New Space Hulk Enters Neutral Space. (Future tech open RP)

ic> The vast areas of neutral space had been silent for many years. No one had violated it. Nothing had happened that was given any attention by Gronde observers, until now. No one knew how it got there. A massive object was detected in neutral space. There was nothing around it, it appeared to be drifting. It was also ten-fold larger than most ork hulk encountered by the Imperial Navy.

Its arrival caught the interest of the AoN high command. There was nothing that they liked more than new fortresses, and this space hulk was a fortress and needed to be claimed.

Chapter Master Kalath: We must send a naval division to claim this anomaly.
Supreme admiral Enjire IV: It is in neutral space, that would be against international laws.
Kalath: But if we don't take action soon, someone else will. I will send a legion of Space Marines to investigate and capture it.
Enjire: How will we explain this to the other nations?
Kalath: We simply call it an investigative mission, not a military one.
Enjire: Then allow me to send a naval unit of my own as well as a research team.

Within hours, a 120 ship space marines fleet, a 110 ships Imperail Naval fleet, and 200 research ships Warped in near the Hulk.
Lost Felons

Steeler prepared himself for the job at hand, going over the notes again to make sure that he hadn't missed anything. His life wasn't much in comparison to those of a legitimate pilots running cargo ships for the corperations. Those men often had families, a moderate life style and maybe some credits left over for their hobbies and pleasures.

Steeler, on the other hand was something of a pirate, if that term could be used in his day and age. To make his daily bread he ran the occasional 'job', finding a poorly guarded transport ship and raiding it for everything it was worth. He rarely stopped to think about the lives he disrupted in doing this as the operation was as much of a life or death situtation for him as it was for the more legitimate pilot. The people back home would pay dearly for the goods he took, in return he could get food, narcotics and company to get high with. The corp loser that he stole from would probably get shouted at a little, maybe lose a bit of his wage (pilots were too valuable to fire over something like that) and the corperation would claim insurance on the lost goods. It worked most of the time.

As lives went, Steeler was almost on the bottom rung, wasting his days away with the cheap whores and synthahol. It hadn't always been like this, he was a young military man once, though that had all changed with Tir Tairngire, that place made a man out of you then rotted you away from the inside. It didn't matter to Steeler though, because he always tried to live in the moment, the moment when he jacked into his ship and started the run. From that moment he was an angel, almost at one with the ship as he flew through space with the sensors as his eyes and the engines as his wings. The trill of it excited many men like him to this profession, perhaps it was as old as they said it was; dating back to times when ships flew along the ocean surface and pilots used manual controls. It was almost a joke to think about it like that.

Steeler had finished making the preparations. The other men were now on board, these tattooed cyber-freeks were something like mercenaries. For a cut of the profits, agreed upon before the run took place, they would be the ships on board muscles. Their job was simple in many respects: they were the ones who entered the crafts with the loot in it and take the cargo out for selling back at Tir Tairngire. Any resistance empting to stop them would be 'taken care of' by these men who were all veterans in their chosen career path, their cybernetic replacements and augmentations combined with their expertise to form effecient musclemen. Steeler always made a point of hiring mercs from the people he trusted, knowing they would be honest to a degree and very proffessional.

His ship, the Novastorm was something of a heavy fighter out-fitted with a customised hyperspace drive based loosely on military craft from the empires he operated in. It's range wasn't much given the hyperspace drives size and power output, however the method it used allowed it to make multiple jumps which could be extended at lose of accuracy for those desperate measures. Once it had gotten into hyperspace it would be much harder to track as it would make a short jumps and change course again. The thrusters themselves were also quite nippy for a ship of it's type, combined with the dampening field made it was agile and quick. Unfortunately, this is where most of it's advantages stopped, the Novastorm wasn't designed for drawn out fire fights and could be overwhelmed easily by military grade fighter-craft. The armour of the Novastorm made it an easy kill if you could hit the thing. The counter-measures and jamming hardware on this ship allowed it to lag the targeting on weaker ships, making it harder to hit as false information would lead the weapons to target the wrong location.

Overall it was a nice set-up, it had taken it's share of beating but this operation would be routine. He had gotten word from a smuggler that there were rumours of a Space Hulk drifting down a set route, with the use of various active camouflage fields and false sensor outputs, some highly illegal peices of hardware installed on the ship, they would be able to masquerade as debris and part of the Hulk itself so that they could reach it without any serious conflict... the rumours were meant to be sound, Steeler hoped at least, as it was a trusted man he paid for the data. Still, something like that would have it's share of treasure for him and the men.

Without anymore delay, Steeler jacked into the Novastorm, instantly feeling the bliss of complete control of all the ships systems. He could detect the mercs in the back, who were in their own hold isolated from the rest of the ship... security measures were always important to a rigger like himself. Meanwhile, Steeler could feel the open space all around him, sensing all the stars with his sensors as though they were his own.

This was the moment he lived for... Steeler activated the hyperspace, the deep blue window opened up before the Novastorm and engulfed the ship as it was sent thought hyperspace towards the first waypoint.

OOC: Various technology fluff going on here really, but seeing as you've created the RP in such a way that it's meant to be open, then surrounded the Hulk with no less then 430 ships, I think it's fair for me to claim a single smart ship avoiding a fight... hell, with the amount of ships you've got around that thing it's not easy for anyone to write themselves into it, it's too dangerous for anyone to want to go to a hulk surrounded by so many Warhammer 40'000 ships, 120 of them Space Marines (which is pretty obcene).

You may want to reconcider how much you are sending in there any devide it by 50...

Anyways, only about 1 in 15 are the huge super capital ships. 2/15 would be cruiser class, 3/15 would be destroyers, and the rest escort class and logistics craft. This thread is also to attract militarily powerfull nations out to secure neutral space, but lone pirates are also welcome. More IC comming soon.

09-04-2005, 17:39
The Hammer navies first SD(p) group warped into sensor range of the hulk, they were not aware of the other ships surrounding it, but their information was almost a day old because of the hyper journey required to get to this place. The fleet support elements, composed of the CLACs and light cruiser screen, immediately deployed in a protective shell around the SD core as they began to shuffle into the wall of battle used by impeller drive ships. The CLACs disgorged their loads of LACs and rolled ship to impose their impenetrable impeller bands in case of enemy attack. The LACs were the light EW type, Ferrets, and the heavy assault type, Shrikes, about fifty of each to each of the dozen CLACs, they started towards the hulk under full stealth at a speed easily masked by their gravitic damping systems, the LACs were there to bring the pinnaces holding the marines into range of the hulk. The SD(p)s were finally arrayed in a wall of battle with the regular SDs and dreadnaughts towards the outer edges, the purpose of this configuration was for the eight SD(p)s to be able to deploy their missile pods to any unit in the fleet as necessary. The lighter support elements and battleships of Home Fleet had been detatched to take up screening positions in case of unknown presence around the hulk, it looked like they would be getting plenty of use out of them today.

IC: WHOOSH
The vast ship was racing through the warp. The skaven had been searching for this rumored hulk for years, often sighting it, but losing it because of gathering entities. But now, now it's in real space, where they could easily track it down. Irritatingly, Gronde had already found it, trying to acquire it would take some of Ditto's doublin' doo-das. Seeing as this hulk and its potential cargo was well wroth, one of Skaven Blights System-holding carriers was dispatched (stats are on DGNTs store, it is the super carrier). As escort for this beast, 5 Styx class heavy cruisers and 10 murder class cruisers.

All of these appeared just on the edge of radar as the skaven assessed the situation...

OOC: I don't plan on being aggressive with the super-carrier, I just want a BOP(base of operations), but if you attack it, well, you'll have several hundred sl....err.....ships....yeah...ships...

IC:

The LACs finally got close enough to the hulk to launch the tractored pinnaces full of marines towards the hulk, once there they were on their own. The marines were under the command of Major Armand Pahner, HMC and they were the toughest SOB's this side of the Cerberus system, they were going in in full powered armor and heavy weapons loadouts, they should be able to take out anything on board this hulk, including the other nations troops.

ooc> Don't count on faring too well if you end up fighting space marines.
Hmm, maybe a little space skirmish around the Hulk until others arrive.
Well, I've done my homework and got info on Honorverse. ;)

ic> "Sir, we have finished our analysis on the newly arrived vessels," staff officer Martin reported to Admiral Enjire. Enjire sighed and looked up.
"what is the report?"
"Well, it seems as though their hull armour is highly inferior to ours. However, they dreadnoughts and battleships are armed with powerfull and far reaching weapons."
"ok, and so are we," Enjire snapped. "What else?"
"Well sir," martin continued. "They shields appear to be very potent. From what my stealth scouts have observed, they appear to be gravity based wedges that could disperse or reflect most of our attacks."
"I see, so if it came to a fight and we tried to pound them with our capital ships, any victory we achieve would be at a great cost," Enjire admitted.
"But our fleet still outclasses theirs," the officer responded. "Based on shear numbers at least."
"But you see, the imperial navy is almost like a private enterprise to me. I can't afford to lose ships needlessly."
"What else can we do?"
"We can be smart. I think i have a plan. Hopefully, we wont need to use it." The officer nodded in agreement.
"Let us check on their movements." One of the observers looked up.
"Admiral, sir, I have an update!" he said urgently.
"Well, let's hear it," the admiral ordered.
"Well, sir, the Miehm fleet is continuing its approach towards the Hulk. It appears that they are even landing men."
"Damnit!" Enjire cursed. "Martin; inform The Horned Rat commander of the situation. Also, deliver the code orange to Gold Wing leader O'Donnel." He turned to his assistant. "I need to send an ultumatum to the Miehm commander."

To: Miehm Commander
From: Supreme Admiral Enjire of the Gronde Imperial Navy

This Space Hulk has already been claimed by the Gronde Empire. Remove your men from the hulk and pull your vessels away. We may consider allowing researchers to board after it has been secured. But until then, only AoN forces are allowed to enter. This is your only warning. You have 2 minutes to responde.

They had only an hour to take action, but considering the suprising rate of the Imperial landing they were almost down to minutes.

"How much longer?" Jim asked. He had to yell over the loud machinery that made up the inner workings of the hulk.

"I have no idea" Katie yelled back before walking up to him. She pointed at a screen on her sensor and Jim put down the sense-o-meter he was using pulled back his mask so as the see the display. The screen was cheerfully lit up by at least 400 small green blips, indicating the position of ships around the hulk. They had no way of differentiating between military and science vessel and were forced to assume the worst.

"My God," said Jim.

"Thats not all," replied Katie somberly as she hit another button and the display switched to the emitters they had placed on the surface of the planet minutes before. Many more blips appeared to show the ground forces that had landed and the only vid feed they had showed Space Marines patrolling the nearby area. It was only a matter of time before they found the concealed ship that the Team could possibly escape in. There wasn't much time.

"Katherine!," called Jim. "Where the hell is Katherine?" Jim snapped at Katie.

"I dunno, I think she went to check on our thermatugasists. Shes probly over by Jake, go take a look."

"Right, right," he mumbled to himself as picked up his tools and then put them back down again. The desperateness of their situation had just hit him and he realized truly how little time he had left. They had to set it up, and fast. If the Imperial forces even got a whiff of what had been going on down here Jim, his crew, and the whole planet of Soviet Germussia would fall under the strict 'correction' of the Empire. Needless to say, that was not something Jim was too keen on happening. He scampered across the debrie of the project towards the dirrection Katie had pointed in. Upon rounding a corner he found Katherine at the back of the smaller lab area and she was talking to two men. As he approched Katherine finished her conversation and the two men walked away, nodding politely to Jim as they walked by.

"Katherine! I need you to get your men ready to go! The Imperial forces have responded with much more ferociousness than we had anticipated. 400 ships!!! Get your forces up to the first few levels and buy us some time!"

Katherine looked suprised to hear the number of ships but quickly regained her posture.

"How much time do you need?" she asked.

"Fight as long as you can hold," he said. "Give me as long as your mens lives will buy."

Katherine looked somber for a moment before brushing past the leader of the Team and heading towards the barracks compartment. She couldn't help wondering how things might have been different if the facility had remained in in Soviet space, but things couldn't be helped now. Katherine prepared herself for the worst. They were in for a hell of a fight.

ic> Admiral was already meeting with his command staff, the space marine commander, and the marine staff when he recieved the reply from Miehm.

"We can't allow anyone else to controll this treasure," Kalath declared. "The research team has already confirmed finding remains of Indra Prime ships and temporal technology. Recovering them would be invaluable." (ooc> I already worked that out with Indra via TG)

"Well," Enjire said hessitently. "They sent a response. They are not about to go without a fight."

"Then let us destroy them," Kalath growled. "Our force is superior to theres."

"We cannot afford the losses. But I have a plan to cripple their fleet center before we launch an assault." Afterwards, Kalath explained his plan in private.

Meanwhile, Fighter Captain O'donnel recieved his orders in the Command Barge and distributed them to his leutenants.

"Hey boys, it's time to move," said Lt. Black on one of the carriers. "We need to report launch bay 6!" A young pilote spoke up, nervous.

"Bay 6?" he asked. "But isn't that where the Strike Bombers are? They are deploying us in Strike Bombers?"

"That's right, son. They are the only bombers that will be able to launch a strike at such a range."

"Why do we need to launch a strike from so far?"

"You ask too many questions boy. But if you must know, we want the capital ships to stay outside of their missile range. Don't worry, kid. They may not have very good anti-fighter guns, but their fast." They were descending down to the launch site while talking. "You just need to keep your wits about you and let the Shining Spears cover you."

The 22 Carriers that were part of the two fleets each emptied out their active launch bays, 300 craft per ship. The battle barges and Battle cruisers each unloaded Thunderhawks, and an entire wing of 300 Shining spears got into formation to cover the bombers. The Thunderhawks would provide heavy fire support. The Spears would take out missiles and other fast targets. Finally, the bombers would deliver a payload of Anti-matter torpedos.

*Ok ladies, each group has its target. The enemy has sheidling that is almost impenitrable. We need to hit in between the wedges. Also, each wing-mate has a solvo of phase torpedos to penetrate the enemy's shields if necissary.*

So, a swarm of 6,600 Strike Bombers, 1,000 Thunderhawks, and 300 Shining Spears departed from their fleet, towards the Miehm ships.

Meanwhile, a message was sent to the space marine forces surrounding the Hulk. It reported that other life forms had been detected, and called in Marines as a cautionary messure.

The forces of Chaos wax and wane like the tides, but their eyes are everywhere; watching and waiting for chances to strike out against servants of the false Emperor. The probes of the Imperium had watched this Hulk emerge, and sought desperately to plumb its secrets; had it not been for the ensuing interest. A second Hulk was spewed from the Warp. This one was no drifter. It was the only ship in the Ankhmeti Imperium carrying live humans. As far as the crew knew, they were the only Ankhmeti humans alive in the Universe.

The sensor officer stared at his screen for a few minutes, seeing nothing. Then as if by magic, a blip appeared on the edgess of his screen.

"Sir!We have a space hulk on sensors!"

The captain jumped out of his chair.

"Head straight for it!Launch Starhawks and get a squad of assault marines in that Hulk!Give them orders to take any supplies, weapons or technology they can. Ankhmet may be dead, but we aren't."

He turned to the shadows at the back of the distorted command deck of the Battle barge section of the Space Hulk. He saw the shape of a Daemon of Tzeench.

"What do you want?"

"My master wishes to inform you that there is a powerful artifact at the core of this Space Hulk. The fools who now buzz around the Hulk don't know about it. If you deploy boarding torpedoes now you can get your men in quickly. I suggest you do it now."

The massive increase of warp energy caused some concern amidst the vessels, all ships were now fully crewed and actively on watch.

While this was going on, a murder cruiser was skirting around, avoiding all other vessels until it reached a point. Inside neutral space, a couple million kilometers from the hulk, energies begin to swell... within moments a massive wormhole tears into the fabric of space/time.... For a few moments it hangs there, its mouth gaping wide before the vastness of space... and then a single ship begins to emerge from its mouth.... It cruises a few thousand kilometers from the wormhole, energy from the vessel nearly off the scale.... Shortly, the energy signature dies; and in relation, the wormhole behind the vessel de-stabalizes and slams closed....

The vessel is fairly large... 3060 meters in length; 1200 meter wide, and 650 meters high; with massive pods, containing hangars protruding from retractable arms from its port and starboard sides... And heavy, weighing in at 35,200,000 metric tons... Cannon turrents and missile tubes can be seen pointing in almost every direction... Along it's side, it bears a name TRSS Ra, and hull number, BSG-27, along with a flag painted into the hull on its forecastle; blue red and gold, bearing stars and a spread eagle in attack....

But the vessel just hangs there in space.... watching the activity several million kilometers away....

On the bridge of the vessel.....

"On station..." responds a relatively young officer at the helm....

"Very good ensign," says Vice Admiral Lietzke, a oldish woman, and commanding officer of the Ra....

"Sir," says Lieutenant Hood, the officer manning the science station... "I've got multiple ships, possibly warships, and a largish station of some sort.... The ships all seem interested in it..."

"Concentrate scans on that area Lieutenant..." says VADM Lietzke..." and Helm, take us to one-half towards those vessels.... I want to figure out what all this interest is..."

The TRSS Ra pushes forward at 1/4 light speed towards the vessels and hulk...

The SD(p)s deploy their missile pods, each Medusa class SD holds hundreds of missile pods, and they are distributed to the fleet, if the enemy ships continue on their path and make it past the screening light cruisers and destroyers they'll have a nasty surprise waiting for them, each missile pod holds hundreds of missiles and an SD can tow 20 with little loss of speed or maneuverability. The enemy fighters will soon be within the Shrikes engagement range, which means its time for the Ferrets to light off their EW suites, a Ferrets active EW can scramble any systems short of our own to uselessness and severly degrade any systems on par with ours, as the enemies tech advances compared to ours their effectiveness is reduced accordingly, against the Imperium fighters they should be at near optimum efficiency, the Shrikes should have little trouble destroying the enemies and returning to their CLACs to re-arm, but the truth of the matter remains to be seen. Admiral White Haven gave orders that the Fleet support elements should go around and approach the hulk from the opposite side, he would come to regret that decision.

Support Fleet, Light Screening Units

"Emergence!!!"

"Where? and how close are we to it?", Captain Benjamin of the CSN heavy cruiser Star Knight was not in a good mood at all, a large ship had been picked up on gravitics in a reasonable detection range of his own ship, what was worse was that it looked like another hulk, but that wasn't possible was it?

"Outside our engagement envelope sir, looks to be about two or three light minutes from the hulk, so about one or two from us, we should be out of detection range, sir."

"Good, that means it shouldn't try to kill us for another hour or so, send a FTL message to admiral White Have telling him about this, he needs to know."

