers.

He had mobilized a large portion of the Kriegsmarine along with the SS Leibstandarte portion of it, and they now began to approach the enemy forces without haste but without pace, in three groups, one of which stood behind and waited.

The first group was the largest and was heading directly for the enemy fleet.
It consisted of 5 battleships, 3 Karew types and 2 Scharnhorst types, plus a large amount of Heavy Cruisers, Cruisers, fewer Light Cruisers, 5 AA Hamburg type ships, two Isnatten type carriers, and a large amount of Z and T destroyers, plus the flagship, the great, magnificent Polarstern, which would be commanded by Martens himself, which made the Bismarck look like an old little piece of junk.

The second group had Battleship Bismarck II and 5 other Dönitz types while it had a large amount of cruisers, but fewer heavy cruisers and a great, large amount of Destroyers. Apparently it would seem weaker, but it was accompanied by a good amount of Asgaard and Niflheim type U-Boots.

The third group for now would be unknown but it was rumored that it'd be used as support if anything went too wrong or got too difficult. The Main Group, with Martens standing on the control room of the Polarstern, continued to approach until it was in range of the main guns of it and the Battleships, not yet the Heavy cruisers as their guns were smaller though, then again these would contribute with some V rockets designed especially against ships.
"Feuer Einstallen." Martens ordered, and all the ships in range while the whole fleet continued to approach, let one one shot from each of their available weapons, in perfect accuracy. The powerful great barrage of shells went forth and so followed a good but obviously smaller amount of V missiles. But before those would hit, something much more lethal had been fired from the most modern ships and from specially adapted T destroyers on the front of the army. A barrage of extremely fast, partially homing Supercav Torpedoes was fired to the enemy fleet, they're so fast they'd surely arrive along with the shells or maybe before them. Martens nodded again and some 150 bombers and 250 fighters took off from the carriers and grouped up before heading together for the enemy fleet. And so, the Martens Kaiserreich's attack began.

The fleets massive array of radars lit up to full power and immediately acquired targets, missiles and artillery shlls became radar frequency energy beacons ans thousands of giga watts of energy was reflected off them, all became targets for an almost solid wall of anti air/anti missile misiles, an almost solid wall, several missiles and more than a few artillery shells got through, CIWS systems dealt with most of the missiles but for the most part shells were only mildly affected. The Super cavs were a different matter, many took off in wrong directions, perhaps spoofed by decoys or just misfired, but plenty kept track, luckily the straight path made them perfect targets for anti torpedo torpedoes, unfortunately the speed and number ensured that the Mondothian fleet couldn't get off enough anti torpedoes to counter the entirety of the attack, explosions filled the air as torpedos, artillery shells and a scattering of missiles was either destroyed or slammed home into Mondothian ships. Before the holocaust was over the Mondothian reply was already in the air, skimming low over the waves was a volley of Nautilus anti ship missiles, low and fast using SCRAMjets to achieve hypersonic speeds and skimming low over the waves to avoid detection and defensive weapons, above and slighly behind was a further wave of THROR standoff ship to surface missiles, they packed more of a punch but were more vulnerable to defensive fire, to compensate they carried their own jamming system but who knew how well that would work. The Nanticoke class carrier "Revelie" was relativlely issolated at the densest point in the defensive net, surrounded on all sides by defenses it remained unharmed for the first stage of the battle to keep it that way the carrier began launching the heavy AF-39 'Panther' close air support fighter/bomber while the remaining Corsair class carriers launched PC-12s and SF-41s for air support of the decidedly un agile craft, the Panthers however didn't need to be agile, they're sturdy design shrugged off all but the loss of major components and then responded with withering hails of ordinance, everything from air to ground missiles, guided bombs and the powerful 30mm anti tank canon. A soon as the response was settled the carriers all swithed to launching SF-41 'Ruddy Hawk' air superiority fighters and agile Dragon fly fighters, the non carriers began launching VF-12 Gull VTOL fighters to fend off the inbound air attak, on the decks of the remaining Barriers crews and machines alike struggle to have the VLS cells loaded with anti air missiles before the aircraft arrived. As the Mondothian response hit its terminal phase breaths were held. what would survive, what would the response be?

Beneath the surface the fleets defense subs began their work, using the chaos of the attacks they snorted recharging their batteries from the diesel generators, once done they swithed to the silent batteries and used the high speed that resulted in the class being called the 'Swift' to make their way underthe enemy fleet, moving faster than most conventional torpedos (Much like the russian 'Golf' class) the plan was to quickly penetrate submarine defenses and release a set of magnetic lamprey mines before slipping out th other side of the fleet, hopefully out running any response, hopefully.

The NNS Fleet cautiously entered the contested waters of Urelia, under the protective net of fighters and air search radars the fleet advanced, quicly a small group of Storm crow type reconaisance drones was launched from the fleet and began taking stock, the first thing they noticed was Mondoth's postion.

Fromt he deck of the three Peregrine class Carriers sprung two hundred Osprey Fighter Bombers in the space of less than half an hour, the fighters quicly began moving towards the battle to defend the allied fleet.

Kaiser Martens

Martens watched the result of the first wave of shots with interest, taking notes for future use. "Allright now, charge forth together, Feuer frei." The mass of ships began to speed up towards the enemy fleet while keeping close and in cohesion. Martens gave another order and all the smaller Destroyers and light cruisers moved forth to serve as cannon fodder as the Scramjets torpoedoes, weapon unknown until then by The Reich, hit most of the targets, with few exceptions. "Concentrate the firepower on those weird water surface missiles. We can't afford to be hit any further by them."

The planes that had been sent were extremely well prepared and in the first stage of the aerial attack the fighters proved to be superior and the bombers shot at will to everything in sight, however with the second deploying of fighters the bombers just let out the remains of their bombs in a hurry at whatever they'd hit and rushed back home to the safety of the carriers with the AA cruisers nearby. The fighters stayed behind and tried to ensure that the bombers would survive. If chased these would enable their air mines and jamming (Though jamming isn't always so reliable) to minimize losses. Finally what was left of the fighters would return, a few who found themselves too wounded to do so just crashing into ships here and there, kamikaze style.

The submarine action was a different story. They got past the first few submarines quite easily, but the majority although not a great number were scattered under the fleet. As soon as the first detected the moving submarines the other ones received the information, locked, and begin to fire a variety of torpedoes at them. Some were high tech regular torpedoes, some were supercavs, and someone were destined to drill the enemy. The few submarines in the back of the fleet approached to begin doing the same. At the same time part of the fleet deployed their own Antisubmarine Torpedoes which started to follow the enemies, although they would not reach them until these would slow down.

"Keep Firing, come on!" Martens ordered as the ships that were off range became closer and let out all their firepower forth against the enemy, soon many V missiles flying up high and then heading down towards the fleet while the shells kept flying and the torpedoes kept swimming. "They jammed our supercavs, disable the tracking system from all of them and fire all we've got."
This took a bit, a minute or two before all the ships were ready to fire their supercavs again, which would prove to become the main weapon for defense. Medium cruisers had to move to the frontline to cover the holes caused by the destruction of light cruisers and destroyers by the scram torpedoes, to protect the heavier ships and the Polarstern itself. Then the Polarstern shot upwards what would seem to be a regular V missile, but when this one headed down to hit the fleet it exploded with a blinding (Literally for the human eye) flash although the explosion itself was almost unexistant, and this for about 15 seconds would distort the readings from their radars and whatnot, causing a few of them to burn out, as the weapons now had 15 seconds of "free hits" against the fleet. When this happened however about one third of the Kriegsmarine fleet could not deactivate their radar systems with the right timing to prevent the damage as the rest did, and suffered from those 15 seconds as well, then again the new weapon would be worth it. The second group that had been away charged forth, a group of small ships and submarines moved towards the enemy flank using 110% of the speed their engines could provide, aiming to break through their defenses and deorganize them. The Bismarck II and a few more heavy ships joined these ones to try to draw fire from the smaller ships, although they would not arrive as quickly.

"Where are the reinforcements, bleh." Martens mumbled as he watched the battle and the frontal lines of his ships falling one by one, some explosions below the fleet as submarines from both bands started to fall as well.

"None of our ships will attack that carrier. Be careful with stray torpedoes though, they have great range."

OOC: the nautilus isn't a torpedo its just a very low flying missile but whatever...

IC:

The submarines that remained under the Kaiser fleet were not totally unexpected but the use of supercavitating torpedoes as anti sub weapons was and it had a devastating effect on the light Swify class subs destroying almost every one that they were used against.

In the surface combat things were goiung differently, the sucess of the Nautilus missiles in the first barrage triggered a second barrage of the high speed sea skimmers. as well as a smattering of Thror type missiles. the defense fighters had fared reasonably well against the enemies fighter and bombers but more than a few bombs still got through to the fleet causing plenty of damage.

"Those supercavs'll be the death of us, I want a ssolid wall of anti torpedoes between us and the next wave of those!"
"Aye sir, deploying anti torpedoes in passive mode, should keep more of the next wave off"
but is was too late for this wave, the torpedoes had already been launched and the same defenses were presented as the last wave with only slightly better results.

The Fleet was just finished preparing for the next attack when it came, and the Polarstern detonated over the fleet wrecking havoc with the targetting systems, luckily the fleet had emergency systems that automatically took over while the distortion persisted but they were less effective and the 15 seconds after the PolarStern strike was devestating.

"Sir, interference on all surface defenses, the alternates switched on perfectly but we have several seconds before we have normal defense functions again."

"Damnit! Give the Mojaves free reign, and activate the palminoset system."

