On this thread the mighty Bobghan Government will post reports regarding our invasion of Fostralia. Other members of the Grand Alliance that wish to become involved may also post their after-action reports here.
Operation: Sterilise began in earnest at 16:00hrs this afternoon, with an evening of aerial bombardment featuring aircraft and cruise missiles from both the Bobghan Air Force (BAF) and the Bobghan Navy (BN). The following is a brief summary of the days events:
Approx 15:00hrs: Tomahawk Cruise Missiles were launched form BN Astute Class submarines. BAF B-52s and B-70s launched CALCMs. These missiles struck at Fostralian Government targets within the Fostralian capital Skaro at 16:00hrs
16:00hrs: BAF Tornado GR4s, escorted by Typhoon F.2s and F-16Es crossed into Fostralia and began bombing of small outlying settlements. We estimate the enemy civilian casualties to be 90-100%.
17:00hrs: A small Fostralian fighter force, consisting of surplus BAF aircraft including F-15Cs attempted to engage a BAF F-35 JSF formation, call-sign Stud-1. The F-35's escorting Typhoon F.2s destroyed the attacking aircraft before they could fire off a shot.
18:00hrs: BAF B-52s began incendiary and high-explosive carpet-bombing the Fostralian capital. Carpet bombing sorties will continue throughout the night.
19:00hrs onwards: BAF and BN jets continue to bomb small settlements of Fostralians, as well as Red Revenge training camps.
21:15hrs: A BAF Tornado GR4 was brought down by AAA fire whilst on a low-level attack on a Fostralian airfield. The crew ejected and were rescued by Special Forces elements of the Bobghan Army. They sustained only minor injuries during ejection.
22:00hrs: A small Red Revenge Force attempted to cross the Bobghan border, and fired upon one of our (evacuated) border towns. They were captured and executed by the Bobghan Army.
Assessment of enemy threat:
The Fostralians/Red Revenge have several surplus combat aircraft purchased from the Black Market and have attempted to intercept several Bobghan strike missions without success. The total number of Fostralian aircraft shot down currently stands at 17. Seven of these by Typhoon F.2s, three by F-35 JSFs, six by F/A-22 Raptors and one by a Tornado GR4.
They also have a limited anti-aircraft system, mainly relying on AAA and shoulder-launched SAMs. So far this has claimed one Tornado GR4, and has damaged several other aircraft including Tornado GR4s, Harrier GR9s and an F-16E.
The Red Revenge has managed to form a significant militia force from the Fostralian populace. We believe that a number of these militia have been killed by the systematic bombardment of Fostralian population centres however they will pose a threat to Grand Alliance ground forces when the ground invasion is launched.