Sixteen Million Kilometers off the bowport of the Gronde Flagship, a spatial anomaly, previously recorded by few, in the form of a Temporal Hyperspace window opened up and three vessels of unknown origin and designation smoothly glided out through the boundary that exists between Temporal Hyperspace and normal Space. The three vessels, completely black and without identifiable markings on their hulls slid into stationkeeping orbits around the hulk, fifteen million kilometers off the Gronde Flagship's bowport plane. They sat there, obviously drawn to the area with the massive multination fleet and the incredibly large spatial hulk that rested before them all. Although they were in prime position, they made no movements, no attempts to contact the other vessels, or even simply to identify themselves as hostile or peaceful to the hundreds of vessels in the immediate sector. They sat in space with the calm reassurance one would have, when they are aware of their own complete superiority in defensive and offensive capabilities. With their intentions unknown, their identity unknown, their blatant disregard to the claims made by the other fleets on the Hulk and surrounding space, and their moch more advanced armaments and defenses, time would only tell the reason those mysterious vessels dropped in on the salvaging operation currently underway.

OOC: Background for my guys.... Well I was kind-of hoping I could go on the fly with this one but it doesn't look like thats going to work. My original idea was rather basic and it was basically the Team in the hulk was working on some science project and had a breaktrough in some form of technology (haven't decided what yet, most likely a form of almost instant stardrive or an extremely powerful weapons of sorts.) The science facility was designed to look like a large piece of space junk. The government poured funds into the research efforts and when the scientists were on the verge of their discovery the government was going to release it to the public (no use in having some other countries government steal the project while it was still in development.) But something went wrong. The other political party on the planet trapped the leading party into cutting the funding as they questioned where all the extra funding was going. When the enemy party eventually discovered the truth they were outraged and tensions escalated. The leader of the prominent party at the time decided that it was best if the facility disappeared forever. A ship was secretly launched to the facility that contained supplies to last for a month and a some military personel were left to defend the project before it could be destroyed. Under military supervision the science team was ordered to destroy all traces of the project and a carefully planned 'accident' was constructed. An 'accidental' collision with the facility by a ship of sufficient size was created and the ship jumped into warp along with the collision. The ship then re-landed on the planet and engaged cloaking camoflauge. My first post picks up about 2 weeks into the expulsion and starts with the leading scientist (Jim) as they discover that the whole facility is the center of a possible war. Is that good enough?

The TRSS Ra continues steadily forward.....

"Can you identify those things over there, at 121 mark 3?" asks VADM Lietzke towards her science officer...

"Um.. Not sure, could be sensor pods... there are a number of them... maybe some sort of sensor net?..." responds the Science officer..."They don't match anything in the database... so it is all speculation... not close enough yet for acurate readings..."

"Helm" commands VADM Lietzke...."Alter course, take us towards those vessels with the pods around them, I want a closer look.... and Comm... direct a narrowband towards them... I don't want to take any chances here..."

The TRSS Ra alters course, and turns towards the CSN Star Knight.... as it completes its turn, a narroband transmission is pointed at it....

Unknown vessel or vessels.... This is the TRSS Ra, BSG-27, Sector Control Vessel of the Constitutional Republic of Tekania, Vice Admiral Elizabeth Lietzke commanding... We are on a mission of exploration, and mean no harm to you or your vessels... We are monitoring an odd variance in this sector, and are merely charting it as per our charter... If you can provide further information as to the occurances in this sector, we would be much obliged... Ra out....

for a bit of OOC reference.

The vessels that just arrived are the pride of the Temporal Incursion Fleet, well whats left of it. The Vessels classes are as follows.

Omega Class Temporal Dreadnaught
Quantum Class Temporal Battleship
Singularity Class Temporal Battle Cruiser

No one has seen these vessels before, and are very very heavily armed and extremely well defended. Their true purpose will be revealed later. Oh and they are listed in decreasing order in Size and Armaments.

Bridge of the CSN Star Knight

"Sir We're recieving a transmission from another recent emergence, they identify themselves as the TSSN Ra, an explorer, but their mass doesn't match with any known light vessel, I believe they are nearly as heavy as we are, and thats too large for an effective research vessel, also they're emitting on wider bandwidths than any research vessel I've ever seen, it looks almost like a heavy cruiser or a battlecruiser from the emissions and mass readings. Would you like me to send a reply, sir?"

"Yes we'll reply, begin recording, To the captain of the TSSN Ra, this is Captain Benjamin of the CSN Star knight, we are on a mission to secure the new space hulk in the name of the confederacy, please remain outside of twenty five million kilometers from the ships of this fleet, we will not attack you, but we cannot tell you anything else about this hulk, at least nothing your own sensors couldn't tell you, Benjamin out."

ooc> Ok, I am going to say this once. THIS IS NOT A WH40K RP!!! Both THR and I are the leading members of the AoN and have NOTHING to do with the Imperium. We borrow some of our science fiction theory and technology from BFG, but we are not in the 40k universe. Gronde is an empire, but is not the Imperium. We would be far closer to chaos anyways.

BTW, which side of the massive Space Hulk is the other one showing up. You have THR and I on one side and Miehm on the other. My bomber strike is going under the Hulk to hit his ships. I will respond to the units approaching the Hulk itself, but other than that, I can only acknowledge that it arrived until you let me know where it is located.

ic> The fighter wave came closer and closer the the Miehm fleet. The Shining Spears led the pack, to cover the bombers.
"Incomming missiles!" Contrary to the urgency of the message, this was planned for. The Spears fired off several vollies of Anti-matter seeker missiles into the enemy missiles. About 200 bombers were taken out by the explosions, but the formation held and they continued to close in on their targets. The losses would be far higher before they even unloaded their munitions.

Back at the fleet, 3 unidentified vessels jumped in above the Gronde flagship. They had never been seen before, but they could be identified as Indra Prime vessels, and quite dangerous ones at that. A message was dispatched to them, offering to make a deal.

To: Commander of Temporal Vessels
From: Admiral Enjire

Greatings. I have an offer for you. We have detected a large number of wreckages from your destroyed Temporal fleet. We are willing to help you secure them if you aid us in fighting these interlopers.

Meanwhile, a 1,500 unit strong assortment of Space Mechs and about 2,000 marines were setting up positions around the outside of the Hulk. The plan was to make sure it was well secured. As they were finishing the defences, another massive signature was detected. The surface command had no idea what it was and were awaiting info from the fleet command. However, when a number of starhawks came from the location of the signature, they actually knew what to do. The marine and mech captains were ordered to destroy any units not belonging to Gronde or THR approaching the prized Space Hulk. Laser batteries opened fire on the fast approaching craft and prepared for a fight.

The message reaches the Ra.....

To the captain of the TSSN Ra, this is Captain Benjamin of the CSN Star knight, we are on a mission to secure the new space hulk in the name of the confederacy, please remain outside of twenty five million kilometers from the ships of this fleet, we will not attack you, but we cannot tell you anything else about this hulk, at least nothing your own sensors couldn't tell you, Benjamin out

"Not very helpful sir... Though we are getting better readings from those 'pods'..." says the science officer... "They are missile drones of some sort... The vessels match our size and similar mass, heavily armed... Likely they are warships... comparible armorment to our vessel...."

"Well... not all that friendly either..." remarks VADM Lietzke... "Helm, take change course, I want to get close to that large hulk there... And keep us out of range of the Star Knight.... take us to full... and tactical... take us to condition 2, armor and shields online... weapons are to remain offline... I want to protect the Ra, but I don't want to provoke a fight... we just want a look...."

The TRSS Ra turns towards the hulk, accellerating to just over 1/2 light speed.... two seperate shields come online, surrounding the vessel, and in a very odd, and almost moldlike manner, a thin neutronium armor "skin" begins to grow over the TRSS Ra as she approaches the hulk... Intense scanning beams begin sweeping the hulk and all vessels in the area....

Without showing any sign of reciept of the message sent from the Gronde Flagship, the three vessels of the Temporal Incursion Fleet began to move as one. Each vessel took up positions around the equator of the hulk spaced evenly apart at 120 degrees away from each other. Immediately, the power readings on all the ships surrounding the three Indran Vessels recorded a massive spike in power consumption and output. The readings continued to rise exponentially until there were visible signs around each of the vessels. Each ship activated their entire offensive and defensive arrays ready to repel any threat that may unwisely attempt to challenge their position. On board the Omega Class Temporal Dreadnaught, a massive power surge was directed into a projectable shield generator, that immediately began to produce a shield that tied in with shield probes the other two ships stationed around the hulk and formed a single protective impenetrable defensive barrier between the fleets and the hulk. Any attempt to get to the hulk would have to pass through the Indran Defensive Net now established. To do that, they would have to get past the three warships of the TIF.

With the shield active, and the Indran Vessels geared up for combat, it was decided that the Gronde Admiral should be contacted with the answer. Immediately, a holographic transmission cut through Gronde Flagship's sheilds and armor as if they werent even there and a hologram of the ship's commander appeared in full battle dress uniform in front of the Admiral.

"Admiral, I am Lieutenant General Marcus Socun of the Indra Prime Temporal Incursion Fleet. Commander of the Eternal Vengeance. We will protect this hulk from any attempt to salvage any equipment from it. Once we have our technology and classifed materials, we will let you do with it as you wish. If you attempt any sort of subversion, I warn you, my vessels are far superior to anything you have and can easily handle any agression from any and all sides. We will give your crews the frequency algorithm currently being used by the shield generation probes. This will allow your vessels and yours alone to cross the boundaries set up by the shield. While you are gathering the technology on the hulk we will defend it with the full force of our ships and request that your fleet move into a radial defensive pattern around the hulk. If you want this, your fleet will be the first line of defense. Agreed?"

ooc> That is probobly correct in this case. We have a fighting force that is about the equivelent of your former Temporal fleet, but its not here. LOL.

ic> "Agreed," Enjire replied. "At this point, our naval power will be able to repel the current hostile forces with your aid. If things get too dicey, I may be able to call in an Obsidion Superfortress."

Enjire then turned his attention to the newly arrived space Hulk. It was not even close to the first in size, but it was under the controll of hostile forces that had begun to fire on them. It would need to be destroyed.

"Do we have enough munition reserves to take out something that large?" Enjire asked a space marine officer.
"Easily," the marine replied with pride. "We have enough mines waiting to destroy a Kanuckistani battleplate, let alone this crudely contructed Space Hulk."
"Very well, you know what to do."

About 300,000 small Warp signatures appeared behind the smaller Space Hulk. They were mines, anti-matter seeker mines. They had been stored in the Warp, and were now heading right for the smaller Space Hulk at an alarming speed. It wouldn't even have taken half that many to dispose of the space Hulk.

OOC: BOO, stop controlling traffic to the hulk, I wanna have boarding parties killing each other, not this panziesh ship-to-ship…

IC: Now, now it was chaos, it was all quiet then hordes of other ships began, Marcus and his damned fleet, a hulk of Ra, and many others had come to contest this area of space. Even though the crews were chaotic, the command was fairly calm.

“Some type of communication is going on between Gronde and those large, nasty looking ships, otherwise they’d be shooting each other. We have received a message from the Chronosian fleet, asking us to help them.”

“Tell them that we will help them, but we will not take action against Gronde or their allies if present.”

[quote]Most esteemed blessed of chaos, the skaven shall aid you, but politics have marred us here, we cannot in anyway harm Gronde or allies, but we will gladly attack others. I am sure you, as well as us are on your own quest, so hopefully we can benefit each other.[quote/]

“Link up with the chaos fleet, except for the super carrier, have that skitter leap out but drop warp beacons.”

The vast vessel seemed almost too large for the techno-magic to work, it seemed as if the hull was about to implode, then a massive crack like an explosion rung out and a cloud of green gas was left behind. The other cruisers began heading towards the chronosians…

Meanwhile on the Space Hulk:
The skaven ship was doing okay, now they were being shielded by the mysterious behemoths. Their ships gave off an energy signature similar to that located within the hulk, but that was not their destination, nor their concern. The area they had occupied was a former Styx class cruiser of skaven origin and was blessedly empty of foes. A retrieval of the ships cargo was already underway, while a far more deadly creature was unleashed within the hulk simply to buy time…

As the TRSS Ra draws close to the hulks, she slows down and goes to station keeping... Her scanners intensifying on the larger of the two hulks, and then doing another sweep of the other vessels in the area....

"It is likely these vessels are protecting the large 'vessel' or whatever it is..." says the Science officer, pointing to his screen and the Temporal Fleet, "the others seem to be trying to capture it...."

"So these other ships," says VADM Lietzke, "are likely scavengers.... What about these..." she says, pointing to the Gronde fleet...

"Not sure, they seemed to be salvage as well; though they seem to be assisting the 'owners', as they are deploying mines against the other salvagers; but not against that fleet there..." says the Science Officer...

"So, basically we have two unknown races, protecting some asset, military or otherwise of this other race; and a number of scavenger groups attempting to pirate the vessel?" says VADM Lietzke... "Well, this is certainly not what I expected..." she then turns to her comm officer... "Open a channel to that vessel there..." she says pointing at the Eternal Vengence..."It seems to be the actual one in charge of all of this... I need some answers...."

Narrowbeam Emitters point towards the Eternal Vengence, and a transmission is initiated....

LAC forces

The Ferrets EW seemed to have the enemies fooled for now, but that wouldn't last much longer, not that it mattered, they were now well within the Shrikes powered missile envelope and as such were most likely dead meat. As the Shrikes lit off their impeller drives to full the Ferrets deactivated their EW suites and locked up the enemy fighters and the trailing bombers, the fighters took priority but the bombers had to be stopped eventually, preferably before reaching eighth fleet. The Shrikes recieved the targeting solutions from the Ferrets and fired, they had a max cycle rate of a round every three seconds, but the first volley had three round ready magazines, allowing them to launch three mssiles in closely timed waves, the Ferrets also launched pen-aids and EW birds to confuse the enemy anti-missile systems, all told over five hundred missile were streaking through space at a little under 200 gravities of acceleration, combined with the speed of the ships they launched from they would be nearing the .3c real space speed limit by the time they reached the enemy, they were laser heads that would detonate once they reached 2500 kilometers. The Shrikes and Ferrets, their first volley shot out pulled away at their maximum acceleration of nearly 300 gravities to reload their ready magazines and set up another ambush, this one within range of their powerful spinal mount Grasers

ooc:Errr...UBER GODMODE OF DOOMZORZ! You just happen to have hundreds of thousands of antimatter weapons just waiting around here? Besides, you cannot standardise the damage taking capabilities of Hulks, they're made up of random melded ships. AND you make assumptions about size! It's the only ship left in my fleet, this bastard is huge.

ic:

"Incoming unfriendlies! Antimatter mines, seekers by the look of them!"

The commander grinned.

"Oh. Bring all guns to bear and fire our antimatter armament. If they get too close we'll blink into Q-Space."

The massive armament of the Space Hulk turned on the cloud of antimatter mines, firing blindly into the mass of explosives. Two heavy antimatter missiles threaded into the middle of them, detonating in two massive blasts, sending out a titanic shockwave.

"Proximity alarm! I'm reading about fifty impacts on the rearward void shields!"

"Engage Q-Space drive, set co-ordinates for sanctuary. Mark this area, and blink back again in half an hour."

Across the surface of the Hulk thousands of small projectors came to life, radiating Interdimensional Fatigue rays, puncturing a hole in real space at the centre of the Ankhmeti Space Hulk, sucking it into Q-Space. As soon as tyhe Hulk was gone, the fracture in space healed itself. The Hulk waited, charging it's void shields and rearming at the deserted Sanctuary Station, a rearming point of the old navy.

ooc> Ankhmet: That tactic is one of the main pillars of the Gronde Naval doctrines. (Ask The Horned Rat about how it was used to repel a HFI invasion. Lol. Good times. . .) Each Naval group has a certain number of mines being held in the Warp as reserve weapons. We would be even more keen to use this tactic when we send forces into neutral space. We knew that something big would happen as a result. As for your Hulk's size, I simply said it was smaller than the one we are fighting over. As I stated, the Hulk that we are fighting for is many times larger than any Space Hulk Gronde intel has ever seen. That is why we were so eager to get to it. I doubt that yours would be that large. It could be preaty close, though. I could be wrong, I suppose. One more thing, the only time I wrote anything about its damage capacity was character dialog. That is mearly the character's thoughts and oppinions; in which case, they were assuming.

Miehm: Sorry, I misread your post. I will paste what I wrote earlier to here and edit my other post.

Meanwhile, Enjire watched with supprise as the enemy Space Hulk left real space. It wasn't the type of supprise that meant he didn't know what to do. Instead, it was the type of supprise that meant they had given him an opportunity to turn the tides. The Command Barge launched off about 200 mechanisms that had been desguised as torpedos. They were simply items, and very common equipment in Gronde command vessels. Essentially, they were FTLi emmiters. They were designed to greatly hinder the formation of tears and portals effecting real space. They were spaced apart in such a way to allow small ships to get through, but nothing larger than a light cruiser would be able to make the entry.

If they want to leave, Enjire though to himself. They wont be getting back any time soon. As least not close enough to make a difference.

LACs

As the enemy fighters and bombers continue towards the fleet, the LACs again prepare for ambush, the enemy still seems to be unable to detect them, even after they lit off their drives at full in the last ambush, in seconds the enemy will be in their energy weapon envelope and the real destruction will start, the Ferrets passive sensors already have a solid lock on the bombers, the Shrikes can simply fire their remaining missiles and forget them, the fighters will be shredded by the heavy spinal mount Grasers of tthe Shrike class LACs, they might take some casualties, but they would most likely be minimal, since the enemy didn't even seem to be capable of penetrating their sidewalls they would have to get shots up the wedge of the LACs, since they were going to be crossing the LACs T that wasn't likely to happen.

The Light screen in contact with Eighth fleet

The destroyers and cruisers were all preparing their own firing solutions with active sensors and the data transmitted by FTL relay from the Ferrets, their firing solutions should be almost perfect, there shouldn't be even one miss in ten, the laser heads they haad deployed were set to command activation, when they recieved the command they would go to max accel and proximity detonate within 2500 kilometers of anything in a straight line from their point of origin, to prevent friendly fire the missiles were deployed over 5000 kilometers from the rest of the fleet, some had special targets programmed in, and others would be programmed as the enemy closed, but most would be fired and forgotten.

Jim was about ready. The detonators were in place and the project was secured, for the moment. He looked about forlornly. Jim wished that all of this great technological advancement didn't have to go but they were left without choice due the military lock-down. Katherine was the only person in the entire military crew that had a scrap of sympathy for any of the Team and fortunately she was pretty high up in the military hierarchy. But even she couldn't stop the inevitable. Jim sighed. He dropped the skeliumter he had been holding and bent over to pick it up. He looked at it. Even it too had to go. He tossed the hand-held device into the pile of gadgets nearby and walked away. Now that everything was in place he just had to set things in motion. And then came the escaping part. This was turning out to be one of Jim's most interesting space jaunts.