"Aye sir, routing defenses through the Mojaves and activating palminoset"

As the order was given the two Mojave class light destroyers moved forward. The Mojaves were technology testbeds, they had only been used in one other military operation but had acquited theselves well, Instead of using Radar to acquire targets the Mojaves used a rapidly nutuating LIDAR system that was similiar in concept to a radar but used low powered lasers instead. the system was energy and maintainance intesive but in a sistuation where radar wasn't working LIDAR was the next best thing virtually un jamable the system had several advantages for detection, even against stealthed targets. but it was the actual defenses that made MOJAVE special, the Mojave class light destrpyers were equipped with 6 IR and UV band chemical laser batteries, useless at most engagement ranges the lasers were excelent at destroying missiles and s soon as they were moved forward thats what they did, unfortunatly by tha time the damage was done and the fleet had to partially withdraw. To make up for it they unleashed witht he most powerful weapon in the Mondoth fleet, the Hydra class Arsenal Ship, not as big as the newer Leviathans it had the advantae of not being quite so much a target. carrying 800 immediately useful missiles and as many as 1600 missiles that had to be loaded into the VLS cells the ship lived up to its name, for the next Hydra proceeded to launch a half barrage (400 missiles) of Shrikes, even more powerful than the Thrors these missiles had several advantages, integral jamming features, lower flight profile, the shrikes were mostly made of radar absorbent materials giving them a very low radar cross signature, and they had several rows of pseudo randomly distributed solid rocket booster strips that randomized theyre flight profile in the terminal phase as it reached defense range which made high accuracy practically impossible, but against something the size of a warship a high level of accuracy wasn't necesary. The Missiles were very epensive and were not used often in ship to ship warfare but when they were it was a bad day all around. smoke filled the air from the trails of the four hundred shrike missiles as they ignited they're SCRAMjet thrusters pushing them to very high speeds towards their targets.

As the "Flights of Fancy" was pulling into the harbour, in the 'tank' things were begining to hapen, the soldiers began to check and recheck weapons, battle gear was examined and tested, the troops CENTURION infantry suite (Similiar to the Land Warrior system but with a few refinements) ran self diagnostic checks to ensure battle readiness. five or six at a time soildiers were allowed out of the tank to stretch and reacustom themselves to the outside before going back in to wait for the final signal to let another group walk around. a pair of snipers, dressed as repair men with the rifles disassembled in tool boxes climbed the ships radar mast, hid themselves among the dishes and antennas and quickly assembled their rifles, once the ship pulled up to the dock they would use their thermal and optical sights to locate and identify armed securtiy personel. when the attack began they would take as many of those out as they could while the soldiers were exiting the tank.

Soon after the snipers were ready the ship was alongside the dock and the snipers went to work sweeping the waterfront looking for targets.

(Sorry for taking too long. And for confusing the nautilus. The fact that I didn't know such weapon existed was what confused me, I suppose.)

The backup fleet with the crowd of destroyers and the Bismarck II bashed into and through the flank of the enemy fleet, every single cannon shooting like there is no tomorrow, the Bismarck's sheer power bashing aside the smallest ships, it wasn't just a replica of the old one, but it was improved, and it's enormous shells could not be stood for long by any kind of armor. This would cause many losses of the lower class destroyers but it would not allow the enemy fleet to escape. In the same moment of this created chaos all the remains of the ships that were held in the carriers were deployed and sent forwards right after the 400 missiles had been fired, the bombers taking missiles instead so they could defend against the enemy fighters while being still relatively useful against harder targets.

All the Kriegsmarine's ships began to advance when they saw the enemy fleet receeding, the lighter speeds going forth for the kill as they saw the Bismarck in the distance, also shooting away like there is no tomorrow as in combination the rest of all the supercav torpedoes were fired in two more waves. Martens saw the Hydra Class ship atop the Polarstern and nodded, the gigantic ship advancing at a relatively awesome speed towards it and just using the "good old" emergency manual aim to have every single cannon and torpedo fire at it to not let it fire further, while Wasserfall AA rockets and after that every AA defense available tried and shot at those 400 deadly missiles.

Then the rest of the fleet came, the final backup mentioned before, they were but a small amount of Cruisers and Heavy Cruisers that approached to join the battle belatedly, but before those arrived a large number of Komet 05 fighters, and Schlafer type Helicopters, which were in a carrier that had been left behind, slower than the cruisers and heavy cruisers. The helicopters added with their powerful misssiles, chainguns and bombs to the insanity of the battle, but the Komets being the best fighter in the Reichs' arsenal saw the missiles and attempted to desperatedly destroy some of those, their speed allowing it for it was greater than all other aircraft in the arsenal. While the rockets flied, only a limited number of them being halted, several battleships moved to serve as shield to the Polarstern. How the planes at everything could still fire at the SCRAM missiles this time was because of the Odinsauge system, the nature of which is not to be devealed so lightly, but to justify it, it can analyze the movement of the air to know where a missile, plane, or anything is, that being just one of the many awesome characteristics that drained so many gold reserves until it was built and brough safety from many, many things. The Polarstern though continued to advance raudly, the massive turrets firing at the Hydra like the two Scharnhorst Battleships, not caring how much damage they'd sustain as long as they'd keep it from firing off another round. The Heavy Cruisers in the back of the fleet advanced to the battle firing off their last Supercavs before the fleet went all-out shell shooting style to destroy the enemy, as ships from both sides sank everywhere and anywhere.

:aboard the Author class fleet supply vessel "Matador":
"Sir they're coming right at us, it looks like they're trying for a direct engagement!"
the admiral was flabergasted
"A direct engagement, no ones tried one of those in at least a hundred years! give the order to all ships unmask anti ship batteries and set rules of engagement to unlimited, all ships are to go to flank speed immediately and fire at will."

"Aye sir, transmitting now."

The war ships of the three Mondothian battlegroups unmasked the full fury of naval warfare, activating anti ship missile quads armed with the close range swallow multirole missiles they began doubling the amount of missiles being fired towards the enemy and with the unrestricting of warfare supercavitating ADCAP torpedoes shot through the water towards the Bismark and its supporting fleet in droves. meanwhile the fleet powered up the industrial strentgh electromagnetic coils of its magneto-hydrodynamic thrusters using the magnetic properties of salt water the thrusters pushed and pulled water throgh tubes in the ships hulls creating thrust, the advantages over traditional screws was plain when the drives were at full power, they could change direction with the flick of a switch reversing current to the coils or they coul produce more thrust propelling the massive warships at speeds approaching forty knots, faster than any other warship, now the fleet was using all the advantages of the drives turning the Bismark fleets reckless advance instantly into a deathtrap, surounding and dividing the enemy fleet.

while this was happening almost a hundred Gobi class and Sahara class guided missile ships began a similiar attack against the advancing Marten's fleet, the enemies wide formation provided a weaply of targets for both Nauitilus sea skimming missiles and Sparrow close range missiles. however the overwhelming numbers and masses of fire would soon crack the shell fo guided missile ships, despite the swarm of SuperCav and missiles they launched statistic said that plenty of enemy ships would break through, hopefully the Bismark fleet could be dealt with in time.

OOC: WB. Anyways, I found several errors in your reasoning...

You ignored the fact that the secondary battle group with the Bismarck II bashed in and through your ships as firing the heck out at everything in sight, this means that the use of missiles on those ships is not viable for it's all a very close range mess, not to mention the fact that the going-through of part of the fleet surely caused some of the ships of your fleet to be very deorganized from their initial formation.

Then, you ignored the fact that the Polarstern is to anihilate the Hydra with the help of two other battleships, the names of which I do not recall right now but are above.

Then, you seem to have ignored the attack and effect of attack from the deploying of my remaining helicopters and airships.

Also, how can each ship of mine be targeted by at least once and some by two, if my fleet is much bigger? Please clarify.

Okay, so your ships are faster. So what? You cannot move em out effectively, because the Bismarck II group messed things up and is directly on your way, the only movement you can do is retreat some of your ships and leave many to die. Besides my fleet was using a rather wide formation for more firepower, so in the time it'd take for your ships to try and run off, they'd be blasted easily before they can get anywhere. Besides...

IC: Then the submarines from before arrived, which had surrounded the enemy fleet mostly undetected deep within the water, then the Niflheim types fired madly their missiles up at him and the Asgaard types moved abruptly closer to the surface and fired their torpedoes like there's no tomorrow. A few of the more stranded Cruisers and Heavy Cruisers, only just a very little amount that had been left to attack the carriers moved to the front though another rank and fired away with shells, missiles, and torpedoes...

"Use the Eisbrecher" Martens ordered.
Then, the Polarstern activated it's most powerful antiship weapon. Energy was deviated from many systems to a cannon near the centre of the ship that had remained unused until then. Martens muttered under his breath annoyed at this situation as ships fell here and there. Within 30 seconds, that cannon had gathered enough energy, and then shot out burning the air a bestially large shell towards the Hydra, at 4 times the velocity of a regular bullet....then, the energy was reestablished to the ship and it kept fighting with the regular weapons....the great Eisbrecher weapon was the latest technology in cannons, however due to it's enormous requirement of energy it would need to rest for hours before it could be used again, or the Polarstern would otherwise burnout. Once it'd hit the Hydra, this would not stop it, and it would go and hit another ship and if that one was not heavy, then another until it finally lost it's hellish speed and either remained stuck into something or sank into eternity. It took only 13 seconds for the Polarstern to continue firing it's awesome shells and rockets.

OOC: Just admit your defeat. I will of course then post my losses, or rather, the survivors...and I will ignore all those missiles fired at us because the incoherence of your reasoning as I had stated above.

OOC: Well I missed seeing numbers on the fleets but I'll accept that your fleet is bigger, my ships are well armed and can handle the extra target load, target rich environments and all.

