Through hardwork and long hours of research, our scientist have fabricated what may be the greatest "What may have been" of aviation history. We kept the desighn mostly the same, but moderized it a bit. This my friends is the CF-105 Arrow Mk.2B. For those who may not know, The Arrow was built by Canada in 1959. It was the greatest jet of its era, hands down, but scraped for some Bomarc missles. The President of Canada ordered the project scrapped and all plans, models, ect. to save face and what not. Here are the Statistics:

Engine: 2 Orenda PS-13 Iroquois
Max Thrust: 11 790kg
Wing Span: 15.24m
Height: 6.4m
Length: 24.83
Wing Area: 113.8meters squared
Max Weight: 31 117kg
Rate of Climb: 13 565m/min
Max Speed: Mach 2.4
Ceiling: 18 290m
Crew: 2
(All stats above are the same as from 1959)
12 missle hardpoints in internal weapons bay

Advancements we have made are in the electronic systems and radar to make the weapons bay more effective. Also a 20mm cannon was incorporated into the previously all-missle desighn.
Cost: The original cost of each individual Arrow, was about 4 million each in 1959 but we had to raise it to 15 million USD each, to make the project feasible. So the cost is [b]15 million USD each[b]

OOC: Indeed, the Avro Arrow was really something. Fly-by-wire, incredible speed, and made in... Canada! Shame about the US-motivated lies about its cost and impracticality. I was going to have WoS get in on it (we're currently set in the 1950s and at war with the US), but I got all distracted by the English Electric Lightening, instead. Ah well, good luck with it! Sorry for the OOC intrusion, I just can't help recognising instances of respect for the Avro Arrow.

Give me 50! I love this plane!

Ahem...Right, officially...

The People's Federation of Dzavailiar is interested in purchasing fifty CF-105's for the PFAF, fully loaded, if at all possible.

And is there a possiblily that this aircraft can perform recon operations as well?

(OOC: Just saw the movie about that plane.......they could have gotten a canadian on the moon with that thing. Canada could have accomplished something that would gain them recognition and respect.)

I saw the same movie...thats what gave me the idea. Pretty amazing what Canada could have had and how they passed it up for bomarc missles, which they scrapped like a year later and ended up buying vodo fighters from the US.

No intrusion at all. It was a pretty amazing plane, not a surprise with the desighners that engineered it. Almost all of them went on to make the Apollo program a sucess as engineers for it

I was not aware of that and i had no malicious intentions at all. Besides, the only big similarity the 2 planes share is the name...

How does this thing compare to modern fighter aircraft like the F-15, F/A 18, and the newer model MiGs and SUs? Would it have a chance, or would it immediately be shot out of the sky?

You could modify it for better avionics, weapon packages, electronics, new fly-by-wire, new FCS, etc.

And since when does Canada have a President :@

Actually, im confident that it would hold up pretty well. It is faster then the Eurofighter Typhoon, F-18, JSF F-35, and F-22 to mention a few, however it is slower than the newer MiGs and SUs. It is larger than most others but is decently manuverable. Its biggest plus is that it is cheap for a fighter with its capabillities. You could have 2 of these for every one JSF F-35, for about the same cost. If used in bulk they could be quite effective. Also, it was desighned to intercept and destroy soviet nuclear bombers, so I use it in large numbers and for homeland defense. Also, I did modernize the electronics on it, but I just mentioned instead of going into depth about it.

The arrow cost about 3 million in 1959, which is 18m dollars today. We use a modernized version for 20m Chellian Euros(40m USD). Selling it at your price is cheaper than they sold it...
