[Open Intro] From the Ashes [ATTN FT!]

The Most Holy Covenant
22-11-2004, 20:16
OOC: Hi, this is Kriegorgrad and I’ve (finally) decided to try my hand at Future Tech, hope to RP with you guys soon. By the way, as a note, I am the Covenant after High Charity (Covenant homeworld) was taken over by the flood.

This is an epilogue of sorts.

Sorry for the third version, this is the final version of the intro RP.

IC:

Prologue: A long story short

As soon as the great fleet entered the system, the message was sent on all frequencies, hopefully, the message would land on the right frequency.

We, the sacred Covenant, are a collective of races, blessed and anointed in the Prophets’ guiding light, however, that same light was dealt a foul blow, a blow we shall not speak of now, as this is a new beginning for the covenant, we hope to open diplomatic relations with any who are interested.

We are looking for strong, long-term allies that will help if called upon, we of the Covenant are an honourable collective and a peaceful one but when roused to war, we will not back down.

Thank you for your time.

Yours,

Commander Zerathil, The Prophet’s will and guardian of Sacred Rings

OOC Note: If you want to read about the events prior to the message being sent out, then feel free to do so but, what you just read was the bare minimum needed to get the gist of the story.

IC:

Chapter One: The Exodus

Commander Zerathil stood on the deck; a wild fusion of blues and purples slashed the smooth walls as the gentle hum of the ship’s systems gave a peaceful feel to the covenant capital ship. Zerathil looked out the observation glass on the deck, at the burning world below. High Charity, his golden armour shimmering, almost mimicking his want to land on the Holy World City of High Charity and defend it’s holy ground. The parasite had spread from one of the sacred rings and into the Holy City of High Charity.

Zerathil turned to Prophet beside him, it was hard to imagine that the Prophet had once been a mere council member, albeit a high ranking one, but a council member nonetheless, thankfully, the traitorous brutes hadn’t claimed all of the Prophets’ race, the regal creature looked resplendent in it’s floating throne, golden crown towering above his face that sat on his long, lithe neck. Only when the Prophet of Hope turned to him; in acknowledgement, did Zerathil speak.

”My holy Prophet…what shall become of the covenant? We have a fleet yet we have no home! We don’t even have the capability of having an arbiter to guide us through these turbulent times!”

The Prophet spoke, in a low yet high voice that carried with it, extreme confidence, the confidence one would expect of a Prophet.

“The Covenant has sustained far worse Commander, should the Covenant splinter whenever we meet a bump in our path to the Great Journey, we would’ve broken long ago, thankfully, we are stronger than that.”

”But Holy Prophet…what else have we sustained that can outmatch this? The Covenant has never lost it’s home world…I am sorry Holy Prophet, but I cannot see how we are to survive this, the Covenant has never been forced to its knees by a mere parasite!”

”True, but what chance does the Covenant have of surviving if we fail now? Give up, lose all hope. None, it is in hope that we must place our faith. The gods shall deliver us Zerathil, the gods shall.”

“But we are running from our homeworld, why should we run! Why not stand and fight?”

Zerathil looked about to argue but he put fist chest and said biddably, “yes Holy Prophet”

Michi; a high level grunt that was in charge of the administrative duties aboard The Faithful, lay back in his chair; eyes on the ceiling thanks to the low-lying command seat, shut his eyes and was about to drift off to sleep…when a low hissing awoke him, he opened his eyes and they went darting around the room, his beady black eyes finding nothing in the shadows of the room, yet the hissing continued.

Michi strained his ears until he got a vague idea of where the hissing was coming from: him. Michi rolled over to see Zuli, a younger grunt of lower rank, siphoning Michi’s methane! A small exchange of barks and chirrups resulted in Zuli trotting off to start the laborious journey down three corridors, lazy as grunts were, it was still ironic that despite their home world dying, the remainder of the Covenant fleet fleeing, the grunts found the time to be lazy.

