Transnapastain citizens executed

The Reichhaus (palace of Volgan President)

(President Manstein) "I am tiring of the religion foreign missionaries are bringing to the Most Serene Republic. I have ordered it be made clear to them that religion, other than the Cult of Manstein is forbidden."

(First Minister Grosjean) "Perhaps we can remove this religion menace by forcibly removing these missionaries from the state, my lord."

"I have a better idea, Grosjean. If we were to remove them, they would simply return, strike again. And if we were to kill individuals, they would be treated as martyrs."

"That is true, my lord. Then what can we do?"

"Its quite simple, Grosjean. We take the missionaries, put them against a wall, and shoot the lot of them."

"A brilliant plan, my lord. Perhaps I should hire some assasins to do the work?"

"No, Grosjean. We need it to be public. We need to show that we will not accept foreigners coming into this great nation and preaching their religions."

"Of course, my lord. Do you have any preference for the nationality of these missionaries?"

"Well, they all seem to be coming from Transnapastain...so that will do. Execute every Transnapastain you can find. They are probably all missionaries."

OIS Director General Davis looked alarmed

"They did what!"

The aide looked over her PDA

"Yes sir, Executer Simon isn’t going to like this one bit, they lined the missionaries against the wall and shot them, im cold blood"

"I see,” replied Davis "Contact Kaukolastan, Nialiak, Lumberjacks, Lut Goli...screw it, get the the heads of the Directorates militaries here, or not he line, its time to talk retribution, or at the very least compensation"

"The people will demand blood, the media got it 1st, they've played it all over the PAS (public address system) they are calling for a counter attack, and now"

"I know, but we wait, get me the Executer"

"My lord?"

"Yes Grosjean?"

"The Transnapastains have the execution of their missionaries all over their news services. It seem their public is demanding revenge."

"We both know that the public has no say in government. In our great republic, noone from the public has a say, and look how happy they all are."

"My lord...there is a rebellion in the colonies currently."

"That is beside the point, Grosjean. The Transnapastains will simply not dare to try and strike us. I have blessed us. Let that soothe your worries."

"Yes, my lord."

A man sits in the captains chair of the Armageddonator Class Warship Lithu. He strokes his gotee with his hand, slowly.

"Chancellor Kailian, We have received word from Transnapastain that several missionary civilians were brutally slaughtered by a nation called "The Volga"

"What did you just say?"

"A nation by the name of "The Volga" just murdered innocent Transnapastain missionaries who were in his nation."

"What the hell? What caused this to come about?"

"We do not know yet, Chancellor."

"Inform the Transnapastainian Executer that I am at his disposal. Our great nation may be Aethis, but we do not condon the murder of missionaries from other nations."

"Yes, Chancellor."

Kailian leans forward in his chair and laces his hands together, then places them on his chin. I hate religious wars.

“Well, what can we do?” asked General Davis of his Senior Staff

“Well, SatRec shows possible rebel activity in what we have listed as several Volgarian (please correct this) colonies. We could send in some teams, incite open rebellion, and give Volga another problem to worry about” said a major

“Yes…” considered Davis, difficult task, high failure rate, “Call The ISA, over in Kaukolastan, see if they wouldn’t mind doing this for us, get them all the Intel we have”

“Sir” said the major

“Get the 8th fleet ready to sail, send them in, but keep them legal in international waters, have the 6th move to join them, also, ask Kaillian t send what he will with the 8th when it sets out. “ he considered “Issue an ultimatum, We demand the return of the bodies of the martyrs, A public apology for this crime, 100 thousand USD be paid in compensation to each victim’s family, or face the wrath of almighty God and the Directorate!

“Sir, I shall have that sent,” said a female Major

“That’s all then, get the ISA on the horn stat!”

Secret IC

Sir
We respectfully request that an ISA Insurgent team be dispatch to The Volga, The goal of Operation: Insight is to provoke the people of the colonies into unrest, and open rebellion, and disrupt the enemy, thus gaining us allies and weakening the enemies moral and military might when and if an armed assault should begin

Thank you, attached is all known intelligence on The Volga

The PBS interrupted all electronic communications devices in Transnapastain, radios, TV’s Computer Monitors; all were automatically turned don and turned up.

We can only hope the infidels in Volga can see this too thought Grand Executer Alexander Simon I as he prepared to address his nation and the government of The Volga

“In…5…4…3…2…1….” And the cameraman points at Simon to begin

The Transnapastain flag was replaced with Alexander, standing at his desk, a cross hanging behinds him, the Transnapastain Imperial Flag on his left, and an OIS flag on his right

“Citizens of Transnapastain and the infidel government of The Volga, hear me, for I speak in the name of the Lord.”

“Yesterday at 17:05 TCT, video of missionaries of the COGW (Church of Gods Will) was as well as every Transnapastaini civilian being executed by firing squad was aired on every public news station in the nation. “Psalm 94:21 They band together against the righteous and condemn the innocent to death.” There is no denying this grave injustice visited upon our people. You demand blood, but our God is merciful, and just. “Let ye who is without sin cast the 1st stone” he said unto us. We give to the Volga, then, a chance to earn forgiveness in the eyes of God, and our nation, to earn this, we demand the following
- Compensation be paid, in the amount of 100,000 USD to each missionary and civilians family
- A governmental apology for your crimes
- The return of the bodies of the martyrs

If these demands are not met within 72 hours, you shall feel the Wraith of God upon your nation. As the Lord says in Leviticus 26:7 “You will pursue your enemies, and they will fall by the sword before you.”

“May God have mercy on your souls”

The port was a frenzy of activity, sailors of the 8th fleet saying good bye to loved ones and boarding their ships. The sailors were all board now, on deck and waving to their families and friends
-We’ll miss you!
-Good bless!!!
-I love you Daddy!
-Be careful mommy!

“Attention” said a voice of a loudspeaker, and the crewmen of the fleet snapped to attention on their decks of the ships

“Haha! I didn’t mean it like that, but never the less” commented Admiral Punitz, commander of the 8th Transnapastaini fleet. “I find it only fitting we sing a song, to honor this day” he cleared his throat and a band began

Mine Eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord
The soldiers on the deck and the crowd taking up the song as well
He is trampling out the Vintage
Where the Grapes of Wrath are stored
He has loosed the fateful lighting of his terrible swift sword
His Truth is marching on
Louder now
I have seen him in the watch fires of a hundred circling camps
They have built for him an alter
In the evening dews and damps
I have read his righteous sentence
By the dim and flaring lamps
His day is marching on
Loud, full of enthusiasm, the ships begin to pull away from harbor.
Glory Glory Hallelujah
Glory Glory Hallelujah
Glory Glory Hallelujah
His Truth is marching on

The ships passing by waving Kaukolastaini citizens and the 1st defense fleet now, heading towards the sunset, over the cool waters of the pacific

I have read a fiery gospel writ in burnished rows of steel:
"As ye deal with my contemners, so with you my grace shall deal;
Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with his heel,
Since God is marching on."
He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat;
He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment-seat:
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! be jubilant, my feet!
Our God is marching on.
Glory Glory Hallelujah
Glory Glory Hallelujah
Glory Glory Hallelujah
His Truth is marching on

On the bridge of the Lithu, Chancellor Kailian sits and stares at the wonderful array of colors caused by the setting sun.

"No matter how many times I see it, I am still amazed by it."

"Chancellor?"

Kailian's gaze is broken by a young female officer. "Yes?"

"Chancellor, we have received word from the Transnapastaini Executor."

Kailian senses the officers uneasiness. "Please, at ease, what did they have to say?"

"They requested that we send a fleet with thier 8th fleet."

"I see." Kailian looks into her eyes. "Your uneasiness tells me that you already know what fleet I am sending."

She nods slowly. "I do chancellor. Shall I signal the other ships?"

Kailian leans forward and exhales. "Yes, signal the fleet. Have then on medium alert. Tell the Executor I will be joining the 8th fleet shortly."

She nods and Kailian waves his hand in dissmisal. Hopfully my fleet will see some action this time. The last time we were sent to reinforce a fleet, we ended up launching footballs off the carriers using the catapults. Kailian chuckles. I remember the look on the faces of the families of those who died from the footballs. Priceless. Kailian grins slightly and stares at the sunset again.

"More insanity, Grosjean. Do they think they can defeat me? For I am the Most Serene Republic of the Volga, in person. No mere country can defeat me. I will triumph over their false gods. Any news on movements of their fleets and armies?"

"Yes, my lord. A fleet of theirs has been seen leaving harbour by one of our satellites."

"I will give them a decisive answer. Prepare a wing of bombers to attack these unbelievers. Show them our might. We will not be intimidated."

"Yes, my Lord. It appears that their allies have sent fleets as well."

"Destroy them as well. Do not bother to inform me of their movements any more. Leave it to the Generals and Admirals to work out how best to triumph over these foreign devils. Their missionaries died for a good reason."

7th Bomber Wing, Airbase 3

"General, we have recieved fresh orders from our Glorious Leader."

"Praised be his name! And what are these orders, Colonel?"

"They instruct us to prepare the bomber wing for an attack on an infidel fleet, that is apparently approaching our nation. We may need several dozen bombers, as this enemy fleet is large."

"Inform the Glorious Leader that our bombers shall smite our foes! Prepare 1st through 8th squadrons. Equip them with ASM's and destroy this enemy fleet. Leading the expedition, I have determined, will be Brigadier-General Rayner."

"As you wish sir. May I accompany this attack? I am possessed with a need to destroy our enemies."

"No, Colonel. You are my chief of staff, and it would not be worth losing you."

Airspace above the Most Serene Republic

32 B-2 Spirits cruise over Volgan airspace. Their pilots have recieved their orders, and are travelling towards their enemy.

"Sir, which fleet are we to each attack? I hear there are as many as 3 different ones down there."

"Lieutenant, you and the rest of 1st Squadron, as well as 2nd and 3rd Squadrons, will attack the Transnapastain fleet. The 4th through 6th will attack that of Nailiak. The remainder will attack whichever fleet survives the bombardment best. We want to knock out the enemies air power as quickly as possible."

“Sir, SatRec shows us launches of aircraft from a Volgan base.” said a young major, rushing into General Davis’s office.

“What? What types, what are their targets?”

“No idea General, the pictures suggest B-2 Spirits, we’re tracking them as best we can, no targets identified, but the 6th, 8th, or Nialiak fleets, or all 3, may be the targets, unconfirmed numbers of bombers launched”

“Understood, Alert Kaukolastan to bring the MADAE to alert in case the Directorate is the target, and tell the fleet they have possible incoming, make sure they know they are Stealth, and wont be easy to see.” Said the General

“Yes sir”

Aboard the TNS Redeemer

“What is the status of the fleet?” asked Admiral Punitz

“Sir, The ships have all formed up, and we are half way to our destination, the 6th rendezvous with us tomorrow morning, and the Nailiak fleet is a day and a half behind us. We remain at combat condition yellow.” Said Captain Ester

“Very well” replied the Admiral. “Dismissed”

As she began to walk away, a voice called from the forward bridge

“Admiral, Captain!” we have a communications for OIS SatRec” said the comms operator

“I see” the admiral stood and walked over to where the young man was sitting

“Reports indicate that the Volgans have launched a number, unknown, of bombers possibly B-2’s. Target is unknown but likely to be one of the fleets, they recommend that we got o red alert and but CAP in the air.”