Rialy held his ground. He wasn't about to let this anoying scientist into the main lab. It had been a few hours since they had said they were done 'working' on it and Rialy wasn't about to let them in to tamper with it anymore. He knew how dearly they held their giant space drive to their hearts and some of the military's own personel were checking the drive currently to make sure all of the proper cords, wires, sockets and other such things had been set up to destroy it. Now one of the whiners was in front of him begging for entrance. Not again! This was the third time today he thought to himself.

"I'm sorry miss, I'm going to have to ask you to stop trying to enter or I will be forced to escort you away from the area" Rialy said in a courtly, non-feeling tone.

"But Rialy!" pleeded Katie. "I need to see the fusion drive just one more time! This is really important!"

Rialy didn't shift stance and stared at the defyingly. "Would you prefer I use force?" He asked.

Katie's enthusiasm died and she frowned at him. "Fine, have it your way, but when the drive doesn't go boom, don't come crying to me."

Rialy's unfaltering devotion to his orders faltered for a moment before he regained his 'uncaring soldier' appearance as Katie stalked off. Some techies in for it now he thought to himself smugly. Katies temper was known throughout the facility and Rialy smiled at setting it off. He hoped that what she was talking about wasn't true. He couldn't bear getting another scolding by the seargent.

Roger walked down the corridor. Coming to a corner he walked past it and took a quick peek down towards the end and then back the dirrection he had come. Noone was there and Roger wasn't going to waste his opportunity. Mind made up, Roger took long strides toward the door at the end of the hallway. And peeked through the steel door's only window in the middle, about face height. No-one was inside the nucliecs chamber and Roger smiled to himself. He hoped he could pull this off. Sliding his scientist access card through the pannel he quickly pushed past the door and into the hot room. Roger remembered when the room had been the busiest part of the facility, but now the machines in the room sat quietly, unused for the better part of 2 weeks. Until now. Roger stepped up to the Generator and grabbed a led suit to protect himself. Upon donning his new clothing, Roger grabbed some tongs marked -Radiation Sticks- in permanent marker and reached inside the top of the storage compartment. Class A radiation molecules compressed into a stick. Roger still marveled at the power contained inside the stick and was quick to put it into a case that he, himself had constructed from spare lab material used up in experiments. The dark steel container looked nothing from the outside. But on the inside an extra thick layer of anti-radiation Traylon that had been added to encase the Class A stick's extra projection. Roger became excited as he placed the stick into the case and snatched the led closed. He was almost ready. Hastily, he threw off his suit and placed everything back the way he had found it. It was working. Roger quickly straightened his white scientist suit and grabbed the container. He pushed open the door and walked away. This time tomorrow the ship would be loading up, and with it the stick. The power core of the drive had been snatched so easily. Roger wondered why the military personel hadn't actually locked down the nucliecs plant, but then again noone had told the government or the soldiers of the core. Roger smiled. This might work out better than he had planned.

Katherine stood on level B1. She knew this by the helpful B1 painted brown on the wall in huge letters. She had scouted out the upper layers of the facility as noone had ventured up here in a few days. The floor looked relatively untouched and Katherine began to plan for a fight. She assumed that any nation or empire that actually figured out what was at the center of the monstrosity would immediately try to force it out. But... they don't know. thought Katherine. She thought back to Jim's comment about 'however long her mens lives could buy'. Perhaps she didn't have to fight this one out. If they could only devise some kind of cover story for why they were out here and delay entry as long as possible...

2 hours later

Katherine had as many men as she could in scientist garb. There were few actual scientists that could be spared up top to talk medical jargon, however Katherine made do. She would try to do all of the talking and the men would act busy. Hopefully, under guise of scientist she could convince whoever landed that the facility was a peaceful, science core happily working on devising some medical cure for some disease. Casy had filled her in on some of the specifics of the Yarfulton disease and the few real scientists could actually talk medical jargon to whoever entered. This sounded completely unplausible to Katherine, but then again she had no other sound ideas. If the guise failed and the intruders began to get pushy a few men were set up to pop of the first shots and give the rest time to re-group and retaliate. Katherine was set with her plan and sat at her desk 'working on papers' and waiting for the arrival of whatever decided to show its face.

ooc> Another post preparing to fire, Miehm? Lol. Just wait until you see what my electronic warfare capabilities are. ;)

ic> Flight Marshal Shryker was put in command of the mission against the Miehm formation. He was in the controll center of the Command Thunderhawk. There was a large moniter above the pilote's chair. There was a red dot with a number for every single Miehm ship in the region. Special Warp sensor probes had been placed around in Warp space. They worked by detecting the Warp Shadows emitted by most space faring craft. These were combined with Void Sensors. Void sensors worked by picking up on the voids in space created by most stealth systems. Between those two special sensors combined with the standard issue detector systems, every single enemy ships had been detected and profiled.

"Know thy enemy," Shryker said to one of the other commanders on a different Thunderhawk. "That is the key to victory." The image of the other commander, 1st Lt. Victor, nodded.

"Yes it is," Victor concured. "We have a profile for all of their ships. They have a unit of light attack craft preparing to hit us again."

"The same vessels that launched the missiles?" Shryker asked.

"That is correct," Victor answered. "This time, they are charging energy weapons. Our Shining spears wont be able to cover us from that."

"Do we still have a pocket that is not effected by the FTLi?" Shryker asked. "We will need to innitiate plan Omega 4."

"Yes, we still have the pocket, and the Jump generators are already prepared. We should also be able to pinpoint the moment before they fire and innitiate the plan."

ooc> Another post preparing to fire, Miehm?

OOC:
My stealth doesn't operate by telling your ships it's not there, it does even better, it gives false readings, it's a displacement technology, not a disappearing technology.

Brother-Captain Demitrius stalked along the corridors of the Space Hulk, followed by the other 50 Space Marines, and 100 Ankhmeti Guardsmen sent to secure the Hulk. Ten of his marine companions carried Heavy bolters, and at least as many Guardsmen carried grenade launchers. They walked , and walked, and walked. After what seemed hours, one of the marines picked up the scent of people.

"Weapons ready."

This simple order was followed by the sounds of boltguns being slung off of the backs of marines, and the terrified mumblings of their unenhanced brethren.

"Can't see down this corridor, but I can smell something. Damn, this place is hu-"

As he started the final word of his sentence a warp-spawned daemon of Slaanesh sliced his head cleanly off. As if by the power of their patron, the corridors became full of the creatures. Another Brother-Captain screamed an order.

"SLAY THEM!"

Hell broke loose. The clattering of the heavy bolters were deafening, and a couple of guardsmen lost their calm and ran. The corridors became splattered with the gore of daemons, and of Brother-Captain Demitrius, who had become food for the creatures in those short moments. Laser beams seared the air, and the barking of orders from commissars to their underlings could barely be heard.
After what seemed like hours of harsh combat the guns fell silent. Spent cases of bolts littered the floor, and at least ten of the guardsmen were lying on the floor, some dead, some dying.
The Brother-Captain who started the melee stood up from the body of Demitrius, holding the geneseed, which had somehow survived.

"It is evident that we are cut off. This place is obviously not friendly to us, and there are others nearby. Some of our brethren are dead, and some will die. We must destroy this Hulk, for the good of those of us who survived the plague."

They made their preparations, and moved unknowingly towards the medical lab.

Katherine stood infront of the strange man. He was in a full military garb and in some sort of suit, the purpose of which was unknown. She considered the group of soldiers behind him, sizing them up in a knowledgeable way. Of course she did all this discreetly, as a scientist wouldn't be able to discern the differences between military units, however Katherine was concerned. She had had considerable experiance in the Soviet military during The Expansion, as the Soviets took the world and united it under one government. And she had even served on the ship Nautlis, and been one of the first the explore other planets. But in all her travels Katherine had never seen the strange armored men before her, thus the cause of the concern. But she pushed this all out of her mind to answer the question at hand.

"Um, well were researching a rare ailment commonly known as Yarfulton's disease. It's quite interesting, but may I inquire what you are doing here?" she asked. She was hoping to milk the intruders for as much information as possible while not playing her 'lets talk to the scientists' card. The more time the better she thought. Lets see just how long we can play this game. She settled in for the round of questioning that was soon to follow and would be careful not to waste information heedlessly, afterall, she had a Team to protect.

Rialy was off duty, and he liked it. He was at the bar. Yep, even on a secret, government protected, science facility there was beer. And why not? thought Rialy. He had already had two Budwiesers, the last on the entire hulk, and his companion was rather sour about that.

"Come on Roger, buck up." He said while slapping Roger on the back. "You know I didn't think scientists were capable of drinking anyway... Where'd you learn?"

"I didn't" Roger replied tartly. "But that doesn't matter anyways...," he leant closer the Rialy and looked around before whispering, "Look here Rialy, can you keep a secret? Not just like 'I like Katie' or something but this is really important. People could die if its let out. Are you up to it?" Roger stared hard at Rialy and bored into his blue eyes. Rialy blinked.

"Uh, sure man but whats so important?" he asked hesitantly.

"Listen here," Roger leaned closer. "I've got something in this briefcase that could change the fate of the universe, shape the future, but I need some help to do it." Rialy noticed the metal container for the first time, propped up against the bar underneath Roger's stool. He glanced at it and then back at Roger, who was staring intently at him.

"OK..." he responded

"I'll get to the point, I stole the power core of the drive."

Rialy spit out the last sip of Budwieser back into his cup. "You what!?" he hissed.

"Not so loud!" Roger hissed back and looked around. In the undercrowed bar nobody had heard Rialy's outburst and Roger looked back towards him with meaning.

"I need you to help me get it onto the ship, as you probably know already the ship is loading, can you go on duty overtime and get it on somehow?"

Rialy fidgeted with his glass. He didn't know what to do. The drive was supposed to be destroyed... Suppose he was caught smuggling the core on? Or worse, what if later on their escape ship was captured and the core fell into some alien freak's hands? Then what? Roger noticed Rialy's indecision and took advantage of the moment.

"Think of this Rialy. What if we make it? What if we pull it off? Think of the profits we can reap! I know of the core and the drive, all we need is the core to re-create the drive. Then we can break away from the group, sell it on our own, and make a huge profit! We could retire in that huge mansion you always wanted up by Jordan Creek!" his tone turned more serious, "Besides, we don't want that 'for the good of man kind' crap that Jim is handing out. We couldn't get anything from that."

Rialy stopped fingering his glass and put it down on the counter. "Alright fine, but if this doesn't work..." he glared at Roger, "Your taking full blame, I wasn't a part of this." Roger took the glare head on. "Good then its a deal." He extended his hand and Rialy shook it. They were making history.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jim grabbed a box of supplies and loaded it up onto the loading ramp of the ship, which was slowly rotating so that the items placed upon it would end up inside the cargo area of the ship. Katie, and another marine that Jim was not familier with had volunteered to load up the ship. The idle conversation continued for awhile all the while the ship's cargo bay grew more full. At last all of the boxes and metal containers were stowed on the ship and the marine, who Jim had now come to know as Rialy, offered to go lock the hatch and check the contents inside the bay. As Jim walked away he saw the man step into the cargo area and then turned his head to Katie as they slowly walked away. It will suffice to say that Rialy made good use of his time.

ooc> Soviet: You do realize that you wont be able to escape the Hulk so long as Indra Prime's barrier is in effect.

ic> Cassus and his squad took a few more steps inward towards the lab. The Sargeant was not shocked by the vagueness of this woman's response. She seemed to be buying for time or, perhaps, trying to extract some information from Cassus. He had observed such things many times in his one-hundred years of fighting.
"I am a Sargeant for Gronde's First Space Marine Chapter, my rank should be sufficient for now," said Cassus. "I am here on a mission for which I am not at liberty to explain." As he spoke, he looked around at these "scientists." He had grown quite good at reading people by their physique and actions. He could tell that they were hiding something. Another detail jumped out at him as well.
These men are too well build to be scientists, he though. As he finished his introduction, Cassus whispered into a squad-mate's ear, telling him to send a message to squads 3 and 7. They were to search the surrounding area for anything suspicous. Meanwhile, whatever military etiquette the Soviets were expecting was not going to happen.

"Your scientists sure like to keep themselves in shape," said Cassus sarcastically, while unholsting his pistol. His squad subtly readied their bolters. "Now, no more games; why would anyone choose to research a miracle drug here, of all places?"

ic> Sgt. Ventress was stalking the corridors around the lab, covering his battle-brother's (Sgt. Cassus's) squad. His elite scout unit was equiped with the most advanced stealth technology Gronde had to offer. Many of them were armed with sniper rifles utilizing Rail gun technology. The Sgt. carried a gatling style plasma rifle. They found the 80 strong unit unit of soldiers from an unidentified source. This was bad, between his squad and cassus's squad, there was only 20 marines. The other squads in that company were elsewhere, scouting out further ahead. They were no ordinary soldiers, but they were still badly outnumbered. Commander Dorn and his terminators were not too far away, but there was only 5 of them in all. Granted, this logic was for an open, direct fight. His men could snipe off a good portion of these interlopers. However, prisoners were always more usefull. As the soldiers lined up in a firing position, threatening the location of squad Cassus, Ventress spoke up in his Russian accent.

"Don't move," said Ventress to the commissar. "Drop your weapons. Don't try anything or you and your men will most certainly die."

Katherine turned in suprise as the new troops poured in from an unnoticed door. The men by now had gotten to their positions, and Katherine was the only person left on the floor, besides the intruders. She slowly backed off as the men in the armor moved to counteract the new threat. This was quickly turning into a three way free for all, and Katherine would rather be with her men when it exploded. Backing off through the corridors she slowly moved away from the area and, once around a corner, bolted. The killzones were already set up and Katherine ran up the stairs, three at a time. Upon reaching the top she found the position as she had planned. Her unit of fifty men was set up in as many ambushes and killzones as she could make of the small upstairs compartment. By confining herself Katherine knew she had doomed herself, and her men but she was determined to distract the intruders anyway. But if she could find a way to power that elevator..... But for the moment their were more important topics. The few Quans that had been sent on the original ship had been gathered and their business ends were pointed down through the floor at key points on floor B1. Including the area of the Space Marine and Ankmeti confrontation. A small group of men was left on the lower floor to lure enemies into the killzones and get blown to pieces by the Quans. Most of the men had 50k-transitons except for the few with Magni-blasters and Launchers and the every man had a sidearmnament consisting of a plasma pistol. All of the ammo in the entire facility that wasn't being loaded onto the ship was piled into certain areas of the upstairs comparment. All of the entryways to the upper area were covered. Katherine was ready for a fight.

"Hold your fire men, lets see if these two forces want to play" she said and a soldier who was operating a Pellet firer gave her a thumbs up. The forces didn't seem to notice her for the moment and she wasn't all that eager to test out that strange power armor. At least I'm was buying time. Or at least thats what she thought.

OOC: About my weapons

1) A Quan is basically a futuristic 50 cal. It fires small shots, not unlike that of Halo's needler, but the shots aren't homing and have no large explosion from massive fire. They do ricochet and are also armor piercing. They penatrate armor such as a tanks easily, but certain metals are completely immune to the penatration effect, such as steel. It is not know why but it will ricochet off of these metals it can't penatrate. Needless to say, the facility was constructed out of the cheepest material available at the time, which was steel. Pellet shooters is the slang term for Quans.

2) A 50k-transiton is a standard issue Soviet weapon. It is much like a regular medium range rifle, however it fires special anti-personel rounds that once inside skin, break apart, thus causing as much internal damage as possible. It is not designed to pierce much armor other than typical soldier body protection (ie, helmet, 'bullet proof' vest, etc.)

3) Magni-blasters are small hand-held pistol-like weapons. They do damage to vehicles, electronics, and weapons by a form of EMP. It can jam a weapon for a short period of time, however the recharge per fire is extensive (about 5 minutes between shots) and it is only used against heavy fire weapons (such as Space Marine las-cannons and heavy bolters)

4) Plasma pistols are small pistols that draw from a charged core to shoot small pieces of burning plasma through the air. The ammunition does run out eventually and can be replaced via a small section on the back, through which the small round core can be placed and extracted.

5) Sometimes it pays to have a huge rocket launcher. Designed as an anti-vehicle weapons centuries ago, the Launcher still plays a prominent role in anti-vehicle tactics of the Soviets. It is virtually unchanged from todays variety except for a small targeting device on the top of the weapon that allows the user to lock onto a target after a set period of time.

Space, a fairly empty place in the universe. In the blackness of space not far from the Gronde ships a lick of lighting apeared. A blood red bolt of lighting dance around an area like a tounge licking its lips befor a tear formed, the new generation of jump engines of the Dark empire. Suddenly more of these bolts apeared as they danced then opened as Chapter ships entered the area, the Battlebarge Raven flagship of the Sabbat Fleet. Escorts of 4 destroyers and 6 frigates also apeared along side her, the battlebarge dwarfed her escorts in size.
Raven Stood up "Tactical Squadrens 5 though 10 go, i want your breaching pods on the surface of that hulk." she barked. why here i wonder, why have they brought us to this carcase of a ship. WE are ment to be hunting the fallen but they bring us here. she thought to herself. "contact all ships in the area tell them not to stop us, put all ships on full combat alert i want all gun ports opened and weapons hot. Target that hulk i want a safety net just incase."
"yes Premarch" a battle Brother replyed.

From the surface of the Battlebarge 10 pods fired from her at high speeds, far to high for anything living to handle or one would think. Fighters suddenly left the barge and followed the pods in as they escorted some larger transport. the pods moved in fast, they had a long way to cover and it was easy as long as they didnt get shot at. the ETA of the pods was 10 minutes, the fighters and transport just over an hour.

The Marines were not here for any Tech or scrap nor did they want anything from this hulk. All they wanted to know was why the 2 12th Generation Stigmata ships had brought them here as them 2 ships glided around the area and had been for hours. the ships completely adapted to be in space since the fact that they lived in space and were now (with lots of money spent on them) 100% sentiant beings, they had spent the last hour after exploring the system watching the hulk and following the Fallen Battlebarge Storm and her escorts in hyperspace.

The fallen ships had been following this hulk, staying in hyperspace it was hoped they would be able to byed there time and enter the area when reinforcements apeared or less of the ships were there. Tho they would act to quickly not yet without knowing what it was that drew them to it. The Prists and Clarics seemed to be having fits just be feeling what ever it was inthere, something that was better then sex or drugs something god like to them.

The marine made a hand gesture, and ten warp-spawned horrors appeared, staring at the troops with their daemonic eye, seeing all.

"Good."