Michi began to wonder whether he should actually do some work before an elite caught him napping, he decided too and his stubby little fingers began to dart along the holo-panel, he began to check through the mammoth fleet that was fleeing the dying world of High Charity.

Zerathil, commander of a fleet that had only received the distress call when it was too late, returned to High Charity with a large amount of ships to pick up as many refugees as they could, after endless hours of counting, the small number came to 5 million, a pitiful number considering the entire Covenant once numbered around forty-three billion.

Chapter Two: The Silence

For months the fleet kept on, food and water were beginning to run out, the ships were cramped, 5 million was never going to be an easy number to transport on mainly military vessels, military vessels were meant for the holy crusade against humanity, not transporting refugees nor were they meant the transport of a massive amount of foodstuffs, not to mention the grunts’ methane. Zerathil had more talks with the Prophet of Hope, mainly of what to do next, despite the Prophet’s wisdom, he had given few answers.

Commander Zerathil stood on the bridge for days at a time, Zerathil and his fleet had been through numerous solar systems, all of them were dead, not one terra-grade planet in any of them, Zerathil assumed this day would be no different, he was wrong.

While Zerathil was engrossed in one of his talks with the Prophet of Hope, a grunt began to squeal, “SIR! SIR! ME FOUND WATER! WATER!” Zerathil begged the Prophet’s forgiveness and turned to rush to the grunt, “Water, show me! Quickly!” The grunt pulled up a list of data on the holo-panels and Zerathil let the crew cheer, the guttural bellow of the elites mixing with the chirps of the grunts while the screeching of jackals cut through both, many minutes later, when the news had reached the hunters, roars were let loose that rocked the ship.

Not one brute cheered, they had proved themselves an untrustworthy race of traitors, when they had tried to clamber aboard The Faithful - as if they were worthy of being saved or being labelled refugees in need of help - Zerathil had impaled many on his plasma blade, the arrogant beasts thought that raw strength could over come an elite’s skill, Foolish, arrogant beasts.

“Oh…I knew that there would be a catch” The grunt moaned, “Humans sir…lots of them but they don’t seem to have anything to do with the ones we fought…nothing at all.”

Zerathil turned and strode to the Prophet, “most Holy Prophet, what shall we do?”

A deafening silence filled the bridge, peace with the humans? Unthinkable!

”We shall be to them as brothers of course”

The Prophet gave a slight grin.

”Many of them will know nothing of us, nor our holy war and who’s to say, the ends do not justify the means? No one I say! We shall accept the gullible human race into our bosom and then plunge the blade into their back.”

A cruel, harsh laughter in numerous alien tongues filled the bridge, while the deep boom of hunters roaring in pleasure echoed throughout the ship.

Chapter Three: From the ashes

After days of looking for a [vacant] terra-grade planet, they found it, a lush planet, wriggled with forests and wide, open seas. Fresh water was in abundance and there were huge amounts of arable land and very importantly – huge amounts of untapped methane, locked in the mountains.

These things were trivial; however, by comparison to the final discovery.

The terra-grade planet had one, key, crucial thing that made the Covenant declare it their new home: Forerunner technology.

Soon after the Covenant happened across the planet, they had noticed it from orbit.

The Prophet of Hope quickly released a message to the entire Covenant after realising their luck.

My brothers! It has become apparent that our holy lords, the Forerunner, did indeed predict the predicament we would be in. It also appears that the Forerunner expected us to be faithful in the search for their relics – and look at how our faith has been rewarded!

My brothers, we are a new race, a new race emerging from the ashes, we shall dig through the rubble of High Charity and make an even grander city!

My brothers, we have reached a new age of enlightenment!

However, the Forerunner technology wasn’t the most startling discovery the Covenant would make, while on this planet…

Epilogue: New Found Friends

Each and every single covenant was made to swear an oath of secrecy, none were to tell the humans of the Prophets grand plan, lest they be branded heretics and cast out from the covenant before being hunted down like dogs.

As soon as the city began being built, a message was sent on all known frequencies.