“Indeed, do so, launch the I-1’s and F-41’s one Squadron each (24 ships) and have them fly a screen around us. Get an R-7 to launch and perform high speed recon along the bombers possible approach vectors, and have an E-21 up there to co-ordinate operations, and keep an eye out for Enemy AWACS, without them, the bombers wont be able to acquire target locks unless they turn on their radars, and once they turn on their radars, we have the, because they compromise their Stealth. Send a message to Nailiak Fleets, tell them we're stopping to prepare for a possible attack, and to let them join us, and tellt hem to hurry up!, All stop!
“Yes sir, it will be done” replied the Flight Operations Officer and Comms Officer

20 minutes later the Fighters were on station, the E-21 lighting, and the R-7 begin its recon run

OOC2
I use totally custom aircraft built myself, but here’s what they compare to
I-1 Interceptor = F/A-18 Super Hornet but a little faster
F-41 Warrior = F-22 but less stealth, painted in a radar deflecting material, but can be seen, just harder to spot
E-21 Skyeye = AWACS
R-7 Overseer = SR-71
A-20 Cinder is a faster A-10
B-24 Sword is a B-52 Bomber, but a little smaller and faster
HSB-35 Tiger is a High speed Bomber much like the Aurora or XB-70
AH-8 is a AH-64 Apache
Ships are also custom but I wont really go into it, each fleet has a custom flagship, this one included, has
- 6 12” guns
- 4 16” guns
- 4 18” guns
- Underwater Torpedo Launchers for counter sub
- Multiple SAM launchers

MADAE Command
Bunker 001
700 Meters Below Sea Level

ISA Section Chief Jackson ducked under the last of the pipes and stepped into the control room, moving down the stairs into the first layer of control stations. Arrayed like half a stadium, and sloped inward onto a huge monitor array that showed MADAE status and worldwide maps and feeds from all angles of intelligence. Each layer of controls got deeper and deeper, and there was a mix of ISA, Air Force, and Army Missile Command Officers, combined with the more common MADAE Command Officers and Soldiers, denoted by their "Nine Guns on the Globe" insignia and deep blue uniforms. At the base of the room, at the foot of the giant flatscreen, General Richter glanced up from several aides to give Jackson a hard stare. "Colonel." The MADAE Commander stated, "What's the ISA say?"

Jackson glanced at his binder. "Unknown quantity, sir. We've got at least thirty B-2 Spirit Bombers on takeoff, but we've lost them from then. Spotty contacts in North Pacific, but they're flying safe. We don't know the target."

Richter clenched his teeth. "Could be the Transnapastain and Nailiak fleets, could be homeland... could be show..."

"Exactly, sir. Director Kerrik recommends that we activate the defensive guns, just in case of a strike on the homeland. However, he also recommends no cannonade unless they fire first."

"What's the chances of this being the real thing?"

"Little, sir. Despite their fanatical tendancies, we're projecting a less than one percent option of nuclear strike. Odds favor a show of force first, then a strike on the fleets."

"Alright, we'll go with the ISA on this one." Richter turned to one of his aides. "Major, power up the guns."

"Sir!" The Major turned. "You heard him! I want power to the batteries. Man the AA weaponry, and get the surface on lockdown!" Orders began to fly, and the displays showed the great defensive guns begin to come active. The lights cut to red and the doors began to seal, and there was a building thrum of the high voltage capacitors.

On the surface, the guns rested. Eight six hundred millimeter magnetic cannons, layed out on a rotating cuff to all cardinal directions, sat amid AAA, SAMS, and MTHELS batteries. Sensors and Jammers pointed to the sky, and the Ninth Gun angled ever towards the heavens as it's eight companions lay flat. The stark Corsis plain was silent but for the whistling wind and the creak of steel. Without warning, the silence was shattered by an Air Raid Siren, and then a roar from the ground below. Soldiers bo9iled from bunker entrances, some hidden, some obvious. The batteries came active, swinging about in search patterns. In the distance, jet engines could be heard throttling up at the defensive airbases, and outlying defensive stations came active. But this preparation was nothing compared to the eight guns themselves.

With the clank and rush of powerfull hydraulics, the forward stand pushed back along double rails on each gun, shoving the great barrel skyward. As it rose, it adjusted side to side with the roar of gears. The crackle of electricity could be heard now, and the discharge spines sparked on each gun as the capacitors charged. The humming crackle became a thunderous bellow as the rails reached standby. The guns locked into place with one deafening slam after another, and in the silence that followed, the shunk of shells being loaded could be heard. In case of a strike on the homeland, MADAE was ready.

32km away from enemy fleets

The Volgan bombers cruise in the clouds, knowing that although they are unlikely to be spotted by radar systems, they can still be plain seen by a sharp-eyed spotter on an AWACS. Cruise missiles, 8 from each bomber, designed to almost sit on the ocean on their way to the ships, are launched. Targetted are the enemy carriers first, then ships in order of size. Each carrier is targetted with 4 missiles, while all other targetted ships recieve a pair of missiles aimed at them.

"No staying to see those babies blow, boys. Back to base straight away, else they might send up some fighters to blow the sh!t out of us."

"Okey dokey, Colonel. I reckon those bastards down there deserve every missile that hits."

"Hell yeah, Captain."

Reichhaus

"My Lord, the B-2 Spirit bombers will have launched their missiles by now. Have you blessed their aim?"

"I have, Grosjean. There is no way they could fail. The enemy fleets will be decimated, and they will be forced to sue for peace."

"Maybe the honourable thing to do would be to declare war on them first, sire. Other nations may lose respect for us."

"What need have we for their respect? We are already triumphant in moral causes. As long as we know our nation is great, it matters not what others think."

"Of course, my lord. Let the enemy sailors burn in their demolished ships."

"I heartily agree with you there, Grosjean."

Aboard The TNS Redeemer

One simple word shattered the calm of the bridge

“Incoming!” called the radar operator

“Vectors, now!” yelled Captain Ester

“Ma’am, we have multiple incoming signatures, I count 96, and I repeat NINE – SIX incoming, though that number will drop because these seem to be surface skimmers.”

“Right, prepare the RAM’s on the carriers and Battleships, have the Aries Cruisers try for target locks, and instruct the CAP to find those bombers and try and bring a few down.” said Ester

“Incoming ma’am, in 5…4…3…21…brace for impact!”

The missiles came sailing in, low over the water, a few being lost due to flying only roughly 9 feet of the ground. The streaked into towards the ships, the frigates and destroyers targeted were lost; totally, they could not sustain the massive damages of the incoming missiles. Not being RAM equipped, they had no chance. In all, 10 frigates were lost, and 4 destroyers.

The carriers opened up with their RAM’s and shot several of the missiles out of the sky, one carrier didn’t acquire good target solutions and its counter measures failed, all 4 missiles impacted and cracked the hull, life boats began to separate from the carrier and helicopters lifted off. Another carried was struck by 2 missiles and left intact but severally damaged, the other 2 carriers managed to destroy the incoming missiles.

The Aries cruisers took moderate damage, as their armor was more extensive than that of the carriers. Several took damage from the impacts, 3 were lost.

The battleship managed to shrug off the attacks, to their extensive armor, and RAM’s one lucky hit managed to knock out the engines on one battleship, and the rudder on another one, leaving it stuck over, causing the ship veer off course and continue in a circling motion.

“Damage report!” asked Admiral Puntiz

“Sir, we’ve got no response from at least 10 Frigates, and several destroyers also incommunicado, the Carriers, sir, reports indicate we lost the Intrepid SAR has scrambled from the Divine Right to pick up survivors and the Helios off the ship are landing on the remaining frigates and battleships. 3 Aries cruisers lost, uhh, we got the battleship Benefactor doing donuts and the Savior has lost engines.

“Signal the Nialiak Fleet, let them know they have incoming, inform ships to steer clear of the Benefactor, lest it hit them…we don’t need that. Get repairs going right away, inform Command we have come under fire. What from the CAP?

Above the Fleet, roughly 32k out

“I see them!” shouted Captain Morgan into his radio headset

“AWACS here, we saw them light up when they launched, search pattern on the area, co-ordinate with us for target locks”

“Right, I think I see one of them” said Morgan, indeed in the distance, a black shape could be seen. “Attempting a target lock….locked on! Firing! Ice Blade 1, fox 2”

“Good show, we have other launched reports from Raptor Squadron, we’re not sure if those missiles will hit, fired from extreme range, hopefully they do.”

The Phoenix AAM missiles streaked out from under the wings of three fighters, 2 each, inbound on 3 of the bombers.

((OOC: You didn’t tell me what type of missiles you were using, there’s ,many different types of “fire and forget” surface skimming cruise missiles, I gave you the benefit of the doubt and made it something that could do damage to the fleet, but please specify for future reference, I don’t want to worry about stats and what not too much, but I do need to know about what im dealing with.))

Fleet Admiral Ross, the commander in chief of the Dancing Moose navy, is aboard the DMN Indomitable while his 'subordinate' Admiral Sagumo is aboard the DMN Defflinger, commanding the Fast Attack group.

IC: Aboard the DMN Indomitable, 1200 hrs

Admiral Ross had dozed off in his chair thinking about the situation back home. He hoped Admiral Dean, who had just been promoted, would be able to keep up with the Aust situation. Ross frowned on the thought that he had been ordered by headquaters to go on this 'top secret' mission while Dean was promoted command over three battlegroups. He hoped this mission would be worth it, as the fleet had not seen action in months, except for some mild standoffs.

Ross awoke to the semi-violent shaking the Second-Watch ensign was inducing on him. He leaped out of his chair and flashed a grimace torwards the ensign, who seemed frightened. He glanced out of the corner of his eye at the doorway, where Captain James Taylor stood staring at him, leaning against the doorway.

Taylor: It seems we gave you quite a fright, Admiral (Taylor, a quite optimistic man, never called Ross by the usual 'sir', a trait which Ross seemed to respect)

Ross (with a smile): Hell yes you did!

Taylor: Ensign, go back to the command deck.

Ensign: Yes, sir.

Taylor: Admiral, im terribly sorry to wake you, but reports have come in urgent from headquarters. They seemed quite confidential, and when I read them they revealed the extent of the plans for us.

Ross: Thank god, I thought they would never come. Here, let me see them.

Taylor: Certainly. (He hands Ross a bundle of papers)

Ross: Hmm.. So its another ally backing situation is it?