My ships aren't just faster they're more maneuverable no matter how fast you advance and change direction and whatnot You're still using traditional screws which are inherently limited, in short I can advance and change direction faster.

The Bismark attack is what I'm preempting by maneuvering around it, the bismark fleet is probably smaller than mine and I can probably quite easily surround it while maintaining enough ships to defend against your oncoming attack. Here's the deal I'm a little stressed right now so I shouldn't be writting much but tonight when I've destressed I will rewrite my post to be more legible and make more sense and we'll all go home happy.

To Mr. Bunnsy: Piggybacking is never acceptable (at least not to my knowledge) It would be nice to delete the post and start a new thread unless you plan on doing something of relevence to this war other than starting a rat colony, Also this thread is far from ended if you notice there is still a raging naval battle going on and thats just the beggining.

IC:

The Mondothian Fleet was in a bad way, it was time for direct intervention. The NNS Fleet put on full steam towards the battle utilising te full potential of their MHD High impulse thrusters, the 'Leviathan' first ship in the Leviathan class of heavy arsenal ships was already firing its long range Shrike stand off missiles and the carriers began launching a second wave of fighters, this time mostly SX-24 strike fighters armed to the teeth with both ait to air defense missiles to keep the enemy fighters off and heavy air to surface guided bombs to take out enemy ship, the primary targets were the massive battle ships especially the Polarstern with its massive gun and armaments. soon after the fighters dove out of the sky onto the Marten's fleet the NNS fleet was in firing range of the smaller swift Nautilus missiles and the water rippled with the number of launched missiles followed closely to by the rippling caused by a wave of Super cavitiating anti ship torpedoes.

Upon being surrounded the Kriegsmarine ships grouped up concentrically around the Polarstern, largest ships near the centre excepting the Bismarck which continued to fight alongside with other medium ships, because organization during battle was not always easy.

The only ships that did not group up like that were the submarines which slowly continued to go after the ships, firing torpedo after torpedo, the most skilled crews managed to mostly avoid detection, while the others did not so easily.

Martens grew more and more impatient as the battle which had seemingly been won before, suddenly was no longer that easy. At least some of the fallen and half-fallen ships would block some of the torpedoes hurled towards them. The lighter torpedo boats and the medium cruiser fired their own torpedoes blindly towards the incoming waves, using a cluster system to occupy more area with their blasts, managing to stop some of the enemy's offensive power. The Heavy Cruisers and the heaviest ships used their missiles with a similar cluster system combined with classic heavy FlaK AA to stop the other missiles thrown towards them and as well to attack the airships. The Polarstern managed to destroy most of what was thrown towards it, however even though some of the missiles just bluntly hit, the ship appeared to be undamaged. As soon as Martens saw that Leviathan he growled and decided he might need to strain the systems again if he failed to take it down. Marten's own aircraft were outnumbered again but this time there was no turning back from them, even the last plane and helicopter would fight and fight until the last one fell, to make the enemy's aircraft not important enough to damage the fleet much.

Whichever the case was, all the ships kept firing, the Bismarck and the Polarstern firing specifically at the Leviathan ship. Martens was disgusted to see that some of the other greatest biggest ship he had brought were now sinking slowly and painfully, more and more people dying all around him. However then he was happy to know that some more reinforcements were on their way. "Now I may be able to just win this without having to swim back home...." he growled, and focused his efforts to make sure to hold on long enough until Szittya came. The battle was pretty even after all.

Then the Verghastinsel available 14 Frigates, started to approach...before anyone could notice, they were in range, the Greek-Hero type frigates, and they intercepted some of the weakest Mondothian ships from a flank far away from Northern Nation States and just went in there and began to wreak havoc with their weaponry.

Still, Martens wasn't sure this would work, so he called Paris to have the elite SS Leibstandarte Kaiser Martens Luftdivision consisting of the latest technology in aircraft group up and eventually take off to head for battle.

"Damnit, Fire!" Martens growled impatient as he watched the battle unfold.

As a Final detterent the Modnothian fleet activated one of its last ditch defensive mechanisms, every ship carried a proportional amount of chemical mix to its size which when comned formed a thick black smoke, each ship was equipped with everything it needed to deploy this countermeasure, unfortuneatley the smoke would render the Mojave's all but useless but it would also obscure the fleet against visual detection, additionally radar and thermal decoys were deployed with noisemakers to present litteraly thousands of false targets in the smoke. fighters would also be severely restricted due to the lack of visibilty but the PC-12 aircraft used various radars frequencies as well as thermal and ultraviolet systems to navigate and maneuver, these would be virtually unaffected while the other Mondothian fighters would circle outside the smoke cloud and fire missiles in at radar designated targets, trusting to IFF transponders to keep the missiles away from friendly targets.
under the surface the fleets defense submarines deployed even more decoys filling the water with the sounds of fake submarines, recorded directly off of subs at sea trials and during active duty and training exercises. To keep the noise from becoming too much of a problem the SONAR's computer processors were programmed to edit out friendly sub noises, also Mondothian subs were equipped with a special blue green laser array that worked at ranges up to a dozen nautical miles as a sort of LIDAR giving the subs an unparrelled detectiona ability. after the initial wave of supercavs torpedoes were mostly restricted to standar ADCAPs which while much slower were a hundredfold more accurate and easily twice as deadly once they hit.

aboard the Matador, Admiral Jonathan Fairhope thanked his lucky stars for the intervention of the NNS fleet.

The fleets of Is have all been sent towards Kaiser Martens' enemies, leaving Is and Gaard to the defence of Atais, Svartberg and Hammerdal. Martens nodded quietly, he admitted that the Mondothian fleet used quite a very smart strategy this time. However, it would not do much good. The whole Silberunion was connected to the Odinsauge system, which enabled all of the units involved in the battle to use different scanning systems with an uplink, and so in 30 seconds it was all ready and all the ships continued to attack anyways at the retreating enemies, and the aircraft continued to fight those of the enemy, trying to stay in the smoke.

It appears that the tactic hurt Mondoth more than Martens, as the fleet of his continued to attack throwing every single shell and missile available while turning to chase them as well. At the same time this served to get away from Northern Nation States' fleet, the 14 Verghastan frigates getting in their way as they kept attacking, causing them not to be able to follow Martens.

Martens sighed a little reliefed now, he could not see the battle with his eyes anymore but the scanners were doing a great job. Mondoth's tactic was good, but because of the Odinsauge system it turned out to be it's downfall. Below, one of the engines of the Polarstern was turned off to receive quick repairs, it appears that after so many hits one actually managed to damage it.

Martens smiled as he had the information transferred to his allies, uplinking them as well to the Odinsauge system so that they can attack.

Admiral Fairhope could not have predicted that the Odinsauge system would be so effective dealing with the smoke and decoys but the designers of the Mondothian ships had had the foresight o see not only that the smoke screen would be necessary butalso that it might fail, as shells and other projectiles continued to hit his ships he activated the next step of defenses. The fleet used three main types of radar to target everything from incoming missiles to enemy ships and land masses. the Most powerful were the SPY-3a and SPY-3b solid state arrays, the a was an airborne radar used by the E-20 AWACS aircraft, primarily used for detecting fighters and directing air battles the E-20 also had a powerful targettin/acquisition radar. at this point in the air battle the SPY array was actually only being used forty percnt of the time, taking brakes every few milliseconds because there was nothing to do, not enough targets to illuminate. With the phase two defense protocol this down time was utilized in a different way, the SPY-3a radar can emit hundred s of gigawatts of RF energy down a one degree pathway, enough to physically cook anything upto the size of a large man. Every few milliseconds, when the radar would otherwise e doing nothing, now it directed the full force of its hundreds of gigawatts towards enemy ships, anything electronic would easily fry as if it had been struck by an intense EMP whether it was shielded or not, there was enough energy to burn most shielding away. Any people unprotected by metal decking would take massive damage from radiation, as if they had been microwaved. Additionally that amount of RF energy would disrupt communications for miles, the Mondothian fleet didn't need any more than basic communications that could be transmitted over sound phones but the Odinsauge system depended on frequent high bandwidth communication amongst the entire fleet (OOC: Correect me if I'm wrong but usually such systems require pretty complex communications and a properly aimed and powerful radar can disrupt anything but lasers and sound phones) and would more than likely be devstated. an additional advantage was the illumination of enemy ships, with that much RF energy being reflected off the enemy fleet they became almost beacon like making any radar guided missile most unlikely to miss. The Fleet continued to fire missiles a soon as the auto loaders would allow. (OOC: Not sure how the smokescreen hurts me, all my missiles are radar guided, it affects the performance of the small number of mojaves I have because the smoke disrupts the lasers, but they weren't doing much good at this point anyway.)

The leviathan and many other NNS ships stayed well out of artillery range of the enemy fleet, but missiles have a much longer range than even the massive 24in guns sported by some of todays more ostenatious navies. Several guided missile ships had closed to sparrow and Nautilus range but most of the ships stayed at Thror and Shrike ranges. NNS's real weapon however would more than likely be missed, stealthily the Freebotter patrol boats advanced, silent using small MHDs to provide only enough thrust forheadway until they were too close to the enemy fleet to miss, then they're real strength came out, the little boats revved their engines to fullpower, leaving them there for only as long as it too to get airborne, then the Surface Effect fast patrol boats ignited their jet thrusters and began the attack at between one and ten meters above the waters surface and at more than 100knots indicated airspeed, unbelievable fast and exceptionally maneuverable the little boats darted throughout the enemy fleet delivering sparrow missiles to every target that presented itself while blasting away with 70mm rocket pods that wouldn't damage the ships hulls very much but would turn the superstructures into death traps showering flechettes on any soft target, and HE to take out any equipment such as radars, missile launchers, communications systems or weapons systems that were above decks. additionally 80mm mortars rained from the fleet boats supported by fire from the 106mm guns. not much firepower to direct from a ship against another ship but against superstructures and vulnerable abovedeck equioment from ranges much less than even half a nautical mile the damage would be devestating.
OOC: Each Freebooter has 2 sparrow launchers, four 80mm mortars, one 106mm gun and two 70mm rocket pods.