Slowly one fo the radar/scanner opperators whispered to his partner "She has a bad feeling about everything. Even the food dipenser."

Outside on the docking area of the station
"PSN Holy Fire you have the green light. Take her out."
"Copy that Renegade. I'll see ya in afew hours. Better have the roast ready."
"We will. Renegade out."

The massive 9.5km super cruiser gracefuly flew through the void of space towards the Covenant ships. "Com. Send them the message." "Yes captain."

Message to unknown ships

OOC: Sorry but I'm on a planet now, making a city.

Can this scenario be taking place over the planet I'm on?

IC: Zerathil was startled by speed of a reply, he clambered towards the communications holo-panel and the snoozing grunt that was sat in the chair before it. "Wake up Zuli!" Zerathil bellowed as he clipped the grunt gently behind the head.

Zuli was drifting off into peaceful...calm sleep..."WAKE UP ZULI!" was the booming noise that interrupted his reverie, followed by a hard clap behind his small head, Zuli awoke with bleary eyes and gave Zerathil and angry chitter before noticing there was a message on the holo-panel, "Sir! Contact! Contact!" the grunt yelled.

Zerathil gave the grunt a disaproving look and leant over the small beast's shoulder, "Foolish grunt! We have a message, you call yourself a warrior of the Covenant? I'm surprised you even took the oath!" Zerathil lectured, the grunt; as usual, didn't care, grunts were known to be lazy and they knew it too.

Zerathil's eyes scanned the message, Zerathil wasn't pleased either.

"They must think us mad! They demand US to power down our weapons AND our engines! Foolish humans have no idea what they trifle with." Zerathil bellowed in furious rage.

Zerathil shooed the grunt off it's holo-chair and sat down to the holo-panel, the elite's graceful fingers flew over the panel effortlessly, quickly forming a message.

We are the Covenant, we mean no harm. We are fleeing from our home world of High Charity, which was claimed by unfortunate circumstances we'd rather not discuss.

However, we will NOT power down our weapon systems nor we will power down our engines, for we do not know of your intent, no offence but there are not many of the Covenant left and we do not want to take unnessecary risks.

Our intentions are to find a new home, a terra-grade planet that will allow us to make a thriving city akin to the old.

Perhaps we can discuss this more later.

Thank you for your time.

OCC2: Jsut to let you know if a space battle ensures my ships use the exact same plasma torpedo systems as the covie ships use. Had a nasty encounter with one when I took over Reach and the surounding planets. So I got to strip it of tech and use it to my advantage. Also the Fallen Angel cannon and the Dark Star cannon are enhanced version of the plasma torpedo. The Fallen Angel is the more destructive while the Dark Star is twice as strong as a normal one.

When the transmission reached the Neo-Mekanta, Minagoroshi was... intrigued.

It was for this reason that she sent a wing of the Zircon Armada to make contact, six Zircon Battleships jumping in outside of the system...

OOC: Oh ok then :)

IC: Zerathil pondered about what to do next, this opponent was obviously strong and they seemed confident...confidence told of numbers. Zerathil deemed it best to tell this new faction of the Covenant's plight.

Zerathil's decision was made, his hands flew over the holo-panel.

It appears we are in a bit of a predicament, very well, we will tell you what happened.

The Covenant, once a huge, powerful empire, was forced to it's knees in a few days of brutal fighting, our home world of "High Charity" was claimed by a parasite.

The aforementioned parasite is; aptly, named "the Flood," the flood are a parasitic race that attach to organic things and begin to...change them, once the organic life form [the host] dies, it's flesh, blood and bone are the parasites to warp and distort.

Once the parasite is done, it will have full control of the host's nervous system, it can either change it into a carrier form; a beast that can create more parasites, or a warrior form; a potent beasts with lethal tentacles and a basic knowledge of the host's weaponry, and I assume others can be made, we simply haven't encountered those yet.