Taylor: It seems so, although Transnapastian seems to have it covered.

Ross: Well, HQ wants HQ gets. Have the fleet steaming at a steady 31 knots, and have all equipment checked, I dont want any surprises.

Taylor: Very well, Admiral.

Captain Taylor leaves the room while Ross finishes reading the papers. He tosses the bundle on his desk, and leans back into his favorite chair to continue his 'nap'

OOC 2: My fleet will meet up with Transnapastians in 1 and a half NS days, or 4 RL hours.

B-2 Spirit Bombers, returning from attack on Transnapastian

"Shit, we have incoming!"

"Launch counter-measures. They obviously gained visual on us at some point, so I want everyone right into the clouds."

"Roger that, Colonel. They only seem to have locks on three of us. Perhaps those three should make a dive away from the rest, distract the others."

"Agreed. The missiles are heading for...3-4, 4-7, 5-1. You three bombers dive down now."

"Yes, Colonel."

The three bombers dive towards the sea, drawing the missiles towards them. Meanwhile, the rest of the bombers continue on their homebound route, hoping to avoid being spotted. The missiles quickly gain on the bombers, whose pilots know that they have little chance of survival. 3km high into the air, the first bomber is hit. Milliseconds later, the other two are destroyed.

ooc3: remember, my people are fanatics - state propaganda has mindwashed them

Volgan Air Force High Command Headquarters

The various Generals ponder over the situation. With more and more enemies joining the Transnapastianian cause, they are starting to feel perhaps some allies should be brought into the conflict. However, the President has ordered that they should deal with it themselves, and so they shall.

"I feel we should launch wing after wing of bombers, just throw our entire arsenal of cruise missiles at them."

"Perhaps. But this is only a fraction of their strength. We have far more air defence fighters than they do on those carriers. Maybe we should just wait to let them approach our shores. Then we can overwhelm them with air strength. In my Air Group alone there is several hundred fighters, and dozens of bombers."

"That would most likely work. But I have a better, more cost effective plan. The navy has recently purchased a dozen submarines. Perhaps if we ask them -----"

"The navy would never co-operate with us. Its only the will of the President that keeps us from destroying them now."

"So we basically have two options. Launch waves of cruise missiles from our bombers, or allow them to close in, then crush them with air power. I wish we had invested in Nuclear Weapons. They would have destroyed that enemy fleet."

"You know the President's view on nukes. He hates them. And thus, so do we. If I hear you mention them again, I will not hesitate to report you to the Ministry of Information."

"All right, all right. Since General Blucher is the head of the air force, he can decide what tactic we take."

"Yes. I say we.....allow them to come within a few hundred miles, the crush them with our air power."

"Yes, sir."

Reichhaus

"The Air Force reports success against the enemy, my Lord!"

"This is good news. Has the enemy fleet been stopped, Grosjean?"

"No, my Lord. But 1 of their aircraft carrier was destroyed, and another was essentially put out of action. This has halved their combat effectivness. We are yet to hear of the damages dealt yet. Only the damages to two fleets have been said. There is one more fleet we are yet to recieve data on."

"Excellent...send a message to their leader, demanding they cease this war, or we will kill more of their citizens. Threaten to launch air raids on their nation! Tell them we have Nuclear Weapons if it comes to that. Despite my hatred of the cowards who use such things."

"My Lord! It will be as you have said."

Upon hearing the news ensuing battles over the loudspeakers throughout the nation, millions of Lumberjacks inform their employers, which is the government, that they are leaving for war. The lumberjacks have therefore went home, got their rifles and moonshine and headed to their recruitment posts. The ranks of the Lumberjack military have swelled to numbers never before thought possible. The lumberjacks are pissed off and dunk and are now heading to put to fillin their designated ranks and divisions and are now mobilizing the ever so quiet war machine that is the economy. Chancellor Bruno has informed Transnapastain that it is behind it and will send all at its disposal and smite these treacherous idiots.

Kailian stands on the bridge of the Lithu. He gaze focused on the horizen. In the distance he spots several small flashes and he wences.

"Chancellor, we have incoming comms from the TNS Redeemer."

"Lets hear it." Kailian turns around and approaches the communications station. The comms officer keys a few buttons and a loudspeaker roars to life.

"Attention Nailiakian Fleet. We have taken missile fire, repeat, taken missile fire. Damage is moderate. Steer clear of the Bennefactor, repeat, stay away from the Bennefactor!" Static erupts from the loudspeaker.

Kailian strokes his chin. "Move all cruisers and destroyers behind the Lithu, then move the Hazards into a protective ring around us. Have them ready thier decoy systems. Move the carriers and other frigates to a safe distance and put all pilots on launch standby. Order all units to prepare for combat and to expect casualties!"

"Yes, chancellor." The comms began to relay his orders to the fleet.

"And for cry out loud, get that damn AWAC linkup online!" Kailian yells and throws his hands up in the air.

Kailian walks over to the bridge window and gazes at the horizen. We draw close to the battle. In minutes we will meet up with the 8th fleet and offer assistance. Damn, I hope we have enough medical supplies.

A voice breaks Kailian's thoughts. "Chancellor! We have reports from our AWAC that a flight of bombers was momentarily spotted fleeing from the Transnapastaini 8th fleet! The pilot suggests they were B-2 Spirits, that would explain thier spotty radar appearance."

"Oh man. Alert all home costal air bases and have them on bomber standby. This is going to get ugly." Kailian thinks. "And where the f*** is thier navy!?"

"Chancellor, our subs report no activity what-so-ever." The comms officer blurts out.

"This is strange. What kind of nation fights a naval battle without naval units?" Kailian asks.

"A very strange one, chancellor." replys Ellison.

"Agreed." Kailian strokes his chin.

“How go the repairs?” asked Admiral Puntiz

“Err” replied captain Ester. Looking over her clipboard “The Commendable is a loss, about half the crew with her and ¾ of her aircraft, only helicopters made it off. We’ve finally fixed the frickin rudders on the Benefactor and the engines on the Savior are operating at 85%. The frigates and destroyers that took hits are all losses, and the three Aries cruisers are gone too. We’ve sent a comms home asking for tugs to come pick up the Admirable (the damaged carrier) and tow it home.”

“Report of fleet states?” he asked

“The Nailiak Fleet has joined us and the 6th will be here shortly. We’ve received word from the Directorate, the Lumberjacks want to come out and play sir.”

“Oh lord…that’s scary…uhh, well, we cant decline their offer, so, have them send us sub to cover us, since we have none, they can augment the Nailiak sub force. Also, if it comes to landing in the Volga…yeah…. have them do it…1st”

Admiral Puntiz had only been to Armed Lumberjacks once, and he’d never forget his visit, it was like an entire nation engulfed in a huge redneck family reunion.

“Well, All stop, until the other fleet reaches us, ask Command to send us 2 new carriers from the reserves, that ought to get here in about 2-3 days.

Ooc: you statement about nukes is kinda confusing, you say you don’t have them, but you also threaten to use them, is the military operating as a separate body from the government? Or are you threatening nuclear retaliation as a bluff?

IC: Action stations are being sounded aboard my ships, and the Ticonderoga class guided missile cruisers Cabot and Renown are falling astern of the battleship Indomitable to prepare to fire. In the fast attack group, the NightStalker Class missile destroyers Sydra and Badger are also preparing to fire.

DMN Indomitable- 0700 hrs

Ross: So, are we ready to get underway?

Captain Taylor: Yes, reports indicate the Cabot and Renown are ready to fire, and Sagumo has responded that the order to fire has been confirmed aboard his ships.

Ross: Very well. Wait for my order, and then do it. And your sure you got the coordinates right?

Taylor: Yes, of course Admiral.

Ten minutes later, Admiral Ross gave the order and on the surface of the ships Cabot, Renown, Sydra, and Badger, the screeching sound the men had heard in training occured again. In seconds, the missile batteries aboard the ships had come to life and filled the air with exhaust and, of course, missiles.

OOC: I have fired 31 BGM-109 Tomahawk conventional cruise missiles at your coastal military fortifications.

OOC: I'm not exactely sure what my transports would be called. When they launch they head up almost to space, then at the highest point start back for the surface. Taking sometimes two hours to get from point to point on Earth. Is that sub-orbital? I am unsure and need clarification on this subject.

From any who can answer, would be great. :)

ISA Argus Observation Post

The satellite images flickered past on the plot boards, and Sub-Director Allens rubbed his thumb to his forefinger as he watched. To the sides, other analysts were explaining to the assembled ranking officers and advisors. Allens picked up the high resolution images of the B-2 Spirit bombers, captured from the combat zone.

He turned to General Cross with the packet of glossy 8x10 colored photographs. "General, we got a confirmation on those bombers. Your boys were right... Spirits."

Cross chomped on his cigar and turned to Rear Admiral Richards. "You boys can deal with stealth, can't ya?"

Richards snorted, "Of course, General. Triangulation, satellites, and optics.... the unholy trinity for stealth." He shrugged. "Not to mention the LIDAR systems."

Allens glanced at the picture of oil and wreckage, drifting in the waters. "It's a mess out there. Any plans thus far?"

"No, Sub-Director." Cross reported. "We're watching and waiting. Transnapastain should be able to negotiate an end to this. If Volga insists on belligerence, we'll support our allies. If they come for the homeland, we'll react with ferocity. Until then, we observe and aide in non-combat roles."

"Very well. We'll continue to update Transnapastain, Nailiak, and Dancing Moose with any information we can get from ELINT and SIGINT. There's no real HUMINT yet, so we're watching from the heavens."

Cross asked, "What's the status on the bird?"

"Inbound as we speak." Allens stated, and all eyes turned to the video feed...

SR-95 "Aesir"
Approximately 100,000 Feet Above Sea Level
Mistakenly dubbed "Aurora" in a budget list nearly a decade before, the SR-95 was the premier of spy planes. Over the course of it's life span, it had been dubbed "Aurora", "Black Widow", and even the innocent "Senior Citizen", but it's true name was the "Aesir". It's propulsion was unique in design, and powerful in application.

Shaped like an elongated, flattened diamond, the skin was covered in heat resistant ceramics, and there were no cockpit windows. Powerful jet engines pushed the Aesir to the extreme altitudes, and to the velocity of Mach 3.2, that were needed. At this point, fuel mist was ejected from the fuselage midsection, at the diamond's break-point. It spread across the aft surface tiles, into the area between the fuselage and a shock wave attacked to this break. In essence, the sloping, converging aft fuselage sections formed the inside of a 'nozzle' and the shock boundary constitutes the outer surface, creating an expanding exhaust effect, much like that on a conventional rocket. The fuel was ignited by surface heating, creating combustion that accelerated the aircraft up to speeds approaching Mach 8.