More of the Guards were moving in now, three of them carrying a heavy bolter.

ic> Sgt. Ventress stepped forward, revealing himself. His highly advanced regenerating Carapace armour was both luster and dull at the same time.

"Don't be foolish," said Ventress. "I know not what warriors you think we are, but your death would be inevitable whether what you say is true or not." He unhooked a strange grenade weapon from his belt. "Do you know what this is? It is an explosive that could take out this entire chamber, killing all of us. Besides, you are trapped in this Hulk. You cannot escape and aid cannot reach what forces you have here."

Meanwhile, a dark figure stalked the coorridors towards the confrontation. She was Shayde, one of the deadliest assassins in the AoN. He skin-tight hostile-environment suit was able to hide her form, she was basically invisible. She had no clan, but she had trained at all of the temples. Her fighting skills were unmatched. Even Kalgar himself was said fear her power. She could remain undetectable until she attacked. He Warp Shadow was not only hidden, it wasn't even there. OOC: for everyone trying to get on or off the Hulk, there IS a defensive field that surrounds the Hulk being generated by the Omega Class Temporal Dreadnaught. In other words, Corpsac, your breaching pods are about to meet a really untimely end if they attempt to cross that boundary. Just thought you should know. And since no one seems to want to attack the vessels holding up the shield in the first place, might as well continue to the next phase.

IC: With the shield in place, and the Indran Vessels' position unchallenged, Lieutenant General Marcus Socun ordered the next phase of the mission to begin. In less than five minutes time, three hundred figures materialized in squads of six all throughout the hulk. They were each wearing the battlegear of the Indran Elite Black Ops and carrying weapons that had rarely seen the light of day. They didnt care about the boarding parties of the other nations, they only cared about their objectives. If they encountered any resistance, their armor was specifically designed to withstand most energy based and all projectile based weaponry. The armor was designed in such a way that the entire body was covered, so the enemy couldnt tell who was behind the helmet and it was not gender specific, at least on the outside. Twelve of the fifty teams has been transported directly to the remains of the Phaeralon Class Vessel's critical sections to recover sensitive temporal technologies that remained behind as well as the Flight Data Recorder crystals to determine which vessels were here in this wreck. The other thirty eight teams went about their assignments without giving any indication to anyone who might be watching an idea as to what they were doing or why they might be doing it. If anyone tried to interfere with their assignments, they had orders to shoot to kill.

ooc> Actually, she can. She can because she uses a combination of technological and mental stealth. At best, your daemons might get a "6th sense cognition," but wouldn't be able to locate her, until she attacks, that is. Right now, she is not altering he environment in any way, therefore, once she attacks something, then will will be altering her environment and thus can be detected. Failing to do that would be seen as an attack on us and in the eyes of the Empire you standing in the way of us finding out what the Gratest enemy of CorpSac would want with it (The Fallen CorpSacians). And if that was to happen the Empire would bring it up with the ESUS courts, after all you of all people should know we have no interest in your tech since we dont like the idea of Time tech or anything that is linked to it (that and we dont want your Fleet apearing at our door step).

IC:

In the Depths of Hyperspace the Fallen gathered, 2 Battlebarges, 8 destroyers and just over 20 Frigates of the Fallen Marine Fleet had arrived. There main target would be the Space marines of the Empress they didnt care about anything elce apart from the AoN ships or CCA ships both allies of the Dark Empire.
"Whats takeing so long, why is the Cult ships not here" the Captain spat, his Blood red Armor a reminder of the once proud Chapter of the Camarilla tho twisted and currupted with runes of the fallen gods.
"we have 10 more ships one route comeing from raids on the Empire." Another marine hissed, "we have no idea when they would arrive."
The Captain was getting annoyed, the fallen gods had guided them here and now filth tryed to take what was theres what ever it was.

In real space the ships of the Marines watched, they had expected what ever force had that field in place to allow the pods to get though but that didnt seem so. The computers had no idea who or what they were and Raven didnt care, in 5 minute the pods would hit that field and to the Chapter that was a act of war on there part.
"Target that unknown ship (Indra Prime Omega Class Temporal Dreadnaught) Order them to tell us who they are and to allow our pods though. All ships will target them send out all fighters and get them to put a fighter screen between us and them and move up. I dont like unknowns and if our pods are destroyed....open fire." Raven Said looking at the Battle Sister at the comm station. "order all Marines to breaching pods aswell if we have to fight then we will do it and i want to take the fight to them deck by deck when anyform of shields they have go down."
"FOR THE EMPRESS, FOR THE RAVEN" the marines shouted, the bridge became alive with activity.
"i will lead the attack myself on that ship, remeber do not attack until our pods are destroyed but if they allow them though we do not attack." she stood up and headed for the Armory.

As she walked down the halls with her honor guard around her the Crews moved around. Naval marines did there jobs, Other marines ran about gearing for war.
When she got to the Armory she and her honor guard put the Power packs on, then grabing there Bolters as she picked up the Ravens Blade. A blade that was pure black and gave no light infact it seemed to take light in, behind her was a thick metel beam. She took one strike at it and cut though it as if the knife was going tough butter, she smiled picked up her helmet and put it on.
"honor Guard, move out" she said on the internal comm.

The hail went out to the unknown ships (indra primes) and so did the gun sights as the ships moved to target them. The message was short and to the point, who are you, let our troops though or face death sighed with the crest of the Dark Empire of CorpSac and the honors of the Chapter of the sabbat.

And whos to say we don't fix it for use? And to Indra, I know about the shield, why do people keep mentioning it?

IC: The ship was almost ready. The cargo was completely loaded and the science team was assembled, in full, in front of the frieghter. As no word had been heard from Katherine, or her team, for quite some time the Team had assumed they were dead, and held a rather basic funeral service for the 'deceased'. Now the Team was prepared to launch and the few remaining military men, those not given to Katherine to buy time, checked the few weapons on board the frigate. The only particle cannon was ready to fire and the two rear mounted Quans were prepared and loaded. The Team filed into the ship and fired the engines. Soon the automated bay would open and they would be prepared to 'escape' the Hulk, and possibly save their own lives.

Ok: The whole point is that she, aided by her skills, powers, and technology, doesn't do any of those things that alter he environment. She leaves no trace of her pressence. As for Corpsac's possible ability to detect it, the only thing I could think of would be some of the higher level tech used by his Stigmata. And I'm not even sure about that.

The small Chronosian battlegroup paused on the edge of the fracas; and opened its communications.
"We represent the great Chronosian Imperium; and the interests of the Daemon Emperor; he who reigns in the Materium and the Immaterium; he blessed by the Four Powers, most Ruinous." The transmission paused, degenerating into a hissing crackling static. "We wish to examine this vessel, by his Will. The Emperor shall not be denied" The communications seemed to fluctuate. "State your origin and your allegience....We will not attack unless provoked...."

For obvious reasons, Katherine did not feel safe. A grenade was currently being chucked at the reserve force down the stairs and she had hoped no attention would have been drawn to her with the newcomers. As three men fell to the ground at the explosion two more popped out from behind a corner and fired a few rounds from their transistors at the marines in power armor, using the recent smoke for cover. The rounds bounced uselessly off of the armor and hit one of the Anhkmeti men, an un-augmented one, and pierced his normal type body armor, causing a minor puncture wound in the shoulder. The fighting had begun. Katherine gave an order to have the Quans open up if any more troops (Gronde or Anhkmeti) tryed anything (such as moving) on their forces. Katherine moved back to the elevator and gathered the two remaining scientists to help her figure out what was wrong. After a few moments of observing the elevator one of the men realized that the power cord must have been connected to the generator in the lower levels, which would have been powered down by now as the ship attempted its escape. Katherine would have to get some form of power to the elevator if she ever hoped to get out of her sticky situation. This would prove to be most stressful.

Fifty of the Ankhmeti Guard troopers plucked up their courage, and spurred on by the words of their Commissar charged the enemy. They fired their las rifles at the enemy's general direction, hoping to keep them down whilst the charge went on. The heavy bolters at the rear roared into life and spat mass-reactive death at the enemy, whilt ten assault marines used their jump packs to move with speed across the room, swinging their chainswords. The grenadiers fired a volley, and hid at the back.

A short transmission was sent out to the CorpSacian vessels and to every other fleet in the area, from the Eternal Vengeance.

Attention CorpSac vessels. This is the Indran Temporal Incursion Fleet Vessel, Eternal Vengeance. You will not be allowed to pass until our mission here has been accomplished, any attempts to pierce the field surrounding the Hulk will result in your soldiers deaths by unpleasant circumstances, and an act of war against the Indran Vessels before you. The Three vessels of the Temporal Incursion Fleet before you, have more than enough firepower to level entire star systems not to mention the fleets that are here at this moment. Turning us into an enemy, would not be a wise move at this point. If you want this Hulk, thats your deal but we are going to accomplish our mission before any more people step foot on the Hulk. Any attempts to cross the barrier will be constituted as an act of agression and will be dealt with, with the full force of the weaponry our vessels possess. This is our first and final warning to you all. Eternal Vengeance OUT.

The Battle Brother captain Sha'Lac stood dumb struck, "Premarch Raven, ETA of the pods 2 minutes. It seems that the unknown fleet is infact a Delta Classified Fleet, the Temporal Incursion Fleet it explains why we had no idea what they were. The say they will not lower or weaken the field for our pods to get though. Orders?" he said, when Ever the Delta sign poped up it ment one of 2 things, Temporal Tech or somthing high command didnt real know about just wanted it to look fancy. In this case it was both since almost all data on the Indra prime was classified Delta for in the eyes of the empire were Gardians of the STC.
"tell them then they have 2 minutes to allow our ships though, by now they must know that we have no use of there technolagy, it seems thats the only reason they ever pop up theses days. Charge all weapons, send a encoded message to the Chronosia ships get them on our side." Raven said in the internel comm system of the suits "and contact all AoN member ships get them on side aswell, if we need to fight the Indra we're going to need all the help we can get. but remember to tell the Indra ships if our pods are destroyed by there field it will be seen as an Act of war and agression by there part."
"Yes Premarch." Sha'Lac replyed, moveing on to relay the message to the TIF ships that they had 2 minutes to allow the ships though or it will be seen as an act of agression and war on there part and that the Dark Empire had no interest in there Tech or anything they might be interested in.
Along with that encoded message's went to the Chronosia ships and all AoN and CCA member ships with the simple message. Indra prime ships are preventing the defence of the Dark Empire and the destruction of any of the Bording pods bound to the Space hulk to be an act of war on Indra primes part, being it with weapons of defencesive or offensive nature.
It wasnt like the Dark Empire wont pay a hansum dept to people who helped it, it was widely know if you scrach the Empires back it might one day scrach yours.

ooc> Don't be too sure. Having done my share of reading/research into Honorverse, I can say that their shielding, weapondry, and electronic warfare capabilities are formidable. It is only with a very sound plan do I engage them. Therefore, I would say that you would need at least two of your ships to take his fleet out with "no problems." Lol.

Corpsac: Yes, yes, the AoN has long known the tradition of Empire "back scratching." Lol. Hopefully it wont result in more fighting. Lol. That would make my position on the matter, well, complicated. (especially seeing as how Enjire is still laying claim to the Hulk and intends to bring it back to Gronde once Indra is finished)

ic> The Bomber Wing command had done their homework. They had made a layout of the areas in space that would be the most likely spots for the enemy to fire at them, based on range and angle. They combined this with the readings they got from their sensory systems to pinpoint exactly when and where the next volly would come. The three special Thunderhawks were actually Warp beacons, equiped with special portal-making equipment instead of carrying capacity. At the precise time calculated, the 3 craft tore open a large rift big enough for the entire fighter grouping to fit through. And just like that, they went from real space into Warp space, within the only pocket not effected by the FTLi. Unfortunately, the calculations were not perfect and about 600 more fighters were destroyed, gunned down before they reached the rift. This was a small fraction compared to what they would have lossed had they not made the jump. Moments later, the Wing reappeared in real space, now much closer to their targets. They were in the home stretch, in about 30 seconds, they would be able to launch their payload of munitions and bail. Sadly, that final 30 seconds would likely see much of the Wing obliterated.

Meanwhile, Ventress and his squad were fighting desperately to avoid being pinned down by the enemy's fire. They were allowing themselves to lose ground while taking shots with their rail sniper rifles. Ventress's Gatling Plasma rifle sent vollies of burning hot plasma firing through the halls. From the other side, Sgt Cassus and his men gave covering fire from the doorway. Shayde waited for the right moment to strike.

Anyway Gronde you really think that the Space marines would allow you to take the Hulk befor they found out what the fallen wanted with it, we would destroy it rather then let that happen since for all we know what ever it is could currupt your people and we dont want that, not at all.
I take it no one minds what i put on next, what my people have come to kill/destroy (and the fallen come to take)
IC:
Deep in the hold of the hulk something awoke, an evil that even the Chaos gods hated and feared for they could not seen the her in the warp. slowly its deep eyes open, blood red and cold it looked round. her name was Dahaka, the fallen god of death and mother of pain. She stood up from her crypt as she took the form of a Dark Elf, skin was gray, ears long and she was vary good looking. From her head 2 horns formed, curved round along the top of her head to end with the tips pointing slightly up. She was naked as she stood looking round, she didnt know where she was but the call of death had awoken her and she liked this realm.
"where are they" she said to her self, her voice soft but currupting to the soul. She looked round and picked up her robes and her sword, the door to the chamber was locked but that didnt stop her. She lifted her right hand and held it out to the door, it suddenly exploded from the wall.
Above she could feel the life force of the living and the smell of combat and she knew she could feed. She faded from the room then a few minutes later faded back close to the combat where the Gronde marines moved, leaching onto the roof she sat and watched. HEr aura hidden and her figure couldnt be seen she looked at Ventress, smileing she knew what to do.
She spoke softly so only a few of his marines could hear inclueding him, slowly she would plant the seed of curruption of the fallen then she would move on to the people shoting at them, the cults (the Soviet Germussia people) would be turned to then she would plant more seeds in the others on this ship as she once did so long ago.
Her message to Gronde Sargent and few troops was simple and cleaver wispers of betrayal, wispers of them being abandoned ideas thrown in to make it seem they were left to die for no reason at all and that there ships were gone and the idea that the Battle brothers who she didnt speak to were traitors and they should die. With that message was the supression of an idea to call in to find out she wanted to and as she spoke her words they would slowly currupt there soul for she wasnt feared for nothing by all of the gods, Fallen or Chaos.

OOC: Dahaka just going to make shore you lot kill each other, she will soon start on the Indra people once shes got a grip on this little battle. Gronde i dont care if the Sarg dont fall but the marines she talking to should, cults is just the way the Fallen see non Space Marines (known as Fallen). OOC: you have now formally been introduced to Ghost-rider, you just avoided a bunch of Ghost-rider drones programmed to emulate the signatures of LACs preparing to fire, you fell right into the trap, there was no fire on your ships, they all survived, but now you have a bunch of LACs within about 25000 kilometers of your fighters, I deliberately never stated where my LACs were, only that your fighters would have been in my range in seconds, now they are, I used to play 40k in RL and I figured you'd try to warp closer to my fleet so I set an ambush with Ghost-rider drones to make you jump into my range.

I wrote from the perspective of what my sensor saw, not what was really happening, since your warp sensors saw a ship where there was supposed to be one, that wouldn't set off any alarms, since it was emitting like an LAC it still wouldn't set off any alarms, if you do not agree with that I'll RP like it the LACs fired on your ships, I didn't say that they were drones because I figured that if you knew OOC you'd come up with a way to know IC, and warp sensors wouldn't do the job, Ghost-rider drones are approximately the same size as an LAC, you'd get close enough to the proper warp signature for it to be within the error of the sensors, you did your homework but you still forgot about Ghost-rider.

Now for the trap to spring.

IC:

The fighters emerged from warp within 25000 kilometers of the still stealthed LACs, they were sure to be detected but the enemy was too close to change course and still hit the fleet, they had temporarily lost lock when the enemy warped, but now they regained it as the Ferrets went full active on their sensors, as the sensor readings came in it looked like approximately 600 had not made it to the warp before it closed, that made the job much easier. The Shrikes had firing solutions and the bombers were doomed, their missiles were going to be at almost full power on their drives when they reached the enemy bombers, there would be little time to evade the swiftly moving missiles, but some might escape, the grasers could handle the leakers, the fighters would be a tougher proposition they would have to be engaged by the grasers and the Ferrets 30 cm laser mounts, there weren't enough missiles to target the fighters and bombers all at once.

The Shrikes fired, their missiles were fired on full power for their drives and would cover the intervening distance in under three seconds, the bombers were toast. The Ferrets opened fire with their lasers, while not as powerful as a Shrikes grasers they were still powerful weapons, being in the 100 terrawatt, or 100 trillion watt, range, the fighters that were hit would be destroyed, the ones that were missed would be cold meat for the faster and more maneuverable LACs.

Normally, I would be irritated if someone pulled something out of their ass like that, but I've gotten used to it by now, and have therefore learned to be prepared for anything. I will make a reply, but would still like some answers.
One more thing, the 600 fighters and bombers that I posted losses for would have still made it in to the opening, I simply assumed that about that many would get hit before making it in. Since there was no firing, they would still be part of the main grouping.

ic> The fighter wing left the Warp and the Captain was feeling confident, they had avoided heavy losses. Or so he thought. Within a second of exiting, the Intel Servitor (the new model) informed the Captain that the attack craft they avoided didn't actually fire, obviously decoys. They also detected a large group of enemy strike craft right in front of them, about 25,000 Km ahead. Thinking fast, he had to decide on the appropriate protocol. They had prepared for things like this. The Wing had a one time use Phase generator, and squadron based teleporters. The easier option would be to phase out to avoid the enemy fire. However, the Captain wasn't sure what effect gravity would have on the phased out ships. Therefore, he activated the Teleport Protocol. The entire wing teleported from their current location to directly between the main fleet and the LACs just as the attack craft opened fire. Things were not going as planned, they hadn't even reached their targets and they already used their escape plan.

OOC: Corpsac's fallen goddess? That will make an interesting stir among the skaven...

IC: Alpha platoon could here a raging firefight just on the other side of the wall. The voices of...space marines and humans yelling at each other.

"Quick-quick, plant melta charges and prepare to take prisoners, if they don't get down, lead them all." Of course the chieftain giving these orders was in the rear with his stormvermin bodyguards.

3..2..1 The metal buckled and twisted for .7 seconds before a breach big enough for a dreadnought was made. Already, squads 1 and 2 were running through, aiming K-2s at the unidentified man-things (soviets) yelling in various languages used by the humans to "GET THE F@*% DOWN AND SURRENDER!"

Platoon beta was being detached with the fire fight going on in the med lab, not wishing to commit themselves, but not about to retreat. A techno-jockey presented the chieftain with a message. It confirmed that the ships contents were recovered, but to continue searching for salvage. The order to fire was just about to given...when she came.