One, final thing concerning "the Flood" are the "hives" that they make, the hives are a deposit of fatty-flesh on surfaces, we aren't sure yet as to how these hives work or what they do but we are fairly sure it won't be beneficial to either of us.

Please let us build in peace, we don't wish for war, especially not at this fragile, crucial stage in our development.

Thank you for your time.

Commander Zerathil, The Prophet’s will and guardian of Sacred Rings

Zerathil hit the final key on the holo-panel and it whirred into life, a satisfying chime came from the panel as the message was sent at a speed thirty times faster than the speed of light.

Zerathil had no more than turned away from the holo-panel; and prepared to clamber out of the holo-seat, that a second message chimed in, his eyes scanned the holo-panel and he gave a satisfied grunt.

A friendly reply, praise the Prophets!

Zerathil went through the procedure of opening a secure connection before sending through another message.

Thank you, we hope to speak with you too, perhaps we could meet aboard my flagship, The Faithful, perhaps we could discuss the possibility of an alliance?

Thank you for your time.

Commander Zerathil, The Prophet’s will and guardian of Sacred Rings

Zerathil clambered off the holo-chair and allowed the angry, chittering grunt to have it's makeshift bed back, Zerathil was about to return to the Prophet's side when an elite called out to Zerathil, "Commander! Take a look at this, its on the visual scanners," Zerathil yelled back his acknowledgements and told the elite to project the image into the middle of the huge, open bridge.

"Yes Commander!" the elite barked and then...what came up, left even Zerathil stunned, "Brother! Is that thing ORGANIC!" was the shocked Zerathil's reply.

The Zircon ships organic? Or something else?

Because Zircon ships are rather easy to mistake for organic. In fact, if it weren't for the fact thier "cells" are machines, they probably would be considered pure organic.

-IC-

The six Zircon ships jumped into the system, sliding towards the Covenant ships as a Hive Lord materializing on the "lead" Battleship.

As they always did, the Zircon scanned the system before sending a return reply.

Also, we would like to conduct talks upon the Flagship The Faithful if you consent.

The Lekgolo Covenant
23-11-2004, 00:12
These had not been the only Covenant to escape the slaughter, Hundreds of Thousands of Covenant had been on the Second Holy Ring, They had been betrayed, but they had won, when the Covenant fleet from the far reaches of the galaxy returned, their Kig-yar were exiled to the second holy ring, the Jiralhanae Executed or also sent to the Ring, along with the treacherous Yanme'e. The Fleet had tracked its remaining counterparts, tracked their messages, and before leaving, in holy revenge, had destroyed parts of the infected holy city, before it left.

The Prophet, Justice, sat on his hovering throne, he had been catapulted to power of the Lekgolo dominated faction, his regal stature had not faded, even when faced with the destruction of the Covenant.

A few heavy footsteps could be heard, the whoosh of the door opening, and more heavy footsteps foretold the entrance of a Lekgolo, a Hunter to the Human filth. His deep voice boomed around the room, reflecting oof the dark purple walls.

"The Unngoy are calmed again, Prophet, The Sangheili Stand ready to follow You into battle, And as i assured you, The Lekgolo will always be friends with these Races, as it has always been, and always will be"

The Prophets voice rung out next, higher, more regal, but with no less power.

"And i am grateful for your Help, Ere'kanu, How long till we arrive in the sector that harbours our more.. forgiving brothers."

Ere'kanu's voice boomed around the room once more.

"We are arriving now, Holy Prophet"

The Space above this new world crackled and glared its fiery purple, time and time again, untill Twenty Warships hung in space.

The Prophet Hovered into the control room of the Carrier Holy Justice and Retribution, The Unggoy awakened, squeaked, and ran out of the room, The Sangheili continued their duties, while Lekgolo and the Few Holy/Honour Gaurd continued their watch.

Ere'kanu spoke.

"Unggoy will be Unggoy, Prophet.."

"Yes, they will.. Transmitt the following to any Covenant Vessels and communication points in this sector you can.."