The Aesir bucked as it skipped from the atmosphere again, and the inferno snarled around the aft of the speeding aircraft. Like a great burning stone on the ocean, the craft bounced through the air. Inside, Colonel Jack Holly grimaced inside of his gel-suit. The hi-tech G-suit kept him alive and well, but he could feel his mass pulling him back into his crash couch as the Aesir rocked again, another firestorm roiled from the hull.

Beside him, Lt. Colonel Marie Abernathy commented through gritted teeth, "You think they see us coming?"

Holly might have shrugged, but he was too pushed in to move like that. "Can they stop us?" There was an agreeing harumph from across the cockpit as another blast shook them. Holly glanced at the holographic HUD, deprived of any true "view" outside of the Aesir. "We're approaching Volgan territory. Starting slow run."

As Holly activated the next sequence, Abernathy ran a systems check. "All go."

"Initiating." Holly flipped the killswitch, and the external reaction ended in one last corona of fire. The scramjet roared back to life as the plane dropped to a "slow" Mach 4. Ports slid open, and sophisticated recon cameras began to shutter. The Aesir flashed over the coastal emplacements and airbases, running IR, optical, and EM scans at constant rates.

Abernathy turned to Holly. "We've got the data. I think they did notice us, looking at the activity below." She made a thumbing motion towards the ground far below.

Holly snorted. "Right. Lighting the burner." The fuel mixture sprayed again, and with a sudden report that shattered glass for miles, the Aesir was punted forward by a tremendous blast of fire.

As quickly as it came, it was gone. The bulbous contrail could be seen for miles, but the craft was long departed.

“Yea, it was there….then it wasn’t, it just came and went, really fast…” replied the bewildered Radar Operator

“Sir, other ships are reporting contact as well, crewmembers on the decks report seeing a large fireball in the sky, and hearing multiple explosions, Furthermore, Comms says it was broadcasting a Kaukolastani IFF code…sir, I think it was a plane….” Reported the Comms officer

“Uhh, any idea how fast it was going?” asked Captain Ester

“Roughly Mach 8……ma’am…”

“Very good, I want the op launched so that it will be dawn for them, we want to minimize civilian casualties wherever we can. Lets remember we aren’t fighting total war here.” Replied Supreme Commander Harlim

“Sir, yes, sir!” she said and hung up

She pressed the button on her desk and spoke into the intercom “Melissa? Get me Colonel Rogress in here, on the double”

After about 5 minutes a man walked into her office and offered her a crisp salute

“Colonel Rogress, reporting as ordered ma’am!” he declared

“At ease Colonel” she said and handed him a map “You see here the contact we have dubbed VAB 1, I want it gone. You will leader the 12th HSB wing to this site, and destroy it. After being informed of the mission, you’re people are restricted to base, no outside contact allowed, so have them make family phone calls and what not 1st.” said Jennings

“Yes ma’am, when do we launch?” asked Rogress

“You’ll launch at 00:59 tomorrow, and arrive at the target at 06:32, you’ll be using Fuel Air Explosives for the 1st run, which would be 4 of your planes, you’re primary targets are exposed faculties, and any aircraft on the runways and parking ramps. The next 3 will be targeting strategic instillations with precision guided JDAM’s to target hangers and the Control building, as well as the comms dish and one will hit the runway with Durandal unguided bombs. The last 2 will carry surface penetrating munitions in order to detonate what we believe are the underground fuel storage tanks, form the IR readings.” She paused “You’ll becoming in north of the 6th, 8th, and Nailiak 1st which are on station nearby, if you make friends, the Fleets, which you will overshot on your way out, will be waiting with CAP to welcome your unwanted infidel companions. Remember, if you ARE shot down, detonate your craft, and do not let it fall into enemy hands. Are there any questions?”

“No ma’am, we will not fail our Lord” he exclaimed

“See that you don’t, dismissed”

00:59, leaving Shiner AFB

“Alright Boys and girls, this is the real deal not another run on the Fields of Hell…so this time, they may shot back, be ready, we’re pretty untouchable on the way in, we’re too high and fast for em, on the way out though, it might be tricky, the Navy Wanna-be pilots will be waiting to pick our tails clean, but lets all come home today. On final approach to the target

“Alright boys, lets dive!” said Colonel Rogress

The HSB-35 Tigers
http://picserver.org/view_image.php/594831/128

Which were cruising at 70,000 feet and somewhere around mach 3.5 begin a dive towards the deck, leveling off at 40,00 feet at mach 4, and right at the point of release, they 1st wave released their FAE bombs, using the “fling” method, and begin to climb back to 70,000 feet

The bombs sailed in at their target, and, at about 50 feet, released a vapor, which covered a large area around the bomb…the bomb impacted on the ground

And the vapor ignited

The resulting explosion light up the dark morning, fire washed over surface targets, AA emplacements melted, buildings were reduced to rubble, ammo stores ignited, secondary explosions rocked the earth. 2 FAE’s impacted on the Parking Ramp, though it was unknown if any aircraft were sitting on it, if there were they were now nothing more than slagged metal

The second wave of bombers saw only the resulting infernos as they released their JDAM’s. The Joint Direct attack Munitions Precision Guided bombs sailed in at their targets, the Comms/radar dish, command building, and hangers.

The 4th plane in 2 Flight released is Durandal Anti-runway bombs towards the runway, the pilot had released right when the programs told him to, and he’d been right on target, but these being dumb bombs, nothing was certain.

The last two bombers had the potential to do much more damage to their base, then their GBU-28 Bunker Busters could hope for. Their targets were the Fuel Storage tanks, located near the parking ramp. If those could be ignited, the resulting explosion would be seen for miles around, and turn this air base into scrap. The pilots pickled and resumed their climb back to 70,000ft

“Rear camera shows pillars of fire in the night sky, and SatRec feeds from the OIS report infrared readings off the chart, we hit them hard boys, good work! Lets get home,” said Rogress as the bombers sailed off towards Transnapastain, a mission completed

The bombers streaked off into the sunrise, heading towards the fleet

Onboard the TNS Redeemer

“Sir, OIS reports mission complete, the 12th is outbound” said the Radar Officer

“Sir, CAP reports on station, if there’s fighters following our birds, we’ll get em” said the Flight Operations Officer

"Good news, my Lord. The leaders of 'Dr_Twist' have sided with us in our quest for victory against the heathens from Transnapastian. They have said they cannot afford to send soldiers to our victory, but nevertheless they wish us luck."

"Excellent, Grosjean. Inform them that we do not need their aid anyway, as we can hold out against any attacks that these fools may make. Order the Generals to strike the enemy. Launch missiles at their homelands. We will kill their civilians. Keep up the facade of us having nuclear capablity."

"Of course, my Lord."

8th Bomber Wing

The enemy bombers leave destruction in their wake. Hundreds of base personnel have died, but that is not the real cost. Of the 29 B-2 Spirit Bombers in hangers, just 2 have been salvaged. While this is a mere fraction of the air strength of the Volga, it is a reminder to the leadership of the Air Force that they are not immune to enemy counter-attacks. With the message coming from the President that they are to strike back, bombers are prepared to strike back. Unlike the more technologically advanced enemy, the Volgans do not have super-fast, stealthy air units. What they do have, however, is more funding then the army and navy recieve - if added together and multiplied by 10. In a show of ridiculous strength, 450 B-1B Lancers are prepared for the largest air attack ever made in Volgan history. With them will travel hundreds of fighters, scores of refuelling aircraft and, of course, over a thousand pilots. They will leave soon (in my next post).

33rd Coastal Defence Division, Sevastapol

The staff recieved no warning. The missiles hit, creating a huge explosive destructive fireball. Soldiers fell, coastal guns were dislodged, but despite this, very little serious damage was done. Other than the few hundred dead soldiers, and the score of dislodged and damaged 18" guns, nothing was achieved. A replacement battalion of guns would arrive within two days, and in the meantime there were still easily enough guns to cover any attack short of a full scale invasion.

Army of the Most Serene Republic, HQ

(Field Marshall Klutenberg) "We must strike back. The impertinent attack of the enemy on that Air Force base was intolerable. And, even worse, I am afraid I have to inform you that that base housed our only B-2 bombers. According to the latest reports, we have two left. No more. Does anyone have any ideas?"

(Lieutenant-General Kitchener) "I suggest we launch a special forces unit. We could create some havoc within the civilian population, which would escalate as rumours spread. We could demoralise the populace."

(General Flourburg) "Its an idea. How large would this unit be?"

(Kitchener) "I think we would use perhaps a battalion of soldiers, spread out over the entire country. As commander of the Special Forces, I could find the right men for the job. I'm thinking the 2nd Battalion/41st Light Infantry Regiment. We all know that the Light Infantry are the men for the job."

(Flourburg) "Certainly. They are the elite infantry. The only problem remaining is how to get them there."

(Kitchener) "Well, I think I could get my hands on a merchant ship, which we could fill with Dr_Twist crews, ones who agree with what we are doing here. Transnapastian would not dare lay hands on a Dr_Twist ship, as they could walk into this war and most likely force a victory."

2nd Battalion/41st Light Infantry Regiment, HQ

(Lieutenant-Colonel Roberts) "They picked me for a reason. Kitchener has a plan. He wants to create a new independent republic. A republic along similar lines to our current 'democratic' one, just with him in control. And I plan to help him with it. We can gain the support of Transnapastian for our revolt, then lead those army Corps which we can swing to our side."

(Captain Daniels) "Brilliant, sir. But what if there are loyalists about?"

"Ah, that is the best bit. The system has brainwashed them so far that if we replace one god-like figure with another, they will barely know the difference. The key to this is to first use our battalion as emissaries, then to use it to assasinate the President, and put Kitchener in charge."

"Yes, sir. Do we leave now?"

"Yes."

Aboard Dr_Twist ship Alexandria

"Well, Captain Daniels, do you think we can get through the surrounding navies?"

"I am not too sure, Lieutnenant-Colonel. If they do take us, we can possibly still accomplish our mission though."

"Perhaps. It would be much harder though. You know that the state refuses to take in those who have failed it."

The Alexandria continues on its course through the opposing fleets......

The Alexandria gradually neared the coast of Transnapastain. Instead of making straight for port, it went down the coast, dropping of its soldiers in dinghys as it went. By the time it reached the main Transnapastain port, [NAME], only the Lieutenant-Colonel was still on board. The ship slowly moved into the harbour, and straight to the customs office walked the Colonel, demanding to be sent to the Transnapastain High Command.

MSRVDF (or VDF) HQ

"How goes the 2nd/41st, General Kitchener?"

"Well, sir, I have ordered that they make no radio transmissions, so I guess we will not find out for quite some time. When they start raiding small towns I expect they will transmit to us short messages."

"Good. I've decided that we cannot simply sit here any longer. The Air Force is gathering a gigantic fleet of bombers, the Navy is sending out a dozen submarines to attempt to create havoc among the opposing ships, and all the Army has managed is a single battalion of soldiers, raiding the enemy civilians. I want some action."