The dark and terrible mistress, the fell goddess of the horned rat. not a breath was taken. That she was on board this very hulk all the time, while they wasted time searching for the scripture.
The squawking far-squeaker was ignored as the skaven rushed in their eagerness to protect their goddess...

OOC: It's actually a case of mistaken identity, I think. But the skaven have been searching for a long time for clues to find their goddess. OOC: concerning the shots fired before, my LACs moved out of contact at max speed in order to evade any response by your forces, they would have been able to get outside sensor range in under a minute, assuming your ships have the same sensors as the RL 40k marines which have a range of about 30k kilometers if I remember right(been a long time since I did any 40king, IC or in RL, so I might be wrong) allowing them to deploy ghost rider drones and still have time to return to the fleet, not much time, but time nonetheless. Concerning the ones that I thought escaped, I figured they wouldn't have time to make it to the warp before the pocket closed. My LACs have much better speed than your fighters without your fighters ability to use the warp or to teleport, they're fast, but they're stuck in real-space and cannot hyper out, which is why I have CLACs. I'll deal with your fighters now.

IC:

The fleet had detatched its pinnaces and most of them had been used to get the marines into the hulk, but 300 still remained with the fleet in case an emergency evac was needed by the marines, when the enemy fighters appeared behind the main fleet the pinnaces acted swiftly and opened fire with their laser batteries, even though they were only dual 20 cm lasers they could still do some damage to the enemy fighters and would give the destroyer screen behind the fleet time to react and attack the fighters before they could engage the fleet. The pinnaces fired, their lances of coherent light flashing across the distance towards the enemy fighters, hopefuly the enemy wouldn't be able to disappear again. The destroyers were slower to move, requiring time to get missile locks on the fighters before they could engage at that range, once the destroyers had fired a barrage of missiles they would close with the enemy and open fire with their beam weapons hopefully it would be enough to destroy the opposition before it reached the mighty capitol ships and cruiser screen between them and the enemy fleet, the capitol ships had bow walls, but it probably wouldn't save them from taking at least a little damage from the bombers before their heavy energy batteries swatted them from existance.

ooc> Alight, I will say this one more time, there are countless differences between my ships and 40k ships. With the exeption of the modified Thunderhawks, my fighters and bombers are not even inspired by 40k. The strike bombers could probobly out manuver your LACs, and the Shining spears would run circles around them. Also, even if the sensors on the fighters themselves were limited, (which they are not) they get feeds from the Warp probes and the powerfull detectors on the Capital ships. Just trying to make that clear, I'm not trying to be an ass about it.

Katherine decided now was the time. As more strange creatures burst through the wall into the already tangled firefight Katherine gave the order to fire. The Quans opened up and the pair of men on the two nearest the fight unloaded three whole lines each (standard ammunition amounts with about 100 rounds each). With six-hundred ricocheting bullets, the men on the Quans pulled back so as to avoid the ones that re-bounded into the upstairs position. The fire was spewed randomly at the combined enemy forces as the reserve on the ground floor popped up and unloaded clips from their Transistors and then retreated to a defensive position above the nearest entrance. Katherine didn't take the time to ascess casualties of the enemy, as one of the scientists grabbed a pistol from a marines belt and quickly took it over to the un-powered elevator. Taking out the power core, Katherine watched as the man wired the core into the circuitry of the elevator. Katherine got the drift and gathered the nearest pile of Plasma cores into a pile of about 7 or 8 and fed them to the man as his colleague began working on other sections of wire. Hopefully these would emit enough power around to get the elevator working. They conducted electricity so if applied right it should work, the only problem was Katherine didn't know if the elevator generator was cabable of running off of Plasma. If not the generator might explode during use... Katherine had to take the risk though as her men wouldn't last in a sustained firefight against all of these forces. She hoped it would work.

Dahaka jump from one group to another, currupting there souls waiting for the right moument to turn them on there own friends. she moved so she was above the Soviet Germussia in the small fight, wispers of betrayal and hate were feed into them along with 100's of other lies. When she finished talking she moved to the center of the battle, makeing herself float in mid air only feet above the ground casting a Psi Shield to deflect incomeing fire. at the same time she made herself visible to each of them, her dark Elf slim body, the looks to die for (and the *cugh* are grate).
She spoke with a booming but terrorfing voice that sent the shivers down even a Space Marine. "who dares awaken me and defoul my slumber, This is a holy time for the fallen Cults and armies not the weak such as you. Awaken my children." and at that point would the troops she currupted turn on there brothers, she looked at the rats "bow down to your goddess" she said looking at the minds of each rat. "all will bow down to me or die" she finished off, an evil laugh she cryed after words in the insuit of the chaos.

Plus, like you said, she's not at full power. I will see about getting that fight started soon.

ic> The firefight had become a stale-mate. Then, Sgt Ventress noticed that a few of the newer recruits stopped firing, clutching their helmets. What he saw next made no sense. They turned their guns uppon their own squad mates. Then, several skaven soldiers rushed in, looking hostile.
"Has everyone forgotten where their loyalties lie?" he asked. "Time to call in some bigger guns.

[quote/]OOC: hope you don’t mind THR if my evil goddess tricks your stupid rats or tries to anyway.[quote]
OOC: sure, I don’t mind, but, a few things you can’t do, otherwise you would have too much power…
1-they cannot sanction themselves to say, declare war or sever alliances.
2-the council of thirteen will disavow any and all knowledge of them, that is until they learn about Dahaka.
3-The skaven will not jeopardize the skaven alliance, but will gladly kill each other. (although working together they are far better)
4-the council cannot be altered, they themselves would be 80-95 on that chart Corpsac.

So, essentially these guys are to be considered a splinter faction no matter WHAT they say, until the council sorts some political what not out.

When a god tells you what to do, you gotta do it

IC: In the first volley, three squads from squad alpha were lost, chunks of bone and gristle was sprayed on the metal of the hulk. Another was lost as weapons were brought to bear, the skaven dying with feral anger on their faces. Then the power of a warpfire thrower was unleashed, its hellish green napalm filled the room, melting the metal it touched, sending poisonous fumes into the air, unfortunately, the weapon was near the rear in the last squad, and it incinerated half the squad…

A vicious snarl was ripped from the throat of a clanrat as he rammed a 6 inch steel blade in the eye port of a space marine who fell. A dozen were gunned down from close range shots, the bolters making bloody blossoms out of their chests. Here and their, the skaven would dog pile a space marine, each unloading full auto at point blank range with K-2s(the future equivalent of the AK-47).
(OOC: sorry for RP-ing your actions Gronde, but the laws of average says at least one space marine would fall down, and the guys getting swarmed could live only to smash the skaven into a wall)

Thud, thud, thud, the footsteps echoing from the hall way. A massive beast, its form consisting of rippling muscle, stitched flesh and metal. The rat ogre was stooping to fit in the massive hall way, irritated that it could not reach the combat, it simply reached up, and tore the titanium-A roof in such a way as to bring it down on top of the space marines. Thus creating a bridge, but cutting them off from combat, the skaven swarmed upstairs…

The chieftain from alpha platoon was using the far-squeaker with rapidity, “Send back up-up, now, at least a platoon if not five, bring-bring Rat ogres for boarding actions, quick-quick”

Less than ten minutes away from alpha’s position, thirty whistles were heard, followed by the thunder of over three-hundred skaven, each eager to spill blood in the name of the horned rat…

Dahaka sat watching the battle insue, she then looked at Sargent Ventress, he felt as if she was looking right into his soul.
"do you want to see what i really look like" she said in a voice only he could hear, suddenly something he saw couldnt be.
His homeworld layed waste to, building burning, gun fire all over, and he stood in the middle of it. He saw his world being destroyed not by the enemys of Gronde but by Gronde. The battle he saw was massive, He seemed to be the chapter leader of an unknown chapter and Kalgar leading another Chapter. And above that he saw her or it, Death it self (well all know what death looks like right, dude with big syth, black robes, dead) standing above the battle with wings comeing out of its back. He saw a war that could not happen or could it.
Then suddenly as if nothing happened the real world came back and not even a seconds had passed.
"thats what i am" she said "i can not die, and even if i do my children live on to carry on my work" it was still a voice only he could hear. "shore your fighting on the right side?"

"YOU WILL SURRENDER NOW" she boomed across the room "i can kill you all with out a wimper I DEMAND TO KNOW WHY YOU UNWORTHY SCUM ARE HERE AT MY AWAKENING AND DISCRASE MY SLUMBER". Her anger seemed to rise, if they didnt stop shooting she would start to fight herself as she pulled out a massive Syth with Runes of Fallen. ic> Ventress was holed up behind cover in a protected corner. Everyone else in the room was hostile at this point. Ankhmet forces were advancing on him, troops from Gronde's ally THR seemed to be hostile, and he couldn't trust his own squad at this point, who were busy shooting eachother. This left only him and Cassus's squad against everything. He layed down grazing fire with his gatling plasma gun and ducked back behind cover. He finally got a response from command.

"Command, if we don't get some support soon," said Ventress, "we are going to lose controll of this area."

The message from Ventress was answered and within a couple minute, 2 Goliath Class personal War Walkers came smashing through the entry-way. They Gauss guns straifed the entire interior, except the small part occupied by Ventress and the room containing Cassus's squad.

Meanwhile, Ventress suffered a strange and horrifying vision. Had he not been a Space Marine of that calaber, he would have been incapacitated. But his loyalty remained unshaken. Even some of his wayward squad mates came to their senses uppon seeing the two mechs smash in.

OOC: To all forces involved in this firefight - I would prefer if Katherine survived somehow, with at least a small squad via the elevator. I was hoping to have her be 'guerilla fighting' inside the hulk but that doesn't seem to be happening. Anyways if anyone has any problem with her and a small group getting away let me know. Looks more to me like a masscre. But what do you expect from a small government 'police force' anyway?

IC: Mass chaos. That was the only way Katherine could describe it. Apparently half of her men had gone crazy as they immediately turned against each other. One of the turned men was operating a Quan and began firing at the remaining sane troopers. A huge section of the floor fell off, making a huge rampway up to the cieling and at least one hundred strange rat-things swarmed up it and began tearing flesh from the group. It took Katherines brain a second to realize anything was happening and then another to process it. By this time the turned men were randomly firing shots into the 15 or so remaining 'sanes'. Katherine quickly gathered quite a bit of ammo and some weapons before she jammed her finger on the open door button. By this time 10 power cores had been wired into the elevator and she hoped that would be enough. The scientists wiring work was rewarded when the metallic elevator sprung to life and the door popped open. As yells and random rounds were thrown about Katherine dragged a few marines, the scientist and and herself onto the elevator. A few marines surrounded by rat-things cried out to wait but there was no time. Katherine jammed the bottom floor button as fast as she could and the doors closed as one marine turned his weapon and fired at the soon-to-be decending elevator. Katherine ducked and the threatening Transistor round flew over her head and bounced off the wall behind, coming to rest on the floor. Lights flickered on and Katherine took a look around in the brightest light she had seen in a few hours. Inside the elevator were the two scientists, Charlie, a Nuclear Physicist and Peter a new branch of scientist, Intronicalist, and three of her top marines, Sam, Ata, and Cody. Katherine took note of the amount of ammo inside the elevator which amounted to;

-5 plasma power cores
-2 transitor rifles
-8 transistor clips
-2 100 round 'feeds' for a Quan

This of course didn't include the ammo and weapons on the marines and with that acounted for Katherine had a small squad. However she didn't know if the departure of the ship had left her with any supplies on the actual science floor. She hoped that some was left behind, but she had no way of telling. Katherine wished that none of this had ever happened as the elevator silently plunged into the depths of the hulk.

OOC: I think we should come up with a rough idea of where everyone is, my guess from what I’ve read is:

Corridor to the far left leading to the med lab: Ankhmet
Med lab: Left side is Gronde, Center: Corpsac, all over the medlab: skaven
Above med lab: Skaven
Elevator: Soviet

That is what I’m guessing, if it’s wrong, please tell me.

Corpsac: BTW, cannon fodder is all skaven warriors are, test subjects, that’s the secondary job. Seriously, skaven won’t mind it. That is all they live in. Also, 6 skaven don’t yield productive results, but rat ogres crossed with other creatures that are combat effective. As for bowing, well, they’re doing it khorne style by killing the enemy. And a possessed skaven isn’t much good because of the damage dealt to it…

IC:
Near soviet, to the right of the medlab, outside:
“The man-things fled, but there are greater threats to be fought chieftain” the rattisar was hinting towards the sound of the mechs.

“No, we must wait for reinforcements, or else this area will be lost.”

The wait would be short, the sound of whistles and feet were echoing down two corridors away.

Above med lab:
The gunfire was muffled, but still loud. Locating the mechs, the rat ogre simply punched his way through the floor, throwing his 1,500 pound frame on top of one of them. It punched 3 foot long claws at the neck, while the equivalent of a multi-melta was fired nearly point blank at the torso of the machine.

Just above the ankhmet soldiers, the roof exploded, showering those underneath with metal shrapnel, K-2 fire ripped downwards and a lethal warpfire thrower unleashed its hellish green flames on those unfortunate enough to be there.

Inside the med lab:
The last skaven was dispatched while smashing a doom globe on a space marine’s head. But even then, his effort was not in vain, the small sphere was spinning in a circle, 5 seconds remained before a wave of warp-energy was released in a radius of 15 feet…

ooc> Alight, I will say this one more time, there are countless differences between my ships and 40k ships. Just trying to make that clear, I'm not trying to be an ass about it.

ic> As the huge fighter grouping came in for their attack, the Miehm forces opened up with a massive barrage of fire. And obvious move, they weren't just going to sit there after all. The Shining spears had gotten them this far, but now these high performance fighters turned around and headed for the LACs that stood between them and their home fleet, firing off a barrage of missiles. OOC: hahahahahaha!!!(evil laugh) Time to die!!! On a more serious note I didn't realize that your ships were not 40k inspired, I figured they were just fighters and bombers with 40k tech, my bad. You forgot the bow-walls on my ships, I love bow-walls. (by the way how many missiles did each ship fire?)

IC:

The missiles frome the enemy fighters and bombers streaked towards the fleet, the fleets extremely effective countermissiles destroyed most of the antimatter torpedoes, others were distracted by the fleets decoys, and still more were destroyed by their point defense laser clusters, but nearly 400 still made it through the barrage of fire, of the 400 remaining missiles, only half made it through the ships bow walls, the 200 that made it through wreaked havoc on the fleet, destroying an SD(p) outright, and badly mauling three others, two dreadnoughts were also badly damaged and another battleship was destroyed by the phase torpedos.

LACs

The enemy fighters had fired on them, but their point laser clusters managed to destroy most of the missiles coming at them, thew llast few were stopped by their bow and side walls, except in the case of one LAC, where the bow-wall had failed due to poor maintenance, allowing no less than five missiles to get through the walls and destroy the LAC, and the explosion from their reactor going took out 5 more, which was, thankfully, the end of their losses.

OOC: no argueing ok, Mini Miehm nothing is unpenetratable if it was its a godmod, also Mini doesnt matter how good your PDS and shields are somethings going to get though. Phase weapons depend, if its phaseing between say Warp and Real space you have to decide if warp is affected by Grav (unlucky for you Mini my Phase Torpedos get stronger with Grav since Hyperspace is effected by it).
Gronde, you know how much i hate it when people argue even if its me and you first off if you have 50 bombs/missiles on one fighter that destroy even your battleships (and i know how hard your ships are) im sorry but tone it down i know how much firepower i have to throw at your ships. 2nd torpedos are slower then missiles but carry a larger warhead meaning Gronde hes more likely to blow all your torpedos out of the water (as they say) then your missiles. Torpedos should be used at close range within there PDS minimal range.

now thats my small rant over.

ooc> Sry 'sac. Anyways, it was 50 bombers, not 50 torpedos. In our combat testing, 50 strike bombers were able to destroy a Gronde Empire Class Battleship. (hence why we never use them un-supported) Granted, only about 12 bombers made it back. And as for the missile/torpedo confusion, Harpoon torpedos are technically a missile class weapon due to they high rate of speed and shape. They are called torpedos by the Gronde navy because of their anti-armor functions. Its just a technicallity thing. They are narrow and fast, and come equiped with a flight program that makes them hard to target. They are also linked to the fighter command computer, which basically eliminates the effectiveness of decoys.

As for the grav wedges, they are not completely inpenetrable, but they might as well be. From what I have read and researched (and got from descussions with my dad and bro.) you can overload and eliminate them by applying enough firepower. But hitting them on the open areas makes more sense. (though my Warp weapons might to something interesting, but I wont say more yet.)

Miehm: BTW, I had 2000 bombers left. (not including thunderhawks) Each bomber fires 50 "torpedos" meaning there are 100,000 "torpedos" comming at you, targetted at the exposed parts of the ships. And that is only the first volly. Out of that 100,000, 10,000 of them are phase torpedos. That's a huge ammount.

So if we could finish our little descussion, delete these excess posts and continue. That would be splendid.

Last OOC: I meant the weapons targeting the LACs would be mostly destroyed, in that kind of range 1200 LACs versus approx 1500 missiles and most of the LACs will survive, the capital ships were mauled, but most survived because of the heavy bow walls and side walls of fleet capitol ships.

IC:

The ships of eight fleet were badly mauled and a few LACs had been destroyed, but now it was time to hit back. The destroyers and cruisers were the only true ships able to even compete with the fighters mobility went to max speed to try and run over the fighters with their wedges, a wedgeless ship would be destroyed on contact. As the fleets light elements accelerated the heavier ships went to max fire on their energy batteries and launched missiles at the maneuvering bombers, the pinnaces were firing their lasers as fast as possible, trying to kill the fighters to stop them from doing more damage.

LACs

The LACs were still firing their energy batteries at maximum speed inorder to destroy the fighters, they now also launched their three round ready magazines to fire off a barrage of missiles numbering near 3600 missiles towards the enemy, the fighters didn't have a chance. The Ferrets were sent against the bombers, since they were faster than the Shrikes they might be able to keep up with the enemy bombers to destroy them. They had a few of their truly massive EW missiles left, garaunteed to screw up any targeting system. The Ferrets fired.

ooc> Fine, i will let it go this time. Just keep in mind that the munitions from the bombers are designed to penetrate the armour on my capital ships, whos armor is far superior to Honorverse ships, even their side and bow walls.

ic> The bombers were doing what they could to dodge around enemy fire. They were fast, but the slower thunderhawks were getting obliterated. Even the quicker strike bombers were getting cut down. As they moved in to fire their second volly, they were down to 800 bombers. This was offset by the fact that they were much closer to they targets. They surged forward, determined to finish off the last of the dreadnoughts. They fired off another volly, the same as the first, just smaller, but closer. So it would hit faster and penetrate the armor more effectively.