Firstly, which fleet are you attacking, Northern Nation States?

Because I sent 15 frigates (From Verghastinsel) to get in your way so you cannot be in Missile Range with the main fleet, so it is not clear if you're trying to attack those 15 ships with missiles or if you got confused and think you're with the other one anyways. Then, about how big is your active fleet? I really have no idea there.

Then there's Mondoth....super attack type of thing.

I got confused and consulted my friend who is familiarized with futurist technologies and whatnot.

"If there is an EMP, it will spread out, and cover a wide enough area and since its HUNDREDS of GIGAWATTS....His radar and missiles would be ineffective, due to the ammounts of electromagnetic energy present.."

"Any high tech electronics are pretty much dogmeat, but so are the electronics of his EWACS (The thingy he's using to fire this), and his missiles wont lock on, they will from a range, but once they are close enough, all guiding techniques will be dogsheet"

So basically from what I can tell the thingy you did will fry all of your own systems, only working for some seconds until it burnt, and since EMP spreads as mentioned it will also make your radars and whatnot useless. Also all the planes on the air are just prone to "burn" and fall helplessly. So could you explain further a bit? Is this some sort of suicidal thing or do all your ships and planes have some special protection thing? If so, I must say, this is WAY above the Technology level of Mine, Verghastinsel, Szittya, and most of the people in the Silberunion, and you know I didn't complain about those special screwless engines (which are pretty much übertech compared to all of our High - but within modern parametres excepting the Polarstern technology) because I'm not one to want to whine too much, cause it breaks the Roleplay, but yeah, if so, I don't really think that using such a devastating attack is appropiate, unless it is ment to destroy both of our stuff. So confusing. Does EMP gets to hit the submarines as well?

OOC:Not sure about who's attacking who right now but as a bit of a sciency person (Espescially with regards to the military) I can safely say that.
1.) emps spread based on the initial charge, a smaller instigator realeases a smaller field, a small enough EMP generator could generate a field that spanned anywhere from a couple of feet to a few hundred meters, a larger one could go on for miles. anyway, he's not using EMPs Mondoth is using Microwaves whixch have pretty much the same effect on electronics with the added advantages of directability and that most shielding (typical military tech is shielded from EMP but RF or microwaves are much harder to shield against espescially at this level) is pretty ineffective, as to the AWACs being fried thats simply not true, its using a solid state radar transmitter which is typically capable of much higher resolution and output than the rotating dish type radars normally thought of when thinking about radar trasmitters. The AEGIS fleet defense system uses an SPY-1A radar which is a rotating dish capable of beaming close to a gigawatt of RF doen a one degree pathway, at ranges over a kilometer thats enough to fry electronics and microwave large birds, as well as cause genetic defects in people, especscially genes responsible for creating gametes (Anyone hit by this radar will have FLKs which is navy slang for 'funny looking kids') The reason this high energy output doesn't affect the ship or its crew is for two reasons 1.) The radar is not normally turned to that high of an energy output and 2.) because when its beaming out down one degree of arc the entirety of the beam is about pencil diameter until well outside the range where it could affect the ship, the radiation litterally never touches the source, if its was transmitting the energy in a larger field then no doubt it would be fried but at one degree of arc theres only danger if the computers that guide the radar beam break and the beam starts shooting towards whatever the transmitter is mounted on. His missiles will stop being guided but it would only be a terminal stage problem and the missiles should be flying directly toward the target anyway, with that much microwave energy floating around the ability to counter the missiles even just flying straight (which is what they'l be doing) is slim, the electronics that work the countermeasures will also be fried.

IC: The Soldiers were unaware of the naval battle, they didn't have to be aware of it, it wasn't their concern. As soon as the "FLights of Fancy" was docked the snipers went to work, picking off any targets they had found during the approach, in minutes the dock was flooded with soldiers taking control of the docks and eliminating threats. One of the first things to happen was the muscling of an Ytria Missile launcher onto the oil carrier deck, the missile was very easy to use, just point and shoot, tasked as a Battle ship destroyer the Heimdall would stand no chance, the missile quicly acquired and after the technicians insured the area was safe for launch the missile was away, streaking in low and deadly armed with a powerful penetrating warhead and enough explosives to break the keel of anything upto the size of a battle ship, a hit all but guaranteed a kill. as soon as the missile was away another was loaded incase there were other warships at port. Quicky a SAM site was set up on the ships deck as well to provide cover from an aerial retaliation. once the troops reached the city that was unlikely but the ship was expensive and they didn't want to lose it.

OOC: What kind of resistance will my troops face taking the docks and the city? Ideally I want both but if resistance is too high I will settle for just the docks and then shipping in more stuff.

Please state your losses and I will state mine if this irradiation stuff will be applied according to normal physics laws (radiation dissipates at range, it gets absorbed by the particles en route and you said that the EMP was so strong that no shielding could withstand it over range... that would mean that your ships would be fried even more, since the radiation is strongest at the source). Please get all your facts right, state your losses, tell me what you have hit me with exactly, let me state my losses and let this RP go on.

04-06-2005, 23:52
OOC: Um, I'm using radar not EMP, at high enough energy output radar has pretty much the same effect except that shielding doesn't protect as wel and as Free and United mentioned, it's highly directable. I know that the radiation will disipate but a hundred gigawatts is a lot of radiation to disipate, and as Free and United mentioned because of that directableness (sp.) it would have to be aimed at my ships to affect them, itsonly being aimed at the Kaiser formation, all I'm doing is something Aegis operators are trained to do at much closer ranges, directing a maximum out put RF beam against a target hich will disrupt communications and electronics at the target but NOT at the source, because its a DIRECTED beam, the entire AEGIS setup along wit most military naval radars would be useless without the directableness of RF radiation, the reason that radars work at all is because the radiaton can be directed away from electronics at the source.

Sorry I didn't respond directly to your bombs but I'm tallying them with the rest of the attacks going on against my fleet. if anyone ever wants a complete rundown of my remaining forces just ask I'm keeping a tally on my Comp.

OOC: Standard Free and United Infantry equipment is;

M-30 AR an evolution of the OICW weapon using lighter materials and firing the 6.8mm spc round.
P-37 .45 caliber automatic pistol, fires caseless ammunition.
Lancer integrated infantry suite. an evolution of Land Warrior, the uniform is made of an organic crystaline fiber that changes color when a light current is applied, not a complex change just changes between different patterns
L-90 light anti tank weapon and three rockets, the FAU military is primarily a tankless one so arming every soldier with a few anti tank rounds is just good sense.
four fragmentation grenades.

every squad also has an M-31 SAW which is basically an M-30 with extended magazine and full automatic fire.
every four squads (every brigade) also has an 7mm sniper rifle, an OCSW and a poleaxe ATGM.

Meh, just got back from Lifeguard certification, lots of work that.

Szittyaorszaag: Your guided bombs destroyed a couple of Sahara's and a pair of Gobi's, On the way out You'll probably either be dealing with my SF-41 Air superiority fighters or some of NNS's SX-24's, having designed both I can say that they are very formidible aircraft and losses will not be light. depending on your design they might be pretty severe on both sides.

Kaiser: If you're refering to my radar attack then you're looking at total disruption of all but the basest communications, any complex computers will be fried like bacon and radar will be severely limited. some of the more complex weapons control systems might take heavy damage as well, most likely missiles and CIWS's Though the damage will be fairly localized in the fleet, to keep from frying my stuff the radars are on a very tight beam depending on the density of your formation only three or four ships at a time, it would take anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes to fry each set of ships depending on the size of the ships and how close to each other they are and B/c I only have three AWACs up I can only hit three sets at a time.

Martens then regretted having put his ships in such a close formation as the electric systems seemed to go haywire here and there, burning out and causing chaos easily. They hadn't seen a weapon like this before, and did not know how to react at first. Only the last batch of ships were able to withstand it, so all in all this had a pretty devastating effect, the engines disrupted and all. It took some minutes but then the gun crews could continue to work, because they had manual modes not to rely on electric power, and they continued to fire in a stationary manner, along with regular torpedoes. The Polarstern was quick to turn the Eisbrecher cannon and shoot it towards whatever would seem to be the main source of the disruptive energy, straining it's own engines again as the great shot was fired, firing another one would not be an option, several systems close to overheating already...

Luckily the planes were not disrupted because the power had to be directed at his fleet, and they continued to attack, the battle was pretty even on the air now the numbers on both sides were similar. The submarines which had not found themselves anihilated (Because that'd be the result if they were hit) by the "radar beam" went to reinforce the 14 ships that were fighting with the other, attacking navy, while only some 10 went forth to try to finish off the Mondothian enemy with regular torpedoes. Some infantry which were hit by the beam were roasted alive like a chicken, and Martens felt nausea at that sight, just wishing for the battle to end as he wondered how long the Isnatten island chains' navy would take to arrive to the place.

OOC: Radar frequency energy doesn't propagate through water anyway. and seing as my fleet is wreathed in dense smoke manual aiming will be hard pressed to hit it.