"Well, we could try and slip some ships past what is essentially the Transnapastain Coalition's blockade of our shores. Or, better yet, we could send troops to one of our allies, then launch them against Transnapastain from there..."

The Dr_Twist Freighter sailed in past the 16” costal cannons into the harbor proper and docked

An OIS Costumes Agent, and two OIS Officers flanking him, approached the gangway.

“Permission to come aboard?” asked the lead OIS agent. Of course this was just a formality, the Agents would come aboard weather or not the captain allowed it

“Granted” said the captain

The 3 officers ascended the ramp onto the deck of the ship

“We’re here to search your ship for illegal contraband, you will disclose your manifest to me, and then allow us unrestricted access tot his vessel, we will leave when we are satisfied that there is nothing illegal aboard this ship, do I make myself clear?” asked the gruff agent

The agents began their search of the ship, looking everywhere cargo holds, opening random boxes, crew bunks, the bridge, engine room, when they had finished, they returned to the deck

“Sir, the cargo matches the manifest,” said one agent

“Indeed” said the Officer in charge

He regarded the Captain

“Thank you, you have been most compliant, you are cleared for dock for 72 hours, after which time you will be provided with out bound vectors, do not deviate from your course, staying longer than your visa permits is punishable by impoundment of your vessel and imprisonment of your crew. We retain the right to hold your ship here for any reason we deem necessary, Do you understand? Good Thank you and have a nice day”

Lieutenant-Colonel Roberts approaches the local customs office. He enters, and heads straight to the main desk.

"I demand that I be sent straight to the local military base."

"And who would you be, coming in here and demanding things?"

"I am Lieutenant-Colonel Roberts of the Defence Force of the Most Serene Republic of the Volga. I am here to discuss certain matters with your Generals."

"Uh....ummmm.......OK! I'll call a car from the Port Alexander barracks immediately. They will set up a trip for you to Military HQ. Just wait one second..."

The staff member triggers in alarm to OIS headquarters. Within seconds local agents of the OIS have alerted their superiors and are driving to pick up Roberts.

Scattered across the Transnapastain coast

All along the coast, groups of highly trained Volgan light infantry have landed, and have quickly moved inland, avoiding the fairly lax patrols. The Transnapastainians have nothing to fear, as their fleet is blockading the main threat to their independence. The 80 groups of 5, each commanded by a corporal, with 1 in 3 groups having a Sergeant and Lieutenant, and 1 in 9 having a Captain and Company Sergeant-Major. The overall leader is Major Williams, who is in his own group. As soon as they reach an area around 40km inland, half the groups continue in, while the rest start setting up section harbours, in preparation for raids. Those remaining are led by the Battalion 2IC, Captain Daniels, who will ensure that Transnapastain forces are drawn to that area. Major Williams continues on, with orders to try and knock down major air defences that he spots.

"Kitchener. Any word yet?"

"Well sir, the freighter reports that it dropped off its men safely, and did not hear any reports of capture on its radio scanning. However, we cannot be completely sure that all our men arrived safely."

"We can only hope for the best. Now, General Anderson, you say that the Transnapastainians have some sort of advanced air defence technology?"

"Yes sir. They have a system known as MADAE. According to our intelligence reports, it uses very small Nuclear Warheads to destroy any clumps of aircraft that gather. It covers the entire region that Transnapastain is in, so attacking it may be inadvisable."

"Perhaps. But if we're going to bomb these bastards, we have to be able to get in there."

"Yes sir. My engineers found a weakness in this system. They believe that if we have our bombers and fighters fly in extremely low, that the operators of the MADAE will not use it for fear of damaging their allies defensive fighters and positions."

"Interesting...is there anyway we can completely knock out this 'MADAE'?"

"Well, there is basically two ways. The first involves sending in small groups of Commando's to knock out its sensor array, then using a strike of quick bombers to destroy the base itself. The second is more expensive. It would involve sending a huge swarm of bombers at it from every direction, at a very low trajectory, and hoping to lift at the last moment and destroy it. I recommend trying the first option first, and if it comes to it, using the second. If we had ICBM's....."

"No! We do not use weaponry like that. It is the orders of the President....!"

Back at the Navel ports several detachments of subs left port. One detachment heads for Transnapastain's fleet while the rest begin patrol all coasts and open seas. As surface ships have been refurnished and relased from dry dock, the form together with who is also finished and head out to begin patrolling actions.
Bruno eyes one ship as he sees one of his newly completed ship leaves a port. The ship is one of old concept but new design. It is called the Flak Kroozer since it uses several automatic flak cannons and several dozen 20mm antiaircraft cannons. It also is supplied with several anti-air missles. There are several observation piosts all over the ship that looks for low flying aircraft. This in combination with the best radar technology aquired from their allies will make slipping through patrols much harder. THis ship will work with the AEGIS Cruisers to better their anti-air capability. PLus Bruno is also thinking about its potential as a coastal defense bashers will all its armament. But that thought can wait. Bruno is only know waiting for a reply from is ally on how he should come to his aide with his ground forces who are know spread out throughout his country. Alexander City

The OIS staff car tore from the OIS command Center in Alexander City. The drive not bothering to stop at the red lights. Its lights flashing and siren wailing

“What have we got?” asked Colonel Fires, head of Regional Intelligence

“Well, it seems we got someone from the Volga in our nation, sir” replied his aide Major Aries.

“You mean we captured him?” asked Fires

“No sir, he more or less turned himself in, he walked right into the customs office at Port Alexander and demanded to be taken to the local military base” said Aires

“I see, well, lets pick him up, we’ll bring him back here…inform General Davis” said Colonel Fires

The car pulled into the customs buildings parking lot, Colonel Fires, Major Aries, talking on her cell phone, and 2 OIS Agents pilled out of the car and walked into the building. Major Aires took up a position by the door, While Fires and the 2 agents continued inside. An OIS customs agent met them

“Sir,” he said and saluted. “My name is Lieutenant Jerry, we have the Colonel from The Volga locked up in the back right now.” He said

“Take me there” said Fires

The 4 men went into the back of the building and Jerry unlocked a small office. Inside, they found the man, sitting on a couch, half asleep. He woke p and sprang to his felt, Fires and the two agents instinctively went for their guns.

“Wait, My name is Lieutenant-Colonel Roberts, from Defense Force of the Most Serene Republic of the Volga, I mean you no harm, I demand to speak to your Generals…” said the man

Fires considered. “You will submit to any security precautions I deem necessary, including blindfold and having your hands bound. A full weapons search, including x-rays, and then we will take you to see the General.” He said “Do you understand?”
The man nodded

“Good, Sergeant, cuff him, and blindfold him, put him in the car, gently please.” Said Fires

Fires departed as the two men moved forward to carry out their assignments, he walked back out into the lobby where Major Aries was waiting

“Did you contact Valhalla?” asked Fires

“Yes sir, they report weather conditions are good enough for a V-22 to take off, so the General will be at the Command building here in Alexander City within 2 hours.” answered Aries

“Okay, good.” Said Fires just as the prisoner was being brought out of the back, led by the OIS agents.

Fires and Aries got into the car, and the agents put the man into the back and climbed in. The driver again tore off, speeding back towards the command building.

When they returned, the driver pulled back into the secure parking lot. There were about 5 men waiting, 4 agents and a Captain

“Captain, this man is Light Colonel Roberts, from the Volga. He is not a captured spy, and is to be treated with care, he is to undergo X-rays to located any hidden weapons, and then place him in a holding cell, alone, until the General arrives.” Said Major Aries

“Yes ma’am” said the Captain, as he and the men hustled the prisoner away.

Valhalla Command Center
Helipad 002
Transnapastain

General Davis walked out into the helipad. Technically indoor, it was a cylinder which close straight up into a large metal door, much like a silo, but larger, 4 V-22 Ospreys sat inside this room. One of them had been moved to the middle, and its engines were just now beginning to spin up. Davis walked over to the helicopter and climbed in, the pilot turned around to great him

“Good afternoon sir, we will be under way inside 5 minutes.” He said

“Thank you, captain” said General Davis

He was incredibly curious about why the Alexander Division Chief had called him here at Valhalla and asked him to come to the Alexander Command building right away, and had placed the call under priority Red. He couldn’t think of something so important that it would require his personal attention. Unless it happened to have to do with either Mind Blade, the mysterious drug which had decimated Maylor City, and was now confined to the Jarout Harbor distract, if a ship had somehow managed to get Blade into other parts of the country, there was going to be trouble. The only thin he could think of was Volga. That didn’t make much since because the Alexander Division of the OIS had nothing to do with the Volgan situation, its chief, Colonel Fires, was head of Regional Intelligence.

oh well, it doesn’t matter, I’ll find out just as soon as I get there, better to not worry he thought

The Helicopter lifted into the blowing, driving snow. It bucked and heaved a little, but the pilot kept it under control, and they began their flight towards Alexander City

Alexander City

Colonel Fires was waiting on the roof when the V-22 settled down. The General stepped out, and Fires approached.

He stopped and offered a salute “Sir, its good to see you”

General Davis returned the salute “Indeed it is, what have you got for me Fires?” asked Davis

“Sir, what I got is a Volgan Defense Light Colonel sitting in my holding cells demanding to see you.” Replied Fires

“Um, try that again?” asked Davis in disbelief

“No sir, its true.” Answered Fires

“Well, I’ll be damned, how id he get in, and when was a captured?” asked Davis

“Well, sir, we aren’t sure how he got in, but he wasn’t captured, he walked right into the customs building at Alexander Harbor and demanded to be taken to the local military base, we went and picked him up, and how he’s here.”

Well, then lets go see him” said Davis

“Yes sir” said Fires

As they left the helipad, Colonel Fires pulled out his cell phone and dialed Major Aries

“Bring the Volgan to conference room 2” he said into the phone

“Yes sir” she answered

The men continued on into the conference room, and waited, soon, a man was brought in, blindfolded and bound, by 4 OIS agents and Major Aries.

“Remove his blindfold.” Said Davis

One of the guards reached up and tugged on the blindfold, it came off.

“Have a seat.” Said Davis, seated at the head of the table, Fires to his right, and Aries taking a seat to his left. The man took a seat at the end of the table, two guards flanking him, and another two with MP-5’s flanking the door

“So, do tell me, Lieutenant-Colonel Roberts, why it is you have come to us?”

"I have come to you with a proposal from my leader, Lieutenant-General Kitchener. He believes he can end the needless war between our two nations in one fell swoop.

He wants the support of your nation in a revolution he plans to lead. He controls the light infantry forces of our nation (equivalent to USMC), and thus can decimate and demoralise any regular units that stand against him. With this power, he can storm the compound of the President, and install himself in his place. Within a few years, democratic elections may occur."