The Shining spears, though outnumbered by the LACs were not having a hard time. Being the pride of the Gronde Navy, they had the most talented pilotes and were the most powerfull. As the LACs fired, they dodged and swerved, avoiding most of the fire, while destroying missiles with their photon blasters. Even when one of them got hit, it was usually offset by the "bounce" shielding, which reduced the kenetic shock and sent the fighter "bouncing" off. As they got into grips with the LACs, they were able to fire more effectively. Each team of 3 focussed their fire on one enemy until it was destroyed.

Meanwhile, inside the Hulk, the battle around the med-lab was heating up. The Grond space marines were essentially surrounded, with no allies to aid them. Being outnumbered, their only hope now were the two golliath class mechs that smashed throught the doorway, gunning down the enemy forces. Upon the arrival of a Rat Ogre, the two walkers switched thet main gauss/rail guns from rappid fire to single shot, armour percing, exploding rounds. The LACs broke off from their combat against the enemy fighters and went to maximum military power towards their CLACs, the fleet had been recalled. The dreadnoughts and other ships of the wall went to maximum military power to make the speed necessary for a hyper jump, Eighth fleet had been recalled to deal with troubles closer to home, the CLACs would be delayed in order to pick up their task groups, but even that delay would be only a few seconds before they could head for home.

"Hmm, it would appear that they are bailing out," said Ejire.
"Sir," replied his assistant Admiral. "Shall I extend the FTLi to their position and prevent them from making a hyper jump?"
"No," answered Enjire. "Just let them go."
"But sir, we could finish off their fleet now."
"We could, no doubt," Enjire agreed. "However, we don't need to. For one, it could cost of more damages, to our fighters and to our valuable capital ships. If they want to leave, then let them. Besides, Master Kalgar would not appreciate me starting hostile relations with their nation. If we force them to stay as we destroy them, we would surely be commiting an act of war. Our origional plan was simply to get them to leave. There is no reason for us to extend this engagement." Enjire looked at his intel advisor. "Casulty count?"

"Well, we lost all save 750 bombers and about half of the Thunderhawks," said the advisor gravely. "Luckily, a good number of the pilotes were able to escape and were either picked up by the thunderhawks and teleported back here. Plus, our casulties were very low amoung the Shining Spears."

"Good," said Enjire with releif. The bombers were not nearly as valuable as their skilled pilotes.

As soon as the transmission was recieved from the JJR Courier Ship, the level of activity on board the Hulk and the Indran Vessels increased exponentially. Every single SpecOPS on board the hulk stopped what they were doing and were simultaneously transported back to the vessels. With every Indran off the hulk, the many hundreds of transponders were activated that were placed throughout the hulk. Immediately following, the shield protecting the hulk was dropped and the stationary Indran Vessels flipped an immediate 180 and brought all weapons to bear on the hulk. Faster than any of the other vessels could react,Four Volleys of Fifty PSPs each launched simultaneously from each of the three vessels, each soaring through space toward the hulk. With the nature of PSPs being so small and confined, they were nonreactant projectiles that could pass through virtually anything, especially a jumbled mess of bulkheads and conduits. If there were any residual antiprotons in the reaction chambers of the collection of drift ships, they could cause secondary explosions. The PSPs reached the survace of the hulk and passed right through the hulk taking every bit of matter, antimatter and tempomatter, in their paths. They each passed through the exact point where the transponders were. Every piece of valuable component of Indran Technology as well as everything before it and after that point in space. With the targets each destroyed and the collateral damage that was sure to come, the Indran Vessels, without a word to any of the other vessels, winked out of view with a flash of light reminescent of the generation of a temporal hyperspace window.

ooc> Indra: Seeing as how you seem to have missed this, so long as my FTLi is in effect in this area, you are not going to be going anywhere. That is, unless I make an opening. The only things that could get through would be something no larger than a small Corvette. (teleporting isn't possible either unless Enjire make's a gap in the field) And given the fact that you would have just caused major damage (possibly un-reparable damage) to Enjire's "prize," without so much as warning him before you did it, your ships wouldn't be getting such a courtesy as leaving. Hell, you wouldn't even get so much as the courtesy from Enjire of not opening fire on your ships. Just in case you didn't read that part, I will give the opportunity to redo your post.

OOC: Just FYI, Temporal Hyperspace operates on a totally different level than FTL as you all know it. It creates a 'extradimensional conduit' beneath the very fabric of the Space/Time Continuum. In order to prevent the formation of a temporal hyperspace window, you would have to deploy a TFTLi, preventing such formation of windows for Temporal Hyperspace. Normal FTLi's do not interfere with our method of travel (usually). It would take some very ingenious tuning, and a very specific "frequency" that your FTLi would have to be dedicated to generating, which as far as I am aware, it does not, as that has not been used to date and the weakness has not been exploited. And with regards to the teleportation of our SpecOPS, that too requires a temporal nullification field equal or greater in level to our development in order to block them, and seeing as how no one is equal or greater to that of our own nation in this particular field, that would be quite impossible. The PSPs are not designed to make things explode, just to, erase, if that is the best word, the things in their path.

ooc> I am aware of this. My nation has dealt with Temporal technology before, and would therefore have developed ways to deal with it. Do you think that the AoN military research committy, as paronoid as they are, would want to have other nations maintain the ability to jump into our home-systems unhindered and, say, drop a star-killer or something. That was a major priority for some time.

ONBOARD SPACE HULK RETRIBUTION, Q-SPATIAL STATION
--------------------------------------------------------

The captain sat in the command chair, tapping on the arm, just waiting.
"Ensign, is our FIDF drive ready?"

"Just charged now sir. FIDF system ready for use. I assume you'll be wanting to send us back into the fray."

"You assume correctly. Estimated time to spatial damage?"

"Ten minutes, with minimal possibility of repair."

"Excellent. have the support fighter follow us in."

"Aye sir."

The massive emitters on the front of the space Hulk began to glow, emitting IDF rays at a much increased rate. the rays began to stretch and bend an area of space large enough to fit the massive hulk and it's escort of corvettes and fighters. Ten minutes later the area simply collapsed. A highly unstable gateway between Q-Space and realspace was established. Defensive drones, heavily armed swarmed around the gateway to prevent enemy access, whilst the fleet moved slowly through the portal, firing blindly at the general area.

ooc:Surely you can't block me from tearing space apart with my FTL? That's generally how mine works anyway. Screw the possible consequences, we want fast travel :D. It's like warp (WH40K style) travel, with 3 differences:
1)It's faster and safer.
2)Ankhmet has a monopoly on it.
3)It can be mapped. In fact, without a map of Q-space any ship entering is doomed.

You would have to have FTLi that can somehow block tears in space occurring in another universe, which would require knowledge of the IDF/Q-Space drive, which you can't have, because only Ankhmet does. So much for your uber FTLi.

I don't need knowledge of every single extra dimention in order for my FTLi to work properlty. That would make it preaty useless because people would just randomly pull new dimentions out of their ass to travel through. It works on the real-space level. It inhibits the effects that FTL has on real space. AKA: preventing tears, teleportions, etc from happening in real-space. In other words, if you are moving from real space, no matter where it is going to, my FTLi effects it, because the FTLi works on the real-space level. Needless to say, that my FTLi is almost useless if deployed in other dimentions.

OOC: shit, I forgot about the marines I landed on the hulk, alright an abandoned marine battle group on a space hulk, this should be fun... numbers are 1 platoon per pinnace, approximately 20 pinnaces, so 20 plattoons, of fifty men each(one plattoon is five squads, one squad is ten men), equals 1000 marines in powered armor, split into companies of 100 each, thats 100 companies, one regiment is 10 companies, so 10 regiments, each battalion is made of five regiments, so 2 battalions of marines in powered armor, makes nearly one half of a division of marines, with the firepower of a mechanized infantry division. Every ship from light cruser and up has a company of marines at least, two for heavy cruisers five for battle cruisers, battleships have a full regiment, dreadnoughts have two regiments, and SDs have a full battalion, (I think thats how the RMN divvied it up, I may be wrong, if I am I'm sure grondes brother or father will catch me on it, then I'll fix it if I am wrong) Gronde, if your family has read John Ringo's legacy of the Aldenat series then they'll know what the ACS is capable of, including the limiations of the reaper suits, if not I'll explain if you'd like, but it'll take a couple of posts to list all the abilities of the suits, and these are the "O'Niel" version, not the production model, complete with AM powerplants and all the works, including the demon motiff.

IC:

Major Pahner was in charge of a group all to large for his liking, he'd gotten a brevet colonels rank, but he still wasn't used to commanding a pocket division of marines, especially in a combat situation, but the Admiral said go, so he went, now he was trapped on this hulk and his only way home seemed to be capturing it, a division of marines should handle that easy... right, and the sun might rise in the north and set somewhere between kansas and burma, he was in for it this time, but an immediate recall precluded the chance to retrieve the marines, he was stuck.

Pahner had the company commanders meet him in the first large room they found that could hold all of them, he took awhile finding it because 250 large men in command suits don't make for good company in confined spaces, when they finally found a room large enough he got them all together and explained the situation, they were stuck here, at least until they either captured the hulk or the fleet came back for them, and their best bet was capturing the hulk, so that was what they were going to do. The Colonel split the pocket division into regimental groups, the ten groups were tasked to search and destroy, if necessary, but mostly search for the control area of this devilish thing, and hopefully commandeer it back to confederacy hands. If they failed to find the control area their task was to seek out and destroy all hostile units onboard the hulk, it was hoped at that point that their enemies would cede posession of the hulk to them, if not, well they'd just have to kill until they got the message.

OOC: Also, did you mention kinetic energy was good? And warpstone ammunition will make it interesting. But since I have no knowledge what-so-ever on honorverse, could you give me some stats please…

OOC: Kinetic explosions are your friends... well really they're mine, but you got the idea right? My grav-guns fire a DU teardrop about the size of the end of a childs pinky, the round is powered by a dollop of antimatter at its base that is detonated by shattering the containment field around the AM and allowing it to come into contact with real matter(the air) and causing the total mass of the AM and real matter to be converted to energy, propelling the round down the barrel at a very substantial fraction of the speed of light, at that speed whenever the "bullet" hits something it explodes, releasing all of the kinetic energy that it had built up into whatever it ran into.

The ACS suits are full body powered combat suits that run off of an anti-matter generator in the heavily armored back of the suit. The suits are formed of mono-molecular pieces of blasteel and plasteel, highly refractive materials capable of shedding most non-relativistic(ie. bullets and missiles, but not grav-guns, heavy railguns, HVMs, or energy weapons like plasma and laser cannons) projectiles like water. The suit is the size of the wearer and run by the suits gestalt and the weares personal AID, or artificial intelligence device, if the user is rendered unconcious the gestalt is capable of taking over and making basic battlefield decisions, like avoiding combat, providing medical treatment to the wearer, or fighting on as necessary, the reasoning and tactical decision making capabilities vary depending upon the amount of time the suit has been used because the gestalt learns and grows as it observes an actual intelligence in action, it may then call upon those past experiences to aid in assessment of current battlefield conditions and probable courses of action that are most likely to preserve the life of the person inside the suit, and consequently, its own.

The suits are all armed with a grav-gun and an assortment of hand-grenades, ranging from standard frag grenades to tank killers, all the way up to anti-matter bombs with a blast radius greater than the possible range of the suits(suit users are nearly impervious to radiation due to the semi-biotic underlayer inside the suit that cleans up radioactive particles and repairs radiation damage almost as quickly as it occurs, excessive radiation is able to overwhelm it, however the radiation required would be equivelant to detonating three bikini bombs simultaneously. The suits have over 1 million rounds of ammunition stored in ten different internal magazines, the bullets are tiny, you really can fit 1 million tiny bullets into ten small spaces rather easily, each magazine compartment has its own blow-out panel in case of a strike on the ammo, which would all sympathetically detonate and destroy the suit otherwise.

The suits melee weapons are dual under-arm boma blades, mono-molecular steel blades that are incredibly sharp, like a mastercraft chainsword only better. The suits appearance is really going to piss off the space marines, they are the size of a person, but that's about the only similarity betwen them and the people inside them, they look like green painted alien demons, with claws on their hands, not bladed claws, just pointy if you get my meaning, and a head with monstrous fangs and pointed demonic ears that reach nearly a full foot over the head of the suit, while the fangsa nearly touch its chest, it is covered in holograms of swirling, almost celtic, patterns and ports, so that it appears that if it were surrounded it would just start blasting things indiscriminately, to that end it has flame throwers embedded beneath the wrists and various points on the chest and legs, it is also capable of launching grenades up to 300 yards from dual shoulder mounted 40mm launchers, they're horrendously expensive and worth every penny(worth over three million exponential functions each, equal to about 6 million dollars).

Also waiting on Gronde to wake up, my plan requires somebody else to run into my guys, not the other way around, if it's the other way around then I can't really use my whole story arc that I came up with for this.

OOC: Who to be found by? The drones or the marines I just can't decide, oh well, when in doubt pick both.

Major Pahner:

"Colonel" Pahner was leading his original command, the Carnan regiment, towards the interior of the hulk to find the control room for this damned ship, he had sent two regiments along the outer edge running from left to right and two more running along the hulks vertical axis, each of those groups was paralleled by one regiment on each side, either above and below or to the left and right depending on their axis, of the main force to prevent flank attacks.

The major had been forced to split the remaining regiment in half to cover his forces, so as he headed towards the center of the hulk he was only covered by five companies left and right of his regiment, any of those companies could be to him in less than a minute through the simple expedient of blowing a hole through the wall with their terrawatt lasers or heavy grav-cannons, but their true purpose was to go around any force that his regiment encountered and hit them from the rear in order to surprise them and split their attention between two forces.

The majors party advanced towards the center of the hulk, unaware of what lay ahead because the sophisticated sensor of their suits were going haywire, detecting things that weren't visible or emmiting radiation in any spectrum, including UV or IR.

Horizontal regiments:

The regiments tasked with searching the outer horizontal shell of the hulk were paralelled above and below by a regiment on each side, like with Pahners group their main purpose was to prevent flanking and to assault any enemies they encountered, unfortunately they would be forced to blow through the ceiling or floor to get to the other regiments, but that wasn't an issue, that's what terrawatt lasers are for, and anti-landre heavy grav-cannon, they exist only to make really big holes in stuff, so it shouldn't be an issue, unless a laser had some of what the manufacturers had termed "secondary issues"... but it was best not to think like that, best to just search the hulk and get home as soon as possible.

Vertical regiments:

The regiments tasked to search the vertical axis of the hulk would have a hard time of it, since they had to go up and down to get places they were limited to using lifts or the aforementioned expedient of blowing holes in things, since they were looking for the control room they decide that blowing holes in celings was a bad ide, since it could destroy the controls they were looking for, that meant a new expedien was necessary, specifically their boma knives would be used to cut holes in the ceilings and they would fly through under the combination of anti-grav and impellers, hopefully this would prevent them from destroying the controls they sought.

OOC: Energy as in beam weapons, I've never tested them against warp energy, assuming that the warp powered weapon is not above about .1c (one tenth of lightspeed) they should be able to mitigate the effects, not gonna be able to stop it, but it'll hurt less, if the energy is in a beam, like a laser or plasma cannon then the shields won't be able to stop it.

Bullet speed is approximately .3c, below lightspeed but still a very respectable velocity, since he would interfere with FTL, not sub-light weapons I think the effects would be minimal, but maybe not, only one way to find out wether it'll do anything or not and thats to start shooting, but that hopefully won't be required.

The Pods slamed into the Hulk now that the Indra field had fallen, but something made the Chaplins fear the hulk.
"A Fallen God" Chaplin Shush said, turning on her Comm to the Fleet she spoke again "Commander, we have a fallen god here. I recomend we deteach and blow it out of the water we can not let it escape, if the Gronde Empire take it back who knows what it would do to them."
"Vary well" the Commander replyed on the bridge of the ship, "contact the Gronde Ships, since they lay claim to this we will have to respect there wishes. Tho if they decided to take it back even with our warning the Empress will shun all trade with them. Warn them that if they decided to take this hulk with the Fallen God on it the Dark Empire will cut all ties and see them as hostile till we see the god dead."
The Marine at the comm station nodded and started to send the message.

To:the highest Ranked Officer of the Gronde fleet
From: The Fallen Hunters

Its come to our attenion that a Fallen god is on that hulk, this is a bad sign and the hulk must be destroyed to prevent the spread of the fallen. If you decided not to destroy this in the hope to destroy the fallen god then the Empire will see this as an act to help our gratest foe and all trade will be cut and your nation shuned and not trusted.
It will also be good to tell you that we will not be the only ones who know this, more then likely a fleet of Fallen are gathering in hyperspace and now that the Indra Prime ships have left are more then likely to attack. They wont stop till they get there god meaning your Empire will be attacked no matter where you hide the hulk, the god will be like a bright light in hyperspace impossible to hide.

This is your only warning.

The pods right after braching the hull of the hulk left without a troop setting foot on it, when the pods left small Fusion Charges went off sealing the hull breaches and doing a rather annoying bit of damage to the hull.

Each ship turned with its guns ready to fire on the hulk, they didnt care but would still respect the wishes of there allies even if it was there last wish of the Dark Empire.

Decideding the fire fight was dull as rounds and energy rounds melted in her Psi Field she faded away hiding in the deepest part of the hulk to regain all her power, she knew even if they destroyed the hulk she would be fine but hoped it would be taken back. And for that reason when she faded back in her tomb room she sat regaining her strength and started to formed a massive Curruption field that would spain the entire hulk and several Km out of it in a few hours hopeing to convinced someone it was a good idea to take it back to a populated area.

ic> Enjire was monitering the proceedings in his controll room when he got the message from Corpsac.
"Hmm, this isn't good," said Enjire. "This "Dahaka" must be more formidable than what we have seen so far."

"What do we do now, then?" asked Chapter Master Kalath. "We can't just leave it. How would we explain this to the boss? We just mobilized a very large naval force, go into a space skirmish with a sovereign nation, and build up a massive capital cost. He is going to expect us to come back with something."

"You are right, my associate," agreed Enjire. "Bur Corpsac is one of our most powerfull allies. The history our nations have is very deep. My great, great, grandfather had dealings with them. Kalgar would not be pleased if we were responsible for ending relations with Corpsac."

"Maybe there is another way," said Kalath. Enjire looked with interest. "We could destroy this wretch here and now, before we take the Hulk back home."

"I like it. Plus, we could make sure that we are prepared to blast the Hulk into oblivion in case something does go wrong."

"Very well. I will leave you to work this out with the Corpsacians, you were always the best at diplomacy. I will land on the Hulk my self."

