In preparation for the November 27th General Election, the State Security Directorate has been arresting and detaining known communists and members of the Socialist Worker's Party, who seek to disrupt the democratic process. The members of the party whom we have not apprehended yet have been given 48 hours to turn themselves in- or they will be captured and killed.

ic: Yet another nation attempts to grab the headlines by killing communists. How terribly predictable.

I'm not grabbing headlines. It's just what I do.

These people seek to topple the freely elected government of my nation and replace it with a "workers' paradise." I am not letting that happen.

Even so, by banning political parties, you can not exactly call your electoral process 'democratic' any more...

Actually, I can. Any party that DOES NOT want to destroy the nation can run.

Still, that's putting a condition on your electoral process, which whether you like it or not, is still infringing on democracy..

How do you think the BNP etc can stand in the UK... plus, if you're going to ban communists for wanting to destroy the state, you'd better ban the facsists too, given that their aims are similar...

OOC: Usual anti communism blurb from me alas... it is predictable but no less fun to kill Communists in a variety of werid and wonderful ways :D Besides Democracy is 'Two sheep and a Wolf discussing dinner'... so the Wolf isn't going to be pleased when you disrupt dinner :P

The Guilds fully supports action to stop Communist/Socialist groups, seeking to turn another nation over to the ravages of Communism/Socialism. We lend Sevaris our support in this matter, as regards the dealing with this infestation of the world plague.

OOC: I think the point is they were plotting revolution, the BNP, BCP or the SWP don't do this in reality, although the later does say lots of silly things... not often THAT silly...

The Falange has formed our government for the past 5 years- I doubt it's going to change. Yes, we are fascists, but we do listen to the people.

The Lasatanian State Department expresses its displeasure at the recent actions of the government of Sevaris. Lasatania calls on Sevaris to allow free and fair elections and to desist from placing restrictions on what it has described as a 'democratic' process.

Further infringement of human rights will be taken in the most grave light by the Lasatanian state.

PRABHA (KNS) – Disturbed by the growing threat of violence in Sevaris, Prime Minister E.S. Cirettekrub Monday offered to moderate negotiations between the government and the nation’s Communist leadership.

“No matter what the ideologies, violence is never a good option,” Cirettekrub told reporters at a press conference in Sumeru, where he was leading an economic panel investigating the growth of the emu sterilization industry.

The prime minister has offered both parties safe facilities here in the capital where, closed off from media and the public for a few days, they might be able to broker an agreement, thereby averting bloodshed.

“I believe this is in the best interest of the people Sevaris,” Cirettekrub said.

While we were always aware that Sevaris had a fascistic (albeit relatively benevolent) government, this really brings home just how fascistic it is, and indeed forces us to question whether our nation, which has never destroyed a political party (though we have killed off umpteen millions of the extreme Right wing, msainly for murder of intolerance) can maintain relations with such a state.