2nd Battalion/41st Light Infantry Regiment, Major Williams Group

Major Williams leads his forces in a rough movement inland, towards what intelligence reports is the heartland of Transnapastain. Once there, they will begin raiding homesteads and small villages, massacring all but a few villagers in each...

2nd Battalion/41st Light Infantry Regiment, Captain Daniels Group

The forces under the control of Captain Daniels have struck out at the local military barracks, converging with their full force of 200 men on it, driving in with Steyr AUG's (carbine version) blazing. Once defence had been eliminated, powerful bombs were planted, and the base was destroyed quickly. The troops flee in all different directions, thereby hoping to confuse pursuit enough for the majority of them to escape alive.

VDF HQ, Astrakhan

"Now, we have all agreed that this MADAE must be removed. It is in K-stani territory, which could create a possible diplomatic problem. I think if we drop perhaps 50 light infantrymen in there, and knock out sensor systems, we could send bombers quickly to knock out these nuclear warhead cannons my engineers are so afraid of."

"Yes. General Kitchener, did you have any men in mind for the job?"

"Well, there is the 1st Battalion/41st Light Infantry Regiment. The 41st is the best Light Infantry Regiment, and with a platoon or two of it parachuting into K-stan, I doubt our enemy would know what hit it. And we can simply rule this as being a pre-emptive strike. I'll prepare a force. We need to work out a way to get them in, other than parachute, which is quite obvious."

"Same as last time? With the freighter?"

"Sure."

“Indeed?” asked General Davis, a military, Transnapastaini friendly government would put a quick end tot his war, and save them the trouble of having to partake of ground assaults.

“We can provide this help, Can you provide our men safe entrance into your nation? Safe places to operate? Weapons? Supplies?

His cell phone vibrated

“One sec” he said, opening his phone “Its Davis...yeah?.....what!....when...did you get any of them? Still looking? Look harder! I want them apprehended YESTERDAY! Do you get me?” he slammed the phone shut

“We have another problem...a barracks outside Acclux was destroyed this morning, Very few survives, an OIS officer who survived spoke of para-military types assaulting their position, taking them completely by surprise. This has to be a Volgan team who somehow got into the nation, and i want you to provide me with information.” said Davis

PBS, Channel 11, TNN News update

..and so, you see why...wait, this just in! An assault occurred this morning on the outskirts of Acclux, a military barracks has been bombed by terrorists, many men and women lie dead. We now go to John Kelly, who is in the field” said the TNN reporter

The scene changed to a man, wearing military BDU's, behind him, a pillar of fire rose into the sky, OISCRU (Office of Internal Security Crisis Response Units) swarmed around the area, OISCRU and Military gunships flew patrols and the distinct sound of jet engines could be heard.

“This is John Kelly, TNN, and im reporting from Barracks 112, outside Acclux, where, minutes ago, a bomb was detonated inside a military barracks building.

The man moved towards the barracks and approached a Colonel

“Sir, what happened here?” he asked

“We aren't sure, all we know is that a bomb was detonated, survives report a para-military assault by unknown forces. Thats all i can say” replied the Colonel

“I see and have we apprehended these terrorists?” asked the reporter

“Not yet, we are searching the surrounding area in an attempt to find them, and find them we shall” said the Colonel

later that day, secure meeting area, Alexander OIS building

“We aren't prepared to fight a guerrilla war.” said General Clout, Transnapastains Ground Forces commander.

“Then who us?” asked Supreme Commander Harlim

“Well, we could ask Armed Lumberjacks to send us some soldiers, they're frickin crazy, and they know forest fighting, so they may be of some use” suggested Major Aries

“Yea, do that, but also, contact Kaukolastan, and ask them to send us some men too, They've run into these same tactics before, they can help us.” said Davis

“Right, I'll send the messages right away” said Colonel Fires

“In the meantime,” said Harlim, turning to General Jennings “Step up CAP around the nation, have some of the sats turned around to watch out nation, take IR readings of the forests around Acclux, also, have helicopter gunships on patrol around major cities and bases.” he turned to Clout “Increase security at all bases, and provide extra forces to the OIS agents already in place in government buildings, and send in men to augment the local police forces. Also, get out there and sweep those woodlands"

both generals nodded

“Okay, if thats all....” the meeting ended

OOC: Each major city has a joint service base located near it, as well as bases all over the countryside. Those are locked up tight, you're men would be slaughtered trying to get into one. Same goes for major cities government buildings, though that might be easier. For the purpose of this RP, we'll say the smaller cities, which you seem to wanna hit, have small, lightly defended bases near them, a few buildings, some barracks, a motor pool, maybe a heliport, nothing huge, so its not as heavily defended as the bases, also note, DO NOT try to bomb bridges with our men, i defend my bridges very well, Each are built re-enforced, with an underlying and wider platform which houses Anti-Aircraft weaponry and other weapons, theres a checkpoint at the beginning and end of each bridge.

"I can help you remove this threat. It was only through this force I was able to get into your country. They are the 2nd Battalion/41st Light Infantry Regiment. The Light Infantry are the elite forces of the Most Serene Republic, and Lieutenant-General Kitchener commands them. This is the basis of our plan to take over the Volga. Kitchener will take a battalion and storm the Reichhaus, installing himself as leader. After that he will make peace with Transnapastain.

However, there is a problem. The 41st Light has orders to maintain complete radio silence. Therefore I cannot contact them. The battalion is 400 strong, so attacks should start occuring everywhere."

Outside Transnapastain town of [name], population: 72,000

The Volgan commando's move silently through the grass near the Transnapastainian base. Inside it, scouts had spotted a few armoured cars, and a pair of utility helicopters. While realising that their attacks didn't really affect the Transnapastain military efficiency, they were aware that it could demoralise civilians and 'grunts' alike.

The two ten man groups were under the overall command of Corporal Jackson. The battle-plan was simple. One team would move in, silently dispatch sentries, and plant bombs on vehicles. The other would watch the barracks, ready to lay down heavy fire. The second team had both machine-guns, ready to simply spray.

**whispering**

"Private Jenkins, set the bombs off now."

"Ok, Lance-Corporal. Is the other team ready?"

"Would I be telling you to set the bombs off if they weren't? Now do it!"

The bombs placed among the vehicles and helicopters exploded violently. Alarms went off around the base, and the second team readied itself. After a few seconds pause, the doors of the infantry barracks burst open. Spilling out hurrying come hastily uniformed infantrymen, armed with Rifles. The M249's and Steyr AUG's of the team speak at once. Fire lances through all the men, killing them as they run. As chaos ensues in the various barracks, the Volgans start throwing HE grenades. Explosions rock the barracks, and dozens of soldiers die. As more and more Transnapastainians fall, suddenly the firing stops. However, this is no peaceful gesture. The first Volgan teams bursts onto the scene, firing short, accurate bursts, killing all who may have survived the initial attack. As alarms sound around the rest of the camp, and more soldiers appear from other barracks, the Volgans withdraw, a few of them lightly wounded. But they leave a gift. Hidden under what remains of the floor, set to go off in 3 hours, they leave a large quantity of C4 explosive.

Outside Farciton

Choppers buzzed around the sight, searchlights sweeping the area

“Well sir” said OIS Captain Hargrov “It looks like another terrorist attack, This one eliminate almost of the barracks personal, as many as 3 survived, and have been evacuated to Maylor City. “I see” said Major Kelly, section head for the OIS in Farciton, as he poked through the rubble with the barrel of his M-8. Soldiers and OIS officers were all over the scene, poking through rubble and removing bodies

Major Kelly bent down to pick up a piece of steel, doubtlessly a fallen section of roofing, as he moved it, he heard a steady beep beep beep commiing from under it, he shoved it out of the way to reveal a large block of cordex explosive....counting down, with 5 seconds to go...”shit”....he said

“Everyone, run, get clear, bomb!” he yelled and threw himself on the ground over it

the expulsion ripped into he pre-dawn light, heard for miles around.

Only those on the outer edge survived the blast, over 30 men tired, bodies incinerated., one man, badly wounded, crawled to the backpack radio of a nearby solider

“This...*cough* Charlie Team, Farciton Barracks...we need...medivac.....” was all he could say before he died

in the air over the blast

A AH-74 Warth flew in circles over the site, rocked by the explosion, search for survives

“This is Super 6-1 to base, we have secondary explosion on site....radio communications lost..wait...we got survivers...Charlie team, this is 6-1, we'll get you out son, hang in there solider!” said the pilot

From Maylor, Choppers and fighter craft scrambled off the ground headed towards Farciton

In the air, 50 miles form Farciton

“This is Blackice 1, we have contacts!” said the leader of the A-20 Cinder flight group patrolling the area. Super 2-7, investigate”
“Ah, roger that Blackice 1. Super 2-7 in bound” said Super 2-7

The helicopter swooped in low, over the trees, using its IR scanners, it detected human images, maybe 10 in all, in the tress.

“We have contact, OIS says this area is clear of hunters and what not, so, it may be terrorists, frag it Blackice” said Super 2-7

“Ah roger that” said Blackice 1 “You heard him boys, waste it!”

“1, 4, shouldn't we not waste the trees?”

“4 7, what, you form Nailiak? Fuck em”

“7,4, This is 1, no personal comments, do you duty”

“7 copies”

“4 copies”

The morning are was crisp and cool. A breeze was blowing off the bay. Soldiers patrolled Bridge Number 2. The Anti-Aircraft batteries were eon full alert, searchlights swept the skies. This bridge was the fastest connection between the northern island of Leros and the southern island of Gaul.

“Wait a sec....” said the Captain into the microphone radio “You're telling me we have incoming Volgan soliders...commandos, and their responseable for the bombings in Farciton, and Acclux, and they are heading, in force, to Alexander.....and im not supposed to kill them why!?!?!?

The voice, calm and rational, came back over the receiver “This is a direct order from the OIS, and General Davis, you are to stand down to condition yellow, and will allow the Volgan soldiers to pass unmolested. You are only to interfere with them if they begin acting in a suspicious manor.”

“Right, we copy” said the Captain and cut off the communications

“What the frick?” asked Lieutenant Chambers “I can't believe it, were supposed to let the friggen enemy walk right past us, right across the bridge, letting them KEEP their DAMN GUNS, and march right on to Alexander!” he said, slamming his fist on the table

“Yeah, thats what the spooks are saying....i don't like it, but i aint about to cross the OIS....are you?” asked the Captain

“Yeah....right” said Chambers

“Well, inform the troops...If the OIS told us to do it.....then they got to have a good reason...” said the Captain At least i hope so/// he added silently

Roughly one hour later

“Hey sarge!” called a sentry “Here comes something”

“Okay, remember boys, don't fire unless they make any hostile actions” Replied the Sergent ”....besides the bombings i mean.” he added

The Volga soldiers appeared from the woods around the bridge, walking along, silently, as they approached the checkpoint, the gate was raised and they were allowed to pass. The walked on and the Transnapastani soldiers gripped with M-8's tightly.