"This is the Prophet Justice, Transmitting from The Carrier Holy Justice and Retribution, we bring more of us to you, my brothers, although i regret you did not bring justice to all the treacherous races, Who-ever acknowledges the Prophets and their power, answer me now"

A Sangheili spoke up.

"Transmitted, Holy Prophet"

"Now we will See, Ere'kanu, we will see.."

OOC: Note: Daemon: Master Chief. Unggoy: Grunt. Jiralhanae: Brute.

IC:

To our friends aboard the AEN Shadow Angel, yes, we can empathise with your xenophobia, also, if you suffer from the same symptoms, why did you force us [the Covenant] to go through the excruciating tale of our tragic defeat?

It is, however, very interesting that you have met the flood in conflict, I assume you found them worthy opponents, we have found them foes that are not to be trifled with.

I'm sorry but we really don't want to let anyone know too much about us.

Thank you for your time.

Commander Zerathil, The Prophet’s will and guardian of Sacred Rings

Zerathil stood aboard the bridge of The Faithful, he was deep in another of his talks with the Prophet of Hope.

"Preposterous! How can you conjure the thought of us finding another faction of Covenant, other survivors, you saw High Charity burn just as the hive consumed it, you saw the huge build-ups of flesh. You saw High Charity DIE!"

"True Zerathil but we do not know about everything that transpired on our shattered world of High Charity, we don't even know what became of the Jiralhanae, known to the humans as "brutes." A Fitting name, don't you think?"

"Indeed most holy Prophet but I thought all the Jiralhanae were slain in the great battle of High Charity."

"Zerathil, we shall not speak of that battle...the battle that had the daemon slay rank-after-rank of honourable Sanghelli and Unggoy."

"Very well, most holy Prophet but back to the subject of the possibility of another group of Covenant survivors, it is a mad thought conjured by a tortured, desperate mind. I know I am being disobedient but I need to voice my concerns about this most holy Prophet."

"I understand perfectly Zerathil, you simply want what's best for the Covenant but...you must have a little more faith."

The talk continued for some time, turning from the possibility of survivors to the new city of High Charity and the future of the Covenant race.

Something interrupted the talk however, an elite called out.

"Sir! Something on the scanners, should I cross-check it?"

"Do so right away."

"By the Prophets...Commander! Come here quickly!"

Zerathil began to speak as he made his way to the holo-panel at which the elite sat.

"What is it brother...by the Prophets!"

What was before Zerathil, on the holo-panel, was the distinctive ID tag of a Covenant cruiser, a Flagship, the Holy Justice and Retribution.

"Commander, there are OTHER survivors!"

"By the Prophets!"

Zerathil charged to communications holo-panel and barged the snoring Zuli out of his seat, a loud series of angry chitters emitted from the irritated grunt but Zerathil was ignoring the small beast completely, he was focused on the on message he was typing with the holo-panel chiming and chirping all the while.

To our friends aboard the Holy Justice and Retribution, by the Prophets, we couldn't be more glad to have found you! I assume you know where we are already, as I am assuming you are using Covenant equipment.

I never would've guessed that there would be other survivors, thank the Prophets...come to us, we must celebrate.

Commander Zerathil, The Prophet’s will and guardian of Sacred Rings

Zerathil turned to see the Prophet, looking resplendent in it's throne.

The Prophet of Hope gave a wide smile.

"A little faith, Zerathil."

"A little faith, most holy Prophet."

Zerathil said, smiling as wide a smile as his split jaw would allow.

Ere'kanu's deep voice was interrupted by the chittering of a Unggoy, and his high pitched voice permeated the Prophet and Ere'kanu.

"Sirs! There is a reply from our brothers! it is transferred to your personal console prophet!" The Unggoy chittered some more and did his erratic movements, before turning around and half dancing his way out.

The Prophets eyes scanned his console, his neck craning ever so slightly forward.

"Most interesting, Hmm.. Zerathil.. This is Justice to control, engage slipspace drives, you know the co-ordinates by now"

The ding of acknowledgement was followed by the dark purpelish flash of subspace, a moment of nothingness. Then they were high above the world.