Meanwhile, Captain Lysander II led his men to intercept the forces that had been identified has Miehm forces left behind. As he moved into position, he recieved a status report from Kalath, telling his exactly what was going on.

"Sargent Ryker," said Lysander.
"Sir?"
"Tell your men to hold up, I am going to try to prevent a fight with the Miehm forces."
"Yes, sir."

They are currently moving upwards via a large elevator shaft which continues until 2 floors below the Dark God's position. From there, they will split up and gaurd the two levels below her and prevent her from escaping by going down. Above her, there is are 6 Terminators, about 20 snipers, and 3 combat dreadnoughts; they will prevent her escape from above. Also, we have in place a powerfull FTLi, which will make her escape much more difficult. ooc> I swear, how many fu**ing times and in how many different threads am I going to have to explain this? I don't need knowledge of every single extra dimention in order for my FTLi to work properlty. That would make it preaty useless because people would just randomly pull new dimentions out of their ass to travel through. It works on the real-space level. It inhibits the effects that FTL has on real space. AKA: preventing tears, teleportions, etc from happening in real-space. In other words, if you are moving from real space, no matter where it is going to, my FTLi effects it, because the FTLi works on the real-space level. Needless to say, that my FTLi is almost useless if deployed in other dimentions.

ooc> Actually, FTL travel in real space is not possible. (I can go into the science behind it later if you want)

Anyways, indeed you could make a tear with brute force, but it would need to be enough force and energy to overwhelm my FTLi emmiters. And that, my friend, is quite a large ammount. Besides, even if you did have the capabilities to generate that kind of force, trying to make a tear that way does bad things for dimentional balance and will likely have very adverse effects on the ships trying to make the tear. So yes, brute force is preaty much the only way around it, but it is likely more force than your ships have in that area. (let alone the safety measures to open a tear safely while dealing with so much extra resistance) I have only one machine that is powerfull enough to overwhelm most FTLi systems safely, and that is part of the largest space fortress complex in the alliance of Naggaroth.

Even if you broke his FTLi and i saw the tear i would just activte a real Barrier and that would seal real space from all other forms of space and unnatral effects (artifical black holes, artifical worm holes etc) pritty much the only things that can be used are basic ship to ship weapons (no warp cannons or other weapons that use energy from another dimention).

If you think his FTLi is nasty its nothing compared to mine.

IC:

Just behind the CorpSacian ships a large group of tears riped space open as licks of energy surged out. then suddenly ships apeared, in total about 90 ships and 100s of fighters.
The Fallen space marine Battlebarges opened fire on the CorpSacian ships with some unknown weapons never seen befor, riping them apart in less then 3 minutes. the Fallen ships ignored all others even tho the Gronde ships were part of the CorpSacian/Gronde Empire, they moved right towards the Hulk. A simple message was sent out stay out of our way or you will meet the same fate as the CorpSacians. The fallen Cult ships (DESC ships, eg the tigerclaw destroyers etc) moved to protect the tears as fighters escorted each ship.

The 3 Fallen Battlebarges fired mutiple Breaching pods at the hulk, the pods contained eaither troops, Psikers, Chaplins, Dreadnoughts and Terminators all to make shore Dahaka lived and she knew this.

"ahh they have come" she said looking up suddenly turning into her true form, Black cloak, Syth, Massive wings, Blood red eyes in the sockets of the skull.
She walked out of her lair sending a small fire ball that destroyed the room after a sword flew onto her back.
Her power was nearly competely back and she wanted to get back to the gathering followers. She felt the death they delt to the CorpSacians, she waited sending a telepathic becon so the fallen would find her.

ooc> We do, of coarse, contantly debate these things. It is all part of our two nation's histories to be competative with our arms. Lol. And as for the Warp Cannons, if I actually had any here, I would simply switch on the energy converters. So long as the ship's hull is intact, the perminent portal would stay open within the ship and the cannon system would simply convert the Warp energy into plasma or the like.
Anways, how did the fallen get so close considering what it was we were just talking about. (And as we have talked about before, even if you do break through, you will be slowed down majorly and your pressence detected)
I am assuming that your fleet was far enough away to be outside the field. (which gives me some time to react) So I will RP accordingly.

And did you forget about Shayde attacking Dahaka? I will worry about that after you take care of that.

ic> "Admiral Enjire!" a staff officer ran onto the bridge. "90 ships have just entered the area outside of our field. Just behind the Corpsac postion."

"Can we identify them?" inquired Enjire.

"Fallen ships, and powerfull ones," the officer replied. "They have already cut through the Corpsac fleet."

"Very well, dismissed," Enjire turned to his command staff. "We need to act quickly, they are closing in on the Hulk. If they make it, the damage could be catostrophic."

"I have already ordered the Tac fighters, heavy bombers, tac bombers and the rest of the strike bombers, thunderhawks, and Shining spears to intercept them," said the Vice Admiral. "They are disembarking from the carriers now. The wave consists of about 10,000 fighters and it will need to be supported by Cobra strike ships and Hunter destroyers."

"Done," Enjire affirmed. "Move the rest of the fleet into a firing position to hammer their fleet as the fighters approach. Most of our forward guns should out range them. Inform the Space Marine fleet that we need them to assault the Fallen fleet while the rest of the plan is unfolding."

"Very well. Also Admiral, the forces on the Hulk's exterior are preparing for the Fallen's inevitable landing."

"Prepare the opening in the field for an Obsidian Class Superfortress to come through. If things heat up, we may need the firepower."

"Yes sir."
*******

The entire Naval grouping moved fluidly like a well oiled machine. Each part did exactly what it was supposed to. Every fighter bay in both fleets was being emptied as squadron after squadron formed up and sped off to attack the Fallen. The Imperial Navy ships formed up into a defencive firing position with their arch of fire stretching over the Fallen's path. As the enemy closed in, they delivered volly after volly of fire, from everything from Rail cannons to Nova cannons. The Space Marine fleet charged forward, heavy assualt weapons ready to fire.

On the surface of the Hulk, the defence forces had already set up anti-landing weapons. These guns combined with mines, hammerhead fighters, and space mechs would make any landing very costly without heavy naval support from larger ships. . . And with a force outnumbering the Fallen over 5:1 between the Fallen and the Hulk, that was not likely to happen for some time. The defencive missile batteries had already started targeting the enemy landing pods.

Overall, Enjire was farely confident that a victory could be achieved. Although the Fallen ships had already proven to be immensely powerfull, they were vastly outnumbered and Gronde's ships, even the older ones, were not pushovers.

Admiral Hamish Alexander was prepared for an assault by the fallen, he had ordered his forces to roll ship and impose their impenetrable gravitic stress bands between themselves and the enemy forces, since he could fire his missiles off-axis he was at very little disadvantage, in addition they had re-entered space very near where they left it. Now Admiral White-Haven sent a short transmission that seemed to go nowhere, however, the message was not directed at any ship, instead it had been directed at the missiles they had left behind when they left the area previously(OOC: reference my posts before Grondes first strike against my ships for where the missiles come from).

The heavy missiles were almost all stand-off range laser warheads, but a few were massive contact range fusion weapons, weapons exceeding the measurement of megatonnage and going into 1.3 gigatons for explosive force, they were shipkillers, massive, fast, and they blew up in a very big way if they ran into anything. Upon recieving their pre-programmed launch code the first wave of missiles activated, nanoseconds later the second wave activated, further nanoseconds after that the third wave activated, the missiles formed triangular formations, one EW bird to every two actual weapons in the missile swarm, now they sped towards their enemies with deadly purpose, even fallen weren't invulnerable, this many missiles would kill at least one of the enemy ships, likely more, but at least one.

ooc> I'm not sure if you were going after the Imperial Navy fleet or the Space Marine Fleet, so I will do what I always do and assume what makes sense. Seeing as how it is the Space Marine ships moving in close for the attack, I will assume that you are going after them at this point.

Note: the outer surface of the Hulk is similar to that of an actual planet.

ic> The forces positioned on the Hulk's surface were fully prepared to recieve the Fallen. Laser batteries and missiles opened fire on the drop pods, Hammerhead fighters flew overhead to bomb enemy vehicles, and space mechs and marines moved in to surround the various pockets of enemy troops, firing at whatever target there was. Gronde forces were outnumbered in most of the landing sights, but they had the advantage of defencive infrastructure and entrenched defenders. The Fallen wouldn't be going anywhere fast, leaving the interior task forces plenty of time to finish off Dahaka.

Deep within the Hulk's interior, an epic clash was about to begin. Shayde stepped up to Dahaka, force blades in hand. Meanwhile, a space marine sniper placed his aim on the Dark Goddess. His rifle had enough power to penetrate a Land Raider's armor and possessed munitions that used the same technology as force weapons. He locked onto Dahaka and fired a shell right into her back a fraction of a second before Shayde made her first attack, right at Dahaka's throat.

Out in space, the Space Marine fleet was in a deadly slug-fest with the Fallen. Several ships had already been wiped out, but the hardy marines were giving it back just as hard. The Imperial fleet was hanging back, providing major fire support, taking accurate shots at large enemy capital ships. The fighters swarmed over the Fallen fleet, supported by Hunter Destroyers who were currently screening the enemy fighters.

ooc> I have two identical battle barges in the space marine fleet. One is the command ship, the other isn't. Are you going to target the Barge on the right or the one on the left? As the missiles sped towards their targets eighth fleet began to move, they didn't advance towards the fallen ships, instead they maneuvered to put the fallen between them and the Gronde fleets, more help might be on the way, but it would most likely be a day late and a dollar short, even admiral Helmut wasn't on time every time, and he couldn't have recieved his movement orders until an hour before they had returned from hyperspace, Helmut would get there, it was merely a question of wether or not his sixth fleet would arrive in time to be of any help.

Eighth fleets CLACs were punching their LAC squadrons as fast as possible, they had been reloaded and the damaged ships had been repaired as best they could be in the time available, the ferrets weren't going out this time, instead heavy EW shrikes were sent in their place, like the combat shrikes they mounted the heavy graser and missile armaments of a fighter, unlike the other shrikes theres were a very different sort of missile, massive, dirty, nasty, nukes, not fusion heads, fission weapons, designed to put out as much radioactive material as possible, they had very unpleasant effects on sensors, especially when the enemy wasn't prepared for something like they were about to do.

The SD(p)s were already unloading their cavernous holds of missile pods and distributing them to the fleet, the enemy would never know what hit them when eighth fleet flushed their missile pods and nearly three million missiles filled the space around the hulk.

OOC: Fine...grumble..make me type...grumble...

IC: Command was being as effective as...well skaven command.

Contact with all the dispatched platoons had been lost, which indicated death.
The captain in command of the vessels, was ready and willing to get the hell out.

"We got what we came for, and apparently if the enemy can take out six or so platoons that quickley, then...we need to exit and get reinforcements."

One of his ass-kissing lackies spoke up, "Excellent leadership sir, your brilliance will lead us to future victories."

"That's right, it will, have all ships set their skitteleap engines to go off in one minute and take us back to a fuel depot. The Nurglitch(Da big carrier) can find its own way home."

Fortunatly, the admiral had tagged each ship with listening devices, so he knew the captain was preparing to bail...and took appropriate measures. Like for instance, sending a message to the council claiming how Ikskit had declared himself "Above the rule of the horned rat". That would put the cowardly captain trial in some alley with a shadowy figure wieldy a cruel looing blade.
The admiral smiled a crocidile grin as he listened to the rising hum from the skitter leaper...

Inside the hulk:
Clips of ammunition were unloaded into shadows as the skaven fired at shadows. All adversaries and their new source of worship had long left, but they hadn't noticed. Until they were reloading and noticed something missing... enemy fire.

A lieutenant started to yell "At last, we have achieved victory over the infidels, we have cleansed this area of all unbelievers for our goddess. Let us continue our holy crusade YAAAHHHH!"

And for some reason, all the other skaven started yelling and running after him. Little did they realize that it would simply take them back to were their ships had been...

ooc> I think you forgot about my forces. Oh well. This should be funny with the two mechs comming around the corner to ruin their day. Vahahaha.

Seeing as how everyone else in that area is not posting, I will simply assume that they were eliminated.

ic> The fighting in the first area of the chamber had died down. The two Goliath Mechs gunned down the enemies quite effectively. Now there was simply the traitor Skaven that needed to be slain. The two war walkers stomped around the corner and opened fire into the Skaven whom were now running off somewhere.

As the MM missiles swarmed towards fallen ships, fighters near the ships moved to intercept opening fire with missiles and other weapons. swooping in and out and around the missiles but even the fighters couldnt take them all.
On the hull of all the ships small ports opened and Chain Turrets poped out, spinning there barral and moveing around fireing at the missiles. Not all the ships would make it as some ships were pounded by missile fire, shilds fell and even the Endor Armors would not save them.

Shinzu, the worse thing ever to be made by the Dark Empire that wanted to wipe out all that stood in her way. It was fitting that her children would be with the fallen and it showed that the war coming would be hard vary hard.

The commander of attack group of the Mini Miehm side was annoyed, "FIRE SKIPPER MISSILES AND TORPEDOS" he shouted fuming. At the point just under 30 missiles and 20 torpedos came shooting out of the attack group, one minute it was there another it wasnt. they apeared and disapeared at random intervals. The 1 to 3 Gigaton Fusion warheaded weapons skipped from one reality to another, a reality just a fraction out of fase with ours.
More torpedo fire and missile fire came from the ships as a standard salvo of Fusion, anti matter and Fission missiles and torpedo swarmed towards them.
Brakeing ranks the ships moved at flanking speed they cared not of what came behind or in front close range was the place to be. IT also ment that the muti missile systems could be used now that they had been imporved.

On the Gronde side the Imperial ships were being a pain in the arse, the only reinforcements the fallen had was about 20 ships in hyperspace and they were only to be used if really needed. Suddenly just as a destroyer went up followed by a few covettes a small task force includeing the Heavy Cursier broke away from the main group, fireing decoys and the Cruiser activateing its sensor jammers as it went to flank the Space marine fleet in a daring attempt to get round them and smash into the imperial ships.
The other ships moved closer and closer as fighters clashed with each other and ships were soon to be noise to noise, just how the Fallen liked it.

Dahaka smiled just as the sniper pulled the trigger she turned her head and smiled at him, she moved with such speed and grace. The next fraction of a seconds she was right up to the sniper looking down his barral. "Boo" she said as she push the rifle with such force that it crushed his skull and right though his brain poping out the otherside. she turned and shouted at Shayde "Honor is something you lack, just like this carcase". She started to walk towards Shayde stairing directly at her/him (cant remember) she was laughing all the way as if mocing Shayde.

OOC: your fighters and close defense systems just destroyed over 3000 missiles, outside of 2500 kilometers from your ships, I find that hard to believe. Oh well, I'll give it to you this time, but you're gonna take a beating when I flush my pods.

IC:

Admiral White-haven almost immediately realised what the incoming objects were, phasing weapons, well only one way to stop those, since the fleet was still outside the FTLi envelope he decided that the best course of action would be to waitr until the missiles were about to impact, then go to hyper, under those conditions his fleet would probably avoid most of the damage. The admiral also ordered the fleet to go to fank speed towards the FTLi, he would be able to go to hyper once he hit .3c and after the misiles had passed he could return to real space and charge into the melee developing around the hulk.

The LACs were well inside the FTLi envelope, they were also able to bring their anti-missile systems to bear against the oncoming skipper missiles, and conventional weapons, as they reached the proper range their counter-missile batteries opened fire, quickly followed by their point laser clusters because of the speed they were going they would only get the one shot at those misiles heading towards the fleet.

After passing the enemy missiles the Ferrets continued on towards the fallen ships, acquiring targeting solutions and charging their deadly graser mounts once they reached the one light minute range limit on their missiles they would open fire on the fallen ships, then the real weapons would fly a minute later, after the missile engagement they planned to splinter and peck the fallen to death with their grasers.

OOC: O come on, if they die, then I'll have no way of coming back when/if the situation stabilizes. So I'll say you end up running into a rear guard/skirmishing group of idiots who got spun around and headed back towards the medlab.

IC: The small group of 30 or so clanrats didn't even slow as the first squad was cut down. On lookers could watch as the skaven beliefs were soon warped even further, some were bellowing out war cries for things that didn't make sense, like the Kalgar or the Ankhemet Empire. But even then, the misplaced worship fueled them. Second squad was almost gone as they were rushing the machines, but now they were almost able to touch the mechs.

The last survivor of 2nd squad, a sergeant of some name and standing, had the glow of some deity, good or ill. The light of power came from every pore, every bullet hole as he primed and threw...a doom globe. None, save the mechs and sergeant, seen the slight modifications to this globe.

While most doom globes are designed to release warp-energy, this used warp-energy to drag objects to the warp, they had even managed to make sure it landed on a daemon world, although which is impossible to control.

My fighters and PDS didnt take out over 3000 missiles as if i did that i wouldnt have lost any ships, my Armor is most likely the best around since when i devloped my ships at first they never had shields. Hard shields are basicly a new layer of armor around the ship useing heat to solidify the Gas around them (space is full of gas) but thats weak.

This is my armor (|:|):
Endor Crystal Mesh (ECM):
Advantages:
Reflects 37% of Beam Weapons
Absorbs 21% of energy weapons
2x stronger then Endor
High melting point

Disadvantages:
3x heavier then earth based metals
Takes 18% more damage from projectile weapons
Hard to graft onto armour
Ships need to use more power when within a Gravity field

Endor Armor(||):
Advantages:
3x stronger then any Earth Metal
13% less damage from most Projectile weapons
High melting point

Disadvantages:
3x heavier then earth metals
Ships need to use more power when within a Gravity field

Endor Slik Crystal Mesh (|::|):
Advantages:
Reflects 18% of Beam Weapons
Absorbs 19% of energy weapons
Takes 14% less damage from Projectile weapons
High melting point

Disadvantages:
Costly
Hard to make

the way that its layered on my ships is like this:
|||:||::|||
|||:||::|||
Basicly a layer of Endor, then ECM and then ESCM and a final layer of Endor. my armor is meters thick unlike most peoples whos armor is most likely half that of mine but my ships are slow even the Frigates and assult ships.

OOC: And the fact that you don't know my power is most likely going to be your undoing, they're the best I know of, an SD(p) has equipment about like this(numbers are off the top of my head, too lazy to check):

Armor: minimal, monomolecular iron, with monomolecular steel backing

Shielding\propulsion: Military grade impeller wedge capable of producing up to 600 gravities of acceleration, as a shield it stops anything less powerful than a blackhole, only shields the top and bottom of the ship, ends are open during movement and braking.