All across the country, this scene replayed at checkpoints at Bridges 1 and 3. The tensions ran high as the Volga soldiers moved onward. When the grounds reach a point roughly 120 miles from Alexander City, they were halted by OIS officers with vehicles waiting, and were transported to Alexander City, right to the OIS building.

As they disembarked from the transports, they were asked to hand over their weapons for the duration of their stay. All complied.

They were led to a large mess hall, where General Davis, Colonel Fires, and the Volgan Lt Colonel waited for them. They were fed and offered clean clothes and showers, as well as warm beds to sleep in.

General Davis turned to General Fires “Well Greg, hopefully, this will all be over soon. Contact Colonel Dells, and have him assemble the best Scorpion unit for immediate deployment, It looks like we're going to The Volga.” he said gravely

The Volgan soldiers filed into the fake Zoogiedom cargo vessel, Hermione, while the Transnapastain Scorpions are moved onto a different fake Zoogiedom vessel, the Gander. Through the Transnapastain fleet the vessels go, with the protection of the officers of the Scorpions. Eventually, the vessels arrive in Sevastapol. In Sevastapol, Lieutenant-General Kitchener sends the VISS operatives away, stating that it is a vital cargo, necessary for victory in the war. The operatives are suspicious, but allow him to do this. With the troops in converted cargo containers, which are then mounted on semi-trailers, the procession drives off for Astrakhan, where the Reichhaus may be found.

Astrakhan Airfield

Lieutenant-General Kitchener has taken over Astrakhan Airfield for tonight. On the Helipad are 4 Mi-24 HIND Helicopters, some of the few in the Volgan Military, heavy, well-armoured, bristling with munitions, and able to carry a squad of men.

With General Kitchener are forty Volgan Soldiers. Four are Corporals, two are Sergeants, two are Lieutenants, and one is a Lieutenant-Colonel.

"Ok, do any of you know why I have gathered you here?"

"General!"

"Yes, Corporal Richardson?"

"You have gathered us here to prepare to kill the President."

"Correct. With a squad of soldiers from Transnapastain, we are going to enter the Presidential compound, the Reichhaus, and kill the President. Obviously I have a battle plan.

You may have seen those Mi-24 HIND attack helicopters on the helipad. These are what I plan for us to use for our mission. With Volgan military passes, the Transnapastain soldiers will move onto the compound, posing as military inspectors. While they do this, each squad will mount into a HIND, and take off, heading towards the Reichhaus. Again, military passes should get us past the outer defences. As we near the Reichhaus, the helicopter squadron will split into two groups of two. The first group will proceed to the roof of the Reichhaus, and the second to the entrance, where the Transnapastain soldiers will have arrived. Simultaneously, the Mi-24's will open fire, with the rooftop ones clearing away any VISS security personnel manning weaponry there, and the other two removing any threats to the Transnapastaini soldiers. With that done, the Mi-24's will regroup on the roof, and drop their soldiers down. The Transnapastaini soldiers will burst through the entrance. All the soldiers will work their way through to the Presidential room, where I will kill the President."

The Volgan soldiers file out, and jump into their respective helicopters. With Kitchener leading on group, and the Lieutenant-Colonel leading the other, the helicopters proceed towards the Reichhaus.

Astrakhan

The OIS Operatives were uneasy. What if this was a clever Volgan trap to capture the most elite forces of Transnapastain? But they had to continue anyway.

Driving towards the Reichhaus in two, brand-new Volgan army vans, the Transnapastaini's were stopped repeatedly at checkpoints, but just flashed their high level clearance passes, and were allow to pass.

As they arrived at the entrance of the Reichhaus, VISS operatives were swarming round, patrolling. A full brigade of VISS soldiers was stationed around the palace, 2400 men. But only a small check was made on what were clearly Volgan army vans, with the thought of betrayal by the local forces unthinkable to the minds of the VISS commanders.

The OIS soldiers arrived at the heavily-guarded entrance to the Reichhaus, and noticed, to their dismay, heavily fortified positions. There were at least a dozen MG posts, and perhaps half as many Stinger missile sites. Also there were 3 Apache AH-64D Longbow Attack Helicopters, cruising around the site, watching for threats. Perhaps this wasnt going to be as easy as they had thought......

”Well....crap” said 1st LT John Glancy “This sucks”

“Shut up John....we;re nearing the checkpoint” said Captain Kacy

The van rolled up to the VISS operatives at the checkpoint.

“Papers?” asked the man

Kacy handed over the papers

“Right, i see you've come to inspect the out defensive measures, do you honestly think those Transnapastain fools could penetrate this far into out beloved nation?” asked the operative

“Mine is not to think, but to serve ,my president and nation by following my orders as assigned.” replied Kacy.

The VISS operative smiled “Carry on” he said

Kacy drove the van to the area where they were directed to park. The secound van followed him and pulled up along side.

He and the LT got out, and 2 more LT''s (in disguise, they are a sergent and master sergent) got out of the secound van

Waiting in the backs of the man 6 more men, armed with their M-8 assault rifles, the “Inspectors” were armed with M9 pistols, theyd receive their rifles later

They began to walk about, looking into different bunkers, talking to soliders, and wondering what General Kitchener had in mind for those choppers

“Sir, the Volgan Rebels report that the teams are ready” said the aide

B-95 Helios
Angels 100

For the second time in as many weeks, the sky over The Volga was shattered by the external detonation craft of the Kaukolastani Air Force. The burning plume stabbed across the sky, flickering past radar screens and stunned defensive bases. But, unlike the Aesir, the Helios was no spy plane…

“Cut to jets in five… four… three… two… one… cut!” Major Purnell gasped out, and flicked the Helios over to Scramjets. The horrible pounding was replaced with a single blunt smash as the laminar flow restabilized. Purnell jolted in his crash harness and exhaled heavily. Then the Helios began to move again, traveling under more humane conditions.

On the digital display, the Airbase was closing. The bomb pips were lining up. Purnell commented, “Thirty seconds to target! Bomb bay opened!”

On the hull, two pieces slid away, exposing an internal bay. Inside, racks of bombs waited. Six GBU-24s, three BLU-107 Durandals, and three GPBU-12s were clamped into place. Captain Fergusson glanced at the display, aligning the targets with the Pavelance and Valkyr targeting systems. “Designated!”

“Ten seconds!”

”Armed!”

“Tone!”

“Pickle!”

The metal storm fell from the bottom of the craft, twelve metal slivers in the morning light. The bomb bay was closing, and the GBU-24 Paveway IIIs were aligning on target. Four hangars, the control tower, and the supply depot were chosen by the Valkyr system and designated by the Pavelance. Each would receive the two-thousand pound bunker-busting Paveway. The Durandals were released in a sequence of rapid computerized decisions and adjustments, being flung towards the runways, ready to penetrate.

The ground crews were just scrambling to get fighters into the air when the Paveways hit. One hangar after another was struck by a lance from the sky, then detonated from the inside. Fire roiled from the hangar doors, and the concrete blasted high into the sky. Secondary explosions rang out, and shrapnel bounced into the runways as the oily smoke climbed higher. The Control Tower suddenly launched into the air, the Paveway striking the base and for a moment, the tower became an odd missile, seeming to hover. Then it crashed down, into the explosion, dust and glass erupting around it. Even as the tower fell, the supply depot detonated in a chain reaction of ammunition and fuel, sending a roiling fireball into the sky and piercing the chaos with a brilliant light. When the blast faded, there was nothing but fire.

It was almost anti-climactic when the Durandal’s impacted. In sequence, the bombs punched through the runway, then detonated upwards, hurling the reinforced concrete in all directions, and gouging massive holes into the launch ways. But even this was but an interlude, for the final strike was now arriving as the base crews began to attempt to recover.

Last in the impact sequence were the three high drag GPBU-12 Pulsar bombs.

Each Pulsar was filled with a high voltage capacitor and a load of copper filaments. This was an antipersonnel and material weapon of a new sort. As the Pulsar approached the target, millions of copper filaments blasted into the air. Seconds later, the capacitor discharged, sending bolts of lightning arcing through the air, lunging from filament to filament, seeking a ground. Such targets were vehicles, aircraft, and unfortunate ground crew.

Three spidery flashes erupted over the airbase, arcing into surviving aircraft and the fire control units. Each lance of electricity arced from point to point, jumping from metal to metal, dancing back up, into the filament cloud, and then back down, into some new point, before eventually grounding out. At each jagged bolt of energy, the air exploded to thousands of degrees, igniting more secondary blasts and turning the fire control systems own water into a lethal channel.

In the Helios, the bomb bay was closed, and Fergusson glanced at the display. “Jesus, Major.” The base was a burning, crackling mess of smoke, debris, secondary blasts, and random crackles of the Pulsars’ still discharging capacitors. “Target destroyed.”

“Returning to external detonation.”

The Helios was engulfed in its corona again, lunging to hypersonic speeds. Adding a final insult to the carnage, the sonic boom shattered glass for miles as the craft blasted off into the sunrise.

General Kitchener smiles to himself. While his men reel from the blast, he is talking into his radio. A squadron of M6 Bradley Linebackers are already on their way to the blast site. With the huge explosions, Kitchener is sure that the three AH-64D Apache Longbow Attack Helicopters stationed at the Reichhaus would be sure to be sent off to investigate. As they approach, the Bradley's would destroy them, then beat a hasty retreat.

Meanwhile, his HIND's would continue on, unmolested by unfriendly air units.

"What the hell was that!"

Stunned VISS operatives stumble around, with no idea of whats happening. The three Apache helicopters that are patrolling the grounds speed off towards Astrakhan Air Base, to search for survivors.

The Transnastapaini operatives hear the noise in the distance, and have to restrain themselves from leaping out of the vehicle to investigate. The oens outside were surprised, but it did occur to them that they might exploit the situation.......

The sound reached them in instant before the glass shattered

“DOWN!” screamed Kacy, as we pushed the Volgan solider next to him tot he ground.

All around them, glass burst and rained down. The bunker windows shattered, a large ornate glass dome over the main building shattered inward. Glass spewed forth, glittering in the sunlight like thousands of tiny crystal shards.

“What the hell was that!” screamed a VISS agent nearby

“I don't know sir, some kind of bombing, near the airbase i think!” said another

“The Helicopters have been diverted to SAR duties.” reported a comms officer.

Kacy looked at Lt John Glancy, silent communications, almost like telepathy, going on between them. They knew the time to strike had come

The vans had been posistioned so that their rear doors faced inward, towards the complex, and rwo of the outer bunkers had OIS operatives in them, Glancy and Kacy on the left, and two more men on the right. The MG crews had abandoned their positions, and were standing outside of their bunkers looking at the firelight in the distance

John pulled his M9 silently, Kacy did likewise, across the way, the two other men should have done likewise. Taking up position to the left of the door, with John on the right, Kacy whispered into his headset mike

“Fire”

The rear doors on the van flew open, and fire began to pour from them. Soliders using their M-8's configured to machine gun mowed down the clumped Volgan soliders. The firing subsided and the men leaped from the vans. They ran on towards the bunkers, running insdie, someone tossed rifles to the 4 inspecters. The two machinegunners began to reconvert their guns back to assualt rifles type.