Diplomatic shuttle, you have permission to land aboard The Faithful, however, on arrival, you will be subjected to a Sangheili escort, failure to comply outside of The Faithful will result in a refusal of this diplomatic mission, refusal to comply within The Faithful will result in an attack by the Holy Guard of Sangheili.

-Communications Officer Zuli

When Zuli had finished with his message, he promptly returned to picking his nose before drifting off to sleep in about thirty seconds.

The shuttle slipped into The Faithful's landing bay, where an escort of ten Sangheili Holy Guardians waited patiently.

OOC: You can RP them coming to the bridge, OK?

The Prophet hovered out of the shuttle, delicately floating in the air, flanked by only 2 Holy Gaurd, behind him, the heavy steps of Ere'kanu came, before his form finally appeared, he had no escort of his own.

The Sangheili surrounded them, and lead them into the grav lift.

Within a few seconds, after a few more zooming upward trips on grav lifts, the dark purple doors to the bridge stood before them both.

Ere'kanu approached them, they opened with their swish, And Justice hovered in slowly, his guards still by his side, and The Faithful Lekgolo following him in.

And then they were there.

OOC: Ehk, logged in as main, oh well.

IC:

To Phalanixian ship AEN Shadow Angel, we are most interested in the prospect of a diplomat coming aboard The Faithful, we accept your offer and will wait eagerly.

However, your diplomat and escort will be subjected to a Sangheili escort, the Sangheili shall be derived from the Holy Guard, they are the best of the best, the holy warriors who safeguard our most holy Prophets.

Commander Zerathil, The Prophet’s will and guardian of Sacred Rings

Zuli looked with dismay as the elite typed over his shoulder, he let Zerathil know by proffering a long series of angry chitters, the elite seemed satisfied and pressed the last section on the holo-panel that sent a message roaring through Covenant circuitry to a broadcasting station and from there, to the AEN Shadow Angel.

Only when Zerathil had gotten off Zuli's console, did the grunt notice the door hissing open, disgorging a number of Holy Guardians and a Prophet...the loud thumping told of a Lekgolo being near as well, Zuli's jaw dropped, silence held the bridge with an iron fist.

Zerathil detached himself from the console just as the door slid open with a hiss, a muted chime announced the presence of the Lekgolo Covenant ambassador, along with ten Sangheili Holy Guardians and; oddly, a Lekgolo, a hunter was accompanying the Prophet, along with the Prophets own Holy Guardians.

Zerathil quickly crossed the bridge, silently, while the bridge was held in a sense of awe, Zerathil quickly conversed with the Prophet of Hope in a hushed tone, after a few moments of silent conversation, the Prophet of Hope swivelled in his throne to face the new comers.

"Greetings, I see you have returned to the fold...however, I am aware that you have no Kig-yar in your fleet. Should anything unfortunate happen to my Kig-yar while you are onboard, I'll know who to hold responsible...but on to more jovial matters! It is amazing that you found us, we were doubtful about survivors for some time but our faith never left us completely and look how our faith has been rewarded, I am presented with a Lekgolo and...of all things: a Prophet. I am a fortunate one indeed."

OOC: Oh dear, I'm logged in as main as well!

OOC: Cant be bothered to change, lol.

Justice turned all of his Attention to the other of his Species, Hope. Ere'kanu looked on.

"Yes, that you are, The Loyal Covenant on the surface tracked you as you left, As did our expeditionary fleet's Battlenet. I returned, my search for another sacred ring, fruitless, To Find Nothing but a burning city and Lekgolo keeping the Loyalist forces together, i took the survivors, and ridded myself of the traitors.

I have but Ere'kanu to thank for the survival of most of my remaining covenant, the flood were most persistent."

"I Live to serve you, Holy Prophet" Ere'kanu said, rather loudly from behind.

"But now, we have many things to discuss.. do we not, Hope, There is the re-organisation of the covenant for one."