Sidewalls: weaker than the impeller wedge, protects the flanks of the ship, capable of distorting powerful energy weapons to a mediocre extent(like my shipboard grasers and lasers), stopping weak energy weapons(like those from my missiles), and stopping all contact weapons(you have to bring it down, then you pound the ship to scrap with contact nukes), also acts as radiation shielding for the ship.

Bow wall: Like the sidewalls, only more powerful, and its use prevents any major maneuvers with the grav-drive, maneuvers while the bow wall is up must be made with the emergency reaction thrusters.

Energy weapons: one 30 cm spinal mount graser, two 20 cm spinal mount grasers, twenty grasers, ten to each flank, ten grasers as a chase armament, along with energy torpedos

Missile tubes: twenty on each flank, with ten spinal mount, and twenty more as chase armament.

They're powerful ships, and that's not even the flag-ship, it's had some modifications that I'll reveal later.

ic> With the level of anti-fighter weapons systems that came with the Space Marine fleet cutting into the enemy fighters, they were able to concentrate their main guns onto the Fallen Battle Barge. The two Space Marine Battle Barges fired off volly after volly into the Fallen Barge with their main cannons. The other ships in the fleet also continued to focus their fire onto the first Fallen Battle Barge. (The middle one on the chart)

The fighter group flew past the two barges on either side of them and went strait for one of the Fallen ship formations, fireing off a preliminary torpedo volly.

The Imperial fleet turned all of its fire onto a new target, the Fallen task force moving in to flank their fleet.

Meanwhile, the gap in the FTLi field was finished and a portal was made. Emerging from the massive portal was a fortress equally massive; the dreaded Obsidian Class Superfortress. ooc> I think it's reasonable to assume that about 30 pods made it in to the Hulk, considering the surface defences.

ic> In the Hulk theatre, 30 enemy breaching pods penetrated the hull. Imperial infantry was sent in immediately, with the support of mechs and vehicles.

"General Zhukov," said Space Marine captain Uriel. "Have your taken care of the enemy breaching pods?" Even though the equivilent value of their ranks were about the same, there was a sense of fear and respect comming from the Imperial Officer towards the marine.

"Yes, my men have surrounded all 28 impact sites," the captain replied. "We have enough men and machines meeting each pod to eliminate their passengers with ease."

"All 28, you say?" the marines face turned into a snear of desgust. "There were 30 impacts!"

"What d-do you mean? Thirty?"

"Insolent fool!" Uriel grabbed the General by the neck and through him against the wall. He walked into the next room, 1 of his lieutenants were waiting for him. They had all heard the exchange and did not want to anger their commander further. "Get your men ready."

"Sir?"

"There are still 2 pods un-accounted for. Send two of your four squads to each one. I do not know how many are in each pod, but you must try to hault them until support can be aquired."

"Yes sir!"

Within a minute 2 squads were sent to each of the impact sites of the last remaining pods.

OOC: grrrr i didnt want to do this but its the only way that my barges (a key part of the fallen wars) can make it.

IC:

"heavy damage on port side, Hanger 4 reports unable to open bay doors...." the report from the fallen marine carryed on on the bridge of the Camarilla.
Warmaster Hetac looked glum, "vary well order the barges to do it, contact the other and tell them of the problem with that fortrass."

The Barges suddenly stoped fireing and started to glow red, at the same time the main cannon of the OCS hit the Kiltrax. Suddenly half the ship was riped away just as the glow came to full power, on all the ships sat there not fireing and allowing as much fire from the enemy to come as it liked not passing though the field.

"how long will the ships be able to hold this up?" Hetac asked a techmarine.
"the Kiltrax, 20-30 minutes. The Camarilla and Fallen just under an hour." the tech marine replyed looking up "and they are to arrive shortly."

on the far side of the Hulk where no ships layed a massive tear formed taller then the other one just over 18km high and wide. Then it apeared just as the tear vanished, a Fallen RavenCorp Super mothership in mecha mode. The most powerful ship ever built by the Dark Empire with more then anougth firepower to level a planet alone.

"CONTACTING ALL GRONDE SHIPS AND THERE DOGS, CALL OF YOUR ATTACK APON THE FALLEN SHIPS OR THE SPACE HULK WILL BE DESTROYED YOU HAVE 1 MINUTE TO COMPLY" a voice boomed over all channels.

The SHRCs had locked on to the hulk, and with the speed and short distance the round would have to go they would pass though easyly and out the otherside. 1 round would tear though the gronde imperial ships then into the OCS and the other round into the Fallen Cultist ships near the tear. It was a fair price to pay after all Dahaka would survie such an attack and able to get to a ship if needed.

OOC: for those who dont know HSBS shielding basicly makes an area of reality around the ship fold into hyperspace meaning all things hitting it are sent into hyperspace. This takes a massive drain on the ship and can only be up for no longer then an hour but takes days to recharge, downside is that the ship cant fire out but that dont stop them from ramming something a watching it get sucked into hyperspace.
SHRC is a Super Heavy Rail Cannon, and well fires a solid Endor Slug at near light speed (about the size of a small house), it worked out that the weapon could do 1 of 3 things to the planet (or a combination of 2 of the 3) knock it off its orbit, change its Axis or go right though a planet depending on how dence it was.

OOCF: that shields a fucking godmod, it has to have at least one waekness or point where penetration can occur, or there has to be a way to overload it, or something(you get the idea)

IC:

Admiral White-haven knew they were bluffing, if they destroyed the hulk they'd destroy Dahaka as well, and they wouldn't want to do that.

Eighth fleet continued on its course towards the FTLi barrier, when they were one kilometer from the barrier they transitioned into hyper, and, seconds later they transitioned back, they'd succesfully avoided the various dimensional shifting missiles, and now they could go to full power and get in range to flush their missile pods.

OOC: Would you like me to detatch some forces to deal with one of the pods while your guys deal with the other one? All you have to do is ask, I'll send Iron Mike and the 555 MI battalion(yes battalion, I'd use a whole battalion on a single breaching pod, because I believe in overkill to an extreme degree).

ooc> Miehm, as much as I appreciate the offer, your men are would never get there in time. They are in a completely different area.

Well, I have an easy way to deal with the HSBS. All I need to do is concentrate the power flow to the FLTi field to only the areas around the ships with the shielding, thus overpowering any anti-FTLi that is keeping the HSBS on, and deactivating it. And you do realize that the OCS's main cannon can literally blow a planet to pieces? It would be capable of taking your mothership with one, or maybe two, well placed full length shots.
But keep in mind that I deliberately left two pods with only two marine squads accounting for them. This leaves it open for one of them to have something blast its way through. Dahaka, while probobly not stong enough to kill Shayde quickly, she is more than capable of running off while our people are talking.

ic> Enjire and his command staff looked on his shock as the blast from the OCS failed to destroy its targets. Thankfully, he knew, from experience, exactly what to do about it.

"Rerought all power from the FTLi generators to only the sectors occupied by ships with that shielding!" Enjire shouted to his staff. "It's not doing us any good against the fallen when it's spread out like this anyways." Almost immediately, the potency of the FTLi around the Fallen ships increased 20 fold. Even if the HSBS was 4 times more potent than it was the last time Gronde encountered it, the level of FTLi applied would be more than enough to neutalize is.

Enjire was about to order a renewed volly and assault when they revieved the message from a Fallen mothership which had just appeared on the far side of the Hulk. The OCS immediately circled around to meet the enemy behemoth.

**Response to Fallen from Enjire**
It appears that you are in no position to be making such demands. If you attempt to destroy the Hulk, your fleet and mothership will be destroyed as well. As will your "Goddess." Your fleet is outnumbered, surrounded, defenceless, and trapped. Your mothership is no match for the firepower of the Obsidian Class Superfortress. We know of your intentions here. What makes you think we will allow you to retrieve your Goddess? What is in if for us?

ooc> I am currently lining this up to possibly get Kalgar really pissed at Enjire, who knows nothing of Kalgar's marital status with the Empress of Corpsac. That is assuming the Fallen want to try "buying" Dahaka. That is simply opening up another option.

OOC: normaly yes my HSBS have massive weakness's, for one they cant be used within a FTLi field, 2nd they can be overloaded with repeated attacks and lastly shields and weapons of the ship dont work till the field is down. But since im trying to save 2 of the 3 battlebarges and i didnt expect there to be fleets of ships around im having to bend my own rules with this, i thought there was only a few ships so i sent dubble what i thought there was otherwise i would have sent in 2 Full fallen Fleets and 1 Fallen Cult fleet. Since the 2 barges are needed for the fallen war i need to safeguard them and this is how i doing it.

Gronde the only way your OCF can get a lock onto the Mothership is by going though your hulk, im willing to blow the hulk away since i know Dahaka will live and is able to get onto a ship (shes a goddess she just leaves her body that then turns to dust and takes a new one). plus remember all things fallen (not fallen Cult) are more powerful, so the mothership is still a match for that OCF (just).

IC:

Sparks were flying off the 2 SHR Cannons as the power reached full strength, thick black and red bolts of lightning shot off the barral of the cannon as the final fireing salution was taken in.
"Contact the gronde fleet and there dogs, order them to stand down or we will destroy the hulk and anything in the path of the SHRC." he ordered, Grand warmaster Malcave said, the once proud Premarch of the Camarilla Chapter Legion now a twisted evil man in his powered armor. Behind him he had the power of over 7 million Space marines and 100,000s Cultists he had the army he needed to walk over the Galaxy.

Gronde ships this is your last chance, stop or we will fire

The 2 of the 3 barges started to move away moveing towards the Tear as all the fallen ships but a few pulled back. The final barge had turned and went at full speed towards the OCF, has weapons fire pounded into it it carryed on till finialy the bubble shields fell and weapons fire slamed into the hull of the ship. Its own weapons came online and opened fire but it was to late as the ship exploded as its Reactors went critical, a faint signal was picked up by a few ships with the simple words.
"death to the hertic, the mutant and the Alien"

On the ships meny of the Marines were held down but the Imperial guard were no match, since meny pods had dreadnoughts in them. The dreadnoughts equiped with heavy flamers and Chainguns were first to come out the pods as they opened fire. The marines behind them swarmed out, 10 in each pod opening fire with Plasma bolters and Flamers some getting the rage and running into Close combat.

The other 2 pods landed close together as the Chaiplin and is men came out along with in the other pod 2 Dreadnoughts and 10 Tactical Marines.
"move out kill anything that moves, Dahaka will come" the chaplin said, looking round and locking in a fresh clip into his gun after killing a few shocked imperial guardmen. The dreadnoughts followed looking round with its termal imaging, nothing would stop them getting what they wanted.

The other marines were still pinned down, so meny marines would be ok but still, even as there round toar though the Imperial guardmen, limbs all over the place. The marines wanted a real challange not a blood bath, but it would do as a good greating for the God of death. But still the idea of fighting Space marines gave them even more reason to fight, they wanted to wipe out the filth that walked on there gods birth place.
A dreadnought had grabed a Imperial guardsmen in its claw crushing its head then impaling the body on a spike on its arm, grabbing more and bashing others with the dead bodies, some were torn apart as the dreadnought swang it round, blood and guts went all over the place. Fallen marines with no helmet lifted there head and opened there mouth as the blood covered them, but still the pushed on with few marines wounded and those who were dead were fallen Scout marines.

Dahaka noticed this as she was fighting the mortal that thought it could win, she smiled looking at it. Lifting her hand she flung it across the room, "give a message to your Bitch of an empress married to your mighty leader, her father will awaken and reclaim the Dark Empires throne and her new husband will be first to die at his hands." turning away she started to walk turning into her true form "carry on and fight me if you wish or be wise and leave now to gain honor in a fight another day."

ooc> Sorry, by "circling around" I meant actually going around the Hulk. (They are based on Blackstone fortresses, so they don't need to circle themselves in order to fire at a new target) It should be within the line of sight to your Mothership a minute or two after the "extra" battle Barge got incinerated.

ic> The OCSF (switched the acronym around a little) was about 2/3 of the way around the Hulk when the Fallen Barge came speeding at it. Its main cannon continued to fire until the Barge's shields dropped and it was blown to bits right before it reached the Fortress, a close call. Elsewhere in space surrounding the Hulk, the Gronde forces withdrew slightly and took a defencive position. They had stopped firing for the time being in complience with the Fallen's demand and Enjire's orders.

**Response to Fallen**
We have ceased firing for the time being. However, keep in mind that your forces do not stand a chance against us. If you destroy the Hulk, your fleet will be wiped out. However, I propose a compromise. You pay me reasonable conpensation for the damages caused by your "Goddess" and we will allow you to extract her. You can either pay to achieve your goals, or pay even more and not achieve them. I don't think it is a difficult choice.

~Enjire

Though the battle in space had become quiet, the battle within the Hulk was louder than ever. The 28 breaching pods accounted for by the Imperial Navy forces were completely surrounded. The innitial forces were swept aside by the Fallen Marines. However, heavier guns, Mechs, and Veteran soldiers were already entrenched around each of the pods. (The vets are basically IG Storm Troopers with Pulse rifles) The Imperial Navy followed the "Big Gun" policy. In other words, so matter how supernatural you foe is, a big enough gun will still take care of it. And they had enough of them. As the Fallen approached, war walkers fired off their Gauss chain guns, while laser cannon emplacements picked off Dreadnoughts and infantry sent waves of fire from their covered positions.

At the other two pods, things were going a little different. The few patrol men were quickly gunned down, and it appeared as though the commander was in one of the pods. They both landed close together, so the 4 Space marine squads did not need to separate far. They took up defencive positions and began sending bolter shells into the emerging enemies. The 4 Gronde Marined squads would only be able to do so much, however.

Meanwhile, deep within the Hulk, Shayde was thrown against the wall by Dahaka. She landed on her feet and was about to attack again when Dahaka turned away and spoke.

"Flee this place if you wish," replied Shayde. "But I know of whom you speak and the Dark Empire's thrown was never truly his. And know that Kalgar is twice the warrior that you or your "Emperor" will ever be!"

OOC: I really don't like doing this but I have to in order to stay in character.

IC:

Eighth fleet had heard most of the transmissions between Gronde and the fallen, and, since Gronde seemed to have stopped firing, they seemed to have capitulated to the wishes of the fallen, they had betrayed their word, that was unforgivable, while the admiral would let them live it would not be because he wanted to, it was instead because they would kill his marines if he attacked them, and while the marines expected to possibly die in combat he would not have them die at the hands of their temporary allies.

White-haven ordered the ships of the fleet to continue on their course and stay at full alert but they were not to fire upon the enemy, the LACs were a different matter entirely, they were out of comm range for their less powerful recievers and the FTL array was too clumsy and bulky to be packed onto the fighters, he had no way of instructing them to stop their attack.

The LACs drove in towards the red glowing ships of the fallen fleet at full acceleration, they would be in range in minutes, since they had been burning towards the fallen for the better part of 15 minutes, when they got to powerred missile range for the EW birds they would fire, then they would close another 5000 kilometers and fire their standoff range weapons, hopefully destroying at least one ship, once their missiles were shot out they were planning on going in close and pounding the enemy with their grasers, but they would have to see what happened with the first attacks before they even attempted energy combat.

OOC: the empress most likely want the commanders heads on a plate and there familys murdered. Oh and any space marine commanders who decided to stop the attack she will want them to be handed over to the Inquisitors of the Dark Empire.

Dahaka turned, peered into Shayde's eyes. "ofcorse mortal if thats what you wish to think." she flicted her hand at shayde. At that point shade could feel a burning pain on his/hers (still dont know the sex) arm as a simple mark came though. The mark the mark of the Sith Family, it was never used anymore but it was still known to but a few. "show that to your leader and his whore. and by the way i do not flee, im letting you live." Dahaka replyed fading away.

The other Fallen Marines fought on at the 28 breaching points, the heavy fire didnt stop them as they carryed on pouring into the Imperial Guard, heavy weapons were good but at a certain Range useing it would be suiside and thats what the Marines hoped for. Meny dreadnoughts fell as they were pounded, a fallen marine shouted over the comm channel to the Marines at the northen Line "down", just as a hail of Plasma missile fire flew over them, the missiles expolded covering large areas with super hot plasma. Then another volly of missile from a few hell Dreadnoughts slamed into the area.
The southen line on the other hand was failing, marines were having to pull back as such heavy fire came at them. No matter they didnt care as a few tech marines set Demo Charnges in the corridors of the southen line waiting for the right moment to set them off.

With the other 2 pods the Chaplin didnt mind the combat, he felt her coming to him. "HOLD THE LINE SHE SHALL BE HERE IN A FEW MINUTES" he shouted, fireing a few rounds of his Bolter pistal at a few marines, just as a Dradnought fired a massive hail of missiles into one of the Gronde Space marines squads, the others were not bothered, the dreadnoughts were supporting well as hails of chaingun fire poured out of them.

In space as the LACs aproched the Barge and opened fire on it and its escorts destroying one of the Destroyers it just plodded along not caring. Tho Malcave wasnt happy, he opened a channel to the Gronde Commander, "You think i wouldnt pick up that attack, call it off and deal with it yourself. We maby fallen but at lest we keep our word." He snaped. it was true tho the escorts didnt open fire at first, they didnt need to as a cease fire had been called. As like all CorpSacians they kept there word and expected others to do so, and demanding the Gronde Commander to sort this out himself was also a tipical Corpsacian demand. They didnt know the MM forces and therefor didnt even think they were worth talking to, again a tipical Corpsacian thing. Even tho they were fallen they still seemed to be corpsacian at heart.

The troops at the defense points were getting worried, they had some ad-hoc defenses but the sounds they were hearing were terrifying, not even animals made sounds like that...

The lower officers approached Pahner, they hoped he would give the order to withdraw, whatever was out there was not something they wanted to meet, ever. Pahner disagreed, they'd given their word and they'd keep their word, plus, so what if they died here or under some foreign sun, they would all die eventually, in combat at the hands of their enemies, or in their old age at the hands of an outraged spouse, they would still be dead, either way.

LACs

The LACs were finally in range, the first to fire were the EW fighters, with their nukes they could scramble almost anything, nothing in the world was designed to survive EMP on the level they were about to put out, and hopefully they'd be far enough from the enemy that they wouldn't get fried right along with them.

Nearly a full minute later the rest of the ships fired, launching their missiles in a concentrated swarm of weapons that was designed to overload any defensive arament that may have survived the effects of the nukes, the missiles were accelerating at well over 300 gravities, combined with the braking maneuvers the LACs were performing they were swiftly pulling ahead of their launchers, and, depending on the missiles effectiveness, the LACs would follow up their weapons to destroy anything that had survived with their grasers... The slaughter had begun...

ooc> Well several Space marine commanders will likely be executed. I have a special plan for Enjire, which you should find interesting.

ic> At the main 28 landing sites, the Imperial forces were able to re-support all of their lines and allowed for a steady advance into the enemy forces, under heavy cover fire.
