Huskarls utilise ancient yet incredibly advanced technology in their ship design, completly lacking the attack craft of the younger races. This makes for a truly unique fleet, one utilising incredible speed and awsome fire power (including many weapons unknown to other races) to overwhelm their opponents.

the lucifer has an inpenetrable sheild but there are still ways to destroy it my sheilds dont work in subspace

The Nova cannons were designed for attacking planets, if you fire them at the same time it can make a giant hole. (Right through the planet)

I'll translate.

The Lucifer uses sheath shielding technology, which negates all damage done to it. The reason this is done is that the lucifer simply transmits, all attacks against its hull to subspace, as if the lucifer was one giant gate. This still comes under the status of a shield however, and shields do not work in subspace. Therefore, if you procure a way to even find a ship in subspace, and work out the relevant subspace node to access, you could find the lucifer when its shields are down. It is by no means defenseless, but it would be vulnerable. Just remember that it is the most powerful ship in the fleet anyway.

All Shivan ships tend to have far fewer weapons on their back (where the oh so vulnerable engines are.)

Besides, the Lucifer isn't invulnerable. You just need to find some kind of weapon that isn't stopped by subspace. Something like the Skipper torpedo of wing commander fame. That could work. (Or you could go to subspace and kill them there.)

Exactly, but he is at war with people here with no subspace drives, nor even the knowledge required by the scientists to construct them yet. He can appear and disappear at will. Also, you'll notice that the big ships have their rear guarded by little ships, with the exception of the lucifer, which is, to all extents and purposes, invincible in real space. But, of course, if and when that is compromised, it will be guarded. You just have to remember that the lucifer is still the biggest bad-ass in the fleet on all fronts. You can take it's shields, and damage it, but it is still going to kill you, unless you do it with a real attack force. Don't think that when the shields are down, a little fighter can do the job.

He may have subspace, but I have hyperspace. My ships can also detect the transitions between real space and subspace, if they are close enough.

So many people have hyperspace, it's hardly a bragging point. With subspace you can still travel between systems in minutes.