IC:
More the carriers emptied their flight decks, lofting thefull spectrum of Mondothian Fighters, everything from PC-12 UCAVs to AF-39 surface attack fighters. light and agile SF-19 fighters and deadly SX-24's the non carriers launched VF-12 VTOL aircraft which stayed low and began carrying out their primary mission, using a variety of systems the 'Gulls' were primarily ASW aircraft, equiped with FLIR and MAD submarine detection systems, Mk-91 ADCAP air launched anti submarine torpedoes and a small reserve of self guided air to air missiles. while the air battle was going on the mondothian ships began to back away from the crippled Kaiser fleet. when the Polarstern's massive cannon fired, hitting one of the AWACs and takings its powerful radar out of the equation the Mondothian fleet quickly accelerated away from the battle, firing increaseingly long ranged missiles back towards the enemy fleet.

Meanwhile Off the coast of Verghastinsel:

The Harris class amphibious assault ships had snuck in, using a variety of means and the distraction offered by the main Mondothian battle fleet to escape attack from the superior Kaiser Martens forces. Supported by only 24 mixed Sahars and Gobi's against the possibilty of an intercept by Verghastinsel's small navy the fleet began to move quickly towards the port of Jamental, originally the landing force was supposed to arrive at an empty stretch of coast but with the Free and United attack to that port Mondoth Command had decided to send aid to the tune of a Reinforced Offensive Legion. The Fleet was now only a few hours away.

While flying above Martens' fleet, Mondothian aircraft were detected (OOC: I still don't know how the hell they got behind Martens... maybe you should explain). The Szellems quickly lowered altitude, flying close to Martens ships while the Lenneth-ms shot 5 Blitzlicht AA missiles in a wide angle towards the Mondothian swarm (these missiles hit the nearest aircraft detected and the guidance is improved by the Odinsauge and the Martens sensors - we're all above them). Meanwhile, the fast and maneuverable Komet.05m-s, repeadetly shooting laser-grid guided missiles at both sides of the swarm, encircling your planes. At this time, the stealthy Gripen-IIs have spread over the sky and began to shoot massive volleys of missiles guided by the Odinsauge and the heat emissions resulting from your planes trying to outmaneuver the missiles.

OOC: In case you haven't noticed Odinsuage is mostly junk at this point (not sure exactly how well it suvived multiple gigawatts of RF energy but it probably was not much) and my fighters never got behind Martens forces.

IC: The Szittyaorszaag air forces were not entirely unexpeted but the totality of their attack had not been expected. Most Mondothian aircraft had a fair amount of stealth capabilities, espescially the SF-41's and SX-24's. and all but the AF-39's enjoyed many improvements in maneuverability over conventional designs. in a normal engagement the fighters could simply out maneuver the missiles but with the way the battle was set up and the number of enemy missiles that was not possible. instead the fighters pored the sky full of chaff and flares, maneuvering as best they could to open air while firing off volleys of self guided missiles and AWACs guided missiles. the AF-39's not hving the maneuverbity or ceiling of theother fighters tried to lose themselves in ground feed (Radar distortion at levels close to the surface) while igniting their powerful jamming systems to keep enem missiles off while firing loads of anti shipping missiles towards the Martens fleet. The SF-41s were in their element, they combined a matchless maneurabilty with imaginative weapons and avionics designed to give them an edge in dogfight situations. These included rear firing missiles that could be configured as either self guiding or HARM (anti radar missiles) depending on whether the enemy was trying for a missile lock or not. The SF-19 fighters were also designed for these kinds of situations, their directional thrust system allowed a slow speed that could only be matched by a VTOL aircraft and it allowed them to maneuver almost in-place and their light agile design was made for the tight spaces of massive air battles. The SF-37's were less well suited to this type of combat but were armed to the teeth. The SX-24's were silent killers, slightly less maneuverable than SF-41's they were better armed and more stealthy than just about any other fighter. armed like the legendary F-15's these fighters had the advantage in altitude, using methane injecting turbojets allow these fighter to reach altitudes previously reserved for high altitude spyplanes.

The Mondothian fleet trying to sneak by would have expected their movements to go unnoticed, or unhampered by the current chaotic battle, but another fleet, rather, four fleets would remain hidden, but directly in the way of the amphibious landing forces way...Surface warefare was too old, far limiting was it to a country's ever-growing military might. What else was left for one to do?..Why take to the skies of course, and the currents beneath the wavering surface.

The Sovereignty's High-orbit sattelite networks had been eyeing the situation the entire time, gathering precise, pinpointed information on who was doing what. And with prior agreements, already had deployed their fleets off all western coasts. Only now did they think to act.

The Supercavitation technology presented earlier was of the Sovereignty's own discovery, kindly given out to its neighbors for mutual protection purposes. And while the processes between Sovereignty SC torpedoes and KM SC Torpedoes were similair, The Sovereignty posessed a greater budget, and more in-depth layouts to enhance the capability and effectiveness of such a weapon.

Only a single fleet of four BT Submarines and six IA Submarines were actively moving, positioning themselves for the incoming Mondoth fleet. The other three were idle on the bottom, in black out mode. The three submerged fleets SC compliment were different, they'd still go at the same immense speeds, straight upwards, but upon drastic pressure decreases(ie coming out of the water), the HE shell would detonate and release hordes of fair sized(by naval standards) chunks of metal. Although the damage recieved upon a hit would be far greater.

The moving fleet obtained a broadside position and the side torpedo tubes sprung alive, belching pockets of air twenty feet outwards as in total, around One-Hundred to One-Hundred and Fourty supercavitating torpedoes were launched, aimed straight down the mondoth landing forces throat(aka Head on)

The first of three idling fleets were becoming increasingly close to the incoming fleet, and if they continued on their current course, or a course changed by 30 degrees, opening season shots would be fired, and if need be, guided torpedos would be switched with standard supercav ordnance for additional accuracy.

and Soviet, where did you come from? how did you get the course for my amphibious assault force (which is actually not even following the course it was originally going to anyway) and, if you recently moved or moved at all since my forces entered the war how did you avoid being detected by my submarine fleet (which was introduced the same time the rest of my forces were but I haven't done anything with them 'cuse I was waiting for Nord, but if you want to play subs with me then be aware that my forces in the area easily outnumber the forces you've declared, heck, even just the subs with the invasion force out number you, I play big with surface toys but my navy is like an iceberg, theres more underneath the surface)

if you want to know, my invasion force is being escorted by 2 SSGN's (guided missile subs), 12 SSN Hunter killer subs and 8 SSK fast defense subs, and thats just whats below the surface (which is admittedly more impressive than whats above but an air launched ADCAP, a ship launch ADCAP and a sub launched ADCAP will ruin a subs day equally)

OOC - Well I guess Verghast explained most of it. Oh and those manual guns should manage decent accuracy because prior to the disruption they were pointing in the right direction. When your things move though, it'll be different.

Well, the OA system is a great network of sattelites with the highest technology. It has a great variety of precision scanners which enable them to follow the battle with ease, and the different scanners serve to avoid confusion of stealth techniques such as the one used by your fleet. It also has each one 6 Kaiserreich Nuclear Missiles which can hit all types of targets, though they're reserved to hit only other missiles unless it is an emergency. To function it has Downlinks towards the units of the Reichswehr and also another one to a central computer deep within the ground somewhere in the Silberunion. It all works in synchrony and ussually perfectly, and it can pretty much detect anything that actually is there and exists, there's no known way to hide from it. It does have several limitations, but I will not explain them to you because that, well, it'd weaken us.

IC: Martens continued to have the ships fire, although they had now become simply drifters, exepting the Polarstern and the submarines. He sighed at the loss of that many material and decided that it was time to get serious. He called towards Arco of Arcognus who had his and the Protektorat of Byzantinia's fleet ready to move. He gave green light and they began heading for the battle. As well Martens summoned the smaller fleet of his SSLS Kaiser Martens (SS Leibstandarte) AND the remaining 70% of his Kriegsmarine, plus the fleet of Vanek Krieg, who had entrusted OOC his lands to him until he returns. The Polarstern, in the mess of the battle, departed the place to meet up with the Main Fleet, it's speed as good as Mondoth's ships. The Submarines stayed with the half broken fleet, who continued to fire, willing to fight until their last breath, just like Mondoth had been doing, miraculously managing to still exist, and the 14 Frigates from Verghastinsel came to join the remaining fleet, as the whole Reich and many of the Silberunion allies prepared for a brutal attack.

Also, Martens got tired and mobilized the whole of his Luftwaffe as well as Byzantinia's and SSLS Kaiser Martens, while asking Arco to do alike. Let's see the enemy survive this one.

Also, Martens gave Odins Forgiven's wolf troops a lift towards Urelia to fight the enemy in the ground. "Go get em, Elvi!"

(You know what Mondoth, Put that stuff in your damn description the first time, instead of pulling shit out of your ass, and for further referance, My ships are by default stationed around the region, its part of the regional defense agreement, and if you cant expect us to cooperate, tough luck, take your shipoutofass pulling somewhere else. As for outnumbering me, You see the size of the fleets? Did you see how many torpedoes were being launched? Does that say anything? Like maybe the sizes between our submarines are different? Either way, a minute and a half more of movement and your ships will recieve swarms of moder-supercav torpedoes from under you, not to mention continuous barrages from over 500meters away. Yes, I said moder

Thats all I want to say oocly, this is an RP war, not a flame war, get the show on the road people)
Mondoth
10-06-2005, 03:33
OOC: Sorry about not mentioning but My fleets are well defended from the submarine side by default and sometimes I forget to mention things like that (damn ADD) oh well, bigger subs=bigger targets, the Typhoon class was the largets the world had seen at the time (still is in RL) but even with double hulls a pair of MK-48 would've sent one to the bottom with all hands, also, you could have mentioned that your ships were positioned around the region by default instead of acting like they just sort of appeared there. BTW: What exactly s a moder super cav and how is it superior to a regular supercav?