Justice stopped his talking, and allowed his colleague to talk.

The Prophet of Hope sat in his throne, assessing what Justice had just told him, the Sangheili did little to hide his outward scorn and Zerathil whispered into Hope's waiting ear.

"Most holy Prophet, it may not be my place to pass judgement on another Prophet but what he speaks is madness, Lekgolo as commanders, it is a foolish remark in itself but to claim that they HELD the loyalists together is outright ignorance! Should there have been Sangheili, they would've done the leading - and somehow, I don't think High Charity was without Sangheili loyalists!"

Hope swivelled slightly in his throne, craning his long neck to meet his friend's ear, his voice a low, firm whisper.

"Zerathil, do you know how many commander Sangheili there were left on High Charity: none. They all fought to get to the ships, however, the hunters, being slower and more cumbersome, wouldn't be able to get to our ships as quickly, therefore, they would stay and aid the loyalists in their last stand and could you imagine the Covenant picking some Unggoy or Kig-yar to lead them in their last stand? We must remember that most of the Sangheili would be exhausted from their battle with the brutes and therefore, most of the Sangheili would deem themselves unfit to lead.

I'm not saying that the Lekgolo are superiour to our Sangheili in any way, you know I think otherwise, the Lekgolo were simply the victims of circumstance.

However, despite the Lekgolo making excellent make-shift leaders...I'm glad that most of the Kig-yar made it to our ships, the Lekgolo Covenant seemed rather eager to have them eradicated."

Zerathil returned the whisper in a biddable tone.

"All excellent points most holy Prophet but..."

Zerathil just trailed off and gave an acknowledging nod.

The Prophet of hope cleared his throat and let his regal voice carry about the grand chamber of a bridge.

"Yes, we do have much to discuss but the main subject to discuss on my agenda is the name of our new holy city but; I hope you take no offence, I'd prefer it if our two factions had separate cities, the name for my city would most likely be "Swift Justice" or "Martyr's Hope."

However, that is if we are to have different cities."

Ere'kanu threw a glance at Zerathil, Ere'kanu knew exactly what he thought, and he didnt like it one bit at all.

The Prophet hovered delicately closer, and spoke again.

"I think it would be most wise, our factions may be the same in most respects, but they are different at the same time, of course, it would be within our best interests for them to be located close to each other, without too much of a barrier, A quick decision on such a site would be optimal, as the Sangheili and Lekgolo of my faction are most exhausted from the Exodus."

Justice hung level, and hovered delicately backwards.

Zerathil caught the stare that the Lekgolo had proffered him, he locked eyes with the mammoth beast and felt his hand go for the energy blade that rested on his waist, his hand stopped, just short of the blade and Zerathil let his fingers relax, his arm slowly moving away from the blade hilt.

"Yes, while I see your point...we shall pool our population in the holy city but we shall have separate military installations.

But on the contrary to your former point, we have already picked a spot, the great building is nearing completion, we have been working hard at it ever since we came across this planet, it was many months before you arrived."

Zuli was half-listening to the conversation of huge importance going on between the prophets and half-trying to fall asleep when a muted chime his important duties, his beady eyes strained to decipher what the holo-panel said, his eyes soon adjusted to the holo-panel and he read the message before promptly typing up a reply.

We are glad the feeling is mutual about the diplomatic meeting, perhaps you would like to come shortly? Perhaps even today, sorry, my duties drag me away but feel free to come now.

-Communications Officer Zuli

Zerathil whispered into Hope's ear.

"Look! See how that beast eyes me up, as if im a piece of meat that he can feast upon like the brutish beast he is!"

Hope stretched his long neck down his friend's ear before emitting a low whisper.

"Well, what do you expect Zerathil, he probably has a reasonable idea of what you were whispering to me a few minutes ago.

Also, seeing as you aren't very fond of the Lekgolo, how do you know that the feeling wasn't mutual from the outset?"

Zerathil whispered his agreement and nodded again.

