Unification of the Trisystem

27-03-2004, 02:22
The 3 planetary systems of Gorlon, Parlon, and Tirlon, have united under a single flag, effective today. All three have run major merchant corporations, so it was only natural that a single nation be formed. The new nation is run by the all-powerful Galacticorp Merchan Guild, and it is called the Federation of Merchant Empires.
27-03-2004, 03:04
Galacticorp has begun to review their merchant ships, and has compiled the following public report:

Patrol Fighters:
230

Escort Fighters:
522

Courier Vessels:
140

Small Transports:
230

Large Transports:
630

Warships:
0

Summary: Our defense systems are in need of repair, upgrade, and an increase in numbers. We also have a need to increase our courier transport ability, and, possibly, build several warships to defend the homeworlds.

The Gregor Corporation is interested in providing for your starship needs. Send a telegram detailing your needs more specifically, (for example, what types of warships you need, like cap ships or convoy escorts), and we can work something up to meet them.

Fedral: We aren't Terrans.

Vernii: How long would it take you to build an average battlecruiser, and an average fighter? We won't accept any battleship that takes less than 3 years to complete, and more than 7.
Vernii

Well, normally we would be able to produce a Sultan class battlecruiser in 1/2 RL day (Vernii has an enormous orbital industrial infrastructure). Currently our shipyards are full of ships meant for DGNT's navy, so there would be a delay (we'd have to build a temporary slipway to accomodate the ship), about 2 RL days for delivery. Also, since you'd be a first time buyer, you would get a 10% discount on the ship's normal price. (OOC: Most space nations can produce a BC in about the same time.) Also, we donate a courier boat from our Smallcraft Storefront, in the interest of furthering customer relations with us.

Sultan Class
Mass (Tons): 3,432,000
Length Overall (Meters): 1,600
Maximum Beam (Meters): 205
Maximum Height (Meters): 180
Maximum Acceleration (G): 489 in Normal-Space 4,728.5 in Hyper-Space
Complement: 1,995 (180 Officers + 1,815 Warrant/Enlisted + 300 Marines) Plus Flag/Flag Staff

Armament Mounted / Weapon Mount Placement
Missile Launcher: 20 per broadside, 5 per chase.
Laser 90cm: 5 per broadside, 0 per chase.
Laser 150cm: 0 per broadside, 2 per chase.
Graser 150cm: 6 per broadside, 0 per chase.
CM Launcher: 10 per broadside, 4 per chase.
PD Laser Cluster: 27 per broadside, 6 per chase.
Parasite Complement: Capacity for 10 shuttle sized vessels.
~The newest battlecruiser class of the People's Navy, these vessels are equipped with a powerful shielding system and energy amarment. Notable actions Sultans have performed in are the First Battle of Yalta, in which they destroyed the Yaltan navy and fortifications on its moon, and then served as part of Admiral Ganote's missile screen at Second Yalta.
Price: $28 billion.

Well, if we provide you with schematics for the Hauker Drive system, could you replace the current hyperspace system with it?

Yes. We'll do it at no extra charge. Also, while we do not build fighters, perhaps you'd be interested in LACs?

Light Attack Craft (LAC)
Mass (Tons): 10,000
Length Overall (Meters): 82
Maximum Beam (Meters): 30 (70 with strap-on box launchers attached)
Maximum Height (Meters): 15
Maximum Acceleration: (G) 400 in Normal-Space.
Complement: 25 (2 Officers + 23 Warrant/Enlisted)

Armament Mounted / Weapon Mount Placement
Missile Launcher: 15 strap on launchers*
Laser (50cm): 1 per chase.
PD Laser Cluster: 4 per broadside, 2 per chase.
Parasite Complement: One escape shuttle.
~Don't mistake these ships for fighters, at 82 meters in length and with a crew of 25, these vessels are almost full warships. While not FTL capable, these ships are perfect for customs and patrolling the space around your planets.
Cost: $800 million
*carries no internal magazines, each launcher can fire once before resupply is needed.
27-03-2004, 04:06
Wouldn't a LAC be considered a corvette?

We will discuss the possibility of purchasing your ships with our superiors in Galacticorp. However, in the meantime, be assured that you will receive a 10% discount on any shipments you may send via Galacticorp.
Vernii
27-03-2004, 04:13
OOC: Normally an LAC would be considered a corvette, but it's not hyper capable, and my navy doesn't consider any military spacecraft that's not FTL capable a proper warship. The smallest FTL warship my navy operates is a Turbulent class destroyer. I do have cutter designs though, but don't sell them (yet) in my storefront.
27-03-2004, 04:17
We would like to purchase a single Sultan battlecruiser from you, but we request that the hyperspace systems and the shield systems be left out. We will implement that ourselves. Payment will be made on delivery.
Vernii
27-03-2004, 04:24
Very well, that'll be $25 billion. After the 10% discount it'd be 25.2 billion, but we left off two million because you didn't need the shielding systems. Delivery will be in 2 RL days.
27-03-2004, 04:30
Affirmative. We will pay on delivery. Do we need to send a skeleton crew to pick it up?
Vernii
27-03-2004, 04:31
If you wish. Normally we send a skeleton crew and a freighter to transport them back.
27-03-2004, 04:33
However, minus a hyperspace system, it could take a -very- long time to get here. However, after construction is done, can we send a small ship there to add the systems we want it to have, and then depart? It might mean an extra year or so in the slipway.
Vernii
27-03-2004, 04:56
Well, you could send the drive system before construction begins, and it could be added in as the ship is constructed, without that much delay, as engineers could figure out how to integrate it with the rest of the ship as it's being built, and make any modifications necessary right then, rather then after its built.
27-03-2004, 04:58
Considering the difference in our technologies...
Vernii
27-03-2004, 05:05
OOC: That's not very helpful. How much of a tech difference are we talking about here? It should be "fairly simple" for trained engineers, and if you want your engineers can assist in the modification process.
27-03-2004, 05:24
OOC: Well, we are an entirely different race, who has developed technologies that are different then yours. (Think Star Trek vs Wing Commander). I do not beleive your engineers have ever worked on our ships, while it is possible ours have worked on Terran ships. Plus, it is quite often our want to keep our technology in our hands...
Vernii
27-03-2004, 05:27
OOC: Fine, we'll send the ship with the hyper generator still in it, and you can rip it out and put your own system in it after the delivery.
28-03-2004, 04:15
How goes the ships progress?
Vernii
28-03-2004, 04:22
Framework and hull have been completed. Fitting out begins tomorrow. Delivery in 24 Hrs.
29-03-2004, 00:25
Is it en-route?

OOC: Do you have an image of it?
Vernii
29-03-2004, 20:17
OOC: Sorry, I was gone yesterday. Just assume it was sent to you. And yes, I do have a pic, but it's not the best.

EDIT: I have no idea why the image isn't working. The tags are right and the file is right, so it should, but its not.
29-03-2004, 20:23
The ship enters Galacticorp Drydocks, where it will be refitted with native technologies, and it's hull will be modified slightly, to correspond with the 'curvy' nature of Galacticorp ships.