IC: "Torpedo's inbound, all decoys deployed, anti torpedos away, all hands brace for impact!" the string of words was shouted across the fleet which immeddiately scattered to avoid the supercavs limited maneuverabilty, the submarines had already gone into evasive maneuvers and were returning fire with 88 MK-110 ADCAP torpedoes, not as fast as the supercavs they were visciously maneuverable and could avoid almost any decoy and counter almost every trick that could be thrown at them. they also possessed much larger warheads. After the initial wave of Supercavs a few of the ships were heavily damaged and one of the assult ships was making its way quicly towards the bottom. from that ship a single landing craft emerged and made its way towards the closest ship. the ships also responded to the sufbmarine attack, ASW helicopters and Gull VTOL fighters were launched and began seeking subs with FLIR, MAD and in the case of the helicopters, dipping sonars. any enemy sub found would quickly be the target of a pair of MK-90 air launch ADCAP torpedos.

The Submarine fleet was ready, as if percieving that now was the time to strike the fleet stirred as one monstrous sea creature, torpedoes were loaded and the engines began emanating the electromagnetic field that made them run. coming to a depth more reasonable fro combat purposes the subs bagan moving again towards Urelia.

OOC: My fleet was already moving which is why I said that the accuracy would suffer.

Meanwhile Te fleet at Urelia was accelerating quicly away from the Kaiser fleet, quicly retreating, now as it began leaving artillery range less and less missiles were fired, instead the VLS cells were loaded with anti air missiles, awaiting the storm of enemy aircraft on its way.

Mondoth 02:00

Under the cover of darkness Elvi and her pack have parachuted into enemy territory.
Obviously not expecting this, they have met with no resistance.

(OOC assuming this as you have replied and have made no mention of our actions)

Having landed and regrouped the pack set about readying themselves for action.

As Elvi senses a presence behind her she takes the night vision binoculars away from her eyes and stares up at her second in command.
Even though she is tall herself (almost six foot in height), she still needs to raise her head to see him.
His pail skin and almost silver hair is almost all she can see of him as he nods his head slightly, signalling that all was ready and without words he hands Elvi his kit bag and begins to strip off his boots and coveralls and then his underwear, until he is naked in front of her.
She smiles and hands him an amulet which he places around his neck, then she watches in fascination as the transformation takes effect.
Twisting and contorting the young mans body he allows the lycanthropy that flows through his veins mould and reform him. His face becoming beast like and chest enlarging as it covers itself in a thick matt of grey and sliver hair, legs and arms contracting and extending, until finally, golden eyes gleaming, he stands before her as a huge male werewolf.

With a guttural growl from deep within his chest, he shakes himself and walks on all fours towards her, rubbing his powerful head on her thigh.
She strokes his head and speaks quietly.

“It does not matter how many times I see this transformation, I am always in awe of it and you my friend are the most handsomest beast of them all.”

Without further word, she bends and undoes his kit bag and takes out the kevlar body armour inside and begins to fit it onto him. With extra protection around the neck and chest, the custom made armour fits like a glove and satisfied that all is secure she stands.

“Right, you know what you and the pack have to do?”

He drops his head and snarls in answer.

“Good...I want it totally destroyed, go for communications first then when you have dealt with the personal I want every piece of equipment destroyed down to the last nut and bolt, that includes rockets, weapons and planes....the whole lot....and no survivors....lets see how this will stir them up.”

He nuzzles her hand for a moment then turns and is gone.
Elvi turns back to her watch and lifting her binoculars back up to her eye she watches the air base.

Mondoth 05:30

In almost all parts of the country, people are rudely awoken by the sounds of explosions as ‘soft targets’ are taken out.
The scouts and undercover operatives, sent in by Odin’s forgiven previously, had been busy laying devices at strategic positions.

OOC there are thirty groups of three working together in the manner of the SAS and were dropped into and landed on Mondoth about ten days ago, there objective is to cause as much chaos and panic amongst the populace by choosing ‘soft targets’ and to disrupt communications as much as possible. They have been doing this for the last 7(?) Days and have set timed devices to explode for several days to come and have now ‘gone to ground’ to await further orders.

Cities began to loose lights as generating relay stations are damaged, gas and water supplies cut and most of all much of the telecommunications networks wiped out, including television and radio masts.
The rudely awoken population of several large cities are plunged into panic as they find that they are literally in the dark, causing chaos on the roads and streets.
The Police have difficulty in sustaining law and order as opportunists begin to loot shops and burglarise homes and the many traffic accidents clogging up the roads.
Terrified homeowners begin to barricade themselves into their homes, desperately trying to get information from the few remaining radio stations left broadcasting.

Military Air force base somewhere in Mondoth 06:30

The unit sent to find why there has been no contact with the base stand silent amidst the carnage. Most grey with shock, some wiping their mouths after throwing up, all are speechless as they look around at the shredded and torn bodies of the staff and personal.

The officer in charge looks on uneasily and retches as he realises that the sticky mess he is standing in is the guts and entrails of a disembowelled airman laying a short distance away from him.
Taking a deep breath and wiping his mouth on his sleeve he looks around the control room. By the amount of bullet holes and spent cartridges, they had put up a good fight, yet there was no sign of a dead attacker. The blood spattered communications equipment had been ripped out with force and destroyed.
He takes a closer look and sees what looks like claw and teeth marks in the torn and twisted metal cases

“Just like those in the wrecked planes outside” he mumbles to himself trying to make sense of it all.

A cold shiver runs up his back causing his skin to crawl and the hairs at the base of his skull to stand on end. He takes a last look around and turning leaves the buildings as soon as he can shouting to his men as he goes.

“Right! Everyone pull out! Leave everything as it is, there is no way we are going to deal with THIS one!”

A wooded area somewhere in the Mondoth countryside 08:30.

Elvi sits propped up against a tree.
Resting on her knee is the head of a sleeping werewolf, her second in command. Two others, both female, lay sleeping at her side, next to her newly acquired off road quad.
Biting into the apple she is holding she continues to stare at the horizon, not seeing much, just blankly staring, lost in thought.

“Now then my friends”, she speaks out loud, but to none in particular, “Where shall we go and play tonight?”

But the aerial attack never came. Instead a fleet twice as large as the one that had attacked Mondoth went towards the broken ships in a defensive manner and carried them home, also with aerial support. The Reich seemed to no longer seek agression, but the ships remained in full alert in case they'd try to attack again. In the south at the Frankland (Former France) the rest of the Multinational Fleet continued to assemble carefully, just in case. Apparently all of a sudden something else was concerning Martens.
Arcognus
11-06-2005, 01:13
Arco had come at the end of the battle as instructed...he would bring along his own, E-Gruppe's, and Byzantinia's naval forces. He had brought every last ship in aid just in case things were going badly. Unfortunately their own radar jamming equipment did not allow them to send out messages when it was up; and on the enemy rader there would seem to be huge black blots where the sea was supposed to be. Arco had been on one of the many ships, but there would be no way of telling which one. There were many massive ships in the area but surprisingly he had been on one of the smaller ones.

The first thing he had done was go to Frankland )(Hope that's the right area)( and he had contacted The Kaiser. Once the radar jamming was down, he was positive that it was safe. He had gotten one of the radio-operators to get the Odinsauge. Upon getting contact he would simply say. "We have arrived as requested."

)(Short and sweet. Also, Mondoth, a Moder is someone who cheats; to put it simply.)(

The Polarstern arrived safely where Arco was and Martens received the nation's leader to discuss the plans and the situation as many troops all across the great Reich and the Silberunion and even beyond gathered and organizing, becoming readier and readier.

"Open me a channel to Mondoth."

And the channel was open, with video. There stood Kaiser Martens with the flag of the Silberunion, his flag, and the flags of his Protectorates. They were quite a lot of flags after all. In the background softly sounded the anthem of Germany, Deutschland Über Alles. Arco sat aside Martens, before the Kaiser began speaking. "Greetings Leader of Mondoth. I am Kaiser Martens of the German Reich and this is The Great Arco of Arcognus. As you can see your fleet in the Silberunion waters has been defeated, although at a relatively high price. We have been the most disturbed by this and formally request for the remanent of your troops to be evacuated, and we request war indemnization for the damages you caused to our fleet and the citizens of the former Urelia in your attempt to "free" them. If you agree, it would be the best, so that we can avoid conflict. Please do send me a message in return so that there is no more need for bloodshed."

"Have a nice day." - Then Martens grinned, and the anthem became more audible as the amount of money was displayed at the end of the video. It wasn't an exxagerated amount, yet it was quite a lot. Later on, the image faded away along with the music, to black, then the transmission ended.

"Meh, if this guy doesn't gets the message he's freaking stupid....he has no chance against Silberunion as a whole." The leaders went back to the control room as the troops continued to be assembled here and there.

We are willing to consider your offer at this time. The Mondothian Government would like talks to be conducted in neutral territory and that until a descision is reached, a ceasefire be observed by all sides. However until a ceasefire is agreed upon, actions off the Vergahstinsel coast will continue first to defend Mondothian ships against the Soviet Sovereignty (hey now that I can think lucidly again, that's kind of an ironic name) and to ais our allies that have already made landfall. if at any time fireing ceases against both our ships and Free And United States forces, we will begin an ordered withdrawl.