"However, concerning your exhausted Lekgolo and Sangheili, why can't they rest aboard their ships? We can have fuel and resources brought to them at set times, enough to keep the ships running, the world we have happened upon is very rich in resources."

OOC: Fellow members of the covenant? This is wonderful….
(Notice how many covie nations popped up in Nov.)

My “nation” was a battle fleet sent out by the prophets to locate some facility involved with the rings *cougharkcough *, they were scouring different areas, and became self-sufficent. I still received weapons and recruits from them though. Sadly communications aren’t all that great, so I have no idea about the civil war, or anything. I do know that high charity fell, as my “fleet” seen it, then picked up your message.

1-The brutes/jackals/drones are okay in my society, they have found their niche.
2-Since I wasn’t always in contact with the rest of the covenant, I have created and improved many of the stock weapons.

You guys do know that technically the elites were the traitors.

IC: A bubble of light appeared in orbit around the planet, a frigate came out of it. It’s deep purple hull reflected the planets color, giving it an odd camo-appearance.

A message was sent to the source of the distress signal:
By the rings, when we saw our sacred area disgraced, we feared that we were all that was left. What of the council and hierarchy? What happened at our city? Why are you conversing with the filth?

What exactly has happened noble prophet?

We can provide supplies and weapons, but not in great numbers, our fleet is also small, but growing, it is located elsewhere at the moment, along with Prophet of Vengance.

Message to the Faithful
Thank you. But it is tradition and proticol to have atleast one escort for a diplomat. And we will keep it at one as a sign of trust and he won't be heavily armed.
On the Shadow Angel battle bridge
"Ma'am. A new covenant ship has entered the area and is charging weapons."
"Shit. Charge all port plasma cannons and three of the Dark Stars. But do not fire I repeat do not fire unless they fire first. And if they do fire. Cripple them."
"Yes ma'am!"
Outside the Shadow Angel
The entire port side of the ship seemed to glow with a red color of death. The red seemed to make the massive shadow angel on the side of the ship look almost demonic. On the top of the ship three oversized plasma cannons turned to face the covenant ship that had it's weapons charging. Unlike the rest of the cannons these ones seemed to suck in the light around them.
Hanger Bay Beta 2
The lone diplomatic shuttle sat away from the spare fighters and old dropships. A pair began to run to the open hatch of the shuttle. Only one of them carried a XR-37 13.7mm multi-rifle. He also wore the standard adaptable armor of the AE. Though it wasn't equiped with any extra weapons than the standard plasma sword in the left hip slot and 14mm pistol side arm. Quickly the two boarded the shuttle and it's hatch sealed. Only seconds later it was shot out of the hanger on one of the 45 launch systems. Quickly it corected it's tragetory and began to head towards The Faithful. Since these shuttles didn't carry any weapon only a few flairs and a chaff system were inplace to protect it.

IC:

On the personal instructions of Shadowlord Stra'coth, Vampire Class Scout crusiers had been dispatched in all directions to map potential areas for colonisation and to observe other races. One such ships was about to exit from it's journey in hyperspace, the sleek black organic ship materialised from hyperspace at a planet and immediatly sent a distress signal back to 'The Eye' on Z'ha'dum. This would mean five Battlecrabs and several other Vampires would be on their way to join it, since the human central processor calculated the forces before them, would have noticed such a jump. It took up a stationary position and sat there looking truely alien, with it's black skin shimmering with the dark technology incorporated in such a creature. It decided it would be useful to send out a signal stating it's peaceful intentions in interlack, just to try and stop any of what was before it attacking... hopefully.

OOC: Not going to fight, but you know it would be a standardised reaction of just in case.

"Of course battle ships are no place for honourable warriors but perhaps yours could wait a bit longer?"

While the Prophets were talking the background, Zuli's stubby fingers flew over the holo-panel, effortlessly drawing up a communiqué.

To Captain Greene, we must put aside our differences, this is the Covenant's darkest hour, should you try and trifle with us now, you'll have picked the worst time to do it.
