Ostkanada secedes, looking for trading partners and allies

Ostkanada

The Free Land of Ostkanada has declared independence from the authoritarian power that is the Corporate Authority of Bahbland.

The Corporation has peacefully relinquished it's hold on Ostkanada, in exchange for several billion Bahbers.

If you are looking for a leader, you will not find one. We, the people, are our leaders. We are men who have created a nation of complete freedom; free to do whatever we please (as long as it does not harm another,) and free of a government that taxes and regulates. No safety nets are here to catch you if you fall. Whether you succeed or fail is your decision.

We seek allies and trading partners. Ostkanada sits upon vaste amounts of ores. Ores we would happily barter with.

However, now that the Corporation has retired all but it's economic ties with our Nation, we are but a young bird crying out in a forest of wolves. Our military is primarily outdated Bahbian equipment and civilian vehicles.

We wish to know what you are interested in trading for that ore.

The Republic of Verghastinsel would be willing to trade armaments for natural resources. Verghastinsel Armaments, a government-owned company, manufactures modern, high quality weaponry and equipment.

We are interested in large amounts of grain and rubber. It is too cold to grow here.

Weapons wise, we require defense vehicles; SAM's, ECM's and AS missiles. Our air contingent right now is primarily seaplanes (we are a maritime nation,) trainers, and a few Bahbian Air Corps Gripens, among others.

But our real strength lies in the fact that there is a ratio of about 1:1 of guns to people. Invaders would be hard pressed to not come under attack.

We see vehicles that have no purpose other than warfare wasteful. What do you do with them when you are not at war? Our patrol planes, for example, serve as water bombers, transports, and freighters when not on military call.

We would be interested in trading foodstuffs for metallic ores, iron and aluminum prefered. As to the question of military only vehicles, we could provide troop transports that could be doubled as public transportation.

Request for Trade Contract

Proposed Partner: The Free Land of Ostkanada

Section 1 - The Republic of Total Victory wishes to initiate a trade contract with Ostkanada. The Republic is prepared to offer twenty thousand tons per month of rubber and forty thousand tons per month of Victory Stew (a highly nourishing gelatin-like substance of a slightly sweet-sour flavor manufactured by methods kept closely secret) in exchange for an equal market value worth of iron ore.

Section 2 - If Ostkanada wishes to participate in such an exchange, it shall have to abide by the terms of Total Victory's General Victory Directive (Article I). Ostkanada's designated port for mercantile activity in Total Victory is Port Pierre on Shipyard Two. Ostkanadian merchant vessels may only dock at Shipyard Two or face prosecution for piracy. Crewmembers of these merchant vessels may not leave the designated merchant zones in Port Pierre or face prosecution.

Section 3The Republic also wishes to extend aid in the design and construction of coastal radar stations and SAM batteries, and the sale of short and intermediate range conventional ballistic missiles. This transaction shall be determined by separate negotiation with the Ministry of Peace.

First, we'd like to thank every national representative for their support.

We would be happy to conduct trade between all nations. As we speak, courier planes are being sent out with representatives aboard, to close the deal with a handshake.

Theao - Magnetite (Iron) and bauxite (Aluminum) for multi-role public transports and foodstuffs. Would you like to trade based on market value?

Letharn - We see no need for tariffs! Beef for ores. Market value?

Credonia - We thank you for this exclusive offer of support, but we must decline help without repayment. If you help us, you will be getting something material in return. Sorry, just the way we are. ;)

Total Victory - Iron ore for foodstuffs and defenses at market value. One thing that we must mention; all of our merchant vessels are armed. Most of the crew are armed too (it depends on that particular company's policy.) If this is a problem, please let us know! We would not like for an incident to stain what could be a great trade alliance.

Negotiations with the Authoritarian Father Bahbland have proved successful; their Mercenary forces will be teaching classes in Ostkanada. The men that can afford these classes will teach more men, who will teach more men.

Again, we thank you for the support.

Merchant armaments should not arouse trouble unless these persons should choose to resist a boarding or inquiry as outlined in Article I of Total Victory's General Victory Directive. (ooc: see sig)

The Letharn goverment is overjoyed such a wonderful arangement could be met. We will begin shipping beef as soon as possible. We look forward to a great future of trade with the people of ostkanda.
In the spirit of that friendship we would like to formerly request permission for branches of Letharn buisnesses to operate within Ostkanda. Regardless of your response to that proposition we are happy to work with you.
Sincerly,

Letharn - Please do! Would you allow Ostkanadian Companies into your land? We're sure many agricultural companies would love the longer growing season of a warmer nation.

Mondoth - We would be happy to exchange embassies with your nation. Wiring construction information now. We've not really considered the format our embassies should take. We'll be sending four vehicles (30 ambassador volunteers, 2 cars, 2 Unimogs, 10 police, 2 lightly armed transport helicopters.)

Total Victory - We will comply with your trade laws when in your nation's waters. (ooc: aha! got the sig lines activated!)

Credonia - Okay. But we're still sending things in return. "TANSTAAFL" is our other flag.

Letharn would welcome Ostkanada companies, as long as their operators obey or laws when in our land.
We would also like permission to set up a small embassy, ten guards, three ambassadors, and a motorpool of civilian cars. With your permission, there would also be a single lightly armed heliocopter there. This embassy would, of course, be in you capital city.
We would welcome an Ostkanada embassy in our capital if you'd like to return the favor.

Your embassy is allowed. Whether vehicles and men are armed or not makes no difference to us. Guns are tools. Big guns are bigger tools. At a typical town meeting, 1/3rd of the attendants are carrying weapons. It makes for a polite society.

Our embassy in your nation will follow the same format as the embassy in Mondoth (provided this is okay with your people.)

Our companies would obey the laws of your land; the contrary is bad for business.