OOC: Odins; I didn't know who you were attacking so I didn't respond, I'll accept your landing and attacking the airforce base, but you really should have TG'ed me that you had agents in my nation, assuming that all of your agents got through and placed their bombs without resistance and without consulting me is a bit of a GodMode (all right, a lot of a GodMode) if you had asked I probably would have let most of the attacks happen, but since you didn't consult me (or in any way tell me you were attacking at all until it hapened) I'm going to Ignore that section of post until we can come to some sort of OOC aggreement about it, to keep this going I'll just say that you were successful in many cities

IC: A muffled 'WHUMP' rebound along the city streets, bouncing off of the imposing sky scrapers of Mondoth's chief Business center at Port of Triumph. in a office building the lights shifted to a dim orange color a few seconds before the sound reached the occupents.
"What the hell just happened?" asked a main in a T-shirts and slacks
"Electricities out, we're on backups" the mans aid replied.
ANother man, this one dressed in Navy blues said hurredly "Sounded like a bomb at the relay!"
The man in a T-shirt grabbed a phone and punched a few numbers in. putting it to his ear he swore.
"Phones are dead."
the Naval officer ran into an adjacent room and grabbed a day-glo orang colored phone, he din't bother punching any buttons he just lifted it to his ear.
"yes, This is Survey and Mapping... Yes I'd like to speak to Internal Security." the operators at the oter end of the phone were busy, government offies in several cities were calling the Emergency government response phone system and requesting internal security. The result was a call on a red colored phone from the emergency phone response systems headquarters, a heavily armoured underground structure.
"This is the EGRPS, we have a situation." Immediatley sattelite signals went out to all armed forces in Mondoth, calls went outwhere ever regular phone service still existed and emergency cell towers were erected where it didn't. the reserves were called up as well as Mondoth's defense forces. Within hoursthe Mondothian homeland was closed to all travelers. The recently reduced homeland alert level was raised again and inactive radars and missile systems became active. Mondoth's emergencyresponse organs were slowly stirring, messages went out, radio towers and sattelite recievers were erected as necesary and all forms of mass communication carried the same message
"A national state of emergency has been declared, all persons currently within Mondoth are urged to return to your current residence immediately, Citizens of other countries are required to make your way to the nearest Immigration office for details on what actions should be taken during this emergency. A national Security hotline has been established at 1-800-555-0987, please call if you have any information regarding the incidents or if you saw any suspiscious person at the scene of any of the incidents int he last month. Until Further notice all major Mondothian cities will be governed under Martial Law." (Message repeats)

A few hours after the call outs had gone out, several explosions echoed over the Green Lake Air force base, it had been six hours since the initial alert had gone out and no one had entered the security override code. during national emergencies, at every air strip capable of supporting a military invasion a specific and unique code had to be entered every six hours or explosives in the airstrip would detonate to ensure that foreing forces could not use the strip to land troops or fly hostile aircraft. After the explosions a military forces was scrambled to the location, flying over in a C-204 Military transport, several boxes were dropped and followed down by four Gorrila AIFV's. The troops in the AIFV's immediately dismounted upon hiting the ground and furled the parachutes, runningover to the boxes, equiment was removed and quickly three 'skeet launchers' were set up. A few soldiers began hoisting Silent Crow type reconaisance drones onto the launchers and launching them. the medium sized (for a recon drone) disks flung out over the darkened wilderness surrounding the former airstrip and began searching for signs of insurgence.
OOC: Mondoth doesn't mess around when it comes to foereign attacks on its soil. your lucky its so paranoid about disease or the troops would be following plague bombs in. Also, for clarification, I'd like to know more about your werewolves, what kind of special abilities they have and what weaknesses so that I can more effectively RP their affect on my troops when the two forces meet.

OOC....
Firstly:
YOU accuse ME of godmoding?
I stated on THIS thread on 25.05.05 that I was sending people in.
You, as you do with many, chose to ignore it and continued as though everything that has/is said is wrong because it does not work out your way.
Perhaps you should have TG'd me?

Secondly:
In the usual way in which you choose to play, you have produced a huge long diatribe about what I should of done and why you are ignoring it, then have posted a long IC reply not ignoring it.

Your roleplaying is, at best poor and at worst questionable.

I would appreciate it if you would tell me.

Which part of my post you are going to 'ignore'.

Which part of my post you intend to reply to.

And what you see fit to say has actually happened?
(Your reply that is not a reply seems to infer that my 'sas' have targetted the military, I clearly stated that they were 'soft' civilian targets)
I deliberatly left that part as sketchy as possible so that you COULD inform me whether these actions had been succesful or not and only gave specifics on the attack on the air base.

Oh and the lycanthropes are werewolves, pure and simply werewolves.
The only difference being that they have lightweight kevlar armour to protect 'sensitive points' and have an amulet that allows them to stay in there lycanthropic form for as long as they wish.
So I suggest that you do your homework and YOU find a way top stop them, or they'll rampage through your country until there's not a soul left alive.

Yours,
One very pigged off Elvi

OOC: just a sec, you did what on 25/05/05, cause I was just reading through the thread again and there's a post by Kaiser on 23/05/05 and then the VERY next post is also by Kaiser and is dated 26/05/05. The only reference I can find to your attack before it actualy happened is on 09/06/05 and doesn't even refer to who your attacking.
on 18/05/05 you said "Marty dear, those Mondothian's are being nasty and threatening us.
(She relays their message to him)
"Now that's not nice is it? I have a hankering for a little more harrassment of their ground troupes than I was intending, could you organise those nice shiny birdies again for us and a descrete drop off point?"
I guess this could be a reference to the attack but at this point I hadn't even landed ground troops (and I still haven't) so how you could want 'a little more harrassment of [my] ground troops' I don't know b/c there wasn't any harrassment to begin with.

also on GodModing and bad Rping, I direct you to Jaxusisms guide to Terrorism

1) Communication

OK, lets face it people, Nation 1 doesnt want to wake up and find out Nation 2 has set off a "n00k" in their nation. Nation 3 doesnt want to find out Nation 4 has set off a car bomb and killed the President of Nation 3's nation.

Which is why you should find out a way to get into contact with the nation your attacking. I dont care whether its by TGs, IRC, AIM, MSN, Y, or ICQ, as long as you get communication.

Once you do, come up with an answer to these :

a. What am I using to attack you? (Compromise with the attacked. Be creative. Be original.)
b. How am I going to get the stuff into your nation? (Compromise again. This is simple. Unless the nation doesnt allow in anybody, getting in is easy. The thing is, how am I going to get the things I am using into your nation? And will you find some if not all of it?)
c. What are my target(s)? (Not your choice, his. But for the people being attacked, dont make it lame. No one wants to spend their time on a descriptive post to kill 5 embassy workers and make 1 building crumble.)
d. How should I get to doing these things? (Driving a car in and setting off a bomb? Planting the bomb somewhere and setting it off? Theres all sorts of ways one item could be used against a nation. This is the fun part, because good RPers will let you ruin their economy, take out their government, etc etc etc and if you can figure out a great way to do it. Make it very interesting.)
e. Is my attack going to fail or succeed? (Dont be a 500-time succeeder, you need to fail in an attack every once in a while. Maybe only half your attack succeeds and the rest is stopped.)

Then you can write up the post. I usually try to write as much as I can, and be so descriptive. Then you TG it to the guy, he makes any edits necessary, he TGs it to you, you look over it, and then post it.
that thread can be foundHere (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=366018) and is a great resource for insurgent actions of ANY kind (Like I don't know, sending teams in to blow stuff up).
I'm easy to contact, I believe that both my AIM screenname and my email address are publicly available in relation to my nation and you can easily TG me through NS's own message service

I don't see where I even imply that you were attacking anything but civilian targets but anytime you start blowing up power, gas, and communications systems of any kind don't you think the military just maybe could notice and don't you think possibly that if you ran a country and all of a sudden there were explosions and cut off's of vital services in widespread cities throughout your nation that you might want to declare a national state of emergency and call up the military to keep order?

Here's the deal, you godmoded, you assumed your attack was completely successful without even mentioning any defenses and security I might or might not have at the targetted facilities. The fact that my RPing style is mystifing (I don't see how you confuse my OOC comments and my RPing) or the fact that you don't like the way I play or ny of that stuff has ANY bearing on the fact that YOU Godmoded. if you don't want to RP with me then Don't, I don't care thats your perogative but DON'T take it out on me by effectively shutting down all of my cities without even a single OOC warning, in all likelihood I would have accepted the attack entirely if you had even once said that you were going to do it, but you didn't and thats called godmoding, and even though I might flirt with that from time to time I NEVER assume ANYTHING about the effectiveness of an attack and in my terrorist attacks (I have a terrorist puppet) I always describe how my people and equipment got into the nation, and I always TG the target before hand to get permission and to work out the details of the attack down to how many of my agents survive and how effective their attacks are.
I'm not forcing you to RP with me but if you want to I will force you to play by the rules
BTW: what are you refering to when you say plain old lycanthropes, in five minutes I could hand you a list of descriptions of plain old lycanthropes that includes at least thirty different strengths, forty or fifty specific weaknesses, at least a hundred physical description and a scattering of descriptions on their actual vulnerabilty to various damages and the effects of various charms and materials ont heir well being. thats why I asked YOU to tell me because otherwise I might go with a description that you wouldn't like. Never assume someone knows what your talking about, be it weapons, strategies, animals, chemicals or armor or anything else, ecause chances are they have a completely different idea than yours.
Odins Forgiven

There is no where in my last post that states I shut down all of your cities.
I described the inpact it had on one, then left it open for you to decide.

I set off bombs, I didn't even specify how many, leaving it for you to decide where and what had been damaged.

The only place where I was specific over what had happened was at the air base. Which, given the fact that two hundred Lycanthropes had over run it and taken them un awares, it is fare to assume that they were decimated.

