Diplomatic Development

Mattikistan
20-06-2004, 22:42
Although a small and comparatively weak nation, Mattikistan has been growing exponentially since we initialised diplomatic contact with the rest of the world. Our insubstantial military has already seen humanitarian missions, and today our people celebrated our admission into the United Nations, with just formalities awaiting our membership activation. At last, our previously speechless nation has a voice and real influence.

As our diplomatic ties continue to form and grow, the government of Mattikistan would like to extend an invitation to all peace-loving, free nations to establish embassies here. We have some vacant buildings that can be used until your own facilities are established. We would also like to set up a few of our own embassies and create friendships with our neighbours.

Furthermore, our government has offered any warring nations the use of Mattikistan facilities as a neutral venue for peace talks. Our nation may not be economically gigantic, nor does it have any threatening military power, but our people are intelligent and for the most part friendly, and our island has some of the most beautiful scenery around. This would be combined with the regal splendour of some of our historically important government buildings. If such a neutral meeting ground helps bring the planet one step closer to peace, we would be happy to extend our hospitalities.

The Prime Minister has made these offers in good faith, and will not mind if they are rejected by anyone or even everyone. As a side note, we are not seeking alliances at present as this would jeaprodise the neutrality we have worked so hard to maintain.

In response to our knowledge of your profound humanitarian aid, Grenval seeks your permission to establish an embassy. In accordance with Grenval, the nations of Universal Acceptance and Sacqu also wish establish embassies. Despite a recent war using WMDs, Grenval has offered a peacy treaty that has not been accepted and halted the use of WMDs. Grenval has also pulled all men into purely defensive stances. Please reply, preferably with a telegram.