“Okay, singal the volgans teams to make their drops, and have the HIND's supress fire from the inner preimeter.” said Kacy

“Boss...we got incomming.” said John, pointing

In the distance, Volgan soliders came running, firing from the inner machine guns blew into walls all around them, kciking up dust and dirt. The men took cover and began to return fire.

“I hope those Volgan teams get in there fast, or we're gonna be screwed!” said Kacy, firing into the incomming horde of soliders.

The firefight continued, the OIS teams could not move forward until the inner ring of machine guns had bene eliminated.

Reichhaus

The Mi-24 HIND squadron arrives overhead, and the VISS operatives start to cheer. The squadron splits into two, with two helicopters each going to the roof of the Reichhaus, and the entrance.

Reichhaus Entrance

As the HIND's circle ominously, VISS soldiers cheer wildly, thinking that they had been saved from what could possibly have been a very humiliating defeat. Their cheers turn to screams of terror, as rockets and heavy firing from each helicopter kills dozens of approaching soldiers, and destroys the inner machine-gun posts, which are unable to respond. Leaving a single HIND to keep up the fire, the other speeds to the roof...

Reichhaus Roof

As the other group of HIND's opens fire, so does the rooftop squad. VISS operatives manning AA guns, and Stinger SAM's are mown down as they dive towards their weapons.

As the last VISS soldiers are despatched, the Mi-24's lower to the ground, and soldiers leap out. Another HIND (from the other squad) arrives, and soon 30 Volgan Light Infantrymen are running through rooftop entrances, fighting their way towards the President's bedchamber.

"Isn't it the first door on the right?"

"I thought we went through this corridor, then it was the third on the left..."

"F*ck! We're lost!"

The thirty, horribly lost Volgan soldiers stumble around the Palace, shooting VISS operatives who attempt to counter-attack. A few are shot dead, through VISS ambushes, but gradually, the Palace is cleared out, while outside, the HIND helicopters make sure that no re-inforcements can enter. Meanwhile, the OIS soldiers run through the entrance....

“Here comes the calvary!” shouts an OIS solider over the din

Overhead the Mi-24's began to lay waste to the VISS troopers and officers around the courtyard, mowing down static emplacements and random troops. In minutes, the inner ring of bunkers is clear

“Alright Johnson, hit that door.” said Lt Glancy

“Yes sir” Johnson raised his 66mm LAW and lined up on the door to the complex. He fired. The rocket screamed across the grounds, and slammed into the door. It exploded inward, sending firing bits of shrapnel flying into the entry way.

“hehe....bomm tee boom sir.” grinned Johnson

“.....shut up Johnson” said Captain Kacy “And move, go, go!”

The soldiers began to charge across the courtyard, sporadic fire coming from the entrenched VISS soldiers. Then, Kacy saw something, a glint off something like glass in the 2nd story window of the building....What the? theres no glass left....oh shit

“Sniper! Sniper! Get down!” he yelled as he dove behind a piece of fallen concrete, Lt Glancy landing next to him, looking back they saw Johnson running long.....heard a distance boom, and say Johnson's body continuing on...without its head. The corpse of the fallen solider stumbled and pulped to the ground.

“Damn” said Glancy

Kacy leaned around the side of the rock, saw the sniper propped up in the window, having moved for a better shot, he saw Kacy and lined up oh, shit, im dead he though. He heard the sound of the shot..he braced himself for death...for the impact of hot lead on his body....it never came. He opened his eyes to see the snipers body tumble from the window and leaning out the window, waving, a Volgan Light Infantrymen. He called “We're in! It'll on be a matter of time!” he said, and then deported

Jesus that was close thought Kacy

“Move!” he said

The soldiers continued on, when they reached the door, they moved into clearing positions, two men on either side of the door, covering, and a 3 man team an into clear. The ran in, glass from the shattered dome crunching under their feet. They checked corners, behind desks, and, finally, one moved to the top of the circular stairway and called

“CEALR!”

The rest of the team moved in, fanned out and secured the room. Kacy pulled out his radio and said. “This is Scorp 1 We're in” he put the radio back.

There were 3 doors in this room, two on the 1st floor, one on the second.

“Alright people, numbers, not names, on the radios. 2 (Glancy) You take 5 men and go left, I'll take 5 and go up the stairs through the door, 7 (A sergeant named Huston) you take the remaining 5 and go right. Check corners, slandered clearing ops, and, if you find him, do not kill their president. Just hold him. Got it?”

“Yes sir!” they said in unison

“Then go!”

The teams departed the entry room.

Team 1

Kacy heard it before he saw Private Pusan drop in front of him.The sound of machine gun fire. He held his hand up. The men stopped, and Kacy pulled an Incendiary grenade from his belt, primed it, waited till 3 and lobbed it around the corner.

“uh oh” said a voice “Get d--” whooooosh

Silence

Kacy peaked around the corner, a burning body lay slumped over the MG, and another body lay behind that. The walls around were blacked and the carpeting burned.

“Right, lets go”

They continued on, finally coming to a door at the end of the hallway, Kacy went left, another right, and a third kicked down the door and stormed in, what they found inside surprised them

A lone man, setting behind his desk, a pistol in hand fired on the solider, he ducked back, the round impacted in his side armroed...it didn't go through.

“Light handgun.” he muttered relief flooding over him

“Attention outside, I know not if you are the traitorous forces, or are the enemy Special Forces, and i care not, I am the President of the Volga, and i will never surrender to you. I am prepared to sacrifice everyone in this building, including myself, to stop you., We will never be defeated!”

About halfway through the mono log, Kacy rolled a flashbang into the room, about the same time it ended, it exploded, they heard a scream, and a thud. The men charged into the office. Kacy ran over the man and slapped cuffs on him, another man grabbed up the pistol and a small remote control with a pulsing red button. Kacy removed a picture from his pocket, compared it to the man before him, and let his jaw drop. This man, just now beginning to recover from the chock, was the President of The Volga, after all.

“Inform the others” he said

Team 2

“This is really weird” said Glancy

“What, you mean the fact that we've encountered no resistance n the last 20 minutes, are finding dead VISS operatives everywhere and haven't run into ANY of the Volgan men?” asked a private

“Yea, thats about right.” replied Glancy

Running around the corner, they ran, literally, into to Volgan operatives, Glancy rebounded off the 1st, the private off the 2nd, the men behind both the OIS and Volgan men raised their weapons....and stared.

“Drop the guns!” both groups said at the same time

“No, you drop em” replied both groups again

”Identify yourself?” Demanded both grounds

“Volagn Light--Scorpion teams!” said both groups, once again, at the same time, finally saying something different

“Right” they said, lower their guns at the same time.

Two radios beeped, both saying

“This is OIS, Scorpion 1, we have him, repeat, we have the President, All OIS teams converge on this position.”

“Lets go!” said the Volgan and Transnapastaini groups at the same time

Glancy and the Volgan leader sighed.....at the same time.

Team 3

“Hold you fire!” called a voice from around the corner

“uhh, stop shooting dumbass” said Huston

“Come around the corner with your hands in the air” called Huston

“Okay, we're on your team, We're Light Infantry!” said the voice, and around the corner appeared a man, his rifle slung, wearing a light infantry uniform.

“Ah, good, so, Lt, what have you found?” said the Sergent

“Nothing, we're hopelessly lost....and we're scattered, but, its been long enough, we've most likely cleared the building.” replied the Volgan Lt

“Right...we'll how many men with you?”

“Three” he replied

“Good, you can come with us, if you like” said Huston

Just then, the OIS and Volgan radios chimmed

“This is OIS, Scorpion 1, we have him, repeat, we have the President, All OIS teams converge on this position.”

A light on Huston's PDA light up, showing the approximate position of Team 1.

“Lets go!” said The Volgan Lt, unslinging his rifle, his tow men came around the corner

The team moved on

Presidents Office

The teams had regrouped, including many of the stray Volgan LI men. Guarding the door, the hallway, and the President, this portion of the building was secured

Reichhaus - Entrance

The Volgan troops eventually all arrive on the location. With all present or accounted for (i.e., dead or in/next to the room), they discuss how they will escape. Then, Lieutenant-General Kitchener enters.

"Right, where is the President?"

"In this little study, sir!"

"Lets get him, and us, out of here. We fly for Base Seventeen, within 100km of this city. The leaders of each of the armed forces are there, and we fly to accept their vows of subordination."

"What of the OIS servicemen, sir?"

"There is a pair of Blackhawks at the entrance. You can follow us in them to the Base."

The soldiers file out, the squad of OIS and General Kitchener escorting the President towards a waiting HIND at the entrance.

Reichhaus - Roof

The three other Volgan squads march up on to the rooftop, and into the HIND helicopters. They make pre-flight checks, and take off, flying towards Base 17.

"A job well done, eh boys?"

"Certainly, sergeant. That bastard president got sorted out by us, properly."

"Yeah. Those OIS guys were a tad useless though."

"I know! We had to do all the damn fighting, saving them from snipers, machine-gunners - I tell ya, without us, they were dead meat."

"Still, can't bag them for helping us. They did provide a pretty good distraction to all those VISS guys at the entrance. Hitting them in their arses was easy with them concentrating on the OIS blokes."

"Thats true enough."

Reichhaus - Entrance

Lieutenant-General Kitchener and the OIS soldiers run out of the entrance, under sporadic fire from isolated pockets of VISS resistance. Into the single Mi-24 goes Kitchener and the President (the Mi-24 with a half-squad of light infantry inside), while the OIS troops jump into the two Blackhawks Kitchener had sent for.

"Sir, you got the President!"

"Thats right Lieutenant. We showed the bastard how true soldiers fight. Unlike those cowardly VISS."

"Hell yeah, sir. We had NO trouble out here. Those VISS blokes were absolutely useless! Half of them ran away, and the other half died at the muzzles of our guns! It was like shooting ducks in a barrel, sir."

Would VISS stage a coup? Outside, fighters from the wing attached to the light infantry patrolled the skies, while a full brigade of light infantry had fortified themselves inside the grounds.

Lieutenant-General Kitchener arrives, with OIS and light infantry commandos, as well as the ex-President in tow. He walks into the room filled with the various chiefs of staff.

A chorus of "Yes!" rings out.

"Good. As Lord Protector, I hereby disband VISS, and order all your forces to attack and destroy any remnants of this illegal guerilla organisation. Understand?"

More "Yes! My Lord!" style comments, as the now sycophantic leaders of the armed forces, eager to please their new leader, becoming mindless yes-men.