Yeah OK, so I didn't follow the guidlines (which are what they say and not legal binding laws) and contact you with a TG, so sue me.
BUT every single other of those guide lines apply to my posting.

So why don't you stop belly aching and roleplay?

And as you are so confused by the werewolves lets make it simple eh?

They are seven feet tall in their 'human form'.

In their 'wolf' form they are twice the size of a normal wolf and can stands on their hind feet, but prefer all fours and have the strength to match.

They can be killed by the use of silver. (A silver sword or blade will seriuosly hurt them but will not kill them unless it is left in their body, so silver bullets and arrow/crossbow heads san kill unless it is shot straight through the body.)

They can be killed by decapatation and obviuosly of they are blown to pieces.

They are kept in their lycanthropic state by the use of an amulet (as described) which is kept around their necks.

They are protected by strong bullet proof kevlar armour, with extra protection around the kneck and chest regions.

Fighting?
They use teeth and claws in lycanthropic state, everything that any other human would use in human form.

(And by the way, my operatives that went in last week are human, both men and women, sas trained working in groups of three.

Now you have all the info, lets just cut the crap and get on with it shall we?

"Allright then, I'm pleased that you considered our offer. I will not attack and I will ask my allies of the Silberunion to cease fire. You can send evacuation vehicles and any troops you may have will be dispatched with no further damage if this is agreed. We will move civilian vehicles to place buoys to be followed so that an accident that may trigger deaths won't happen. This will become effective as of tomorrow if that's allright. Northern Nation States' fleet will be also sent coordinates to return safely without further conflict to their waters. I look forward to hearing your final decision"

Then it was sent.

Martens now turned to inform his allies of the Silberunion of the situation, so that no more shots would be fired unless fired at first...

Your offer is accepted, We would still like to meet and discuss exact reparations and the fate of Urelia if possible and possibly the attacks on our homeland last night, The populace feels there may be a link between the attacks and our war so it is our belief that the quicker we can discuss it and make sure that none of the Silberunion commited this terrorism the better.

OOC: They aren't just guidlines, they make the RP more enjoyable for ALL involved, and I'm not saying the attacks themselves were GodMode but simply the fact that you had so many operatives in my country doing illegal things without telling me that they were there, how they got there, how they got explosives and all that, realistically internal security would have cought at least some of them. Also, I don't see whats so simple about Lycanthropes, I googled werewolves and the first page of results alone had about a dozen different and equally authentic werewolf descriptions, thanks for letting me know what you were using there.

OOC: See what happens when you don't comunicate? If this had been done properly I would have all the information I needed for this. To post my next move I want to know more about the agents you had in my country, how they are equipped, what sort of cover they have, how many work in each group, the sort of thing it would be useful to have to RP my internal security Catching up with a group of your agents. To keep this going, I'll start it off.

"Sir, This is the ISA, we'd like you to come with us." The Odins agent had unwittingly walked straight into the trap, everywhere he looked, previously inncoent passers by and civilians were showing well concealed handguns, not enough that a casual observer would notice, but just enough bulge in the right places that a trained eye could pick out the lines of PG-11 sidearms. the single uniformed offier had his hand on the grip of his own sidearm.
"Sir, You are under arrest, The Mondothian government has waived all rights you may or may not have, Your presence in this country is no longer documented and any evidence of your arrival erased. ANy resistance will be met with appropriate force and will be punished upon arrival to a non public place. Sam looks around him, inwardly cursing himself for not noticing the trap.
He mumbles something, into his throat mike Rumbled....plan B.....

Turning and looking the Uniformed officer in the eye he smiles.
"Indeed I seem to be well and truely arrested."

Sam raises his hands putting them behind his head and steps forward, his smile becoming a wide grin.
"See you in hell?"

The cord pulled in his sleeve, immediately triggers the plastic explosives sewn into his jacket.

As the sound of the explosion echos through the city, two more are heard.
One, near by, the other further into the city centre.

(Yet again, the operatives of Odins Forgiven are both male and female. They have been trained as the British SAS are. They specialise in infiltration, dissruption and terrorism. As infiltrators, they would be dressed as the general population so as to blend in more. Their equipment? They will beg, borrow and steel any thing they can find and use, they will make explossives from household cleaners and detonators from radios and mobile phone if they need to.)

A man in an office across the stree watched the explosion with distaste, such a waste of human life. turning away from the approaching sirens of disaster response vehicles he picked up a phine and dialed. "Tell all agents to be careful, targets may be wired with explosives." adn then he hung up and left the office, worming through the people crowding towards the window to see what had happened.

The message was recieved at ISA central dispatching and was forwarded to all agents. In the field agents modified their plans accordingly. many of the groups had not yet been identified but a few had been cracked wide open and the agents were just waiting for an opportunity to strike.
For the next 'arrest' agent Kim Philky was the lead, she had much experience dealing with the Naveira situation, but the Naveirans hadn't blown themselves up. She decided on a more covert approach. Kim made some calls and in a few minutes a small packet marked with the biohazard symbol and 'refills' and a nice pen were delivered to her desk. picking them up and refamiliarizing herself with the procedures involved, she took a capsule from the box, twisted the pen open and placed the capsule in the appropriate position. closing the pen and putting both it and the box into her coat pocket and called her trailing agents.
"Where is she now?"
"Twenty third and Ryan."
"Allright, I'm on my way, get an extraction team down there and make sure you keep wel out of sight, don't spook her."
"Gotcha boss."
The sedative in the pen injector was very fast acting and very powerful, even in the minute pen doses it could kill, but that was okay, a dead body could still tell where it had come from and what to a limited extent it had been doing, an exploded body couldn't.

Reaching her destination, she spotted one of the plainclothes reading a newspaper on a bench. Following his gaze he wasn't looking at the target. but looking slowloy around the area she found her anway. Suddenly groping in her inside coat pocket as if trying to grab a ringing phone she palmed the pen and pulled out her cellphone, looked at the blank caller I.D. box and disdainfully put it back in her pocket, leaving the pen concealed in her hand. Continuing to walk towards the target casually. As soon as she was in range Kim jostled her target just enough for the now activated pen injector to dig lightly into the soft thigh flesh of her target and unload the sedative. It would feel just like a small bug bite but before she took another step she would be unconscious or dead. Kim apologized quickly and hurried on her way. In a few seconds the extraction team would arrive and carefully remove the target to an appropriate facility for interrrogation or autopsy.

*As Odin's fourth victim crumpled to the floor and young man, dressed smartly in a business suit intercepts Kim.
Unexpectedly, he greats her wamly, putting his arms aound her as a lover would, holding her close he whispers into her ear.*

"She my dear, was my wife."

*Holding her closer still, almost squeezing the breath from her, he detonates his bomb.

In the panic and confusion that follows, a young girl, hair in braids and dressed in the uniform of the local High School walks slowly away casually swinging her duffle bag as she goes.*

Every agent that had gone after one of Odins operatives had initiated an explosion. but until now they had been playing mostly fair. It was time for a new game.

The apartment complex was a fairly standard high rise affair, probably home to any number of no goods and criminals. but right now nobody cared about them. it was dark adn various means had ensured that the target was in his appartment. That was all the go ahead the team needed. several treicks were ready for this operation but the first one was critical. An EMP device had been smuggled in a briefcase under cover of dark to the room just below the targets. at the signal the device was activated frying electronics in the whole building. the next was a ringof precisely timed, EMP shielded shaped charges in the room just above the target. as soon as the electronics were out they blew a hol from one apartment to the one under it. as soon as the whole was open four elite J-force soldiers dropped down, following a set of Flash Bang grenades into the room, as soon as they were down a less lethal but just as effective variant of the toxin Kim had planned to use loaded into darts and fired by four Steyr ACRs were fired into the target, then he was hoisted through the whole in the roof and disapeared to an interogation chamber.

Mondoth, my operatives were given the order to pull out, why would one be in an apartment?
*sigh*
Up till now they have been caught "on the street" and I have assumed followed as they have broken cover, but 'at home'?
Ah well, take him.....*shrugs*

Elvi opens a channel, not even bothering to shield it in any way.

"Mondoth, up until your agents began to attempt capture of my people there were no civilions injured in their attacks, you are now telling me that I am the terrorist? My operatives are more visible to you because I have ordered them to withdraw.
Leave them alone and they will come home."

Dropping the radio to the ground, leaving the channel open, she turns the ignition on her borrowed bike.
Revving the engine as she snicks it into gear, she checks behind her and seeing a clear space re-enters the motorway traffic.

OOC: you said they were breaking cover and returning but then you never correlated it, I have no idea what your doing, We seriously need better communication for this too work

IC:
"Sir, SR-009 has something, looks like a pack of dogs and a quad, that radio signal was coming from the general vicinity."

"All right, move out."

At the commanders order the makeshift camp was struck in a matter of minutes and packed into the AIFV's. In less than half an hour the four Gorrillas were on the move following the heavily disguised and encrypted signal of the Silent crow stealth recon drone designated SR-009, following the 'dogs' and the quad runner.

Oh please, do me a favour.....

I have just pulled out into traffic on a BIKE
And you have me on a QUAD with a 'pack of dogs'.???

Give me some credit, I'm hardly going to have a pack, (of any size), of werewolves following me am I?

You are the only one of rather a lot of players I am and have played with in this forum and off, that is having any sort of trouble with the way I post and play. I think the problem here is that you don't actually read what has been said.

I will post later, assuming I can be bothered and will be ignoring the fact that your stealth drone has seen 'dogs'

All right, I've thought about it, This RP isn't going anywhere fast, I'm not having fun, I'm pretty sure you're not having fun, lets just close it down, if you want we can restart with better communication but otherwise I'm finished with this, I've got an invasion to deal with and a defense to manage
