Lindimese corporations have begun to sell thier products and services to the world through Designswerk's Connexions. As of yet, we offer hydroelectric dam construction and mantainence, and communication lines and wiring.

For more details, point your web browser here: http://www.freewebs.com/emschultz/designwerksconnexion.htm

Soon we will offer other useful products and services.

OOC: By the way, Designwerks is a great alternative to all the military storefronts out there...

Medicasia would like to order a national telecomms grid. Although only a small country at present (14mill) we are growing rapidly and require a network for 20mill citizens at least. By altering our planning laws to include expansion of the fibre-optic network as a prerequisite we hope to avoid large future network redesigns.

I therefore wire $10bill to you. This should allow our telecomms and high-tech medical industries to grow unhindered by low-bandwidth. If there is a discount available please let me know.

Medi, we have confirmed your order and discounted you five billion as you are our first customer. Construction teams are being sent over now, and the major work should be done within six NS years. We are glad you are interested in our services, and look foward to working with you in the future.

Seph, we have confirmed your one half of a trillion dollar order, and would like to know where exactly the second national grid will be. The first construction team for your country is being sent over now. Major work should take eleven NS years.

One of our local power suppliers has requested that the federal government relays the following message to the Designwerks Connexion:

We find that the demand for power is increasing faster than we have the capacity to build new power plants. Because of this, we are in need of external manpower and expertise to extend our supply.

We hereby offer a $ 10.000.000 hydroelectric power plant construction contract. If you are to accept, the money will be transferred instantly.

Yours,

With co-operation between our two nations taking off as it is we were wondering what the approximate cost of laying a fibre optic cable from our nation to yours is? This cable could be connected to a QUANVER on either side to be used as the backbone for the cabling allowing fast reliable routing.

Lindim we are curious to the cost for a complete overhaul of our nation’s data networking systems. We would like every home to have unfettered three megabit access. We give you carte blanche in how you do this, we simply want the method, cost, and implementation time. You’d be responsible for removing the old network, creating the new one and making sure there are no major interruptions of service. There would also be commercial/industrial connections needed. Basically another 3Mbit per person only concentrated in the downtown areas.
Lindim
16-06-2004, 20:46
The implemention time would be about a decade, but major population centers could be set up before that is over as we have developed ways to implement a new system intertwined with an old network.

By take orginal network points and increasing their denesity, we would put in the increasing connections and replace any non-fiber optic ones with ours, and leaving any existing fiberoptics intact. Thus, a bus/star/system would arise from the old one. This would cost about $350,000,000,000 for ten years, but that would include mantainence costs and transportation. If this is problem, I am sure we can work a out a new price.
Nova Hope

OOC: A credit is equal to two USD
IC:

With the given per year cost of 17.5 billion credits in mind would you be interested in a contract that would place private sector telecommunications in your hands for the next (30 RL days). You would be charged to provide and maintain an infrastructure that could support the entire private demand of our country. We would be giving you a legal monopoly of the telecommunications industry. We understand that this is a growing industry and that you are going to be paid a set amount each year, so to make the contract more appealing to you we can raise the unit price to 20 billion credits a year for the next thirty years making this contract a 600 billion credit contract. The government would still independently contract to insure its data transferring needs however.

The goal here is for the government to foot the bill of all data transfers reducing the cost of business within our country. Is this contract acceptable to you?
Lindim
17-06-2004, 11:08
OOC: Clever, paying money to foreign contractors that, in fact, boosts your economy. Very clever.

IC: Though this proposition you make is unusual, we would be willing to fulfill our side of it and run your countries communications for the next (30 RL days,) with one stipulation.

In reference to this: "The government would still independently contract to insure its data transferring needs however," who be told who you choose. That is all.

Thank you for your cooperation, and we assure you that our lines are as secure and fast as can be, you can even inspect them yourselves.

OOC: Hmmm.... would you be okay if I started anothor little subplot with Tre bugging some of the more sensitive communication lines? ;)

IC:

We will not be informing you as to the nature or people doing government contracts. We may even infact be doing it ourselves, we are simply reserving our right to privacy. Do we have a deal as stated or not?

As stated, I have received confirmation on the approval. Teams are already on their, way, we except the first payment in one year.

Secret IC: Tre scared the shit out of the man, but he nodded as she coldly asked him for each detail of the operation he planned and was about to carry out.

"You see, ma'am, this is different from previous bugs because it only functions as data is passing through."

Tre stared at him cooly behind her glasses. "And how would that work out? What good does that do us?"

The technician grinned, this was the good part. "If bugs are hidden within the fiberoptics, they can only be detected with EMW sweepers or by chopping up the enitre cable into very fine bits, which is completely impractical. And EMW sweepers can only point out a bug when the line is dead except for the bug. But here, if the line is dead..."

Tre grinned, a disturbing cat-like and vampiric grin. "The bug is dead. And they can't see it." She nodded. "Good work. I want you on the helicopter with the rest of the construction team and to take care of this." She turned away quickly and disappeared into the building behind her.

The technician laughed, his littel creations had saved his career. After his last mistake, these were brilliant. The best part was, he decided, that they could be constructed out of legit communications equipment. Easy to smuggle, build, and hide. This would be pulled off perfectly. Sometimes he loved Tre.

OOC: Hmmm... a facedown between Tre and the NNOA leader would be interesting. She is a dangerous person, but then, NOva is a stronger country... but then again, Lindim has very strong allies... then again, she is a rogue gov't official. This will be fun.

Oh, btw, why can't you tell me what is happening with the NNOA? Send me an OOC telegram so we can plan some of this RP out. Don't do some suprizwe attack on me OOC. I already have an idea for one of Tre's motives, so we could get this started.
