The Fire Brigades Union (FBU) recently held a ballot of their members on strike action over pay and conditions.

During that afternoon the leader of the FBU held a press conference and made this statement "The FBU has held a balllot on their members over Strike action and the response in favour of it was overwheliming, strike action will be in effect from 48 hours, and the strike will last indefinitly." the Union leader paused a bit before starting his next senstence.

"The Fightfighters feel that they are not safe in the job, after the recent forest fires, that we.. don't have the correct equipment to deal with such matters, nor do we have the correct training in which to do so."
The FBU man took another short break before moving onto the new point he wanted to make.

"We also feel that the pay we currently get doesn't refelct the actually dangers we face in the jobs nor will it reflect the improved training we will hav. Therefore we ask for a 25% increase in pay over the next 6 months. Therefore we ask the goverment to imporve our training, equipment and pay, they do have 48 hours in which to tell us there response to this"

A few hours later the First Minster himself came out to a press meeting he was holding "We will not be bullied nor intimidated by the FBU, their demand for the 25% pay increase is not reasonible or accpectible, and we do have measures and plans in place to improve their training and their equipment and they will be brought in over the next Year or so, we do hope that the FBU listens to reason and doesn't go ahead with this strike that we put lives in danger for the purpose of pure greed."

The FBU didn't accept this and still demanded the 25% pay increase they had asked for.

Many firefighters all over Red Wales started their Strike action

And the TA began there to prepare to take over the firefighters duties, with the out of date Green Goddesses (it was first built in 1953) which can go on faster then 50 MPH (20 MPH less then the Red Fire Engine) it can hold up to 300 gallons of water (200 less then the modern fire engine) and only has 1 ladder (Modern has 5) that can reach up to 35 feet (45 feet in the modern fire engine)The Green Goddess only has a low-pressure pump - which spurts water more like a garden hose.

Much of the public and press are expressing worry that the Green Goddess will not be able to handle the job that the fire fighters do

Well if this is indeed based on UK firemen, you will find a poorly equipped army with less men will do just as well (Its performancer matched the fire brigade's average rate of sucess and death). SO i suggest you stand firm, perhaps offering the rise conditional to better working practicesm(Which is the only thing the army had in their favour) so they save more lives. (infact the army complained about boredom) If you need aid we can send some engineers and hazardous environment troops your way to help, as they are well equipped for the job anyway. If you want we will send 2000 of each with no weapons bar sidearms (for personal safety), with enginerers fully equipped and hazardous envirno troops with all the necessary protection (they can even operate in nuclear reactor fires and have radiation suits) they will arrive in 120 aircraft if you wish.
